Request [RPG] Silver One: Civil War Banner Request
Aaryanna replied to SunfallE's topic in Creative Works
*pokes Crystia* I was going to use that font! lol Now I had to go and find something else to use. Anyway... There was no way I was going to miss out on making some more banners for this. They're just too much fun to make. ^_^ Now, get that sign up posted so we can get going again! Hehe. -
Whee! :catgirl: I was really wondering how this was going to turn out since our article wasn't as to the point as it could have been. XP And that was even with us trimming out over a third of what we found. I never thought I'd make it to nearly the end of this. I certainly hoped for it but still. I had my doubts. It's going to be fun to go up against you two! Even if it will feel weird. Anyway, I'm sure once I'm done spamming here Sandy's likely to lock down our thread since we won't be The Sunflowers anymore. >_< Just when I'd gotten use to that name too. So I leave with this parting card for everyone. [I didn't make it though] It's been a lot of fun you guys and thanks for all the challenges, from everyone who's been a part of this. I enjoyed every challenge on both an individual and team level. [kicks BKstyles in the shins just for fun :p]

Not that this matters to many people, but I would really like for someone to join my rp. I have had nobody join, no matter what I do! I made a decent story, there is combat, and you don't have to be human. I've been reduced to begging! I've waited a week or more! Should I not make it to where only 7 people will get to play in the end? Please, someone, help me get SOMEBODY to join!:animecry:
Actually what DB said is correct. You haven't got much of anything to go on for your rpg. You don't have to be as though as this one but it does give an example of a real back story behind an rpg: Silver One Or you could look at this one: The Maze As you can see, both of them though they vary as to how much of a background they have, they do have one, where your's quite frankly, did not. Take this part here:
As recruits of Kari, you must be obedient. Your tests shall be difficult. Those who pass shall become hunters. Good luck!
You could have expanded on why they had to be obedient as well as giving examples of these difficult tests. Just as your opening bit could have been several paragraphs to give people a feel for what they are getting into. You mention starting equipment and money and yet explain nothing about whether or not they need repairs, how they would earn more money. No lists as to equipment they could earn. In other words, the entire thing is full of holes and confusing and I've played Phantasy Star! My advise to you would be to take a look at other rpg's review the rules on how to create one and even join a few to see how others do it. Then come back to working on making your own rpg.

Okay, I assumed that the Colonel intends to go over things with the officers first, or rather before the meeting in the main conference room. Which is why I indicated the second conference room. If I'm wrong let me know and I'll fix that.

Teresa wondered why the Colonel was in such a hurry, just as she wondered why it seemed that the Argo Navis had come to a halt. She thought about following the Colonel and then reasoned that if her presence really was needed on the bridge he would have said something when he passed her. I really need to take a quick shower, she thought. Decided, she continued to her shared quarters and spent all of about five minutes to quickly get cleaned up. And though she couldn't explain why, she slipped into a nondescript type of uniform. With gray pants and a matching gray tank top with a jacket overshirt that she left unbuttoned. Then she grabbed her IDT and headed towards the bridge. Moments later she had her answer as she saw the spacestation on the main screen. She half listened to the others as they explained what was going on but there was something about it that didn't fit. Dr. Travis was saying that the distress beacon was from an ancient Creid's language and that was likely built by them. Dr. Rhodes was up in arms about gravitational anomalies. But still, as she watched it slowly rotating, something did not sit well until finally it hit. "I'm not so sure that it's Creid's built." She declared. "How do you figure that?" Dr. Travis asked, clearly puzzled. Teresa leaned over and zoomed in on the part of the station where the name was written on the side. It was clear that at one time, something else had been there and that the shape of the letters or symbols did not match what was painted on the side. "I see, well that would explain why it doesn't match any records." Dr. Travis pulled out his CCB and started working on something, though a quick glance from her vantage point of looking over his shoulder didn't help, it was obviously a program that she had never seen. "I'll have to analyze that further since it doesn't match anything." Teresa turned Kendra, "So where's the Colonel?" Kendra just stifled a laugh. "The Colonel went to gather you officers to get prepared as a precautionary measure. Also everyone is suppose to meet in the conference room in fifteen minutes." "Gah!" Teresa exclaimed as she turned and left the bridge to go and look for the Colonel. "Why didn't she say so in the first place? Now the Colonel's going to think..." With a startled oath she flew around the corner and literally ran into Colonel DeSouza. Embarrassed she came to attention and started to apologize but DeSouza just held up his hand for her to be quiet. "So what exactly am I going to think Schovick?" He asked clearly amused. "Nothing sir, Kendra said you were looking for me sir." Great, just great. Teresa cringed inwardly. He probably came to see why I was goofing off instead of finding him. "Correct, go and get Major James and then head to the secondary conference room." Marcus turned to leave but halted when Teresa spoke up again, he turned back to face her. "Uh, don't you mean the main conference room sir?" She asked. "No Schovick." Teresa watched as he left and then swore softly even as she headed for the quarters being shared by Major James and Lt. Vayne. Oh I just know that idiot is giving Major James the cold shoulder again. She muttered under her breathe as she hurried to go and get him.

Tasha,Triela, Amy, Rebecca and Vanyel, who was still unconscious had taken refuge in a large cave along the ridge of a set of hills. The timing couldn't have been better since shortly after they arrived the energy had come down and settled on the planet itself. And though they could keep it out by using their psychic shields, those who had not been at Stonehenge were negatively affected by its presence. Triela, Rebecca and Amy were having difficulty with their own abilities and could no longer talk to the members in the other groups. Tasha still could, but only with those who had been at Stonehedge and no one else. She had already heard from Chloe about how the animals seemed to be behaving erratically as well as how Lenny had been killed. Tasha turned to look at the others who were resting. With Vanyel still out she figured that the others should go ahead and rest as well. The cave had required teleporting to even get there so other than those flying creatures, others would not be able to get to their position. With five of them it would be easy to take turns. Though she had no intention of waking Vanyel, she had sensed how much using that fire ability of hers had exhausted her. Tasha looked back out at the valley, at this rate they'd end up leaving without finding anyone. The place was just to damn big, and with the energy affecting not only the animals but those who were not at Stonehenge, they would be even more limited by what the others couldn't do. She wondered if she would have to physically take each person back down to the ground if they couldn't teleport. Before the dangers didn't seem like much of an issue since they all could to some degree protect themselves but now? She looked at her watch, even though it was useless as far as day and night would go here, it did at least tell her that they had been there for nearly a full Earth day. A slight scuffing noise caught her attention and she turned to see that Vanyel was finally coming around. "Took you long enough," she teased. "I was beginning to think that we'd have to carry you." Vanyel just ignored the jab and came over to sit down next to Tasha, "How long was I out?" She asked after she took a moment to get comfortable, at least as comfortable as anyone could on a large rock. "About six hours." Tasha answered her. She then took a moment to explain everything that had happened. "So you see, you and I are the only ones in our group that are unaffected by the energy coming down to the planet." She finished. "What do the others think?" "They intend to keep searching, hopefully by the time we have to leave the energy will have left or we'll be able to work around it." Tasha turned and picked up a small sack and tossed it to Vanyel who caught it and then gave her a questioning look. "While you were out I went and got us some wild fruit. Rebecca can tell if something is safe to eat or not and though it's not exactly what I would choose, it is at least acceptable. There's some water in there too." She stood up and stretched as Vanyel opened up the bag and took the strange fruit out. "I'm going to try and get some rest. If you find that you're still tired, wake one of the others and let them keep watch." Tasha stifled a yawn. "Once we've all rested we'll start searching again." Then once she was sure Vanyel really was awake she found a semi comfortable spot further back in the cave and stretched out. Within a short time she was fast asleep.

As for theOtaku's podcast, yeah... I was shocked by all of the swearing when I listened to it for the first time. I'm not sure if every episode is like that, but it definitely turned me off. -Shy
Oh you just gotta love the irony. Just take note of the very first rule at theOtaku/myOtaku's site guidelines: Rules Can we say hypocrisy? Or I suppose it's a typo that Adam forgot the part about swearing is okay if it's in the podcast. Seriously though I use to recommend myO/theO to my friends but not after one of my friends was listening to the podcast on her computer and her mother heard those guys tossing the F world back and forth. That earned her an instant ban from that site completely. So I don't bother to recommend it anymore. Anyway, I'm sure there's one out there that's fun to listen to. But theOtaku.com's podcast is definately not it. Which is really a shame, since for those episodes that they manage to actually not swear, they are actually funny. :animesigh

OOC: I'm so sorry this is so late, I got caught up with all my uni work. Hope this is still accepted because you haven't said anything. Word count of the actual RP bit is 798.
No need to apologize and you are definately still in time. I apologize for not posting sooner, but indifference and I decided to extend the time allowed since many people started school this past week, myself included. XP Many of us have ended up far busier than we anticipated. However, now that three people have posted their entries that leaves only SunfallE and Premonition to get their entries in unless they wish to be stuck! ^_~ And having said that the two of you have until the end of Monday the 27th to get your entries in. The poll for deciding the winner will go up on Tuesday the 28th. :catgirl:

Whee! :catgirl: Even though I'm sad to have put up my final post for this part. XP But Crystal is obviously not going to do what Kiva did, though a part of her wants to. However, she'd rather walk away from the whole mess since she kind of thinks both sides are idiots. lol But her sense of duty won't let her so she's focusing on making preparations for the medical side of the war as well as dealing with refugees, etc. So long as there are people who need help like that she will continue to do her job. Anyway... I love how it worked out for Daniel and Kiva. I mean considering how good Kiva was at being an Imperial agent, I just bet Stevens was literally shocked when she ran. And it's supremely ironic that she took Daniel and the most advanced ship with her. I bet Stevens is furious! Hehe! Anyway, I'll be waiting for the next part to start, I just hope we don't have to wait to long since it's been lots of fun. That and I'm eager to see what happens. It's too bad that both Jason and Celestia are still stuck in sector one though. XP

Crystal had hoped that things would not degenerate to war, but with sectors seven, eight, ten, eleven and now twelve joining with sector nine it was looking like it was unavoidable. She knew that Stevens had tried to reason with the representatives in sector nine, but she also knew that Stevens and the others would not free the lesser races. Personally she could understand the decision, but considering what had happened she could also see why people were demanding it. And though she had no problem with it, Crystal also could see that instantly freeing them just wouldn't work. If only that fool had been willing to negotiate slowly giving them their freedom. Crystal couldn't help but shake her head, disgusted with how things had turned out. Stevens and the others were unwilling to budge and unfortunately close to ninety percent of those residing in sectors one through six agreed. And though those in sector thirteen probably did not, it didn't matter. Earth was still firmly under Versilan control, as well as sector fourteen. And those in the other sectors, enough of them disagreed that control of those sectors was now lost and though she figured it would not last long, at the moment they were considering themselves separate from the rest of the Empire. Closing their borders to anyone wishing to pass. It was a situation that Crystal was sure that Stevens would move to correct and when she got immediate orders to return to the Tempest and prepare her crew, she knew that he was going to make a move. It was going to get ugly, even though most of the strongest military power was located in sectors one through six, it didn't change the fact that there was now a lot that was unaccounted for. And though she was not a true Commander even she could see how being between the sectors would make putting an end to the conflict difficult, they were essentially surrounded, only sector five was completely surrounded by safe borders. I wish I was not a part of this mess. She thought even as she left the bridge to gather her things to head over to the Creator and give Erica her treatment. Even though she would follow orders, just the thought of the bloodshed that would result was enough to make her want to simply quit. But as always Crystal carried out her duties as she always did. Completely ignoring Erica's attempts to talk to her and simply retiring in her quarters on the Tempest when she was done. It was a shame that it had come to this. Of all things she would have never imagined that they would end up going to war with themselves. And since it was what she always did, Crystal simply started going over emergency preparations for treating the injured or the sick as well as dealing with other aspects such as temporary shelters and supplies. It would be best to assume that any planet in any sector could be affected and prepare accordingly.

1.) Long or short Short, though not too short, long is okay I guess, but I rarely let it get long. I like washing it and simply letting it air dry with no fuss required. 2.) Color Blonde 3.) Have you dyed it? Nope 4.) If you have dyed it, what colors has it been? I think I already answered this one. But I suppose I could elaborate and say that I have no plans on dying it. I like how it looks. ^_^ 5.) What length do you prefer on the opposite sex? Well you see, I've yet to enter that so called boy crazy phase so I could care less what length a guys hair is. About the only thing I prefer is that he keeps it clean. I've got one class at school where I swear the guy never takes a bath and his hair is just nasty and greasy looking. That and he stinks. >_< If I ever do care about what length their hair is... I'll get back to you on this.

Personally I use photoshop elements 4.0 It's what I've used to create the image results for the three quizzes I submitted. However if you can't get a copy of that, and I honestly don't remember what my mom paid for it. Anyway, there is a free program called GIMP that is suppose to be similar to photoshop. You could always try that. It even has all sorts of helpful information and tutorials at the site to show you how to use it. You might want to check your computer as well for any viruses or updates if you are using windows. I've often run into something not letting me upload stuff and it turned out to be a virus that needed to be removed, or an update that I needed instead of the site not working.

I currently only listen to theO's podcast, mostly out of habit. I've grown accustomed to Ichigo and Batou's mannerisms, so they don't bug me as much as they used to, lol.
Meh, I've never gotten past the they annoy the hell out of me stage. So I quit listening to them. XP I'm sure there must be a podcast somewhere that is good, but for the most part I find them kind of boring since I'd rather read the material instead of listening to someone attempt to tell it in a funny manner. :animesigh

I just realized something, it couldn't have been related to the unknown project in sector fourteen since Stevens knows what that project is! lol Oh I feel silly! I don't know what I was thinking. Though I suppose it made what the secret was more fun since I was kind of off as to what I thought it might be. I was thinking it was another bizarre alteration actually. Though upon reflection I clearly see that what it turned out to be made sense.
Oh for the love of! [swears] I am so blonde lately! >_< Gah! I should have realized that it couldn't be the third project. XP So yeah, I totally missed that since I mislead myself by thinking it was related to a project that Stevens and my own character already knew about! *feels silly* It was me who didn't know not the characters. Boy do I feel dumb. lol You were right Rachmaninoff, you me and my Mom are the clueless ones here. I just know that SunfallE, indifference and GuyYouMetOnline must be laughing at us. At least a little bit, I know I would, in a nice way of course. XP And yeah, it goes without saying, that would really cause a mess, especially since most Versilans consider themselves superior to the 'lesser' races. Talk about a mess! lol Still once you get the sequel running SunfallE *pokes* That will be fun to exploit since that sort of prejudice will run quite deep for some of the Versilans.

I like objectives too. Since like Crystia mentioned they make it easier for you to be creative without messing things up. But I also like having a certain amount of freedom, like what I did with Kendra, having Teresa pretty much make her choice as to where she would be rooming for her. XP It just seemed funny at the time. Also, I kind of figured that since my character is an officer, that I was not one of the ones to get instructions. I was expecting that to happen when BKstyles posted again as the Colonel since it makes sense to me that his character would be telling mine what she would be doing. Now I just have to figure out if Nakeisha is going to annoy Teresa or not. Hehe, I just love how you do her Shy, with her know it all attitude and making assumptions about what people are doing as well as their abilities. I can see that those two, her and Kendra, are going to be at odds for quite some time. lol :catgirl:

Maybe so. All I was doing in my "trip description" post was just that: describing a typical trip for me (just to point out to KenshinSorrow that they were not getting high). I wasn't glorifying it, I was simply stating it as I see it. I too hate it when people are ignorant about drug use. It truly is dangerous business, and definitely not for those who are unprepared.
I understand what SunfallE was getting at, with the glorifying bit. Both of us live in the same town and that's exactly how a lot of teens are. They talk about how cool and wonderful it is and when you bring up the danger issue they go nuts on you. Screaming about how you're just a stuck up [insert swear word here] who doesn't know how to have fun. XP Believe me I've gotten that from former friends who are into all sorts of illegal drugs. Not one of them came back and openly admitted that there was a danger, instead they just keep ramming it in your face about how 'safe' illegal drugs are when no drug is safe. And I have to admit, it's rare, at least for me, to see anyone who does recreational drugs like you say you do and yet still be willing to fess up to the very real dangers of using them. I would imagine you'll probably be one of the only people who I've talked to who does understand why I refuse to use them. And that ties back to what you were saying earlier about health considerations. I have problems with hypoglycemia and have to watch what I eat very carefully to keep my blood sugar from getting too low. I've been told many times by my doctor to avoid taking anything offered to me by other kids. So I take that advice seriously.

Tenchi-sama, I will be closing this thread for a couple of reasons. First of all as it says in IMPORTANT: How to Post in Anime Lounge OtakuBoards emphasizes quality discussion in its threads. To meet the site's standards, make sure your posts are clear and have a point that adds to the conversation. Also, use of proper spelling and grammar is important. By quality we mean it's important to actually do more with the opening post of a thread since that's what gets the discussion going. Instead of closed questions that ask for a yes I have watched it or no I haven't response, you want to ask people what did you think of it? or what did you like the best about it? Also you could have taken the time to describe the show so people would know what it's about. As well as explaining why you think it's good or rather why it gets good as you watch it. If you wish to recreate the thread feel free, but be sure to include a brief summary of what the show is about and why you enjoyed it. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~Aaryanna Thread Closed
-
Tenchi-sama, doing what you did, posting and only listing shows instead of taking the time to tell a bit about each one is considered spam. If not for other members like 2007DigitalBoy posting well and saving the thread I would be closing it right now. Remember, as it says in IMPORTANT: How to Post in Anime Lounge OtakuBoards emphasizes quality discussion in its threads. To meet the site's standards, make sure your posts are clear and have a point that adds to the conversation. And simply listing shows is not considered quality. I expect further posts to have more to them otherwise I really will close this thread. So lets try to do more than simply list shows here. I'll start. I actually don't have a lot of dvd's for the simple reason that I don't work, after all I'm still in High School and not even old enough to have my drivers license yet. XP So right now I only have all the dvd's to DNAngel, a fun story about a boy who turns into a phantom thief, Pretear, a Japanese version of snow white, only the main star has seven knights instead of dwarfs. And the last one I have is Fruits Basket. One of my favorites, it's simply a story about a girl who ends up living with a family who is cursed. My mom also likes anime so we have dvd's that are more shared, like Case Closed, this one is about a boy who's a detective so if you like mysteries you'd love it. I wish I could say we have all of it, but so far only about 100 of the 400+ episodes have been licensed to be released in America. Right now we probably have about the first 50 or so of the episodes along with one of the movies. The rest I either see on TV, though our cable service's on demand or two friends who loan me dvd's from their collection. Shameless borrowing works rather well actually. Oh and I do have fansub sites that I go to for stuff that's not out on dvd. That's where I watch shows like Lucky Star. It's amazing how funny a show about four girls in school can be. :catgirl:

I wouldn't say that you did it wrong, but rather I would say, why does it matter? If you wish to discuss this series we do have a thread here in the manga workshop: Hana Kimi If you wish to tell the podcast that they are incorrect, the best place to do that would be to either comment on the actual podcast itself, or visit their myOtaku page and pm them over there. Here's the link: animepulse Beyond that I really don't see a point for this thread, so I'm going to close it. If you have any questions, feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~Aaryanna Thread Closed

It would still be a few hours until the results of the tests came back. Crystal wasn't even sure why she was doing it again, she was always so careful about preparing the tests, the chances of her messing up were pretty much non-existent. But still... I can't possibly tell Stevens that without double checking. Waiting for them to be done was frustrating, she didn't dare leave the lab, it would take very little for Jacobs or anyone else to see that she was upset. With a start of surprise she realized that she was pacing back and forth in the lab. I need to calm down. But the chime of an incoming transmission didn't give her the chance. When she saw who it was Crystal considered ignoring it, until she saw the location. And once she saw that her curiosity got the better of her. Jacobs did not contact her from the medical wing very often. "What is it Jacobs?" She said shortly. "Celestia collapsed, and though she's not in any danger, I'm concerned that in spite of the medication you put her on she still was stressed enough for something like this to happen. I'd really like it if you could come and take a look, if you can that is." Crystal looked over to the equipment running the tests. Why not? She thought. It would give her something to do instead of fretting for the next couple of hours. She turned back to Jacobs, who was patiently waiting for her reply. "Very well, I'll be right over." Crystal terminated the transmission and gathered her things. It didn't take her long to get to the medical wing where Jacobs was located and focusing on what had happened with Celestia made it easier for her to calm down. She had barely entered the medical section when Jacobs motioned to her from the main desk. "Ah Crystal, thank you for coming." He handed her a small reader with the chart for Celestia. "As you can see here from the tests we did, she had what appears to be an unusual reaction to the medicine you put her on. It was easy enough to counter, but I'm concerned that the stress levels managed to peak that high even with it in her system." Crystal glanced at the numbers, Jacobs was right, it should not have happened. "Have you given her something to neutralize it?" "My aide is doing that right now," He motioned towards the room they were in and continued while the headed towards it. "My thoughts is that it's her human side that is causing this, though I'm not sure what triggered it." Crystal just nodded as they entered the room where the aide was finishing up with the treatment. He nodded to Jacobs and then left the room. Crystal took a moment to scan Celestia, noting that the treatment was working and then turned to Jason. "What happened? What were you and Celestia doing before she collapsed?" She waited patiently for Jason to answer even as she noticed other things that needed to be addressed. "We were working on getting in the Council data vaults this morning. Once we finished with one we were taking a small break." Jason explained. "Matt, the other researcher left briefly to go and update James on our progress. But before he left he turned the news on as he often does. That's when we heard about Daniel being captured and Celestia got upset. A few minutes later she collapsed." Daniel? As in Daniel Landers? Crystal pulled out her hand held computer and checked the updates, sure enough, his capture was listed. He had been caught in sector one no less while attempting to flee the area. Crystal just shook her head sadly, no wonder Celestia was upset. She had meant to check the updates earlier but she forgot. "I see." Crystal finally said. "I'm sorry." She pulled up one of her programs as a Commander and located the file. Elite Commander Dakar would not approve but frankly she didn't give a damn. She transmitted the codes to unlock the restraints on both Jason and Celestia and then removed them. "Uh Crystal," Jacobs started to object. "Shut up Jacobs." Crystal snapped. "I'll take full responsibility. For now once she wakes up move them back to their quarters. Both of them need several days off to rest, understand?" "Yes." "Good." Crystal said, then with a slight nod to Jason she left, only waiting until she was back in the lab to contact Stevens. He was less than thrilled at what she had done but she didn't care. "One other thing Stevens," Crystal said. "What are your plans for Daniel Landers?" "For now Kiva and her crew will be taking care of things, the Transcendence is equipped to handle interrogations. Why do you ask?" "Because unless you want Celestia's mind to end up shattered, you'd better reconsider. I've warned you about this before, everyone has their limits Stevens and destroying everything she holds dear will result in her withdrawing into herself." Crystal glared at him. "Crystal, just what are you saying?" "What I've always been saying Stevens! That we've got to stop treating our own people as well as those of the lesser races like scum! Why the hell do you think we even have a problem with people forming a resistance? It's because we're too damn stupid to own up to our mistakes and fix them!" "Whoa Crystal! What's got you so upset?" Stevens asked, surprised at her outburst. "You'll find out in a few hours Stevens, and trust me, you will not like it." And with that Crystal cut the communication, irritated to no end. Stevens tried to contact her but she refused to answer. That fool will find out soon enough. Crystal looked over to the equipment, only a little longer and then all hell would break loose. Tasha like the others was surprised that Thomas's group had found other people on the planet, but in the end it didn't matter. They still had to recover as many people as possible before they were required to return to Earth. So far the native animals didn't seem interested in them, but she was sure it was only a matter of time before they ran into some that were predators. All thoughts of the animals was shoved out of her mind as she approached the center of what seemed to be the cluster of thoughts. Immediately she extended her psychic shields to include the thoughts. At first nothing seemed to happen and then... Who? We've come to take you back to Earth. She assured them, clearly sensing their confusion as to where they were. So tired. Tasha extended her own consciousness a bit, offering a mental anchor for them to hold on to. A moment later they took it and settled into place. She turned to face the others who were waiting. "You were right Vanyel, they didn't even realize where they were or that they had been seperated from their body or what was going on around them. Also, I don't know about the others but this person was mentally tired, I had to anchor them to my own mind since they lacked the strength to do anything." She quickly showed the others what she had done. "Won't that make you tired as well?" Vanyel asked. "No, and if you think about it you'll see why. Once they are anchored their own energy will keep them there, at least so long as they are within my psychic shields. Anyway, I informed the others, so we need to keep looking." Tasha turned and looked around, thinking of which way they should go next. Even if Thomas's group had found people here, she had yet to sense or hear any thoughts that did not belong to someone from Earth. "Anyway, we should keep hunting while we have time. Sooner or later we'll have to rest ourselves so we should keep an eye out for a place that's semi defendable, so far the animals have ignored us but I'm sure there are dangerous ones we have yet to run across." She waited until the others nodded their agreement. Then she turned and started down the slope that lead into the valley they had found, hopefully they could get across it before they needed to rest, she did not want to be out in the open. A while later they were halfway through the valley when the sound of something coming their way could be heard. Tasha did not have to wonder just what it was as a herd of animals that were about the size of a small horse came into view. It was obvious that they were running from something as they were moving as if something had them panicking. "Over there!" She cried as she pointed to a small rise that would put them out of the way of the stampede. Tasha didn't have to say anything else as the others followed her lead and teleported out of the way. All of them turned to watch once they were out of harms way. And then each of them instinctively lay flat when the animal chasing them came into view. Damn! Tasha thought at the others. That's going to be a problem. She could feel the others agreement as they watched the larger animal that resembled the ancient dinosaurs that once roamed Earth. It was about the size of an elephant and yet reminded them of a giant lion only hairless. They watched as it chased the other smaller animals until finally with a powerful leap it took one down, killing it with a swift bite to it's neck. We should get out of here while it's busy. She looked at the others who merely nodded. Tasha ignored the uneasy look in their eyes as they crept away and out of sight before standing up and taking advantage of their ability to fly to hover above the ground and move quickly and quietly. Once they had covered quite a bit of ground, Tasha came to a halt and landed back on the ground. "I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that we'll have to be extra careful from now on. Anyway, I've told the others about that as well." She turned and looked back and then gave the others a small smile as they continued. I guess we'll have to take turns keeping watch when we finally do stop to rest. She thought to herself.

Also, that bit that is enough to cause Civil War, don't bet on it being related to the undisclosed project in sector fourteen. SunfallE is being very quiet about that even to me so I'm thinking she just might have something else in mind altogether. And that has me supremely curious. To see if it's that hidden project or something else altogether.
Feh! You don't know the half of it. It's funny since my objective was along the lines of... Dr Crystal will find some new genes that have never been seen before and then later she'll be shocked when she realizes just what they are... Only... I still don't know what they are! Since it seems that SunfallE will be revealing that part. lol And now that I've done my part... *pokes SunfallE* I'm eager to finally find out just what is going to result in Civil War! Though part of me will be sad since that will mean we are finished and I like this rpg! But then I suppose I can look forward to the sequel. :catgirl: Though how Daniel is gong to fit into that picture is beyond me. XP After all, for all intents and purposes, he's caught. Poor Daniel. >_

Dr. Jacobs was starting to get on Crystal's nerves. Enough that she had started avoiding him whenever possible. But any time she was not in the lab, he was talented at finding her, insisting on chatting about normal going ons to eventually leading around to the rumors about Civil War. She has forgotten just how much he annoyed her, but then until recently, Crystal hadn't seen him that much and she had to wonder why he was making such a nuisance of himself. But then she knew, she did know why, after all, considering his tendency to gossip, she potentially had the best information as to what was going on. But Crystal would have thought that after all these years he would have realized that it didn't matter how many times he pestered her or tried to get her to mention something. She simply did not gossip at all. And she most certainly wouldn't discuss details of a top secret research project with someone who didn't have clearance. Crystal had finished her lunch and was taking a walk in the gardens in the Council center, her thoughts still on the checkup she had given both Celestia and Jason. It had been strange to see both of them again, and at the same time it made her wonder about their treatment of the lesser races. At least in Celestia's case, after all she was only half human. With her father being a Versilan, it just seemed as if they were enslaving their own kind as well. But then that was part of why it was forbidden to mingle with the lesser races. To avoid the obvious complications that would occur as a result. She was about to leave the gardens to head back to the lab when a familiar face made her want to cringe. Why can't that fool find something better to do? "Hey Crystal! There you are. I was wondering what you were up to." Jacobs said with a friendly smile. I don't want to deal with this. Crystal thought as he approached. "Jacobs, I don't have time to talk to you right now." "I understand, after all, they are keeping you busy." "No Jacobs," Crystal replied as she decided to be blunt. "I am sick of your attempts to pry information out of me just so you can gossip like an old fool." "I'm sorry, Crystal, I don't mean to be a pain." He managed to look a bit ashamed of himself, but Crystal was still irritated. "I guess it's just habit. As well as being genuinely concerned about Civil War breaking out. I feel powerless to do anything to make sure nothing like that happens." "You should know by now that gossip won't help anything," She admonished him. Wondering why she was even still talking to him at that moment. But then for once Jacobs went all serious on her. "Its more than that Crystal, I have friends who are distantly related to the Council members who have not been cleared yet. If something really did happen, they'd be affected, and to be frank, that worries me a lot. If war did break out between the factions, anyone with ties to the families of the High Council will end up being a target." He looked away. "More than anything I wish I could make sure that won't happen." Crystal sighed a bit, "There's nothing you can do Jacobs. You have to trust that those who took over are doing everything they can to return things back to normal." She waited for him to turn back, even though Crystal would have rather left, she could understand the concern. She felt the same way, but then she knew that Erica so far had been correct about everything she had told them. Crystal was worried about what she would find. Jacobs looked back, "I know, and again, I'm sorry for being such a pain. I promise that I'll stop prying. Just stop avoiding me okay?" He gave her a lopsided smile and then turned around and left. Crystal just shook her head and then left for the lab. If he really did keep his word and quit prying, she'd quit avoiding him. But the day that happened... Crystal laughed to herself as she entered the lab. Jacobs would never change. Then as she started checking the first set of results on the unknown genes, all thoughts of Jacobs were forgotten at what she saw. What the hell? That can't be right! Crystal read the results again, and then again. No! She shook her head. That has to be a mistake! But the more she checked the more she began to wonder, until finally, Crystal prepared the lab to run the test again. I can't possibly tell Stevens the results without double checking it first! It took her several hours to set it up again and then start the tests. Then, she turned and left, heading to the comfort of her quarters on board the Tempest, still rattled by what she had found.

I think some of you people are seriously mixing up "teaching kids what homosexuality is" to "teaching kids how to be homosexuals". The case is obviously about the first option, and you shouldn't get all worked up about it. It's not like homosexuality should be the "private matter no one should discuss" like some people still seem to think.
Not really Sandy, as sad as it is. A lot of people really do think it's learned instead of being something that you are. They really believe that having that in school would make people homosexual.
We need to get away from this idea of homosexuality as a "lifestyle" and "teaching someone to be gay". Doesn't work like that, folks. It'd be like teaching a blue-eyed child to have brown eyes - it has nothing to do with learned behaviour.
Like I told Sandy, people really believe it is taught instead of being the way you are. Its part of what makes it so hard for others to accept it. They've grown up thinking that it's not natural in any sense of the word. However, that really shows just how ignorant or uneducated people are and yet it makes getting that education even harder since even if it was taught, they'd argue over just what was taught. I believe that the last time anything like that was brought up here in Utah more than 70% of the people were against it because as they put it... "we don't need to turn our kids gay" It's not true of course, but still that stupidity exists. Personally I think its long overdue, but I can't even vote yet so all I can do is voice my opinion that it should be part of sex ed. But then we don't even fully have that for straight sex either. Let alone homosexuality. XP
