Although I'm sure its not my taste in music, if shes good, I think people should buy her CD's. I mean, she shouldn't be penalized for the actions of a relative, no matter how famous and/or "evil" he may be. I'd hate to see an incredibly talented person go unnoticed because of their relation to someone who was disliked.

As the title of the thread states, this is where I'll put up one band against another and see who everyone prefers. For the first few battles I'll put up bands of the same genre who make similar types of music so its a bit easier to analyze. However, later on I could put any two bands against each other. I know its all personal preference, but I'd like to hear what people think about each band and why they chose one over the other. No double talk please, its alright if you like both, but just choose one lol. The first battle will be between Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand. They both have extremely similar musical styles, but which is better? I think they both brought a new sound to the stage, but one stuck out to me more then the other. This is Modest Mouse. I far prefer this band to Franz Ferdinand. I think the lyrics have more to say, at least to me and I enjoy the music more. I think Franz Ferdinand has repetative beats and lyrics, overall they just aren't as good as Modest Mouse. Tell me how you feel. This is just a start. Even if you don't like the bands, tell me which one you think is overshadows the other. I'll go through plenty of metal and such as well, for Jake and all the other rockers here lol.

K flew through the air in his hawk form, the wind beating heavily under his wings as he rose higher. The girls had chosen to take a plane to Japan while K had chosen to fly there himself. It was quite the journey, but K loved the outdoors and the veiw was amazing as the ocean air carried him effortlessly. He would normally be tired after such an immense journey, but the wind was so strong from the water that he barely had to flap at all. His sharp eyes scanned the area below him, he was hungry, it'd been quite awhile since he'd eaten anything. As he examined the water riptides formed and waves grew white at the tip. He noticed a plump fish flopping around near the surface. He dove immediately, his sharp beak impaling the fish and gripping it like a vice. He flapped wildly rising back up from the rough cold water. He landed on a small island, he assumed he was rather close to Japan and resting here would be a good idea before continuing his search for the zodiac. His beak loosened itself around the fish dropping it to the ground. He changed from his hawk form back to his original one. It was silent for a bit until he began to spit rapidly I hate the taste of raw fish he thought to himself. He walked around the immediate area gathering sticks and wood of the sort for a small fire. After everything was arranged he took two stones of flint from his pocket and struck them together above the small pile of branches and leaves. Sparks jumped from the stones immediately to lite the once docile fire. He took the fish he'd just caught and thrust a sharp stick through its mouth. He hung it over the fire, small whiffs of smoke raising from the flames and heating his dinner. The scales began fall from its body and soon the fish was nice and crsipy, just how he liked it. He took it from over the fire and bit into the side. The exterior was crunchy and scrapped across his teeth while the inner meat was warm and soft, tasting magical in his mouth. He quickly devoured the fish, leaving nothing but bones and vital organs behind. After he ate his fill he layed back upon the beach, the sand forming to his large figure as he looked up at the sky. It was nearing night and the sun was setting over the large body of water before him. He began to notice stars emerging from the black of night. He loved to watch the day change, and as the sun finally set he watched as it's tip sunk below the gleaming ocean. He smiled, enjoying the sight of nature and all its wonder.

Hmm, my ideal car is one that, well, works lol. As long as it runs, and it gets me where I want to go, then I'm happy with it. Anyway, I guess if I could have any car, I'd get a dodge viper. I'm not really a car expert but I really like the look of the car. How could someone in a viper not be cool right? lol

*wipes tears* N-No I'm fine...just kidding lol I just think Gir is the simple kind of funny, while Zim offers a little more comedy you actually have to think about. I think he has the best interaction with other characters as well. Zim and Dib arguments and conversations are hilarious, and Gir usually only interacts with Zim, rather then everyone else. On another topic, you shouldn't double post. The admins will hunt you down and kill you! lol, not really, but it is a rule, so next time just wait till a few more people post, or edit the previous post, thanks

This is a song I wrote quite some time ago. Although its finished, I'd still like to hear what everyone thinks of the writing Don't let go Cause it's all that you know (And) What's it like To go down with the ship You'd better hold on To the weight that's pulling you So at least (that way) You won't go down alone If you can't beat 'em then join 'em That's exactly what you did Way to give in, Way to give up You gave up on hope cause you couldn't believe in yourself How are things Now that you're not yourself? When it ends Will you be happy with your life? I remember All the things you used to say (But) Don't sign the note Sincerely if you never meant a word

Although I wouldn't call it one of my "favorite games of all time," I don't think its a bad game. The first Dark Cloud, that was a bad game lol. Some of you might've liked it, but personally I thought it had several overwhelming flaws and the story wasn't very interesting. I think DC2 was a vast improvement over the first installment of the series. Although it wasn't amazing, kudos for fixing it up.

Gaming Series jokes (from Tingle to Biggs and Wedge)
Kamuro replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
Well, first of all, I don't believe any of these (besides the Cid trend) were actually intended. Sometimes it seems as though they have similar types of characters each game, but truth is theres only so many they can do. And they do try to vary things up a bit, for example, the lead character personalities. Cloud and Zidane are completely different, yet both play a key role in each FF game. Things do vary, and although there is some similarities, each character has a uniqueness to it. Second, you can't name three games and call it an FF trend lol. There is 1-11 including X-2 and soon to be XII. So you can't say "well, 7, 8, and 9 have some simlar characters...I BET THEY ALL DO." It doesn't work that way. There is very few things that actually occur in each and every FF game. Sure, there is some similarities, but as far as "trends" go, I think it'd be pretty hard to find real ones. Unless you've studied each game, which I don't believe we have :animesmil -
I really have to agree with Generic NPC #3, There are a lot of series' that i'll watch just the first episode, or even just part of the first episode and never go back to it again. Though i really don't think they i could label them "Really bad anime" because pretty much every anime has it's legion of followers whom the series was made for, and some may just not appeal to me or be able to hold my attention for long enough. A few examples of these would be: Full Metal Alchemist, i honestly gave this series a shot but a lot of the concepts and characters just don't seem all that interesting to me. One Piece, to me this series just looks overly goofy. Bleach, im probably the biggest fan of the manga that you'll find. But the anime really disappointed me, it really doesn't have the same Kubotite touch that the manga has. i got up to about episode 16 before i just couldnt take it anymore. InuYasha, like FMA i tried to give this series a shot, but the storyline and characters all seemed fairly bland to me. Also i actually watched Super Milk Chan a few times on adult swim and i actually thought it was pretty funny. It's different from other anime, and im definately not gonna go out and buy it or anything. But i wouldnt consider it as bad as so many people are saying.
I'm incredibly surprised at this. FMA is an amazing anime. After watching the entire series I fell in love with the characters and the idea, seemingly abstract at first, work well. There is some loopholes involved but it can only be expected with such a complex storyline. I think its a great show, and its success proves so. One Piece is not my favorite anime, but it has lots of potential. It has good action and fun characters. I thought I wouldn't like it at all after seeing the trailers and such. However, after really watching it I enjoyed it. It has lots of comic relief as well. Although it looks sort of funny and abstract, its actually not bad and you should give it a chance. Inuyasha is one of the most successful animes out there, and I don't really see how it could be even mentioned in a thread about terrible animes. The story, although incredibly complex as well, moves along quite smoothly. The characters are amazing, from the docile Kaoru to the cold-hearted villain Sesshoumaru. They develop really good as well. The fights are great and it offers a lot of action as well as one of the best love tales I've seen in any anime. I think its quite good. One anime I don't enjoy, however, would be Zatch Bell. I've watched it and given it an adequate chance, at least from my POV, and it has yet to impress me. The characters are boring, and some are just plain boring. They try to liven the show up a bit with the battling, but a lot of it is tedious and unexciting.

I really enjoyed reading everyone's epiphanies, I think I learned something. So, would anyone who's already posted like to give an update. Has life changed since you realized? I'd like to expand the piphany conversation. I think it has potential and a lot of people have to realize the potential within themselves. So my new epiphany is this. People are blind. Many people are unable to see the true motives of people and are unable to respond to actions they are unfamiliar with. The world is not pretty and bright, however, you can make this way if you try hard enough.

My position on this issue is as follows. I don't like to be pitied. Now there is different variations of this. Sometimes, things in your life go incredibly wrong, and people just don't know what to say. So they say sorry, and this is bewcause they really do feel sorry for you. This does not bother me, although it really doesn't offer any help, I don't mind it. However, I do not like the feeling of being someone else's charity case. Pity can be overdone, and I don't want to be cared for by someone who is only doing so because they feel sorry for me. I refuse to accept any help most of the time, and all I tell myself is that most people are well-intentioned. This helps me get by most of the time.

First off, I'd like to express condolences for such a large problem in your life. You seem like a perfectly nice person and I hate to see bad things happen to good people. I think your husbands excuse is just that, an excuse. A cop-out, if you will. I think hes just become bored and thinks its your fault. He feels trapped in the relationship and he wants to get out. Well, this brings me to the cliche "the grass is always greener." He believes leaving you will solve all his problems, however, it will do just the opposite. It will create more problems for himself. Meaningless relationships will leave him wishing he was with you and hadn't ruined the greatest thing he ever had. True love comes along once in a lifetime and I suggest you make sure hes willing to live with the consequences of leaving. Tell him how you feel, and if he leaves, then he won't be coming back. If hes smart at all, his epiphany will lead him to stay. However, if he still insists on leaving, then let him go. I know its hard, after working so hard to create a relationship, especially concerning your little girl. But its best for her and for you to let him go if he wants to go. Its worse for him to stay and be unhappy, because his unhappiness will spread to you and your daughter. She needs a positive role model, and a stand-up man to look up to in her life. If he wants to leave, then let him go, and when his daughter is grown and resents him for doing so, he'll be full of regret and wish he hadn't left the ones who truly loved him.

What;s the most funnist thing you have ever seen?
Kamuro replied to WhiteAoiFox's topic in General Discussion
The grammar in the title of this post hah, sorry, that was mean :animeswea Other then that I always seem to forgot funny incidents that happen in my life between me and my friends, since they happen so often. One incredibly funny thing that I do remember, however, is a braking snake. Sounds fake, but I assure you, I found a snake that can bark. -
What Does your sig, avi and username say about you.
Kamuro replied to shinji172's topic in General Discussion
hah, sorry you couldn't see the banner, was having some problems. However, I've changed it as well as the avatar so anyone feel free to analyze away. The song in my sig is by Thursday by the way. Its called Jet Black New Year. -
Personally, I like Zim. Gir is alright, thats right I said it, just alright. He is random, and pretty funny, but Zim is funnier I believe. His "take over the world" antics are hilarious. He seems so determined yet the most futile things always seem to thwart his plans. His interaction with Gir is really funny as well. Dib is my second favorite. I'd be incredibly frustrated if I were him :animesigh

Shadows Fall is a bit more my speed. I love the Hardcore aspect of metal. Although I love screaming and immense breakdowns, I like singing as well. A lot of the bands I like are a combination of the two. Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, etc. If this is what you're into you should definitely check out some of the bands on purevolume. Some bands aren't even signed yet they sound amazing. www.purevolume.com/allmyheroes/ thats a link you can use to listen to a band I like a lot. Its not incredible metalish like some of the other bands, but its really good. If you're looking for more bands like this just ask. I seem to promote purevolume a lot, but I can't really help it lol. Its an amazing site, and you can listen to thousands of bands for free. Check it out and tell me what you think. I'm actually on it if anyones interested *winks*

Although Retri is the one who gave most advice, I figure I'll add some input as well. Everything he said concerning the first few banners is correct. The font is incredibly hard to read, although I did manage to make it out. I do think you progressed, however, with the banner you just posted. Although its a bit plain its much easier to read and I believe it meshes well. Retri will post his own comments though lol. I'm not an expert on PS or anything, and I don't claim to be. But I've had many sigs in my day and one of the most important things is the text and how it meshes with the sig. Text can look amazing, but if its applied in the worng way, or put on the wrong sig then everything just looks out of order. Its sort of a feeling you get when you look at a banner. You want text to exemplify the feeling and overall imagery of the banner. It might take awhile to find the right one, but I assure you its worth it in the long run.
-
Well, since the banner was obviously for me I'll comment. I liked the idea a lot and I thought the picture went well with the background she chose. However, the font was bland and each one is a traditional MS font. It didn't have to be anything spectacular, but with a plain picture and bg it would've been nice to have a font to liven the sig up a bit you know? The pictures I provided are indeed all black and white besides one. This is because Kamuro is a character from a manga. I understand this could cause some problems. Luckily Delta made me an amazing sig that I love, and its exactly what I was looking for.

Kairi is in transistion at the moment I believe? I've had to hault Apostate Redemption as well since he was the right-hand man in the creation of it. I'm sure he'll be back when things settle down. Until then we'll have to do without. By the way Reiku, the "Kamikaze guy" in your sig is actually Kamuro, the character in my own lol.

I hope he hasn't completely scrapped Shiren No Shigami, I was looking forward to starting, just figured ULX was busy. Anyhow, I did have a question about this RP. Is every spot going to be filled, each zodiac I mean? And if so, how are we to decide the instruments and deeds of those of each "gang"?
-
sounds fun, it seems to be a new RP with some of the oldschool stuff we're use to seeing. The band part reminds me a bit of Kaiken Phrase actually. Anyway, I like the idea and I'd probably post a character for it. I'd like to see how the story plays out, each person exemplifying a certain zodiac. I'm sure some won't get along so well, leading to drama and therefore, an exciting plot. I like it ULX, kudos.

What Does your sig, avi and username say about you.
Kamuro replied to shinji172's topic in General Discussion
Lucid Username: One word, pretty self-explanitory, fits you well I suppose. Custom Title: I like this custom title. I believe it means you've been pining for quite some time for something you may never achieve, a person maybe? Pining for affection however failing to get any, or pining secretly without the person knowing? Avatar/Signature: The picture seems to be Dark from DNAngel if I guessed correctly. This says volumes about your personality in itself, however, I'd like to refer to your quote. I liked it. You're a very passionate person, and you seem to be someone who wears their heart on their sleeve. Someone who loves likes theres no tomorrow, and isn't afraid to show it. Maybe this refers to the "pining" title, who knows. I believe the heart on your sleeve might have been broken before, giving you the "lucid" personality you now express. However, you hope things will change, and your life will lean towards better more then worse. Purely speculation :animeswea -
well, first off, Nile=crazy lol There is definitely several different sub-genres, as you guys call them, concerning metal. I also use them to sometimes describe the types of music I listen to. I don't really like the slow progressive kind of metal, tool for example. If I listen to metal, its for the hardcore screaming, massive guitar rifts and breakdowns, and the incredible head-banging music I've come to love. If I wanted something mellow and relazing, then I'd listen to acoustic music, which I also love. Point is, there is so many different types of music out there so its basically pointless to try to categorize each of them differently. Some of the music I've heard is basically undescribable, and you just can't understand until you've heard it, just how good it is. I mean, theres so many words I could use, but not one would do the band justice. I'm sure you guys have some bands like this as well.
I don't know were you two have been, but it sounds to me like you're talking abouts newbies, not n00bs. As defined before, n00bs are the sum of everything not to do in a forum, and how long they've been on doesn't affect it(though it is true that n00bs here get banned fast) where as newbies are new people, their skills at grammer and decency irrelevant. Don't confuse the two.
who were you talking to, cause you said "you two" after listing 5 quotes lol *confused* anyway, all we were trying to do was explain the difference between n00bs and newbies, since they are apparently vast and completely different, as I said before, we've all been newbies one time or another, so sometimes its better just to let it go
