1.
But I don't think it's fair to ban protests from any public space entirely. Next you're going to want to stop protesting at courthouses because people get married there. -Shy
Shy, you need to read the details of the bans since they aren't bans per se. Most states are restricting them to being a certain distance away and not an outright ban that won't let them protest at all. That's more than fair in my mind since it's not a true ban in any sense of the word.
  2.
Bethany, please calm down.
I'd just let it go Sandy, after all I was talking to her while she worked on it and part of what has her so mad is she worked on that for over an hour. So if it were me I'd be annoyed as well, especially since you were vague and left it open. :p
Sorry that I was so vague about it, it wasn't intentional (it was clear in my head, so I couldn't see that it wasn't clear in the post). But this plot twist is just so major that I simply can't let it be brushed off. I'm sorry for causing you trouble, but you still need to edit that part out of your post.
Also, there's no need for her to edit anything, I plan on posting in a bit and tying up that lose end would actually fit into what I have in mind anyway, so I'll put Jeanne back into her mindset that she has to kill the baby. I'll have that up in the next hour or two so look for it. EDIT: And done, also, be nice Sandy... I've never seen Kill Bill either so it was an easy thing to get wrong because this is just a game. Not all of us are the type to read something and remember every little detail. And that poke is for Allamorph by the way. The retaining knowledge or going back and underlining what people were getting off on. Also, it made for fun dialogue between your god and Aaryanna's god. :p
  3. "I won't accept this interference on your part Treisleilai." Paraxis warned her. "What are you talking about? I didn't change anything, it's not my fault that the desire to kill the baby isn't fully on the new soul's mind. Perhaps your powers grow weak fool." Treisleilai hissed at Paraxis. Jachym laughed at both of them, causing them to turn and look at them. Paraxis, still slightly annoyed by the attempts of both Illyria and Treisleilai to change the rules of the game and Treisleilai who was off to the side glaring at Paraxis in return. "It's your own fault Paraxis, you assume too much of Treisleilai. The soul is merely making the transition from the moment when they died to being fully with the Ragnarok. If you were paying attention, you would see that for yourself." Jachym indicated the pool showing the souls. Curious as to what Jachym was referring to both Paraxis and Treisleilai turned to look and see just what Jachym was talking about. Marta was confused, why had death charged her with simply helping the woman find her way out? That made no sense. But as they walked down the mountain side, Jeanne who at first had been talkative became silent, her posture taking on a different slant altogether. Will I find out later what I'm suppose to do? Marta wondered. As if in answer to that thought Jeanne stopped, pulling forth the pistol she had and then turned to face Marta, her look one of furious determination. "I have to kill the baby." She declared. "Where is the baby? You have to help me find the baby!" "What about your husband and Ash?" Marta started to question but Jeanne grabbed the front of her shirt and shook her a bit. "The baby comes first! I can't do anything until that abomination is dead!" Jeanne let go. "You're suppose to help me, you have been charged with this task." "How do you know...." Marta stammered but Jeanne interrupted her. "That's beside the point, what is important is that you have to help me kill the baby!" Jeanne turned and started heading back down the mountain and towards what appeared to be a large crystal building. If I don't help her death will curse me again. Marta hurried to follow along, doing her best to keep up with Jeanne who was frantically searching for the baby she was suppose to kill. Why does death want her to kill a baby? It didn't make any sense to Marta. But many things did not make sense. After a while, both of them finally came to the cyrstal building that they had seen, they were starting to circle around to look for an opening when Marta heard someone moaning. She motioned to Jeanne who had also heard the same thing. Curious, both of them went to see what it was. On the ground was a young woman coming too and over to the side... Marta did her best to not gag and the shredded remains of what had to be another human being. She was wondering what to do when Jeanne beat her to it, boldly walking over to the woman who was waking up. "Where's the baby?" She demanded of her as Naomi sat up. "Baby?" Naomi asked in a confused voice and then suddenly her expression changed. "Oh! You must mean Charlotte! Did she give birth already? Just how long was I out?" "How the hell would I know?" Jeanne grabbed the front of Naomi's shirt as she struggled to stand up. "All I care about is finding this Charlotte, I have to kill the baby! So where is she?" Confused Naomi looked over to Marta and then back to Jeanne, "Last time I saw her she was inside the building." Naomi looked over at the remains of Charles before wincing and looking back. "I killed the creatures that got to Charles, but there's probably more of them, we should get inside quickly." Jeanne let go of Naomi's shirt. "Fine by me, let's go Marta." She started heading around the building towards the entrance, pausing only long enough to make sure Marta was following along. "Wait! I'll come with you!" Naomi called out as she hurried to follow the two women. She couldn't stay outside anyway, and just why in the world did the woman want to kill Charlotte's baby? Curious to find out why she quickly caught up with the two women.
  4. For now Jared was pretty much ignoring most if not all of what was going on. There was nothing left that required his supervision. Though he smiled ever so slightly when he noticed that Darren was obtaining a copy of the battle data, but then he knew what Stevens had assigned him to do. Just as he was certain what Darren's reaction would be. Civilians were surprisingly ignorant as well as unrealistically expecting something different from a society that as the New Alliance was now declaring, were nothing more than enslavers. Jared was not interested in the so called morality of the situation, he never had been. And most Versilans weren't either. They were hiding behind the shield of slavery when in reality, it was likely that their true motives was to use the corruption of the High Council simply to seize power for themselves. Especially since Stevens and the others had been willing to overlook what had happened so long ago so long as it was no longer happening. No, the cry to end slavery was merely a front for others to attempt to seize control of the Versilan Empire for themselves. "What the hell? Are you certain of this?" Startled Jared turned his attention back to Sandra who according to the data was talking to someone back in sector one. They must have ended the jamming at the border. But what could be so important that someone would interrupt a battle? "I see," Sandra was saying coldly. "No, that's not necessary, I'll pass the information on to Stevens. Sandra out." "What's going on Sandra?" Jared asked as soon as she finished. She looked up, clearly furious over what she had just received. "I'm forwarding it to your location, it would be easier to simply read the report, both of you." She indicated Stevens as well. Jared pulled up the file as soon as it arrived, it didn't take long to read what was in it, but it was certainly a bit surprising. The New Alliance had attacked sector fourteen. The report indicated that they had not only seized the scientists there but had also leveled the place by virtue of razing the research center along with the military outpost and the establishments there. Well now, Jared thought, that's far more aggressive than I would have expected from them. I wonder how many died when they razed the place? A task force had been sent to analyze the damage, but unless they moved the people there elsewhere, it didn't fit what the Resistance had always done. I wonder if this is the influence of the representatives of the different sectors? It would certainly change the stance of the war if they were ruthlessly slaughtering anyone who got in their way instead of sticking to military targets only like they had done in the past. "I don't like it." Jared finally said when he was done. "And I'm not referring to the attack but rather the fact that they actually razed the place. The Resistance has never used such ruthless tactics." "Oh I don't know about that." Stevens spoke up. "The Resistance has never had the firepower to mount such an attack. I suspect that we are merely seeing their true colors now that they have the backing of the sectors that have broken off." Sandra shook her head. "No I agree with Jared, if the information we obtained about former Commander Daniel Landers being put in charge of the military for the New Alliance is accurate, there's no way in hell that he'd approve such a tactic. Unless the people were evacuated first, then he might do it." "It will be interesting to see what the task force finds out when they examine the remains." Jared closed the file before looking up at Sandra and Stevens. "I will be greatly surprised if they actually did kill those who were there, Sandra is right, Daniel would never agree to outright slaughter like that." "Are you sure about that?" Stevens asked. "Very," Jared confirmed. "I was in charge of his interrogation when he was first discovered to be a traitor. Daniel is honorable in the same sense that Darren is too honest for his own good." Stevens sighed, "Then that leaves us with only one problem then, and that's where they went after they finished in sector fourteen." "You'd better hope they didn't head over to sector thirteen, if the data is accurate, the forces there aren't enough to stop them and with the knowledge that Kiva has, it would be a simple matter for the Liberator to seize the facility there." Jared pointed out. "I know," Stevens said darkly. "I've already requested that some reconnaissance teams be sent to the border to gather what information they can, unfortunately, the closest one is several days away. Anyway, for now there is nothing we can do about it since my attempt to contact the fleet there has not been answered yet." Jared just looked at Stevens and Sandra, he didn't need to voice what both of them had to be thinking. If they really had gone to sector thirteen, it would present a problem if the New Alliance got their hands on the top research facility there. It was one thing for them to have the experimental ship the Transcendence, but to get their hands on the rest? Jared shrugged it off, even if they did, being able to fully utilize it would take time. We'll just have to make sure they don't get the chance to actually use the information. He turned back to finalizing the rest of the take over that he was responsible for.
  5. It's too bad that the lawsuit is giving this group publicity, and yet at the same time I'm pleased to see them finally get called on that BS they like to do. As for the limitations on protesting, considering that as others have said it's a funeral and that the restriction is on times and distance. Really, that just makes common sense. There's no denial of their right to express what they feel, they're being required like everyone else to keep said protests out of someone's face in a non public forum. That's like someone coming into your home and screaming at you because they hate the fact that you're different or for some other reason. Funeral's are a personal matter for the family of the lost loved ones and not the place to be spouting garbage only meant to be spiteful and hateful. It's an underhanded tactic meant only to gain attention without regard to who gets hurt in the process. And like others have said, if any fool had done such a thing at my brother's funeral... I would have gutted them and strung them up at the nearest tree.

To Moderators and the rest of the staff: If you could drop your current post and have someone just as good as you take over, would you?
Well if I actually wanted to do that I would, however, I'm still enjoying it so I have no plans on it anytime soon. Though it wouldn't bother me if I wasn't a staff member either. I didn't join this place with the intention of becoming staff. I joined it because I wanted some questions I had in regards to myOtaku answered. Though that just lead to me sticking around and doing more over here since I enjoy this place more than I do myOtaku. I still do stuff over there as well, just not as much as I do here. I can certainly understand why people wouldn't want to return to it since it's often more work than people think about. If anything I can certainly appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a place like this even more than I did before. Anyway, for now though, I'm perfectly content sticking around and as Aaryanana said, stalking Des is a must so I plan on staying for a while. :p

Anyway, I'm assuming that you're going to get this going Allamorph? Or are you going to do the bit with Isen first? Regardless I'll be waiting to see what you have in mind. 8.
On the one hand it's my birthday
Same here, though I'm older than you [even if it's only by an hour and a half] so you're still a brat. :p
what are your beliefs or superstitions, if any, and what do you[/I'] do on Halloween?
None since I don't believe in superstitions at all. They are fun if only for all the silly movies made, but beyond that they have no place in my life. As for what I actually do on the day, it varies. My family lives on the east side of the US so I don't get together with them like I use to. I kind of miss all the fun stuff I use to do with my brothers when I was a kid as well as how much fun the town I lived in was when I was growing up. Unlike here, though there are plenty of areas in SLC that really get into it, everyone back home really gets into Halloween. The town is always just decked out with all sorts of fun stuff and the actual day was great since seeing someone out of costume was unusual. Not like my first lame Halloween in Utah where I went to school dressed up only to realized only a handful had done so as well. Anyway, now I do a combination of things. Starting with dressing up for the day and either finishing by attending a party or doing a scary movie deal like I did last night with Rach, Beth and other friends. It was a shame that Halloween fell on a school night, I ended up having to bail in order to get some sleep so I wouldn't be a zombie for school this morning. lol
  9.
And yes, OB's back up and running, so let's see some action after this break, guys! ;D
And done. :p I would have done that much sooner if the site hadn't gone down. 10. Jachym had to agree with Bellanna, things were indeed moving far too slowly, taking far longer than he deemed necessary. It was time to eliminate more of the competition or to force their hand, and he knew just how to do so. Joe could not see where they were going, and yet it did not matter, he would find Marta and send her to the Hell she so richly deserved. For a woman who did not care who she hurt, Hell was too good for her. And the longer he stumbled along the path, clinging to the other person he had found, the more angry he became. "So old man, tell me more about this woman you are looking for." Jamie finally spoke up. "She is no woman, she's a monster, killing her own husband and then me to save her own miserable life." Joe said bitterly. "Don't be stupid, if you were dead you would not be here." "I don't know how, but Death brought me back here." Joe explained. "You said we were on floating islands, if such a thing is possible then reversing death must be as well." The voice of the one with him answered with a sigh. "I suppose that's no weirder than the ability to heal that I seem to have been given. Though it does not seem to respond to what happened to your eyes." Jamie just looked down the path they were following, shortly they would be at some gardens surrounding what seemed to be a rather large home. I wonder why someone built something like this? He shrugged it aside as he started to follow the garden path leading to the back entrance of the home. At least he thought it was the back. It was a design that he had never seen before. Jamie was halfway there when the sound of something growling caught his attention, causing him and Joe to freeze as they hunted for the source. "It sounds like it's coming from the left." Joe whispered. Jamie turned to look and then swore inwardly. There were four of them, about the size of a German Shepard though they looked more like some cross between a dog and a cat. They were wearing what seemed to be collars. Great, Jamie thought. Now what? "What is it? What do you see?" Joe tugged on his sleeve when he felt Jamie stiffen. "You don't want to know. Just move slowly and try to not drag your feet." Jamie instructed even as he continued along the path, carefully trying to avoid making sudden movements as the strange creatures followed along, still growling and barring their teeth at him and Joe. Just a little further. Jamie thought, once we get inside the house we can simply lock them out. Even if the door was locked he could see an open window, though there was no way he was going to hoist Joe up first if that were the case. Those things would rip him to shreds in no time. What he would have done Jamie never got the chance to find out. With a snarl they rushed both of them just as they were almost to the door. Without thinking Jamie pulled back, leaving Joe closer to the creatures who without hesitation pounced on him, dragging him to the ground. Panicked, Jamie grabbed the door desperately in an attempt to get in and then with a curse he ran for the window, ignoring Joe's screams as he leaped up and caught the window sill. For one horrible moment one of the animals caught his pants in it's teeth, threatening to spill him back to the ground. But then the fabric tore and with it's weight gone he was able to pull himself into the home. Unable to get to him, the fourth one returned to the other three who were still tearing Joe apart. Sickened Jamie looked away as he fought the urge to throw up. I couldn't have helped him even if I wanted to. He thought as he quickly locked the window and then ran thought the home's lower level checking to make sure the things couldn't get in. It won't change who you are in the long run. DeathKnight is right, the only reason people think it's a big deal is society tries to make you think it is. When in reality, it's not.
  12.
Weren't you gay? 14. *ignores Allamorph* Anyway, I have posted, though OB is being a pain and not showing that I did, at least not at the moment. But if you go and look in the thread... The post is there. EDIT: And now that I did something, it's showing up like it should.
  15. Adrian resisted the urge to smash a hole through the nearest wall when the illusion that they had been trapped in shattered. As if sensing how furious he was Astera simply stayed quiet, saying nothing. It wasn't that Adrian considered himself above such traps or that he shouldn't have fallen for it. No it was that he hated deception. A trick to get rid of them instead of having the courage to face them directly. But even though he could now sense the others as well as the fact that they were still trapped in the mansion, he could not sense the other Vampires. "Halt." Adrian turned to face Neviril, calling forth his scythe in his left hand and pointing it at her neck, mere inches away from her skin. Aeru moved to intercept but Adrian blocked her path with his other scythe, shaking his head to indicate that she had better stay out of it. "Don't force me to deal with you as well Aeru," He gave her a look of disgust. "You're a Shinigami, not Neviril's protector. You may have lost sight of your responsibilities but I have not." "But, it's not..." Aeru started to protest but Adrian cut her off. "What? Her fault? It's the same with any human when they die Aeru, the moment the Count turned her into a Vampire is the day she died. Never forget that. Now stop being an idiot, I'm not going to send Neviril on her way just yet." He lowered his scythe and turned back to Neviril who had frozen in place. "Where is the Count located? Even if you don't know where your Master is, you must know which chambers are his." Neviril, looked nervously at Aeru and then back and Adrian. "But, it's my job to protect the Count." "It's really simple Neviril, either you take us to his inner chambers or I'll send you on your way and find it myself. Either way you are going to be sent to the next life, you can wait until after you see your Master one last time or you can go now. The choice is yours." "Adrian!" Aeru protested. "Astera," He nodded to her and she took off and went over to chat with Neviril for a moment. Then he turned to face Aeru, letting the fury he felt show as he approached her, stopping only when he was close enough that he was looking down at her. "If you really have that much trouble accepting that others need to be sent on their way Aeru, then why the hell are you still working as a Shinigami? If you can't follow through on your job, you're useless." Adrian ignored her tearful look and pained expression. "This isn't about fair, it isn't about being nice. It's about maintaining the balance of life instead of allowing abominations like the Count to continue." He leaned down a bit, pinning her in place with his gaze. "If you can't accept that then you need to get the hell out of my way or I'll send you to the next life along with that Vampire." He finished coldly. Adrian turned back to face Astera when she spoke up, interrupting his discussion with Aeru. "Adrian!" Astera said brightly. "Neviril will take us to where the Count's main chamber is! She says we need to head back to where we first met him." "Fine, lead the way Neviril." Adrian indicated as Astera flew back over to settle down on his shoulder. He did not bother to look back and see if Aeru followed them or not.
  16.
How many of those models are actually still all natural and organic? Less than 1% I'd bet, they are all artificially modified to look better than real people are meant to.
Define real. After all humans are full of genetic defects. And in the end... they are still people. The very core of what they are is still human, that kind of modification is superficial where the other is talking about being artificial on all levels. Also... You've missed my point, I do not consider them real, it's that simple for me. I am not interested in robots or any other thing that one would consider getting married to. I like people. And I'm not interested in debating the finer points of what may or may not be possible. Because in the end it will be circular, I'll tell you it's theory only and you'll counter with what if... and so on. :p
  17.
At this point, I think I've lost my credibility as an RP host, so I'm not sure anything I do would be accepted :animesigh however I do have concepts that I don't think would make it
Not really.. we just like giving you a hard time. :p Since your usually pretty entertaining with how you run them.
HiME Spin[/B'] is one I thought about doing if SD was going well (cough) thing is, it's obviously a spin-off on the anime My-HiME. However, if the Anime Lounge thread is any indication NO ONE ON OB HAS WATCHED MY-HIME!!! Well, this wouldn't be totally relevant to the rp after all - see HiME are those who have special powers and can summon rathr awesome mythological beast familiars, but with a catch. If their familiar dies, so does the person who's most important to them. The rp takes place in a school and there's conspiracies and all, but realy, I'm not sure anyone who hasn't seen the show would be interested, since it all sounds pretty drab on paper.
I may not know the show, but the concept is fun. Mind you... You'd have to run it when I'm not already in a number of rpgs. I wouldn't have the time to add another one. As for ideas that would fail? I've always wanted to do one that was a spin off of the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey, but you'd really have to be familiar with her books and that universe to be a part of it. So other than a few vague ideas... I've left it alone for now.

That said, i would still hope to prefer a real human relationship.
I don't want perfection, since that's an illusion really. It sounds like it would be perfect but it's not. She's not human, after all...
Well to be fair, I can't wrap my mind around why people actually want to love a robot. lol Also... I am a woman DB and therefore I wouldn't have sex with an alien woman. I prefer guys since I'm straight. :p As for a guy... That would depend, my objection to not being human stems more to the part where it's clear that they were made by a human out of artificial parts. Where an alien, though not human, would not be manufactured at least.
  20.
Chobits
Not real and therefore irrelevant to this debate.
But you are not accounting for the fact that at some point in time it may be possible to construct a machine that is passible in all accounts as human. Already it is possible to construct a robotic body that at least looks human. Using dyed silicone skin for realistic color and feeling, aluminum tube frame for comparable weight, pneumatic-sheath muscles for realistic movement patterns and comparable strength, we even have means by which to construct realistic and working humanoid faces that only need a suitable control mechanism to perfectly emulate facial expression.
And you're not taking into account that all of this is still out of the realm of knowing if it actually is possible or not. And your talk of constructing something that looks human proves this out. The materials in such a robot are artificial and man made. It's not human it's simply emulating one. That's my point to begin with.
The only part we can't construct yet is a brain and soul that would fit inside such a construct. It is really the only missing piece to having a robot that could be considered human. Unfortunately our present computing technology is too large to be used, nor is it capable of providing the intelligence thresholds for sentience.
And we may never reach this point and even if we do being considered human is still not human. And even gaining sentience won't change the fact that they wouldn't be human. It would still be something else altogether.
I would just as soon stick with a flesh and blood woman, but there may be a point in time where such things are in fact practical and potentially even widespread. While I doubt a robot could be fertile, at the very least they would still qualify as being human enough for marriage. Instead of the gay marriage debates we have now we would be arguing over if robots should be allowed to marry or not. Imagine that.
Though that is possible, I don't see it happening in my life time. And honestly debating over marriage? Just as I have no problem with gay marriage I wouldn't care if someone considered themselves married to something that isn't human. I'll save the debate over civil rights and other legal issues for another time since I don't see this happening anytime soon if at all.
Sorry about the nerd rant, but Artificial Intelligence is among my lines of interest and one of my own theories say that while we cannot engineer AI directly, if we engineer a humanoid compatible form and give it the capability to learn, eventually by experience it would grow a soul of it's own.
And that's just it... It's still nothing more than a theory. ;) And though it's repetitive, I have no interest in something that isn't human like I am.
  21. Robot, android, no matter what the fancy name. It's still not real. I can see the sex toy aspect here, but marriage? As John said, that would be delusional. And I agree. I'd rather stick with what I already do, date real guys. If I ever get married, it certainly won't be to an object that isn't even human. lol
  22.
If anyone has any questions, or suggestions then just let me know. :catgirl:
Well I'd suggest having my character clobber Matt's [BKstyles] just for the fun of it but I'm betting that he'd object. :p Putting that aside I'm going to have the news reaching sector seven as to what happened in sector fourteen reach the fleet there at the same time the mess in sector thirteen starts. That will semi put us back on the same schedule, or rather close enough anyway. Mind you I'm going on the premises that communications are being delayed due to interference or else they would have learned of it much sooner. Also, I can just guess what else you've got up your sleeve for sector thirteen, but then I was in the first installment after all. Heh.
  23.
>_> The last one lacked any plans, this one was planned too thoroughly. Like I said, I can bring it back to life, it'll just be like after the count dies, then we move on to something totally different. And yes, school was a problem until about a week ago, but when I regained my time, I looked at this rp and simply couldn't bring myself to write the next chapter ^^;;
Don't worry, I'm just saying... If you're bored, don't leave the team hanging. It's no fun. ;) And by all means, if you want to do something totally different that works for me. And at the same time, if you wish to let it die... That's fine too. I just don't like not being informed one way or the other. :p And there's the fact that I like my character so I really do want to explore his background more since we've barely even scratched the surface. I'm sure you remember the pm I sent you before this got put on hold, we haven't even gotten close to going there.
  24.
You want me to spoil the whole rp? And anyway, it's not whether you find it boring, it's that I'm bored by it.
I already figured that you were bored with it DB. :p Also, I was only talking about the part with the count, not the entire rpg. I can understand that you have school and such, but it's no fun when the creator gets bored with the rpg. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it does reflect on whether or not one would join another rpg that you create. That's something you might want to think about should you start another one.
After all, that's twice now, for me that is, being in an rpg that you got bored with.

  25. Why don't you tell us that plan and let us be the judge of whether or not it was 'boring' as you put it. Also... I'll still be posting either tonight or tomorrow. Oh and if you aren't going to further the story with the Count... Then by all means, we should suitably plan his demise. I'm sure Allamorph and the others would have some good ideas on how to go about it. :p
