Even adding just one more sticky thread to each forum would create a lot of mess and clutter. I'm going to have to agree with Des on this one, DeeBee. As far as I'm concerned Hardwired and Anime Lounge have too many stickies as it is.
When we discussed having one in Anime Lounge a while ago, we abandoned the idea because of this reason. Having more stickies would have resulted in more clutter and mess than it was worth.
Having an official favorites threads for each thread directory seems perfectly fine, though. I'm a little surprised we aren't doing that already. -Shy
This too was discussed, though if I remember correctly, we got busy doing other things, so I don't remember if we were actually going to follow through with it or not. If it's fine with Dessy, then I see no reason why the thread directory couldn't be altered to include an official favorites/recommendation thread. That really would be the easiest way to do it. Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
Horendithas replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater

And he uses two of those things? Dear God.
*laughs* I guess I should also explain that part of Adrian's history as a Shinigami is dealing with war. He originally started with just one, but quickly realized when dealing with battle related deaths, two was far more convenient. Now, it's more out of habit than a need to have two. It was, and is, something that I intend to explore as I build his character. Since like Nathan, Adrian also has his secrets as well. -
Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
Horendithas replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Theater

Second, what exactly do Adrian's scythes look like ? length-wise, I mean? Or did I miss something a while back?
I think I forgot to explain what they are like. They're about the size of a quarterstaff, roughly six feet in length, not including the blades. The blades bring them to just under eight feet. And unlike the standard scythes they are war scythes. I hunted up a picture from my Diablo II game since that's what I'm talking about. Scythe Hopefully that clears that up for you. :p -
"Fine." Adrian said flatly even as he relinquished his scythes and turned to leave. He continued, allowing his voice to carry back to Nathan instead of turning around. "Next time don't keep the fact that the person you know is a vampire to yourself." He ignored the other vampires in the area in favor of leaving as quickly as possible, not even bothering to turn back and assure himself that Nathan was right behind him. It was not necessary, he could feel his presence. Adrian didn't know which was more annoying, the fact that vampires existed or that others knew about them and he did not. All Shinigami knew what a vampire was, but he had never encountered one before. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. If the higher ups knew about vampires, why was nothing being done? Unlike humans he would gladly work to rid the world of a blight that was worse than they were. Adrian and Nathan were almost clear of Victor L'Envers area when three rather large vampires moved to block their path, clearly looking for trouble. Adrian moved immediately to call forth his scythes only to halt when Nathan put his right hand on his left shoulder. "Adrian." He warned. Adrian rolled his eyes, "Yes I know, there's no good in eliminating valuable resources just like that." He said mockingly as he shrugged Nathan's hand off. "What do you mean by that scum?" The one in the middle scowled. Adrian did not answer but instead called forth a type of blue fire and reached forward and grasped his shirt effortlessly and forced him down on his knees, while calmly extending his left hand and using the same fire to send the other two head over heels. " It's simple scum." Adrian said in a very quiet cold voice, looking down on the vampire who struggled to get free. "Get in my way again and I'll send you to the next life." He shoved the last one aside as well. "That was your first and last warning." He stepped over the fallen vampire and left, immediately taking off the moment they were outside, heading for the soothing aura of his familiar Astera. It wasn't until they were halfway there that he realized that Nathan was unusually quiet. He shot a look back at Nathan but his expression was unreadable. "Since when were you so quiet? You got what you wanted didn't you?" "Yes, I did." Nathan hesitated a bit and finally said what was on his mind. "You should not have done that you know." "You're kidding right? I did let those three go. Besides," Adrian said flippantly. "That is what the cleansing flames are for remember? To deal with those unusual circumstances such as vampires." Adrian sighed a bit. "Honestly Nathan, I realize that you're trying to gather information, but sparing the lives of vampires? Sooner or later you are going to be required to send them on their way, death exists for a reason." He shook his head a bit, wondering just what happened or what Nathan was hiding as far as the vampires went. He had not missed the calculating look on Victor L?Envers face. Just what is he up to? I find it hard to believe that he did not know about Aeru's kidnapping. "Let's just meet up with the others shall we?" Nathan said with his usual irritating grin. Adrian just sighed and followed along.

It says "off-topic"? That's odd, since the discussions at the Lounge are usually very much on topic...
*poke* One would assume all topics that would be off in other areas of the boards is what it's referring to. Also... Joint? How about simply getting rid of the "Remember to keep to the rules." part instead of joking about getting high to appear less uptight.

Vanyel spent most of the time simply staring out at the huge valley from the vantage point of the cave she was in. The others were still resting and though she probably could have fallen back asleep, she had too many things on her mind. The biggest being that the energy surrounding them made her feel odd somehow. It was as if some part of her was connected to it, making her wonder if it had to do with her exposure to it at Stonehenge. After what had happened it was clear that her and the others had ended up with that energy in them somehow. She wasn't sure what to think of it since in a way it also felt like it was just waiting for something to happen, but the question was... What? Then she made the mistake of shifting so she was sitting on the floor of the cave with her back to the rock she had been sitting on. Vanyel was more tired that she had thought and without realizing it, she drifted off. It took someone shaking her shoulder for her to wake up again. With a start she scrambled to her feet and faced Rebecca. "I'm sorry," She stammered. "I didn't mean to fall asleep." Vanyel feel like such an idiot! How could she have done that? "Don't be, I was already waking up so when I saw that you had drifted off I kept watch instead. Besides, after what you did yesterday, the rest of us figured you'd be too tired to keep watch." "But..." Vanyel started to protest. "No buts." Rebecca said, turning back to face the others who were also getting up. "That's why there are five of us, it's a good number incase someone is unable to keep watch." It doesn't change the fact that I endangered everyone by falling asleep, Vanyel thought angrily. She turned to look out at the valley again and stopped and turned back when Tasha put her hand on her shoulder. "Vanyel," She said softly. "It's okay to be human you know." Vanyel stiffened. And then tried to relax, she couldn't change it or the feelings of helplessness since being human could get one killed. Especially in a place where the strange energy was interfering with the abilities of those on your team and driving the animals insane. Though it would make sensing them easier. Yesterday the birds had been sleeping and the mental energy had been so calm they hadn't realized they were there until it was too late, but today? Even now she could sense the chaos and erratic behavior as a result of the energy being on the planet. In the end, it would make avoiding the animals a little easier. I just hope we don't run into any of them, Triela, Amy, and Rebecca won't be able to defend themselves if we do. Vanyel pushed the thought aside as her and Tasha helped the three fly to the surface. They could fly, but it would cut out on them unexpectedly. Making it necessary for them to have someone with them. Well at least their abilities work a little bit. After finding some more fruit that was safe to eat they continued on to the next valley, hunting for more of those people who were lost. After a few hours, this time it was Vanyel who saw it, a cluster of what seemed to be thoughts off in the distance. "Well, I guess we'd better go and get them." Vanyel stated. "I can sense some of those animals not to far past where the thoughts are. It might be best if everyone stays here while either Tasha or I go and get them." "In that case I'll be right back." Tasha said, taking off before Vanyel or anyone could object. The others watched as she flew close to the ground to where the thoughts were and then came back quickly. "We'd better get out of here and quick. There's a whole bunch of larger predators that are just past the other animals, I couldn't tell for sure, but I think they are trying to figure out how to hunt in spite of the energy confusing their minds. Once they figure it out, we'll have another stampede on our hands here." Tasha indicated the path out of that area that sort of headed back towards where the others were. "It would be best if we go that way instead of trying to slip around them somehow." Vanyel looked to the others who nodded in agreement. "All right then, lets get going."

It's true, sprite or ginger Ale can calm a stomach. I'd suggest that indiff, next time your stomach is punching your belly. Because puking feels terrible. XP
It makes no difference, those get me just as much as other soda's do, if it's carbonated that is. Besides, like I said, often once I do hurl, I feel a lot better. Otherwise you feel that way all day long, nauseated and sick, and I'd rather just get it over with. lol Anyway, I mostly stick to water, juice and occasionally I'll have lemonade like Aaryanna mentioned. The type that's sugar free and you simply mix it with water. Though I like the raspberry flavor instead of regular lemonade.

Perhaps you have lost interest Revolver, but if Aaryanna, GuyYouMetOnline and DB are still interested, I would continue as well. And since GuyYouMetOnline was indicating that they have things planned out, I'll wait to see what they have to say about it.

I do not drink soda. Carbonation makes me sick to my stomach so I avoid the stuff like the plague. About the only thing I use soda for is to speed up the process when I am sick and feeling like I'm about to throw up. I usually keep a few cans on hand just for that purpose. Primarily because often when I am sick, once I do throw up I feel better. But other than that, I never drink the stuff.

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
Horendithas replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Right now I'm watching Lovely Complex, it's a shoujo romantic comedy kind of series. Not too profound and it takes little to no risks, and yet it pulls together quite nicely. Mainly due to the lead character Risa. A tall girl who falls for a short guy. The whole thing really stands on her character and she does it well. As for reading... I'm not reading anything right now. Well, that's anime related that is. With school running again, I'm back to putting in more time reading textbooks than other things just for fun. -

She was new since her family had moved to Utah that summer and she came to school that day all decked out in a very nice witch outfit. And learning that it was her birthday as well resulted in my talking to her. Though technically she's older than me. :p At least by a couple of hours, since it also seems that we were born the same year too. lol
At least I did dress up. Silly Utahans and their tendency to not dress up on Halloween. So few of you do that it's hard to tell it's even a holiday. That or I just live in the wrong neighborhood. lol Anyway, Rach already mentioned the few celebrities who are also born on this day, I don't really know any others. Though if we're talking about being born in the month of October and OB, I know of two other members who are born in this month. Beth on the 1st and Boo on the 7th.
3.) Have you dyed it? Heavens no. You have to bleach black hair to dye it and I have no intention of damaging it like that.
Now I have to take that back. Even though technically I'm not the one who did it. But several of my friends have been bugging me for the longest time to let them lighten it to a brown color. And being the idiot that I am, I finally let them do it. It looks nice enough I suppose, but still. I liked the black better. Once it grows back out, I'll never let anyone do that again. lol

About the colors. I was really bored and couldn't think of anything to add, so I added the colors. I'm gonna fix it up. THAT should really help me. I do have one somewhat-out-of-place thing to say, though - I think someone( not mentioning who.) resents me/my work.
If it's out of place, why say it? Also, I'd avoid jumping to conclusions here. Especially if it involves rpging. Assuming someone resents you is silly when the reality is, you don't know what someone really thinks. That's why communication is so important, sure there will be people you don't like rpging with, but sometimes that can be nothing more than having different tastes as to what you like to see in a story. If what you are saying is related to this thread, not one person has said anything that indicates resentment. So far all you've gotten is good constructive criticism on how to improve your sign up/rpg. Also, another tip, begging to get people to join usually doesn't work, I'd take what you've been told and try to learn from it, because simply changing the colors isn't going to make it any better. It needs more substance not a change in visual appearance.

Or would have been at the time you put 'your pride' into his mother. Heh.
As for the topic, because I don't want this post to get baleeted, I'm totally proud of being able to crush anybody and everybody at Wii Sports. Probably the same thing Shy mentioned, my existence. I know that what I do for a living helps out a lot of people. I really enjoy my work.

Request [RPG] Silver One: Civil War Banner Request
Horendithas replied to SunfallE's topic in Creative Works
I think it's a given that I was going to make one, in fact I ended up making two. And since I had another picture of that character, I extracted it and layered it in on the second one just for fun. So I hope you like it. :) -

For the record, FMA, best anime? I think so, anyone else agree?
For the record, your comment is completely and totally off topic. If you want to discuss that, take it to the thread for that show here: FMA Also, while you're at it, you need to do something about your post quality. Saying a show is the best and asking if others agree... without bothering to explain why you think it's the best is spam. Just like your post here that had nothing to do with the topic is also spam. Further posts like that will simply be deleted.

I'd have to disagree with the whole idea of asking permission to use someone's character. I think the characters are all part of the story, they have to be involved in your posts. If you as an RPGer can't grasp the idea of a character by their sign-up, then either the person who created the character has one whack sign-up sheet or you're not that good. If you improvise with someone else's character then you should ask afterwards if it's okay, but I find that if you go ahead and try your best to keep everyone in character, the story flows better. It's more interesting for everyone else - no one is picking up from their last post because someone else has posted and changed the direction of the characters to suit the game.
Heh, and I'll have to disagree with the part I bolded. Though I do agree to a certain extent that one should be able to pick up on other people's characters. However, I think its unrealistic to have that expectation for the players as a whole. It puts, in my opinion, unnecessary expectations and pressure on those who wish to participate and for some that's a huge turn off. Especially when they are new to rpging. When I first started I avoided rpg's with more elaborate signups since to be frank I had never done it before and I found the level of experience that creators expected to be not only intimidating, but unfriendly as well. It turned me off on being interested in rpgs for the longest time. So I personally think that if someone is in doubt, especially if its a major event, by all means pm the other person instead of improvising. Once you've gotten some experience under your belt, that improvising becomes a hell of a lot easier and more fun. But definately don't think you have to be able to do that immediately, I think that is something that over time you get better at doing.

I, on the other hand, only beat the game once. And instead concentrated on trading and leveling my character through Baal runs, and making it a PvP worthy character. Duels were the funnest part of the game.
If you're talking about multi player, I never touched that. Only played it by myself. I have no interest in dueling another player. I find that kind of thing boring. Oh and one other game I've probably put around a hundred hours in. Tales of Symphonia. I've run through that a couple of times to get different endings as well as different final companions. I've beaten the hard level but never got around to completing the mania level. And some of the side quests take quite a bit of time to complete so it's right around a hundred hours total.

Ah... I love this series. Especially Risa and Seiko-chan! (What?)
No what needed, Seiko is hilarious. How any
guy could be so effeminate is priceless.
Anyway, I finally got to watch episodes seven through twelve. And I just have to say, Otani is absolutely beyond clueless. lol The way Risa had to practically tell him
she liked him so many times just made me laugh.
And the way it depressed her to no end was also kind of funny. The episode where she played the ghost for the haunted house and literally freaked people out was fun. I'm not sure what I think of how they have Otani being so
uncertain as to whether or not he likes Risa
But I do like how they keep ending up together. Right now the funniest moment is when the rest of the class learned that Otani initially
rejected Risa.
The way they instantly gave Otani the cold shoulder was hilarious. Anyway, now I need to hunt down episode thirteen.

Not very many, I just don't have the time to sink a lot of hours into games. Still I've got a few that I've done so. The Legend of Zelda Mind you I'm talking about all of the games put together. Some I've probably hit a hundred hours by virtue of replaying them, but I've yet to put in that amount of time for Twilight Princess since I've only beaten it once and haven't gone back to it yet. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time I've probably put in close to 250 hours into this one. With all the battle trophies as well as the bonus dungeons and the different endings and the additional levels of difficulty... I'm still not finished with this game. I've gotten through the normal and the hard levels, now I'm working on the final level of difficulty. Diablo II: Lord of Destruction It's taken me a while, but between the different classes I've played to the end as well as going through normal and the beating it at the Nightmare level and working on the Hell level, which I have yet to actually beat. I've put in a good amount of time on this. Though I got about halfway through on the Hell level and I haven't gone back to playing it.

It's also a good idea to be reliable and have a good track record. Prem, your rps are known for dying early, and your posts in other rps are judged as well. Look at Esper jam and Shinigami dance - in both of them, you always do your own thing and don't group yourself with other players. Now, I've only ever been n one of your rps, and in that one, all of the other players had already met up and started being chased down and stuff, while your guy was busy with his own completely different agenda.
The others have already given you some good advice Prem, but I'm going to second this one, since in many ways I think it's the most important. You do go off on your own tangent instead of working with the other players. This has been the case for the Panopticon, Esper Jam and Shinigami Dance. When you do that, it takes the fun out of it since it makes your character completely unpredictable. Plus you tend to simply add your own NPC's to interact with. If you want people to join your rpg's you need to show them that you're going to be a part of the story with them instead of being off in your own world. To be honest, playing with someone who doesn't make the effort to work with your character is no fun. For all intents and purposes it's like your not even in the same rpg when you do that. And people notice that sort of thing. In the end, I'd worry more about working on your current rpg skills instead of getting people to join one that you created. Start working on being part of the story and having conversations with the other players. Once you get better at that, others will want to join your rpgs. That's a big thing that I look for, how well people work together when they are in an rpg.

And now my final post is up. Jared is definately looking forward to Civil War since he's of the opinion that being too soft is what lead to the sectors breaking off in the first place. And it goes without saying that he'd love nothing better than to re-capture Daniel and now Kiva and the others to deal with them. Anyway, *pokes SunfallE* it's time for you to put that final post in and then work on getting the next part up soon. ;)
