Marcus did his best to keep his wits about himself, carrying Ali's limp form through the halls, seeing HDF members scrambling through the compound has they went about repairs. Others secure areas they believed compromised due to Demetri's entry, he saw even more securing the area and putting up new security measures. It all seemed to rush past him as he kept walking, Ali feeling almost weightless in his arms, he looked down at her battered body, seeing her face etched with worry and distress even in her sleep. He was dealing with his own turmoil now, seeing how easily she dismissed his words and his being drove a spike through him that he wasn't sure he would recover from. He replayed the scene in his mind, her walking through the door as she ignored his pleas. Revealing she took his key card, seeing her try to talk to Demetri he felt the knife in his heart, how she touched him. What hit him the hardest, was the sheer rejection Demetri showed towards Ali, his words about what they did while he was gone. He felt he judged her to readily, Marcus was to blame, at least that is how he felt and he wished he could get that across to Demetri. He made it to the main floor, the commotion having settled down in this area as he continued onward, feeding into his thoughts more and more as he lost track of where his feet took him. He soon found a door before him, not realizing where he was looking at the rune on his door. He looked down at Ali again before turning and walking away from his quarters, tonight they would not be in his quarters, she needed to rest in her own room. He finally managed to get there, seeing a new door in place, momentarily marveling at how quick they were at fixing the place up. Entering the room he walked over to the bed, lifting the sheets quickly and then setting Ali into bed as he covered her up, a slight moan coming from her as he tried his best to night touch her bruises. He moved away and seated himself on the couch in the Commanders quarters, his full weight slumping down as he suddenly felt very tired. Rubbing his face as he laid against the couch, his eyes simply staring as he thought about only moments before Demetri had busted into the room. How he had already felt so weak after what he did to Ali, and with her revelation she had needed him that much more. He couldn't believe how much it had effected him, his own thoughts had become muddled then, his mind now replaying the seconds later, the wild animal that was Demetri crashing into the room. He hadn't been ready for it at all, after seeing him standing there, his eyes completely white form some foreign power he felt every sense go off in warning. The battle had been hard pressed for Marcus, the runes Demetri had we're strong and did ample damage when he used them right. When Marcus had found some of his runes being ineffective, he felt as if he was gonna lose the fight. His body already aching from exerting tired muscles, his mind numb from the lack of proper rest, the wind attack he had used hit Ali. This was all he needed to trigger the runes on his body, his sudden rage created the burst of magic he needed to finish the fight. When he had sent him through the wall, he had finally gained the time he needed to check on Ali. Her wounds grave, her body limp in his arms as raced against the clock to save her, he had succeed in saving her. That, he would never regret doing even though he felt her slipping through his fingers again, the helplessness of it all strained on him.He leaned forward now, turning his head to look at her still form, still sleeping as he simply watched her. He hardened his heart a bit there, seeing her lay there make him remember their short time together. How it warmed his soul, that moment when he had told her, when he has said to her what he had always meant to say but never did. I love you Ali It was all he needed now. He knew he would fight for her, he knew he would try his hardest, he also knew he would probably die in the end. His mind sharpening as that last thought sunk deep into his mind. "I will not die, not as long as I have you." He whispered half to himself, and half to Ali near by. He rose from the couching, walking over to her quietly he leaned down and gave her a light kiss on her cheek before turning and walking out of her quarters. Walking the hallways he made his way around, thinking about everything going on, how this might had been avoided if he had been able to listen to Shadowthrone again. He soon found himself in the med ward, seeing several body bags laid out in one of the rooms, one that was zipped caught his attention, a blue scarf laying on the top of it tattered and blood stained. He walked toward the scarf, knelling before it as he reached for the zipper, pulling it down slowly before letting it go and then opening the bag hesitantly. He saw Blues' face, his skin cold and his eyes were open, the lifeless look startling Marcus as he looked up at nothing. He reached out and slid his fingers across his eye lids, closing them gently before taking a moment to breath, his grief slowly threatening to overwhelm him he shut his eyes shut tight. "Why Blues? You could have told me! You didn't need to die." Marcus said to the lifeless corpse, his runes flaring with his spike of emotions. He could see them talking again, the swords still rested in his room, untouched since they had been set on his bed. He zipped the bag up, taking the blue bandanna he tucked it away in his robe before rising and walking away. His mind turning his grief into rage, the runes glowing as he could only assume Demetri had done this. He would of liked to have been there, to stop the death of his friend, to stop another friend from doing the deed. He walked aimlessly now, his blood boiling with the magic pushing his rational thought away, his progression stopped when he came across a familiar face. The runes glow fading as he looked on Pockets sad expression, the color change of her hair still threw him off a bit, the change occurring instantly when they had come back to their bodies. Their eyes opening to the real world and ever since then her hair was a reminder of that. "Are you ok Calypso? Did you get hurt in the attack?" She shook her head as he emotions became more difficult to read, she wasn't the same girl he had met. She seemed more complete these days, as if her world was in better focus. "I'm ok Marcus, it was just terrifying. Especially with all the people who are in the med ward, the body bags make me shiver." Marcus recalled the bag with Blues in it, the blue bandanna in his pocket now. He nodded to her. I know Pocket, its a tough time for us all. I would ask that you check up on the others, make sure that they are ok. Especially Lily and Tank, they don't know about Ali's condition yet." Calypso nodded to him before walking off, her pace calm and even. He instantly kept walking, his mind leading him to his quarters. He stepped through the portal and found the swords laying on his bed as he left them. Sitting down once more, he set the blades on his lap, feeling their weight. He simply stared at them for a long while, letting his thoughts come together as he kept the blades close. Guarding them as if they were a precious treasure, that's what they were to him now, a final momenta from one of his oldest friends. He wept then, letting the grief out for Blues' death, the swords making it harder to slow the tears.

Marcus mind had been occupied as of late, the conversation he had with Ali was weeks ago, his feelings were conflicted again. This time, it was for reason all together different, the name she used for him, that one particular nickname constantly crept back into his mind. Koibito was that single word, a word he hadn't heard since he was with Masan, he remembered that she called him that when others were around. Everyone assumed it was just a common nickname she gave him specially, and they were right about it being special, she would whisper the word to him at night. Hearing it come from Ali, it had been exhilarating at first, the way she whispered it so sensually to him when they would lay there at night, when he would glide a hand across her skin. But, the it became abundantly clear that Ali calling him that, was no coincidence. It had occurred to him, one night when she was sleeping, he hadn't been able close his eyes at all, his mind working too fast to get any rest. He recalled when she had touched his mind, the energy reaching down into his memories. He recalled her pulling something out, something he didn't care about at the time. It became all to clear what it was when she used that word, she had taken some of Masan with her from his mind. It tore at his heart, all of the burden he shared with Ali had firmly planted itself back on his own shoulders, and he found the weight far greater then before. He didn't want Ali to love him because of a memory left by Masan, he wanted her love to be genuine. As days went by, he had started to distance himself from her, hoping to find and answer for her desire for him. He dared not touch her with his magic again, not wanting to risk more of Masan to pass on to her. He craved Ali's touch, he craved for those nights they had spent together for so long now and now he couldn't even touch her. He couldn't use his magic, the rune on her skin stopped flaring to life, as he cut his connection with it. He remember the night he had done that, his heart had been torn to shreds doing it, he wept that night. Losing his connection with Ali had almost broken him, what he had done next had done further damage, beyond unbearable for his soul. The training room had been hot that day, the mirrors had a light fog to them and the pungent smell of sweat was obvious. He had been training again, three times a day now that he was trying to keep his mind occupied. He remembered the events that had happened, recalling the words had been too painful. Ali had made her way into the training room as well, when he had seen her his heart jumped into his throat. All he wanted to do was embrace her again, tell her everything was alright. Every fiber of his being craved that moment, instead he had to tell her they couldn't see each other, that things were progressing too fast, or something other lie he had come up with. He remembered that look in her eyes, the look of someone lost, of someone drowning and needed someone to throw her a lifeline. He had thrown that out there for her, and then yanked it back, leaving her to wallow in her own misery. Ever since that day, he had been functioning as minimal capacity, he could hardly look her in the eyes because every time he wanted to say sorry. He wanted to say those three words that would fix it all, that would mend his heart, and hers. Now, he saw in his room, on the couch that had hardly received any use until recently. He didn't sleep anymore, having to meditate to feel even a little bit refreshed and even then he could hardly make himself do use the hourglass to put himself to rest. The few times he had done it, Shadowthrone had appeared once, calling him a bald headed moron for letting her go. The words had stung more then he could have ever imagined, and instead of arguing with Ammanas, he had simply taken it. His soul too battered and worn out to even bother, Shadowthrone hadn't bothered returning, knowing he wasn't getting anywhere with him. He rubbed his face with his tattooed hands, repeating the motion over and over again, trying to make it all go away. He hadn't felt this terrible in a long time, hadn't felt so down trodden or broken. Rubbing his face some more he stood from his chair and paced, fighting with himself on what to do, and still unable to decided. He suddenly heard a knock at his door, he stared for a few moments, wondering if he had actually heard the knock or had hit something to make the noise. He heard the sound again, his heart beating as he could only hope it was Ali. "Who is it?" A gruff voice came from the other side. "It's Blues, Marcus." Marcus sighed as he rubbed his face again, his heart sinking once more. "Come in, its open." The door slid open and Blues stepped in, walking in casually, almost too casual but Marcus hardly noticed as he was so wrapped up in his pathetic thoughts. "Is this a bad time?" Blues taking notice of his friends haggard condition, Marcus looked up at him and shook his head. "No, not at all. Please sit." Blues removed his swords at his waist, setting them down beside him. Marcus hadn't noticed he was carrying his blades, he only did that when he was going on a mission. "You just return from a mission Blues?" He shook his head. "Nope, just been wandering the halls for awhile." Marcus dismissed the topic, taking a seat on the bed across from Blues. He calmed his mind enough to regain some of his composure. Looking at his friends, Blues had a carefree look to him, a small grin on his face that seemed odd. "Why did you come here Blues?" He remained silent for a few seconds, his attention seemingly elsewhere before speaking. "I had a vision Marcus." "That's your power Blues, you can see peoples immediate futures." Blues shook his head before speaking again. "No, I had a long term vision. I saw things I didn't know I could see." Marcus' eyes widened, the implications of Blues powers growing was astronomical. If he could see long term visions he could alter history at a whim. Marcus leaned in, his attention fully focused on him. Seeing now, that his old friend was dressed in his battle armor. "What did you see Blues?" "Nothing I can talk about really Marcus." Marcus groaned in frustration. "You can't just come in here, talking about a longer term visions and not tell me about it. It could change a lot of things if altered." Blues nodded to his words. "I know, that's why I can't tell you. Too much is at stake, I need to handle it alone." "Then why come here my friend? Why talk to me?" Blues attention focused on Marcus now. His eyes took on a lethal glare. "I wanted to give you my swords." Marcus' mouth parted to speak, but no words came out. He was dumbfounded by his friends words. "I can't accept them, you need them Blues. I've seen you stop bullets with those things. I can't take them." Blues grinned at the memory. "It's alright Marcus. I won't be needing them where I am going. I'm leaving for awhile, I know I can trust you to keep them safe. Just like Iron Bars trusted you." Marcus face widened in surprise at his last words. "Is Iron Bars..." "Dead, last week." Marcus simply stared now. "How?" "He died in the field, reports fuzzy. You should look at it sometime, you might glean more from it then I did." Marcus caught his words there, the double meaning hidden in his sentence. "Blues, just tell me whats going on." Blues rose form his seat, lifting the swords and setting them beside Marcus now. "I'm sorry my friend. But, this is goodbye for now, as the last remaining member of the Crimson Blades I set off on my final mission before I retire for good. Keep them safe Marcus, you've always been like a brother to me." Blues walked to the door, sliding his card and stepping out, stopping the door way, he looked back over his shoulder. "Oh and Marcus." The marked man looked up at him with disturbed eyes. "Just say it to her." Blues vanished with his final words. Marcus slumping down on his bed, laying down now he looked at the ceiling. The words he spoke all had double meanings, everything was made cryptic for a reason. But why? He suddenly heard his phone buzz, reaching over to his nightstand he grabbed it and opened it. He suddenly shot up when he saw it was from Ali, a text messaging ask him to meet her in her quarters. He rose quickly, tossing the phone aside as he walked out of his room. Heading down the halls to her quarters, he closed of his mind for now, his emotions sealed away for the moment. The disturbed look on his face followed as he stepped into her room, seeing her taking a seat on the bed heavily. He walked over to her, seeing a look of confusion and sadness. They shared the same feeling right then, even without the runes. "Ali?" Tears trailed down her face now, no sound followed but her eyes locked on his and he saw how scared she really was. Her hands settled on her stomach as he sat beside here. "Alex, you look like your about to be sick, what's wrong. Talk to me. Why are you crying?" "I just got back from seeing Patch...I collapsed after my solo mission today..." "My gods, are you alright?" She nodded, than shook her head...than nodded again. "I...Marcus I'm..." "What...please your scaring me Ali. What is it?" She looked up at him, her chocolate eyes meeting his dark brown as she took a deep breath. "Marcus...I'm pregnant..." He blinked for several seconds, the information seeping in slowly til he stood up suddenly. "What? But I thought-" "So did I..." "How?" "I dunno...Patch said by some miracle..." "Is he sure?" She nodded to him. Marcus mind fluttered around at the idea of her having a baby, he didn't see how it was possible. But it didn't matter, it explained so much to him. All of her random sickness', the eating habits, everything became clear to him. And everything came down on him like a massive fist, his words felt like a slap in the face now. Almost like and insult when he said they should stop seeing each other. He sat back beside her, wrapping her in his arms until he found the right words. "Do you know how far-" "About 3 months..." "Than that means it would put it-" "The beach...I've done the calculations over and over in my head a dozen times and every time it's the same result." "Than that would mean that..." She nodded slowly as her tears began to fall faster as the timing clicked in his mind, the answer appearing instantly. "Demetri is the father..." Marcus didn't know what to say then, all he could do was hold her close. Her tears pouring out as he tried to grasp the gravity of the situation. In his mind, this was the only time he would ever get to say anything more to her that was significant, Blues words suddenly flashed in his mind. Haunting him for the next few moments tat seemed like and eternity. He pushed her away just enough so he could look into her eyes, the tears still sliding down her face. "Ali, I'm sorry." He whispered to her, his own feelings braking loose of the barrier. He touched the rune on her palm, bring it back to life and with it the connection between them. He welcomed the sudden floor of feeling, of all the things he missed. He hoped she felt the same now. "Please forgive me. I should never have said those words to you. They were the wrong words." She looked at him, the tears subsiding slightly as she tried to understand what he was getting at. Her eyes widened as she suddenly realized what he was doing. "I love you Ali. I'm sorry for all of it." He knew she might not say it back, he didn't care though. He had set it free, had let those three little words loose on her world. He didn't know if she answered him back, he felt her hand on the back of his neck suddenly causing him to look down at her. She reached up and pressed her lips to his, he returning the gesture as he held on to her tight.

When his eyes had closed and his body had actually fallen into a deep sleep, he still awoke in the realm of darkness and shadow. He sighed to himself as he looked around, feeling like he would never have a normal dream again. He started walking, thinking he could find something more, maybe something new would pop up. Nothing ever did, it was all barren and empty. He heard a giggle and turned around casually, seeing the old man with both hands on the cane, he shook his head at him. "Don't you ever leave me alone? I just want to sleep, I haven't done that in 10 years!" Shadowthrone giggled again before turning his head and shielding his eyes away from Marcus. "You might want to put something on, you're just embarrassing yourself." Marcus looked down to see that he was completely naked, he just sighed as he simply thought of some shorts that appeared on him. "There are you happy?" Shadowthrone giggled again as he looked Marcus over, giving him a few pokes with his cane as he walked a circle around him. "What the hell are you doing old man? I'm not a piece of meat for you to buy at the market." "No, but i'm trying to understand how you did that." Marcus raised an eyebrow at him. "Did what?" He giggled again, this time with mischief in his voice. "That move with the young lady! It was quite impressive, I can't believe you can bend that way my boy." Marcus placed his hand on his face and let out a gruff sigh. "You watch us? You old perv, can't I get some damn privacy!" Shadowthrone tapped his index finger on his chin as he looked to some random spot, looking like he was thinking. "Hm, No my boy. That would just be stupid, I mean look at her, so supple and flexible. I mean when I saw you two do that one thing, you know where she..." Marcus struck out at him, the old man disappearing suddenly then reappearing a short distance away, laughing manically. "I think i'm going to have to kill you for good this time Ammanas. I mean it." "Calm down, calm down. It was all in good jest, but you might want to see this." Ammanas pointed behind Marcus, he turned suspiciously as he saw the mirror again. This time, he saw Ali laying next to him. His heart warming up, before second later her phone buzzed. He could see her roll her eyes as she looked for her skirt, finding it across the room. "Not a bad toss my boy." Marcus looked at momentarily, Shadowthrone held up his hands as he tried to suppress a giggle. Marcus looked back to the mirror, her face suddenly looked disturbed. Shock registered on in her eyes as she closed her phone, reaching into his drawer and pulling out one of his shirts. She buttoned it up and slipped on her skirt, she bent over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. The words she whispered sounding so clear to him. "I'm sorry I won't be here..." Marcus' face dropped as he saw her escape out of his room. He looked back and Shadowthrone was gone, as was the mirror. His eyes opened once more, this time to his room. Finding himself alone as he did in the mirror, he sat up, feeling something run down his cheek he touched it. Seeing it come back wet, he understood what it was, a single tear for him, for the words she had said to him. His heart beat furiously in concern, the runes responding to his emotions again. In his moment of panic, he failed to realize the emotion he had sent out. A single rune on his palm glowed for just a second, before fading. He rose from the bed, calming himself down and taking a moment to think of his next move, it quickly became obvious. He quickly slipped on his pants and a pair of sandals, anything else was not needed. He grabbed his key card from the ground and swiped before walking out the door, closing behind him silently as he walked the halls. He kept his pace slow, he needed a few moments to think anyways before going to her room, clearing his mind and let everything settle he finally came to her door. He hesitated as he stared at the door for a few moments, the card frozen in his hand as he took one more breath. Reaching out he swiped his card and the door opened, he stepped in slowly, he was momentarily stunned by the size of the room, big enough for two people easily. I can't believe we were always going to my quarters. He thought to himself as he heard the sobbing, Ali having not seen him walk in. He took a few steps over to her, standing a short distance away. "I felt it Marcus. I knew you were coming, just go away." He remained where he stood, his heart racing as the words left her lips. He thought about leaving now, letting her be alone for now. But, he couldn't do that, he had been alone for 10 years, carrying a burden on his shoulders that would have crushed other men's spirits. Having her, even if it was just only a month of them being together in secret, had lightened his load. He felt relieved all the time, he knew he could share with someone on a deeper level then just talking. he was able to show her, and she could show him. He remained firmly planted on the ground. "No, I'm not leaving you." She stood up from her place, tears still staining her face and she continued to weep. She rushed toward him, trying to push him away, he felt her hands contact his chest hard. He swayed lightly, determined to not move a single inch. "Get out of here! I just wanna be alone!" The mystic remained silent as she tried to push him again, her attempt much weaker this time. Her third attempt she simply fell into him, her pushing not working so she began to pound on his chest. Her small fists seeming to find the marks she had left on his chest, he simply kept silent as he looked down at her as her pounding progressively slowed. Putting his arms around her once she couldn't hit him anymore, she began to crumple into the ground, he went down with her as he openly sobbed on him. He gave her a light kiss on her forehead as he tears slowed, he could still hear her sniffling. "Ali, whatever it is, i'll help you. We can do this together." She shook her head in protest. "No you don't understand. He was here!" "Who was?" He said, the moment the words escaping his lips his heart sank. Knowing exactly what the answer would be. "Demetri. He left me this." She reached down and lifted the floor to his eyes, looking at it intently, his emotions took a tumble. His mind spinning out of control with the one possibility that scared him most. He was gonna lose her, lose everything again, he knew he had the strength to fight for her if it came down to it. But, he didn't know if he had the strength to fight if she didn't want him. He gripped her hand gently, taking the flower momentarily and setting it on a night stand near by. His hand touched her's again, the rune on her hand coming to life as she shared her sadness as he shared his with her as well. He closed it off then, having to guard his emotions just for now, just long enough before the sadness took his mind. He leaned down and gave her a soft kiss on her lips, pulling away he kept her hand in his as they knelled on the ground. "Don't worry Ali, we'll find him. i promise we will." She nodded into his shoulder, not trusting herself to talk after they had just touched runes again. Marcus looked around the room casually now, finally coming back to the bed, he whispered to her again. "Your room is huge. I can't believe you don't get lost in here." She gave a small laugh, the tears gone now as they stood up. He looked behind her, staring at the bed for a few moments until she turned and looked at it. "What are you looking at Marcus?" "Your bed is absurdly huge." She gave a small laugh again, he let her go and suddenly leaped onto the bed. Making it squeak lightly, spreading out on the top of it he looked around from his new perspective. "Its not to bad, pretty comfortable." "Well it should be, Its the Commanders bed, after all." He looked over at her, only raising his head and stretching his neck. "You can have my bed, I think I'll just stretch out and take this over for tonight." She suddenly leaped on to bed too, getting on top of him and straddling him. "I don't think so mister!" She said with her sweet smile on her face. He gave an exaggerated sigh, acting dramatically. "Fine, I guess I can share it then." He suddenly grabbed her and turned her over, wrestling for a few minutes on the bed before they both collapsed, laughing now as they caught their breath. They readjusted themselves on the bed, laying side by side, Marcus using his elbow to prop himself up as Ali put her hand on the side of her head. Marcus let her special smile show on his face, she returned the favor. Leaning in, he kissed her deeply for a few moments before pulling away again. Seeing the mark on her neck he touched it tenderly. "Got you pretty good huh?" She giggled as she traced a few marks on his chest. "I got you more." He let out a laugh as he rolled on to his back, trying to hold on to this moment so the dark places of his mind couldn't creep in again. He only hoped Ali would be alright in the end.

The runes glowed sporadically, the passion and the feelings coursing through them both causing the to react. When he was with Masan, he was hardly covered in the runes then. Some had covered his hands, he had the crows on his chest and a few in other places. He had also been at a lower level of power, his emotions had never caused his runes to react like this before. He fought to keep his mind, the task was getting ever harder with every second that passed, every touch by her hands on his skin made him react. His muscles twitching and his body demanding more, the runes bringing them closer together now. The tender kisses she laid on his chest made him shiver and caused him to breath heavily, his chest rising faster and faster. His control slipping away as he let his hands guide themselves over her smooth skin, he felt her tremble and tighten her legs around him as he planted more kisses on her neck and shoulders, his need becoming desperate. Her rune flared to life at their hands coming together, he saw her thoughts, her desires pushing to the forefront of her mind now. He saw clearly what she wanted from him, he couldn't deny it to himself anymore either. He had wanted this as badly as she did, his mouth closed over hers as one of his hands glided up her leg until it rested on her stomach, his fingers working nimbly as he unfastened one belt at a time, until both of them were unhooked, her back arched as he pulled the belts out and tossed them aside. The metal buckles clattering as he then lifted her shirt away, he arms held out as he started to pull it out, her lips exposed he stopped pulling it off and held her arms back as he pressed his lips to hers again, kissing her deeply before finishing the deed. He put his hands on her skin, let them explore her flesh as she closed her eyes and held her head back, biting her lower lip then suddenly gasping as he kissed her neck and moved down slowly, kissing her chest, his lips touching her scar he suddenly felt her become self-conscious. He brought his lips to her ear as he whispered gently to her. "Whats wrong? Are you not ready for this?" She shook her head at him. "No, I just don't like my scars." She whispered back, he went back and gave her scar gentle kisses. Her body reacting to the touch as she grasped the bed sheets, a light moan. "I love your skin, no matter what is on it." He whispered the words without thinking, letting his sense of control go as he kissed her stomach gently, her hands rubbing and gripping his shoulders with every sensation, her rune coming to life more as her thoughts and feelings flooded Marcus' mind. His heart feeling as if was about to burst with her raw feelings, the sheer intensity of it was intoxicating and over powering. His lips glided back up, kissing any place he could t invoke a reaction from her body. Ali's hands slid down his body until he felt her hands pass his stomach and touch his belt line. Her small hands grasping for the button and swiftly undoing it, Marcus followed suit as he undid her skirt sliding it down her legs. Her naked flesh made his desire burn brighter, his runes reacting to the intensity, sending everything into Ali, her breath catching as she moaned louder this time. Marcus grabbing the blank it set it over them as he looked into her eyes, one hand on the back of his head, the other on his chest as he supported himself on his hands. His lips met her as they finally embraced each other, he gasp interrupting their kiss as she gripped his back, digging her nails into his back. Losing himself to the passion, the felt every twitch of her body, every time their runes flared it created more waves for them to flow with. Every rune coming to life momentarily as their love making cause them to loose sense of everything, rolling over, her on top as she gripped his hands in hers. The runes making them one in mind, while they were one in body. Their bodies sweat drenched and aching now, both laying on their sides as Marcus held his arms around her, she tucked in and cuddled up to him as close as they could manage. Giving her a light kiss on the top of her head, they both breathed heavy as she looked up at him. A gleam in her eyes that made him smile, the secret smile that was just for her. She returned it with her own sweet smile, the one that made his heart beat fast. She giggled as she heard his heart beat rapidly, he shifted a bit as he held her closer, she draping her legs over him as they simply laid there. They had lost track of time, and neither of them seemed to care very much. His hands gently rubbed her back, feeling the scar there as well. He smiled to himself, remembering that this was the injury she received only the night before he met her, the night he came into their lives, and she came into his. She nestled up to him, planting a light kiss on his chest before whispering to him. "I hope there are no regrets." He chuckled. "Not from me, I hope you feel the same." She smiled and simply tucked her face into his chest. He readjusted himself as their eyes locked again, sharing their smiles. "I always knew you had tattoos everywhere, but, I don't know if they are really everywhere." He smiled as he looked at her mischievously. He lifted the blanket up momentarily then closed it again before she could actually look. "Looks like you missed your chance." She gave him a quick hit on the chest as he laughed, she lightly laughed as well. He rested his head, looking down at her for as long as he could before a sensation came over him that he hadn't felt in a long time. This time, he felt tired, felt the want for sleep. And so he closed his eyes, gently fading into a world he hadn't explored in over a decade. His breathing becoming deep, leveling out as his grip slacked ever so lightly. Ali simply stared at him as she felt surprise wash over her, and then a feeling of relief followed as she watched him sleep soundly for the first time in a long time.

Looking down are her, he did his best to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself. When she touched his forehead he had felt the burst of energy, as if she was probing in his mind for something. He didn't think she did it intentionally, it was just a touch and she pulled only his most potent thoughts, feelings and memories. All of them happened to be of recent events, unfortunately for him, one of those memories was one of her in her dress during the HDF Ball. He only hoped that one didn't surface. He had also felt her touch reach deeper into his mind, he didn't feel her pull any memory to the surface, he wasn't sure what she had touched. When she gave him that sweet smile, he stopped caring what she pulled out of his head. He adjusted himself and put his legs over the edge of the bed, she kept her liquid eyes on him, all he could do was lean forward until he was close to her face. "Are you ok Alex? The floor is kind of hard." She kept the smile as she nodded her head, her long hair bouncing lightly with her nod. He let a small smile crease his lips, returning the look for her. He saw something new in her eyes, like it was a longing for something he wasn't sure about. He out a hand on her face, using his thumb to rub her cheek gently, she leaned into the touch. Putting her hand over his as she slowly closed her eyes, his warm touch making her sigh lightly. That sound always gave him the shivers, he gave her a light kiss on the top of her head before whisper to her again. "No one has ever found my ticklish spots before." Her eyes widened a bit as she tried to turn away. He put his other hand on her face as well, bringing her attention back to him. "I didn't know you were awake. I wouldn't have done it if I knew." He let out a gentle laugh. "It's alright Alex."She smiled again and rose from the floor, sitting next to him on the bed. He looked out the window, the gray sky showing the sun was up somewhere. He looked to her, she seemed flustered now. Unsure of what to do. "You should lay down Ali, I'll sit on the couch while you rest." He was about to rise when she grabbed his arm, he looked back at her. "No, its ok. I want you to lay down too." He looked down at the bed then back to Ali, seeing the smile and her eyes seem to do the trick. He nodded and turned as she crawled up the bed, he laid his head down and she nestled into his shoulder, his hand resting on her shoulder as she traced the runes lightly on his chest. Her touched was gentle on his skin, her finger tips lightly flowing over the runes as she traced them carefully. He smiled, a small chuckle came out when she hit one of his ticklish spots. She looked up with a mischievous look on her face as she used her small hand to quickly scratch at the spot, causing him to jolt a little. She giggled as he shook his head. "You just enjoy that don't you?" She responded with a small giggle. When their eyes lock, something suddenly burned in them both. A sudden, aggressive feeling that burned bright and fiercely. The smiles falling away as Marcus leaned down, Ali reaching up, their lips meeting in the middle as they fell into a deep kiss. Her hand found his, entwining together he felt her rune flare to life on with his, her emotions pouring into his body. He gasped as he felt the intensity of it all, having to pull away as he tried to stop his head from swimming. Quickly, she was laying directly on top of him, both of her hands were clasped with his now as she leaned in again. This time coming together in a more desperate need, the feelings coursing through his blood, he released her hands and wrapped his arms around her, she putting her arms around his neck as the kiss grew in passion. Pulling away momentarily to breath before embracing again, both of them on their sides as they rolled over. They pulled away and a smile covered both their faces as they laid there. The feeling of guilt that had plagued him so heavily before, was weakened now, as if it didn't matter as much anymore. He didn't know why, but he felt more comfortable with all of this, every kiss building his feelings. He could see in her eyes as well, and the feeling behind the kisses that this was something more then infatuation. "So, what do you want to do now Ali?" He whispered to her gently as he glided his hand over her cheek, trying to lose himself in the feeling and the depths of her eyes. He hoped the moment wouldn't end. He thought to himself quietly, hoping she couldn't hear or read his thoughts. He didn't want to be caught with things running through his mind that shouldn't be there.

Marcus had disappeared quickly after the Commandant dismissed them except for Ali. He wanted to comfort her more then anything, but he knew that wasn't possible right now. He was gonna have to wait until the time was right, until then he needed to see Tank now. He had hurried through base, his feet still bare and felt the cold ground against the soles of his feet. He stopped when he reached the doorway to Tanks room, he walked in slowly, still shocked at the damage done to him. It was so obvious now, the pain caused now by the Demetri's own hand. He didn't know what to make of the situation, a trusted friend and ally had caused more damage to the man of steel, then anyone else had managed since they brought them into the HDF. He rest a hand on Tanks forehead, unable to do much else except look at the tube down Tanks throat, the way his body simply laid there. He simply stared at him for a long while, thoughts fading away for mere moments, until he felt something grab hold of his leg, looking down he saw Lilly look up at him with her doe eyes. The tears falling without mercy, he couldn't help but reach down and pick her up, her face nuzzling in his shoulder as she wept. "He'll be ok Lily. Patch and Madam Touch are the best healers in the world. Your brother Tank will be much better soon, I promise Lily." She nodded as she sniffled, he set her down gently as she stayed beside Tank. He didn't know what to do, so he simply stood their, soon enough Blues walked in beside him. Standing quietly as he looked at the pair, waiting for his friend to speak up. "I don't know what to think any more Blues." "That's a surprise, usually I can't even surprise you on your birthday. Care to explain mystic?" Marcus crossed his arms as he thought about his next words carefully. "Things have taken a turn I never anticipated. I was caught off guard by something right under my nose Blues." Blues chuckled lightly. "You mean Ali right?" Marcus turned his head slightly, looking at Blues for a second then looking forward again. "Whats that suppose to mean?" "Come on Marcus, you had to have seen it. She looks just like Masan, different in her own way but gods above she is just like her. Just as tough too, I've seen her scars, Masan could take a beating just like her." Marcus knew exactly what he was talking about, going back to that first day he met the team. He recalled all of them so clearly, that was, until he saw Alex Talon. He had been able to control it better then, his emotions and feelings were hidden from everyone. But, seeing her, it was like seeing a ghost. Almost like he was reliving the old days, he had to try to get close to her, events unfolded in his favor. Some was small parts he did, others were unintentional. When the Commandant named him her bodyguard, it had been as if someone answered his prayers. He had seen the love between Demetri and Ali, it was clear enough to him, he wasn't going to interfere with that then. All he wanted was to be close to her again, be trusted by Ali as Masan had trusted him. He wanted to prove he could protect her, that he hadn't be so useless. And with their bond, the rune bringing them closer, he grew to love her like family, he thought that would have been enough. Would have been all he needed to be content with his life, but the vacation had change it all, the passion shared between them had done something more to him. He didn't dare call it love, no, that was too close to the chest for him, he couldn't handle that right now. He could call it something else, if he knew what that was. They were no longer just friends at this point, they were more then friends, but less then lovers. He felt, content with that for now, he could be where he was now with her. It left room for when Demetri returned. If he ever returned, he corrected himself. He didn't know how to feel about that, in relation to Ali, he could say he was overjoyed Demetri was gone, but that felt wrong. So, he left it alone for now, his mind drifted again, remembering the ball this time. The dress she wore that night had taken his breath away, the kiss on the hand he had done for her had always been Masan's favorite gesture before they danced. When they did finally dance, he had lost himself for a bit in the motion. Her smooth motions had enticed him enough to put that rune on her later, the one she still had to this day. He was suddenly snapped out of his memories when Blues nudged him. "Slipping away again are you?" Marcus remained silent. "Fair enough, but remember, I can see everything you're gonna do before you do it. That's how I knew about Ali there, it was always a possible." Marcus looked at him with a raised brow, the tattoos making up for the lack of hair. "You can't see that far Blues." He gave a smug smile. "Didn't need to, when I looked at her, I saw what she could do at that moment. Her choices included kissing you my friend." Marcus shook his head with a small grin on his face. "I always hate when you do that Blues." Blues let out a small laugh as he shifted his stance. Marcus grin faded as his guilt of the beach crept into his mind again, he turned away then, walking away from Blues and the med room. He couldn't do anything more until later, he walked until he reached his room. Sliding his card before entering the dark room, he sat down in his circle, setting his hourglass he closes his eyes and pulled into his mediation. The shadow world appearing before him, rising he simply stood alone, his mind finally clear as he escaped all the problems of the reality he lived in. Until, he saw a figure appear a short distance away, the figure drawing closer, he saw it out of the corner of his eye. Assuming it was Cotillion he turned with a scowl on his face. "I don't want you here right now, I just want..." He suddenly trailed off when he saw who it was, her figure giving her away easily. The red hair making his heart race and her eyes staring at him kept him drawn in, the final touch was the sweet smile she gave him. That private smile he hoped was just for him. He didn't move in any direction, just stared as she stood a few feet from him. Her hands at her side in her hip hugger jeans and the tube top she had worn after they left the beach. Her form alone provoked thoughts in his head he had to suppress, the thoughts that filled him with guilt every time they crossed. But they always made him think about her more, how his desire and passion were slowly growing, and he didn't know how to make it stop. He took a single step, the figure fading before another took its place, an old man hunched over with his cane. Shadowthrone cackled at Marcus raged face, Cotillion appearing behind him, putting a hand on his shoulder before stepping forward. "That was a cruel joke Ammanas. He suffers enough as it is. The conflict alone will probably kill him, if not cripple." Marcus scoffed at his words. "It'll take more then this to kill me, you always tried to play the sentimental one Rope. You were just as bad as him. He, however, shows it to everyone. We may have hated him for it, but he was true to it." The Rope simply shrugged at Marcus outburst. "I was always kinder then he was, he never let me live it down." "Because you almost killed us you fool!" He screech at them, his vision changing to Marcus again. "You know you wanted it, after that kiss in her bedroom. You're sunk my boy!" He giggled as Marcus rushed forward, standing before the old man, his fists balled as he restrained from hitting him again. Shadowthrone held up his hands, his cane gripped in his left hand. "Don't take my word mystic, look for yourself." Marcus turned and there was a mirror before him, showing him was going on in his own room. The door slid open, Ali walking in to the darkness. He saw her pull the comforter off the bed, she curled up on to him, her head resting on his lap as she wept again. His heart broke, far too many times for his enjoyment, and turned to them both. "Get out, I'm leaving now." His eyes snapped open as he was in the dark room, the glow fading from his body. He saw she was indeed asleep, her eyes still wept tears. He lifted her head gently as he pulled his legs out, setting her head back down before tucking his arms under body and lifted her onto the bed. Letting her down gently, he tucked her into the bed more comfortably, laying next to her, he simply stared at the ceiling. She rolled over and rest her head on his shoulder, sleep still taken her over. He wouldn't meditate anymore tonight, and this would be the first time he slept in this bed since he obtained this room. No better way to start off, he thought to himself as he let his thoughts drift, keeping Ali close to him as she slept soundly.

When Marcus had opened the door to Ali's room, Jason came tumbling forward, a giant grin on his face. Marcus stared at him for a few moments before stepping over him and heading to the stairs. Jason scrambled to stand and quickly closed the door and chased after Marcus. "I can't believe you kissed my sister!" Marcus spoke without looking at Jason. "I didn't know you were so into watching. I'll seal the door next time." "There's gonna be a next time?" He exclaimed as Marcus shook his head. "Jason, just relax alright. Don't make too much of it." Jason let out a laugh that almost sounded like a howl. Marcus kept walking as they were heading out the door, Marcus stopped and turned back to face Jason. "Stay here, protect her and make sure she stays asleep. I don't want anything happening to her." Jason gave him a mocking salute and walked away with a sly smile on his face, Marcus just sighed as he walked out into the sun. His mind wandered as he simply stood on the porch, his thoughts drifting back to only moments ago. The kisses had done more to him then he thought, Jason was completely in the right to think it was something greater. He shook himself mentally, it couldn't be more then what had happened in the room, he didn't steal other someones significant other. But, this was a time where he questioned that virtue, it was like someone had finally rewarded him for being faithful to her memory. Nothing he could do would ever make him love Masan less, but, the feelings that stirred in him now made him question if he could love again. He always assumed he could, but he had never tried since he had obsessed about Sybille for so long. His mind had become so cluttered with trying to find Sybille and punish him, that he stopped living. He looked at his hands for just a second, and wondered what it would have been like if he had never done this. That's when the thought struck him, he would never have been standing her, and that simple thought shook him. He didn't feel confused about any of it then, only thought crossing his mind was he was happy to be her with Ali. Her sweet smile flashing before his eyes, the smile warming his heart for the moment. He was half tempted to turn back around and go lay with her, forgetting his troubles by losing himself in her touch. Feeling her lips on his had sent a fire through his soul he never wanted to quench. He physically shook himself this time, a scowl etching his face as he remembered Demetri in all of this, his heart was unsettled by this, but he also felt a storm brew inside of him. Would he fight for her? Would she want him even if he did? He pushed the thoughts away, he had to handle one situation at a time. Pocket needed his attention now. The sand crunching lightly as he walked to his destination, his chest ached now, he hadn't felt that way in a long time. He had forgotten how it felt to care about someone that much, how it felt to let that warm wave of happiness wash over you and let you drown in its sheer ecstasy. He also forgot about when that feeling vanished when you left the other, how you felt an ache in your heart that almost hurt. To him, it felt like dying. "You're not dying this time baldy!" Marcus whipped around at the sound of the voice, but saw no one, his eyes searching for the source. "I'm in your head!" A giggle followed the words, he turned again to search else where. I can't be hearing voices, especially not his voice! Marcus thought, moments later a figure appeared, ethereal, the man practically see through as he was hunched over with his wolf head cane in hand. Marcus threw his hands into the air as he saw the figure manifest itself. "You can't be here old man, I know you can't." Shadowthrone giggled again. "I can right now you idiot! I can do whatever I want!" Marcus sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, waving him off. "I don't have time for this, I can't lose my mind right now. I have to help someone." Shadowthrone appeared before him before he could resume his journey. His face still shadowed by a hood, a scowl visible on the old mans looks. "You need to think about this child, figure out how I'm here. That young girl, shes quite more powerful then you know, she let me come here." He giggled again, Marcus swinging a fist at him, passing through the shadowed mist that disintegrated and the reintegrated to his side. Marcus walking towards Pocket's cabin, the old man yell out to him. "I warned you baldy, your in for a bad day! Listen to me dammit!" He screeched at Marcus, vanishing moments later as Marcus entered the cabin, finding Gene sitting at Pockets side. Tank and Lily nowhere to be found, he walked forward and put a hand on Gene's shoulder. He turned and looked into the mystics eyes. "I'm glad you watched over her, I need you to stay here. I need to perform a very serious ritual to get into her mind, I need you to watch my body." Gene looked at him confused, baffled and unable to speak, he simply nodded. Marcus giving him a pat on the shoulder before starting to draw out runes on the ground, taking his time as he drew symbols on the ground. When he finished he picked Pocket up and laid her in the circle, Marcus crossing his legs as he sat beside her. "Keep watch Gene, we'll be vulnerable like this. I'm counting on you." Gene nodded, his face becoming more stern. Marcus closed his eyes, whispering words as he laid a hand on Pockets forehead. His mind falling away from his body as he began his search through Pockets mind, quickly finding it far more expansive then he ever thought it would be. He felt a pull, a sort of familiarity to everything happening. Suddenly he was yanked further into her mind, sucked down as if it was a vortex of pure power. He understood what the feeling was, it was magic. It hit him hard as he fell through Pockets mind, her powers were magic based, he doubt anyone knew. He instantly met the ground, laying in blue grass he rose slowly as he let his mind catch up with everything that had just happened. Looking down he saw his body had manifested in her world, looking up he saw the sky was orange, giving everything a weird tint. Two sun hung in the sky, the place he stood was plains, this plains had been torn up recently. Rocks as large has cars stood tall on this plains, the ground disturbed beneath them showed that they had fallen here, not erupted up. Marcus walked slowly through the field of jagged teeth made of stone. He walked silently as best he could, trying to find Pocket as best he could. He knew this was gonna take awhile, and the gods only knew how time moved in this world, he hoped it didn't move at all. If for the sake of getting back to Ali as quickly as possible. "Don't worry Pocket, I'll find you." He whispered to himself, stalking through the stone jungle to where he hoped she was. Taking a guess in what direction, he kept walking, trying to keep his mind clear for the task at hand, finding it difficult as his mind pictured Ali. He didn't mind the distraction as much as he thought he would, making the journey that much swifter. "I'll comeback to you soon Ali, I promise." He made and oath to himself, still walking to finish this day off on a good note.

[How could he have known anything about that? Its just impossible! Marcus thought to himself, his mind racing to find answers to the swarm of questions crowding his mind. The answer that came to his mind repeatedly was one he could not accept, the more obvious answer would be Ali spoke about Masan to Demetri. That didn't bother him any, if their relationship help them in anyway, he welcomed it. No, the only answer that came to him was Sybille, but he couldn't accept that answer. They hadn't seen him in awhile now, he had no ties here that he knew off. Demetri was the last person he would expect to have ties with Sybille, Tempest would have been his first guess. He was little more then a wild animal now, he only desire one thing, Ali was his goal and he smashed against those barriers regularly now. Marcus felt every surge that responded to Tempests rune, he only slowed at night when he slept on and off all night. His bare feet in the sand felt relaxing, but only slightly, with Demetri's outburst, Pockets unconscious state and Tempests madness, he had far too much to worry about. When he was half way to Pockets cabin he was suddenly aware of Ali's rune, the sudden wash of emotions momentarily overwhelmed his senses. He turned and ran back to her cabin, rushing through the door and up the stairs past Jason who couldn't do anything, he burst through the door his eyes searching for danger, then finding Ali curled up on the bed. Her knees pulled up to her chest, the rune ceasing to glow once he was only a mere foot away. The tattooed man looked into her sad face, her eyes showing her confusion, flashes passed before his eyes as he saw Masan momentarily then Ali. "Whats wrong Ali? Did Demetri comeback? Are you alright?" She nodded her head for a second, then swiftly changed it to a shake. Tears welling up in her face as she started to weep softly, Marcus took the moment to sit beside her. He suddenly felt, flustered, her emotions seeping into him as he seemed to lose concentration for just a second. She suddenly lunged forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, weeping into his shoulder as he froze for a moment. Unsure of what to do, he finally just put his arms around her, holding her to give her some comfort. She rubbed her face into his shoulders, the weeping subsiding as she soon was just breathing heavily. "Ali." Was all he could manage before he felt his throat dry up. He couldn't speak for a long moment, his mind rushing with thoughts he hadn't had for years. Feelings he hadn't felt for 11 years, not since Masan died. No, she wasn't gone, not totally. He remembered looking at Ali, his heart had skipped a single beat when he saw how she looked like Masan. Everything about her reminded him of the nights they spent together, the days they would sneak off. He put his marked hand on the back of her head and stroked her hair gently, closing his eyes as he simply whispered to her. "It's alright Ali, I'm here now. Don't be scared, no one will hurt you again." She nodded into his shoulder, feeling like she was relaxing now. He couldn't let her go, he wouldn't let her go, not this time. He tightened his grip around her, his arms fully encircling her. His breath caught when she returned the gesture, tightening her arms around him as she nuzzled into him. She pulled away, her arms still around his neck loosely, he felt like she was the only thing in the room worth looking at. Everything seemed to fade away as he looked into her eyes, her face showing a small smile that he imagined was just for him. What is wrong with you? She belongs with Demetri! The voice in his mind tried to scream at him, it only managed a vague whisper as he stayed lost in her expression. "Why did you call me Ali? Are your wounds bothering you?" She shook her head. "I didn't mean to call you, it just happen. I need someone here, I'm glad it was you Marcus." He smiled and felt his heart flutter at her words, he knew he shouldn't feel this way. He knew what they had was all it could ever be, but he was not about to give this up. He felt this was his second chance, another way to bring the happiness back into his life that he lost so long ago. "I don't know whats going on, but i never want it to stop." Ali gave a small giggle, something he had never heard from her. That alone made it special, she nodded her agreement. "I know how you feel. Remember?" She held up her wrist, the rune showed to him glowed for just a second then was gone. He took her arm gently, and laid a light kiss on the rune. He felt a shudder from her, a conflict in his heart tried to rise but was washed away in a tide of bliss just from giving her that one gentle kiss. She suddenly pulled her arm away and he was strongly pulled into her, their lips meeting and a flash exploded in his mind. His arms pulling her in as well, her hands placed on the back of his neck. Her pale skin glowed against his dark skin, the tattoos making him look even darker. He felt the passion in the kiss, the need to just be with her, to find the time to lay beside her and clasp hands and gently lay his hands on her skin. His thoughts fluttered around as they pulled away, a grin on his face that suddenly shifted into a expression of turmoil. He suddenly rose from where he sat began pacing, Ali stayed seated as she watched him. "No, this isn't right. This can't be right, your with Demetri, you can't be with me. No, its all wrong, it can't be right." Ali pulled her legs up to her chest again. He saw the gesture and melted again. "Don't cry Ali, please don't. I just wish I had the answers." She looked up into his dark eyes. "You can't have the answers to everything Marcus, I don't know what to do either." He felt exasperated, his mind racing faster then ever. He didn't know what to do, all he could do was sit down again, beside Ali. His hand reached out, gripping hers gently as their fingers folded together. Jason peaking through the cracked door, a smile on his face and almost a look of triumph. He didn't plan any of this, he really didn't care though, Marcus was the better choice in his mind. He continued to watch carefully, hoping this would make his sister just as happy as the bastard did.

No worries man, its a lot more awesome of an Avi and banner then i envisioned.

"I'm sorry about last night Pocket, things came up." Marcus explained as best he could to her, everything he knew he couldn't reveal to her. Her sad eyes looking up at him as she nodded. "Its okay Marcus, I haven't been feeling well lately anyways." He reached out and touched her forehead with the back of his hand, taking only moments to see if he could find anything. He pulled his hand away, feeling a tingle shoot through his hand before letting it fall back into a rest position. "You don't have a fever, maybe you have acclimated to the weather. It happens." She nodded her head, Lily and Tank were near by as well. Lily playing in the sand as Tank helped her grab branches and other things for her to use. Marcus couldn't help but smile at how innocent she was, Tank's wound was healing nicely, he would still be left with a scar for his life but it made him look more adult. He wished that the whole thing hadn't happened, the power he used was too raw, the emotions between Tempest and Demetri were savage and he had felt it, through Ali somehow. The rune he had put on her so long ago now, had evolved beyond what he thought it would do. The change in his power had made it more receptive for the both of them, he didn't doubt at this point that Ali could find him if she really wanted to. Pocket coughed suddenly, drawing Marcus attention, he quickly saw that she was starting to waver and then thumped to the ground. They had both been sitting so the fall had been minimal, Marcus scurried over to her as he tried to see what was wrong with her. "Tank!" He yelled as he listened for a heart beat, his ear on her chest and his forefingers on her neck, looking for a pulse. Tank had rushed over, concern filling his eyes as his face remained hard. Lily stood next to his leg now, her eyes welling up with tears as her best friend lay on the ground. Marcus rose as he lifted her eyes lids, seeing her eyes dilated and her breathing shallow. "Whats wrong with her Uncle Marcus?" He was thrown off for a moment, she had never called him that before. He shook it off mentally and looked at her distressed face. "I'm not sure, I think she's in a coma. I don't know why she is in this, something is wrong here." Marcus reached out and touched the back of her head, placing his hands where he knew he would get the best connection. He was about to close his eyes when he heard the growl of his name, he turned to see Jason coming at him. "Marcus! Ali needs you! That asshole hit her with a wind blast, she needs help." Marcus pulled his hand away, looking to Pocket for a moment before looking to Tank. "Take her to her bunk, I'll come and do my inspection then. Keep her safe Tank." He nodded to him and easily scooped up her small form and carried her off, Lily hot on his heels. Marcus rose form the sand and followed Jason to the cabin, Jason's wild side showing as Marcus did his best to keep up. They finally reached the cabin and Marcus pulled Jason back, his eyes were the wolfs now. He pressed Jason against the wall as he spoke clearly to him. "I'm going in alone, if things get out of hand. You know what to do." Jason hesitated for a moment, then nodded as Marcus released him and walked in, heading upstairs to see Ali laying on the bed. Her shirt dotted with blood that seemed to be growing, Demetri covering his left eye as he whispered words over her. "You can't ask forgiveness from someone who can't hear you Demetri." He whipped around suddenly, his red-shot eyes and dark bags showed clearly now. He seemed healthy otherwise, but lack of sleep could damage the mind. He could only imagine who little sleep they were getting. "Go away Marcus, this is not your concern." "It is my concern. She's bleeding Demetri, judging by the damage done to her, I can conclude it was you who did it." Demetri was angry now, the rage visible on his face. He reminded Marcus of Tempest almost. "It wasn't my fault! That stupid mutt came in here in the middle of...." "Sex?" Marcus said blatantly, Demetri nodded as his eyes shifted about, almost as if he was looking for someone. "He was wrong, alright Demetri?" Marcus edged closer, trying to keep him as calm as possible. "He shouldn't have barged in here, your privacy should be respected." Demetri nodded as he kept drawing closer. He seemed to half notice, and not care at all. He suddenly lashed out with a blast of wind, damaging the door as it bounced off of Marcus' shield. "Calm down. You'll kill someone like this." "Shut up! You don't know anything! You think you can fix all the problems of this team? You couldn't even help your team, they died because your useless!" Marcus did his best to keep his thoughts calm, the words seemed almost as they weren't his own. He half wandered where this information came from when another blast hit him square in the chest, dispersing as it pushed him back a half step. "Demetri! Maintain control, gods only know what you'll do to Ali if you were to really use your power. You'll be the cause of her death, I've seen far to many people die to see one more die." "You only care about Ali because you think you have a chance with her, just because she looks like your dead Masan, doesn't mean anything. She only loves me!" Marcus was dumbfounded, Ali only knew about Masan, their relationship and how she looked like her. Something was seriously wrong in his mind, he knew things he shouldn't have. "I've had enough of this Demetri, you need to leave now! I have to tend to Ali and you are nothing but a distraction and a danger. Get out!" Marcus' raged flared with his runes, a bright blue light showed then faded as he returned his calm. Demetri seemed almost on the verge to attack him when he suddenly stormed off, Marcus watching him leave before turning and tending to Ali. Doing his best to treat her wounds, Jason soon arrived, his face showing the anger he expressed so well. "Is she alright? I'll kill that bastard!" Marcus held out a hand. "No, keep an eye out on Ali. I need to tend to Pocket as well, she fell into a coma. Ali is healing already, she needs rest and you're the best watch dog I know." Jason growled at him as Marcus left, heading to Pockets cabin, his nerves shaken by Demetri's words.
-
Marcus had watched the others filter out of the cabin for Demetri and Alex, Pocket had stayed with him for a few moments longer. She stood beside him as he watched Tank and Lily walk out, her skipping as he followed with a grin on his soon to be scarred face. She looked up at him, seeing the deep frown on his tattooed face, the look almost menacing with the added effect of his runes. "Marcus, can i talk to you about something?" He looked down at her, his attention broken now as he looked into her innocent eyes. "Of course Pocket, I'm always open." She seemed unsure of what to say next, fidgeting a bit as she seemed to look for the right words. "I've been having strange dreams. I see where creatures and weird objects, people of all kinds wielding tools and weapons I've never seen before. It all seems so real." Marcus nodded to her. "It happens, especially with everything that's been going here. I would think you should just try to settle your mind more." She shook her head. "No, it's not that. The people and the creatures and anything else I see in those dreams, they interact with me. It's not just a dream, I wanted to ask you if you could search my mind, like you did Demetri." He looked at her with an unsure expression, he believed it to be simply and over active imagination. But, Pocket wouldn't have come to him if she didn't believe he could help her. He nodded to her again. "I will help you however I can, before you go to bed tonight, i'll meet you in your room and prepare the necessary ritual. We will do something different then Demetri, sound good?" Pocket smiled at him and gave him a great big hug. "Thank you so much!" He chuckled as he hugged her back, she then turned and skipped off like Lily did. He shook his head with a smile on his face, he would help her as soon as he could. Right now, however, he had a suspicion that was now clouding his mind. What Ali had said had sent off some sort of warning in his mind, he never ignored those warnings. He had been taught this his instincts were some of the most fine tuned means of detection humans had. Being more then human, his were greater yet, all of them told him something was not right and he needed to at least glean a little bit before looking for Shadowthrone and handling Pockets problem. He waited patiently, hiding in the darkness of the lower rooms to see if one of his suspicions was correct. When the sun was finally setting, Marcus could start to hear noises in the upper levels. Deciding he should that was the last thing he wanted to hear, he settled in a dark corner and brought out his hourglass, setting it down the liquid flowing as he passed into his meditation. He opened his eyes to his dark world, a figure stood near by, his hood drawn over his head as he watched Marcus slowly rise. The rope that hung at his side was part of his title, he had probably killed more people with that rope then most people did with knives. "Why are you here? I didn't call for either of you, i'm not ready to talk to you yet." The figure shrugged at him. "We've been waiting for you, he got impatient and went off. I stayed, knowing you would be here eventually." Marcus crossed his arms, looking at the gaunt, almost skeletal looking face under that hood. The skin pale as bone, his exposed hands showed that clear enough. "What is it you need Cotillion?" He shifted a bit before speaking. "Just came by to see how you were doing, been sometime since we spoke." "Last time we spoke, everyone didn't think you were dead. Gods only know why you two decided to talk to me." Cotillion remained silent for the time being, Marcus still didn't understand but they had never answered questions before. "Just tell me whats going on. I hide enough things from everyone I care about to keep you two safe." Cotillion crossed his arms now, simply staring at Marcus. "I came because you needed to know some things. Your mission is being sabotaged by a source close at heart." Marcus pinched the bridge of his nose as he let out a rough sigh. "The cryptic messages don't help me any, it would be nice for once if you would just tell me straight out." Cotillion let a smile creep onto his face. "Now you're lying to yourself, you always enjoyed the puzzles. Besides, you know more then you let on, we've seen you explore those other worlds. The things you know, no one should ever know." Marcus had nothing to say back, everything he said was true. "The knowledge helps everyone." "The knowledge helped the Gods, everyone else you damned to their fate." Marcus runes glowed slightly. His anger taking hold. "I refused them, long ago. I learned every rune, I learned what power was and I learned more then any mortal ever has! I saw the libraries of Alexandra, the Egyptian rituals of old, I walked the road of Atlantis, saw what they created and how they fell. I waged wars with the Greek Gods and won!" "You did all of that here Marcus, you visited times and places that are no more. Everything you learned could help everyone in the world you live in, yet you keep it secret." Marcus bowed his head this time, the point driven home now. He had seen where it was going, but had failed to use his reason to stop it. He rubbed his face again as Cotillion sat down on a chair made entirely of shadow. "I understand Cotillion, forgive my rashness. I haven't learned to control their power yet, its all still very new to me." "I know my friend. Take time, it'll all come to you naturally. Heed my warning, we will be watching you old friend." Marcus suddenly awoke form his meditation, the sun was gone and the house was enclosed on darkness, snatching up his hourglass he stepped forward out of his corner. He could feel Ali's room upstairs, he heard footsteps outside and the door opening and closing. He set off then, his mind suddenly focused on finding Demetri. The words that Cotillion spoke seemed to ring true when he thought about Demetri, especially when Ali said he wasn't doing well. The battle also brought a bitter taste to his mouth, Demetri's violent attack had been the nail in his proverbial coffin. He set out into the darkness of the beach, the waves crashing was eerie but soothing. Following the footsteps he trailed behind Demetri as best he could, staying silent and invisible as they walked into the forest. Demetri stopped at one point, seeming as if he was trying to run away from something. He heard Demetri yell as if he was talking to someone else, Marcus saw no one, but he knew that people didn't always show themselves. He stepped from the darkness, making sure his presence was known with loud snaps of twigs and clearing his throat. Demetri whipped around to face him, his face seemed drawn and like he was tired. "Marcus, what are you doing out here?" Marcus showed him a a gentle smile, with his hands out to show no harm intended. "I was just taking a walk, just thinking before I went and helped Pocket with something. Are you doing alright?" Demetri seemed to settled down with that, rubbing his eyes before speaking. "I'm alright, just exhausted." Marcus nodded as he walked closer, standing beside him as he placed a hand on his back. "Demetri, I wanted to know if you would let me dive deeper into your mind. I only caught a glimpse last time, I want to see if I can find the real problem." Demetri looked up at him, a worried look in his eyes. He looked away as he thought about it. "It'll only take a moment, I'll do nothing else in there. Just see if I can help." Demetri took a moment, then nodded as Marcus placed both hands on the back of his skull, as he did with Ali. Closing his eyes, he entered his mind and Demetri felt a suddenly shock down his spine. A blinding white light in his mind and then a chilling laugh, he was suddenly being shaken. His eyes opening to see Marcus face, blood running from his nose and ears, he shook himself as he laid on the ground. "What happened? What did you do?" Marcus held up his hands in a disarming gesture. "I simply looked into your mind, the connection is strong, too strong for my comfort." He gave Marcus a harsh glare. "What does that mean?" "It means, I want you to take it easy. Get some rest, go back to Ali and feel her embrace. Just stay calm, you'll feel better." He lied, as Demetri rose from the place on the sand. Marcus help him up and guided him home, he stared at the door as he watched Demetri entered looking shook up. He contemplated talking to Ali, he simply stood at the doorway, taking time to think about what his next move was, the dried blood on his face.

The runes glowing brighter and brighter by the second, becoming white hot in appearance as he supported Ali with one arm. His own rage seemed to the others around him as if it was out of control as the two fighting on the sand now, his was, however, controlled rage. Tempest and Demetri were fighting with a blood rage that would ultimately devour everyone around them, and then finally they would die in the conflagration of it all. Bloodshed like this was never anything that could be subsided with reason, the only thing they responded too was power, and Marcus would show all that he dared. The fact that his runes glowed to brilliantly now registered what was to come and all that would follow. He looked to Ali, his mind regressing to a time when he held Masan the same, her body limp as her eyes followed everything he did. Both had shown him the fear, that night with Masan however, had ended with her death. He remembered her eyes, he could see the life leaving as she spoke the final words to him of her love for him, how everything did matter even if she was gone. "I won't fail you again, never ever again Masan." He whispered the words, not sure if Ali had heard any of it. He walked forward until they were directly between the two combatants. His glowing runes now produced a radius of shielding, the fire and wind blasts grazing past his protective bubble. He laid down Ali gently before speaking to her one more time. "Please forgive me for what I must do." He rose again, his hands free as Ali looked up at him as she lifted herself up on her elbows. He didn't see the look in her eyes as he stepped into his own world, the runes and words floating before him as he readied the incantation. His feet firmly planted with as he listed his glowing hands, his fingers facing towards to the sky as he became claw like. "Desma No Setra Sras En Toro Gest Dem Le Inose Mossen Neamos!" His hands lancing upward as the sand beneath them two shooting up, the sand geyser's sending them both upward, disrupting their attacks on one another. The sand forming around them, taking hold of them with such force it was like a giant fist holding them tight. They both fought the sand, Demetri trying to blast it apart with the wind, Tempest using his fire to crystallize it and try to shatter it. Marcus moved his hands around, swirling them through the air as he began his words a new, the sand geysers rolling them around in the air causing them to disorient further. Both still fired off shots of power, their anger growing and their blood lust seemed to seep from every pore now. Tempest let loose a rouge wave of fire, enough force that it passed through the sand and headed in his direction. The wave threatening to consume Ali, Marcus adjusted his stance, the shield blocking the wave at the last moments, the fire licked at the invisible barrier before dispersing. "Kanos Mestra Seamos Adun Balan Et Soriam Contrasa." His hands moved with the words, violent motions caused the sand geysers to swing the two around, them making contact with the trees and cabins, the damage becoming clear as Marcus focused on the raw power. He cared nothing for the blood he would spill today, he only cared if he could bring this all to and end. "Cintra Desma Mornia." With another violent and dramatic gesture, he brought his hands down, palms facing the ground as his fingers straightened out. The two combatants smashing into the ground with such force it created an impact from where they laid, he rose his hands once more and slammed them back down. Demetri and Tempest hitting the ground again, this time it was obvious that they were not longer in any shape to even move anymore. His hands relaxed, the magic fading as the sand simply crumbled around them, sprinkling them with the fine grains as they struggled to move. Tempest breathing heavily as laid on the ground, unable to move, Demetri however, struggled to stand. Failing in his attempt he still tried, his body still strong with the rage. He managed to stand for a few moments before falling forward, Ali looking to Marcus as he knelled in the sand, Jason now standing beside him as he kept his eyes on Tempest. Marcus turned his head to Ali, a smile on his face with wet eyes. "I did it this time Masan. I saved you both." He turned back to stare at the beach, the waves crashing as he came back to himself. The memories fading as he realized what he has said, the tears never reaching his cheeks as he looked to Ali again. She had staggered to Demetri, she looked at him and he could only pray that she could forgive him.

That was a very interesting post from Mage, it was very cool to see the fireworks, in a matter of speaking. I like the aggressiveness he took on, especially with the new voice talking into his mind.

Marcus simply stood in the doorway for several moments, he contemplated just leaving right then. He had seen more than he had anticipated from her memories, she had also seen more than he wanted her to see. The memories she had seen were unfiltered, her empath power had made it easy for him to tap into her mind, but made it just as easy for her to look into his. If she had fished in his mind for anything specific, she could have found it, but she only saw his most powerful memories, and those were all of Masan. She was always there not, especially when he saw Ali and Demetri. Their love reminded him of so many nights he was with Masan, and with that thought filling his mind he let out another sigh and stepped back into the room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to Ali, sitting down again as he searched for the words to begin. "I wish I knew where to start, things have become complicated." Ali stared at him as he searched for the words, she got up and sat beside him, looking at him with her understanding eyes. There was so much of Masan in her that she broke his heart every time he saw that look, those eyes and all the power in the world. He could see how Demetri would fold under those eyes. "Alright, I'll start where I can. You deserve to know as much as possible." Ali nodded, watching him carefully as she saw the trouble he was having. He almost didn't notice when she put her hand on his forearm, her touch bringing more comfort then he had expected. He wondered if this was what having a family was. "First off, you should know that after we talked about Tempest, I had him marked." Ali didn't seem that surprised to hear that from him. "I'm not surprised Marcus, we both agreed there was something off." Marcus nodded solemnly. "If we had only know how off he was." She cocked her head at his lost comment. "What do you mean?" Marcus sighed again, wringing his fingers together. "You may not remember now, but you saw everything that happened. I saw everything that happened, and I am....concerned." Ali waited for him to continue, her eyes wide as the anticipation of know was slowly starting to get to her. "After you ran off, what do you remember?" She looked away as she tried to remember clearly anything that had happened. "I remember feeling sad, I remember hitting my hand against the tree. After that, I don't remember much, just muffled words." Marcus nodded to her as he looked away now, his eyes focusing on one spot on the floor. His mind recalling the memories, Ali's memories, and his anger grew, the runes on his body started to glowing that eerie blue color. "Marcus, whats wrong? You're glowing again." Marcus came back from the trip down memory lane, the light fading as his rage subsided. He shook his head to clear it up. "I'm sorry. The fresher the memories, the more potent the emotions are. After you hit the tree, Tempest showed up. From what I saw, he had been following you and seemed to pounce on the moment. What I saw, was rather disturbing for anyone who witnessed it. You spoke to one another, he tried to comfort you but you turned him away. It was understandable, he was pushing, fishing for something. He spoke the words 'I love you' to you. It became clear, he was there to try and take you for himself." Ali was near tears when he paused for a moment, keeping his own feelings and the ones that lurked from Ali's from exploding out of this room. He moved closer to him, he put a protective arm around her as he did his best to continue. "You two exchanged more words, he still trying to take you from Demetri and you refusing his advances. He was the one to smash you against a tree, the final words he spoke at the end chill me the most." Ali pulled away as she looked up at him, fear and sadness in her face. "What did he say Marcus." He hesitated before speaking again. "He said, 'You will be mine, one way or another. I'll have you.' The words he spoke, I've heard those words before. The way he said it as well, those words are the words Gods put into your mind. His obsession, it has become a monster all on its own Ali." Ali trembled as she remembered all over the encounters with Sybille, her head snapped up to meet his eyes as a thought hit her. "Is Tempest.... is he another God Pact?" Marcus shook his head. "No, if he was we would know about it. He would just take you, but I do feel he has come close. He's done something along the lines of what Jason did, he's contacted a god to make some deal with them. At least, this is my suspicion. I don't have much else to go on until I meditate tonight." "Does Demetri know about any of this?" Marcus shook his head. "No, I would prefer we keep this secret until he apprehend Tempest. Demetri would bring too much emotion into this, once he is found and we get the truth out of him Demetri will know everything." Ali wiped the tears away, she then looked at Marcus with a question on her mind. "Marcus, how do you know so much about.... everything?" Marcus froze right there, she didn't know anything about what he did in his meditation. The beings he talked to and the things he did, no one knew what he did anymore or where his information came from. He always knew too much, anyone else he would just spew something sounding insane and dismiss the subject all together. Ali, on the other hand, wouldn't let it go with that. He had to say something. "With anyone else, I would lie to them. Tell them it didn't matter and they would die without my knowledge. Part of that is true, plenty would die without me. Everything I know I learned from other places. I wish I could tell you more, But I can't explain any of it that is comprehensible to anyone else outside of the male members of my family. I'll simply show you, but not today Ali. When you are ready, I'll show you one day what I do." Ali nodded, she knew she wouldn't get more out of him than that. And it was already more information then she thought would be said. He rose from his seat and walked to the door, he heard Ali speak up one more time. "You never answered my first question Marcus, You miss her a lot, don't you." He was gripping the door handle when she said those last words, he stared at the door for several moments before turning his head to see her. "Every day of my extremely long life, I'll always miss her. And I'll always feel like I failed her." He opened the door and walked out, closing behind him as he walked down the steps going to find Demetri to send him back up.

I am sure we are all very glad to hear that from an outside source. In my honest opinion, KG makes some great rp's, they are simple to understand but they always have depths in characters and she's put up with my BS for years now, even the days when I was the arrogant kid who did the generic moody characters. Sorry KG, I fan boyed out on you a little bit. Anyways, Hopefully you'll join us when you feel its right, or maybe when we have a sequel going on. Sequels are always great for bringing in old and new faces.

"My lord, you can't leave us like this!" The young man exclaimed, the group mumbled amongst themselves with his outburst, some were agreeing with him, others still murmured their support of their lord. He sat in his chair, his hand on his face as he seemed almost bored with this meeting, he showed them as if it was all just formality that he called the leaders here. "Temul, as I do appreciate your concern on the situation, I no longer have a choice in the matter." The room erupted in a roar. The voices yelled their anger at his decision, others defended him furiously. All he did was remain seated as the arguments seemed to escalate, it seemed that at any moment they were going to start drawing blades on each other and start thinning the command ranks. "Silence!" The Lord roared as he rose from his seat, drawing his ceremonial blade from his chest strap and slamming the dagger into the table, the hilt presented to the crowd around him. All of the commanders and generals sitting down as they stared at the glowing gem that rested on the very end of his blade. They all lost the words with that single act by their Warleader, the anger in the faces around him subsided as he stood tall, his crow cape resting behind him. "My father gave me this blade, telling me that he hoped I would pass it down to my son and him to his son, and so on and so forth." He paused as he pulled their attention in, their eyes focused on him intently. "I never took a wife, never father a child. Many of you never understood why, I was in the same place as well. That is, until I saw the gem glow, the words spoken to me by forces long lost to us. I will not ignore their calling, no matter what position I am in." The crowd in the room mumbled again to each other, this time it was in agreement with their Lords wishes. He reached out and pulled out the dagger, re-sheathing the blade and taking his seat again. "We are currently at a stage of neutrality, I advise we remain this way in my absence. My uncle Bult shall take command while I am away, you will all maintain your roles, but there will be no initiation of a war while I am gone." Temul spoke up again, keeping a calm tone and staying in his seat this time. "My Lord, are we to simply roll over if we are attacked or invaded?" "Of course not Temul, I said we will not initiate the attack. If we are attacked and provoked, my uncle shall do what is right and take the action he feels is best." He rose from his seat again, this would be the final time he would rise, the last time these men would see him for quite sometime. "I will be departing in mere hours, I will return in time. I expect you all to keep our people safe, this meeting is over." He kept his composure as each rose from his chair, saluting him as they departed the room. The last one left was his uncle Bult, the mans face was distorted due to a lance crashing through his face during one of the battles past. He spoke normally and he still was a regal man, he simply had the scars to show for it now. "I wish I could dissuade you from this course of action. But, I'm confident I would fail in that endeavor." He smiled at his uncle, embracing the man for a moment before stepping back. "It calls to me uncle, I wish I could say more but its something that needs to be done." Bult nodded to him and gave him one final pat on the shoulder. "Go with confidence that all will be taken care of here, Coltaine." Coltaine nodded and then swiftly left the meeting room. His horse was ready for him and his supplies were enough to keep him going for a long while. He was off in a mere hour and rode toward the mountain that called him so often now, his dreams were plagued with the callings. He rode for several hours, slowing his horse every so often to feed and water it on the go. The horses his people bred knew about the hardships of war, they fought as hard as most soldiers did. He had seen his mount bite a mans arm and rip it from his body, he patted his horses neck as they started to near the mountain top now. "We're almost there Destrus, we will rest once we are there you have earned it my friend." The reached the mountains top, the calling faded and the pull seemed to want to keep him here. He saw footprints in the snow, one set was from someone on foot, rather light and small, the other was distinct hoofprints. His horses hooves destroyed the others, but he knew the size of your horse didn't mean much if its spirit was strong and resilient. He dismounted and looked around, only to spot two women standing near by. One was armored from head to toe, her identity hidden from them all with her hand on her hilt. The other showed a great smile to him and waved at him, he could see she was clearly almost half his age. He shook his head lightly as he walked over, guiding his horse over to them, he could only hope that things went well with these two, maybe they knew about what was going.

"Couldn't they just send us here for a day? A week is just ridicules, all this salty air is messing with my nose." Marcus couldn't help but chuckle at Jason's lack of comfort, it was a much needed distraction from what was going on outside. Tempest was pushing hard with his advances, but Marcus had an idea to further prevent him from getting too close. He needed to keep his focus on what was going on in the world outside of their quaint, little paradise. They may have been cut off from the HDF and other members, but Marcus could still leave the confines of his body to search the world. With the release of the pent up power, he wasn't sure the limits were of his strengths anymore. He did, however, know a few things he could try again, one trick he hadn't done since he had been younger. He looked to Jason, automatically volunteering him for the experiment he was going to try. "Don't move Jason." He looked at Marcus suspiciously before taking a seat on his bed and then laying down with his hands behind his head. "Whatever Marcus." Marcus took a few steps back before taking a deep breath and letting his mind go free. "Estan Tecan Nesmaz Jason Cortal!" Suddenly Jason whole bed shifted dramatically, sliding across the floor with enough jarring force to rock Jason about. His hands had instantly gone to maintaining his place on the bed. Just as quickly as it had started it ceased, Jason bed was now three feet from where it started. He sat up quickly with a look of annoyance. "What the **** was that?" "I used words instead of drawing runes to move you." Jason hopped on the bed. "You can use words for your power?" Marcus shook his head. "No, that's not how it works. Every rune has a name, a particular word that gives it power. I can use the symbol itself to create the desired effect. However, I know the words to them as well so I can use them that way as well." "Why haven't you done that before? It seems like it could make life easier for you." "It actually is much more difficult to speak their true names, I have to say multiple names to get them to do what I want. It is a more powerful way to use them, so there in lies the balance of my powers. Using the symbols is quick and easier, but less potent then speaking their name." Jason waved off the conversation, ending it right there as he scooted his bed back and laid back down. "Don't do that again." Marcus bowed his head before turning and walking to the door. Jason lifted his head as he watched Marcus walk out. "I know you don't sleep but don't forget the rest of us do!" He yelled at him as Marcus vanished into the darkness. He walked through the sand, the wind was gentle and carried the warm air on it that Marcus enjoyed feeling. He suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, realizing that he could feel the warmth of the wind. He could feel the cool spray of the ocean, all of these were feelings he hadn't felt for 10 years now, almost 11 now. He had forgotten how it all felt, how its embrace could pull him back to his days in Ghost Echo, of the days where things seemed easier. He took those few moments and let them absorb into his mind, he could only wonder what else the energy ha done to him, and maybe even making a connection with someone else like Ali, had done something to the barriers in his mind. He resumed his walk through the sand, letting the feelings take a back seat to his current goal. He reached his destination soon enough, opening the door slowly and gently to not create a large disturbance. He saw Jeff resting now, Tempest walked his room like a caged animal, looking as if he needed to be free of his confines. Marcus waited fro Tempest to see him before moving any further, when he finally did he greeted him as warmly as he could. "Hi Marcus, what are you doing here at this time?" Marcus smiled at him as he walked toward him, stopping when he was with in arms reach. "I simply came by to see how you were doing, you faring well enough so far?" Tempest nodded to him, a weak smile on his face. Marcus needed a few more moments with him before he made his move, he continued the conversation as best he could. "You know, I saw that your name was Mark. I wanted to ask if people wondered if your real name was Markus?" Tempest took a few moments to think about it, clearly recalling the times. Marcus waited patiently for him to resume the conversation, and he did with in moments. "When I was a kid they use to ask me all the time, other kids did often. It got annoying fast." Marcus chuckled a bit. "I know the feeling, I was asked tons of times if I went by Marc. I prefer my real name over shortened ones, I feel people get rather lazy when they shorten a name." Tempest looked uncomfortable but he held a brave face, trying to see where the conversation was going. "Could you hold out your wrist for me please?" Tempest shifted before cautiously holding up his wrist. Marcus took it in his hand and pressed a rune into his wrist, Tempest looked at the rune with awe and curiosity. "Whats this for sir?" "Its so I can keep track of you. You are new to the team and I can't have anything bad happen to you with my new promotion. Sleep well Tempest." Marcus vanished once again out the door, smiling to himself at his new idea. The symbol on his wrist was the exact opposite of Ali's, the only thing similar was a sort of magnetic pull between them. Tempest's rune would keep him a short distance from Ali, keeping him from touching her anymore. He hoped this was enough, the boys eyes still left him uneasy and he was going to have to find out what the issue was. He made one last stop before returning back to his cabin, going to Ali and Demetri's cabin, he placed both hands on the door and spoke several words quietly, a large rune manifested itself on their door. Satisfied with his work, he turned away, this rune would let him know who entered the cabin. He needed to keep tabs where he could, their vacation could turn nasty at anytime. Especially with the winds acting up as the were, the ocean going in and out, tonight would be a rough not for everyone. These were his final thoughts as he slipped back into his cabin and settled into his mediation, the hourglass sitting before him as it dripped ever so slow, his mind flying off into the endless worlds he had never explored. When he finally came out of his meditation the sun shined brightly, the warmth on his face as he rose from his place on the floor and walked outside, seeing the sand had been heavily disturbed, the trees thrashed about leaving palm leave and other debris all over the place. He could only imagine what had happened last night, his mind wandered as he tried to understand how he had missed such a storm. Only when he saw the loko on Demetri and Ali's face did he understand what happened between them. "The storm makes more sense now." He said to himself as he casually walked on to the sand, finding a chair to settle in. He was starting to enjoy this vacation, even if it was only temporary. He could dwell on what he had seen in those other worlds later, he saw no danger in them, and that was the only thing that needed his attention these days.

Marcus was growing uncomfortable with all the changes that were happening within their team, their family. Cloak had informed him of his temporary promotion to Team Leader, Marcus had done his best to deny it, he recalled vividly how the conversation had gone. "Marcus, you will have to accept this role." Marcus shook his head at Cloak, waving it off as if it was a bad dream. "I'm not suited for command, there is a reason I accepted being the 'squad mage'." He said as he made air quotes. Cloak chuckled at Marcus' displeasure with the whole thing. "Everyone who has ever taken a role of command has never wanted to position, that is what makes them the best for the position." Marcus sighed as he rubbed his face with his tattooed hands. "Give it to someone else. Jason, let him lead, he's been in command before." "The fact he has been infected by the werewolf curse has eliminated him from any command position for the time being. They know they can't control him or the beast inside of him, you are the only one left." Marcus knew that was going to be his answer before he even spoke it. The trapped feeling he had felt then was creeping in to him again, now. After their conversation he and Cloak had gone and received Tempest, the young man had been excited to be a part of their team. He showed a sort of enthusiasm that made Marcus nervous, no one should be that excited to join one of the most high risk teams in the HDF. He had also seen something in his eyes, something that hinted at a greater power behind the boy that Marcus needed to watch out for. Now that the boy was here, his arms around Ali and his carefree expression, he was tempted to backhand him as you did when you disciplined a child. The connection Ali had made with Marcus only nights ago, had created a bond in his mind, she was his family now and he would protect her as Jason did. He looked to Demetri, who seemed to be taking it in strides, he was maintaining his composure but it could only last so long. Marcus had to approach the situation carefully. He trudged through the water to the potential fiasco. "Ah Tempest, its good to see you again." Marcus said has he snatched the boy by his shoulders and set him in front of him. His face seemed a little confused as he tried to turn while Marcus kept his grip firm. "Its good to see you too sir." He said rather unsure of himself, Marcus smiled at him. His tattooed face making the smile look dark, Tempests eyes wandered over Marcus body, the tattoos mesmerizing him as he started to realize the tattoos covered his entire body. "How was the HDF treating you? I know it must be very different from the days in your rouge unit." Tempest looked uncomfortable as he tried to squirm his way out of Marcus grip. "Well, we weren't exactly rouge..." "Of course you weren't, I simply misspoke. I'm sure you have plenty of stories you could tell us of your adventures in your old tema. Please, Pocket and I would love to hear them." He now had his arm around Mark's shoulder, pulling toward the shore where pocket sat with Lily and Tank. He kept looking back as Marcus held him tightly, he looked back momentarily at Ali and Demetri and winked at them before turning back, using his free hand to exaggerate his conversation with Tempest. OOC: Its small, but seemed the best way to go to get this bad boy moving again.

Marcus had isolated himself from the others that seemed to be his normal habit now. He felt vulnerable with the sickness in his body, even though his strength was returning and he was confident the poison would leave his system soon, he couldn't be sure when it would finally be purged. He sat cross-legged in one of the separate rooms, furniture moved to give him space and his robe was set aside as he tried to meditate without the use of his runes. The feat proved to be far more difficult than he could imagine, he had been with the use of his runes for most of his life now and without them, life proved to be fairly uncomfortable. Having gone weeks with intermittent meditation was taking its toll on his soul, weakening him and distorting this thoughts. He hadn't been able to find new information since his sickness and felt almost useless, his physical person the only thing he was able to offer. Marcus quickly grew fed up with his feeling of helplessness and rose from his seat, he walked over to his robe and searched through it before pulling out some paint and began to draw on the floor. He would suffer the pain for now, he would find and answer in the other side to his problem. The poison would soon be gone and he could continue his ethereal search for the next answer. When he finished the rune and sat down he heard the door open, his eyes snapping up to see who was entering moments before his ritual. To his surprise, it was Pocket who walked in, her expression seemed bored as she took a moment to register seeing Marcus sitting in the circle. She cocked her head to one side as she tried to understand what he was doing. "Marcus, why are you in a giant rune? You know you aren't suppose to use your powers unless and emergency." Marcus didn't answer as he closed his eyes and activated the rune. Pocket had been in mid-leap when his mind flitted from his body, and in this state, time stood still for Marcus. His mind receded into his own world, silent and dark, where he could do anything he needed too. But, his world seemed different, as if the world suffered from some ailment that he couldn't see. Suddenly, a green vein appeared in the world, as if it was breaking the very air and space. The sickening green vein was small, only big enough to be about as long as Marcus was tall. But it started to spread slowly, the darkness fought the vein but it still showed progress, no matter how slow. Marcus knew this was what was happening to him now, using his power fed it what it needed to keep growing. All he could do for now was turn away from it and look for the answer he came for. "Shadowthrone! Show yourself! I need answers!" The darkness thickened for a moment and then thinned out with an old man standing hunched over before Marcus, a thin smile covered his shadowed face. "Marcus my boy, so glad to see you again, I thought you were dead by now." He let out a cackle, Marcus kept his face straight. "I need the cure old man." "For what?" "For the sickness attacking my body!" Marcus threw one of his hands in the direction of the green vein, his progress grown since he last looked at it only moments ago. Shadowthrone giggled. "I wondered what that was. Looks nasty." "Its killing me." He said as he tried to keep the rage from his voice. "Nothing I can do about it, looks like you're a dead man Demos." Shadowthrone giggle was interrupted suddenly when Marcus' fist came across the old mans head, and audible crack followed as the old man was sent sprawling, his body vanishing as he hit the floor, appearing beside Marcus rubbing his head. "That really hurt Marcus, can't believe you hit me!" Marcus didn't turn at the sound of his voice, he couldn't look at him right now. "You just told me i'm going to die, what did you expect?" "You just needed to wait. Right now, there is no cure. All you need to do is let down your barriers you keep up, the release of power you've let build up inside of you will vaporize the sickness instantly." "I can't do that." "Why not? You're the one who wants to live!" Shadowthrone screeched at him, Marcus suddenly felt the need to hit him again. "I'll die if I do that, and everyone around me for 200 miles will die as well. I can't control that energy." Shadowthrone jabbed him with his cane. "You're a fool, you just need the right conditions and it will be alright." Marcus fought the rage back as his gazed focused on Shadowthrone. He wasn't getting anywhere else with this man, he needed to move on. "Is there anything you can tell me about these events lately?" Shadowthrone stroked his chin with his other hand and hummed to himself. "Only that you should be aware of what Mr. Talon is up to. He tried to kill a god, the mortal shell is gone but the god itself still roams free. He is quite angry, I wouldn't recommend summoning him again." Marcus pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a sigh. "Of course he did, if he is good at anything, it is pissing off people." Shadowthrone giggled again. "Thats all for you mr. Demos, last thing, be cautious about others. Especially if they harbor feelings for another. So long!" With that he vanished, Marcus was sucked out from his world and back into reality. The sudden impact of Pocket tackling him caught him by surprise, forgetting all about her she took him down and tried to pin him. She was far too small but she tried very hard, much to Marcus' amusement. "Pocket, what are you doing!" Marcus said between a laugh. She looked up at him with a grumpy look. "You're not suppose to use you're powers mister!" Marcus smiled at her. "I'm fine Pocket, thank you for caring. Can you let me up please?" Pocket stood up and crossed her arms at him. "I'm watching you." Marcus stood up as well and dressed in his rob, patting Pocket on her head he walked out into the living area of the hotel room and seated himself on a chair near the bathroom. After several minutes he notice Ali approaching the bathroom. "Are you alright? You look Pale." "I'm fine! Just and upset stomach." Marcus went back to his own thoughts, not catching what Pocket said as Ali disappeared into the bathroom. He remained seated, looking through his mind for what Shadowthrone had meant at the end of their conversation. Trust was something he didn't give freely, everyone he had ever met was thoroughly checked through whatever means he had. The entire team had been researched through their files, Jason he had learned through his other connections through his magic. He didn't however, know what the others did for trust. He would have to keep a close eye on whoever decided to join them. He looked around and saw that the others were starting to doze off, it had been quite and they needed a lead on this rouge group before pursuing. The minutes slipped away and Marcus started to fall back into his own mind, traveling the cos ways for whatever information he could pull when suddenly he heard a scream in his head. 'Marcus!' The voice sounded so much like Masan, his heart lept in his chest as he then realized he felt the distinct magic of the rune. Its magic was burning fierce now, the danger great to the bearer. It was Ali who was calling him, he rose swiftly and pushed open the bathroom door to find it empty. His eyes were wide as he saw it empty, Ali was not in the hotel room. He rushed over to Demetri's room and bashed open the door, finding Demetri laying down waiting for his love. "Ali is gone Demetri, she is in danger, get Cloak here now!" Demetri sprang to life from the bed, no questions were spoken as he grabbed his cellphone and instantly called up Cloak. He appeared instantly, his face drawn a bit with the secret he held. "Where is she Cloak?" Marcus yelled before Demetri could speak, Cloak told them without hesitation where she was and why she was there. Marcus face was dark and Demetri stared in horror. "Take us there now, Demetri and I will go first, come back for the others." Cloak obeyed as he covered them both and they vanished, appearing on the bridge in the darkness. They both rushed forward, seeing the ash float by as they heard a man howl and the clinking of metal against metal. A fight was happening and a fog had rolled into to obscure it, Marcus rushed to the feeling of Magic, it burned in his brain now. So fiercely he was sure it would glow like a sun in this fog, sure enough he could see it in and rushed ahead of Demetri, he needed to know it was Masan's voice. He saw her laying there, as if it was 10 years ago, Masan dying on ther ground. Her stomach torn up from where Sybille had killed her, she still breathed, just as he remembered, and could only stare at her as Demetri when and lifted her head from the ground, setting it in her lap. He was weeping as he looked at her ravaged wounds, Marcus couldn't draw any closer, it wasn't until he heard her talking did he move again. "Marcus, don't let them get away with this again. Don't let me die, everything is so cold. Please stop them Marcus, stop them!" Marcus looked out into the fog, seeing it pulling away as he saw Jason fighting off two vampires, he was holding his own but he was taking hits. Marcus ran forward, catching the female vampire off guard as he brought a foot up and smashed it into her ribs, the magic flaring brighter than ever before as the vampire fell to her knees and hissed at him. He attempted to strike her face when the male vampire shoved him with both hands, sending Marcus through the air. He landed on his hands and feet and slid across the asphalt. He charged forward again, his robe flapping frantically in the wind as he furiously lashed out with his fists. His concentration was broken, he could only see her dying again, he could only managed glancing blows and to take hits as his thoughts floated. He was sure he would be joining her soon went he felt the soothing waves take over, her voice broke into his mind again. 'Don't give up Marcus, let it all out. Don't be afraid anymore, just let it all go Marcus." He felt his barriers fall, all of the precautions he had set up to protect the power he let them all go. The Magic surge through him, giving him a life and vitality he had never felt before, the tattoos on his body flared bright blue. His entire body glowed from the power he had now, and he wasn't about to waste it. He renewed his attack, hitting harder and swifter than before, every blow caused an absurd amount of light that brought the vampires down quickly. With the renewed assault from both Jason and Marcus, the vampire fell back. The bright blue glow seemed to not only distract them, but caused harm to their eyes as well. With that, Jason brought the sword down on the male vampire, passing through its chest, pulling the sword out it went back through the vampires stomach. Marcus took that moment to suddenly come down on the females leg, snapping it before lashing out with a hand that smashed through her ribs. She gasped as best she could with Marcus holding her heart, he crushed it in his hand and she vaporized into dust, her mate followed. Jason trudged over to his sister, the fight clearly having taken its toll on him. Marcus walked back to Masan's body, only to see it was Ali now, blinking his eyes to make sure he was seeing right before approaching. The blow glow persisting, making Marcus look like a giant night light. He knelled beside Ali as he touched his hand to her wrist, magic flowing from his hands through her rune, the magic sealing the wound as best it could with no proper healing. "You used the rune to enter my mind, you truly are a powerful empath. And an amazing person, thank you Ali." She looked up at him and smiled through red teeth, Marcus still saw Masan in her smile, everything she did now reminded him of her. He was going to have to protect her better now, she knew his mind now, he could only hope that she couldn't dive deep enough to know what he knew. The others arrived moments later, he couldn't look up at them, simply staring at Ali trying to hold on to Masan for as long as he could.

He has shoulder length black hair that has a few braided strands with fetishes braided in. He typically wears studded leather jerkin and earth colored pants and boots, the one things that really sets him different than others is the crow feathered cape he wears constantly. Personality: Coltaine had learned from many years to remain cool headed, hardly will he ever strike first or resort to violence as his first method of problem solving. He is rather well known for his tactical mind set and his rather cold nature when it comes to interactions. "Thank the gods we found her." Marcus whispered to himself as he stood against the door frame, the fight with Demetri had taken more out of him than he thought it would. He slowly pushed off from the frame and proceeded to walk through the hall down to the stair way, he spotted Jason standing on the stairwell. Marcus stopped in front of him and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Give them some time Jason, seeing you didn't jog her memory enough. Maybe he will." Jason snorted at the comment. "It's stupid to believe that, she keeps going further deeper into this **** because of him. He tried to kill us for gods sake!" "So have you Jason, you've stuck those claws into my skin a few times now." Marcus retorted in a calm voice. He could see Jason was getting riled up, this point would have usually brought out the wolf in him, but with all the daily training it was becoming easier for Jason to exert control. At this point, Jason had only two runes on his body, and these only provided a safety net for Jason. Marcus was relieved when he saw Jason start to calm down, he simply sat against the rail crossing his arms and nestling into his own thoughts. The mystic bowed his head to Jason and proceeded down the stairs, they were pretty destroyed before, hardly anything had been left to traverse. But, thankfully they had been able to get a crew in here to repair the manor, plus a few members who had the ability to control the materials and fashion them into the right pieces made the process that much faster. Marcus saw the other team members as he head to his own room, Pocket and Lily were currently coloring to their hearts content while Tank was sitting on in a chair beside Lily and watched their progress. Jeff was nowhere in sight and Sasa was passed out asleep on one of the couches, sprawled out all over the place Marcus had to chuckle a little a the sight. Others were seen about but he was nearing his room and focused only on that. When he finally arrived and went in and sat on his bed, he had asked Tank to take the bed out but Madam Touch had denied the request even when Marcus explained how he didn't sleep. She had said it would be better suited for the room if they ran out of space and needed to house more member's.Marcus reached over to his night stand picked up the picture he had taken, examining the details of the photo still made him grin. Especially the ridiculous smile he had put on while Jason had his muzzle pulled back, exposing his razor teeth. Marcus would keep this photo for several lifetimes. If I make it that long. He thought to himself as he gingerly touched new scar on his chest, still pink and sensitive to the touch, it had been weeks since that fight with Sybille and it had taken his body that long to heal the wound enough to form a scar. Fortunately the runes had manifested themselves over the scar, making Marcus feel relieved that he didn't need to go through the tattooing process to fill in the blanks. He didn't use his powers these days, the poison from Sybille's blade was potent against his blood and it ran through his body now. Every time he drew a new rune, every time he refreshed one, he felt his energy drop and his body went slightly numb. The more he used his powers the more he felt like a corpse, at one point he had started to internally bleed at his joints, the dark splotches had spread through out his body after one of their search missions. Madam Touch was gonna try to heal him when he turned her away, yelling and thrashing weakly as he kept her away from him. He didn't know how the poison would affect her, he didn't want to risk it since he couldn't even cure himself right now. Soon enough, the splotches vanished and he began to look more like a person again, that was a sign for him that his body was fighting it as long as he didn't use his powers. So, all he did now was go for an observation party, he wasn't the most discreet but he was able to use his knowledge to concoct different methods of finding their lost team leader. He set the picture aside and rose from his bed, he was about to do his rounds around the estate. It wasn't necessary but he had to keep his mind occupied while he waited for another lead, any lead was a good one at this point. He had lied to Demetri about his rune, well slightly lied, he had a general direction she was in but go farther than 10 steps from the estate and he lost her connection. It had been enough that had keep him hopeful, the rune would keep telling him her direction as long as her heart still beat, and it had proven to be successful in the end. He looked around at the gardens, taking time to enjoy the flowers and the hard work that went into maintaining these grounds. He came across Blues sitting on one of the garden benches. His swords weren't in his possession this time, he had changed out of his squad uniform and wore simple jeans with a navy blue shirt, and the bandanna still around his neck, the color worn from it and a few holes could be seen through it. Marcus seated himself beside Blues and stretched out, letting out a groan as he did so. "Do you really only own blue clothing? I mean good gods man, you look like a blue otter pop!" Blues couldn't help but laugh out loud, tilting his head back so you could hear the robustness of it all. "These are actually not my clothes, I only had the uniform. These are Demetri's clothes." "From when? When he was 10 years old?" Both of them laughed at that one. "Marcus, what happened to you 10 years ago?" "What do you mean, I've been on missions like everyone else." "Except your file says you haven't been back to an HDF base since you were 22 years old. You've been in the field all that time." Marcus face darkened as the memory came back from all those years ago. "What else did you read in my files Blues?" He shrugged his shoulders. "Just that you're squad met their end six month prior to your disappearance. Nothing else was mentioned and everyone believes that is the reason you vanished." Marcus focused his gaze on Blues. "And what do you think Blues?" "I think there is more to it. Everyone attributed too much to Masan, I understand you wanting to kill Sybille for that, but you could have collected the most Elite units and we could have all gone after him. You did it for other reasons." Marcus couldn't help but show a grin on his face. "You were always smarter than anyone thought, you could have been a detective Blues." "Well I try. Now, Why did you disappear?" Marcus let out a deep breath, trying to think where he should start. "Blues, first tell me how you got your powers." Blues shrugged as he spoke the answer. "I was born with them, just like everyone else." Marcus nodded. "That is correct, we're all born with gifts. However, it has been discovered that almost all of us are genetically made with our powers already inside of us. My family, however, were not born with our powers like that, ours were given to us by a god, if my family was told correctly. Ours powers are made of pure magic." Blues nodded. "That is an interesting story, still doesn't explain why you left." "I'm getting there Blues, patience is key my friend. Anyways, every male in my family has the same power. We can all control runes, its always been that way and every boy born with these powers varies in strength. When I was born I was able to produce runes out of thin air, destroyed my room multiple times and was able to dispel all the runes my father used to keep me in my crib." Blues let out a laugh with the last statement. "Now I know why he was always so angry when we told him those stories about escaping from jail those times, and when you made that mail box explode, that was priceless." Marcus gave Blues a swift smack on the back of his head. "I only blew up the mail box because you bet me 20 bucks to do it, which you still owe me. Now let me finish dammit!" Blues held his hands up as his laughter slowly died out. "Anyways, since our powers are magic based they aren't limited to one body, they can go where ever the host wills them." "You can give up your powers if you want?" Marcus shifted uncomfortable as he searched for the next works. "I can, but I wouldn't want too." Blues had a confused look on his face. "If or when we will our powers to another, it takes our life force with it. Willing our powers away kills us." Marcus stated blatantly, Blues eyes widened as he started to see where the story was going. "Did your father...." "My father and my grandfather did." Marcus said as he ended Blues sentence. Blues was shocked now, leaning against the bench with a dumbfounded look. "Why would they both will them to you?" "They knew about Sybille at the time, they also knew about Masan and decided they would give me the power to destroy him." "And why haven't you Marcus? If you really are that strong." Marcus sighed. "Because I'm pretty sure if I unleashed all the magic in me, I would destroy me and probably anyone in a 200 mile radius. I can control my own energy and some of what my father gave me. The rest I keep barricaded in my body, shielded away because its too much for me now. In a 100 years i'll be able to let it out without worry but that's too much time, my meditation speeds it up to a degree but not enough. I spent those 10 years trying to control my powers again, Sybille became a side project until now" Blues felt as if his mind had just been blown away, the floor had been pulled out from under him and he was now falling through the abyss. He didn't know what to say, he had known Marcus for almost 20 years now, he thought he would have been informed of this. Blues rose from the bench and looked down at his friend. "I'm going for a walk, come find me later. Go be with your team, mystic, they needed you more right now." Blues disappeared after that, Marcus stood from the bench and went back inside, sitting on the floor beside Pocket as they continued to color. My case of death has subsided for today, it looks like it'll be a better week for recovery. Anyways, I have some small things planned for Blues and Marcus, so, avoid killing Blues for now please. Thank you very much and thank you all for the get wells.
