You know I'm going to disagree with you Raiha. :D
Of course, the expedition is still set to depart that night. Since Leonhart isn't going it looks like Bavaria might take upon herself to sit in on this adventure. Oh dear.
I say yes. With Leonhart having a heart attack it would make sense that she would show up and try to control the trip. I mean you did indicate that she had a falling out with Leonhart and she would put something like the trip over staying by his side. I get the feeling she'd do that even if they were getting along. I say have her either show up last second so the others can't protest in time or be onboard and the others don't realize it until after they've already departed. Harrison doesn't like her either though he'd just avoid her as much as possible instead of pulling childish stunts like torching things. =P EDIT: And I have posted so have fun with it kids. Fastidious spelling snobs pushed over the edge

I'll admit that if something is really horrible, then it's just annoying. Not that I correct it, but if it's a personal blog, unless I really like the person, I'm more inclined to never bother with reading their updates. The way I see it is if the mistake is so obvious that even I can see it, it's bad. =P For everyday mistakes, the more simple kind that don't really interfere with your ability to understand what the person is getting at, those I just ignore. I'm guilty of those mistakes too. -

It's been a little boring around here lately, I think we should make a new game to get things interesting again. So, lets gets some ideas for games, shall we?
I would be more interested to see what the games actually are instead of voting for a paticular type. You've given options but are we going to be expected to come up with the actual game or do you already have one in mind?

I was planning on opening a thread on introducing people to anime... Good thing I dug the searches, and found this...
Actually when a thread is that old on a more general topic like this, it's usually best to start a new thread. =P So I went ahead and simply moved the new posts into a thread. If you want a different title just say so jomz and I'll edit it for you. Anyway, Anime has changed a lot in the past four to five years so I'm betting there are a lot more shows out that are ideal for introducing people to anime. I actually tend to use stuff like Case Closed and Fruits Basket to get people started on anime. They're both excellent shows and yet not too far out there. So far, everyone I've subjected to these shows, has enjoyed them and gone on to check out other stuff.

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]

I'm a tiny bit lost since I'm not quite to chapter 100 of 174.... *headdesk* This is what I get for putting it off. Not on purpose, but still, I hate being out of the loop. -
I have lots of dust under my bed. I need to pull everything out, move the bed and vacuum. In addition to the dust I have several boxes that are supposed to go under the bed. In one is my spare sheets. Another has some small throw blankets. Then I have one with some of my dvd's and older school books. And finally, one that literally has random stuff that I can't decide if I should throw it out or not. I need to go through that. He couldn?t explain how he knew the massive airship approaching was Dawlish. Nor could Harrison explain why he couldn?t seem to bring himself to move from his spot out on one of the many decks of the Alaina. Like some insubstantial mist that hung in the air, he could tell that some form of stupid drama would occur and later, hearing the sound of his Nephew yelling only confirmed that feeling. Later on, if he got the chance, he wanted to talk to Dawlish, but right now he couldn?t seem to muster up the will to go back into the reception area. Knowing Fonty, he?ll try to set me up for a dance with that Liana girl. For all he knew, Macey or any of the others might do the same. It was bad enough that there wasn?t any decent food to be had, but to have to dance too? He couldn?t help but sigh. Probably the only one who wouldn?t was Alecia, but then she was too busy keeping an eye on Daedalus Thomas, who was blissfully unaware of the drama going on as he ran about with that carefree expression of glee only a child could have. It was both annoying and yet funny to watch him getting into mischief. Harrison had planned on talking to Alecia since he hadn?t seen her or Alexander in a while, but the opportunity hadn?t presented itself. ?There you are.? The voice pulled him out of his musings and back to where he was. A quick glance showed it to be Dawlish approaching. Harrison just turned back to watching the horizon and incidentally the airship his brother had come in. Unlike the Alaina, it certainly aroused his curiosity. Perhaps one of these days he?d get to check it out. He gazed at it a bit more before he turned and with an inward sigh, finally answered his brother. ?You know how it is,? He said. ?I hate parties.? He looked at Dawlish who grinned slightly. In spite of the carefree manner he seemed to air, it seemed to Harrison that he was keeping himself closely guarded. He couldn?t explain it; it was more of a feeling than anything else. He supposed it was due to his profession, something he still didn?t understand and honestly didn?t want to. ?Some things never change little brother.? ?I suppose that?s your way of saying you haven?t given up on asking me to leave the military to work for Icarus.? Harrison skipped straight to the point he was sure Dawlish was going to make, his eyes narrowing slightly as if to dare him to say otherwise. ?Well we never did get a chance to fully discuss what I had in mind.? He motioned with his right hand as if inviting Harrison to walk along the deck as they talked. Harrison obliged him, clasping his hands behind his back as he followed along. ?What?s there to discuss? I thought I was pretty clear when I said I wanted to stay in the military. If I had left and changed my mind, commission or not, I would have had to wait until I was eighteen to return.? ?What if what I had in mind would tie in with the military? What then?? Harrison shot him a puzzled glance, uncertain as to what he was getting at. Sure he knew that part of the reason Dawlish was making so much money was from selling weapons to the military of many nations. It wouldn?t surprise him to learn that he was one of, if not the richest man in all of Czenovia and Anova. How that tied in to the military for him though didn?t quite make any sense, and he waited for Dawlish to elaborate further as to what he meant. ?It?s really quite simple Harrison; you?d be working with our research and development team.? ?I don?t know anything about developing weapons,? he protested. ?Oh really? Think about it, you?ve been serving in the 2nd Air fleet for nearly three years now. Unlike a consultant you actually know what a soldier wants and needs.? ?I guess.? He mumbled back, still not completely convinced. ?I still have very little experience and you know damn well others would think you did that just because I?m your brother.? ?You really think so?? Dawlish?s expression turned more serious. ?I?ve done a little checking into how you?ve been doing Harrison. Top marks in your training in addition to being on track for a promotion to 1st Lieutenant when you turn eighteen. Family connection or not, they don?t do that if one isn?t capable or hasn?t worked hard to earn it.? Harrison stopped walking, too startled to think for a moment. How did he know about the promotion? He flushed slightly, feeling really stupid that it had even surprised him. They may be brothers, but he should have known better than to think Dawlish would simply toss him some shallow meaningless job. ?I still don?t know enough.? The protest felt a bit hollow, even though he already knew he wasn?t going to leave the 2nd Air Fleet. He liked being in the military. Dawlish started walking again, ?Of course not, like any other job there would be a transition period in which you would receive training. I?ve no doubts that you?d excel at it.? So it came down to this?. again. He didn?t want to leave the military, he didn?t want to be around Dawlish and yet at the same time, it bugged him how that seemed to hurt his brother. He couldn?t seem to help it though, being around Dawlish made him feel ill at ease. He was sure the duel was why. The memory of that still troubled him. Differences or not, arguments or not, he couldn?t seem to see past that moment. In some ways it was more sickening than the revolution had been. ?Dawlish,? he started to say hesitantly and then faltered, not sure how to say it but Dawlish seemed to understand it as he just gave him a tiny smile and grasped his shoulder. ?It?s alright Harrison; I can tell you?re not ready yet.? He let go. ?We can discuss it again after you turn eighteen and that promotion goes through.? Harrison just nodded; he doubted he?d feel any different though. It had been a year since the last time they had talked about it and yet his feelings of reluctance had not changed at all, if anything, he was surer of his decision to stay in the military. ?Let?s get back to the party before someone comes looking for us.? Harrison grimaced, ?No thanks, I?m going to stay out here.? ?No buts Harrison,? Dawlish said firmly as he grabbed a hold of his tunic. ?What did I teach you about responsibility?? He grinned at his dumbfounded expression, knowing full well that Harrison would have never expected him to pull that one on him. ?You don?t get to hide from social functions and you know it. It?s more than just family, as an officer, you should know better.? His smile at Harrison?s irritation grew wider. ?Unless you?d rather I let the Fleet Admiral know you neglected to wear your dress uniform.? Harrison was speechless for a moment before he sputtered and then cursed colorfully as he let Dawlish lead him back to the reception. God damn stupid?.

I'll leave the critiquing to Mr. Morphy since he does it better (that and I'm lazy). =P Now as for my opinion on this, besides being glad to see something besides the usual smut or OB fanfiction... is that it's a nice refreshing change from what I'm used to seeing in here. By used to, aside from the aforementioned, I mean fanfictions of anime or poetry, etc. It's an interesting concept and I'm curious to see where you go with it since I found it entertaining to read. I'm sure it will have its moments, but I'm hoping the thread of hope running through it is played out instead of it turning into the catcher giving up at one point.

How about we just say "people react differently to things" and call it a day? :animesmil
The only problem with that is people are just stating what they think, based on the thread's topic. So if we call it a day, it makes the thread redundant doesn't it? Also, people have been saying... it will vary for others so...

Malkav, you're a silly one. I guess you missed it, but you posted here in the backstage instead of in the main thread. :blulaugh: And since this isn't the place (snerks at the pun that the Utahan's will get) I went ahead and just moved the post. Anyway... I do have a post I want to get up, but it can be a reflective or flashback moment. So no need to wait on that if Shy is planning on getting us moving. Heh.

Since the I'm in my pants joke is stale and old, I'll move straight to what's in my pockets. Usually, other than some keys and change I don't carry things in my pockets. I have a little wallet that I'll slip in if I'm out on the town. Since I only need my ID and a few other things. I really hate carrying a purse of any kind. When I go to school, that ends up stuffed into my backpack and I'm back to the keys and perhaps some change. Oh and I don't have any problem with my pants having real pockets. I guess it just depends on what brand you get. If the pockets are too small or fake, I don't care how nice it looks. I don't buy it.

Although I have never cried from any fictional scene, I can easily see why someone would, so I don't find the reasoning silly.
I usually don't either. I say usually because more real life stories will choke me up where a game won't. I can see why others would. But I simply do not choke up over video games. Sometimes I'll be what others said and go...why'd you have to kill off that character, but that's all. I could be jaded in the sense that I've lost someone close to me. I was right there when they died. Games are fun and all, but the sheer raw pain and emotions from the real deal only serves to remind me that characters in a game or any other medium, aren't real.
Well played. Very well played. PS: I'm pretty sure a bottle of wine doesn't hold a candle to 3 beers and 4.5 shots in terms of alcohol content.
*bows* All kidding aside I'm pretty sure I know the difference in alcohol content when it comes to something like wine vs beer or vodka. It might sound like I'm poking fun (though I am since I laugh at all drunken antics equally) but I really do seem to have no tolerance for alcohol. I tried wine when I became legal and was wasted by one glass. It was not a pleasant experience. The next time was someone spiking the drink at a party. Harder stuff that time and I didn't notice it because what it was mixed in was too damn sweet. I got the same reaction and it made me sick too. So net result, I stay sober and get my kicks from laughing at the crazy things others do when they are drunk.
-

what are some or all of weirdest things you've done drunk? How much have you had to drink in one sitting? What are your favorite drinks? Least favorite? Anything to do with alcohol, put it here!
None since my system doesn't tolerate alcohol very well. So with that in mind, my favorite drink is water. Because then you are sober for things like this:
I could come up with a list of silly things I've done when drunk:

Pole dancing on the Beacon of Hope (HIV awareness statue lol)
My friend bumping down the stairs on her arse because she was in a cast and me joining in so she didn't 'look silly'
PJ Party >_

Hm, then it must've been me and my paronia about some of the enemies. I spent a lot of time grinding. Legretta was a beast. (She freaked me out) Since my first encounter with her I fought atleast 6-8 battles before progressing to another area. :) I also think I might've done quite a few of the side missions.
Collecting all of those rocks for Jade as well as collecting those books for Luke and techniques for Guy[/spoiler']. Glad to hear you had fun with the game though. It's also good to see that you and everyone else is more tolerant than I XD
Other than the technique for Guy, I never got around to those other side quests. I didn't even do the costumes as I only picked up one and that was for Tear. Instead I ended up
getting the mushroom for the medicine for Luke's mother and getting the two upgrades for the Albiore. Both areas for the fonstone for that had positively absurd monsters that nearly did me in many times.
It didn't help that I got turned around and a bit lost in both areas. Though I did pick up a ton of experience so by the time I went for the final area, I had literally gone from around level 60 to 68. As for Luke, it wasn't that I was any more tolerant. It was learning that
he was, on account of being a replica, seven years old. Yes he was whiny, yes he was irritating, but what seven year old isn't at times?
I never could look at him the same after learning that paticular detail and therefore, in my mind, he lost any power he had to be truly annoying.

I agree, I found that an eyesore as well. But since I started over (because I forgot what I was supposed to be doing) and I never got very far past that point, I couldn't say if that was a one time deal or not. I certainly hope not... I remember watching that and going... wtf?
Having finally beaten the game earlier today, I can safely say that the rest of the cut scenes are much better. Considering that they are either full out animation or just using the characters, that one scene is rather jarring for it's shoddiness. I'm just glad they didn't continue making them like that. Oh and the ending sequence is nicely done so I think you'll enjoy that Nathan. =P Anyway, I must have not done enough side quests Magus since I beat it and I only hit the 65 hour mark for the game. Ironically I managed to skip through pretty much all of the Eldrant dungeon and from start to finish, that entire thing, including the final boss battle took all of an hour and a half. Over all I enjoyed it enough that I'll be replaying it. There were somethings I found annoying, but no one in it really killed the game for me. Luke did at first, but once I found out more about him, I never could go back to finding him annoying. I know a lot of people hated his character, but I found Asche more irritating, mainly because in my opinion, they never got into what made him tick. So final level for characters was 72 917,301 gald 1258 battles 49 max hit 31,119 max damage

So the day is coming to a close (at least for me it is) and now let's play what did you do for the day? Mine was pretty normal since my fiancée works nights and didn't get up until late afternoon. So I played Tales of the Abyss and finally beat the game. Then later on I went to do stuff with Nathan. Ironically, as nice as the late afternoon/evening was, the best part was when it was snowing outside and we just curled up under a blanket on the sofa and watched. It was just a nice calm and peaceful day and that made it very enjoyable. Anyway, that sums up my day pretty well. Oh and just cause this is fun:
