I got the 2.0 update for the PSP. It's the update that has the internet capabilities. Surpisingly it was pretty simple. A quick download from the site to my MemoryStick, then a quick installation, and then i was ready. I entered in the SSID, WEP, and all that was necessary and then got started. I originally thought it's be hard to get around, but it's surprisingly easy. The www. is already set up and so are other things like .com, .org, .net, etc...It was much easier than I thought it'd be.
The military was seen going in last time I checked. And really, this is New Orleans we're talking about here people. I don't know if you've never been, but it basically has a history for being an extremely shady place.
Yeah, the military is in there. The have those high water vehicles and helicopters bringing supplies and helping with evacuation. Not all of New Orleans is 'shady'. The French Quarter isn't, it's just like every other large city, some areas are fine, other areas you'll be asking for trouble.
Hey when does .hack//GU and the Fragment one come to the USA? I cant wait to get them so can someone here tell me please?
G.U. Is 'supposedly' coming out in the first quarter of 2006. EBgames says G.U. will be shipping in November, before fragment. Bandai says Fragment will be out before G.U. All i have to say to EB is "Dumb ***** get it right for once"

An arm, a leg and half a foot: the gas price thread
SilentSecurity replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Necessity is the mother of invention. Thanks to hurricane Katrina gas prices in my area have gone up to $4.39 a gallon. I'm not a poor guy but this is too much for me. My morning commute is about thirty miles. So I end up filling my tank 2 or 3 times a week. I've decided to invest in public transportation until i get a hybrid. I have sympathy for kids in school. Gas for busing and and all the other expenses come out of one sum that our local schools are allotted (for my county at least). This means money that was supposed to go towards education is going to fill up the school bus. I hope they make hydrogen powered buses soon, 'cause we're gonna need 'em. -
Looting became a problem in both Biloxi and in New Orleans, in some cases in full view of police and National Guardsmen. One police officer was shot in the head by a looter in New Orleans, but was expected to recover, Sgt. Paul Accardo, a police spokesman.
May god save us. It's really ****** pathetic that people are looting things like game stores when thousands are suffering.
Outside the broken shells of Biloxi's casinos, people picked through slot machines to see if they still contained coins. "People are just casually walking in and filling up garbage bags and walking off like they're Santa Claus," said Marty Desei, owner of a Super 8 motel.
I was amazed when I read this. People are actually wasting time looting slot machines?!?! I also heard that the helicopters evacuating people from the super dome were being shot at. OK, cops stopping looters getting shot makes little sense, but helicopters saving peoples lives being shot at WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH US?!

Anime Which animes have the best songs?
SilentSecurity replied to graysky07's topic in Otaku Central
Cowboy Bebop is my pick. Every time I hear the music it brings tears to my eyes. How the blend of jazz and blues goes perfect with the series. I love it when
Spike jumps from the cathedral window (episode 6 or 7 i think). The music when he's falling is so perfect. Also the remix version of 'Real Folk Blues' in the last episode, when Spike charges into the syndicate, is PERFECT. I have almost all the soundtracks for Cowboy Bebop. Not only are the main songs great, but even the background music is beautiful. Now Samurai Champloo is also original. The DJ disc scratches (or whatever you call them) just flows with the battle scenes. The ending song is also pretty **** cool. -
It really started with me just surfing the web. OB was the first forum I participated with (under a different name, a few years back). I totally forgot a bout OB for awhile until just recently I came back, I couldn't remember my old name so I made a new one. I'd been participating in the forums on gamespot and a few others around the net. Group Sounds is one of my favorites (besides OB of course). Runescape is something I spend a little of my time on, but most of the time I stick with here and .hack//Integral (another cool site, the links on my MyO site). Thanks to the internet I can talk to friends and family with AIM, Yahoo, and MSN. I don't know what I'd do without the internet.

Gwen Stefani- What was she thinking!?
SilentSecurity replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
No doubt was a pretty good group. Some of there songs weren't great, but it's better than what she's got now. If I here that song on the radio one more time I swear I'm going to hang myself. Yet, I hear that people love that song. Like The Monster said it's just utter crap. -
So you can feel more like a man even if your
package[/spoiler'] is lacking. I've just noticed that more men than women drive those.
That's because women are smarter than men in general. They don't feel like they need to pollute and buy Hummers to feel good. -
I don't know about being more serious. I think a reason people watch bond is because it's fast paced action but it's not to bloody. Parents don't have to shield their kids eyes a lot and non action lovers can get their occasional action fix. I think Reeves would give the series a dark feel to it, even when he was in 'Somethings gotta give' he was creepy. Wouldn't you just love to see Sean Penn play 007, no I didn't think so.
-
Well, the next James Bond movie old Pierce won't be the man in action. At 52 years old he was fired from the job of 007. Out of all the actors he's my second favorite to play Bond. Connery was the best in my opinion but Brosnan easily takes second place. Firing him kinda bums me but I guess it was time, him screwing young chicks at 52 doesn't seem as realistic anymore. It amazed me that he was already 42 when he made his first 007 film "Goldeneye" in 1995. He was only in 4 of the bond movies and the producers said he was coming back for a 5th. He got a phone call saying that his role as 007 was no longer needed (at least he didn't take it so bad he threw a phone at anyone :animesmil ). Here's what he said about it in Entertainment Weekly: ~Beware this contains spoilers for Entertainment Weekly's August 19th issue~ Brosnan says he's grateful to have had the role, but adds: "It never felt real to me. I never felt I had complete ownership over Bond. Because you'd have these stupid one-liners ? which I loathed ? and I always felt phony doing them." Well Pierce you'll no longer have to tell people you want your martini's shaken not stirred. I'm still sad to see him go :animecry: . P.S. I apologize if I upset anyone while writing this. So aren't you bummed about this? Also who do you think should play the next bond?
However, you don't need to read through the entire thing, lol. When you get into it, you just automatically check the last page of the threads you're interested in.
I've done that before. It ended up with people complaining saying what I've said was already stated. I wouldn't go through 40 pages just to see If someone said something similar, that's why I tend to stray away from threads with many replies.

Gaming Console front plate customization, Sink or Swim?
SilentSecurity replied to SilentSecurity's topic in Noosphere
I think plate customization for the XBOX 360 has just sunk for me. I saw the prices for the plates and $19.99 is more than I want to spend to make my console look flashy. See the XBOX 360 thread for a link to the full list of prices. Xbox 360 alone costs $399 and then games. I'm not going to blow more money for a flashy front. If it were $5 OK I'd do it, but $20 isn't what I'm willing to spend right now after I purchase the 360. -
Yeah, I made a thread that asked if anyone was sad to see Paranoia Agent with only one more episode to go before it's over. I also made one asking who would win if Jin and Mugen started fighting. I never got any replies, because nobody ever looked in the old ones they ended up in. I didn't know what had happened.
That's true but if the staff let every new thread go then it would be a madhouse like some forums I've been in. I do agree with you though, I don't tend to look at a thread if it already has 100+ replies. Maybe there should be something set up that if the original thread is inactive for so long it's closed and the next new one to spring up is where all the following threads of that subject are directed to.

An arm, a leg and half a foot: the gas price thread
SilentSecurity replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I think the point of owning a vehicle like a Hummer, is because you really don't have to worry about filling it up. Many of the people I know that own a Hummer (not like it's a lot), are businessmen with really cushy type of jobs, that are really well paid. So, the inconvenience of having to fill up a car like that, really is outweighed by the fact that they drive an attention grabbing vehicle. Same with the really exotic sports cars.. Not big on gas mileage, but how many times does a Honda Civic catch your attention while you are driving down the road (note: the non-neon colored ones, the ones that make you shudder, lol).. bet you not as often as a Lamborgini does.. I'm not really taking their side on this, but if I had tons of money just blowing a hole in my pocket, I'd have a flashier car too.. Not that I would drop as much on a car as they would =P
Sure people with the money can blow it on gas, but what about our environment. If earth could speak I'm sure it'd say "Get these ******* hummers off me." Global Warming is getting more and more severe with each hummer purchased, well maybe not that severe, but it's still a problem! -

I need a change for my banner. My mediocre banners aren't getting my anywhere fast. So, why not give you the pictures and have an expert do the work! OK I want these three pictures for the banner. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a76/SilentSecurity/naota_guitar.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a76/SilentSecurity/atomsk4.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a76/SilentSecurity/atomsk3.jpg Could the dimension be about 450x100. I'd like it to say ~Atomsk~ (yes add the ~~) In the top left corner. In the bottom left corner put ~The space pirate king~ Give it a good border that fits the 'mood' of the banner if you could. For the avatar http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a76/SilentSecurity/haruko002.jpg Have it the exact dimensions allowed. If you put a border around the banner, put the same one on the avatar. Could it just simply say ~Atomsk~ in the top left corner. I'll leave the fonts and colors to you. If you think something else would look good in it, add it. If you find more pictures of atomsk add them if they're good.
The game can also be played offline, where two computer controlled character become your group members. The adventures and characters you will meet span the entire .hack universe including comics, anime and games. You'll be able to raise your own characters Offline and take them Online.
I hope that Bandai IS smart enough to set up something where people with cheats enabled won't be able to access the internet version. I must admit right now I'm playing .hack//OUTBREAK with cheats like unlimited GP, EXP, and all member addresses. If cheats are allowed in fragment the game just wouldn't be fun. Will you be able to PK in fragment? I think that would be kind of cool.

An arm, a leg and half a foot: the gas price thread
I just filled up my friends H2 today and the total came to over $90, luckily he's picking up the tab. Why would anyone buy Hummers these days anyway, with gas prices and all. In my area gas is only a few cents off $3.00 per gallon and yet I see some idiot driving around in a hummer with a temporary license plate on back. Now, Hummer is trying to make their tanks more wallet friendly with the H3, it's still huge to me. Seriously, why would anyone besides the army buy Hummers right now, you'd be paying $100+ in gas a week (If you drive a lot).
Now, lets not be too hasty to criticize hummers. Sure they pollute like mini refineries and suck up resources like a camel drinking water, but let's look at the good side. I'll get back to you on the good side when I think of one. Oh I know, war!. Can that really be considered a good side though. Seriously, who'd want a hummer these days. They're gas guzzlers and that's about summing it up. I'm downsizing from my van to a RX-8 (it is downsizing in size :animeswea ). If the problem continues you'll start seeing more and more hybrids or coupes. Gas is now $2.95 a gallon in my city, and a van (even though its sweet) is just to expensive. I feel bad for soccer moms. -
Is that one he says? I thought it was "If lifes gives you lemons, find someone who's lifes giving them vodca and have a party." Or something close along those lines. Maybe he says both ^^; That's one hell of a quote to live by, lol.
He could say both. The time I heard him was on TV and another time live. Both times he said it the same way, but he could've changed it. -

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you scotch, make a party.~Ron White. I live by those words sometimes. Sometimes you have to be very stiff and firm with the kids. Because that extra inch makes a lot of difference~little brothers baseball coach. You can take those words two ways.
