?Nooooooooooooo!? Aaryanna screamed as the light to take her back to OtakuBoards surrounded her and she heard the familiar chime before Sandy?s voice spoke over the mall?s announcement system. ?Aaryanna has been captured.? Then seconds later? ?BKstyles has been captured.?
It's funny, but when I read that, I actually was thinking... Nooooooo! XP Man! I wanted to win! :bawl: Though seeing that you woke up before it finished this was a good way to end it. Even if I didn't get to kick BKstyles in the shins or zap him. Feh!
Rach just laughed, ?Yup, it?s full of rabid fan girls.?
Now that was perfect! *laughs* I love that last bit where we stuffed Sandy into a thread and you locked him in. Anyway, that was great fun to read and I too hope you have another wacky dream about OB. Because I'd love to see more cool stories like this. :catgirl:

That's kind of what I figure happened to the other guys, but for the ones already on this journey we'll just have to ignore them i guess. Or I could have them get eaten by dinosaurs. I really, really want someone to get eaten by a dinosaur. I.E. don't get too attached to all of those NPCs XD
Mwahahahaha! If I'd known that.... Someone would have already died. XP Seriously, I was expecting people to end up either dead or stuck on that world at the end of this chapter. I just thought you would be doing that. *starts plotting which NPC to do in* lol

So yes, I'm in Southern California, so I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who thinks they have worse air pollution where they live. Mostly because on a good day I can dimly see the outline of the mountains not fifteen miles from my current location. Oh a bad day I'm not sure where I am. It's like I live in a toxic fog of hellish horror... ...and yes, those things kill me too, I just don't have asthma attacks.
Well no one has said they have worse pollution. XP But for what we do have here in Utah, it is annoying, those inversion days we get in the winter are nasty and like you said, you can't even see the outline of the mountains or anything else for that matter. And that sort of stuff really gets my allergies, I don't have any problems with pollen and trees or any of that green stuff. And so far I've never had food make me sick, though I am hypoglycemic so I avoid refined sugar since it messes me up. For the most part the worse thing I get is sinus headaches. And occasionally I get really, congested as well. But most of the time the medicine I take keeps things from bothering me too much.

If you want to pm them and see if they intend to post, that works for me, otherwise, if we end up with just five I'm still game. It's kind of sad to lose others but I'm still enjoying it just the same. And since it's sort of a community format with Esper Jam, losing people makes sense, they just end up doing other things once they become a part of Esper Hall. ^_~

All right team, I went through and added some more details to the current article. So look it over and tell me what you think. :catgirl: I'm just glad that Sandy didn't give us a limit on words or length. Especially since I didn't expect to find so many interesting things about it. Hehe. The whole thing is making me think of doing another article for Otakupedia. Provided I have time that is, what with school starting next week and all. XP

I think lifting the 'one thread per subject rule' is a good start.
That's what I'm thinking, instead of having more sub forums. Simply broadening the current discussions. After all it would be pretty simple to merge threads that are far to similar, but obviously there will be reasons to have separate threads on the same show. I like that idea better than having sub forums for different animes or franchises. It opens up the discussion without the need to determine which shows or franchises warrant their own forum.

We could use some more interviews with people as well. Maybe interview someone about an RPG they made. Like when the article for the Ponopticon was made, interview a player about an RPG. I know I'd like to interview DB about his last two RP's, Esper Jam and Shinigami Dance, and I'm part of both Rp's, so an article wouldn't be hard for me to make.
I was talking with my Mom about this Prem, why don't you go ahead and start working on it? It would make an interesting article in my opinion. ^_~ Then once you have it ready just send it to my Mom. Anyway... I'm going to go ahead and write up the one on the Sci - Fi Showdown since I've no idea when it's going to get the final judgment. >_< And I really want to get that done before I get busy with school again.

Edit: Or we could just get rid of the guestbook and friend links to make the line shorter. Those bits always seemed unnecessary to me since there's already a link to the person's main page, from which you can do both of those things.
I like this idea instead of getting rid of the line. Or the ability to choose works for me. But in the end... I like having the line there, at least the part that lets you know if someone has updated recently.

Anime Your Anime/Manga Look Alike [Image Heavy]
Aaryanna replied to Aberinkula's topic in Otaku Central
Well, personality wise, I'm nothing like her but still, other than the long hair I do look a lot like her. XP Though my hair has become a darker blonde so it's not as light as Collete's is in the game anymore. But I do have the blue eyes as well as being on the short and small side. I'm just far more forward that she is. lol Picture I do like the game Tales of Symphonia so I guess it's not too bad to look like one of the characters in it. -
Well I caught this as well, before realizing that it was just snippets from the manga. And though I thought the concept was pretty cool, it still kind of frustrated me that there wasn't more. But then I don't have a lot of money for picking up manga and the local library doesn't carry it. Still, if they ever did animate more I'd probably watch it. Since I'd love to see more behind what happened in the first place. ^_^ That and I thought the surreal feel to the imagery was pretty cool. And if by chance I do come across the manga and have a chance to read it, I probably will.

Well I'm not a big chocolate person, but when I do have it I like it to have something in it like almonds. So if I was a chocolate, I'd be a light chocolate with almonds and a hint of mint flavoring. Now that would be tasty! Don't know what name I'd use though. However the wrapper would have to have pink in there somewhere. Definitely a nice pretty hot pink!

On the computer? Nothing, I was playing Diablo II Lord of Destruction for a while but when I got to the desert boss on the hell level I put it aside and I haven't been back. He's such a pain to kill in the normal and nightmare levels that I just haven't been able to bring myself to go after him. In my gamecube I currently have Baten Kaitos Origins, it's the prequel to Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. It's ironic, but I like the sequel far better. I like the voice actors better, the storyline better and most of all, they've made some improvements to the card duel system where you can even have combos with the other fighters. In my playstation2 I have Tales of the Abyss, it's probably the one I'm playing the most since I really enjoy it. The battle system has more options than Tales of Smyphonia did and as Rach said... Mieu is adorable, I love Mieu! ^_^ It's a great game and I love all the different characters as well as the storyline. I'm also playing Star Ocean: Till the End of Time since I'm working on the bonus dungeons. I haven't quite finished the second one in the caves, but I'm not that far off. One of these days I'm going to start a game and play the next level of difficulty.

Well I finally got to watch the first dvd to this show. I'm already addicted to it, Haruhi is just so priceless in how she shamelessly forces others to do what she wants. I find myself feeling sorry for Kyon a bit. Especially when Haruhi got the idea
for her club during class and just grabbed Kyon, causing his head to slam in to the desk. Ouch!
So far I'm loving the voice actors, I've always liked Crispin Freeman so I love how he does Kyon's voice. Anyway, I'm wondering where this will end up going since I'm far enough along that I've learned about the other students who are in the SOS Brigade and why they are there. I gotta say though, that
bunny suit stunt Haruhi pulled to get attention for their club
was priceless. As well as what she did to the computer club. lol

I'd have been happy to provide descriptions for all of them, but... well, that might have taken up too much time & space. :animeswea Since you know your tastes better than I do, please feel free to ask me further questions if anything catches your interest.
That list with the links is fantastic. :catgirl: Especially since Amazon has descriptions of the books. I can guarantee you that I'll be making a list to take with me to the library tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Trust me I'll eventually get to all of them. I tend to read quite a lot so it bugs me when I'm not having good luck finding stuff to read. Heh. Oh and by all means, if there are more suggestions... I'd love to hear them. I mean it when I say I read a lot. Oh and dMage, even though it's been a while, I have read the Chronicles of Narnia books as well as watched the shows that were made from the books. I kind of had too since Tom Baker, the fourth doctor from Dr. Who played one of the other characters in Narnia in one of the later books. Fun stuff! :catgirl:

Just as the title says, I'd like to know what people would recommend as far as reading goes. I'm looking for specific titles that you've enjoyed. Basically I'd like to expand what I read a bit, but sometimes it's hard to know what to pick up. I've tried finding things but it doesn't always work out. If it helps I'm very much into Science Fiction and Fantasy, I'm a big fan of Mercedes Lackey, Timothy Zahn, Terry Brooks, David Eddings and Christopher Stasheff. But I'm sure there's more authors or rather books out there that I have yet to find. Also, since I'm sure these two would get mentioned, I have read most of the Harry Potter Series and attempted to read Tolkien's works. I enjoyed Potter, but Tolkien? >_< That I did not. So I realize people adore Tolkien, but I'm not looking for a recommendation of his works, I've already tried reading his stuff. Anyway, I'd love to hear what you guys think is good to read and why, as well as a tiny bit of what the book is about. Especially since I'd love to have the chance to pick some of them up at the Library when I go on Monday. :catgirl:

by my as the nevertheless, and here the father of my friend it is tight of villages on the anime, it expends the heap of money, it sits and looks it to the night, it became large fan.
A word of advise dasving, I know someone mentioned simply using a translation program to type in Russian and have it convert it to English for you, but the result is unreadable since the grammar is completely out of whack. Honestly I have no clue what you just said. XP If you are going to use a translator, stick to single words only for spelling, not for the whole thing okay? In the long run, you'll learn English a lot faster if you only use a translator for single words and as little as possible. ^_~

What I really want is a girlfriend/wife with a good job who'll let me stay at home with the kids and freelance work :animesigh
*poke* Figures. :p Anyway, as others have said, it's always a good idea to work hard since you can't go back and redo things. But at the same time I'd make sure the classes will even do you any good. Otherwise, other than to learn, there's no point in taking them. Though I like learning so I'd probably take them. I've taken college classes where you simply audit them and don't get a grade, just because they were fun. It's too bad I can't afford to simply go to college, otherwise, I would. I don't like High School. >_< So basically, take the time to find out if those classes will help or not, once you know that, making your choice will be easier. :catgirl:

By far my favorite is talking with someone in person. :catgirl: It's just so nice for so many reasons, well so long as the conversation isn't a bad experiance or an argument. Those I could do without. IM I'm sure is nice, but I rarely use it. For one thing I prefer to spend my spare time reading, or doing other things instead of being online, so it's not very practical for me. E-mail and pm's are really the best way to catch me online since I usually do check in every day for a bit so I always get those. They work well since you can take the time to write out what you need and catch mistakes. Posting is fun and my second favorite since it lets me talk to people I probably would never get the chance to meet in real life. So from that standpoint I really love it. :catgirl: I definitely like coming here are reading what's up with people as well as their opinions on different subjects, and rpg's are great fun.

1. Do you have any birthday traditions? Not really, just the standard, cake & ice cream along with presents, a small party and such. 2. What was your best birthday present ever? (if you say 'life' I'll slap you!) I wouldn't say I have a best birthday present ever... I've gotten a lot of fun things over the years. Like last year, I got a playstation2 and this year I got a bunch of anime DVD's and some new games for my playstation2. Since they were what a wanted, they were fantastic presents. Oh I have to take that back, last year part of my present was finding out that I would get to go with SunfallE and her family to Yellowstone National park in the fall. That week in the park was unbelievably fun. :catgirl: 3. Has knowing your age ever given you a certain midnset? Did you ever feel like you'd passed a certain rung or like you had to change? Not really. I thought one would feel different when they became a teenager, but nothing felt different. I'm fifteen now so I guess the next so-called milestone is turning sixteen and being old enough to drive and not be considered jail bait anymore [though I don't care about that part XP] Anyway, so I guess I'll find out if that makes me feel any different or not next year. 4. What was your favorite birthday? Getting to go with SunfallE to Yellowstone National park, even though I had to wait until the fall, finding out that I was going to get to go had me beyond hyper just waiting for the trip. So even though that trip wasn't on my actual 'birth' day so to speak, it was by far one of the funnest things I got to do.

Crystal was working on the full genetic analysis of the High Council members and their extended families when she came across a very odd occurrence. Stray genes that served no purpose. Normally such an abnormality would be ignored since the genes in question were harmless. But when she tried to track down just what they were, they did not match any of the known and mapped genes of the Versilan race. It was to be frank puzzling. Further analysis of the genes showed that they were only a fragment of a greater code, leaving her even more in the dark as to what they could be. A similar search on the members of the High Council who had been cleared showed that none of them had these stray genes. In fact, if not for the current extensive test, it was likely no one would have even realized they were there, even the genetics for reproduction were not required to be as extensive as the tests she was doing. Even though the technology was only a few thousand years old, it was a simple matter to trim out harmful code. They had learned a long time ago, that instead of attempting to completely eliminate recessive genes it was easier to simply trim things out with each person at the time of conception. Over the years the process had become pretty routine and rarely was there an issue with problems cropping up. But then the random extensive testing done to provide a check on the system rarely turned up something like the stray genes she had found. For her to find the same thing, even though the number of stray genes varied slightly, in so many people, was unheard of. The problem now, was figuring out just what they were. Those who actually were High Council members had the least, where the further out she got into those who were in their extended families, the higher the number of genes she found. It seemed to Crystal, that what ever the genes were, it looked like the families had slowly been getting rid of it, piece by piece. Much in the same way they did by trimming out harmful code for the reproduction genetics. With each generation, it was not uncommon to find bits and pieces that the person's code had hidden in another layer. Completely getting rid of a set of harmful code could take up to a thousand years, or rather three to four generations. Crystal just shook her head as she prepared tests on the genes she had found, it would take time to do an extensive test on each one. Especially since not one of them was in the genetics database. It was in a small way kind of exciting, it wasn't often that she got to work with a completely new gene. Their technology had developed far enough that finding a new one was pretty rare and unexpected. She finished the preparation and then started writing up a report for Stevens, even if she didn't have the answer yet, Crystal was positive he would want to know what she had found so far.

So our goal should be to post the article no later than the 24th of this month since that will give them an entire week to do the review. Just as it gives us two weeks to write up the article.
Works for me. :catgirl: But then you already know that like Rach I start school again on the 20th. Not that I mind since I like school. Still having the article nearly finished before that date would be ideal. Then I won't have to worry about it while I'm getting use to classes and studying again. XP Anyway, I already finished my part, so I'm going to work on a couple of other ideas based on what you found Rach, I think you'll like what I have in mind. :catgirl: I should get that finished tomorrow, but until then I sent you what I've done so far. Hurray for lists that are easy to find! ^_^ About the only thing wrong is you forgot to add Catherine Sanderson to the list Beth. Also if you could add that Teresa is a fairly decent cook that would work. Anyway, since the rest of you haven't posted in a while... I took the initiative and described the layout of the ship a bit more. XP I left the game's open so that people can people can have it do whatever they like. I looked through the thread, so I think I got things right, but if I contradicted someone else's description just let me know okay. And now... Lets get to that first mission! :catgirl:
-
Teresa didn't stick around on the bridge for long, once Bishop and Kendra got started on the course and then launched the ship, she became a sort of fifth wheel. Both of them tuned her out completely. Not that she minded, flying the ship was more important than idle talk. Once she had watched Bishop take the ship into space she turned and left the bridge, determined to check the layout. She started by heading back to her now shared quarters and putting all her things away. It didn't take long. Then she picked up the CCB Dr. Henderson had given her and pulled up a layout of the Argo Navis. The bottom floor was clearly where all the cargo was stored as well as where the access to the engines and the escape pods was. The middle floor housed the quarters and sickbay, with a slight rise leading to the actual bridge in the front. And the final level, the top, was clearly listed as a combination recreation room as well as the cafeteria area. There were other aspects that lead to what defenses they had as well as offensive capabilities, including an area nestled between the cargo and the engine room that was most likely where all the military gear was for suiting up for a mission. Teresa was sure that the Colonel would go over that aspect so she opted for checking out the top level. With her CCB in hand she left her quarters and took the port side stairs going up. She took the small hallway at the top which in turn immediately opened up into a very large open space. To the back of the ship was a place for working out, a small changing room in one corner and lockers that upon inspection were filled with the necessary equipment for light sparring as well as simple games. In the other corner there were controls for setting up a forcefield, giving one the option of playing a type of racket ball or for other popular games. Teresa couldn't help but smile at that, she was pretty good at a couple of the games listed in the program directory. I wonder if anyone else plays them? She turned her attention to what was at the other end of the top floor, near the front of the ship. In addition to a couple of tables that were nicely fastened to the floor along with chairs designed to attach tot he table when not in use, the facilities were top notch. It didn't take long for her to check out the small rooms behind the cooking area to see storage for not only fresh goods but the standard tasteless rations that the military often used. Teresa couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at the rations, she'd had to use them before and honestly, she'd just about rather go hungry. I wonder if our budget includes picking up supplies? Teresa was a fairly decent cook, it was sort of a hobby that she pursued when she had the time. She made a mental note to ask the Colonel about it later.

That has to suck. >_< I hope you feel better soon. When you get back, let me know if I got any of that wrong. I'm pretty sure I understood what you were getting at with your pm about what Vanyel was experiencing. :catgirl: Anyway, as you can see indifference suggested to me that Vanyel was thinking that by being seperated from their bodies and exposed to the energy field, the Esper's who were taken were confused by it, that they don't realize what's going on. So essentially once someone is found by putting a psychic shield around them they'll realize where they are or rather that it's not a dream, etc. If you don't like that idea DB we can always have it be something else. Also, even if they do realize it, they'll probably still need help to get back.
