Gah. *thunk* You didn't offend me. I just don't take critism well. I'm just used to knowing what I based my picture off of, and in an instance like this, where you would need the picture to compare my drawing to, it's hard for my brain to realise that most people just don't have that book sitting on the coffee table right next to them. And yes, I worked on this picture (ok, so it only took a day, but it pretty much took the whole darned day!) but I was trying to imitate the sketchy style that Renga used. In how her dress doesn't exactly connect with her body, how her bangs aren't connected fully, how her braids are messy . . . I didn't want it professional. I wanted it to look like I really didn't care about what I drew. O_o;; I'm not sure if I'm looking at my picture correctly, but I'm just not seeing where her legs look funny. How don't they connect to the rest of her body? And yeah, Semmie, they're shorter. ^^;; If you stare at the picture from a distance (or when it's smaller, because my drawing book isn't nearly that big), her hand looks better. ^^;; I also got lazy by the time I was drawing the hand. I was sick and tired of drawing, so I honestly didn't care how it turned out right then. Also, should I ink the picture, or should I leave it in pencil? --Sere

Wow. You have a lot of time on your hands, don't you? O_o;; One thing though, on the Chobits one, her name is more commonly spelled "Chi", not "Chii". Common mistake. And my favourites would have to be the: Chobits one (soft spot for anything Chobits related), the Blue Sub 6 one (that show/movie rocks!) and the Sephiroth one (because my Seppie is just such a bishie!). I would have mentioned the Sonic one, but I'm more partial to just Sonic, Miles, and Knuckles, because they're just the original characters (from the original Sega games). The newer characters still have to find a way to worm themselves into my heart. *envy* I want Photoshop . . . >>;;

Art Yanamaria (Finished character, take a peek.)
Sere Tuscumbia replied to Sara's topic in Creative Works
EEE!! As incredibly disturbingly cute as it is, I just wanna huggle your little doll! And yes, I too like the first picture the best. Maybe because I'm used to seeing that style in your drawings (such as Picobyte) The sketches are interesting, and I like the little dots on Yanamaria's cheeks in the second one. It almost makes her look like she's crying. Suits her well. Very good! ^_^ --Sere -
Ok, I'm going to straighten some things out right now. First, yes I did use the "New Generation of Manga Artists" book, and I enjoy that book greatly. Mainly because it has Clamp style artwork. Second, yes, I did use a picture from that book to do this. It was only for practise (as I mentioned before) so I wasn't focusing on perfect. The picture I was basing this off of was about 2 times smaller, and sketched. I was trying to imitate the sketched style in the way I drew. And now, replies: Syk: Yeah, no shading. I did that on purpose. I'm afraid that when I post up these pictures I don't tell the whole story behind them. Since it was -- pretty much -- a sketch of a sketch, I didn't want to use shading. The only "shading" I used was on her hair, because I felt that it needed to stand out from the picture a bit more. And yes, her waist is extremely long. I had to do that to make it work. And plus, I just think it makes her look cool. ^_^ Semmie: Her arm is big? Hmm, I really didn't notice that. I think you're just looking at the sleeve of the school jacket. I also screwed up on the arm, so it does look weird. ^^;; And her hand isn't rolled in any way. Her fingers may actually be that short. I think it's just that the glove makes it look weird. Rhys: Yes, I know about the waist. ^^;; That's every one's main focus. However, I found that I wasn't going to be able to finish the picture without completely starting over (and -- in the fact that I had already been working for 4 hours on it in an unairconditioned feed store -- I wasn't going to start over any time soon) unless I messed with her waist a little. Maladjusted: Just following what the artist did. If Renga (the artist) had drawn (and coloured) a professional picture of that sketch, her hair would have looked different. Yes, it looks like it isn't even connected to the rest of her hair, but that is how the sketch looks. Seriously, am I going to have to scan that picture in and show you people what I mean? And her braids? God, who cares about how thick they are? O_o;; Also, her legs? Again, just following what Renga did. Cera: O_o;; Her head does that? *looks again* I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but okies. O_o;; >>;;

Yeah, when I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I got bored and did what? Yeah, drew. It was just for practice, and I had expected the picture to come out crappy, but it's turned out nice, and I'm quite proud of it. The only problem is: I drew the picture with the intention of giving it to someone. Thus the reason that I didn't really care if it came out that great or not. And now that I've become so attached to the picture, I don't wanna give it up. Should I? Comments, critisms, anything welcome, please. (Ok, no flaming. You will have to die a slow and painful death . . . ) --Sere

I don't really hide online. However, people who know me IRL tend to say that I'm a lot more humourous online than I am in person. I open up a lot more online, and I think it's because if I mess up and say something stupid, you don't know who I am, you've never seen me, and you can't hang it over my head. But I used to hide (not here though. Never here.) behind a false personality both online and offline (although they were differing personalities), and it really screwed with my brain. So I learned my lesson, and now I just act the same way I do offline, here. And it hasn't killed me yet, has it? ^_~ --Sere

OOC: Ohkami, not to be rude or anything but -- can you not READ?! I have read the Recruitment, and I have read Justin's first post, and this takes place in 765 AD. As in, even before the Medieval Ages. This is a long, long time ago. The Muslims still ruled Spain and such. This is still the Iron Age. Weapons are crude, heavy. Are you starting to get just how long ago this is? And you know, Justin has every right to tell me I'm wrong if this is wrong. But from what I've read, this is a very long time ago. And if I am wrong, then perhaps Justin should have made time changes a little more clearer. ^_~ And also Justin, a little question too. In The Clan of the Wolf definition, it mentions that -- and I quote -- "They are very secluded, but make their hatred for anything besides humans well-known." Therefore, a Were would be unable to join (thus referring to you Ohkami, gomen!) Were would the Were's belong then? Yes, I read everything over and over again to make sure I'm right when I type my first post. It comes in handy. */-/* Will finish postie when have time. Finals tomorrow and such. --Sere

Heh. Browsing is fun. Using that "search for user's other posts" option is fun too. ^_^ Yeah, it's in the profile. I luff using that option. ^_~ And the Mimi avvie is quite cute too, Sara. Mimi always hold a special place in my heart. ^_______^ And I remember your little picobyte (ok, not sure on that) thread a few weeks back or so. Those little cuties would make good avatars also. ^_^ --Sere *EDIT* The exact words of the option are: "Search for all posts by this user." That is a really nifty option. ^_^

Oh, come on AG (I prefer to use older names, gomen) you can't tell me that there's not at least one person that you're just like, glued to the hip with! Because if you tell me that you have no friends --using my definition or not (although I thought that my definition was pretty broad) -- I shall have to sigh, shake my head, and deem you unfixable. ^_~ Everyone's got friends, but there's just different levels in friendship. Everyone's definition of friendship is right, but they all fall into different levels, some more casual than others. It depends on the individuals standards. And yes, I have high standards. I just think that getting screwed over by someone who could be considered a friend is a pretty crappy thing. So you have friends, I'm sure you do! ^_^ --Sere
-
Friendship to me, is someone who will forgive you, time and time again when you disagree on something. It is something much deeper than the person you sit next to in school, and who will forget you over the summer. Friendship means that even when you're in the worst situation possible, that your friend will stick beside you through it all. You laugh with friends, you cry with friends, you triumph and fail with friends, and even though they have seen through every guise, and witnessed your worst mistakes, they still accept you for who you are. Friendship is the thing that keeps a person going, making them live and thrive and succeed. It is their light in a dark place, the saviour for the sinners. Friendship can never be truely explained. It has to be felt instead . . . you have to touch it, taste it, live it. That's what friendship is to me. --Sere

Save me a spot as , will yah? Dinner. --Sere Character name: Princess Peach Toadstool Character personality: Peach is a headstrong little gal, but with her being abducted by Bowser all of the time, one can expect it by now. She's used to getting her way, and although she's quite feminine, mess with her and she'll put a whuppin' on you! ^_^ Blonde to the core, Peachy's bubble-headedness can prove to be an annoyance at times, but it still manages to be cute. (And plus, it's just really fun to hear "Buh bye!" or "Peachy's got it!" whenever she smacks someone with a Koopa shell! ^_~) Home: The Castle in Mushroom Kingdom (bwhahahahahaha!) Other: Make comments about the pink dress, and Peach will have to pull out her umbrella and slap the bejesus out of you (referring to SSB: Melee). Enjoys jumping in the air and floating for a short time (Super Mario Brothers 2) and baking (Super Mario 64). I love Peach soooooooo much. ^_^ Is it obvious? Peachy rocks. And yes, I know that there are two different versions of Peach's name. Princess Peach, or Princess Toadstool. I just simplified it and made it Princess Peach Toadstool. See? All better now.

Hmm. The only thing I have a problem with is your incorrect use of the ellipsis. It needs to be "(space).(space).(space).(space)", instead of "..." Yeah, I'm picky 'bout that. ^^;; The text takes up too much space, in my opinion. A second picture may or may not work, depending on what the picture is and where it's placed. The rest is just peachy to me! ^_____^ --Sere

Hee, on the last one, he can just use his imagination! ^_~ I still have to say, the spirit one is my favourite. Nothing beats blue! ^______^ --Sere
-
Nwyar. That rocks so much. Hee, first time I saw the soul one, I automatically went "HOT WAX!!!" ^_____^ I luff the hot wax effect. And in the spirit one, if you look in the bottom right corner, than it looks faintly like a dragon head. Sweet. So, so sweet. You're the coolest! ^_____^ --Sere

O_o;; I so didn't get that . . . *looks at title* Oh wait, I get it! ^^;; Ok, took me a bit, but I finally got it. Go me!! ^^ For sketches, those are both very good. They could use a little work, but they are sketches. They aren't meant to be the most perfect works of art in the world! ^_^ And plus, I've never seen Subaru, so hey, don't know what she looks like . . . ^^;; Very good! I likes! --Sere

*shrugs* Won't kill me. Name:Serenity Race:Archangel Weapons(moderate): A long staff made of an unknown metal, with a sharp double-sided blade attached to the end. Alignment:The Order of the Hawk @_@;; Confuzzling. --Sere

First of all, what picture system do you use? Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro? It depends on what you use as how you resize it . . . --Sere

Art SD's countless number of banners...
Sere Tuscumbia replied to Subversive's topic in Creative Works
It's interesting. Ish kinda weird but I find it appealing to the eye in any case. Proves that you don't have to have fancy effects and lots of pictures to make a banner great. ^_____^ Luvs it lots. --Sere -
What element are you based on personality?
Sere Tuscumbia replied to klinanime1's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, I can't just confine myself to just one. I'm really all of them all at once. Fire: Anyone who has met me knows that I have a very short fuse. I'm very passionate about several things, and about anything can set me off. However, I'm not a good leader. Air: Oh I'm ditzy. Oh so ditzy. ^^;; I can pull off the clueless, no-brained look quite well. ^-^ Don't really push ahead for myself, but rather, I enjoy floating through life instead. Earth: Although I can act ditzy, I'm really not. I more like to observe than join in on conversations, and don't talk that much. Water: I'm not so much this element, but I still posess the qualities. I'm tough, but not so much moldable, and if someone needs me, then I'm going to be there for them. Ether: This really can go with the Earth element. I don't really have conversations with people unless they directly include me in the conversation, and even then, I still don't talk much. Yeppers, I'm weird. --Sere -
I have to say, that this banner isn't the most beautiful thing in the world, but for a first try (I assume) it's got something going for it. You picked a good background, but the rest of the banner is plain. Word-art and a small picture really doesn't cut it. Also, it is frankly quite blurry. Try adding more special effects, maybe a bigger picture and smaller text. Try something different than just the Playstation logo too. I'm not one to give ratings, and I suggest if you need any examples, just look at other banners people have done. There are several good ones out there, and the archives are always there (meaning past the 2nd page and such) --Sere

Hmmph. I used to be hooked to TV, but now I rarely watch TV. Pretty much the only thing I watch is CSI with the family, and that's all. Not much good stuff on TV to watch anymore . . . O_o;; All of it's reality shows and other mindless junk like that . . . *shrug* Ah well. Not really like I mind or anything. I've got other things to do that take up the time. ^_^ --Sere
-
It's beautiful as always. ^_~ You always seem to love to make the banners that stand out against the crowd. A lot of people try to do that, and never succeed. You're doing a very good job of succeeding. Congrats! ^_____^ Yesh, loves the banner. Pets the banner . . . @_@;; --Sere
-
O_o;; Lordie you're a ditz. Maybe you should be Mitsumi instead of Su! ^-^ (oh yesh. I ish a major Love Hina fan.) And Sara, you did a great job. Very, very adorable. Although Su's not my favourite character, that's still so cute that I'd snatch it up in a second! ^_____^ --Sere

It threw me off with how much it changed, over and over again, but the part that I really didn't get was the reason Charles was in jail . . . O_o;; Very good. I do like it. Honestly, I do! --Sere
