Okay, if it's not obvious, when Ash was dying my Goddess took her power and transfered it to Jeanne. I looked through the rules and I didn't see anything that said you couldn't do that in the same post as a death card. Though if I missed it let me know. Otherwise, I was thinking that doing that was okay. XP EDIT: And before I forget...
You can use your own logical skills in determing what kind of sex gives you Death Points and what kind of sex will earn you Life Points. Simple as that. ;P
Did you forget that I'm 15? I am not well versed in what would be considered 'good sex' vs 'bad sex' other than the more obvious rape vs consensual. Like my mom, I think I am going to end up losing the game since I will not be gaining points in this manner. :animesigh

Treisleilai was still annoyed with Paraxis, even if Jachym had been quick enough to realize she had done nothing, it still did not change the fact that Paraxis was up to no good. She could tell by how quickly he had seized on the opportunity to toy with the newest soul instead of simply tying Charlotte's fate to that of the child. You don't fool me, she thought to herself. I know you're up to no good Paraxis. She would not be as vocal about it as Celesta had been nor would she bother to warn the souls, but she could and would do something when the time was right. Now all she had to do was wait for the right moment. "Oh that poor woman." Charlotte said as she gently draped a sheet over Ira's body. "If I had known that the overlook was unstable I would have never let her go outside." "There's no way you could have known Charlotte." Ian said sadly. "I stood on it myself and it seemed fine to me. If anything It's my fault for failing to catch her." Charlotte reached over and placed her hand on Ian's right shoulder. "That's enough of that, there's no point in blaming ourselves over something we could not have foreseen. We should get back inside don't you think?" Ian looked up to see that the sun was starting to set and that the air was starting to get a bit of a chill to it. "Of course, you're right." He turned to head in and then halted when he realized that a young man was approaching their location. "Please," Ash begged both of them when he got closer to Charlotte and Ian. "I've been cursed by this place, I need to lock myself up so I can't harm anyone else." He came to a stop and looked at each of them. "Have you seen a place where I can isolate myself?" "I have not." Ian replied, standing cautiously between Charlotte and the young man, having learned that what he said was true, two forms of a dark power were attached to the man standing before them. "Ian, what about the room Ira said was for surgeries? If this young man is indeed inflicted by some form of madness such a place would be easy to secure." She smiled at him when Ian turned to look at her. "Surely we can do at least that much." "It's too dangerous Charlotte." Ian started to protest. "Ian, I can see the torment in his eyes, I could not live with myself if I did nothing." She looked up to face Ash. "I can't promise that it will be what you need, but we can show you a room that might serve you purpose." "Thank you. That's all I ask. I'm Ash by the way." "This is Ian and I am Charlotte. The entrance to this place is just this way." Charlotte indicated the path leading away from them and around the building. It didn't take them long to get there and as they entered the doors Charlotte was still asking Ash questions as to where he was from, what had happened since he arrived, but Ash became quiet after a short time. At the moment they walked in, they halted at the sight of two people, two people that caused Ash to back up, clutching at Charlotte's arm. "Charlotte!" A shrill voice rang out. Startled Charlotte looked at the woman who had called her name and then backed up a step in fear when the woman pointed the gun she had straight at her. No! How is this possible? It was just like before, when she had died. "What are you doing Marta! Are you out of your mind? Stop her!" Ash cried out. But Marta just lowered her head sadly and looked away. "You don't understand." Jeanne said as she started walking towards where the three were standing still. "I have to kill the baby!" Instinctively Charlotte's hands went to her stomach as she thought of her baby. "But, my baby is innocent." She backed up a few steps, looking around for a way out. "Please, if you must kill me, at least wait and give my child a chance to live." "No." Jeanne pulled the trigger, firing directly at Charlotte's stomach. Without even giving it a thought Ash moved to protect Charlotte and then he staggered backwards when the shot hit him squarely in the stomach, right where it would have hit Charlotte. He felt Ian's hands catch him as he started to fall. "No." Ash whispered as pain along with a feeling of coldness started to spread through his body. "Get out of here, there's a building to the west, take Charlotte and run before it's too late." Ash summoned the last of his strength and pushed away from Ian and rushed Jeanne who fired at him again when she realized what he was doing. He staggered again as this time the shot caught him in the chest, but it was too late, he was close enough that he caught her arm and dragged her to the ground when he fell. And then he held on to her dress as long as he could. I hope they got away, he thought as he finally fell into darkness. Jeanne was trying to struggle free, but Ash's grip even in death was unrelenting. Finally with a snarl as something inside her snapped she ripped her dress to free herself. It was too late though, Charlotte and the one with her had already fled the building. As she stood up the feeling of needing to kill the baby became even more powerful and even more strong. "Lets go Marta, I won't let those fools get away. I'll kill both of them if I have to!" She started to head for the door and stopped when she realized that Marta was not with her. "What are you doing?" She said when she saw Marta remove her outer jacket and place it gently over Ash's face. "It's his fault for getting in the way." Marta stood up and then walked over and slapped Jeanne. "I may have agreed to help you kill the baby but I did not agree to help you kill others." Jeanne grabbed her shirt, "Fine! So long as you don't get in my way I don't give a damn, now lets go!" She pulled her along as she headed for the doors that Charlotte and Ian had fled through. Marta pulled free and followed along on her own. If being free of the curse means more people are going to die... Perhaps it would have been better if I had stayed cursed. She thought as they approached the doors. I'm sorry Ash, I should have stopped her. And as they walked outside into the night she wondered if she could continue allowing others to die while she did nothing. I usually end up sleeping when I'm sick since most medicine makes me really tired. But it also makes me very loopy as well. I'll do things and not remember it later sometimes, well other than vaguely that is. Like the last time I was sick just a little while ago, apparently I got up in the middle of the night and talked with BKstyles on MSN, but the thing is... I don't remember most of what I said. >_< I just remember getting up, taking some more medicine and talking to him while I was waiting for the stuff to work again. That was weird. Along with some insane dreams I had too. I always have vivid wacky dreams when I'm sick. Fortunately I don't get sick very often, which is good since I hate taking medicine. XP

I searched the thread and I didn't find a link to the ban specifics. If you could provide one (I might have missed it), I'd gladly read it.
I just searched using google for protest at funeral. I read through several articles which stated that different states were considering the ban/limit on protests at funerals and all of them were along the lines of keeping a distance of 300-500 feet. Some states want to include a time limit as well. This is one of the articles I read: Bans
I'm assuming that this law is not federal then, and it can't really be applied to this case. I support this kind of legislation, to an extent, but unfortunately it can't be used against the Westboro Baptist Church.
As far as I know the law in Utah is not federal, however, when the group announced plans to do one of their demonstrations at a funeral here, they were informed that they would be required to abide by it. Their response was to not come at all.

I'm looking forward to seeing Crystal finally drag Vallon's butt to the infirmary, I'm thinking that will be a fun post. :p
You and me both, and seriously, I'm tempted as hell to simply post to that effect. I'm in a bad mood at the moment and using Crystal to pick on Vallon seems like the perfect solution! Though I'll just log off and go do something else instead. Otherwise Matt and Beth would probably smack me and I've caused enough of a stir today. :animesigh

Most everyone in this thread favors disregarding the first amendment because in this particular case, the actions are universally disgusting and stupid. It doesn't matter what you feel, it's the constitutionality of it. The Westboro church has a strong case, no matter how idiotic they are. You can't choose to bend the Constitution to fit what you feel.
Actually, in that context, we have every right to say we think this shouldn't be allowed, constitutionally we have the right to say we think the first amendment shouldn't allow this kind of harassment. Saying that how we feel about it doesn't matter isn't correct. And who's to say it's bending the constitution? We haven't denied them the right to have their opinion. We're vocally saying that we believe they are violating the privacy of other individuals by protesting at a funeral of all things. That's not us disregarding the first amendment, that's us saying those pig headed fools are hiding behind it to incite a riot and gather attention to their views in a more dramatic fashion. If there wasn't some truth to this then that case of being sued would have died instead of actually being won. The constitution isn't absolute and just as that group has the right to protest so do we to say that their protest at a funeral doesn't fall under free speech rights. No one is saying they can't protest, we're saying that in a non-public setting, which is what a funeral is, they should be required to keep their distance, even if that distance is just outside the funeral grounds. Even protesting the government is the same, since when were they allowed to go inside the white house? They protest outside and are required to keep a reasonable distance. Honestly how hard is this concept for people to grasp here? Go and read the ban, it's not against protesting it's against doing so on the actual property or within 300 feet of said property. The idiots can protest all they want, they just have to keep their distance like you have to do at any protest regardless of the reason. :animesigh We have the same law here in Utah, they can protest they just can't get in your face on the funeral grounds to do so. If the president is protected from someone walking right into his office, then why the hell should the rest of the public be denied the same treatment?

Just a few notes here: :animesigh One: I'm ignoring the pm's I got. You want an answer? Too bad. Two: I didn't know the Kill Bill was a joke and I saw no reason to read up on it to determine what it meant, since death card series are up to the players to interpret how they want to do things so I choose to give Jeanne a proper introduction so people would get a feel for what her character was like. Three: Whee! Drama in the underground thread! Four: Crystia is now officially a thousand times cooler than anyone else include authors of certain pm's therefore she is the only one to get homemade chocolate chip cookies the next time I make a batch. Five: Whee! Did we say drama in the underground thread? End of notes.

Sandy... I'll think about it.
I fully support the group's right to protest. I don't neccessarily agree with their tactics, but most cemeteries are private property. If the owner of the land doesn't want protesters on his property that should be the end of the discussion right there. If this church group wants to protest outside of the cemetary they should have the right to. You can't just pick and choose when and where you want people to protest. -Shy
Uh Shy, you just made no sense there. If you can't pick where people can't protest, that's also saying the owner of the land can't decide either. XP Silly, you're sort of contradicting yourself here. Also, many cemeteries are not private, they are public property, we have many here that belong to the city and others that are private as well. So that argument is flawed, or rather if what you say is accurate then in the case of say the one's owned by the city, they have every right to limit protests and that includes the distance aspect since that applies to other forms of protests. No one said they couldn't. :p The whole point of putting restrictions in place doesn't stop them from protesting, it stops them from being able to disrupt the funeral in process. I realize what your saying but your falling on the sheer technical aspect of the law instead of taking into account the spirit in which something like this would mean. And frankly what that church is doing would also fall under Disturbing the peace, which by the way is a crime. Those signs and things they have said are in my opinion likely to incite violence. Also, I'll say it again, a funeral is not a public forum, and what that church is doing is assine, hateful and nothing more than a sick tactic to draw attention to themselves. They can get that message out without intruding on what is strictly a private moment for families. So no Shy, I will disagree with you 100% on this. Laws limit society for a reason, and in my opinion, this is a limitation that is needed.

Well I haven't seen the Kill Bill movies, so I sort of winged that. XP Also, sorry for the delay in posting. I was going to yesterday, but I was so tired I ended up taking a nap instead. Anyway! Guess Jeanne is going to miss that costume party she was heading for! Though my reasoning, based on the year for her is that she was killed in a car accident on the way to said party. Anyway... *pokes the others* Start posting! If you don't Beth and Rach... I'll get revenge on the two of you. :p

Treisleilai was once again bored, everyone was being strangely quiet and making no moves whatsoever. At this rate she would be stuck there in that room with the others for eternity. If only they would stop dawdling and soon. "Baby? What do you mean by baby?" Marta asked even as she continued to shake Ash gently in an effort to wake the young man up. "Wait, where am I?" Jeanne asked. "This isn't the party? How did I get here?" She paused for a moment to put the pistol away and then to sigh. "All that work on my entrance for nothing." "Entrance?" Marta was confused. "Of course, it is Halloween after all. I've always loved Kill Bill so naturally I had to dress up that way." She looked down at the wedding dress. "I certainly wouldn't stain something as lovely as this dress for something else." Jeanne laughed a bit. "Anyway, I'm Jeanne and you are?" "Marta, and this is Ash." Marta stopped shaking Ash when it became apparent that he was finally waking up. "Well then, could you tell me where I am? At this rate I'm going to miss the costume party altogether." "I'm sorry, but we don't know where we are." Marta said apologetically and then to Ash when he gave her a puzzled look as he got up. "This is Jeanne, it seems that she was brought here as well." Marta did not explain what she had seen earlier or how she had finally been freed of the curse that had been put on her. "Marta! You're back to normal!" Ash exclaimed as they both got up. "But that means..." He backed away a bit, whatever had seemed to help the bitter feeling he had stay subdued was gone. What happened? Then it hit him as he remembered what had happened with Jamie. I can't stay here, if I do... I'll end up killing Marta next. This time he didn't give Marta a chance to respond, Ash calmly walked over as if to say hello to Jeanne and then dashed around her to take off out the front door. "Ash! No!" Marta ran after him without thinking, forgetting that she was suppose to help the new soul as death had told her she must. But for whatever reason Jeanne started following her. "Hey! Wait a second! I still don't know where I am!" She started running after the pair, nearly halting when she realized what she was seeing out side. What in the world? Jeanne pushed the thought aside and continued to follow them, finally catching up with Marta who had stopped to catch her breath. "Please, what's going on here? What is this place?" Jeanne started to ask more but Marta raised her hand to motion for her to hush. "I'm sorry Jeanne, but I really don't understand what this place is either. I thought that we were in Hell, but now I'm not sure." She gave her an odd look, finally remembering that she was required to help this woman in exchange for the curse being removed. "What were you doing or rather did you require assistance?" Marta finally asked her. Wishing she were younger, but Ash had easily left her behind. "Me?" Jeanne asked in surprise. "Like I said I was heading for a costume party, if you could help me figure out how to get there that would be more than enough." She sighed, "I mean I would like to actually make it there before it's over, otherwise, I altered this dress for nothing." "Is that your own wedding dress?" "Oh heavens no! I would never destroy my own dress. This is one I made for the occasion. I did base it on my own dress though." She smiled brightly. "It seemed appropriate for my costume after all." "Well Jeanne, I'll help you find the party, I need to find the way back myself and I'd like to look for Ash while I'm at it, if you don't mind that is." "Of course not." Jeanne pulled up the veil so it was behind her instead of in front of her face. "All right, lets get going then, the sooner we find your friend and the way out of this place the better. After all Adrien is probably wondering where I am by now." "Adrien?" "My husband of course, he didn't have time to come home from work before the party, so he was just going to meet me there."

Yesterday was an odd day for me. I started as usually by getting up and first getting cleaned up for the day and then doing the chores that are my responsibility. But when I went to do my usual reading, gaming and other things I do on the weekend to just have fun, I found myself too tired to care and ended up taking a nap instead. XP Then because I slept for a while I ended up staying up until nearly 1am watching Lovely Complex and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I never bother with the weekend anime's on TV since I don't usually stay up that late. Now today, I'm goofing off here after having watched a little bit of anime. I'll probably do some more reading later on since I didn't get that much in yesterday. I don't have any homework and if I catch her, I intend to go over and visit Beth later today. XP I just about always do that on the weekends.

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
Aaryanna replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Well as far as reading goes I'm about to start two new books I got by Mercedes Lackey, Phoenix and Ashes and The Wizard of London, two more in her elemental masters series. ^_^ I really enjoyed the first two so I'm looking forward to reading more. She's also one of my favorite authors so I love her stuff. Now as for the anime, I'm currently watching Lovely Complex, I started it and never finished so I'm doing that now since it's turning out to be wonderfully funny. I'm also watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, that show has me going back and forth between laughing and cringing, it's so bizarre! Hehe. Anyway, that's about all for me, to many other things to do so I don't have enough time to really watch more than a few series at a time. -
Well I finally got back to watching this. XP It's every bit as insane as I remember. I just finished episode five, at least I think it was five with all the stuff about one's status and the detox bit. Oh was that funny that they implied
that detoxing the teacher would result in nothing being left.
Also, it's downright scary how so many people there are every bit as nutty as the teacher, only in a different way. I go back and forth between laughing at this and cringing. XP So naturally I'll be watching more of it. :catgirl:
-
Well I finally got around to watching this and though I've only watched a few episodes I'm quickly becoming addicted to it. Risa is just too adorable really with all those wacky expressions that she makes which are too fun.
That and her snarky comments to her self about being a giraffe in the previous life make me laugh. But what made me laugh the most was in the very beginning when she had
fallen asleep at the assembly. When she woke up and ranted about losing her summon monsters, etc.
I just laughed and laughed over that. Hehe.
So far that bit at the assembly is my favorite, that really made me laugh a lot. :catgirl: Anyway, I've been resisting watching this since romantic comedies are so not my thing, but unless it changes, I'm thinking that this will be the exception.

Well I wouldn't say that I absolutely hate it but I finally saw the opening music to Sailor Moon in English and the experience was a wtf reaction. I saw the uncut episodes first so that beginning was just awful in my opinion. All that "She is the one named Sailor Moon" bit just grated on my nerves.

Jehovah's Witness and Blood Transfusions
Aaryanna replied to The13thMan's topic in General Discussion
Well it makes no sense to me, but then as far as I know, the religion my mom is a part of encourages seeking medical treatment when needed, including blood transfusions. My mom's health has required it or else she would have died several times in the past. XP So to refuse that kind of treatment makes no sense to me. Even though I hate going to the doctor, I never refuse treatment, though I've never needed a blood transfusion. Also, why bother to do the research to find the cure or treatment for different diseases if you aren't even going to bother to use it? Though I'm sure they aren't the ones who figured out how to do blood transfusions. XP -
I love Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas music. ^_^ My mom has every single one of their albums for Christmas except for the newest one which we plan on picking up next week. I don't like every song, but pretty close and some of the ones that sound like they were played centuries ago are so pretty. A couple of my favorites for that are We Three Kings, Coventry Carol, Wassail Wassail, I saw three ships, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and lots more. :catgirl: You do realize Rach that I'll be pestering you and Beth to go to the concert since it is on a Friday. I just need to figure out where I'm going to get $33 for the ticket. XP

The states are wrong for banning the protests, bottom line. That's not the states' place, and anytime the government tells anyone that protesting is wrong, it should make us all uncomfortable.
I can't agree. If someone were to come to my yard and picket with signs for whatever reason I would have the right to request that they leave and the law would back that up. Besides, they aren't stopping them from protesting, they are requiring them to be so far away from the actual funeral proceedings. Or there is a time limit as to when they are allowed to protest. Also, before we go down the path of it's unconstitutional, keep in mind that a funeral is not a public forum and was never intended to be one. Laws limiting demonstrations are not new in the United States. Since Sept. 11, 2001, some states have passed laws limiting protests near airports. Protests are also generally limited within a certain number of feet from the Presidential motorcade, and are prohibited within federal buildings. Public protests are barred from private events and places by general trespass regulations. So it's not like we're suddenly restricting someone's rights here. You have to draw the line somewhere when it comes to how much someone can get in your face to express their views. Freedom of speech does not give you absolute liberty to do whatever you want. Those people are spiteful and hateful idiots who are using people's grief over losing a loved one to push their sick agenda into the spotlight. And for them to lose the lawsuit, even though they'll attempt to martyr themselves as a result, is something that was as my mom put it, long overdue.

Right now I'm listening to Nightwish Bye Bye Beautiful The instrumental version since I shamelessly got Beth to loan me her disk so I could listen to it. :catgirl: The link has both, the regular with the singing and the instrumental, but I like the instrumental better. Also, having the disk and being able to directly compare it to a professional copy... There's just no contest. XP The disk sounds so much better! Anyway, I'm thinking of asking for this disk since so far I like every single track. Though my favorites so far are The Poet and the Pendulum, Bye Bye Beautiful and Amaranth.

Alright... Now first off this is a repeat of this thread here: [thread=45377]Moderation[/thread] It's been a while since that though and it was before I became a member of the site so that makes it fair game in my mind. ^_^ Plus I?ve been thinking about moderation related work ever since I applied for the Event Master deal going on here: [thread=58243]Event Master Auditions[/thread] Which by the way? if you?re interested, get over there and get your application in! ^_~ Anyway, on to the questions! [and yes I really did lift them from the previous thread :p] To Moderators and the rest of the staff: If you could drop your current post and have someone just as good as you take over, would you? To Former Staff Members: Would you return to your post? To everyone else: Would you want to become a staff member, and if so, which post would you want? Now for myself, I have no interest in dropping my current position, well other than the fact that I?m applying to become the next Event Master, so I guess you could say I?m looking to change my responsibilities. But right now, I love coming to this site and I have a lot of friends here so I?ve no interest in leaving that behind. However, at the same time, if I was asked to step down so someone else could have a go at it, I would not be bothered by it. It?s been fun and though I would miss some of the stuff connected to it? I?d still hang out here with my friends and stalk Des of course. ^_^

(even if I've got straight Ds >_>)
o_O Can't say I've managed that. Though I've never gotten a D in the first place. XP Anyway, my day was fine. I got up like usual, goofed off online a bit before heading to school. Classes were kind of boring today, especially English. That class always bores me. There was a lot of candy in class since people brought stuff they got for Halloween to school. You're not suppose to have food in class but the teachers kind of gave up when it became obvious that no one was listening to them. I came home, did my homework and now I'm just goofing off online since I'm done. :catgirl: So it's been a normal day for me. And if I follow my usual pattern, I'll end up pulling out my new Mercedes Lackey book later and reading it. I almost always end my day by reading something fun that I like.

I've gone to a few church-run "Halloween alternative" events over the years but, frankly, they were all pretty boring.
The church run events for us are boring as hell too. I've yet to be to one that wasn't boring. XP I've been trick or treating in the past, but I don't eat a lot of candy so I end up giving it away. It was fun dressing up though. Now I don't do that anymore. And this year I just stayed home since I didn't feel like doing anything. That and since it was on a school night and my friends who are older were watching R rated horror films... Well that just meant I couldn't tag along. I really wanted to though. hehe But I had fun goofing off online, watching Hocus Pocus and chatting with Ikillion and r2vq. I also pestered Des too. :catgirl:

What do I believe? That Halloween is a holiday and not much else. XP I'm not superstitious at all, even if scary movies creep me out to no end. >_> I just avoid watching them as much as possible. lol It's stupid really, I don't believe in ghosts, zombies or such things and yet those type of movies bug me. Anyway, I usually dress up, though this year I didn't, I just didn't feel like it. Especially since the church sponsored event was pretty pathetic this year. :animesigh And like my mom said, we got about zero kids coming around. I did watch some movies, but mostly I just goofed off online. I did have fun chatting with Ikillion and r2vq though. :catgirl:
