1. The first thing Bethany noticed when she walked further into the Ballroom was it?s sheer massive size. And the level of luxury was to be honest a bit intimidating. It certainly explained the expensive dress and jewelry they had provided for her to use for the ball, anything less would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Even the music being provided was being played by a live orchestra though they were using some form of technology to make the music sound as if it was coming from everywhere. The waiters and waitresses waiting on everyone, the people out dancing in the middle of the floor, the few standing alone and the others chatting with one another, all of it just made her feel more isolated. She knew it was just her, but everything made her feel completely out of place. At least no one seemed to notice that she was a bit late. For a moment she was overwhelmed by a flood of what seemed to be others emotions and tantalizing aromas drifting her way from the huge buffet that was laid out along one of the walls. She smelled fear, despair, hopelessness and panic all mixed in with spices, breads and different meats. Her sinuses burned and for one moment she thought she was going to be sick. Then just as suddenly it was gone. What the hell just happened? She wondered. Bethany headed over to the buffet. What ever she thought had just happened, must have been a side effect of the coma. After all, how could she have possible though she was smelling emotions? The whole idea was absurd. As she approached the buffet table she noticed that there were plates with a variety of finger food already prepared for guests so she choose one and then looked for something to drink as there didn?t seem to be anything at the table. ?Excuse me,? she said to one of the waiters. ?Could you get me some water please?? Bethany tried some of the finger food while she waited for the waiter to come back. The food like everything else was superb. She finished off the food and took a drink of water once the waiter had returned and then gave him both her plate and glass once she was finished. Although it was nice to be waited on, it made her uncomfortable. Looking around again, Bethany saw that the others were still doing pretty much the same as when she entered. Though the people who were dancing had changed and who they were chatting with was different as well. A few of the people she couldn?t see their faces. She sighed. Considering how few people there were it was unlikely that either Darren or that her mother was among those who had survived. One of the other women was sitting at a small round table by herself, she looked as despondent as Bethany herself was feeling. Bethany steeled herself and walked over, she had to start somewhere. And taking to one of the men, well other than the priest, just didn?t appeal to her. Not that she didn?t like guys, but she got tired of being pestered by them for dates especially since it seemed that a lot of them just didn?t know how to take no for an answer. She may have been in a coma, but on some level she doubted that had changed. Though I wonder if I?m being unfair she thought. After all she had never traveled and other states and countries didn?t have a dominant religion in the area that raised their men to believe that getting married was more important than anything else. Bethany stuck out her hand and said, ?Hi, I?m Bethany. I take it that you were in a coma too?? Hesitantly the woman shook Bethany?s hand before responding. ?Yes, I was. I?m Dawn,? she replied. For the next couple of minutes they talked about where they were from and what they had been doing before the coma. If it hadn?t been for the circumstances Bethany would have enjoyed talking with her a lot more. It was the first time she had meet someone from the United Kingdom. Bethany was about to sit down at the table when a voice behind her spoke her name. Surprised that anyone knew her name she turned around to see Darren standing there. For a long moment they just stared at each other, not trusting what they saw. ?Darren?? she whispered in disbelief. His answering smile was all it took. It was Darren! He was alive! With a shriek of joy Bethany practically leaped into his arms and hugged him tightly. Tears were running down her cheeks, and she was sure that others were watching but she didn?t care. After several minutes Bethany finally let go of Darren and then grabbed his hand and dragged him over to the table where Dawn was still sitting. ?This is my brother Darren,? she said to Dawn. Introducing them. ?Pleased to meet you. I?m Dawn.? She replied.
 2.
something that has been increasingly bothering me recently is the use of proper english, say Mr., Ms., and that such, in situations that dont even apply in real life. take DNAngel, for example. the 'Ms. Harada' said over and over is really overkill. So, i have a question for everyone: should the companies that copyright the shows start dubbing shows and keeping the honorifics (san, chan, kun, bozu, ect...) and put explinations for them somewhere on the packaging or in the DvD (extras, subtitles, other place?), or leave it how it has been since we started the whole dubbing business? Feedback appriciated :)
I?d be interested to know if it?s really overkill, or if society has slipped into a less formal form of speaking. It may not be the thing to call others Ms if they are your same age, but it?s certainly how you talk when someone is an adult, especially if you don?t know them. It?s considered polite to do so. Which brings me to my next question. Why is the honorific less annoying than say the English version? Even if the language is different it?s essentially the same thing. I can?t speak for all anime shows but I watched El Hazard: The Wanderers recently and honorifics like chan were used in the show. Although I understood what it meant it was on some level annoying since chan is not what people use when speaking to one another, at least in English. Now before you think I?m against using honorifics I don?t mind if they do, but since most disks come with the series in Japanese with subtitles where they do include the honorifics I just don?t think we need them in both. It seems to flow more naturally to see the honorifics when I watch it with subtitles anyway so adding them on in English seems like overkill to me. On the other hand, if they wanted to have three soundtracks where one is the English with the honorifics intact, well DVD technology is certainly progressing well enough to where that would be possible. 3. Medical Malpractice: Improper or negligent treatment of a patient, as by a physician, resulting in injury, damage, or loss. I?ve heard of it, knew what it meant, but until recently I had never experienced it. Or in this case had to deal with it as it is my dog who was hurt by a negligent vet. You see my dog had really bad breath. Something I?ve been telling the vet for the last year and a half since what I?ve read about pets is that bad breath is an indication that they are sick or they need to have their teeth cleaned. Every single time the vet told me she wasn?t sick and that her teeth were fine. Three months ago she went in for her yearly check up, she got her shots and when the vet did the exam I asked him again if she needed her teeth clean or if she was sick since the bad breath had not gotten any better. He gave me a little starter kit for brushing her teeth and again said she was fine. Now if you are wondering why I kept asking the vet if she was okay, well, most dogs don?t have breath that smells like sewage. Honestly! They do have dog breath, but when it becomes worse than what it use to be then it?s an indication that there is a problem. Well a short while ago I did what the vet told me to and went to brush her teeth again as I?ve been brushing them a couple times a week like he told me. When I did one of her front teeth nearly broke off! I was sitting there thinking what the?? I called but the vets didn?t have an opening until Friday so I called to take her elsewhere. I found out that the vet who has been telling me she was okay lied! The bad breath was being caused by tarter under the gums damaging her teeth! Something that if the vet had checked he would have caught! I?ve been so frustrated since I found out since I think the vet was ignoring my concerns and didn?t really check her teeth like they are suppose to. I kept telling him I thought something was wrong and he kept telling me she was okay. >_< Part of what has me so frustrated is if he had just looked three months ago and if they had cleaned her teeth she would have been just fine. She doesn?t have gum disease and once you have tarter under your gums, brushing won?t help; you have to get the teeth cleaned. How hard would it have been for him to address my concerns by carefully checking her teeth? I think he ignored my concerns since I?m not a vet and he assumed I knew nothing. >_< So now my dog has lost five teeth, she was worked on a few days ago, and it was completely unnecessary. I?m not looking for advise with this thread since I?m already going to lodge a complaint with the Utah Veterinary Board and if appropriate I?m suing the vet as well. What I?m curious about is if anyone else here has had similar problems whether it was with a pet or with your own doctor or someone you know. And if you have, I?d like to hear what happened since I?m sure I?m not the only one who has encountered this problem.
 4. Although I like ninja?s, I?ve always loved pirates. ^_^ I?ve always thought it would be interesting to sail across the sea in one of those older styled ships. Not very comfortable maybe, but defiantly fun, and then there?s the searching for treasure, nifty outfits and swordfights. Overall I just think it would be more fun to be out in the open instead of hiding in the shadows even if it ninja?s have cool equipment and moves. And then there?s the fact that words like Galleon and Swashbuckling just sound really cool. ^_^
 5. Hehe, those are awesome. ^_~ Simple and yet all the more funny because of their simplicity. ^_^ I think by far my favorite out of all that you have done is the ?Barkin? Up The Wrong Tree? (those poor doggies!) and ?Love still Hurts? I mean the idea that tripping is the cause of people falling in love is just too funny. That one really cracked me up. ^_^
 6.
Right, let's see... James Joyce > Jew > List of Jews > List of Jewish Actors and Actresses > Marx brothers > Groucho Marx It was a rather roundabout way of doing it, but it seems to work ^_^; EDIT: How is Vanilla connected to The ultimate fate of the Universe?
Drat! And I just found it by going this route: James Joyce > English language > Cinema > comedy film > Marx Brothers > Groucho I guess I wasn't quick enough.
 7. It had taken her a couple of minutes to figure out how the dress was suppose to be worn, but once she did, Bethany found she liked how it looked. With the single shoulder strap on her right side, the form fitting dress until about her knees where it then gradually flared out and the strange cape/sash? That started at the top of her right shoulder and ended where it fastened to her left wrist. Well, it made her look far more grown up and elegant than her usual girlish look due to her short stature and slim figure. The hair clasp which she had used to pull part of her hair back with, looked equally as elegant with the small cluster of what appeared to be pearls nested in silver trim. There had even been matching pearl earrings to go with the hair clasp. ?If these pearls are real,? She muttered to herself. ?Then this whole outfit probably costs more than what I?ve spent on the last two years of college!? She turned from the mirror and reached to touch the small white panel only to realize with a guilty start that it was already ten minutes after eight. Bethany winced. I hope no one?s upset that I?m late. She thought as she pressed the panel. ?Please be advised that you are late for the ball being held by The Supreme Chancellor. Please exit the room and follow the corridor to the right to reach the ball room.? The voice continued in several different languages. Bethany winced when she heard the statement advising her that she was late. ?I hope they aren?t too cross with me.? She said to herself as she left the room and started walking down the corridor. ?It?s not everyday you wake up from a coma only to be expected to attend some stupid ball.? She continued down the hall muttering to herself until she came to a set of huge hardwood doors that were open. Bethany stopped just before entering the room to take a look. There were people dancing to a waltz, others checking out a huge buffet and waiters and waitress seemed to be everywhere hovering around the guests anticipating their every need. She couldn?t see everyone?s faces but for those that she could, none of them looked familiar. So it?s true. She thought with despair, I?ve been in a coma for God knows how long, I really am in France and Darren and Mom really are dead. In an instant she was crushed with overwhelming grief and would have turned and fled back to her room but a waiter saw her standing there and came over. ?Can I get you anything?? He asked her with a small bow. Bethany choked back her grief and answered, ?Ah, no I?m fine thank you.? ?If you need anything don?t hesitate to ask.? He said with a friendly smile before wandering off to attend to other guests. Gathering her resolve Bethany walked further into the ball room, she wouldn?t learn anything if she ran back to her room. If this was a ball to welcome them, surely the Supreme Chancellor would be making an appearance, even if only to give them a welcome speech. Perhaps she would get some answers then.
 8. Come on, you know you want one, everyone's doing it! Except you.
 9. There are a lot of people I would like to meet. ^_^ Panda: Because she?s my online Mom. ^_~ From the very beginning she?s always been there to help me with questions and she?s also one of the nicest and sweetest person I?ve met online. indifference: Because she?s one of the few Utahan?s I know who likes anime. Although we don?t get to chat very often, she?s always stopping by myOtaku site to say hello and I?d love to get to know her better. She?s also probably the closest member to where I live other than SunfallE and Mariskah. Now I just need my own car. ^_~ James/Desbreko: I mean who wouldn?t want to meet Desbreko? After reading theDailyOtaku you just want to meet the genius behind that thread. And James, cute, sexy accent, need I say more? Retribution: I love how dedicated to art this guy is. Not only has he made some amazing stuff, but his attitude and encouragement towards new artists is inspiring. ^_^ Gavin: He?s probably one of the politest and nicest people on the whole boards. I like reading his posts cause he always takes the time to respond and I love his catch phrase interesting, most interesting. Charles: Well admittedly his pictures kind of scare me. ^_~ But in spite of people giving him a hard time I?ve noticed that he always helps people who are new and he just seems like he?d be a fun person to get to know. r2vq: Because he?s also very nice and friendly. I?ve really enjoyed working with him in the Anime Lounge and I?d love the chance to meet him in real life too. I think he?d be a lot of fun to chat with on all sorts of topics. There are others as well and I can?t say I?d like to meet SunfallE and Mariskah since I already see them several times a week. ^_~ But if I think of more I?ll be sure to add them.
 10. Welcome to OtakuBoards sakura&sauske4E Although the Anime Lounge is the right place for a discussion like this, I will be closing this thread for several reasons. First of all which couple? threads like this are rarely allowed since like your opening post they often end up being nothing more than simple statements of which couple they think would be best with very little in the way of an explanation of why you picked them. It leaves little room for discussion beyond saying which one you prefer. The other reason is expected post quality. Not only does post quality involve the concept of having clear, easy to read posts, along with correct use of spelling, grammar and punctuation, but it involves just how much a poster?s reply contributes, and expands to any given discussion. This is something that is greatly valued here at OtakuBoards, and we encourage members to exceed with their writing skills. Something your opening post does not do. For example you didn?t take the time to explain which character you thought they should be with and why. You could have even listed the pro and cons for each guy to show why you chose the one you did. Please take a moment to review the Rules and FAQ that is locate on the left sidebar and also read through the IMPORTANT: How to Post in Anime Lounge sticky located at the top of the Anime Lounge. You can also use the links I just provided. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. Also Doublehex, if you find a thread or member that requires being dealt with by a moderator, and no moderator is currently available, do not take the liberty of dealing with the problem yourself. If you happen to come across this scenario the please use the ?Report bad post? button at the top right hand corner of a post, or you can PM a moderator and alert them of the problem, and when a moderator is available, they will take care of it. Thanks for looking out for us, though! ~Aaryanna Thread Closed
 11. Ezekiel: Your piece definitely matches the saying on it. The glaring colors, funky lines and textures just make his expression all that more enjoyable. And the border is a combination of the outer dashes look nice to the inner red looks kind of weird. What really cracks me up is the subtle text underneath on the right side and of course the little dedication in the lower right hand corner. It was fun realizing what you had put there. ^_^ The only thing I don?t like is that the character looks a little distorted on my screen, not by much though. sakurasuka: Your piece is stunning in how it goes together so well. I love the colors and the circles and borders look great. The little smiley face is fun and I like how you have a little heart in one of the circles. I also like your choice for the person as she seems to fit in quite nicely with all the effects you have done. The only thing I don?t like is the placement of the actual saying. It just seems kind of out of place. In the end I vote for Ezekiel.
 12. The power doesn?t really go off very often around here. Most of the time it?s been at night, though admittedly when it does it?s rather annoying. I run a fan at night because otherwise my overeager dog who in spite of being rather tiny, thinks she is a watchdog and barks like mad at everything. o_O Which is why I run a fan, when it?s running she can?t hear outside noises as easily and so it keeps her from deciding to bark at one of our neighbor?s who gets home around one am from work. If it?s during the day I just read a book or take my dog on another walk. Sometimes, if it?s because of a thunder storm, then my mom and I will get in the car and she drives about a mile to an overlook and we sit in the car and watch the storm. And since my dog is spoiled, she gets to go with us. ^_^
 13. Although I have seen both Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, I actually like Howl?s Moving Castle the best. Princess Mononoke was beautifully done and I enjoyed watching it, but it didn?t really draw me in and I have no desire to ever watch it again. Spirited away was also beautifully done and I loved how the storyline was so bizarre and different. And those cute little soot creatures are just so adorable. ^_^ The thing I love most about Howl?s Moving Castle is the crazy castle itself. I get such a kick out of seeing it in action. Sophie?s interaction with Howl is also fun to watch as though she?s younger she seems to be more
mature
than Howl is. I just thought it was so funny how she took over and
cleaned the castle as if Howl?s messiness was that of a little child who had been naughty by letting things get so dirty.

 14. Bethany was just staring at the ceiling while she woke up. Something she often did until the haze of sleep receded. And then she stared at it even more; this was not the ceiling from her bedroom! Alarmed she sat up quickly and looked around. Rich velvet drapes covered the single window and the bed and furnishing were all of a much more expensive and refined taste than she was use to. She had never really studied art but it looked like some expensive renaissance styled hotel or bedroom in a mansion. How did I get here? She thought. The last thing she could remember was watching a TV program before going to bed. Bethany went over to the curtains and opened them to take a look. ?What the hell?? she muttered to herself. Wherever she was, it wasn?t Salt Lake City, Utah! Nothing out there even closely resembled how the city looked at night. A tall tower caught her eye and with a start she realized that it was the Eiffel Tower! I?m in France? She thought. How in the world did I get to France! At that precise moment someone knocked at the door to her room. Startled, Bethany turned around and backed up against the window, her heart in her throat. Once again someone knocked at the door, but Bethany was too flustered to move. The door opened and an elderly woman dressed in gray came in. At first she seemed irritated but then her expression softened when she saw Bethany?s panicked look. ?I?m sorry child, I didn?t mean to frighten you,? she said with a soft smile. ?My name is Anne and I?m here to help you get ready for a ball tonight being held by The Supreme Chancellor to welcome you.? Anne picked up a letter that was sitting on a small desk next to the bed and handed it to Bethany. ?Here this will explain things, at least initially.? Bethany opened the letter and read it while the elderly woman went over to a closet and opened it. She was so absorbed in reading the letter that she didn?t notice that the woman had laid out several dresses on the bed for Bethany to choose from. She finished the letter and looked up just as the woman was finishing. Although the letter had been informative, it left her with even more questions, like her family. Was she the only one who had survived? She started to ask Anne but she shook her head. ?I know what you want to ask me but I really don?t have any answers for you. I?m sorry if I seem abrupt but there are others I need to help. You only have about forty-five minutes to get ready for the ball. Once you have gotten dressed just touch this panel here.? Anne pointed to a small white panel. ?It will tell you what to do next.? Anne turned to leave, stopped and turned back, ?I almost forgot, if you wish to do something about your hair, you?ll find what you need in the other room.? With that she turned again and left. Once the door was shut Bethany walked over to the bed and sat down. She did her best to fight the tears but a few still escaped. She looked at the dresses the woman had laid out. All of them were beautiful and further examination showed that each one of them was exactly her size. I?ve just woken up from a coma, I don?t even know if my family is alive and some idiot wants me to attend a ball? She thought. Bethany picked up the dresses intending to toss them on the floor but stopped. Maybe I?ll get some answers there. She thought. Taking the green dress with her she went into the other room the woman mentioned to change. True to what Anne had said there were all sorts of clasps and assorted combs in a basket for her to use in her hair. Bethany hurried to get ready, Anne had said there were others she had to help, perhaps one of them was her family.
 15.
I don't know if it's a cultural thing or what, but it seems that many members (and mods alike) in here have a hard time taking in negative feedback about this boards. As the first two posters said, this thread is not meant as the personal attack against all moderators as some people have interpreted it. I don't agree with many things they said, though - I see Aaryanna and Ozy as good and diligent mods, for instance - but they still have the right to voice out their opinions.
Thank you. ^_^ My biggest objection to what the original poster put up (which I?ve already addressed) was the implication that being younger meant you were incapable and undeserving of the opportunity to contribute to the site. And since that includes far more than myself, I felt it was unfair to give the impression that the contributions of younger members don?t count because of their age. Or because of how long they have been a member.
MAMA stands for "Members Against Mods and Admins". It's a group that's been "secretive" about their angst/anger/whatever the crap you want to call it of how they perceive the OB now from back-in-the-day. They're upset about all the new mods, the poor quality in posts these days, how "n00bs" are running the scene, and about how they feel that "oldies" are being treated poorly (mainly because they're sour that they aren't mods themselves instead of the new members). Honestly, I did go through an angst stage that I'd been here for a long time, and felt I didn't get the recognition I felt I deserved. Over the past six months or so, I just don't care anymore.
That?s kind of sad that there is a belief that to be recognized you have to be a mod. o_O I can easily think of many members who are outstanding for their contributions to the site. It may not have been public, but the recognition was there. Take Gavin for instance; when I first joined I was impressed by how polite and well spoken he is. Or Sandy and his tireless devotion to RPG?s that he?s organized. I followed OtakuBoards Survivor from the very beginning to the very end. And then there are the artists like DW and Ezekiel and Keyblade Wielder just to name a few. There are plenty more that I recognize on sight for their wonderful work and contributions.
Alright Annie seeing as you basically just exposed everyone of us in the group, including those of us like myself who only joined MAMA last week and didn't notice the thread until about five minutes ago, I'll speak up.
I may not have known what MAMA stood for, but viva otaku? Considering the concerns that have been brought up about post quality in the past few months, it was pretty obvious that viva otaku stood for some type of reform for the boards. Just having the titles in your signatures has already had you partially exposed from the very beginning.
Now for those Moderators and/or Administrators who are about to jump down my throat I should remind them that the group was only ever against those Moderators and Administrators whom we felt were not doing their job, Bio was the first one raised although I must admit I do not use the Underground enough to have noticed. A lot of you do great jobs regardless of what ages you are or how many posts you have, however there are those of you who simply do not do the jobs we expect from someone in your position, and because we needed somewhere independent to discuss those we felt were not up to the task it was obvious we needed to go off-site to do it.
No need to do something like that. But I do want to make a clarification here. It?s one thing to say that a moderator doesn?t do what you expect of them, but last time I checked, it?s not possible to read someone?s mind. It goes without saying that there is a lot of behind the scenes and pm?s going on in relation to doing moderating duties. I know I run to Desbreko when I have a question. ^_^ But it honestly sounds like you are assuming that the moderators who are not living up to your expectations are in fact doing nothing. Did you ever try to confirm that? Unless someone comes along and says hey! I think you are missing this I and any other moderator will never know if others are unhappy with how we do things. And like Ozy mentioned with the problem thread, members had been warned, some had been banned and others improved. The original poster assumed she had done nothing when in fact she had. I?m just saying that it?s not always obvious that something is in fact being done. And to say someone isn?t living up to your expectations, well I already mentioned it; we can?t read your mind so we honestly don?t know what your expectations are. James and Desbreko and other administrators have clearly outlined what they expect and many of us do our best to follow those guidelines.
Those of you who feel this group is somehow a stupid idea, or an Oldie-only club for those who feel they were passed over for Modship are entitled to your opinions, but I personally say you're wrong on every account. We are a group who were dedicated to improving the genuine quality of the site on the quiet, so that people like Joe wouldn't have to create these kinds of threads in order to see positive changes. Unfortunately thanks to Annie's little out-burst we won't be able to do that any more, but perhaps with more time we would have been able to do some good work. There genuinely are things wrong with the way OB is run, we're desperately short of Moderators in some areas, most notably the Arena which has descended into a condition not seen in years. I don't blame Sarah, but I reported a thread over a week ago that still hasn't been locked, the Arena has never had so few mods, not in five years and we feel that something needs to be done now rather than after "the coming update". So Annie, well done, I salute and applaud to your destruction of a group that only ever had the good of OB at heart.
Considering what MAMA stands for, it does make your club easy to misunderstand. o_O I don?t think it?s stupid, but the title is very misleading. The other title viva otaku is just fine but MAMA makes no sense to me. You?ve kind of lost me here, are you saying that change can?t be made unless it?s in secret? I don?t see that Annie has destroyed anything. I always got the impression that you cared for the boards whether or not you belonged to a club and you?ve never been secretive about that care before. If your group is ineffective due to being known then in all honesty it?s not much of a group if it can?t take a little scrutiny.
 16. Since this is more of a general question about sexuality I?m moving it over to the Otaku Lounge. ~Aaryanna
 17. Hehehe! I think I love your new avatar too Charles. ^_^
Some moderators are only 14 or 15 (Aaryana is 13!), have less than 500 posts and haven?t even been here a year.[/SIZE']
I think you kind of lost me here, yes I?m thirteen, and your point? I?m confused as to what you are trying to say here. Am I not allowed to post as clearly and coherently as I am capable of just because I am thirteen? And I need 500 posts because?? Let me think, 500 is a good even number? Is that it? I understood that the idea was that OtakuBoards encouraged members to excel in their writing skills. I understood it to mean that posting to the best of your ability was more important that having a certain post count. And if my age really bothers you, well as indifference already noticed. I?ll be fourteen this Thursday. :p
the younger mods like Aaryana, Amelia, and while not young but still newer to the boards indifference also need to be replaced by members who have been here longer and are as competent and more deserving.
It seems to me that your main objection is based on age and length of membership. Instead of on actually ability and interest in contributing to the community. I agree with indifference; that?s like saying a member who has been here longer or has more posts is therefore better than others and that?s not true.
If these issued were addressed then the OB would reform greatly and we?d all see the OB re-emerge that we loved back 2 - 3 years ago. [/SIZE']

Click Me. OtakuBoards was so much better 3 years ago.
Quoted for truth. ;) If I was older I'd want to adopt you Boo. ^_^
 18. Well now that it?s my turn, I finally found a good picture. ^_^ Though I?m sure all of you will guess it in no time. It just seemed appropriate since I just saw it for the first time over the weekend. Pity the Manga was a hundred times better. Anyway? ta da! EDIT: Chihaya from Earthian is correct. ^_^ It's your turn Dream.
 19. I haven't actually seen the anime, but I've been running into a lot of pictures from it lately. So unless there's another one out there similiar to it, I think it's from Ouran High School Host Club.
 20. Welcome to OtakuBoards Kagome259 I will be closing this thread for several reasons. First of all you are in the wrong area of the forum for discussing movies. The Music, Movies & TV area is the place for that. Be sure to take a look at the rules for that section before posting. The other reason is expected post quality. Not only does post quality involve the concept of having clear, easy to read posts, along with correct use of spelling, grammar and punctuation, but it involves just how much a poster?s reply contributes, and expands to any given discussion. Something your opening post does not do. This is something that is greatly valued here at OtakuBoards, and we encourage members to exceed with their writing skills. ~Aaryanna Thread Closed
 21. I don?t really drool over any anime character, but I do have ones that I think are cuter and far more fun that the others. ^_^ By far my favorite type is the bandit/rouge like Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi. Not only is he adorable with his rugged good looks, but I love his personality and attitude towards everyone. A combination of being both naughty and good. The other type I like is the refined flirt, like Zelos from Tales of Symphonia. Not only is he adorable, but the way he thinks all females love him more than any other character in the game is endearing. I guess he?s a bit of a rouge as well. And last but not least is the combination innocent/mysterious and mature. In this case I?m thinking of Kratos and Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia. Lloyd, though dimwitted has the kind innocent friendliness that?s endearing in how he accepts anyone who at least tries to do right. And Kratos is the mysterious yet mature and dashing warrior. Holding secrets and kindness behind a fierce ruthlessness towards his enemies. I suppose it helps that I think the voice actors for all of them sound cute as well. Now all I need is a bishounen that is a combination of everything I?ve listed here. If someone like that comes along, even I will be drooling.
 22. I like how you broke up the paragraphs a little more this time around, but I think the separation of the actual conversation could use a little work. It?s better than your original, but it still seems a little crowed in the paragraphs? It helps that they are in bold, but I think it could use a little tweaking to make them stand out like you did in the first chapter. The biggest flaw I see in the logic of the story is this part:
Celestia made it to the stairs but before she had taken a single step, the aliens shot her in the left arm. To her surprise instead of hearing the usual chime indicating she had taken a hit, Celestia felt an electrical shock run though her arm from where the laser hit. The sudden pain and the fact that the blast actually pushed her a bit forward on the left side nearly caused her to lose her balance and fall down the stairs. She had to grab onto the railing to keep from falling as she ran down the stairs. Celestia wondered what the hell had happened to the program for it to create a malfunction like that. The holographic projectors should have been completely unable to produce anything like that!
Based on what you?ve written in the first chapter here:
Celestia went over and entered the main game room. She shut the door and watched as the door was covered by the electrical energy turning it into a wall. Celestia reached over and ran her hand along the wall. It felt so real that unless you knew there was a door there, you wouldn?t even be able to tell the difference.
It would indicate a high level or reality if it felt so real that a person couldn?t tell the difference. So the statement that the holographic projectors wouldn?t have been able to produce something that would actually hurt the main character just doesn?t fit. Perhaps it would make more sense that it was programmed to produce a beam of light that only looked like a laser instead of it having electrical properties that would actually hurt Celestia? So she's surprised that the program is working in a manner that it was not specifically programed to do? I realize it?s just a made up story, but I would think it would be more realistic to encounter something that the system was not programmed to do. Meh, I feel like I?m rambling, but it just seems that walls that feel real would indicate the program could possibly produce simulated shots with the same electrical energy (for forming the walls that felt real) mentioned in the first chapter; that could actually hurt the person in the game. Other than that I don?t have any other suggestions. ^_^
 23. Bubbles was shocked to learn that her new 'bubble wand' could be used for things besides fighting evil. I leave it up to your imagination as to what the 'other' uses are. :p
 24. First of all I think it?s wrong for the government to try and modify the constitution all for the sake of forcing their moral views on the population. I always understood that the very foundation of the USA was to have religious freedom and that includes having different beliefs where being gay/lesbian is acceptable.
I didn't actually say that it was wrong to deny them that right, I said it would be as wrong to deny me my right to prevent the distortion of my religious beliefs and the institutions that are a part of those beliefs. There is a difference.
Ignoring some of the current discussion, since it would take me to long to address every point, and some have already been addressed. But I don?t understand how gay marriage is distorting your religious beliefs. Honestly that just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. There are lots of religions that are different than yours, have different marriage practices than yours and yet how are gay marriages distorting your beliefs and yet say the practice of another religion like the LDS/Mormon does not? Each one seems to go on the basis that they are the correct way to be married. In the eyes of the LDS/Mormon church marriages performed by your church are not valid and I would assume it?s the same from the other side of the coin so to speak. So again I ask you why would gays getting married distort your religion? It would to me simply be another belief practiced most likely by people who are not a member of your religion who like you have the right to live by their own beliefs. Which in this case is the belief that gay/lesbian marriage is okay. If you go by what you are saying, then for a very long time we have been perverting others beliefs even to the point of denying them the right to have them.
 25. When I first started looking at online forums one of my friends recommended I join OB. Since then, I have looked at other forums but so far I haven?t joined any of them. The biggest thing that keeps me here is the diversity. OB has so many different interests that you don?t have to be an anime fan to join and have fun. Although I have looked at other forums, after looking around a bit I always come right back to OB. So far I?ve yet to find another forum that interests me enough to actually join. And to be frank one of the biggest turn offs is the poor quality posts and constant spaming. The other turn off is the huge signatures and avatars. I really hate looking through a thread that is 90% avatars and signatures along with a handful of one word or one line posts. I?m sure there are other good forums to join, I just haven?t come across one yet. Besides if I went elsewhere then I couldn?t stalk Desbreko. ^_~
