well from your own analysis, i think i was kinda too used to blood and gore to actually notice those parts :D i've seen roadkills, one girl dead from a successful scuicide attempt and pretty bad injuries that might need the body part to be amputated if possible.so a punctured arm(in see me?)...is rather minor.maybe you could make it a slit?

i love your background (as usual).its got an energetic,impulsive feel to it.but i find the word abit out of place, especially when the image is somewhat 2D and the word is 3D...then again, one man's meat is another man's poison:D

i dont really [I]get[/I] what your pictures meant.all i saw was a gothic and depressed feel with a few crosses around.my guess is you're christian, right?maybe not after all, considering the way you put the crosses... anyway one thing for sure, they are great work, requiring a lot of effort and time, i can see that.you have a unique style others will find hard to copy, unlike others you set the style, not follow it. :D not a very good review, i know, but hey, i tried.keep it up, you can go far :p

yay!more reviews, and critical reviews too!thank ye all i'll strive to improve my graphic designing skills.i'm still trying to figure out how to make the border irregular, and not just deleted with the polygon lasso tool but something like using a brush to erase it...something like risingsun's current banner... if anyone has any idea plsplspls tell me.the banners were not made with just OB in mind.so they tend to be the opposite colour of the banner's background.which usually ends up white(the border, not the backgrnd) btw is it just my computer or is it everyone's problem cos i can't see any images in OB at the moment...not even the bulb next to people's names saying whether they are online or not... oh, photobucket's undergoing upgrading.but i can see the avatars...i think i'm getting really confused

thanks.well, most of the time spent on any banner is when i'm extracting them.i don't really put too much effort in the background and effects, partly because i can't do much to them anyway i think i can still be considered pretty much a newbie when it comes to graphic designing.like i said, i started a month ago.still, thanks for the wonderful review! i'm not sure whether its the right time to post this but, i'm still gonna. retri's banner is better.sun's isn't as good as his past works, partly because it isn't following the abstract theme, also because the turtle popping out of nowhere seems out of place... so my vote goes to retribution :animesmil

lol.u sure lied.anyway, as for the mugen one, i extracted it, put in the background and scanlines and word and thats it.plain and simple. :D guilty as charged.well i've only started learning adobe photoshop 6th may this year...i got the exact date cos i joined another forum on exactly the same date :animesmil anyway, the reason why the few banners below satoshi onwards were not as well blended and all was because i did them when i just started.i stopped banner making for awhile then made the satoshi banner and mugen image, then the bleach one.so the earlier tries had to border since i didn't know how to make the border in the first place thanks for your review, though it wasn't nearly as bad as i imagined any review would be oh and the satoshi one, i pulled it to the left abit more than needed cos i wanted satoshi's right eye to be visible and the left to be covering the other image so that i could blur it off, putting more focus to the right eye....maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all... :(

that tutorial is rather vague...for me who has no idea as to how to use adobe image ready at all. anybody else has anything that is simpler to understand, or at least more detailed like where to click to get a frame or tween in adobe image ready if i must use image ready... :animedepr i'm still stuck

all your banners are great!how'd you make the backgrounds?they're always so artsy and attractive. maybe its just me but i really like abstract art so these kinda backgrounds appeal to me a lot

i would say the second banner is better but if you could sorta not make the girl's face so squashed at the sides it would look nicer

i saw all 3 of your pics and here's what i think: first one- its kind of plain and your characters are a bit too "in your face".plus they're all cluttered in one place so it makes the viewer kind of focus into that corner and ignore the rest. second one- its cool(no pun intended ).and like your other two pictures, the extraction was great, if you did extract it.once again, its rather plain and bare.maybe you could try to make more background? third- plain background again.and you did that for your mother?wow, you got a pretty funky mother, to like this kinda stuff :bellylol: then again, maybe its just me :D p.s i'm honoured you've kept the signture and avatar i made for you for so long :animesmil
