1. I have already reccomended this manga in a similar thread, but I think it applies especially well to you because it has all those genres you mention in it. Tuxedo Gin. If you are into all that you mentioned, go, go GO buy it NOW! You're definitely going to love it. I drescribed it in length in that other thread, so you can read it here if you want detailed information. Mine is the 3rd post. But I'm almost 100% sure you'll love it. (^_^) Good luck!
 2.
Okay! Who has read Kare First Love? ^_^ The minute I read the first volume, I decided it was deffinately a keeper and I bought it. Same with Mars and Hana-kimi. Has anyone read any of these mangas? ^_^ They're all interesting romances. Hopefully you do and don't worry, I love spoilers!!! Feel free to pm them to me. ^_~ On another side-note. Full Moon wo Sagashite is a great anime. ^_^ I only just read the manga, so I won't say which one is better or worse until I've seen further. Thanks for visiting! ^_~ Don't forget to drop a hello or visit the otaku site!! Thanks again!!!
Kare first love is GREAT!!! \(^.^)/ It's one of my favorite mangas. I think the tone work in it is especially beautiful. I once was lucky enough to have a boyfriend who was really just as caring as Kiriya. It never ceases to amaze me the similarities I find between them, hehe. (^^); Sadly, I was allergic to his perfume, but back then I didn't know that was the reason I had a headache whenever I was with him, so I left him. Heh... sorry, kinda got out of subject. Besides the tone work, I think Kaho Miyasaka's one of the best artists I've seen when it comes to facial expressions. I've seen Kiriya's face express emotions in a way I'd never seen in any character in any other manga before! My favorite frame is right after he tells Karin to "Go home!" when she's waiting for him to get back from work, remember? The face he makes after she dashes past him, it's such a beautiful drawing. (^.^) Sigh... He's pretty hot. And what do you think of Hiromu? He's a little creepy sometimes, but good looking too, neh? ^^
 3.
i've been reading naruto for a wile now and i've finished all the volumes in stires and i've read 269 chapters online. i've also read all volumes of bleach there are out. but now that i've finished reading all of my favorite mangas that are out i'm really bored :animesigh so wut i wanted to ask is wut are some of the mangas that u guys read that u would recomend to somebody like me (and plz, no shojo). thanx![/FONT']
Well, I'm a girl, but I read a lot of shonen, so here go my reccomendations. I suggest you give Tuxedo Gin (by Tokihiko Matsuura) try. It's a really cool, original story about a 17 year old guy, Ginji Kusanagi, who gets himself killed in an accident, and is offered the chance of animal reincarnation. The deal is that once he lives the normal course of his animal life and dies of natural causes, he can go back to his human body, since he wasn't supposed to die when he did. So Ginji chooses to be reborn as a penguin, because the girl he loves, Minako, has a big passion for them. Besides being funny and touching at times, too, there's a lot of action (Ginji's just made his debut as a pro boxer when the story starts) and the art is very good. Also, it's what I consider to be just the right length-- 15 volumes. So far, Vol.12 has come out. The series should be over by the end of this year. Another one would be Qwan, by Aki Shimizu. I think it's pretty short, just 3 volumes (I have Vol. 1 and 2) but there might be more, I'm not sure. It's an interesting, creepy story set in ancient China, about a boy who eats demons. You ought to give that a try, too. Anyway, good luck! (^_^)
 4. Hi! I I have all four volumes. It's a great story! It was the very first one I completed, since it's pretty short (^_^) I think some parts were a bit corny, especially in the first volume, but overall I really liked this manga. And the short story in the last volume is also great! But I couldn't help thinking that Akira and Aya weren't really DEEPLY in love. It seemed more like infatuation to me, even in the end. Who knows? Maybe she would end have ended up with Tetsuya if the story had continued? Hehe. He did say he loved her after all... Oh, and wasn't it annoying when Tokyopop changed the cover design? I liked the first one so much better! If they start a series they should keep the design the same until the end, I think. (-_-) By the way, there is another book by Hinako Ashihara that was recently published, S.O.S. It's just a collection of short stories, but pretty good. However, I found her character design way too similar to Forbidden Dance. Anyway, nice to meet a fellow fan! (^_^)/
 5.
O__O ?!?! SUGO !! Your self portrait is amazing... Did you drew it by hand ? or use some art programs ?? I dont know ... coz It's so neat !! XD !!! (and cute ^ ^) Great job !!!! I'm new as well ! Joined yesterday and I'm feeling a bit lost T__T ... Does it mind you if I add you in my friend list ? ^ ^ ! I dont have much yet LOL
Hi there, thanks for your feedback! (^_^) Though I don't really add people to my friendlist because I'm not online enough for that. I am drawing all the time, so I'm not likely to have time to chat... sorry. Anyway, if you take a little time to read my post, you'll know how my drawing was made-- hand drawn and inked, and then scanned into photoshop and toned with the computones filter. If you want to draw manga too, I really recommend getting that book! Again, thank you for your comment!
 6.
Hi, I'm new, too, I just joined today. ^___^ Now, I think you did a very great job with it. I overall love the chibi-style, and the eyes came out gorgeous. I like the flowers on her shirt, too. Overall, she's adorable, and if I could rate this on a scale of 1-10, I'd honestly give it an 8 or 9.
Wow, thank you. (*^.^*) Thank you very much! I'll keep trying harder. Thank you everyone for your kind critics and comments. By the way, I posted another image on another thread a while ago: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=48001 But nobody seems to have looked at that one much, heh... I usually post my images on my blog, so you can see more there if you like. Thanks again!
 7.
Welcome to the forum Marina! As for the drawing, Cuuute! xD I love the shading tones you used to make it look very anime & manga oriented. Though I don't consider it a portrait so much as like a chibi portrait, I guess?
Indeed. ^_^ Normally I'd hate drawing myself, but somebody asked me to draw this for them, and then I thought I could use it for my blog too. The tones I used are the ones you get when you buy the HTDM Computones book, vol.1.
It definitely has a unique feel to it, i just wish you had more to show with it. But it is wellly drawn, keep it up. just show us some more please! :catgirl:
Hi, and thank you. I have posted one more drawing in this forum so far, which you can find here. I don't have many random pics to post because I'm mostly working on my manga every night, until 5.00am. Until I finish it I hardly have time to draw anything else, and once that is done I can't show it online, I have to submit it. But everything else I draw, I promise I'll post it here. (^_^) Thank you both for your comments!
 8.
If you ever have this problem again, don't be afraid to ask a Moderator to move a thread for you. We don't bite. ^_~ *moves to proper forum*
Thank you so much. ^_^ And, Ouhokan, thank you, too, I really appreciate the feedback! Marina
 9. Thank you so much for your feedback, Ima. Now that you say it, maybe she does look a little like Rin (^_^);; Didn't mean to, though. But, her personality is strikingly different. Her name is Jing Lan, by the way. Because she's so young, she speaks no english at all, even though during most of the story she is living in the States. So when she speaks in the manga and there is an english-speaking person present, I show her speech as actual chinese text :animesmil
 10. Hi there. I made another drawing, and made sure to put this one in the right forum. Whew! :animesigh Anyway. It looks grayscale-ish because it was resized from the original printing size. Therefore the tone can't be seen properly, sorry about that! It was hand drawn and inked, then toned in photoshop with Computones. This four year old chinese girl is part of the manga I'm currently working on (it's almost done- I'm over halfway the inking stage). I drew her trying to feed a snail after the rain. I sincerely appreciate your constructive criticism! Thank you so much. Bye now!
 11. Hi Lix, Thank you so very much for your feedback. I've learned to accept my weird toes (and hands) as part of my freaky style. You see, before I got into manga, I always drew in a conventional, more "disney-like" style. I started drawing seriously when I turned 13 and just kept drawing my first characters, mostly chubby elves and dragons and the like, for 8 years. I started drawing manga-style two years ago, and I think some things of my old style will never leave me (^_^); Also I started drawing humans only a year ago! So they look pretty sketchy compared to my weird critters, elves and animals, which I can draw almost perfectly. But I'm getting better everyday. Months ago, I hated inking so much I thought I couldn't become a comic book artist because of it. But now I can finally do it and enjoy it a lot, too. I am so thrilled that you think it's any good at all! (^.^) Well, thank you so much for your comments again. Bye!
 12. Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to this forum. My name is Marina and like many here i'm an aspiring manga artist. I thought I could put up one of my drawings and get some feedback from you guys, if you would be so kind to give me your opinion. (^_^) This is a self portrait that I made for my blog. But since I originally toned it to be printed, I had to resize it for getting it online, which messed up the tone a little bit, sorry. (^ ^); It was hand drawn and inked, then scanned and toned in the computer. Ok, please tell me what you think. Thank you! --- NOTE: I think I posted this on the wrong place. I should have put it in the Art Studio, I think, but I don't know how to move the post there. Waah. (>_
 13. Hi there. My reccomendation is Tuxedo Gin, by Tokihiko Matsuura. Very funny, original and unique. One of my favorite mangas! It has action and romance and well as an absolutely adorable main character- a penguin! It's also not too short, not too long- 15 volumes, which I think is a perfect lenght. Last volume to come out was number 12, so the story is almost done. Well, I hope you like it. Bye now!
 14. I'm excluding Ranma 1/2 because it will probably always be the funniest manga ever for me no matter what else comes out... (^_^) The funniest manga I've read lately is Happy Hustle High. I highly reccomend it!
