The quote I live by is ?A dog is the only thing on Earth that will love you more than you love yourself.? I love this quote since no matter what my day has been like I always get to look forward to coming home to my dog. It?s cheesy but true; when I?m sick or upset it never makes any difference she always loves me. And it never fails to make me feel better. ^_~
If you are an anime addict, I challenge you to live few weeks witout anime. You will have much more freetime and you can do "different" things. Tell about your experiences.
That?s actually a fairly easy challenge for me. ^_~ As much as I like anime I enjoy reading a lot more. I?m not referring to manga but to regular sci-fi, fiction, fantasy and a fair amount of other topics depending on what catches my interest. Right now I?m currently reading the third book in The Oathbound Wizard series by Christopher Stasheff. And when I finish with the third book there are five more after it that I intend to read. As much as I like anime I?ve even forgotten to watch the newest episodes on weekends because I was too caught up in my current book. I end up seeing it eventually. In either a re-run or on DVD when it is finally released.

I don?t have any big plans for the summer. Once school is out my Mom usually takes me and my Dog up into the mountains to go hiking on some of the lighter trails several times a week through out the summer. The rest of my time is spent living at the library and watching lots of anime with my friends. I love getting new books to read, taking a blanket outside with my Dog and curling up on the blanket in the shade to read for hours at a time. ^_^
dude when i said that the infections had gone down I meant in the Bahamas.
Hmmm...considering this:
HIV infection rates in the Caribbean are the highest in the world outside of Africa, with an estimated prevalence of 2.1%. By the end of 2003, UNAIDS estimates that approximately 430,000 individuals were living with HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean, compared with 330,000 individuals at the end of 1998; this same report cites that the true number living with HIV may be as high as 760,000.
Then the infection rate there must have been horrendous back in the 80's. Anyway, others in this thread have already expressed it better than I can but I'll echo their sentiment. Don't give up. ^_~ And like SunfallE said, definitely do some research as I am sure there is all sorts of support groups and probably even government programs out there that exist for helping people who are infected with HIV.
In fairness to Tuxedo Mask, he only needs a single rose to finish villains off. Compared to Kurama of Yuyu Hakusho, Akazukin Chacha's Teacher Bara-bara Man, and other characters whose weapon of choice is a rose variant, TM is a war deity[/b']. Bohahahaha!
Exactly! Besides, when Sailor Moon was animated they changed Tuxedo Mask. He does have his own transformation sequence and more than just a simple rose to finish off villains. If someone in that series really is sad and corny, it?s Sailor Moon herself. I?ve lost count of the times she?s had to be rescued by Tuxedo Mask. Yes she?s the heroine, but on some level, she?s useless. [/end rant] As for corny anime characters, I would have to go with most of the cast to DBZ. It?s a never ending repeat of power up and finally win a battle after who knows how many episodes. Though considering how badly Sailor Moon was edited, perhaps it is the same for DBZ.

I usually watch anime on the weekends. Between school, homework and other regular TV shows that I like I end up with no time during the week to watch any anime. Occasionally I do but not very often. My absolute favorite time to watch is between 8-10pm. At that point I?ve usually finished any homework and I?m ready to settle down for the night. So curling up in a blanket to catch a bit or anime is very relaxing.

I?m not even sure if I believe in Heaven or Hell, but if I did. Well I would probably be an angel. And like The13thMan and Retribution I?d be one that fought for justice. If angels could protect the innocent, well as cheesy as it sounds people who allow animals to starve to death and are cruel to them would be among the first I would deliver justice to. Though a battle to triumph over evil sounds like a worthy cause as well.

Well first of all I do not believe in destiny. Believing in destiny would to me seem to take away our ability to make choices. It would imply that (for example) the woman who was beaten to death by her abusive husband was destined to die at his hands. And that he was destined to kill her. In a sense such a thing would make crimes acceptable since the person was ?destined? to do what they did. I also don?t believe in it, as it would limit what you could do. Any attempt to rise above your destiny would be futile since other accomplishments or horrendous deeds were not in your destiny. That being said, I do believe in our choices being influenced. For example if I want to fly by myself, well it?s just not possible as I am not a bird and lack wings. It requires the influence or use of technology in order for me to safely leave the ground and in a sense fly. And as others have already put it, your future on some level is what you make of it.
I'm totally prepared to be pounced on for this, but if they risked life and limb to cross the borders, I would say they earned it in a sense. And after they are allready there, they can't be kicked out right, so why don't they just apply for the visa or green card or whatever it is they need to become citizens. Then that way even if it was illegal at first, they still earned the right to call America their home.
So if I break into a bank does that mean I have the right to the money inside? Just because they risked life and limb to do something illegal does not mean they earned it. That reasoning is very illogical if you think about it. If we follow that line of thought then we have to reward all criminals who are successful. And just because they are here doesn?t mean they can?t be kicked out. ?Last year, the government had a banner year in kicking out illegal immigrants. By spending billions of dollars on apprehension, detention, and legal processing, by devoting millions of staff hours to the effort, and by pushing through get-tough policy changes, the feds managed to deport a record 200,000 foreigners.? I got that from here:Clickith! If you want to read the rest. I agree with SunfallE in that there are immigrants who do not deserve to get citizenship just because they happen to be an illegal immigrant. Some are honest and just want a better living and others are not. So I'm against just letting all of them become legal. We need to reform the system to help those who deserve citizenship get it and to deport those who do not deserve it.
As for the official language bit I know that for the state of Utah it?s English. ^_^

Unfortunately, you're wrong. There is no official language, but English is the de facto language. A bit of research might help. ;)
Actually I did research it. ^_~ Take a look here: ENGLISH AS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF UTAH It was passed by voters on November 7, 2000. No one is saying that we should keep everyone out either. Obviously immigration needs to be reformed, as it?s hard for immigrants to enter the country legally. But that doesn?t mean that the answer is to allow free access either. Also I?m going to break out the argument of drugs being brought in along with the immigrants. The problem is made far more difficult by what the immigrants bring with them. Often times, a whole family is smuggled in, including small children. And sometimes the price to the individual arranging the smuggling is paid in the form of an agreement to carry illegal drugs. It?s a problem without an easy answer.
On top of that, does America have an official language? Didn't think so.
As for the official language bit I know that for the state of Utah it?s English. ^_^

Do You Think About Your Generation's Future?
Aaryanna replied to Touchstone's topic in General Discussion
First of all I think people were missing what Derald was trying to say. There?s nothing wrong with having an attitude that in spite of the negative things happening I won?t let it drag me down. Not once did Derald say he wasn?t going to do anything. You don?t have to be part of some big movement or political stance to make the world a better place. I think that people often get so caught up in thinking they are a part of the big picture that they forget the little unnoticed things that make a difference. Like conserving water, recycling, using light bulbs that take less energy. Making sure to vote on the issues you understand. All of these are little things that make a difference. For myself I actually intend to be a vet. I want to work with organizations to help end animal cruelty and further educate people on caring for their pets. It?s not a grand scheme but I think it?s important. As for other world issues, if I can help I will, but I?m not going to lose any sleep if it?s something I can?t really do anything about. -
Well considering that the rating for this show is: Mature (May contain sex, drugs, and extreme graphic violence) I know that I won?t be seeing it anytime soon. Watching a show with that type of rating is likely to get me grounded! But when I read this explaining a bit of what the show is about: Pandy and Retro, two unlikely renegades, awaken naked on Earth with no recollection of their past. After embarking on a devastating crime spree for food, clothing and transportation in downtown Tokyo, they are captured by authorities and sent to the infamous lunar prison called Dead Leaves. I admit that I?m curious to know why they woke up naked with no memories. O_o

It?s been mentioned in this thread before, but if you are jailbait then yes age matters. If you find you can?t wait until you are considered legal for a more intimate relationship then it?s even more important to wait. To be blunt at that point a person probably isn?t mature enough for the responsibility that comes from a more intimate relationship. Once you get past the legal age issue I don?t see a problem with liking someone older or younger than you. I know many adults that are anywhere from 1 to 15 years apart and yet they are happily married. For simple dating I think that age does not matter, but beyond that it?s important to wait until you are old enough for the more serious stuff.

When I first joined I visited several times a week. I would spend less than 30 minutes checking out the threads and occasionally responding to what others had posted. Now I stop by everyday. Though like Desbreko sometimes it?s only to take care of any mod stuff. But even then I still enjoy reading the new posts. ^_^

How about being half something but actually looking like it? My mom?s family when they originally entered the USA came from Germany. I understand that a number of them came from Russia as well. They?ve been in the USA long enough that none of us speak German or Russian. But a lot of us defiantly look German with blonde hair and blue eyes. But I?m from either the third or fourth generation so I?m considered American. If I were to talk about not looking like my ancestry then I would have to choose the small percent that came from one of my great great grandmothers being 100% Cherokee. So far not a single one of the family has ever looked like her.
Everyone in this thread has completely forgotten the most important animal in the entire world!! The Giant Panda of course!! How can you resist this cute face?!
I can't resist that adorable cute face! ^_~ *adds working in a Zoo to her list of possible career choices* I can't believe I didn't think of that one before! Or the choice to be an animal cop! ^_~

My strongest emotion is love. I simply adore my dog, she?s like a member of the family and in some ways I consider myself her mom. I like to think that she loves me in return since she follows me everywhere when I?m at home. My other strongest emotion is anger. I?ve been watching Animal Precinct on TV and the things I see people doing to their pets horrifies me! I just don?t understand how people can be so cruel to their own pets. It?s so sad to see how they abandon, hurt and kill their pets by not treating them when they are sick or not feeding them when they are hungry. I find that I would love to clobber them for being so mean!

What do you think your signature says about you?
Aaryanna replied to shadowpimp's topic in General Discussion
That I love my dog? Well besides the obvious, I actually intend to either be a vet or a technician at a vet clinic. I?ve also thought about having my own dog and cat grooming shop. And if I ever want the chance to care for panda?s then I could even consider working in a Zoo. ^_~ So my signature is all about what I love best. Animals, especially my own dog. ^_~ -
What do you think are the best and worst foods?
Aaryanna replied to Up4anime's topic in General Discussion
I love broccoli! And all sorts of vegetables. ^_^ I like to steam them until they are slightly crunchy. Sometimes I?ll put a little bit of grated cheese on them but I prefer them without anything added. I also like baked fish like salmon and trout with just a tiny bit of butter melted on them. A plate of baked trout, rice and steamed veggies is just so yummy! The thing I don?t like is foods that are super greasy. >_< I?m even picky about what types of sausage I will eat as some are far more greasy than other brands. -
Well that?s a twist I didn?t expect. ^_^ I?ve been following this since it started and I?ve really enjoyed reading it as everyone has been so creative with their characters. I certainly think the two finalists did an awesome job. Good luck to both of you. ^_~
I don?t ever remember feeling jealousy towards one of my friends. There have been times when I was envious, but it was more of a I wanted a game or movie that they had. It wasn?t true jealousy. Truthfully being jealous of your friends is pointless as you are focusing on what you don?t have instead of what you do. I suggest you stop and take a look at what you have instead of focusing on what you don?t. You might even be surprised to find that you have things your friend would be envious of.
I agree with indifference, what?s the point in being jealous? The truth is that no matter where you look there will always be someone with something you don?t have. And I?m sure that if you look you will see others who don?t have what you do. I?ve never been jealous of my friends, but I?ve had some who were jealous of me. >_< It just baffles me since I didn?t go to my mom and say things like give me a dog or this item since my friends don?t have it. When I get good grades I?m not thinking that I got a better grade than so and so. I just work hard to get it. Unless my friends tell me I don?t even know what grade they got.

Well all you have to do is look at my banner and avatar to know what my favorite animal is. ^_~ I love dogs. I also love cats and other animals as well. Enough that I plan on either working as a vet or as a technician at a veterinary clinic. I?ve also considered learning how to groom dogs and cats and eventually opening up my own grooming shop.

Welcome to OtakuBoards Blizzfury, I?m closing your thread for the following reasons: 1 ? At OtakuBoards we emphasize conversation. Other than to say yes I?ve seen it or no I haven?t there isn?t much in the way of a discussion. 2 ? Which brings me to the second reason. Since conversation is important we usually do not allow this type of thread as it usually ends up with people just posting simple yes and no answers. If you really want to find this background you can put the question and link in your signature with instructions for people to pm you if they know where to find the wallpaper. That way anytime you post everyone will see your question.
