I think they are HILARIOUS, and I semi-respect anyone who can use them. ;]
I have to admit that's far more interesting than the one's I've had thrown my way. And now that I think about it, the guys who have used really cheesy pickup lines on me have also been on the annoying side. I didn't like them before they used the silly lines.

Well all I have to say about pickup lines is that they guy in question would have to be pretty damn cute for me to overlook it. I?ve already had a couple of the cheesy ones about love at first site used on me and all it did was make me want to poke their eyes out. >_< I think the worst one was one guy who came up to me in the library when I was reading. It went like this? Guy: Tell me what your favorite type of book is. Me: I like fantasy, why do you ask? Guy: Because I want to be a fantasy book so you?ll put your hands all over me. (with a cheesy dramatic grin thrown in) Me: Grow up idiot. (takes her book and leaves him standing there.) That whole thing was just beyond stupid. Blech.

Welcome to OtakuBoards I do not exist Please work on your post quality and put more of a emphasis on discussion since here at OtakuBoards we try to have quality discussion in all of our forums. For example you could have take the time to explain why Chobits and Naruto are your favorite shows. Simply listing a couple of shows without explaing why they are your favorite is spam. A reason why most favorites threads are not allowed as they tend to be simple lists of shows instead of actual discussions. So due to the spammy nature of this thread I am going to close it. If you still are unclear on the rules and such look on the left hand side of the forum and read the Rules and FAQ. Also please take a look at the IMPORTANT how to post in the Anime lounge sticky at the top of this forum to see more ways on how to post in the anime lounge.
Anyway, as for the sex aspect, well to be honest, I do like some obvious sex in relationships, but at the same time I like stories where the love is shown in other ways. Sex is just too easy and in the end comes across as an obvious if not vulgar form of expression. And by vulgar I mean an indication of instead of taking the time to develop the relationship or to show the little gestures and interactions that lead to the characters falling in love, they simply skipped to them doing each other. Or did I misunderstand the nature of the question? Fan service (that is what it?s called right?) is fun and I do enjoy it, but not in the context of showing how people love each other. Unless they've taken the time to build the relationship first.
In other words you're a romantic? Is that it? :p The guy woes the girl by being a sweet lovable person and once they've fallen in love then the more intimate aspect is fun to watch? Because at that point its an expression of their love on a more deeper level than just the physical one? If that's what you are saying I agree. Not that sex isn't important, but if you don't have love or attachment, then the relationship ends up being pretty shallow. At least that's what I think. And that applies to all types of relationships, not just those that are straight in my opinion. ^_~

If you're a girl what do you want from you guy and vice versa?[/FONT']
I couldn?t really tell you what I want from a guy for the simple reason, everyone is different. Do you know any of her friends you could ask? Or how about her parents? They could at least tell you what she likes.

Name: Crystal Matheson Age: 83 Gender: Female Race: Versilan Loyalty: Versilan Empire Description: Crystal Weapons: Crystal commands a smaller battle ship but she is first and foremost a doctor and her training is very basic. She knows how to use the most simple of laser and disruptor weapons but nothing more. Special Skills: She is a doctor, specializing in genetics. Until six months ago she served as the ships doctor on commander Sandra?s ship. But after several humans she had modified were rescued by the resistance; she was promoted to commander and given the ship that Daniel use to command. Since then she has been visiting worlds that were taken over by the Empire to make sure that no other halflings like Celestia existed. So far she has found none. Personality: She is kind and considerate, and dedicated in the sense that being a doctor comes before worrying about other things. Though sometimes the orders she receives pains her, she always follows through. She's also very blunt and foward. Short Bio: Crystal pulled up the reports on the monitor in her quarters. So far out of the five worlds that had been conquered in the past two hundred years, her investigation had come up empty. Ever since the resistance had rescued the two humans she had modified, High Command had insisted on promoting her to commander in spite of her protests and sending her to make sure no other halflings like Celestia existed. If a mere halfling who was ran through the speed learning process was able to effectively disable two battleships, and the said person was also from one of the lesser races. Well even Crystal could see the implications. They had to know if she was simply a genius or if the combination of the races had anything to do with it. Hence her mission, if she found any others who were of two races, her orders were to bring them in to High Commands top research facility. Though she disagreed with them making her a commander for this task, what was she suppose to do once she finished checking the worlds? Even if they did make the position one of a medical nature why did they chose to give her a battle ship instead of one of the medical ships? Crystal put the finishing touches on her reports and sent them off to High Command. Only one place left to check and that was Earth. It hadn?t been taken over yet, but during the past thirty years operatives had worked there quite a bit to get the necessary information before the planned invasion. It was how Celestia had been born. She turned off the monitor and started getting ready for bed. In just a few weeks they would arrive at Earth.

If you got her the series at such a good price, then by all means stick to giving it to her. And if she says anything, based on what you just said, tell her you wanted her to know how much her friendship means to you. Then it becomes a present to the person you consider your best friend in the whole world and not just a simple friend gift. And greatest friends often end up dating, or so I?ve noticed among the adults I know. ^_~ I agree with what Rachmaninoff was saying about the poem, I?d definitely save it for Valentines day, because then it would fit perfectly with some flowers or chocolates and it wouldn?t be weird because that?s what Valentines is all about. ^_^ Also, if the plans to go out are genuinely being foiled by her family and aren?t an excuse, just keep trying, unless it?s happened far too many times. In which case she may be allowing the family to interfere. Some people are like that, even if they want to go out or do things, they let other stuff interfere all the time.

Ok that makes sense but the religion thing dosen't. If god doesn't want it to happen than he would stop it but he allows us to so what does that mean?(Both kittens and sheep have been successfully cloned.)
Sure it does, I?m not religious myself, but there are a lot of things that supposedly God does not approve of, like sex outside of marriage, but it happens all the time. If you believe in religion it?s called free will. You?re allowed to make choices whether they are good or not. And that includes things like killing others or attempting to make clones of them.
He's not a good teacher, ok? In fact if I knew he was the debate teacher I wouldn't have joined. If it helps the paper he gave us with the topics said: Should human cloning be banned? We're acually writing nine persuasiv e essays for this ****ing class. I'm way behind.
Actually he sounds like a fine teacher as it looks like he?s forcing you to think out of the box. You may not like his teaching methods, but the whole idea is to get you to dive into areas you normally wouldn?t even think about.
Anyway any supporting details for no? I need three. Most likley something easy to grasp.
I?m not even going to get into this as both my Mom and Allamorph covered it quite well. But I will add this, it?s obvious to me that on some level the teacher is trying to force you to think about a topic instead of just being neutral. Being neutral, isn?t bad, but it does leave you in the position of being lazy on the topic. You don?t have to have a stance since you aren?t for it or against it. You don?t have to believe in a stance in that respect, but writing to defend a point of view just helps you to move past that. You can still feel neutral, but when you are done you?ll understand the point you defended a little bit better and accomplished what the teacher said at the same time. You will have learned something. Which is really the whole point of education in the first place, to learn about something that normally you wouldn?t even bother to read about. Because if you did, then you wouldn?t need the education right?
I'm sorry, but without knowing the purpose of making these clones there's no way you can really choose a side. If these clones were made to replace loved ones or something like that, then maybe it'd be ok. If they were going to be grown for organ transplants and the sort, then it most likely wouldn't be ok. If i were you i would tell your teacher just that. And also, tell him he's a moron if he still says that you have to choose a side without that information.
You missed the whole point of the assignment. lostvoice is suppose to actually research it and come up with his own points, otherwise he?s simply defending what the teacher thinks is a possible point or reason for or against cloning. And that?s hardly going to teach lostvoice to go out and seek their own answers. The teacher is there to guide you not light every step of the process for you. The students are suppose to actually look into the subject and then take what they have learned and use that to either defend making clones or defend the position of being against it. Considering how easy it is to find information online these days, it?s not that hard to do an assignment like this. Time consuming perhaps, but then isn't all homework like that?

The thing is, I feel like one of society's rules is that guys are supposed to ask girls out, and girls aren't really supposed to ask guys out. Why do you think that is? And, what's you're whole opinion on girls asking guys out? I'm interested in hearing answers from the guys, as well as the girls.
Well I certainly have to agree with you based on how I was raised and taught from a religious sense. I was always given the impression from other church members and in classes in church that I was suppose to prepare for being married and raising kids and that it was the guys duty to do the rest. I don't really agree with it and I no longer attend church. But still, most of the girls I know who are my age or a little older get too freaked about the idea of asking a guy out as if it's not proper or something. I've never given any thought to asking a guy out myself for the simple reason I still find most guys my age immature and irritating. I know they all aren't like that, but honestly most of the time they only seem to be interested in trying to either get a peek in my shirt or to get in my pants so to speak. >_< Anyway, in the end I think it doesn't really matter who does the asking. I would have to say it depends on how you yourself feel about it. I've always been pretty forward with how I feel about stuff so I would imagine that if I do meet someone and find myself attracted to them, I probably would ask them out. But until that actually happens, I don't know for sure what I would do.

It should obviously be a cat.

So far, despite there being a lot of good candidates, none of the banners have struck me to be one that I'd definitely[/I'] want to see on top of the site. Perhaps it really is the lack of cats in them... :/
Well since there seems to be desire to see a cat in here. I?ve made version two of the one where I edited Aaryanna into the picture to include our cat as well. I only had a devil outfit for him though. He hates to be dressed up so I never bothered to get a Christmas one. Especially since unlike my dog, he bites you when you try to dress him up. :p

I love this chapter. Even though Jared's such a meanie, I love how you have both Jason and Celestia starting to realize how much they care for eachother. :catgirl: As for the previous post. I agree with indifference, it's much better now that you seperated it into different chapters. That slight pause to read that it's another chapter is just enough to make the switch more natural instead of reading and then realizing that the author is off on another tangent.

Hi, poeple. In this thread I'd like to discuss inanimateobjects and what they signify to you.
Ignoring all the comments in regards to whether or not something is truly inanimate I would have to say that the object that comes to mind for me is blankets. I love soft quilted blankets when I sleep at night, and when I curl up to read a book, watch a movie or play a video game, I love soft fuzzy blankets. I?m always driving my mom nuts since every time I see a new fuzzy or comfy blanket I want to get it. I don?t of course otherwise my room would be filled with nothing but blankets. The other object I think about is a book. I adore books and I?ve spend countless hours reading, going to the library to get more and then repeating the cycle. So I guess if I had my way my room would be full of both blankets and lots and lots of books. ^_^

If OtakuBoards were real, it would come across as a type of city where the living quarters are along the outside rim and special light rail systems run throughout the whole city. There are also futuristic transporters for those who would rather arrive at their destination instantly. In the center would be a grand complex where those who run the place reside along with those who help maintain order. Then there would be various sections of the city devoted to what ever you were interested in, to games, stories, get together events, anime and amusement parks much in the same way you would be part of an rpg. And scattered among all of this would be restaurants with nearly every food you could imagine available.

Well I?m not sure how I managed to make it creepy with the edited in one since that wasn?t my intent. o_O Thanks for the great comments on them though. I appreciate it! :catgirl: As for you White and this comment here:
If that dog makes its way to the top of the forum, I will disappear from the face of OtakuBoards for whatever amount of time it is there. It should obviously be a cat.
I have just one thing to say... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A26tdR1mlq0 :p Only the first twenty seconds is relevant though since I don't know how to edit videos and even if I did, I don't have any software for doing so.

Well here's the picture I was talking about. ^_^ The first one is just a clip of her in her outfit in front of the Christmas tree. The second one is with her edited into my original banner like Charles suggested. I did it so you could see the whole outfit since you can't in the first one. ^_~ And there you have it! Hehe! That was fun! :catgirl:

Well the actual RPG won?t go up for about another week. So it will be resolved, or rather to the point where the RPG will start. I?ve already got the sign up sheet and information ready. Now all I?m doing is fine-tuning the plot twists I have in mind. Once I finish that and post a few more relevant chapters, the fun will begin. ^_~
I was wondering about that myself. Would we be starting before or after the last chapter you wrote? But in the end I guess it doesn?t matter. Either way I know I?m looking forward to it. ^_^ I?ve been enjoying re-reading this as you post it since the improvement on the format has made it easier to follow and the stuff you?ve added along with the re-writes suggested have made it much more fun. I even caught things I missed the first time. Which is part of what makes reading a story you like a second time. Catching those little tidbits you missed the first time. ^_^ Oh and by the way... Jared still needs to die. :p

If you edit it to put your dog in you'll have my vote!
I?m going to add reading people?s minds to your list of superpowers! I actually have a cute little Christmas outfit that I got the other day and both SunfallE (as she baths and grooms her) and Mariskah (since she has a nice digital camera for taking the pictures) are going to help me get her cleaned up and ready for pictures in front of the Christmas tree! That's actually what I'm going to be doing tomorrow. The pictures are mainly for Christmas cards, but I had been planning on taking one of them and making a banner for OB just for fun. And now that you've mentioned it I'll have to edit the original submission and put one in of it too! ^_^
-
Tomorrow ?Hey Mom?? ?The answer is no!? ?But I haven?t even asked you yet!? ?True,? she replied, ?But I already told you to wait until tomorrow!? ?But tomorrow never comes!? She complained. ?You know,? the mother, said with a smile in her voice, ?you?re right.? But I really wanted a dog, the girl thought to herself.

Yay! The Christmas banner contest! ^_^ I decided to go with a completely different approach this time.

If it were made a bit more clear that Clurr is referencing a spin-off, that'd be cool.
It's definitely a spin off as it?s a completely separate forum, and I kind of feel bad because I kept meaning to go and join the fun and I just never got around to it. Ohio Mother Accused of Microwaving her Baby to Death
Aaryanna replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Well the whole idea of actually doing something like that to another human being is just sick. >_< However, since they still haven?t decided if she is actually guilty or not then I?ll withhold any judgment on my part. At least for now because if she is guilty, to microwave your own kid to death, even that would make me a supporter of the death penalty. That?s beyond sick and cruel. -

Aaryanna: The Daily Otaku actually shared a name with series of threads that Stardust had created in 2001. -Shy
I had no idea! ^_^ Hehe! But then that?s what makes this project so much fun! I just wish I was at good at writing articles as everyone else is. Reading is far more fun than writing! :animesigh -
I think it?s a great idea, especially if you take in account what James, DeadSeraphim and John were saying. I know that when the ?do you want to be an Event Master? idea went up, the biggest turn off to me was that although I could see possible creating and running one or two events, I couldn?t think of anything beyond an idea or two. So in the end I didn?t apply, as it just seemed like something that would frustrate me instead of being fun. By opening it up to give members a chance to be a part of it I think that it would greatly improve the variety of events being held here at OtakuBoards. And at the same time help who ever is the current Event Master as I imagine it?s a lot of work to come up with an idea, prepare it and then run it.

We definitely need an entry on The DailyOtaku! So here?s my attempt! ^_^ OtakuBoards: The DailyOtaku [PG] was one of the more successful OtauBoards fan fictions written by the infamous Desbreko. What made it so unique was that it written from the standpoint of actually being a real newspaper reporting on unexpected events happening at OtakuBoards. As it so aptly put it: It?s what you don?t need to know. Not only was it wonderfully funny, but it was highly received among the community and to be included in one of the articles was regarded as a treat among the members. The success of this work even went on to eventually inspire one of the members to created a fanclub for Desbreko:
I think I'm going to start a
We Love Desbreko Fan Club! :2women: ^_~ [/spoiler']
Both The DailyOtaku and the Desbreko FanClub remain unfinished to this day. No way I?m going to miss the chance to make a banner for this one! I can't imagine it being any of the other characters. If it is... Damn you for making the
villian
so damn hot! :p
