Virgil stood lacked in position for a minute. He then reached down and unbuttoned his jacket and threw it to one side. He then charged at the ominous looking man in front of them. He hear Kerrian calling out to him, but his words just didn't register. Maybe it was ignorance, or maybe even guilt for letting her be taken like she was, but Virgil couldn't stop himself. He swung his sword down on the man with so much force that the impact actually cleared some of the dirt from their feet. Virgils sword had stopped inches from the mans left shoulder. A swirl of those same dark clouds and sparks were holding his sword back. The man simply looked to Virgil like all he had done was spoken out of turn "That was terribly rude. And here I had pegged you to be a better gentlemen then that." There was a flash of light and Virgil was thrown back to the edge of the plateau. He picked himself back up from the ground. What the hell had just hit him? He could barely get off the ground. Whatever hit him had broken several ribs. Sage ran over to him and tried to make him lay back down. She was trying to talk to him, but it was like he had gone deaf. He knew she was talking but the words just didn't register in his head. Something about this man filled Virgil with a mix of fear and rage. Like an animal backed into a corner. The man was now simply ignoring him and was continuing to talk to Kerrian which only served to further anger Virgil. Virgil lifted his sword again and drew it across his forearm, leaving his own blood laced along the blade. The sword began to eminate this crimson red energy that leaped from the blade like fire. Virgil pushed himself back to his feet and pushed Sage to one side and took one swing with his sword "Blood Baine!" This crimson fire jumped from his sword and struck the man. This time Virgil was sure he was down, but when the smoke cleared the man had done little more then simply rose his left hand to stop his attack. Virgil was horrified by this monsterous display of power. He turned to Virgil, who was starting to losing the felling in his arms and legs "And even after I gave a chance." Virgil felt a sudden stinging pain across his chest and was knocked back once again. This time there was a large, deep cut across his stomach. Virgil could hear voices around him, but he couldn't tell whos they were as he lost consciouness.

Virgil hesitated for a moment, but then quickly reached for his sword and tried to catch the beast in the air. But as soon as he was in range it gave a single beat of it's wings that both propelled itself higher and sent Virgil crashing to the ground. The snowy mountain top managed to absorb most of the shock, but now he was stuck and the Roc was getting away. Virgil focused his fire magick into his sword and melted the ice and snow and got back to his feet. He rolled his shoulder and heard it crack a bit, which caused him to wince a bit. He then started gripping the hilt of his sword tighter til the skin on his hand was taunt and white "Son of a Bitch!" Sage came over to him "Don't worry. We'll find them." Kerrian and Rain stared off into the fog. Sage's words did nothing to comfort Virgil, who was still clearly upset "I hesitated. I let my own anxiety and fear block my reflexes. This never should've happend!" Virgil sheathed his sword while Kerrian turned to face him "So what are you gonna do about it? Just stand there a fume." Rain then turned to Kerrian "That's enough. Leave him alone." Without another word Virgil marched off into the mist in hopes of picking up the trail. His march slowly evolved into a run, fearing that any slacking off would result in Milo's certain death. He could hear the others chasing after him.

There's a christmas eve party that my family has every year at my aunts house and that's about it really. I'm not big on the holidays personally.

Personally I don't have a problem with marijuana, since even if it's legalized, it won't change anything much. People who want to do it already do it and people who don't want to don't. We talk about it opening doors but it's really a matter of people and not the drug itself. I, for one, don't smoke, drink or do any kind of drug, legal or otherwise. Not because I can't get to them, but because I simply don't have the desire. As far as legalizing marijuana goes, it's more the matter of making a statement then it is actually legalizing the drug. Hell, the guy who started this thread even mentioned he was just busted on it. Every time you turn around there's some new stoner movie staring Tommy Chong or Dave Chappel now a days. Why? Because it's as much a part of our modern culture as anythign else. In light of this I say, go ahead and legalize it. Trust me, things won't change as much as people think. If anything else it'll help clean up the court system so we can more expediently try REAL criminals. You know, like murderers, rapists, and pedophiles. Who gives a crap if some guy had an ounce of pot on him? I'm more concerned about making sure we send some sick baby raper to prison. Aren't you?

Virgil and the others walked out into the open mountain air. There was a chill in the air, but that was to be expected being so far up and all. But there was something else about it. Something that sent shivers down Virgils spine. He couldn't quite understand why, but it felt as if he had a sword pressed to his throat. Like his life were in the hands of some sadistic monster. But from just looking he couldn't see anything. His anxiety was starting to show. Kerrian tapped on his shoulder "What's eating you? You look like you just saw a ghost." Virgil didn't say anything for a moment and just kind of glanced about and tried to regain his composure, not wanting to lose it in front of everyone. He cleared his throat "It's nothing. I'm just not use to the cold is all." Kerrian and Sage gave him an odd look. It didn't seem like they had bought it, but that didn't matter too much. Virgil started to walk ahead of the group. He turned to face them "We should get going. The man in the mountain said there's a monster that likes to roam this area. We should get out of here before he finds us." Everyone nodded in agreement and followed after Virgil. Despite having changed the subject, Virgil could still sense Kerrian and Sage shooting him some suspicious looks.

He dresses dark and acts just as dark. He has black eyes with black pupils and yellow irises. He wears and eye patch over his right eye. He lost the eye in a fight years ago. The wings on his back were born of the experiments he endured as a child, though he can't fly with them. Key Weapon: Key Spear- Long Arm Aurora. This is a six foot crimson red staff with a key etched blade stained black. The end of the spear has a silver chain that hangs from it. There is an odd gold text that Azure can't quite deciper on the side of it. The aurora can bend light and distort images allowing Azure to create illussions to disorient his enemies. Drive form: N/A Bio: Azure was born in the slums of Midgar. To who and when exactly he's not to sure. He lived in one of many labs owned by the Shinra organization. He was one of a handful of canidates for a new genetics project. It was suppose to breed a new race of human capable of synchronizing with and channeling mako. Azure lived a life of sterilization and quiet tolerance. He spent everyday convinced that someday his real family would come back and take him away and until then he would just bear through til they came. In the end the experiment was unsuccessful. The complete termination of all research subjects was orderd. When faced with what Azure knew to be his eminent death, he tapped into a powerful energy born of his years of torture and lashed out against his keepers with all the strength of force of nature. He was barely a teenager and managed to strike down a dozen armed men with his bare hands. He ran from that place and went back to try and rediscover a life in Midgar he had never had. Sadly, it was not what he had hoped it would be. With no place to go, being the monster that he was in both, form and power, and Shinra agents crawling all over the city looking for him he turned his back on the city and left it without so much as a backward glance. During his life he learned that the only thing that guarntees life in this world is power. And if one wants to live they must fight for that privledge ever day. If you want something, become strong enough to take it from someone to weak to hold on to it. This is how he has learned to survive. Name: Emilio Batou Age: 21 Personality: Whimsical would be the word to describe Emilio. He is of the innocent and pleasant sort. He smiles and carries on about his life, like he hasn't a thought in his head. He seems almost ignorant of the seemingly endless war between the east and west. To him the world is just one big playground for him to exploit in any way he likes. He is a bit promiscuous. With every new town he moves to he finds himself and new woman to seduce. He favors himself a ladies man, but is far from what one would consider smooth. Gender: Male Appearance: Emilio. He stands at about 5'11 and weights 162 lbs. Despite his innocent act, he carries quite a few scars from fights. The most noticable being across his stomach. Judging from the scar it's hard to see how he could have survived such a wound. Weapons: He carries the sword seen in the picture. It was a sword he bought in a pawn shop a few years ago. Despite carrying a sword, he's actually a better grappler then a sword fighter. Magic: He specializes in air bending spells, using them not only as a form of attack, but also using it to boost his own abilities, allowing him to run faster and jump farther with minimal physical effort. Side: West, Neutral. Dragon Name: Den Dragon Gender: Female Appearance: Den. Friend Name: Miles Gender: Male Species: He is a proud bird of prey of the pheonix order. His is a breed born through ice rather then fire. When his finally fails him it merely turns to water, freezes and he beings life anew. Appearance: Miles. Bio: Emilio has no real recollection of either of his parents. All he remembers is that once upon a time he had a family that loved him, and nothing more. Every memory since then has been of just him, Den, and Miles. Not that it matterd. They were all the family he needed in this world anyway. He lived by scrappings, stealing food to live and running from one place tot he next. He did this, not cause he had to, but because he couldn't stand being tied down. Maybe it was being with Miles all the time, but for some reason he couldn't help but want to reach for the sky. He travelled because he couldn't stand being stuck in anyone place for very long. When he was 14 he finally jumped the border between the east and west for the first time. This was the first time he had crossed "enemy lines". but despite all the expectations he had, things were exactly the same. People were treated the same and they all thougth about the exact same thing. How to better kill the other side. This all seemed so dreary and depressing to Emilio so he simply spent his life jumping from one side of the war to the next, never really allying himself with either side. He just didn't have any interest in it at all. He was much more interested in having a good time and living as free as a bird in the sky. No way he'd let himself get chained down to some war. Despite his rather pascifistic ideals, he was known to duke it out with the occasional mugger, bandit, or just plain old street thug. This lead him to many of the injuries and scars he now has. Despite this, he has never once asked either Den or Miles to bail him out in a tight spot. He doesn't like making them have to fight for him. He always fights his battles and does his best not drag others in. When he was 17 he started teaching himself how to use air based magic in an attempt to learn hom to fly like Den and Miles could. They were his family and yet they always seemed to far above him that he couldn't stand it. So he began learning how sway the flow of air so he might get a taste of what the open skies taste like. He's spent all these last few years simply carrying on like he always has, only moving on when he relaizes his welcome is wearing thin. It may not be a very consistent life, but he loves the freedom it gives him.

The situation was anything but desirable, but they would have to make due with what they had. Virgil was feeling a bit weak due to the blood lose. Thanks to his comrades the wounds had been healed, but this didn't make up for the fact that he was losing the feeling in his legs. They all took turns trying to decipher the esoteric and decaying text in the book, for all the good it did them. No one seemed sure what it was trying to say. It was so smudged and faded it was seeming like a lost cause. Virgil looked around, hoping to see a clue to there where abouts, and the fastest way out of this death trap. It was obvious that someone was here only a short time ago, but had left abruptly. Or maybe someone had been waiting for them. The set up just seemd too perfect. Were they being watched or were they simply scared off by the minotaur? It was just to hard to guess. Virgil patted Sage and the shoulder "Do you think this is some kind of trap? Or maybe just an odd style of hospitality?" Sage looked to Virgil "I'm not sure. Why, what are you thinking?" Virgil took in a deep breath through his nose "I'm thinking this food is starting to seem awfully appealing since none of us have had a decent meal in almost 2 days now." Sage hesitated for a moment. Milo looked to him as well, while Kerrian, Rain and Zeek seemed to be entertaining each other. Milo spoke up "Your not gonna eat are you? What if it's poisoned, you idiot!?" Virgil looked to Milo "The way things are we can either eat the food and risk the poison. Or, carry on without and watch our strength diminish until we can't fight back anymore." Neither Sage nor Milo said a word. Starving and poisoning were both pretty grim prospects. Between the last two fights and all the blood they had lost, without food, they were gonna collapse pretty soon. Virgil reached down to the plate and picked up a strange looking piece of still warm meat and went to take a bite.

This is a story about a group of friends. They met only by chance and knew each other only briefly, but the friendship and love they shared was as real as anything in this world. They were people of every stream of life, but some how were connected by one thing. Their determination to realize their own dreams. Sadly, they would never see these dreams come to pass. The turbulence to which they lived would leave them all dead on a blood stained battle field. This sad tale has been forgotten by history, but not by those whose lives were touched by them. Let this testament tell the story of these true forgotten heroes. Willam Marx ~"The forgotten diaries"~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The year was 782 of the Diannic calendar. The times were intense and large scale war seemed eminent. The empire of Celestia of the north and the republic of Kiel of the south were deadlocked in what seemed like an endless power struggle. Doing all they could to pool their resources and recruiting whatever allies they could manage to ethier side. Most nations folded under the pressure of whichever one they lay nearest to. It was little more than control through fear. This continued until only three nations in between were left. Being caught in the middle, none wished to ally themselves with either side, knowing that doing so would turn their homeland into a battle field. As a last despreate attempt to avoid all out war these three nations tried to act as mediators between the two military titans. To this time they have managed to appease both sides and prevent war, but it's still obvious that even though both political and military minds are appeased, civil minds are still in a state of unrest on all ends. This civil discord has even resulted in large scale riots in some larger cities in all five countries. Due to this many are now flocking to smaller villages to escape the chaos, but it's clear that it's only a matter of time until tempers reach there boiling point. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my latest attempt at an RP. I'm not expecting much, since virtually all others before this one have fallen flat on there faces, but I'm still holidng out hope for this one. Anyway, this is a story of a world falling apart at the seams, on the brink of a war of unimaginable scale. As well as the story of friends who are draged into the violence and ultimatly lose there lives. Yes, by the end, all of our characters will be dead. Sign Up: Name: Age: Try to keep this within reason. I don't want this to be a teenage drama. I don't mind a few, but not too many. I not only want to see what your writting style is like, but I also want to see what your character is like and what they bring to the table. This is a chance for you to show them off, so have fun with this. I'll be adding my sign up after I have atleast a few people showing interest. It you've followed me this far, thank you and I hope to see a sign up from you.

Man, oh man, this was way over Micheal's head, but he was not about to let anyone on board the ship know that. He clasped his two hands together and jutted his forefinger and middle finger straight out on both hands and brought it up to his face. He sat there and thought for a moment, trying to get a grasp on the situation. It seemed some people were not that thrilled with the idea of going to Mars, but it was still there best lead. Micheal rose from the captains chair "I'll be setting a course to Mars. Martel if you wouldn't mind using your ship to give us a hand til we can properly power this ship." She nodded and her and Micheal made there way off the bridge. While leaving Micheal turned back "Oh yes. Lance and Brash'una." They both turned to face Micheal "I'd like to speak with both of you later, if you don't mind? I'll see you in my quarters in about an hour." The two looked and nodded to him as he and Martel made there way out. Micheal and Martel walked down the main corridor in the direction of the docking bay "Thanks for all your help back there. We would've been fried if you hadn't bailed us out." Martel bowed her head lightly "Really, it was nothing. Just trying to help out my new friends." Micheal smiled as they enterd the almost cavernous supply bay "Be that as it may, I still offer my gratitude for all you've done and all you might do for us." Micheal looked into the vast, empty, and some what dark space "You know it was only by chance that I even landed on Nightside. If I hadn't run out of energy and had no other choice I would have spent the rest of my life avoiding it. I don't know if that's cowardly of me or not, but I've always feared returning to my birthplace for some reason." Martel just looked at him oddly for a moment "What brought this on? Your suddenly confiding in me." Micheal laughed "I'm not sure. It's just that..." He trailed off and he feel back into thought. This probably wasn't the best time to just come out in the open. There was already so much going on for everyone. Did he really need to just put more crap out there for everyone. He looked to Martel again "It's that girl, Loreley. Something about her just set me off. From the first time I saw her on that shore line. There was something different about her. You know, beside the fact that she was naked." Martel laughed a little bit "Is that all your worried about?" Micheal just smiled and shook his head "Yeah, it's kinda stupid isn't. Alright, back to the matter at hand. Like I said, I appreciate your help, but we can't rely on your slipstream forever. This is a big ship and hauling it around is gonna start to take it's affect. We're gonna have to find a way to charge this baby up to full some where along the way." Martel sighed and looked up to the ceiling "Do you know of any good stations along the war where we might be able to get ahold of at least 10 more fuel rods?" Micheal shook his head "Not on the way to Mars. At least none I'd be welcomed at. I haven't done the best job of making friends in my life. Starting come back and bite me in the ass now." Martel sighed "Well, I guess we could just head a course and hit the first station we find. It's better than nothing, right?" Micheal sighed "Worth a shot I guess." The two nodded to each other and left the supply bay. Martel headed off on her own and Micheal did the same. On his way down the corridor he saw a girl he did't recognize wandering about. This wasn't too much of a shock since he had gone from crew of one to crew of many in only a few hours, but still. Putting this out of his mind for the moment he made his way back to his own quarters for a little peace and quiet until Lance and Brash'una came to see him.
-
Micheal retreated into his ship along with Lorely, the new girl, and Okryuu who had happend to follow them back on board. Micheal enterd the bridge and got on the radio system "Copy that, Martel. Thanks for fixing the old girl up for me while we took care of the problem outside. All systems showing green. I going to boot up the ether drive engine and accent." Martel came over the radio waves again "Copy. Who's with you?" "I have a new girl, Lorely, and Okryuu with me here. Lance and Brash'una are taking the ship they arrived in and will be meeting up with us once we break the stratosphere." The powerful engines droned and roared as they came back to life once again. The nose end boosters let out a small burst to tip the front of the ship skyward. with that Micheal leaned down on the rear thrusters and started to slowly lift the ship from the water and move slowly upward. The door to the bridge opend and in poked Lorely and Okryuu. Micheal looked to the both of them "Okryuu I'm gonna need a favor. This ship is too big for me to get it off the ground alone. I'm gonna need you to keep an eye on the stabilizers and engine out put. Can you do that for me?" Okryuu nodded and ran to the chair just to the right of where Micheal was seated. Lorely spoke up "What about me?" Micheal looked back at her. He wasn't sure what she could do, since she obviously didn't know much about the ship or how to fly it. Micheal pointed to the front of the bridge "Take the front gunnery seat. If any Vamtyr start coming at us, just line up out sights and open fire." She nodded and ran up front and took her seat. Micheal turned to Okryuu "I need an increase of out put for engines 1 and 4 by 12%." "Okay!" Micheal kicked on the radio system "Martel, bunker onto my ship. I'm gonna make a jump to ether space and break the atmosphere." There was radio silence for a moment. Then Martel finally responded after what seemed like forever, even though it was probably only a second or two "Are you crazy? If you take a jump inside the atmosphere and your calculations are even just a tiny bit off you could launch us straight to and through the moon." Micheal responded "Yeah, I know, but we've already got those damn metal bastards closing in on us. If we don't jump now were not getting off this rock." The radio went silent for another second "Okay, I'll prep myself. You better not get us killed!" Micheal chuckled a bit and cut the radio. He looked back to Okryuu "Bring engine 5 to maximum output and bring all 4 remaining engines down to 25%." The ship began to rattle violently. Micheal aligned the ship with a 30 degree incline as Martel came along side. Micheal took the controls into his hands and slamed the throttle down "God I hope this works."

This little pit stop of Micheals was turning into quite the little excursion. He came to this planet alone, but now he was well on his way to forming his own crew. First was that Lorely girl, the Okryuu, who was surprisingly bold, then Martel showed up, next the lion man Lance and Ash'tar Brash'una. Sure it was kind of a misfit crew, but hell, far be it for Micheal to complain about it. Brash'una had expressed quite and interest in the ship, so Micheal lead him around and explained to him what was wrong and what needed to be fixed before it was ready to go. It was shortly after Micheal finished he heard Brash'una calling out to Lance, who was clearly no where near them. Micheal looked back to see Brash'una speaking into a some kind of bracelet on his wrist. It seemed that Lance had wanderd off some where which probably wasn't the best idea, but he sounded like he was well enough. He said he was on his way back, so Micheal didn't give it another thought. It was only a few minutes later that there was another reaction from the bracelet and an unfamilar, some what inhuman sounding voice came back over. The voice beaconed that Lance was in danger. More Vamtyr. Brash'una turned and immediatly ran, Micheal followed suit and ran with him. Brash'una looked back "Don't get in the way human!" Micheal wasn't that thrilled with the tone in his voice, but he had a hard time arguing with him over it. Lance and Brash'una were physically on a whole other level and there was no way he could even match up on his own. Micheal opted to simply say nothing. He just drew his hand gun and loaded a 50.caliber clip. As the two reached the air lock door they heard a thunderous roar, it was obviously Lance calling out. Brash'una jumped down to the beach, nearly twenty feet down onto the sand. Micheal had to climb his way down and as such was left behind by Brash'una. Micheal jumped down once he was about half way down. He quickly ran around the front of the ship and could see Brash'una running off in the distance. Micheal could just make out what looked like more of those damn metal heads in the distance.

The one named Sage had just relieved Virgil from his post on guard. Unfortunatley he still couldn't calm himself enough to rest easy. Too much was happening too fast. He could feel the impending danger all around them. Whats worse is that he's not even sure what that danger really is. It's like waiting for a blade for fall on to your neck. The cool night air and the stary sky above could usually calm him, but tonight they offerd no comfort. Virgil could hear Sage and Rain speaking. Virgil was aware of there voices but he wasn't really listening to them. They were going on about healing or something like that. Virgil layed down on one side and rolled over. He could see that naked girl lying on the ground, still wrapped in that cloak Rain had kicked herself out of. If nothingelse she seemed to be a deep sleeper. Why was is it that she botherd him so much? It was as this thought crossed his mind that he became aware of the fact that he still hadn't seen Kerrian all night. He felt well enough to trust Sage, Rain, and even Milo a little bit, but something about Kerrian put him on edge. Maybe it was just that fact that he was trying to be a loner in a team. Whatever the case maybe, it didn't change that fact that Virgil couldn't get to sleep. He rolled to his back and looked straight up into the night sky. He closed his eyes and simply hoped for peace, knowing it probably wouldn't come.
-
This was all happening rather quickly. All Micheal wanted was to buy some new fuel rods for his ship. Now he was sitting in some strange kind of car with this random guy who just happend to show up at just the right time and this girl who was completely nude. No matter how far they seemed to go, the vamtyr never seemed to stop coming. Micheal was starting to understand why they call this a vamtyr planet. As the attack seemed to be subsiding, Micheal looked to Okryuu "So what lead someone like you all the way out here to help out a couple of strangers" The man sitting at the steering wheel of the car turned to Micheal "You needed help. And those damn vamtyr were all over you." Micheal turned and looked out toward the plains in front of them "So your just a good samaritan, eh? Whatever. I'm grateful all the same. If you hadn't showed up I have no idea what I would have done." Okryuu smiled a bit. As they drove on something caught the corner of Micheals' eye. Micheal turned to look and saw a weird capsule shaped ship that he hadn't noticed earlier, but at this point he wasn't willing to have Okryuu stop the ship so they could check it out. If there really was a major city near by, then Micheal needed to get there soon so he could get back up and off this hell hole planet. Micheal wasn't ready to get involved in some battle on this planet. He suddenly became aware of a hand on his shoulder. Micheal turned around and the saw the naked girl with her hand on him and just smiling away at him "Thank you." Micheal was a bit shocked at first, but he quickly compossed himself again and returned a light smile to her. He turned back around and looked back to the open plains of this planet and thought to himself 'is there really a city way the hell out here?'

He's kinda pale due to his lack of sun, since he spend so much time playing games. Crossover Experience: He's been into the game for about 2 years now. He's really deeply involved in the game and really has very few friends outside the game. He's more than happy to engage himself in every conceivable kind of task. Bounty hunting, inn keeping, and even just wandering. Since the game has no limits, he sets none for himself. He does every kind of task he can. Personality: He's a good guy, but he prefers virtual world to the real one. Something about the real world bores him. The thrill of this illussionary world draws him in. He has allowed his life to be absorbed into it and he is all to proud and happy about the fact. After all, the real world is a boring and pathetic world. While he may not be very outgoing in the real world, in the game world he is all to eager to make new friends and experience new things. Even if he has to force himself on them. This also means there are quite a few people who don't like him, some who even fight with him almost every time they see him. But he does have friends and he is a good friend. Even if a little annoying at times. Etheria: Predator: A large griffon that Tommy has had for as long as he has been in the game. He was one of the first two he picked, and he's never been able to part ways with him. Predator is a very proud and always holds his head high and chest out. He hates retreating and prefers to stay and fight. Not only is he able to fly and even carry Tommy, he is also able to create fire from both his mouth and his wings. Sea Martr: The newest addition to his Etheria ranks. Despite his appearance he is really quite timid. He is strong, but he just doesn't have that fighting spirit. Needless to say he has powers over water and ice.

After days of simply drifting through space, Micheal and his ship came tearing through the atmosphere of Nightside. Micheal had been sleeping through much of the trip. The sudden shock of the ship breaking the atmosphereic barrier however had managed to jog his lazy ass up. Looking out, he could see he was coming down just how he wanted to. Right on the water. He took his place at the helm of the ship and pulled up on the controls, turning the nose up and slowing his decent. He could see the glow of hot, burning flames as he broke through. Since he had neither fuel nor much experience with this kind of landing his decided technique was, wing it and pray alot. It seemed like it was taking forever, even though he knew in reality it was only a few short minutes to the planets surface, even from this height. When he finally hit the water he hit it with a force that almost completely submerged the ship. Fortunately the boyancy of the hull mangaed to bring it back up. Things seemed to have worked out in his favor. He could see the shore line from where he was. He used the camera to zoom in on the shoreline to see if he could see where any other ships might be set up. He would need to find one if he was going to borrow some fuel so he could get back off the planet. But as he took a close look at the planet he noticed he could see someone on the shoreline waving at him. It was a woman. Unfortunatly there was nothing else around her. Maybe she was one of those nomads who still lived on this cursed planet. Micheal was certainly curious, but first he had to work out how he was gonna make it all the way to shore. Sure he could see it, but it was at least a kilometer off. That was a hell of a way off and he was in no mood to swim quite that far. He tried seeing if he couldn't just get a little push from the engine to get him to shore, but it didn't seem to be working. He was moving but not that quickly. Suddenly there was a burst and the ship lunged forward out of the blue. It seemed like a stroke of good luck. Now he was definitly close enough to reach land. He jumped up from the pilots seat and left the cockpit in a hurry, heading for the air lock. He popped the large metal door open and looked out over this alien world. He may have been born here, but he had no memories of this ever being his home. He may as well have been on jupiter for as familiar with it as he was. He jupmed down from the air lock door into what was waist deep water. The girl on the shore line ran over toward him excitedly. This excitement wasn't long lasted, when Micheal was confronted with the last thing he really wanted to see. Just beyond the rocks of the shore line, there it was. It's twisted, black metal body and those ominous red eyes, a vamtyr. Micheal drew his handgun and pointed just beyond the girl, shouting "Get down!" The girl was startled by the sight of his gun and ducked without bothering to turn around. Micheal popped off three rounds at it's head. The monster let out a shriek and Micheal popped it twice more at the weaker joints in it's neck. The metal mostroscity flopped over from the rock and landed on the sands, not moving. This was a bad start.

Virgil was sitting by the fire and calmly trying to go over everything that had just happend in his head. He was filled with a sense of guilt about what happend in town. He felt that if he had reacted at the very moment he heard the voices in the alley this may have been preventable. What made the fact worse was that now he could clearly look up and see the horrible red star in the night sky. Why had it appeared to him now? Did it mean someone had found the valley? If so, then blood would soon fill the streets of all cities. Tragedy would befall the world. This was all getting to be too much for him. He wasn't ready to handle something like this. Was it because Rain had appeared? From what he had heard she was definitly something to be cuvitated, and a great source of good in this world. But for every great good, the world must balance wtih an equally great evil. It was at this moment that Virgil heard a loud scream coming from the forest. Virgil then became aware of the fact that Milo was gone. She must have wonderd off into the woods. Virgil grabbed his sword and charged in to find her. Of course, he found her standing naked in the woods, with a rather angry looking bear stumbling towards her. Virgil jumped forward and slammed the butt of his sword. There was a loud roar from the animal as Virgil looked over to Milo "You can't help but always be in some kind of trouble, can you?" The beast turned around and was met with the tip of Virgils sword. Virgil didn't want to kill it, so he used a quick jab to the nose to cause it pass out. He then sheathed his blade and walked over the nude, and for some reason, wet and smelly woman "Maybe you should try to remember that this is the forest and we are being hunted by things alot scarier then this dumb bear." For some reason he couldn't help but be mean to her. Maybe it had to do with that tattoo she had. He doubted she even knew what it meant, but it with all that was happening, the very sight of it was upetting.

There was too much unrest for Virgil to sleep well. First there was that incident earlier in town, then this girl asked him to join her, and now the star. Virgil rolled from his bed and decided to keephimself busy. No sense in lying in bed when you can't sleep. He thought perhaps he could pick up his clothes from the cleaners if he left now. Not wanting to be spotted on his way out, Virgil jumped from the second story window and headed the few doors down to the cleaners. He walked in, surprised to see there was anyone still working here. It was a much younger looking man working the desk this time. He appeared to be in better shape then the older gentleman earlier, but seemed surprisingly alert for it being so late and all. The man gave him a bow "Welcome, sir. What can I do for you?" Virgil looked toward the back room to see if he could spot his clothes from the desk "Yes, I dropped off a blue jacket with white shirt and vest, along with a set of plue pants as well. You wouldn't happen to know if there finished yet?" The man knealt down and brought up Virgils clothing "You mean these things? I was wondering who these belonged to. They seemed to nice for someone to just be dropping off though." Virgil simply gave his thanks, collected his things, returned the robes he had been lended and left the store in a hurry. His mind was still not quite at rest for what had happend. It was at this time that Virgil became aware of another voice on dark street. Virgil stopped walking and stood perfectly still for a moment, trying to listen to the other voice "Are they here?" It seemed unimportant but soemthing about the nights event was making Virgil a bit paranoid. A second voice responded, this one was clearly a womans voice "Yes. There nearby." Virgil was beginging to feel more and more on edge. Like he was being watched. The mans voice returned "Then what do we do?" Was there some kind of plan in place "Give it time. We'll get the signal soon." "Is it gonna be a fire?" "On the north side. Keep your eyes focused on the sky and let us know when you se the light." Virgil had heard enough. They may not have said anything really, but they sounded like they had something planned. Virgil continued down the road to go back to the inn so he could retrieve his sword. He didn't want to stir up trouble, but now he was going to have to remain more vigilent "Look to the north." He said to himself over and over again as he walked back.

This was an awful lot to mull over in just a few moments. Virgil looked straight into the young girls eyes. She seemed kind and trustworthy, but it wasn't always in his nature to be trusting. He gave the floating creature another look and for some reason he felt like he was being reassured by this small creature. Virgil looked to the girl, Rain, again and extended his hand to her "Very well. I'll be happy to help you. I can be ready to go by morning." The girl smiled wide and gave another bow "Thank you very much, sir." Virgil bowed back and turned to leave and return to his room. It was only now that he rememberd how tired he was. It had been over day since the last time he had slept. And over a week since he had slept in a bed. He might as well make the best of it. When Virgil got back to his room, it was almost cold with the blowing night air. He walked over to the open window to close it before going down for the night. As he approached the window he looked out to stary night sky one more time to sooth himself once more. But when he looked up he saw something that chilled him. In a night's sky filled with white stars, there on the horizon he could see a star that blazed a crimson red. His mother had always spoken of meggido's star. The first sign of tragedy. Appearing to those on the brink of true terror and horror. He always thought it was just a story. A fairy tale meant to scare children straight. Between this and that girl from this afternoon, Virgil feared for the future of not just himself, but all others.
-
After finishing his shower, Virgil stood at the window to his room and stared out into the night sky. Something about the stars at night calmed him. The was a knock at the door. Virgil turned "Yes." The door opend and behind it was a young boy with short cut brown hair "Would you come with me? Your needed down stairs." Virgil was a bit puzzled by the sudden intrusion, seeing as he didn't know anyone here. Perhaps it was someone coming to tlak about the incient from earlier that day. Virgil walked over toward the boy "And what does this concern exactly?" The boy sighed, like this was some kind of chore for him "Just please come. Everything will be explained once we get you down stairs." Virgil shrugged his shoulders "Can I get your name then?" The boy let out another annoyed sigh "It's Zaden. Now please come." The boy was rude, but still very insistent. So, Virgil decided he should go, since it obviously meant alot to the boy. Virgil picked up his sword and followed the boy down stairs. The halls were particularly quiet, but Virgil could hear a few voices coming from below. When they reached the bottom of the stairs Zaden quickly made his way toward a door at the base and opened it up "I found him." he proclaimed as he then stood to one side so VIrgil might enter. Virgil took caution as he walked through the door, checking to make sure this wasn't some kind of set up. There was a young girl in the room with a strange white bird like creature beside her. There was another young boy beside Zaden, who had blonde hair and looked alot like Zaden. Maybe a brother, Virgil thought to himself. But he was much more interested in the girl and her odd looking beast. Virgil looked to Zaden who then pointed to the young girl. Virgil, always wanting to be the perfect gentlemen, walked over to the young girl "Hello, ma'am. My name is Virgil. I was told you wanted to see me."

He has a fine muscular tone and is in great physical shape for a human. Personality: Thomas is the duty bound type. He feels like it's his reponsiblity to see the well being of others. He has deep rooted sense of integrity and does only what he believes to be right. In which, he is also rather beligerent in his beliefs. He is not one to easily turn from his ways. Occupation: Army OIC (Officer in Charge). Rank: Major Backstory& Abilities: Thomas was born, like most those in the military, into the military. His father was colonel in the army, even his mother served in the navy. He was raised in the hopes that he would some day be in the military just like them. His father was always hoping he too would one day be the commander of a combat brigade like he was. While this is still his goal, he has yet to realize it. His station aboard the new prototype ship was the push he was hoping would lead to a higher command position. When the attack came down on Kyoto III, this plan obviously changed. Thomas had never expected to have to go to battle so quickly. Let alone with so many civilian refugees. This was no longer a promotion post, this was about keeping these people alive and getting this ship to safety. Being an officer of the military Thomas is not only combat trained, but is also highly educated in both emergency medical treatment and foreign languages. He is able to speak and write in all ally alien nations native languages. He also has a loose grasp on the wuvhan's native language. Thomas is also capable of piloting small combat fighters.

Just when it appeared this woman was going to start trouble, she suddenly feel over. Virgil walked over to the oily, nude woman to find that she seemed to have fallen over in her druken stupor. And not a moment too soon, either. A formally dressed man walked over to Virgil and the now unconscious nude girl and demanded to know what was going on. He was obviously some kind of authority figure for this small town. Virgil sheathed his sword quickly "My apologies, sir. It was a simple disagreement between myself and this woman." he said pointing to the naked woman on the ground "She may have started it, but I shouldn't have encouraged it by drawing my sword. You have my deepest apologies, sir." The man seemed a bit taken back by the fact that Virgil was so quick to calm and to apologize. Though he also seemed relieved by it all. Virgil began to notice the rather large crowd that had gatherd around them. He took one more look to the woman on the ground. He had wanted to ask her about the tattoo, but it seemed like it was too late for that. A woman from the crowd stepped forth and pleaded on her behalf, but Virgil didn't stay for all that. He returned inside the building and again apologized to the inn keeper and requested a room. He considered himself very fortunate that they were still willing to let him stay. As long as he had use of a room, he decided to take this time to make himself a bath to clean off. That oily woman had made a terrible mess of him, so he felt like taking a warm bath to rinse it all off. This was not the start he had been hoping for here. He only hoped that nothing else like that would happen again before he left.

If everyone is so worried about whether or not hot girls are into nerdy guys, just do what I did and find a cute, nerdy girl and your set. They do exist, I promise they do. I found one and you can too.

This woman was making a scene, as well as a mockery of Virgil in full public. She was even going so far as to try and draw his attention off with some lewd act she was performing with some male escort. Virgil had decided that he had seen enough. He stood up and rolled the two off the bar and back behind it with one firm push. The girl jumped back up from behind the bar "What the hell is your problem, you pompous ass hole!" Virgil stared at the still nude woman, as the man stumbled off, probably not wanting to get involved in this ugly situation. Virgil reached down to the ground and threw the girls clothes at her "Cover up! Your disgracing yourself and more importantly me!" The woman put her jacket back on, turning pure beet red. She reached down and put the skirt back on "If you got a problem with the way I do things then why don't you just say it!" Virgil didn't respond and simply turned to leave the tavern, but he could her that woman still yelling and following him, her jacket still open at the bottom. Virgil turned back to look to her. It was at this time that he noticed the tattoo. But surely she didn't know what it meant. Not that it matterd, it wasn't any business of his. As he left the tavern he heard the sound of metal. He turned around and the woman now had a pair of large knives in her hands "You just gonna walk away you punk?" Virgil turned about, still clutching his sword in his left hand, reaching for the hilt with his right. He took up stance, preparing to fight this woman off. Now he was praying that tattoo wasn't real. Virgil looked eyes with her "I don't want to hurt you, but I won't stand by and let you attack me." She just smirked back "Your a chatty punk!"

Virgil stumbled out of the forest around what seemed to be noon. Though he wasn't certain. It had been three days since he had been through any towns. He had been chasing a pack of bandits trhough the woods, but had lost them a day earlier. Since he had arrived at this small town and it was obviously not in ruin, it meant they probably didn't come this way. So, instead of taking back to the forest to continue on with a cold pursuit, he decided to simply stay the night in this quiet little burg. Both him and his rather formal clothes were filthy. He was in desperate need of a room and a good cleaner for his clothing. He marched into the town, his sword clutched tightly in his left hand. The eyes of the towns people were turning to him as he walked through the open streets. He continued, undistracted by the endless stares, til he came upon a small shop with a rather decrepit looking sign that read "Milligan's Cleaner". Virgil walked through the door and was greeted by a round man with a rather unkempt appearance "Welcome sir. How might I be helpin you today?" He seemed polite, but his appearance left much room for doubt in whether or not he could ge the job done, but it was the best he could do. Virgil addressed the man "I need my clothes cleaned and treated. I'll also be needing a change of clothes til you finish with those." The man nodded with a large smile across his face "Sure can do there, sir." The man then knelled down behind the desk. When he stood back up he set down a black robe and a set of rather worn looking work pants "I'm afraid this is all I have in the way of extra clothes. They may not look like much, but I promise 'ya there plenty comfortable." Virgil sighed and nodded. He went to a back room to change into the drab attire he had been given and left his dirty clothes in a hamper. The man behind the desk said they'd be ready by tomorrow morning. Not left with much choice, Virgil nodded and made his way back out into the streets. One good thing about the change in clothes, he was getting alot less stares now. Dressing like a nobel was bound to draw attention. Now came the problem of taking care of himself now that his clothes were being treated. This town had to have a tavern or an inn he could stay at for a night or two. Sure enough, not a block from the cleaners was a small tavern witha sign hanging over head that read "Dulzan's Tavern." It seemed like a good place for a quick rest. Virgil, with his commanding presense, stepped through the doors of the quiet little tavern and imidiately had the attention of everyone in the building. After looking him over for a minute, the people of the tavern returned to there business. Virgil had a bad tendency to be anything but descrerit. He walked to the bar and orderd a drink and a something to eat. The old man behind the bar through him a stale ale, and a questionable looking piece of meat. Virgil shrugged it off and took a bite of the meat and chug of the ale. This was gonna be a long stay.
