And here I'm rather fond of being part of the Dessy FanClub and tormenting the EVIL CEO of Wally World (also known as Gavin) on the side. Much more amusing than sitting on the outside. :3 Does it matter? Not really. I do it because it's entertaining. Why else?

Brought to Light Of all the people for Nathan to send to their aid, why the hell did it have to be Gavrie and Karl? It was bad enough that they had gotten themselves trapped in the first place, but the thought of being lectured by those two was enough to make Adrian wish he could just slink off and hide somewhere. He couldnâ??t though; his screw-up had gotten them in a lot of trouble. -It wasnâ??t just you Adrian.- Adrian didnâ??t bother to reply. More than anything he wanted to know what Gavrie was saying to Karl, but he didnâ??t dare get close enough to eavesdrop as they made their way back home. Gavrie was acting calm, but Adrian was getting the impression that he was furious. He wanted to say something, but couldnâ??t bring himself to do so, even when they got a message from Lucia shortly before they got back to the city. Adrian just showed Gavrie the message when asked and nodded when Gavrie indicated they should all go there immediately. -Stop blaming yourself Adrian.- Astera admonished him. -Thereâ??s no way you could have known what would happen.- Adrian just sighed and made for Luciaâ??s place with the others. He was unsurprised to realize that Nathan, Isen and Chris were already there, waiting for them. Nathan was leaning up against one of the walls with Isen to the other side while Chris was perched on one of the odd chairs in Luciaâ??s main room. There was something odd about Nathan and it took Adrian a moment to realize that his right hand was wrapped up in what looked like one of Chrisâ??s bandages that she wore. Adrian hadnâ??t seen that before so it had to have happened when the two stopped whoever was coming to aid the vampires that had ambushed them. He was momentarily distracted when Gavrie took a moment to introduce himself to Lucia and Ruby when she bluntly asked him who he was. Adrian glanced back at Nathan who was calmly watching. â??What the hell happened to your hand?â? He asked without thinking, interrupting Lucia who glared briefly at him. Nathan just grinned and said, â??Oh nothing.â? â??He punched a comet.â? Chris corrected him. â??Oi, donâ??t be telling tales.â? Chrisâ??s eyes narrowed and she reached over and poked Nathan in the side, hard. He jumped, shying away, and gave her a reproachful look. â??Hey! Is that any way to treat someone whoâ??s hurt?â? Chris grinned. â??What was that little brother?â? Nathan mumbled something that sounded like oh nothing before grinning back, eliciting a laugh from Chris. â??Right,â? Lucia muttered, taking over again. â??Anyway, I wanted to ask you all about this.â? She had her screen on and replayed the news of the F5 tornado in Nevada. â??Considering that there was no storm in the area and I picked up powerful magic coming from that direction, perhaps you all can explain just what the hell happened.â? She crossed her arms across her chest and stared directly at Nathan, as if it was his fault. â??We had nothing to do with that,â? Adrian answered her. â??It was Chris and her familiar,â? Sarvel interjected. â??How can you tell?â? Lucia asked her. Sarvel tilted her head a bit. â??Because I could feel it. The aura from the magic matches.â? Lucia looked to Phaidra who nodded, and then to Chris, who just grinned and said nothing, reminding Adrian of Nathan once again. â??Fine, what happened, start from the beginning.â? Lucia demanded. It took a moment, since all three started at the same time and then settled on first Phaidra, then Alex and Adrian explaining. Adrian didnâ??t miss the slight change in Nathanâ??s and Gavrieâ??s expression when Alex and he both mentioned that they felt like the vampires had been toying with them. The only thing Adrian didnâ??t know was if it was for sport, to wear them down before doing them in, or for some other purpose. Neither one was a pleasant thought, though the second one was far more disturbing. Regardless, the whole thing bothered him, a lot. â??I see,â? Lucia finally said when they were done. She turned to her computer and pulled something else up. â??I also picked up part of a transmission from the same area. Thereâ??s not much to it since it kept breaking up.â? She played the parts where one could clearly hear what sounded like â??Daah Reeseâ? or â??The Dah Reese.â? â??Hunh,â? Alexâ??s eyebrows furrowed. â??Why does that seem like I should know what it is?â? Adrian had to agree, it did seem oddly familiar for some reason, but he couldnâ??t place it either. He turned to look at Nathan, but his expression was neutral. He looked back at the others as they speculated over what it meant. He was still attempting to place it when he overheard Gavrie talking softly to Nathan, a bit of an edge to his voice. â??Iâ??d like a word with you Nathan, alone if you donâ??t mind.â? Adrian turned in time to see Nathan nod before moving to say something to Chris. â??Iâ??ll be back in a bit Karl, keep Adrian and Astera company if you donâ??t mind.â? Karl snickered at Adrianâ??s pained looked before answering Gavrie affirmatively. Adrian stifled a groan as he watched Nathan and Gavrie leave, unless he was lucky and the rest of the group hung out for a bit to discuss things, heâ??d end up being stuck with Karl until Gavrie got back. He tried to hide his irritation, but from the look in Karlâ??s eyes, he knew he was fooling no one.

Unspoken Memories It had been a while since Gavrie and Karl had been sent on an extraction mission. Not that he had a problem with it, his own tasks could wait, for now. He'd grill Nathan over the particulars later. Getting the kids out of that mess was more important and upon approaching the location, it was clear that they were still in trouble. He could sense ten vampires in the immediate area, one was casting magic, and it felt like they were assaulting shields. Gavrie turned and glanced at Karl, a plan already forming in his mind, he would take care of the magic user while Karl joined the others. He could feel Isen's aura near them, but by now they had to be exhausted. "Help the others," He said shortly before altering his flight path to intercept the vampires who were outside the room where the others were. He summoned his scythe, twirling it as it appeared to deploy the dual spiritual blades at each end. Gavrie gathered his energy, chanting under his breath as he made the appropriate symbols with his right hand. The moment he was through the walls, he let it loose. Gavrie smiled as the vampires turned to face him, the magic user barely had a chance to realize something was around him before Gavrie closed his hand in a fist. The force walls he had cast collapsed, crushing the vampire on the spot. With a feral grin, he rushed the remaining three, his staff already above his head as he spun it wildly, forcing them to hastily retreat. One wasn't quite fast enough and the tip of his blade tore through his shirt, leaving a red mark across his chest. Gavrie pulled back, his eyes widening slightly. What the hell? His expression hardened and he met the others rushing him in an attempt to take advantage of his slight hesitation. Suddenly furious, he met the rush with one of his own. ************************ Karl didn't need an explanation; Gavrie would deal with the magic while he assisted the others. There was some sort of barrier between him and the group and he made for the opening that he could sense. He called his blades forth and made for the two vampires outside a door leading down. The presence of one vampire who was on the floor in pieces, explained the caution of the two near the door. He wondered who had cut them in half. The remaining two whirled to face him and then pulled back in surprise. Karl grinned at their stunned expressions. They scattered to the sides in order to avoid his rush. With an expert flick of his left hand, he sent the one blade flying to slam into the wall, barely missing the retreating vampire. The unfortunate vampire ran into the chain connecting the two blades and stumbled. Before he could recover, Karl ran him through with the other blade. Karl grinned and yanked the blade free, allowing the body to collapse. He let his blades go and whirled, his right foot coming up to connect with the wrist of the other one attacking from behind. The force of the blow shattered his wrist and the vampire howled in pain as the blade clattered to the floor. He stumbled backwards and then turned to flee. He didn't get more than a few steps before Isen seemed to appear out of nowhere, neatly cutting the man in half. Karl smirked, that explained the other one and why the vampires were being cautious. He resisted the urge to grin and instead followed her as she headed back down the stairs after glancing in his direction. He didn't need to tell her that Gavrie was taking care of the rest, she would be able to feel it like he could. There were four more in the room with Adrian and the others, not including the ones who were dead. One of them looked like something large had snapped him in half. The door lying on the floor a little further in the room was the likely culprit. Karl glanced around and then made for the vampire closest to a woman with long dark hair. Karl glanced at Adrian and groaned inwardly. Training or not, he still was about as graceful as one of those large buses in heavy traffic. He sighed; he'd lecture the idiot once they got the hell out of there.

Ehh. Develepers could very easily cheapen a game by putting in sub-par features. Of course, I'm not arguing subjectivity of it, but players should not be held solely responsible for such a thing.
Of course, I'm certainly not trying to imply that only the players can be responsible. Obviously it has to go both ways, though I don't really see anything cheap about someone choosing to use a feature like that anyway. I would see it as cheap if the developers used it as an excuse to make stupidly hard games though. But that's been covered in here already.

But I suppose you won't be required to use the technology. It's just there as an option.
Bingo, so it's not like you actually have to use it.
I still feel like it will cheapen the game experience though.[/FONT']
How? The only one who can possibly cheapen it is the person who uses it and even then, not everyone is going to agree. I can easily see something like this making gaming more accessible to say people with physical handicaps like arthritis. Since I know some who avoid a huge percentage of games since those difficult moments often are beyond them physically. And I do mean that quite literally. As my aunt who has Rheumatoid arthritis puts it, it's too damn painful and takes the fun out of the game. So you could say it cheapens it, but I'm more inclined to think it's a smart move that opens up the playing field to even more people who enjoy games but got sick of either getting stuck, or being unable to do it. Bottom line, I could care less if they include it. Won't affect my game playing at all.

I think it's actually better that they picked someone with decent business experience and no knowledge of cars. You know, instead of someone who knows the ins and outs of the auto industry. They'll be more likely to try things that others would balk over since it has never been done that way before. Old school, or rather people well entrenched in how the industry works would be a mistake in my opinion. They haven't done a good job, obviously, so why pick someone else who is likely to make the same mistakes? Also, the only way to find out if they can actually do the job required is to give it a go. They already have plenty of experience in the field of business so that's sufficient really. If they can't handle it, then they can consider someone else.

I actually like the music to DNAngel. o_O I don't have it, but Darren does and it's got some really pretty piano parts in it. I really should see about getting my own copy of the soundtrack to that show. Oh and another plus, one of the male singers has a nice smooth voice. I like it, even if I can't tell what he's saying. It's that time of year again, for some of us, where the days are long and sunny and on the hot side. So when that comes up, I find that I tend to start picking up more of what I call summer foods. Stuff that is in season and is very refreshing on a hot day. Take watermelon for example, I love getting that and cutting it up into squares before stuffing it in the fridge. Then later on, it makes a wonderful chilled snack. It's especially good after I've just come in from being out in the heat. If I'm not really hungry but want to cool down, then in addition to ice water, I love fixing up iced lemonade. I also like to take cran-grape juice and freeze it into Popsicles. So what do you like to have when it's time for something cool and refreshing? =P

Sandwiches, the best thing made WITH sliced bread
Horendithas replied to Jabberwocky's topic in General Discussion
I like turkey on dill rye bread; with lettuce, tomato, green pepper and avocado slices with a bit of mayo. Though I also like grilled chicken, roast beef, ham and a number of other tasty sliced meat in the same type of deal. -
I think they should stop hiding stuff like this. Yes I wonder what kind of idiot takes pictures like that in the first place, but more importantly, those kind of things shouldn't be happening in the first place. They need to stop shoving it under the carpet under the guise of protecting whoever. Sure it's going to create a negative fall out, but in the long run I think hiding from that causes even more problems.
