1.
Thank you, Aaryanna, it was a real close call and in my honest opinion you deserved to win this game just as much as Rachmaninoff. You were the real life of this game.
Thanks. :catgirl: I had a lot of fun. Congratulations Rachmaninoff! :catgirl: I enjoyed competing against you in the beginning, working with you upon your return as a teammate and then later going up against you in the final challenge. Just as I had fun with everyone else too. I'm kind of sorry to see it come to an end. Like Rach said Sandy, thanks for putting Survivor up and hosting it.
 2. Well since everyone seems to have vanished... I'd be willing to help out with the graphics. I also like the idea of doing most of the articles as little tidbits instead of always needing to be a much bigger deal. Also.... If BKstyles isn't going to do the one on the padded room party and what kind of threads are appropriate bit... I wanna! :p Or I bet DB would want to do it.
 3.
Also, don't let my weird habits keep you from watching great shows (aaryana) I will cry.
*poke* I won't... I will wait until that mental image I did not want fades though. XP Oh and another weird habit? Subtitles. Even if the English actors is good, I just have to go back and watch it with subtitles if possible to see what the differences are. So I end up watching nearly everything twice.
 4. *makes a note to never watch Strawberry Panic* In other words DB... Too much information! XP I so did not need to know that habit of yours. Anyway, my only weird habit is that I tend to go long periods between watching anime. I'll go a week or two and then spend a few days watching a lot to make up for it. I get so caught up in school, reading and other things that I just don't think about bothering to watch stuff. Then, I'll suddenly remember I still haven't seen the end of a show and I'll pull out either the DVD's, hope it's still in the OnDemand section of our cable service, or run to the fansub site I go to, in order to see the rest. I often end up re-watching the last episode I saw just to refresh my memory of what's going on.
 5. Well if you want to know more about this... I found this online, it's suppose to be a copy of the police report of this incident. It's an interesting read that's for sure. Report If that's true, he did it on purpose just to get attention. :animesigh
 6. Well I wouldn't say it's bad or wrong to be desensitized to horror, but I certainly have no interest in watching enough shows to end up that way. XP I hate stuff like that and if that makes me a wimp... I'm proud to be one. It's annoying because I know it's not real... But it still grosses me out. >_< It doesn't scar me for life though. lol
That would be Wolf Creek ^ ^, some crazy dude grabed a punch of backpackers in the middle of the desert if I recal. Spose your never coming to Australia then?
I saw part of that... I had to turn it off. >_< I don't know about Beth, but I still want to visit Australia some day. I mean, we have our sickos too unfortunately and one of the more famous ones lived in Utah for a while. I'm pretty sure they made a movie about Ted Bundy. He was sick.
 7.
If pointing that out makes me seem harsh or even mean, so be it.
*poke* Just admit it Crystia! You're mean! :p Anyway... The more I read about this guy... The less I feel sorry for him. I've reached the point where if anything they say about him being an attention getter is true... He so deserved what he got. This isn't the first time he's made a scene. What a moron.
 8.
Anyway, in response to all the talk about me - :p I love you guys! And sunfalle before you decide that I'm not operating the whole site behind the scenes - consider this. Not only do I post everywhere, but most of my friends are moderators, the new guys all love me, and I'm even on good terms with both Desbreko AND Dagger. I might as well just take the place over now XD
Well I doubt you'll take over, but it is true that on some level, behind the scenes you are in control... After all... It is, as DeathKnight put it, His main duty is to keep the basement free of rodents. So without you DB, we'd be overrun by Rats! :p Anyway, if taken in the full context of how the word is applied in Japan... Then I am not an Otaku at all. I go days where my only contact with anime is visiting this site and the forum I moderate. Heh. But if you go by what SunfallE is saying, then like her I'm a casual Otaku. ^_^ I love watching shows and reading manga, but it's just a hobby and nothing more.
Yes, this is a topic I've come across before; there are definitely girl otakus (or anime fans or whatever you'd like to call them) out there, but I seem to have noticed that they are very often absent from more public displays of anime fandom, such as school anime clubs, etc. Now, this is not always the case, as anyone at a convention (especially a Yaoi con) could see; but I am definitely interested to see how many girls will respond to this thread. Another thing that I want to throw out there, if anyone wants to comment on, is this idea that being an Otaku is, in some ways, resisting American popular culture. It sounds a bit far-fetched, but you'd be surprised how many articles I've come across by scholars who think being an anime fan is some way of rebelling against American mainstream culture.
Well SunfallE and I are both girls. But neither one of us are hard core Otaku's like 2007DigitalBoy. As for being a part of things public, there isn't an anime club in my area, or rather I have not heard of one. And it's sad, but I was unable to go to my first Anime Convention last month since I was sick. >_< That was really annoying! Hmmm... I'm sure for some teens they do see it as resisting American culture, but I've always seen it as something that is becoming part of our culture. But then again, I'm not heavily into it. Though seeing that where I live many adults think all anime is porn and garbage... I'm sure they see it as me resisting American culture since I do like anime.
 9.
People these days do sick and disgusting things I guess, they shouldn't but nobody is willing to stop them, nor are they going to even bother finding or resisting them all.
Are you honestly trying to say that they are Confederates? And that we need to be finding and resisting them? You're confusing. The Civil War was hundreds of years ago. XP Also, how could someone know in advance that someone is going to do something like that? It's not an issue of no one being willing... Often it's an issue of people being unaware. The only thing that needs to be found and resisted, is working on getting rid of prejudice if this case was racially motivated. Otherwise, what exactly are we resisting here or finding? It's not like you can go from home to home and say, excuse me but are you planning on kidnapping someone, and doing to them what happened to this woman? Anyway, the whole thing is just sick and depraved and really shows that there are people out there who are lower than scum. I say lock them up, toss the key and walk away. That sort of behavior is pathetic. I can think of other more appropriate punishments, but I'm sure you can imagine just what I'm alluding to here.
 10.
(And somehow Neuvoxraiha, I just don't believe that cops don't have to read you your rights. Which includes what you're being arrested for.) Escorting him off the premisis is one thing, but arresting is another thing entirely.
Wrong, police do not have to read you your rights when you are arrested or escorted off a premises. There's a key thing to keep in mind here: At what point are police required to inform a suspect of their Miranda rights? After a person has officially been taken into custody (detained by police), but before any interrogation takes place, police must inform them of their right to remain silent and to have an attorney present during questioning. A person is considered to be "in custody" anytime they are placed in an environment in which they do not believe they are free to leave. Can police arrest or detain a person without reading them their Miranda rights? Yes, but until the person has been informed of his or her Miranda rights, any statements made by them during interrogation may be ruled inadmissible in court. So if all they did was escort him off the premises and didn't charge him with anything, reading him his rights was not required. If they arrested him, they could have taken him to the station and read him his rights before asking any questions. They don't have to do it at the exact moment they are arresting him. Now if you're wondering where I got that information from... I asked the woman who lives across the street from me and my mom since she's a cop. I also saw it online, but I checked with her to see if it was accurate since I was curious. XP In the end, I want to feel sorry for the guy, but he choose to make a scene, he knew what he was doing and choose to not let it go. Perhaps using a taser was a bit much, but other than that, he had it coming. Being escorted out that is.
 11. *poke* Because I want to find out what's going on! lol That and I want to post again but I was waiting to see what some of the other objectives were. Hehe. That and I'd be sad if this died. :p Oh and to be clear... that poke is meant solely for you BKstyles! I already poked Beth in person when I was over at her house earlier. :D
 12.
"What was your most strategic move that most likely got you to the final two? And if you feel that strategy wasn't a major factor in your gameplay, what is the one move that you regret the most and why?"
My strategy was to have fun, seriously. As well as do the best I could since I'm always trying to prove that being younger doesn't mean you aren't smart. XP For that reason I did a lot of research on the Abortion debate since I really wanted to win and the best way to do so, in my opinion, was to arm myself with as much knowledge as possible. As for regretting a move, I didn't expect Sandy to focus on the fact that the initial Mercenary avatar and banner had names. I thought it would be unique and that went against us. I didn't think of it at the time, but I could have done a banner with Captain and then Agent 001, Agent 002, Agent 003 and so on. That would have worked pretty well and left the need to modify or update the banners unnecessary.
I am sorry Sandy, you would think it would be a much easier choice considering things, but honestly, it's not. I've been giving it a lot of thought as to who I should vote for. So I'll add another question to the finalists to help me make up my mind. Name one or two challenges that given a chance you would have changed the rules to, if changed then what would you have done differently, or removed from the game altogether and why.
:p I have a hint for you Mom
Its white, furry and absolutely adorable! Kidding!
Anyway, all joking aside, the one thing I would have removed was the hunt for those SS's. It was a fun idea but the time constraint annoyed the hell out of me since I had school and literally couldn't do anything. Fortunately the rest of the challenges were not time based. Now if I were to change the rules of one, it would have been the debates, I would have had both teams debating at the same time to keep people more involved. It was a fun challenge, but it left too many people sitting doing nothing. Other than that, there isn't much I would have removed or changed. XP Well perhaps the tiny poetry deal between Beth and BKstyles. That just seemed so anti-climatic compared to the other challenges. It would have been fun to see them do a full out poetry deal like Rach did for the final victory piece.
 13. We have Internet through our cable company, Comcast. It's suppose to be as fast as 8 megabytes but I've never seen it go faster than about 1.5 megabytes for downloads. Not that I'm complaining though. That still works beautifully. The only problem we seem to have is every year when school starts back up, for the first couple of weeks we'll have times that it doesn't work at all since they are always too cheap to upgrade to handle the capacity before school gets going. And of course there are other times it doesn't work, but most of the time it does.
 14. What do I think of smoking? Seems like a waste of time and money to me. Especially when you consider how bad it is for you. Do I care if others do? Not really, I only care if they want to do so where I live or near me. Because like others said, it stinks.
 15.
Alright, out of everyone who was a part of this... Who do you think was the most creative/dedicated with their input for the challenges?
So many to choose from! Like Rach said, there were a lot of people who were creative and stood out. ^_^ Probably the one I remember the most is Ezekiel. I really liked the diorama she made. Not only did she come up with the concept of mutant Sunflowers, but then to turn around and draw and color the entire thing by hand? I wish I was that creative. ^_^
If you could share your victory with anyone, other than the other finalist, who would it be and why?[/FONT']
Only one huh? The problem is I'd want to share it with Anomaly and Darren for being a part of the Hopeless horror story we did. ^_^ I think that more than anything got me going on doing my best in every challenge I was given. So I'd difinately want to share it with them. [I know that's two... sorry. >_
 16.
It's great that you realize it is ultimately a matter of choice, but what do you think they SHOULD do? Of course it is an individual decision and no one else's concern, but frankly that copout is getting way too played out on these forums and kills the topic entirely. Don't be afraid to rock the boat and express your opinion, even if it means turning heads or not getting any head at all.
But that IS what I think they should do, make that decision for themselves. It's not a copout it's what I believe. If we are going to deviate into it further about the only thing I disagree with is people looking down on others or expecting them to follow the same morals as they do. Or rather religious practices. In the end I can't say with certainty since I am a virgin. However, even though I insisted on breaking away from religion, I was raised to believe that the physical aspect between you and your husband was special and important. So in conclusion that would have to mean that sex is important and part of a loving relationship.
 17.
I do not know of any other situations where "can't" is forced down a person's throat, so to speak. As far as I have found, the "rules" just say "don't". (Arg. Too many quotation marks.) The individual still has to choose to follow them or not. As for the religions that would control the individual, as you said, that is generally the mark overly pious, pride-filled individuals who feel it their business to tell you both how depraved you are and how holy they are at the same time, as much as possible. No human can or does answer morally to any other human; humans did not make the Law, so how do we presume to enforce it?
Of course not, because to be blunt you seem to have a firm grasp on what you decide to do, you're making the assumption that seeing things so clearly is the same for everyone. Put yourself in someone else's shoes and think about this. I'll give you an example, a young girl, raised in [insert religion here] is taught from day one, you don't have sex unless you are married. All the usual implications of being considered impure, cast out of the religion for sinning, being shunned and ignored by previous friends. In one's mind that can and does translate to a mental 'can't' due to the excessive brainwashing over the years. Though those who attempt to enforce it would consider it in the light of 'saving' your soul. It is not just overly pious, pride-filled individuals who would do this, some of them genuinely believe they are helping you. If you really think no human answer's morally to another one, then you must not pay attention to laws and rules as well as how much religion has influenced the course of history. We do nothing but force our morality on others to a certain extent. Thou shalt not kill, remember.
So when you say "it should be a choice", what I hear is "it should be just a choice". There's nothing overtly wrong about it; in fact, when pressed most Christians would say they don't know why it's wrong, but that it's just wrong. So if there's no reason for it to be wrong, what's the deal? Along the same lines, the university I attend requires a student to take a total of twenty-two credit hours worth of Honors classes and two Honors colloquia in order to graduate in cursu honorum. Why those numbers? Why can't I graduate in cursu if I only want to take eight hours, and I don't happen to like any of the offered colloquia? I did, after all, graduate "in the course of Honors", did I not?
Did I hear you right? Saying that Christians wouldn't know why it's wrong? And here I would have thought that answer is obvious. God says it is wrong. It's not a question, it's a belief that they follow. The reason exists even if I or others don't agree with it. How you can compare that to classes required is beyond me, it's so out of whack in that it's not the same subject at all so your comparison makes no sense whatsoever as to how it pertains to having sex before marriage. Rules for not having sex can be linked to good solid reasons, like STD's and such. So the rules do make sense.
This scenario is interesting, though, because the punishment for me breaking the Law doesn't happen until after I'm dead. Additionally, I've already been given a pass/Go by virtue of my faith?the whole "forgiveness" spiel that I'm certain you've heard numerous nauseating times. :p So then, if I'm not 'punished' immediately, and I'm forgiven anyway, what's holding me back.
To take you a bit out of context here, what's holding you back is a tendency to be literal and over analyze everything.
I find it is not sad at all; I have several healthy relationships, thanksabunch; and I can say that I don't care very easily. (To the knee-jerk response of "have you ever even had a girlfriend?" I say yes. It was an accident, though, and I rectified the situation as quickly and genteelly as possible; I wouldn't wish me on anyone. :p) You have no idea how bizarre my mind is. The only times it is not 'processing multiple strains of information' is when I am either playing music or ensconced in listening to it. In the former case sex is quite impossible, and in the latter my entire body shuts down, leaving only my ears, my auditory processor, and my threat proximity identifier active. As for the waiting bit, umm....I'm not waiting....at all. I'm just, well, Not. As in, Not is what I am, not what I am doing.
Well I do find it sad, even though I have no interest in boys, [at the moment] I do eventually want to find that someone special. My lack of interest comes more from not being interested in sleeping around just to do it. But I would imagine that if I did end up dating someone I really liked, I think that like Sandy said, it's hard to have more than just a caring relationship without moving on to a more intimate aspect. As for your mind... XP Trust me, considering your response to this thread... I can easily imagine how bizarre your mind is. *poke* Besides, it's not like you have to actively pursue it, just don't get so caught up in everything else that you ignore the possibility.
 18. Name: Crystal Matheson Age: 83 Gender: Female Race: Versilan Loyalty: Versilan Empire Description: Crystal Weapons: Crystal use to command the smaller battle ship the Tempest, but she is first and foremost a doctor and her training for command is very basic. She knows how to use the most simple of laser and disruptor weapons but nothing more. Special Skills: She is a doctor, specializing in genetics. Originally she served as the ships doctor on commander Sandra?s ship the Crimson. But after several humans she had modified were rescued by the resistance; she was promoted to commander and given the ship that Daniel use to command. Now she has been moved to become the chief doctor on the Creator. Personality: She is kind and considerate, and dedicated in the sense that being a doctor comes before worrying about other things. Though sometimes the orders she receives pains her, she always follows through. She's also very blunt and forward and Crystal has no patience for officers or crew who avoid regular checkups or needed medical treatment. Short Bio: During the invasion of Earth she commanded the battle ship Tempest and was in charge of setting up all medical facilities on the newly conquered world. Crystal was also working with the High Council on various research projects in sector fourteen. While on Earth she was kidnapped and held by the Resistance who confiscated her research notes on her hand held computer. Crystal was located and rescued by Elite Specialist Kiva and then later once the three Resistance bases on Earth were destroyed she was recalled to sector one to do genetics research. Proof that all Versilans other than the High Council had been modified since birth as well as proof that four of the factions had mixed blood was done by Crystal in the genetics lab at the Council Center on the main home world in sector one. Now, with Civil War having broken out. Crystal has been transferred to the Creator to not only oversee Erica Kendrick?s treatments since Erica is dying from a terminal illness, but so a seasoned officer can command the Tempest in battle. It is a move she is quite happy with since commanding a battle ship is something she did not want to do in the first place. She still retains her rank as a commander and also has the authority from the High Council to overrule top decisions if medically she sees a need to countermand an order.
 19.
Still slightly on topic, what is the age of consent in your state/country/province? I know for most of the US it's sixteen (Including in New York state) some parts in the south it's fifteen and in good old Hawaii it's Fourteen!
For Utah it's sixteen. Though I've been getting 'offers' since I was thirteen. Why guys think you would say yes is beyond me. XP Honestly, if I don't like guys enough to want to date them, what makes them think I'd want to have sex? I'm sure I'll reach the point where I find the other sex interesting, but I still think boys are brats. In that respect I suppose I can understand why someone doesn't need it. I just haven't run into anyone who I felt attracted to, so the idea of having sex just to do so... seems pointless. It's not religion or being traditional in any sense or that the law says I'm too young. It's the truth that I've yet to feel that way towards a guy. *shrug*
 20. Captain Schovick came to a halt at the same time the Colonel did, both of them looking over the large gathering area. It was clearly a center for the inhabitants of the space station to get together in their time off, with shops for buying goods and various restaurants, there was even what appeared to be the entrance to a large theater along the right side, nestled in among two shops. "James, you and Vanye along with Dr. Rhodes are to go along the right side, check out a few places and then meet up on the far side." He indicated the exit on the other side of the huge open center. "Yes sir," James replied, coming to attention before he turned and started off along the right side of the area. With Dr. Rhodes and Vayne right behind him. "Schovick, Dr. Travis you're with me." Once she had nodded in response he moved to go along the left side, briefly checking into the various shops as they went along. Within a few moments, the other team was lost from sight as the tables and various stuff in the center blocked their vision of the other side. It was a bit odd since nothing was locked up, everything was open and items still out on the shelves of the little stores. With one exception, a clothing store, it was as if it had been ransacked as most of the items were gone. "Captain," Dr. Travis asked as they checked out the back of the store to see if the stores had been ransacked as well. "Are you alright?" Teresa turned to see that he was watching her, his expression one of concern. She stopped going through the store and answered him. "I'm fine, why do you ask?" "Well, ever since we entered this clothing store... You've been shivering a little." Teresa just smiled a bit, "Well this place is a little creepy, plus it is on the cold side with the life support on standby." She wasn't going to tell them that on some level she felt like she was cold inside, like she was sick. Because other than that odd feeling, Teresa felt fine. It made no sense. But if Dr. Travis saw her shivering... Maybe I really am cold. Decided, she pulled out her own field jacket and set her rifle the Thunderbolt down briefly as she took the backpack off and slipped the jacket on before putting the backpack back on and picking up her rifle. It helped, but still, she still felt cold inside. Bah! She thought. I feel fine, it's just that this place is creepy. "Did that help?" Dr. Travis asked her. "Yeah, it did," She said brightly as they moved back to the front of the store where the Colonel was already waiting. Other than to raise an eyebrow at her for having put the field jacket on nothing was said. "We'll check out a few more shops before re-joining the others. Though I'm not expecting to find anything until we get to the command center." Colonel DeSouza left the shop with the two of them following closely behind. "You know," Dr. Travis whispered as they continued along the left side of the shopping center. "You're right, this place is creepy as hell." Teresa just shot him a smile before turning her attention back to keeping an eye out. Though she was not expecting to find anything, what with there being no life signs on the station. Still... She half expected some ghost or other undead thing to pop out. Even though she did not believe in such things. I'll be glad when we get this taken care of. Teresa thought, even as she shivered again, still feeling cold inside.
 21. I think it should be a personal choice, once you're old enough that is. I do think that abstinence is important, but I also don't think people should be limited to waiting until they get married. As for how I learned about it... I got most of my information from online and at the local library. Sex ed was a joke. Now as for embarrassing experiences? I'm fifteen, jail bait by Utah laws and have no interest in it at the moment. XP So no stories from me, unless you like the ones where I've smacked someone for attempting to touch me in a manner I did not want. :animesigh I don't even have a boyfriend because so far... All the boys I know are brats.
 22.
So be it: Rachmaninoff and Aaryanna will be facing the Final Team Council within a few days time. Meanwhile, I want both of you to recount something about your experience with this game to this thread, maybe remember the early stages and people who've been voted off during these nine months.
Yay! I got chosen! :catgirl: Anyway... as for recounting something, the one thing that stuck out the most in this or rather the one thing that stuck out the most for the first time was this post here: BKstyles It was something that really stuck with me, since I thought people were assuming that since Gavin and Crystia were both older than the rest of the Mercenaries it made them stronger somehow. Now I'm sure that probably wasn't the case, but that single post really got my team fired up to prove them wrong! lol We worked so hard on our story if only to prove BKstyles wrong about his statement a little later on that there was no way his team could lose the challenge. When we won with our "Hopeless" horror story I was so proud of Anomaly and Darren who had put so much effort into it. There were other great moments like the debate over abortion, doing the song & RPG bit when Rach had become a member of our team and even working as the Sunflowers and finally coming out on top. In the end the "Hopeless" story was probably my favorite moment of the entire thing, with the diorama of the eggs and the nails coming in second. Making that was a lot of fun. :catgirl: Regardless of who wins, I've enjoyed every minute of this game.
 23. Whee! :catgirl: It's up! *dances* I have to do my homework first, but I'll be sure to get my sign up done in the next day or two. Hehe and I agree with BKstyles, I like the aging chart you provided. As well as the short list of events. It's gonna be fun! And like my mom said... the timing is perfect. :catgirl: Oh and I agree... those banners Crystia, the one for yourself and Beth... They're so vivid and colorful! And the textures... I love those textures!
 24. Agent fluff froze, too startled by the sudden appearance of Terror Stick. What is he doing here? She clutched the antidote tighter, wondering if it was too late or not, wondering if what she had done was forgivable. A sharp voice brought her out of her feelings of regret. "Move it!" Terror Stick barked at her. With a strangled sob Fluff turned and ran as fast as she could, blocking out the sounds of the terrible fight behind her as best she could. I have to save Mother! The thought ran through her mind like a never ending litany. But at the same time, her thoughts kept going back to Terror Stick who had intervened. Once again she came to a confused halt, uncertain as to what to do. If he had not interfered, the Beast was going to kill me. She lifted up the vial of antidote and looked at it closely. Does that mean this is a fake? Cautiously she pried the lid open only to gag at the sweet stench of liquid syrup, the kind used for sodas. So it is a fake, she thought in despair. He must have simply put some food coloring in it to make it look like something else. "No..." She whispered to herself even as a cry of pain reached her ears. In the offhand chance that it just might be real, she carefully closed the vial and tucked it safely into one of her pockets. Then turning around, she ran back to where the Beast and Terror Stick were fighting. This time she did not go in secret but instead sounded the alarm, alerting other moderators in the area to the trouble that was brewing. Then moments later she was back, just in time to see the Beast strike Terror Stick down before turning and vanishing into the darkness. Fluff ran to Terror Stick's side and tried to stem flow of blood from his injuries, patiently waiting while others arrived and then arranged for both of them to be transported to the hospital. As they took him back into the emergency room to treat him, Fluff had only taken a step when she was halted by a voice. "Agent Fluff." A woman's voice said sternly. "Where is Gadget's head?" Wincing she turned to face Crystia. "I'm sorry, the Beast destroyed what was left of Gadget." Fluff looked at the floor as tears ran down her face. "The antidote was a fake. The doctor said he'd try to see if he could analyize the blood of the Beast since some of it was on Terror Stick's clothing, but..." She choked unable to continue. She didn't want to think about what he had said about the chances of him creating an antidote in time were slim. "I see." Crystia said in a softer voice. "In that case, go to your mother Agent Fluff, and please, stay put this time." Fluff tried to wipe away the tears but they wouldn't stop. With a heavy heart she nodded and then went back to the room where her mother was.
 25. Hehe, like my mom said... Congratulations Rachmaninoff! :catgirl: That was a pretty nifty poem you did for the victory bit. I agree with my mom, you did a fantastic job with that. Also, I'm glad you enjoyed my video, it was fun to make. Anyway... *poke* I'll be waiting to see what your decision finally is.
