Not only had the time she was willing to wait on William to finally show up long overdue, so was the expected contact from Cassandra. It was only a couple of days, but she had never been late before. Valencia wasn?t ready to give up though. Even if they had somehow managed to hack into Cassandra?s core program, she would not become a willing puppet to serve the New Alliance. She was running her options through her mind when the intercom in the cell came on. -There you are!- Cassandra sounded irritated. ?Do you have any idea how long it took me to find you?- ?You?re late.? Valencia growled at her, rising up off the bed in the tiny cell. -Oh put a sock in it! You have no idea what I had to get around before I could break into where you?re being held. Not to mention what I had to do just to find you in the first place.- ?Why don?t you give it a rest and get me out of here already?? Valencia folded her arms. -It?s not that simple. The security to lower the distortion shields? Ah there we go.- Cassandra sounded rather smug as a transport door opened up in front of Valencia. Valencia didn?t waste a single moment as she hurried through the door that closed behind her. Stepping back onto the bridge of the Stykera was a welcome sight and Valencia breathed a sigh of relief as she took the command seat and swiftly began to assess their situation. ?What did you do with the technicians who were assigned to hack into your core?? Cassandra snorted, -I locked those idiots in the main computer room.- She mock sighed. ?And since I just know you?d object if I jettison them into space, I?m making them go through a transport door into the cell where you were being held.- A broad grin graced Valencia?s face as she finished getting a look at their current location. The ship was still docked at the orbiting space station though Cassandra had already closed the door and engaged the locks. Once they broke free it would be obvious what was going on. She was not surprised that Cassandra had waited for them to be on the far side of the planet before springing her release. The extra time gained by the cover of the planet would make getting free of the gravitational pull of the planet for jumping to hyperspace easier. The choices for destinations were pathetic but she could always change that later. She input the closest option and waited for Cassandra to give the go ahead. -There. Stupid idiots didn?t want to do as I told them.- ?Of course not, they?re going to be in trouble once word gets out.? She replied as she brought the ship to full power and then took off for the calculated jump point as fast as possible. Within moments lights flashed indicating there were incoming transmissions, she was certain they were demands for her to surrender. She did not bother to waste the time to respond, even when opening shots were fired and ships in the area began to respond to her actions as they moved to cut her escape path off. The ship rocked violently when a closing battleship scored a direct hit. ?Cassandra!? -I know! I?m working on it!- She replied even as the Stykera?s weapons fired in return. They weren?t enough to do more than bounce harmlessly off of the more powerful shields of the other ship. They didn?t have a chance against a true warship; they needed to get to the safety of hyperspace. Valencia hung on tightly as the ship was hit twice more before they were finally able to make the jump to hyperspace. Once it was clear they had managed to get free, only then did she breathe a sigh of relief and take a look at the damage assessment. A quick look at the readouts indicated that it wasn?t too bad. Most of the repairs she could do herself. ?So what took you so long?? -That damn stupid Elite Specialist Kiva left several programs in place to ensure that I really was cut off.- Cassandra growled. ?I had to hack my way through those before I could even attempt to get into the space station?s systems.- Valencia laughed, earning a disgusted snort from Cassandra. She stifled it quickly and got up. ?Let?s get started on the repairs, we can decide what our next move is after we?ve gained enough distance to change our flight path to head for sector five.? Katelyn whispered in a worried voice as she turned from her position of peeking around the door to look at the others. ?If we head out now, they?ll see us leaving.? ?What about that way?? Zahir pointed to another door back against the farthest wall between one of the rows of computers. ?Let?s hope it?s not locked.? Viktor was already heading towards it, moving as quickly and quietly as possible. Not wanting to give up just yet the others followed along. Natalia was the first to make it there as Viktor opened the door with a grin. He held it open for the others and then swiftly followed, pulling it shut behind them. He was careful to keep it from shutting too hard and making unnecessary noise. Natalia already had her torch lit and was sweeping the room with it. They appeared to be in some type of break room with several sets of tables and chairs in the middle and a row of what looked like refrigeration units for holding food for the workers along the far wall. ?I guess some of them prefer to pack a lunch instead of walking over to the dining area we saw earlier.? Natalia remarked at the sight of half eaten lunches still sitting on some of the tables. ?What could have happened that would have resulted in them leaving so suddenly?? Katelyn didn?t like it. The longer they were there, the more wrong it felt. It also felt wrong to be hiding from the crew of the Von Braun and yet a part of her wanted to know where the people from the station were. Katelyn hadn?t realized she was shivering a little until Viktor grasped her shoulder reassuringly. ?Don?t worry, if anything was really wrong, the crew of the Von Braun would have never let us come over to the station.? Viktor said. Katelyn nodded and then froze at the sounds of what had to be the others in the computer room they had just left, if they looked into this room too? There was no telling what kind of trouble they would be in. She really wanted to know what happened but at the same time she didn't want to get into trouble either. ?There are more doors over here.? Zahir was checking out one of three with the help of Natalia who was using her torch to see what was in them. The first two were restrooms but the third appeared to be another small storage area with more of the metal boxes that they had seen in the other large room stacked along the walls. It wasn't completely full, the center area and further back along the far wall was clear of any boxes. Natalia was already walking in and shining her torch back where they couldn't see because of the boxes. She shook her head indicating that there was nothing there. ?We can wait in here for a little bit until Ms. Wells and the Major are done.? Natalia suggested. The others looked at each other and then at the sound of more noise from the other room they quickly moved into the storage room to join her, closing the door behind them.

It just depends. Sometimes it's cereal, sometimes it's leftovers from dinner the other night. I really like little egg and sausage sandwiches the best though. I like making that and having it with some juice. My tastes are always changing though, so who knows what I'll be eating next month.

You just had to go there, huh, Aaryanna? Darn.
Of course. I may have good memories of OB, but I have some that aren't so hot too. However, I like to think that sort of helped break down the barrier or rather helped to put an end to some of that kind of unfriendly thinking towards new members. :catgirl: I'm not going to pretend that I have some grand view of the past though because when I look back, that stands out. Plus I still don't buy the idea that seniority gives rank in any manner at all. How do people gain it? In my opinion it's more about having a good time and making friends and forgetting about recognition that you don't really need in the first place. If people really want things to become more like the good times in the past, you have the power to get involved and make it happen. Anyway I still enjoy OB and I have great memories too, otherwise I wouldn't bother to stick around.

It's true. OB is much more friendly towards 'newbies' than it was when Nerdsy or I joined. Time to spam the thread with moar Nightwish! *shot* >_> I can't help it though, I finally got my own copy of their Dark Passion Play and Once album. It's even more addicting when the quality of the recording is good. I'm debating on what album by them to get next! Cause seriously, I have come to really adore their music. :catgirl:

- I've never been one to talk about customization in these types of games, but I can see the sheer amount that can be done here. And the alchemy pot adds more depth as well. It's too bad I don't know what to do with it at this point of the game lol. I did make a boomerang though lol. I'm thinking about buying the strategy guide, but I've read reviews about it, and majority of them stated that it's not detailed enough. Is it enough to get me from point A to point B?
I don't remember where, but you can get a short online guide for the alchemy pot. It's well worth the time to do so since making stuff is really handy in the long run. I don't know about getting an actual game guide though, I kept meaning to check that out and never did. Plus, your post reminds me that for whatever reason I never finished the game! o_O I really need to, it was such fun to play and it would be kind of silly to not see how it ended after I had so much fun with it.

I know I've mentioned it before but after that generic stuff by the Jonas Brothers & Camp Rock I had to listen to some real music. So I pulled out my copy of Dark Passion Play by Nightwish. I'm checking out the instrumental version since I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. I can see why Rach likes it, even without the singing, it's gorgeous to listen to. :catgirl:

I just saw a preview to this the other day. I loved the older one made back on 1959, here's the trailer to it too. Heh. It's cheesy as all get out but I still get a kick out of watching that movie. So naturally I'm looking forward to seeing the re-make when it hits the theaters on July 11th. Who else is excited to see it?

I must be the only girl who until now had no clue who this group was. So I went over to youtube and checked them out. Other than to think they lack originality, the actual singing is fine. The only problem I encountered was nothing jumped out or was memorable. It all sounded like some generic music for a kiddie show. Nothing worth wasting the time to hate, but nothing to really like either. *shrug*

Cultural Cuisine Preferences?
Aaryanna replied to The Spectacular Professor's topic in General Discussion
My mom is from Texas, so that of course means lots of what would be considered southern cooking. She has some utterly fantastic recipes that are so tasty. Barbecue, black eye peas with bacon bits. Pecan pie and a whole lot more that she makes that is just downright yummy. I do like Mexican and Chinese from time to time but in the end the homemade stuff that my mom makes is the best. :catgirl: -
Well there is the obvious slant of having laws that everyone has to obey, but Ethics to me, in a simple manner is treating others how I would prefer to be treated. Basic stuff like not lying, cheating, stealing, etc. I know it's more complicated than that, but that's the core of how I see it.

Being what's known as an unexpected child, by the time I grew up enough to even consider playing an instrument, my older brother and sister were gone. My mom tried to get me interested in Piano and Organ since she has played both all her life and gives lessons as well. But other than to learn enough that I can read music it just never interested me, so no one other than my mom has been subjected to my earliest attempts to learn to play. >_> I do get tormented by some of her students when they come over for lessons. Having a piano that is kept in tune doesn't stop them from making mistakes and hitting the wrong keys. I usually escape outside to read for some of them. In the winter... I'll go over to a friends house if I can. Otherwise, I just tolerate it.

If there is an afterlife, your spirit goes there instead of hanging around on Earth, that is what I was taught. So even then I still did not believe in ghosts or rather in spirits haunting the Earth so to speak.
