2.
You say this like I'm somehow unaware. Give me something better to work with instead of a very very broad-angled rebuttal that does very little actual good.
I'm wondering why your using it. I know you're aware of it, that's not my point really. For example, the assistance that our state turned down, had to be used on specific things. They couldn't hand out bonuses to anyone, they couldn't shift it to be spent on something frivolous. Their answer to that was to refuse it and let people who needed it suffer. And it's no surprise that they are simply finding new things to tax instead. So bailout money can be handled efficiently, it's the politicians and business people who refuse to set the limits that would prevent it. Or they refuse to accept the limits or terms that come with accepting it in the first place. Though if that's what you meant by impossible, then I'd have to agree. Since it seems like the idea of being accountable, is something they refuse to do.
3.
I was opposed to the bailout not because it was bad in theory, but because it was impossible to keep uncorrupted in practice. And, well....
Basement Cat, that's true of just about anything these days. There's no such thing as no corruption. o_O I don't think it's a good enough reason to object to it. Though I do think it can be part of it, the biggest being those with the worst record, like the stupid Bank of America should have just been allowed to topple. But this is my opinion based on my limited understanding of how the entire damn thing works. =_= I'm still mad at my state for refusing aid that would have actually made a difference. Because unlike some of what I've read on this bailout, that money had to be spent certain ways, period. And they were mad and claiming Obama was being over controlling. They probably just wanted to waste it on crap like Bank of America did.
4.
Overkill much Des ?
Careful there Gavin, I'm sure Des has quite the stash of out of context pictures. =P So just how many Des? A hundred, a thousand?
5. I haven't watched either film, but as for the sentiments towards Obama... lol Anyone who thinks a President can instantly change things is kind of dumb. Something like that isn't so easily obtained since so many are against it, citing how it will ruin marriage and so forth if gays have equal rights. Pffffft. I think they just use that as an excuse so employers and the government don't have to pay for those rights. Why pay so someone can have insurance if you can find some dumb way to exclude them? Anyway, I see it as something that they're jumping on saying he's failed when he isn't even done yet. Sure he might do nothing else, but they don't know if that will be the case or not. It's too soon to tell.
6. I usually don't listen to anything. Sometimes I do listen to classical though. It's the only music I can put in that isn't too distracting when I'm doing homework or studying.
7.
Two words: Angel Sactuary
Why? Was the plot or story bad? Was the music poorly done? Was the voice acting grating? Was the animation really tacky or poorly done? What exactly about this show was bad? All you've done is tell us the name, which isn't much of anything really. =P
8. I'm thinking the same thing you are Nathan. And yes, I'm finally back. I didn't mean to be gone for so long. o_O Anyway, so... where do we go from here? I am caught up on all the posts, but I'm not quite sure what to do. *pokes Shy and everyone for the fun of it*
9. Even if you are right Allamorph, I at least hope for another chapter or two so they can neatly wrap things up. I really enjoyed getting to see the other two get together again so I'd like to see how the others lives are resolved.
10. I'll claim the next spot. =P Since I want to shake this up with something different. Hahahahahahaha! EDIT: I'm giving up my claim. o_O We had a death in the family this morning and I haven't even had a chance to work on my idea. So I'll just have to come back another time, sorry.
11. I take my own lunch, but sometimes I get food at school. It's not the best, but it's still fine. The place is pretty well run too.
12. :blulaugh: EDIT: o_O So apparently we can just post a single emote now.... O_o
13.
On a side note hearing Aaryanna curse made me go O_o
I know, I shouldn't do that. >_< I just find the whole thing extremely irritating. Like Darren just pointed out, some of the cities around here are willing to waste millions of dollars on things that are, in my opinion, frivolous. My mom is on disability, so there is NO money for college. I'll have to apply for government grants since we're considered below poverty level. So adding on arbitrary taxes because they're too lazy to cut back on wasteful spending... :animesigh They're targeting a group that either is like me, still too young to vote, or from out of state and still unable to vote. And they honestly think there is nothing wrong with it. That's the part I don't get at all, the idea that it's better to tax people who can't afford an unfair tax, when they can simply trim excess spending out of the budget. *headdesks*
14. I don't even know where to begin with this. The idea is that apparently, key word here, students just make use of a cities facilities and don't help pay for them. The full article can be found here: Tax college students? So they think it would be a bright idea to charge students a fee every semester to the tune of $150.00 Now I hope you'll pardon me will I call bull**** on their reasoning. Students pay rent and utilities to their landlord who *gasp* pay those fees and taxes for the services that they are complaining that the students are using for free. How are they not paying their share when they are paying rent? Purchasing food and paying taxes, or holding down a job where money is taken by the state from their paychecks? Or what about those of us who live here? Honestly, WTF? Why should students pay property taxes if they don't own any property? Why should they pay utility fees when most landlords include that as part of their rent? It's just the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. To claim that students don't carry their own weight is a gross understatement when they pay for their living expenses. I guess it just bugs the hell out of me since I'll be going to college in a year and a half. If they try to charge me a fee, when I LIVE HERE. I'm gonna be pissed. My mom already pays taxes on the home she owns and unless something changes, I'll be staying with her while I go to college. :animesigh
15.
Park workers fired after peeing in Old Faithful I have one response to this: :blulaugh: Well that and to regret that it didn't go off while the morons were doing it. =P
Oh wow. Hahahahaha! They're lucky getting fired is the worst of it. If the ground had given way, it could have landed them in hot water, literally. =P
16. Ah, the never ending... "It's your fault!" game. Sometimes I wonder about people, seriously. They have to know people aren't dumb enough to blindly believe it, but oh well.
17.
Oh ok, I've had conflicting stories about what the artifact actually is. I think different people had made different decisions about that.
I guess since it's been a few months since her post with this in it:
?The first artifact is a large crystal with a Xear inscription on it. You?ll need that in order to determine where the next one is located.[/B']?
People just forgot what the artifact is. o_O But yeah, it's definitely time to get things moving. Victoria Ann needs to get into more mischief! :catgirl:
18. Victoria Ann hadn?t meant to stay up half the night talking with Liana Prideux. But the night was pleasant and watching the stars on the balcony attached to her guest room, while talking about what things they both enjoyed, had been too much of a temptation to pass up. It wasn?t often that she didn?t have the watchful presence of her mother around to ensure she went to bed promptly. Now, as the maid came and was pulling back the curtains to let the sun in, all she wanted to do was curl back under the covers and sleep some more. I shouldn?t have stayed up so late. She could imagine her mother?s voice saying I told you so and she groaned inwardly at the thought. Victoria Ann sleepily acknowledged the maid as she sat up in her bed. She smiled at the woman who wished her a good morning before leaving the room. ?Owwww.? She muttered under her breath as she made for the wash room to get cleaned up. Why does my stomach hurt? She had expected to be sore from the crash, and she did feel that way, but she hadn?t expected her stomach to hurt that much. It didn?t take her long to find out why as she took a quick bath and got cleaned up before getting dressed for the day. It had to have happened during the crash. She was positive she would have remembered having a three inch wide bruise across her stomach, along with other bruises on her arms and legs. ?Mom?s gonna flip when she finds out.? She complained as she finished fixing her hair, tying it up in a bun on the back of her head while letting some of it hang down artfully. Normally she didn?t care, but they would be going to that fashion show after breakfast and if she went looking scruffy in any way, she?d never hear the end of it from her mom. Getting lectured was something she?d rather not endure, though Victoria Ann was sure she?d get one anyway. It wouldn't matter that the crash wasn't her fault. She took a moment to put on the gold earrings she had worn to the wedding, along with a matching pin fastened on her over jacket at the base of her throat. The dark under dress in turquoise was more than presentable for a fashion show. It was simple and wouldn?t distract from what they were there to see. Victoria fully expected to see the adults dressed in all sorts of ridiculous outfits. She had been with her mother to fashion shows in High Czenoble before. It had always seemed pretty stupid to her. You were there to see the new stuff, not what other attendees were wearing. Though it was kind of funny to see how silly they looked in their weird outfits. ?Maybe I?ll get lucky and they?ll be nice this time.? She said to herself as she exited her room to head for the terrace where breakfast would be served. It was possible after all, unlike some of the designers in High Czenoble, Edith was very well known. That and the wedding dress her mom had worn was really pretty. ?Good morning Victoria.? A cheerful voice greeted her. She turned to see Liana heading her way. She was, to her relief, neatly and nicely dressed like she was. Victoria wasn?t surprised that she was smart enough to not dress like an idiot. ?Good morning.? She replied with a smile. ?You ready for breakfast?? ?Yes. I don?t know where it is though.? Liana explained. ?That?s okay, I do.? Victoria waited for her join her and then turned and lead the way to where the terrace was located.
19. No, if you read what my mom said in her post, the first artifact is a crystal with a xear symbol on it. So the ship can't be the artifact. So my guess is either Rachmaninoff or P.J. McKrafty will be posting about retrieving it in their next post. o_O I need to post as well. I've just been really busy with homework and lately, it has left me with little spare time to do stuff. I do plan on posting this weekend though. EDIT: And I have posted. It's just a little bit to indicate that the girls are joining Gustave for breakfast. Either one of you can feel free to skip straight to the fashion show, or whatever you wish to post.
20.
This law wouldn't be necessary if, and this is a big if, people taught their kids to be rude only to people's faces. Duh.[/FONT']
Or how about teaching them to not be rude period? =P And yes I know some people are annoying as hell to deal with. It just seems pointless to be unnecessarily rude in the first place, which is what most online trolls are. In the end, like Darren said, we have anti harassment laws and the rest is covered by handy ignore functions. I certainly have no trouble ignoring someone when it's clear they're just trying to get a reaction from the safety offered behind a computer screen.
21. If it turns out to be n00b, I'll just laugh. It certainly won't hurt anything. Heh.
22. We have a storm front coming in and for whatever reason, it has set my allergies off. o_O I have an absoutely rotten headache right now. Ugh.
23. Hey there shadow2039, I'm going to shut this down because as you can see, the thread is nearly eight years old and the member who started it hasn't even logged into OtakuBoards in over six years. So it's always a good idea to simply start a new thread if it's that old. Threads on a specific show however can always be revived no matter how old they are. Anyway, if you want to discuss which anime shows are the longest vs shortest then by all means feel free to start a new thread on it. :catgirl: Thread Closed
24.
The kicker? Apparently, the same box of rocks was returned previously[/B'], to the same Wal-Mart! No word yet on how the box got back on the shelves.
Hahahaha, gotta love Wal-Mart. Oh how Gavin's minions fail so... *shot* At least they got their money back. Hehe.
25. And here the one that struck me as being the most memorable was Vicky's entry. o_O Couldn't say why though I just know that it was the one that made me think the most since the approach it took was different. Anyway, I'm going to vote for Vicky. Good luck you two! And yes I know I just tied things... don't look at me like that. >>
