Gaming Cartoony RPGs (I.E. Phantom Brave, Shining Tears etc.)
Sir Auron replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
If you like rpgs, then ps2 is the console to get. Disgaea is the game for you if you like to leveling alot, because you can level up to level 9999, if you had the patience. As for Shining Tears, i had heard bad comments about this game. -
Grandia 3 from Square Enix, so that's the big SQE announcement mentioned last week. thanks all of you for the reccomendations. Because im going to buy a few ps2 rpgs that will never released for the US version, such as Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Symphonia and perhaps Radiata Stories.

i would had to say Ultimecia, once Squall has the Lion Heart sword, defeating Ultimecia is a piece of cake. Omega is much more tougher than Ultimecia.

We have all had our tough spots in games that we thought we would never beat, but then the next thing you know, we beat it. So what was yours? For me is complete all 50 Missions in Guilty Gear xx. It was pretty tough. and beating Mike Tyson in Punch-Out!! And lastly finishing Alundra, those puzzles and jumping are frustratingly hair-trigger!

I've been drooling over a couple of Japanese PS2 games for the past couple of days, and since they are more than likely never going to be localized, I've been wondering, what have you guys found to be the best site to import games from? ...Venus and Braves... Damn you Namco! :animecry: and also does anyone know which site still sell final fantasy x international that comes with the bonus disk ?
-
heres my list Final Fantasy X - Although the majority of RPG's out there either use this system or a close variation, Final Fantasy X perfected it. Battles became quicker, they gained the ability to switch in other characters at any time that were strong to a particular type of enemy, and the grid system was great. Tales of Symphonia- Ahhh, the evolution of the Enhanced Linear Motion System. And boy is it ever smooth in this game. I'm normally terrible at action games because of my lack of twitch reflexes, ToS's battle system was loads of fun. And since that game was the first to say bye-bye to random encounters (previous Tales installments were notorious for high encounter rates) it made picking fights that much more fun. I was constantly picking fights in that game. -Valkyrie Profile- I love the combo-based battles. If you can time the button presses for each respective character well, you can do some sweet combo maneuvers. It's easily my favorite Tri-Ace battle engine. Well, anyone agree? What other battle systems would you praise?

Password: cross You can also get it here: http://heppoko.fam.cx/minim/upload.cgi?mode=dl&file=43 (DLkey is 'namco', password to unzip is 'cross') Has anyone download the movie? I am hoping there will be a us version of this game being released. Combined the double post.
It seems everyont is talking about Japanese Manga, and always bypasses Chinese Manga. This is no attempt at "nationalism" (I'm black), nor am I trying to drive you all away from Japanese Manga, just try not to be closed minded about other types of Manga. For me, the artwork is better (see "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"), The fight scenes are great,if not better than Japanese Manga, and the storylines are just as involving. I still love Manga as a whole (Chinese or Japanese), but I still can't realise why anyone can't expand. As for my preferences... Black Leopard (MUST READ) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Hero Stormriders (movie was crap, they tried to compress the entire manga into one movie) and... Fist of the Blue Moon These are some preferences. There are many more. Try it out.
hey, glad to hear that there is someone here that likes to read chinese manga. so the manga you reading is translated into english..? i find it very weird... or can you read chinese words ? im a chinese so bascially its no problem for me. stormriders is one of my fav chinese martial arts manga. and its the longest series, it had been more than 10 years, and the story have not end. do you read till the latest vol. and there is one more chinese manga that is recommend that is long hu men (dragon tiger door)... sounds weird when i translated directly from chinese.. QUOTE=kaisha]Intresting I've never heard of these mangas before, I mean I watched part of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but I had no idea it was based on a manga! Thats so cool!
unless you are living in a country that has quite alot of chinese population, i doubt you heard of these mangas. Combined your double post. Please use the Edit button in the future. -Lady Katana
one word: sephiroth. sephiroth has to be without a doubt the greatest swordsman since ever. i mean, who else has such a strong will that they can manifest it into a corpreal being, with physical prowess?!? no-one, that's who. plus, the masamune. no-one can or is going to argue with a sword like that.
yeah he is one of the greatest swordsman but in the end he still get beaten by cloud. :D

Manga Does Online Manga Ever Get You Depressed!?
Sir Auron replied to gaarasgirl90's topic in Otaku Central
Online manga makes me depressed when i use my own pocket money to buy the manga books where all my friends read the manga for free online Please try and improve your post quality, Sir Auron- although we're not trying to impose perfection on anyone, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use full stops, and add a little more detail in future. -Solo -
Finally! Someone else! Yeah, it's not often I hear about other people liking things like Kamelot, which is one of my favorite bands. Center of the Universe is an amazing song, same with Feast for the Vain. Blind Guardian is awesome too, as well as Sonata Arctica, and Rhapsody to boot. If you haven't already, you should check out Hammerfall, Iron Savior, Luca Turlli (I believe that's the spelling), Iced Earth, and uh... I probably have some others I could point you to, if I were at home (In class right now; don't have my CDs.) Symphonic Metal is some of my favorite music there is. I like it right up there with Nordic/Bardic/Viking/whateveryouwannacallit Metal. (Manowar, Amon Amarth, etc.)
i thought hammerfall, blind guardian, sonata artica, iced earth is power metal bands. well whats the difference between symphonic and power metal..?

Anime Which Anime or Manga Hero you you like, love, respect,or whatever.
Sir Auron replied to foxfire_2008's topic in Otaku Central
respect: Ippo makunochi from hajime no ippo. his superb determination and never give up attiude rearns my respect Hate: Naruto.. a hot blooded and impatient kid. just find that he is extremely annoying. -
My favourite gotta be Auron. He is generally a quiet individual, he keeps to himself mostly, and doesn't rely to much on others. He has a gigantic sword that no fiends can stop in his way and his personality is pretty simliar like mine.

Has anyone play Siren? Siren is a stealth survival horror game, which does things a little differently. This isn't like Resident Evil or even Silent Hill. The feeling of helplessness you feel in this game cannot be surpassed. Fighting is almost never a first choice of action .Hiding and distracting enemies are the true key to success in this game.

Does this game respawn monsters like dmc 3 do ? feels very frustrated when keep fightng those respawning monsters
