1.
O_O (This is twice today. Stop it. :p) Seriously, though, I am trying my hardest to avoid the personality "gray area". I dislike writing actions/thought for a character that they ohhhhhhh, maybe would have done. That's not them, then. That's someone else similar to them. See, some scenes'll be fine from just Nathan's perspective, but others might require me to jump between people, and if I don't keep them differentiated, what's so different from me just flat out godmodding them? Add to that that they're not my characters, and you see the reasoning behind my neurosis. :animeswea (Now I just need to see how much Adrian will blow up at Nathan. Hmmm....)
Awww, but that wide-eyed look is cute. :p Anyway... I know you put thought into getting someone's character right instead of just tossing things in there. So I'm saying you worry too much since I know you don't do god modding. You actually think about how they would respond and try to be true to their character. Honestly, you've already gotten him down really well. You'd have to do some sort of abrupt twist to totally lose how Adrian would respond. I enjoy your posts for the simple reason that you do put more thought into it, so even if something is slightly off, it's fine since it's rare for it to actually be enough to be a problem. As for Adrian giving Nathan grief, that's going to be fun since as I said, right now he's seriously annoyed. Heh.
 2. It was pretty obvious what Kiva was doing when she ran with the Transcendence and Daniel Landers. Stevens was being pretty quiet about it but to Jared it was obvious that he was furious. Not over the deception since lately it was becoming common to find Resistance agents in positions of authority. Hell their damn leader had been a member of the High Council no less. No it was the loss of the ship that bothered him the most. Even though Kiva was good at her job, something that had made it easy for her to stay hidden, there were plenty of other agents and military personal who were also just as good at their jobs. So replacing her was not a problem. But replacing the ship? She was the one testing it before more were put into production. So at the moment, there wasn't another Messenger ship that used the perfect Crystal system. Jared was also certain that Stevens and the others were annoyed in regards to Erica, since now it was painfully clear that her arrest and the exposure of the information by Kiva had been carefully planned to bring everything to light. In a small way Jared actually admired the intelligence and planning behind what Erica had done. All the pieces had fallen into place and it was clear that she used all of them to her advantage. It was easy to see that Erica had met with Kiva shortly before she went to sector seven to investigate the matter with the explosives used for the attack, just so she could make sure Kiva exposed her as the leader of the Resistance. Something that when they had talked to Erica earlier that day and had mentioned, had only resulted in her giving them a tiny smile as well as a reminder that they were free to believe what they wished. Erica was too clever to admit to anything at all. It had taken a huge effort for Stevens to simply turn and walk away. And in a small way Jared could understand that. As an interrogator, it was extremely frustrating to have no means to force the person to give you the information you were after. And to deal with someone as intelligent as Erica only made that frustration even greater. Now with sectors seven through twelve cut off from the rest of the Empire, things were going to get even more crazy than they did when Erica was arrested and Martial Law was enforced. If they stood by and did nothing it would generate even more problems, creating doubt in those who were still loyal. It was also a problem that for some of those sectors, there were aspects of production that were crucial to the main sectors. Not only was the special plants used for the more powerful explosives only grown in sector seven, but those same plants were also used for a lot of medical uses as well. And the production facilities that the Resistance had destroyed a while ago were responsible for parts used in all basic ships throughout the Empire. And though they had been rebuilt, they were still located in sector seven. With it being along the border of sector one, recovering sector seven would most likely end up being more important than tackling the one where they had stock pilled weapons and supplies. Jared gave off a tiny sigh without realizing that he was doing so. He already had more work than he knew what to do with. Stevens and the others were moving to shuffle everything to make sure the borders between sectors were well defended. Just as Darren was being required to redirect the shipping to make sure everyone was getting basic supplies. In short, they were getting ready for war since he knew that Stevens would not sit back and let the others simply break off. It was a beautiful sight in a way, watching all the ships that were gathering in sector one, and Jared's quarters gave him an excellent view. He stood still, his hands loosely clasped together behind his back. For the moment he was going to enjoy a bit of time to himself. Since in just a few weeks, all of that would change. Though on some level he was kind of looking forward to it. He kept himself trim and fit, as well as up to date on all the newest weapons and other aspects of combat. Using the holographic programs for training was one thing, but actual field experience? That would be quite interesting and he was going to enjoy putting his skills to the test. Just as he would most likely get to put his interrogation skills to use, that too was something he enjoyed and yet rarely got to use. Given a chance he'd love nothing better than to re-capture Daniel Landers, along with William and now Kiva and her crew. If that were to happen, he would enjoy every minute of prying every single bit of information they knew out of them before he destroyed them. If anything, the fact that the sectors had broken off just showed that in some ways, they had been getting far too soft as of late. It was time to correct that mistake.
 3.
(Snidely speaking, you could have just copied my format, but eh.)
Snidely speaking, no I could not. It's fun to read, not to write. ;)
Actually, I was going to handle that end and let you have at them some once they'd left, but I haven't had much time to write here in the past few days, and I really wanted a few more posts in edgewise first. I'll roll with it, though, so we're cool. I'm honestly afraid that I'm not getting Adrian right. I kind of stopped sensing him there towards the end of my post, I think, and that made me worried.
Also Allamorph, you worry too much about getting someone's character perfectly. It's not necessary. So long as you're getting Adrian down fairly well, there's no need to worry. I'll only squawk if you have him do something that totally goes against his nature. And right now, you're not even close to doing that. So roll with it and have Nathan drag the conversation out, if anything that will annoy Adrian and make him more inclined to clobber several vampires on his way out.
 4.
If we're going in terms of nicknames online, I've got a million.
You forgot Rat Boy. Even though I tend to use DB I still think of you as Rat Boy. :p As for nicknames, the one I get is people turn my real name Crystia into Crystal or Crysta. I've gotten use to it so I usually answer to any of them. And if we are talking about online, a number of members tend to shorten indifference to indiff. Which is fine since I know who they are talking about.

You can and will get yourself banned if you continue to post and ignore the warnings. It's not that hard to do, especially when you're already posting fairly well and simply need to clean it up a bit. I won't warn you again. As for the topic, I've never really encountered it since the few people who were negative about my hobbies or interests were people I did not consider my friends anyway. So their input was pretty useless and I simply ignored it.
 6. Other than Mike stopping by her quarters briefly to inquire as to the excavation notes for the gate, no one else had been by. And since she had yet to finish going over those notes herself, Brianna had told Dr. Travis that she would go over it with him later. Fortunately it seemed that who ever had been in charge of the gate once it was found was smart enough to not only provide detailed information, but to take quite a few pictures from different angles throughout the process of the excavation. Enough that even though putting her things away in her quarters did not take long, hours later, she still had not finished going through all of the notes. Brianna would have to actually see the site before she could say one way or the other, but based on the information, so far it seemed that they had done an excellent job of documenting the entire process. She was thinking about heading up to their mess hall on the top floor to grab some coffee when a chime sounded, indicating someone on the bridge was contacting her. She reached over and toggled the switch located next to her built in computer terminal at her desk. "This is Dr. Henderson, what did you need?" "Sorry to bother you Dr. Henderson," It was Mike, and did he sound nervous? Brianna started to reply but Mike just rushed on ahead, not giving her a chance to say anything. "Colonel DeSouza told us to contact you since we've been forced out of hyperspace by a gravitational anomaly and... Well it would be easier if you just came here and took a look for yourself." "I see," Brianna said a tad coldly. "I'll be right there." She terminated the communication. Why is he having Mike of all people contact me instead of telling me himself? She wondered as she grabbed her CCB and left to head for the bridge. Sure enough as she traversed the corridor it was clear that they had dropped out of hyperspace. She was almost to the bridge when she caught a flash of the Colonel entering one of the rooms further down at the end of the corridor running down the other side of the ship. Is he brushing me off yet again? She ignored the thought in favor of entering the bridge, and though it wasn't chaotic, it certainly wasn't peaceful with Dr Nakeisha Rhodes interjecting questions to both the pilots and Mike who seemed to be checking some information. Both Mr. Bishop and Ms. Erickson turned to face her when she entered but Brianna's attention was caught by what was on the screen before them. What in the world? "So what exactly happened here Ms. Erickson?" Brianna asked. She listened patiently as Ms. Erickson explained just what had happened, though Dr. Rhodes kept interrupting with different points about gravitational anomalies appearing throughout this section of space. Each time that she did Brianna couldn't help but notice the flash of irritation in Kendra's eyes. "Dr. Rhodes," Brianna interrupted her when she started to interject an observation for the fourth time. "Kindly wait until I am done with Ms. Erickson, you can explain to me what you've found out once we are finished." She folded her arms across her chest and waited for Nakeisha to mumble an apology before she sat down and turned her attention elsewhere. "Now, where is the Colonel?" Brianna asked, still feeling a tad annoyed. "He's gone to gather the officers to get prepared just in case they are needed." Kendra explained. "I see." She replied. Brianna glanced again at the space station on the main viewer and then turned her attention to Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Travis, but before any of them could say a word, once again the bridge doors opened. This time it was Dr. Catherine Sanderson. Who immediately asked her what was going on. We really need a better way of handling things like this, Brianna thought as she turned to give her attention to Catherine.
 7. All right Allamorph, I am assuming that to some degree the visit to Victor was mainly to learn more about what is going on. I left it open for you to of course have Nathan ask Victor more if you wish. Adrian is of course still quite furious over not being warned in advance about the vampires and at the same time he's still holding back since Nathan asked him to. Also, you'll have to live with my attempt to do a fake accent. I tend to avoid that since I'm no good at it. That's part of why it took me so long to get around to posting. Since I wasn't sure how to have Victor respond. :p And... DB is right, your new avatar and banner looks great SunfallE.
 8. X. Information or Deception? As he watched Victor L'Envers exchange words with Nathan, there was but one thought going through Adrian's mind, beyond the initial irritation over what had happened. So Nathan has dealt with Vampires before. I should have found him first instead of bothering with Lucia. Though he originally had figured that with her fondness of using technology that was different from the humans, that she would have been the best one at finding things out. He had never pried, but it was clear that Lucia had other means at her disposal. Adrian pulled his attention back to Victor L'Envers when he inquired as to what he could do for them. What? What the hell does he mean by that? Surely he's not saying... Adrian turned to Nathan who was watching him with a wry grin on his face. "What the hell are you looking at me for?" Adrian said in a cold quiet voice. "This was your idea remember? Since you seem to know something about vampires you can do the talking here." Nathan just grinned at Adrian before turning back to Victor, "Well I'm sure you can guess as to why we are here. You know the usual what's going on, or what's new request as far as information goes." Victor leaned back a bit, "True, you have not been by in a while Nassan. Tis most unsociable of you." He chided, to which Nathan just gave a slight bow of apology. "Anyways, it matters not," L?Envers said as he once again crossed his legs and got a bit more comfortable before beginning. "One would assume tsat you are most likely interested in tse Count since he iss fairly new to tse vampires. Tse Count is a very powerful vampire, but he was only immortalized witsin tse last ten years." Victor gave both of them a curious look as if the thought had occurred to him that it was possible that the Shinigami did not know of the Count. When his eyes met Adrian's he was positive that for all his 'friendly' manner, he could have and would have dealt with both of them if the situation warranted it. He kept his own feelings carefully hidden and waited for him to continue. "He only has around forty followers and most of tsem are kids." Victor said disdainfully, "Even if good help is so hard to find, it tis better tsan children! Still, tsat fool is far too ambitious! He cares not tsat his foolish desires would bring tse rest of the world against vampires all over." Nathan spared a quick glance at Adrian who was maintaining his stone mask and look of indifference. With a mental shrug he turned back to Victor. "Stepping out of line is he? I can take care of that for you. That is our department after all." Nathan just calmly started brushing his clothing down as if only now realizing that they had become dusty. Looking for all the world as if obtaining the information of where this Count was located was the last thing on his mind. Victor just laughed. "You hase not changed Nassan." He accused him. "And since tse 'word on tse streets' is tsat tse Count intends to do away with your kind I am not surprised to see you here." Nathan just looked up from what he had been doing. "Oh? It is? Well that's the first I've heard of it." "Tsen perhaps you should ask tse Count for yourself. I understand tsat he has taken over an old mansion located out in tse woods along the sea shore. No one goes tsere so I cannot be certain. It's south of tse old abandoned light house." "Perhaps we'll do that." Nathan replied. He turned to look at Adrian again but Adrian just shook his head, still refusing to say anything. If Nathan had anything else he wanted to cover then he had better do so and soon. Adrian was ready to leave.

 10. Number ten is totally true. Anyway... Here's a fun one that pokes fun at guys and women. A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells Husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the instructions at the entrance: "You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you ascend the flights. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building? So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. -The 1st floor sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs -The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids. -The 3rd floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids and are extremely good looking. "Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. -She goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help with Housework. "Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" -Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, help with Housework and Have a Strong Romantic Streak. She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the sign reads: -Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives store just across the street. -The 1st first floor has wives that love sex. -The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money. -The 3rd - 6th floors have never been visited.
 11.
You can do all of these thing with a debit card, I believe, which is nice in that it ties directly into your checking account and is still under the Visa/Mastercard/AE label, allowing you to use it for online or over-the-phone transactions. Also, using it means you're still spending your own money, not someone else's. I think the main issue with companies giving or not giving you access to credit is mainly due to your age. It falls in with the why of higher insurance rates for young drivers. Because younger drivers or borrowers tend to be more prone to costly mistakes on average, banks and credit and insurance companies are significantly more wary of that age group. I agree that having no history can't help you in such ventures, but neither should it hurt you, since it is, after all, an absence of information rather than negative information.
I have a debit/visa card myself, it is rather handy since it comes straight from your checking account. However it's still a good idea to have an actual credit card for those emergencies that your checking account would not cover. As well as for booking hotels, flights, etc. Also, an easy way to build credit is to use it for normal purchases like buying food. If you're like me and you plan your meals you already know what you are going to buy. And since you can use online services to pay it's easy to make sure that card is always paid off. Also, never, ever, max a card out. Or be late with a payment, those two things will hurt you more than anything. Just as having too many cards will as well, honestly I've never seen a need for more than two. Three if you count the one my parents insist that I have for true emergencies, but my father is the main person on that account, not me and I rarely use it. One other thing, I will disagree with what Allamorph is saying about having no credit history not hurting you. Sure it won't right now, but later? When you start looking for a home or getting a loan for a car... Having no credit history will work against you at that point. They will be looking at your credit history to determine how much you would qualify for as well as for how good an interest rate you'll get. As well as seeing how responsible you are. So not having a credit history at that point will really hurt.
 12. Well I'm sure you'd like another article Charles, so with that in mind I wrote up one for this thread... :) The Challenge: A Survivor Story The Challenge: A Survivor Story is an OtakuBoards fan fiction based off of the fourth installment of Sandy?s highly successful OtakuBoards Survivor series. However, unlike many fan fictions posted in the OB Anthology section of OtakuBoards, this one came entirely from a dream one of the then current players had. In the actual Survivor RPG the team, The Sunflowers had lost the recent challenge to the opposing team, The Aces. As is required The Sunflowers voted to evict one of their own teammates, but in a strange twist of fate each member received one vote each. Sandy then placed the decision in the hands of The Aces, but the decision did not come immediately and that?s when SunfallE dreamed about the challenge and decided to convert it into a story format and post it in the OB Anthology. Unlike the true challenge where The Aces had made their decision to evict SunfallE, at the time when she posted the first chapter to her strange dream, The Aces had yet to post their choice. In the dream, where everyone lived at OtakuBoards as if it were real; Sandy, disgusted with the lack of a quick response from The Aces, and the constant complaints he had received during the duration of the Survivor RPG, decided to literally evict them into the real world. He placed bounties on their heads so that the local authorities of the ?real world? would hunt them down and catch all of them. The goal of the challenge was to be the last one caught and thus earn the right to evict one person from the Survivor RPG regardless of what team they were on. And then, in spite of the protests of the remaining nine Survivors, they were tossed into the real world by indifference, in the middle of a busy mall no less! Leaving BKstyles, SunfallE, Aaryanna, Aaryanna_Mom, Shy, Rachmaninoff, Ezekiel, White and Keyblade Wielder to figure out how to avoid the authorities and to be the last one caught. Sandy claimed that indifference had given them protection against being killed while they were in the real world, but not from being shot by the mall security and local police that came after them immediately. Though those shots were converted into jolts of electricity. The entire dream from start to finish ended up being six chapters long with all sorts of fun and hilarious attempts by the Survivors to evade the authorities as well as being ?captured? as Sandy would call it as each time someone was caught, he would announce it over the mall?s announcement system. Though SunfallE woke up just before the challenge would have ended, it was close enough that she wrapped it up to match how things really went in the Survivor RPG as well as tossing in the revenge that the Survivors were plotting against Sandy. Something that as Gavin commented on in the thread:
I can taste the irony, and I have to say, it tastes good. I really enjoyed the story SunfallE and as weird as this sounds, I hope you dream about OB more often, just so you can supply us with a few more cool stories.
The short story was well received and several members also wished that SunfallE would have more dreams if only to provide more stories like the one she had posted.
 13.
How do you feel about ugly guys who date pretty girls, or when ugly girls date pretty guys?
I always want to laugh when this is asked since I'm one of those pretty girls that if I'm dating a more average guy, people will ask me why are you dating him? You deserve better. And the truth is that kind of shallow thinking annoys the hell out of me. Even though I do like the guy I date to be good looking, I'm not some perfectionist and people's ideas of what they consider ugly varies a lot. About the only thing that really turns me off is a guy who doesn't have good hygiene. Or he's an obnoxious jackass. I don't care what he looks like if he's a jerk. And if he's a sweetheart I especially don't give a damn if he's not the prettiest guy around. I guess some of that comes from getting hit on a lot, sure initial attraction is important, but I find it annoying when someone won't look beyond a certain level of what they consider attractive. Since I find that shallow as well and extremely unattractive. I might start with how they look, but it's what they are like that keeps me around more than a nice face or body. So I guess that's my way of saying I really don't care if an ugly guy dates a pretty girl and vice versa.
 14. I'm proud of my education since I just got my bachelor's degree, even if English is the devil's spawn and tried to thwart me in my goal. I'm also proud to have been accepted to the doctorate program at the university I attend even though I've only been going for one week so far. I'm proud to think that for the most part I'm pretty level headed and think things through instead of simply reacting. I've had enough situations come my way to know that I do not panic. I'm also proud of all the great friends I have. And I'm proud of all the volunteer work I've done while getting my degree. Even though at times I wanted to pull my hair out and walk out the door, I'm proud that I didn't and stuck with it.
 15. 1.) Long or short I'd say long since it's about six inches past my shoulders. I rarely have my hair short. I like being able to put it in a pony tail or use some form of clip to pull it back. 2.) Color Black 3.) Have you dyed it? Heavens no. You have to bleach black hair to dye it and I have no intention of damaging it like that. 4.) If you have dyed it, what colors has it been? I think I already answered this, my idea of dying my hair is to wear a fake wig for costumes. 5.) What length do you prefer on the opposite sex? Short to slightly long, though in the end, the only thing I do not like is the shaved look. It just doesn't seem all that attractive to me. 16.
I'm still working on the sequel so you can expect to see that in the next couple of months. Thanks again everyone, it's been a lot of fun. :catgirl: And for those of you who have expressed interest in the next one... Trust me, it's going to be fun!
I'll be looking forward to it, or rather Jared will. Civil War will give him the chance to display more of his mean side when it comes to interrogations. lol So you can definately count on me continuing with my two characters. Personally I think doing a full War story is going to be fun. Especially since you've got more than one sector deciding to side with the four factions who have ended up mixed with the lesser races. It's leaving things open for all hell to break lose in so many ways since those sectors are each on the other side of the main ones in the center. That will make it impossible for Stevens to concentrate on one area since he has to defend the other side as well.
 17.
Considering what has happened I'm thinking it might have been better to hand out those assignments immediately instead of giving leeway to be creative since based on what you've said it sounds like it was misunderstood. And if that's the case I'll work with BKstyles on fixing that since it's not your guys fault if we weren't clear enough. :catgirl:
That's what I'm thinking, that it was misunderstood. So in that respect it's a good thing that Kathy brought it up since it seems like people were confused as to what they should be doing. Personally I'm use to how you do things in Silver One, with objectives and all so I like having very basic instructions so I have a general idea as to what's going on. It makes it easier for me to be creative since I know what I can't overstep. Though I've already been working on a way for Brianna to annoy Marcus. :p Since she's kind of peeved that he brushed her off. Anyway, I say you hand out the assignment that was going to the member who hasn't been on to someone else and we get this thing going. Since like Kathy, I want to find out just what stopped the ship as well as what's going on with the gate later on. And if the other person doesn't get back online we can always have them end up off the ship since something could happen to their character or they could end up needing to leave and disembark when we get to the Cerids Capital. Well once we get past the problem right now that is. Heh.

"Agent Fluff has disappeared along with Gadgets head." She didn't give them time to be shocked over it, instead she simply explained what had happened and the likely reason that Fluff had left. "What do you want to do about it?" Shades asked. "It's not like we know where she went after all." "I know, but it does bring up why I am here. It's clear to me that Grape Ape is no longer capable of keeping this fight organized." She ignored how all of them sort of looked away, trying to hide what they were thinking. "Admit it, he's become disillusioned by all the things that have gone wrong, all the changes that have happened, in spite of all the improvements made here at OtakuBoards. As a result we're now facing utter destruction at the hands of both Gavin and the Beast. Neither Charlie nor Grape Ape could see beyond their misguided view of the Boards to see the very real danger in Gavin." "Don't you think you're being a little harsh Crystia?" Sanguinius asked. "Grape Ape's been around for a long time. I'm sure we'll handle this." Crystia shook her head negatively, "No I'm being realistic, even James can see that Grape Ape has lost it. Unfortunately because of that it seems that even he does not see the danger." "Wait a second." Webster exclaimed. "How do you know that?" "I'm a category moderator remember? I have access to information that all of you do not. Believe me, James thinks this is nothing more than some silly game between Charlie and Grape Ape. I've even received orders to simply ignore the nonsense going on unless it's spammy in nature. After all, he does want the members to have fun." Shades leaned back against the wall, reaching up to push his sunglasses back a bit. "If that's true, why didn't you say anything to Grape Ape?" "Because until now I thought that fool knew!" Crystia sighed. "I'll get to the point gentlemen, whether you object or not I intend to confront Grape Ape and take control of this operation. At this rate we really will be destroyed and I can't let that happen." "But..." Webster started to object. "No buts. That's what's gotten us in this mess in the first place. Now, I've already spoken to the hospital staff so I want all of you to work on finding what did DeadSeraphim in. I have a feeling that it's more than just a random death." The three hesitated a bit, still unsure over Crystia's sudden forwardness. "Move it gentlemen!" She barked at them, causing them to jump a bit. Then once it was apparent that they were moving she left to go and find anyone else who was left. Then once Grape Ape returned, or even if he didn't, she'd get things going. I won't let it end like this. She thought as she headed towards the admitting room for the hospital.
 19. And the secret is out. I figured you would be revealing that SunfallE so I was surprised by your pm. Let me know if I misunderstood and got things wrong. Still *laughs* I was expecting something along those lines. Time for all hell to break lose. Because seriously, considering how much they enjoy enslaving the other races or rather think they are better, that really would be quite a shocker. Heh.
 20. Banner by Aaryanna Jared was not surprised to be summoned to a top priority meeting on the Conqueror, he had been expecting it. Even though he was not in the same position as Stevens, Sandra, Dakar, James or Zach. He was the one investigating the building up of supplies in sector nine. But he was certain that the meeting had nothing to do with his investigation, at least not directly, no, it was likely that Crystal had finally finished with the genetic tests. And though Jared had several ideas running through his head, he wasn't quite sure what to expect. When he arrived everyone else was already there, and once he took a seat next to Sandra, and Stevens had secured the room he began the meeting. Choosing to stand instead of sitting down. Jared knew that it was not good, never had he seen such a grim look on Stevens face before. Not even when he had been required to arrest the High Council. Just what in the world did Crystal find out? He caught himself starting to lean forward and forced himself to lean back and relax a bit. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you why you are all here." Stevens said grimly. "Crystal has sent me the results of the genetic tests and frankly I find it hard to believe." He opened up his hand held computer and entered something that mere seconds later resulted in the terminal built into the table switching on in front of each person. "Instead of having each of you going what? every few seconds I'd rather you simply read it for yourselves." Stevens folded his arms across his chest, and simply waited for them to read what Crystal had sent. Jared did as the rest of them and immediately started reading what Crystal had sent. It was a toss up as to who was the most surprised in that room, though Jared knew it was not him. Still... it was a little hard to swallow. He read it twice to make sure he wasn't seeing things. But if Crystal's notes about double checking it was true.. This is not good. He thought. If this gets out, it really will cause war. In a way it was rather ironic, even more so than a member of the High Council turning out to be the leader of the Resistance. This was even more shocking and quite literally went against everything most Versilan's had been raised to believe. So much for our belief that we are superior to other races. Though Jared had never been a huge believer in that, he simply didn't care. Jared resisted the urge to laugh, it was rather funny. The High Council was so screwed up in so many ways that it was poetic justice in a sense. It certainly explained why some of them were in favor of better conditions for the lesser races. Not a lot of course but still it made sense. Because unless Crystal was wrong, and that would surprise the hell out of him if she was, but it seemed that nearly fifteen hundred years ago some of the lesser races had managed to pass themselves off as Versilans. They must have slowly worked their way up into high positions and even learned about genetics so they could carefully make sure their true origins were never found out. And though they would probably never know which faction was the first to end up with someone who was not a true Versilan in their family, it must have been quite the shocker to realize that nearly a third of your family was tainted with the blood of the lesser races. It was no wonder they had kept it a secret and simply worked on getting rid of any trace of the code, on modifying themselves to hide it. If others found out, it wouldn't matter that they were connected to the High Council, all they would see is that they were not 'pure'. That they were one of those members who were considered inferior. It really would start Civil War. Obviously the remaining factions would not be happy with being reduced to slaves, just as those who really did believe that they were better would object to being ruled by those they considered inferior. This is going to get interesting. "Does anyone else know about this?" Jared finally spoke up since it seemed that the others were too stunned to do so. "It seems that Erica passed it on to other members of the Resistance since I received this message from a ship called the Astera that ignored procedure and jumped to hyperspace immediately instead of going through the checkpoints after it left Reflection." Stevens sent the message to all of them and again waited for them to read it.
This message is for Fleet Admiral Stevens. By now you must have received the results of Commander Crystal's tests. Just as by now you must be aware that we are prepared to share this information with the rest of the Versilan Empire if you do not free the lesser races. You are on the brink of Civil War and we are prepared to make sure that War does happen if you are not willing to listen to reason. I am also sure that by now you are also aware of the build up of supplies and military personal and goods in sector nine. Make no mistake, the Resistance will fully support the factions who are refusing to hand over their personal codes should Civil War break out. The time for equal status and treatment is long overdue and should you be too arrogant and foolish to heed this warning then you have left us no choice but to go to War. I sincerely hope you finally see the error of your ways.
"That's it?" James asked. "I mean I can see why they would say that considering what Crystal found out, but how can they expect things to change so radically? If we free the lesser races many aspects of our economy will collapse!" "This is absurd," Dakar finally spoke up. "Are you really sure Crystal's test results are accurate? I find this hard to believe. How could something like this have happened without anyone noticing? I mean seriously!" "I would have thought that was obvious Dakar," Sandra said coldly. "It started out with just a few and gradually increased over the centuries. If I understand Crystal's notes correctly, in just another generation or two the remaining fragments in their genetic code would have been removed and at that point, no test would ever show their true origins." "What do you intend to do Stevens?" Jared asked. "Even if people don't believe the Resistance, news like that, especially after all that has happened, will be listened to. You'll have riots on your hands that will make the fuss over Erica and the mental alterations look like nothing in comparison." Stevens just sighed as the groups started arguing among themselves a bit. He honestly didn't know what to do, his first instinct was to get the situation in sector nine under control, but any attempts to move the fleet or reassign personal there would be misunderstood. Finally after Dakar and Zach started getting angry Stevens spoke up. "Gentlemen, right now we need to worry about what to do about the situation in sector nine as well as how to handle damage control if this news gets out. Right now, things are pretty calm but I expect that to change. So your orders as of this moment are to start going over everything as if War really is going to happen. Once we've done that we'll start talking about how to address the issue with the remaining factions. I intend to confront them with the knowledge of Crystal's test to see what I can find out." He looked at each one of them. "Once all of us have done that we'll get together again to discuss it. Dismissed." Jared watched Stevens as he left the observation room, wondering just what he was thinking. Because as far as he could see, all hell was going to break loose. He looked over to Sandra who was already going over something in her hand held computer, where the others were leaving the room to head back to the home world. With a sigh Jared finally got up and left himself. I guess I'd better double check all the information in regards to sector nine.
 21.
wouldnt i rather use some thing else that made me smell more like a guy? my responce was *its soap, whats the big deal?* now that i think more about it, tho i do stand by what i had said, i cant help but wonder what does any one else thing?
Well, not that women expect it, but there is stuff out there that does smell good for a guy. lol I couldn't tell you what it is, I just know when a guy I'm dating is using more than just regular soap. As for saying it's soap, what's the big deal... Most of the time it's not, but some of us women do like using stuff that cleans well and smells good as well. Plus, most regular bar soap tends to dry my skin out so using body wash is one of the few things I'll spend extra on. I usually get one from Bath & Body works called Cherry Blossom that smells like Wisteria, which I happen to like actually. Especially since it doesn't dry my skin out. I hate using regular soap and then needing to put lotion on after I take a shower. I'm also a bit picky about what shampoo I use since some brands like to about strip my hair and make it all dried out as well. I actually get one from where I get my hair cut. Sure it costs a little more, but I like it. That and after trying quite a few brands at the store, I got tired of looking for one that didn't mess my hair up.
 22. Heh, that's a good one Gavin. And since we are talking about stuff that was e-mailed... A friend send me this the other day. I'm assuming it's a joke. I certainly hope so. Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics: 29 have been accused of spousal abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 19 have been accused of writing bad checks 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year... Can you guess which organization this is? It is the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.
 23.
Push ahead blindly really is a pretty stupid method... thankfully SD is more planned out...
Or simply starting before you have everything ready. Which can be hard since it's fun to get things going when it's an idea that looks like fun. Which is why SunfallE and I are already working on the next plot points and objectives for the sequel to Silver One. ;) We want it to be as successful as the first one has been. Still I'm sure GuyYouMetOnline will work out a nice plan and I'm looking forward to it since so far, in spite of it not going as quickly as you would have liked, I've still enjoyed it just the same.
 24.
I can see it now... Des is making more chains to keep us locked up all the time so we can maintain the site. What's sad, is we'd probably be willing victims. XP [I kid] Anyway, I'm in favor of allowing more threads instead of having more forums. It just seems like it would end up being less messy that way. But then I think the example Petie provided would work really well. ^_~
You know, I can totally see Des doing that. As well as us being those willing victims. Heh. Anyway, even though it's a bit redundant, I agree with having more threads instead of more forums. Especially since it's not like every single thread would have to be added to the directory, if some are too similar they'll just end up merged with one that already exists. It's not like we would need three threads about who's your favorite character of a paticular show after all.
 25. I forgot to mention it earlier, but I'd like to write up the article on this thread: The Challenge: A Survivor Story [PG ? LV] So expect it in the next day or two.
