1.
I was expecting some kind of man-trap to slam shut on Aaryanna as soon as she posted. This whole thread was basically an Aaryanna honey-trap! The only question that remains is what did CHW want with her ... and why didn't the trap spring...?
:bawl: How could you CHW? Hehe, that would have been kind of funny. And yet not. Anyway... so I'm on topic here...I'll share another picture... :catgirl: Oh and a story too. I discovered yesterday, while watching you tube videos that Aaryanna gets all riled up and starts barking like mad when she hears a video of a parrot talking. o_O I have no idea what she thinks she's hearing! lol
2. It's simple Premonition, AOL is evil. They think that by spelling it backwards we won't know, but it really stands for LOA... Lucifer's Online Abyss. Be careful, or else you will be yet another one if it's victims, for once you fall in, there is no return. :p
3. *points to user name and links in signature* I most definitely have pets. ^_^ And a ton of pictures to go along with that statement. Well of my dog that is. The cat hates the camera and it's hard to get that stinker to look when you're taking a picture! lol Anyway, as many of you already know my dog is a Bichon Frise named Aaryanna. If you're not familiar with the breed they are lap dogs. Very affectionate ones at that. They're also very playful and fairly smart. They remember where things are so if you leave the home and come back and someone has put a bag on the floor that wasn't there when you left they'll growl at it since they know it wasn't there when you left. Hehe, Aaryanna likes to watch me when I rearrange my room so she can take note of where things had been moved to. lol Anyway, one of these days I'm going to record some videos of her to put on on youtube. But until then I'll just post a few pictures since I have so many to choose from! :catgirl: Oh and just for fun I had postage stamps made with her picture on them. I'll never use them of course, I just thought it would be funny!
4. Man...some of these old school anime being mentioned were back when I was oh two years old? >_< Uh yeah old school for me is only stuff out in the last couple of years. Though I could say Sailor Moon since SunfallE loaned me all of her DVD's last year and I watched them. I could say Wedding Peach as well since I watched it last year too but it came out back in 95 I believe. I like both of them, though Wedding Peach was not butchered like Sailor Moon was. Though that's probably due to it only been released in the past couple of years. Oh and I'd say Ronin Warriors, but when SunfallE lent me her set I got sick of the English dub and watched the uncut Samurai Troopers instead. If you liked Ronin, you'll like the original version much better. At least I did. I also watched the Magic Knight Rayearth series. Parts of it I liked and parts I did not. Still I suppose it could be considered old school. lol Hmmm...so out of all that my favorite by far is Wedding Peach. :catgirl:
5.
The torture was actually my idea. ;) Though Rach agreed to be the one to write it up. And I'll say this much, those two are in for a rough time. At least until Kiva finds them that is.
o_O *slowly backs away from her mom* Hehe I kid. ^_~ Still...That Blaine just needs to die. >_< Damn if he isn't a meanie! Anyway...I too found the part with Jared surprising. Are you sure he's not sick indifference? :p It sounds like Blaine is stealing the show for being a mean bastard instead of Jared. lol Still it was fun to read. I felt bad for Darren though.

The first time Crystal had transported over to The Transcendence to treat Erica, she had been too dazed from the light stun she had received. Even if it was likely that they had used the lowest setting, her body just wasn't up to the shock. As a result Crystal had been pleased to see that the accommodation's had been switched to what she requested since it was going to take her a few days to recover from being stunned and the proper setting would help that recovery. In the end Crystal decided it was probably best since she was still too upset to talk to Erica. Perhaps in a few days she would feel more charitable. But right now she wasn't feeling that way at all. The next time, which had been earlier that morning, Crystal had made a point of going down to Erica's estate and picking up some clothing and blankets for her as well. It wasn't necessary, but it would be more comfortable than standard prison issue. And in the end she'd rather err on the side of caution. Erica had been more alert, but had said nothing and Crystal had chosen not to say anything either. Simply adjusting the dose based on the scans and then going back to the Tempest. She had been back for a while and was preparing to contact Stevens in regards to the data he had given her about the alterations. The problem Crystal was running into was that without a sample of altered vs unaltered she couldn't verify anything beyond what was recorded. Everything that had been recorded was technically accurate. But that didn't mean they really had been altered. She would need physical proof of someone who had been changed as well as someone who hadn't. And according to Erica's time line. The only ones who were not changed were the High Council and their immediate families. Crystal was in the side conference room just off the bridge when she finally sent a priority transmission to Stevens. She was not surprised that she ended up waiting nearly twenty minutes for him to get back to her. Crystal just kept reviewing the information in regards to the genetic alterations until he finally responded. "Ah Crystal, sorry to have kept you waiting. What can I do for you?" "I've been reviewing the data on the alterations Stevens, and as far as I can tell the data appears to be in order." "I see." "That's not all Stevens, the problem with that is I need to be able to actually verify that the change actually happened. Remember, this was over a thousand years ago, so for all intents and purposes, how people are now is considered normal. I hunted for references that would indicate otherwise, but either whoever did it removed the data, or it never happened at all." "I see," Stevens said, "So without current tests you can't verify the claims, is that what you are saying?" Crystal nodded, "It is, however, there is a solution. The report indicates that members of the High Council and their immediate families were not altered. All I would need is genetic samples from each Councilor to compare against samples taken from pretty much anyone else." Crystal paused for a moment, "I realize that it would violate privacy laws, but I need you to get those genetic samples for me. I could go with just you and Sandra and Erica, but it would be more conclusive and accurate if I had a much wider base of test samples." Stevens just smiled broadly, "Oh I can do better than that. All Council members as well as immediate families are required to provide genetic samples for a central storage facility. It's suppose to be for choosing who is betrothed to who as well as other reasons. But I would imagine that it's primary purpose is to make sure someone who is altered didn't slip through the cracks." Stevens started laughing, "Oh this is just too perfect! With the lock down of the Council Center I can simply grant you access to the facility and you can take as many samples as you want. I don't give a damn if those fools object. Mental alteration is punishable by execution and far too serious a crime for privacy to interfere." Stevens smiled. "Just give me some time to talk to the others and then I'll arrange for you to be admitted into the facility. It shouldn't take too long, I'll call you back once it's taken care of. Now is there anything else you need?" Crystal shook her head, "Not at the moment. Once I get those samples I'll start checking them. In the mean time I'll start gathering some from my crew." She paused and tilted her head to the side a bit as something occurred to her, "I guess that does mean I have something else I'd like you to do. If you could have each doctor on each ship stationed here get samples from volunteers that would be useful as well." "Consider it done, Stevens out." Crystal went back to the data to review it once more, until she got those samples, for the moment she was stuck. Then she opened up a channel to the ship's doctor Alex to talk to him about gathering genetic samples from the crew. At least from those who would be willing to volunteer that is. She was sure plenty of them would.
7. Man I hope you don't think we are picking on you Anomaly! >_< Since I don't like rap either. Blech! Though once you get it ready Rach I'll be glad to look at it to see what I think. Just don't ask me to actually listen to it if it's done from an existing song. And trust me, it's not from lack of trying, I have a couple of friends who try on a regular basis to introduce me to songs but I don't like them. :bawl: It's too bad you didn't get the challenge Anomaly since I think you would have enjoyed it. And correct if I'm wrong Rach, but I get the feeling that this challenge is frustrating you since you don't like the music. Perhaps it might be best if you steer away from actually listening to it. ^_~

It didn't take Crystal long to return to the Tempest, to change into uniform and to head for the bridge. With the announcement of Martial law all short leave to Reflection had been canceled, though fortunately everyone had already gotten a chance to visit. But it was a pity since due to how quiet things had been she had gotten the authorization for them to also get leave for the home world. But now that would not happen. When Crystal entered the bridge everyone turned to face her, confusion evident in their eyes. She paused in front of the Command spot to address them. "I don't need to tell any of you what the protocol for Martial law is do I?" They shook their heads. "Good, I realize that this is confusing, but until we hear otherwise it is our duty to maintain order. Stevens, Zach, Dakar and James will make sure that the truth of the matter is uncovered. We must help them with that task by keeping others from panicking." "Is it true then?" Her sub-commander asked, "That Erica is the leader of the resistance?" Crystal nodded sadly, "It is." She turned her attention back to everyone else. "Now more than ever I need each and every one of you to do your best. I will be helping with part of the investigation so I'll need you to continue doing what you did while I was working in the Council Center." At that moment the chime indicating she had a priority transmission sounded. "Patch that to the Conference room, I'll take it in there." "Understood Commander," Her sub-commander said, then he turned to the others, "You heard the Commander! We've got work to do!" Crystal went into the conference room and opened up the transmission, it was Stevens. "Crystal, I talked to Kiva and made the arrangements for you to transport over twice daily. Kiva has provided an access code for you to open a transport door should the need arise. In addition to that I'll be sending you the complete file with all the data that Erica had in her time line in regards to the modification. Let me know if you need anything to assist with the research." The chime of a message received sounded and Crystal downloaded it to her hand held computer. "Anything else Stevens?" "No, I wouldn't know what you would need for Erica's care anyway, just let Kiva know if you need anything done to her cell." Crystal nodded. "I will. If you intend to talk to her later, then that's going to be necessary. Standard accommodation's just won't do. I won't bore you with the details, but if you check how the furniture and such is set up in her estate you'll find that everything is built specifically for her body. In fact it might be easier to transport a few items up directly from her estate." Crystal shook her head. "Anyway, I'll get to work on it immediately, Crystal out." She closed down the transmission and accessed the medical records of what was needed. Patients that suffered from what Erica did were highly vulnerable to pressure sores caused by resting on firm surfaces. And since that made them open to getting infections as well, most doctors would recommend that their bed as well as a number of chairs be made specifically for the patient, to cut down on that complication. Crystal was sure there was probably a chair for lounging in Erica's estate, simply transporting it up would work best. Her bed would be too big though. Crystal could for now use a standard one for medical purposes. Kiva probably didn't have one on her ship after all normally there just wouldn't be a reason for someone who had the disease to even be on a messenger ship, but there would be a mattress in the stores on the Tempest. Crystal checked and sure enough there was. That would work while she had a smaller one made to match the one in Erica's estate. Then once she had the necessary information put together she wrote up the message, explaining to Kiva about switching out the mattress in the cell with the one from her ship and the necessity of obtaining one of the lounging chairs from her estate. As well as including some proper pillows for patients as well. Pointing out that simply taking the ones from Erica's estate would work the best. Until someone told her otherwise, she would, within reason, make sure that Erica was properly cared for. Her message complete, Crystal sent the message to The Transcendence. It wasn't time for Erica's treatment for a while so hopefully by the time she went over, Kiva or her crew Daego would have all of the changes taken care of. Then she opened up the data on the modifications and began to read it.
10. Wow, I can't believe I actually won. o_O When I saw Ezekiel's this morning I was sure I was screwed since I don't know how to draw and it was so stylishly done. It made me feel like mine was all messy. >_< And I especially got a kick out of the Crazy Man in the White Coat. I can just see White in that role. And BKstyles with his bazooka and scar running down his face was too cute. ^_^ Anyway, I'm glad we won though, even though Sandy says I was missing contestants. Which is true. I decided to only put two from each past team in the pit of spikes. I wanted it to have some level of balance since that would have resulted in four green, three blue and only two of the remaining colors. Though considering how many wacky colors I had going on I'm not sure if it would have mattered. Anyway, best of luck on your challenge Rach. I don't even listen to Rap music so I wouldn't even know where to begin. o_O Also I'm wondering if Sandy just means the lyrics or if you have to actually compose a melody as well.
11. All right! :catgirl: I finally finished and my pictures are ready! So without further ado I present my diorama! Explanations for the process will be provided. Also, since they are large pictures I will be presenting them in links to avoid stretching the layout of OB. Survivor One Survivor Two Survivor Three Now as you can see I have built an arena representing this very game where only one will survive. A true test of Survival and well suited to the theme requested. ^_~ Picture one is a grand shot. On the right is the Sunflowers and on the left is the Aces. Between them is a pit of spikes with two platforms where the current contestants are dueling. Those around them on the spikes are members of previous teams who have fallen. And yes those are real nails/spikes and the eggs are impaled on them. Ouch! Picture two and three are side shots so you can see the opposing teams a little better. Now to create this I took real eggs, poked holes in them and blowed the contents out. Two dozen to be precise. Then after letting them dry for a day or two I painted them using acrylic paints. Team colors and the team colors of the previous teams. While the paint dried I cut the box and made the bed of spikes as well as the bench for each teams and collected characters to be spectators of the event. On the right the grand prize is a Hummer. The event is hosted by OtakuBoards and each team has sponsors as well. Since I figured that like the real Survivor each team should have sponsors. :p The balcony is of course staff members, starting from the left we have James, Dagger, Charles, Panda, Des and finally Sandy standing on a little podium shouting DUEL!!! Though underneath that is a P.S. I'm the devil! Mwahahahahahaha! And yes Des is betting $50 for me to win. :p All of the little signs above them are bubbles representing what each person is saying. ^_^ My mom is saying Be careful sweetie! You Can do it! And SunfallE is countering all the other bets by saying Oh yeah? Well I bet $200 on Aaryanna! Since Des started it and White upped it by betting $100 on Zeke. So that's how that unfolded. And of course Zeke and I have toothpick swords for dueling! :catgirl: And there you have it! Gods that was fun to make! Hehehe! ^_^
12. Anomaly!!! *glomps* You're back! :catgirl: Mwahahahaha! Now that we are a full team again the Aces will never know what hit them! Hehehehe! ------------------------------ UPDATE: Just an update for you Sandy. I know you said to take my time and that there was no rush, but I thought you'd like to know that I'm putting the finishing touches on it and expect to have the pictures ready either tomorrow or Sunday.:catgirl:
13. o_O Well that was a surprise. I wasn't expecting the torture. >_< Someone needs to kill Blaine. I'm assuming that Kiva and Daego will accept the assignment, to find Daniel and Kerstin, not to kill Blaine. Though I'd love to seem them catch him. If not then Jared definitely needs to get him. But still...That was mean! o_O He certainly didn't waste any time in going after Daniel and picking on Kerstin. And yeah, you're not the only one Rachmaninoff. I'm hoping for a couple of High Council members to be fried. Hehe. :catgirl:
14.
As a terrorist, rude and unnecessary-ness do not matter to me
15.
XD anywho, Aryanna_mom, don't overstep your boundaries. I am most definetally not your son, nor would i like to be. i have my own mother who I love very dearly, and she would never lay a hand on me. So, buzz off, old woman :p
Watch it, don't go calling my mother names. *pulls out her mod rod* Show some respect or else! And believe me, I don't want you as a brother. :p
16.
Addiction? I think you mishot the heroine thread by a few feet XD. There's no such thing as a porn addiction unless you have some mental condition, and then it's not one i've ever heard of. But seriously, if you or your friend is afraid of your liking porn, you're just being a wuss...
Actually Nonentity, you're the one who has mishot the point here. Sexual addictions is a problem that is being recognized even as we speak: Sexual Addiction Any pastime that is done to the point that it interferes with work, family or one's regular life can be considered an addiction. Try researching before blindly assuming that one couldn't be addicted to something like porn. And another thing don't tell others they are a 'wuss' if they aren't interested in porn. It's rude and unnecessary.
17.
The Anti-Terrorist Unit is failing miserably at the moment; I don't think you guys are going to win this round.[/font']
Personally I think we need to cut back on what ever the hell is in OB's water. o_O Oh and I'd join the terrorist group, just so I could see what type of bounty Dagger would offer to do I'm Not Nomura in. Though perhaps I should just freelance and offer to do it just the same? :p Oh and if I didn't know about the game going on I'd have to say this:
All of you are nuts!

18. Drat! I was hoping Jared would be more upset! Hehe! Though considering what Alan did to him I'm not surprised. >_< Anyway, I take a day off and POW! I come back and all hell has broken lose! It was fun to read though. ^_^ And now I have Crystal's response up. I feel bad for Darren though, between the news about Erica and Kerstin being kidnapped, he's in for a rough day.

It hadn't taken Crystal long to finally come to a decision. Even if it was against protocol she would go and talk to the person directly. Her mind made up she turned back and headed towards the facility where the ground transports picked up and dropped people off at the beach. She had only gotten about halfway there when the chime for a top priority message sounded. Puzzled she reached into the pouch on her right hip and pulled out her hand held computer. To her surprise it was a request from Stevens to transport to the Conqueror immediately. Crystal immediately opened a channel to the Conqueror. "Commander Crystal," the officer on duty greeted her. "We've been expecting you. Stand by for a transport door. Stevens is expecting you in the bridge's observation room." A split second later a door opened at her location. Startling the tourists who were near her position. What could be so important that Stevens is breaking the regulations on where one can transport from on Reflection? "Understood," Crystal replied. "I'll be there shortly." she closed the transmission and stepped through the door. After a short nod to the technician in the transport room she immediately headed for the bridge, puzzled at the unbelievable level of activity. Everyone was essentially running in circles, issuing orders, moving as if they were in battle instead of a peaceful orbit around the home world. What in the world is going on? Crystal entered the lift heading for the bridge, most of the crew recognized her which was a good thing since she was not in uniform. She had been on short leave after all. But other than a few startled glances no one stopped her. Crystal waited at the doors to the observation room and entered once the doors opened. Immediately heading for a seat across from Stevens who was clearly quite busy. A moment later he looked up after she had taken a seat. "What's so important that you brought me here without giving me time to change into uniform?" "This is." Stevens turned on the display on her side with the information in regards to Erica Kendrick's arrest as well as what was in the time line of her involvement while leading the Resistance. So it's true. Crystal didn't even realize that she was crying until Stevens spoke up. "I'm sorry Crystal, I know you've always admired all the hard work Erica has done for the lesser races." Crystal just wiped the tears away and composed herself. "It's not just that Stevens, it also has to do with this." She pulled out her hand held computer and opened up the report on the genetic traces she had been working with. The ones from the attack in sector seven. She showed the results to Stevens. "I've known she was involved since I finished identifying the remains a short while ago." Crystal looked away. "But I didn't want to believe that Erica of all people would do something like that. She's always worked within the system to bring about change. I never thought she was the type to actually support the resistance let alone actually lead it!" Crystal stood up and walked over to look out the towards the view of the home world. "I tried to think of reasons as to how her genetic material could have been there, but I couldn't think of one. Besides the obvious one of actually handling the explosives. And to be honest, I was considering destroying that report and saying nothing. Erica is after all dying, so it seemed pointless to bring up charges that would result in her execution when the damn disease is causing more pain and damage than we ever could." Stevens got up and walked over to Crystal, reaching out and putting his right hand on her right shoulder, "I understand what you are saying Crystal, and on some level I even agree. But I still need your help with this. I need you to go through the data and verify if what Erica found about the modifications is accurate or not." Angry Crystal shrugged off Stevens hand as she turned to face him. "Dammit Stevens! It's bad enough that we were planning on modifying the lesser races, but our own people? Before I agree to do anything I want to know just what you intend to do about it if it's true! And what about the High Council? If you all intend to suppress this knowledge then you had better lock me up as well since I will not help you to hide this or lie about what I find!" "Whoa Crystal, slow down! I've already put an end to the attempts to suppress the knowledge. I want to find out what's going on as well. I've already talked with the commanders of the various forces and we all agree. They're moving to put the High Council under house arrest so that we can do a full investigation." Stevens frowned a bit. "Council member or not, if what Erica says is true, then those responsible will be held accountable for what they have done." He reached out and took Crystal by both arms, looking down at her. "In addition to verifying if the modification data is correct, if it is I want you to start looking into the possibility of reversing what was done. I promise, we won't bury this. I'll do my best to make sure of that." Stevens let go when Crystal finally nodded. "All right, I'll start checking the data. I do have one question for you though, who is keeping Erica? She requires treatments twice a day to keep her disease under control. If there are traitors among the High Council, they'll want to silence her. You'll need someone else to make sure she is cared for." Stevens smiled, "Funny you should mention that. Erica is on the Transcendence and ironically I agree. I was already planning on contacting Kiva to request that you transport there twice a day to see to Erica's needs. I know I can trust you to take care of her. Anyway, you head back to the Tempest and get started on the data, I'll contact you once I get the go ahead from Kiva." "All right." Crystal said. She went back over to pick up her hand held computer and with a slight bow to Stevens she left to head for the transport room. Still upset. Why? She thought to herself again. Why did you do it Erica?

It had been a couple of days since the ball, but Crystal couldn't get what Stevens had said out of her mind. She was still finding it hard to believe that he was actually for changing things so families of the lesser races weren't separated. Especially after he had been so ruthless at Earth. But if there was one thing she had learned, it was that Stevens didn't lie about such things. If he said it was going to happen, it would. Crystal was pleased to know about it since after Erica had fallen ill she had assumed that the proposal would die. Without her help Crystal was certain that many of the changes she requested would have been a lot harder to bring about. But now, she had a bigger dilemma, Crystal had finally isolated and identified the genetic material that had been found. And for once in her life she didn't know what to do. It was her duty to report what she found, but at the same time she felt it was information that was better left unknown. All of her findings were in her hand held computer and that was with her. Once she had finished she had taken the rest of the day off, following through on her short leave, visiting Reflection. Taking advantage of Stevens offer to use one of his guest rooms since he was rarely at his estate if ever. Why? She thought. Why did it have to be that person? What reason could they have had to even be there? It just didn't make sense. And as she wandered through the part of Reflection that was meant for tourists, casually checking things out as she visited the various shops, she couldn't find an answer. Hell! Crystal thought. I should just go and ask them directly. Even though it would be a breach of protocol. It certainly wouldn't be the first time she had ignored procedure. And since they weren't dead due to the explosion she could ask them. It just has to be a mistake. She thought miserably. Only to counter her own thoughts. Yeah, right, and someone just happened to place hair or some of their clothing on the explosives. She thought sarcastically. Crystal knew better. The only way the genetic material could have gotten there was if the person had actually handled the explosives directly. Or had they? After all someone could have tampered with the stuff that was brought to sector one in an attempt to discredit them. But for what purpose she couldn't fathom. Crystal was not involved in politics so she didn't know if they had any enemies willing to go to such lengths to pin the blame on them. Though she was sure they did. With yet another sigh she left the shops and got onto one of the ground transports heading for the beach. Maybe a walk along the shore would help her make a decision.
21. Well putting all that aside, I'm currently working on writing up a bit about interesting threads in the area I moderate, so I'll have that to you in a day or two Mom. ^_^ And once I finish my Survivor challenge I'll probably take a whack at the graphics as well.
22. Hehe, that's going to annoy Crystal, since even though she's for the research in sector fourteen, in her opinion it's not as invasive as what it seems the High Council has allowed to happen to the entire Versilan race. Well other than themselves that is. That's going to be fun to write up when she hears about it since reducing anger responses isn't the same as making people not care. At least that's what she'll think. Oh she's going to be quite put out about it. And speaking of the third research project, I find it amusing how my character works with the researchers so to speak and even I don't know what the third project is. Crystal knows more than I do! Crystal was starting to regret that she had agreed to go with Stevens to the ball. For one thing he seemed to enjoy the envious looks directed towards him as well as the admiring glances directed towards her. Crystal knew she was pretty, but it still irritated her that people would go by looks instead of personality or other traits that were in her opinion far more important. As a result she rarely went out or saw anyone. Since being considered in that light annoyed her to no end. And being required to wear something that only accentuated that response...heaven help the next fool who tried to peek down her dress during a dance. It wasn't quite as revealing as Sandra's dress but it wasn't far off. At least Stevens had not done so, but then she wondered if it was because he knew she'd clobber him if he did. Since the only real difference was her dress was white with gold trim. It was just as easy to see down it when dancing as Sandra's was. Making Crystal wonder about the idiot who designed them. She tried to stifle a sigh from her vantage point of being near the open doors leading to an outside balcony overlooking the ocean, but Stevens who was standing with her and watching the proceedings caught it just the same. "Bored already are you?" He teased her. Crystal refused to look at him, knowing perfectly well that he was teasing. "Stevens," She said in her most patronizing tone, "I was bored the moment I put this dress on." Stevens just chuckled. "In that case," He offered his right arm to her. "How about we head outside and get a little fresh air? After all I did promise to enlighten you in regards to both Jason and Celestia." She looked at him to see if he was serious and then took his arm when it seemed that he was, following his lead as he headed out onto the enormous balcony and then over to the side where no one else was around. Then he let go and faced the view before talking. "It's really quite simple Crystal, I'm sure you remember how much the Council fought your suggestions to provide better medical facilities and recreation days for the lesser races right?" He continued without bothering to wait for her to reply, his gaze still out on the ocean instead of on her. "Your argument if I remember correctly was that the poor living conditions as well as the continual stress was detrimental to their health. Something that was also affecting the Empire since so much is done by them. A fact that once the changes were made became evident as not only did the efficiency levels improve but the rate of serious behavioral problems decreased as well." Stevens paused but Crystal simply waited patiently, turning her own gaze to the ocean since even with the dim lighting outside it was rather pretty. "Ever since those changes were made you've been pushing to put an end to the separation of family units among the lesser races, pointing out that like the poor health issues, poor mental health is equally as detrimental. It's been harder to convince others of this since they consider them to be inferior and incapable of such mental issues. You and I know better, but still that perception exists." Crystal couldn't help herself, "Stevens," She said slightly irritated. "You were for separating families on Earth as a means to get them to tell you were the Resistance was hiding. So since when did you know better?" Stevens turned to face her a wry grin on his face, "That was merely a means to an end Crystal. Not a true indication of what I really think. The lesser races may lack our technology or our ability to live longer, but that doesn't mean that if left alone they would never develop to the same level we are at right now. When Erica became ill and no longer had the time or energy to assist with the proposal I took it up myself since I happen to agree with you on this. I think it's part of why the birth rates were so low, resulting in a serious labor shortage. We may have solved that by taking over Earth, but if we are foolish, we'll end up back in the same situation as last time, even with the research to extend their lifespan to match ours." "I see," Crystal replied, even though on some level she did not. As long as she had known Stevens he had never voiced any interest in what happened in regards to the care of the lesser races. But then he had always been good and hiding what he truly thought or what he was actually up to. "That still doesn't explain about Jason and Celestia though. I may have recommended that they be kept together, but they aren't family. " "True, and initially the order to keep them together was only suppose to be for the trip to the Council Center, once they arrived and were interrogated then a final decision was going to be made. But when they arrived and Dakar reported what little belongings they had I did some checking and found that those two by Earth customs consider themselves married, or as our people would say, their status tied to one another." Crystal just raised an eyebrow since that was news to her. "I had no idea." "Neither did I since nothing in the intelligence reports indicated it. Still I decided that even if the decision isn't final about not separating families, well at least not yet, there was no reason to separate those two, since they do work together rather well. Jared's not to happy about it, but unlike other fools, he's smart enough to understand the necessity of such a decision." "That still doesn't completely explain things." Crystal said. "It does when you consider that the proposal to stop separating families is going to become official in the next couple of years. There are still a few things to be ironed out, but for all intents and purposes, it's going to happen. We're just preparing for the inevitable fall out of those who will object to such a change." Stevens smiled as he offered her his arm again, "Now since I satisfied your curiosity, how about we return to the ball?"
25.
Of course that's okay. ;D You don't have to overdo it, though. Most dioramas are done with just a shoebox and some paper and coloring pencils. But your materials of choice certainly sound interesting. Take your time with it, there's no rush.
Oh I know I don't have to overdo it. It's just that summer vacation started for me this week so I have lots of time to do fun stuff! And I've got a really great idea on what to do! :catgirl: I'm really excited to do it since just thinking about it has me giggling over how it will look when I'm done. And it's not often that I get a fun project like this when I have the time to actually do it. Good lord this is going to be fun! Even if I don't win I think all of you are going to love it!
