[COLOR="DarkGreen"][FONT="Tahoma"]I'm all for reducing pollution and I think the writer has a point. However I think they choose the wrong thing to use as a focus point for making that point. The problem with saying date local is it implies that any distance at all should result in the termination of a relationship because of the carbon footprint. That's not a good reason in my opinion. It's a factor, because distance makes things harder, but it shouldn't limit you when it comes to meeting people. I think the real problem is that it's easy to be wasteful regardless of whether or not you are in a relationship. I would have been more inclined to listen to this if they hadn't' tried to take an emotional slant to make you feel guilty for having a long distance relationship or considering one. [/FONT][/COLOR]

[COLOR="DarkGreen"][FONT="Tahoma"]I don't really care one way or the other. o_O It's not like my teachers really pay attention to the month. My current one is just taking us through the book section by section to cover history. There are different parts in the book for covering different aspects of it, just as we have stuff we have to read on history related to Utah as a state. So far, there hasn't been anything that gave me the impression that she was leaving stuff out. I do have a world history class, and I looked at the book. I can't say if it's fair in trying to cover more than major countries since I haven't compared it to what someone would consider more complete. We have Pioneer day here in Utah to bring to mind the state being settled. Seems like other holidays are the same. Whether or not they do any good depends on the school, the books being used, the teachers, etc.[/FONT][/COLOR]

I always understood that it was the prosecution that decided if they would seek the Death Penalty and only if certain conditions were met. Not the family or friends of the victims. So why do we talk as if it's to benefit them? They don't even have a choice in the matter if what I've read is correct. The Death Penalty isn't about getting revenge for anyone. It's about a responsible society dealing with crime in the manner that best suits the nature of the crime. I find it rather odd that so much fuss is made over the number of people who have been executed and yet the number of people who have died from murder each year is just shoved under the carpet. Our system, as Allamorph already explained, is set up to help protect the innocent by allowing appeals and so forth and since so few people are actually sentenced to death, I really don't see a problem with applying this to more heinous crimes. Seriously, I understand that since 1976 over 1,000 people have been executed. And yet according to this (which only has data up to 2005) [URL="http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/intimates.htm#intgender"][U]Report[/U][/URL] just under 600,000 people have been murdered. o_O Seriously... wtf? [B]DNAngel volumes 1-11:[/B] I got it mainly because it was given to me. I have the series on DVD and I have the music too so I guess it made sense to give me that too. XD I really like it though since it has a lot of stuff in it that wasn't included in the anime. It's not done though because the author took a break.
