1. I'm not, I'm simply assuring you that I won't kill off to many since you said that we don't want to do that. ;) So I'm not asking for permission, merely telling you my intent. Heh. Besides it would be more fun to work with Aaryanna on a kill since we can weave it into what happens next, and I'm thinking of adding a bit of a battle with the characters using their abilities in there, just to liven things up.
 2.
Says the pot to the kettle.
It's still true though, it's kind of unrealistic to expect things to be done because of a belief in God when many of us do not have such a belief. ;) And on the same thought they have the right to think that it's not our place to decide, but that still leaves them in the position of not having the right to make that choice for someone else, regardless of their belief or non-belief. Using God or belief as a reason for not allowing assisted suicide isn't a good enough reason for me either. So in other words I have no issue with it. About the only thing I think is important is that it has to be something that there is no way to cure it, at the time of the disease that is.
 3. If you want something psychological then you might enjoy Now and then, Here and There. It's basically a war story. And since I'm too lazy to write it up at the moment, here's a brief summary from ANN:
Shu is a typical Japanese boy, but has an unbeatable, optimistic and determined attitude. However, when he sees a mysterious girl with strange eyes named Lala-Ru up on a smokestack, he is soon pulled into a strange desert world. Shu soon discovers the true terrors of war, which includes genocide, brutal torture, hunger, thirst, and child explotation. Now Shu is trying to save Lala-Ru, as well as his hard earned, and often relunctant, new friends from the insane dictator, Hamdo. Whether Shu can possibly accomplish saving those he cares about while still holding up to his values remains to be seen.
It's not the most groundbreaking, but it has its moments where it captures just how insane war really is and for that it's definately worth seeing once. And it's only 13 episodes so it's also nice and short. Just long enough to tell the story without dragging things out unnecessarily.
 4.
^^;; just try to keep it as little gory as possible. I want to avoid an M-rating. But still, yeah, use some fun deaths. Maybe someone's mind can expand into becoming it's own universe? lol, I better not spoil anything :p
*laughs* Now you've gone and done it DB. People are going to want to kill. Still no worries, we won't create a bloodbath or anything like that. In fact I'll wait until after GuyYouMetOnline is done with their post. Still, that does give one time to get creative and think about it, even if I don't kill anyone off. Which by the way if Aaryanna does, I won't keeping it more balanced. ;)
 5. Just so everyone knows... 2007DigitalBoy knows about this so expect this character to be joining in when the next part starts. Name: Adrian Gender: Male Apparent Age: 21 Personality: Cold and indifferent. He seems friendly enough, but underneath the superficial appearance he doesn?t give a damn about anyone, especially humans. He sees them as a blight that should be wiped out. Though he keeps that opinion to himself. Eccentricities: Spends a lot of time among humans, whether it?s to reaffirm his thoughts that they are scum or to attempt to prove that theory wrong, even he doesn?t know. Adrian really detests humans and given a chance will shirk his duties as a Shinigami, often forcing others to pick up the slack. His reasoning when asked, is that he would have killed them all instead of a select few. A statement that on occasion is actually true. Though most of the time it?s just because he could care less. Adrian has a soft spot for his familiar Astera, she?s the only person he actually cares about and it?s her influence more than anything that keeps him in line. Familiar: Astera. Female. Astera is a fairy. About half the size of a feline she can often be found perched on Adrian?s left shoulder. Unlike Adrian she?s bright and cheerful and very friendly. She?s fiercely loyal to Adrian and believes that his indifferent personality is because deep down he does care. Whether or not that?s true is another matter. Appearance: Adrian | Astera
 6. If it's greenery, I'm probably allergic to it. I've had problems with all sorts of plants for as long as I can remember, as well as having trouble with asthma. It was pretty bad when I was a kid, but over the years it's gotten better with improvements in medicine as well as my parents moving from a very green state to Utah which is a desert state. Those allergies are why I stayed here instead of moving back east when they moved back. For the most part I do alright, but for those times when I don't, I'm just glad we have stuff like inhalers. I never go anywhere without mine. It's also the reason why I'll never date or marry anyone who smokes. I've found out the hard way that too much exposure will trigger a mild asthma attack. And if the source isn't removed and I keep getting exposed, the attacks get progressively worse.
 7. When Jared started investigating the officers in question who were commanding many of the battle ships patrolling sector nine, he had been surprised at what he found. They had immediately started requesting extra supplies in less than twenty four hours of the news that the High Council had been arrested. In addition to that there had been massive changes in the command structure, people demoted and others put in their place, many of them for no good reason, or rather those who replaced them were less qualified. Telling Jared that they were replacing them with people that they trusted. But that didn't answer the question as to who told them to make such preparations or why they thought the issue of Civil War could come up. It took him a while to finally track down what was going on, and even then it took the combined effort of several computer specialists to track down communications as well as getting clearance from Stevens to access highly classified data banks for the military. In the end what he found was chilling. Someone was feeding the officers information indicating that they suspected that either civilians or other factions would move to destroy the families of the High Council there. It wasn't true of course, at least he didn't think it was true, still, they were simply following orders to prepare for any eventuality. There was only one problem, he had not been able to find out who had been sending them the orders. Whoever it was, they were being very careful to hide who they were. It was cleverly done, if the protocols for shipping hadn't flagged the occurrence over the build up of supplies they would have never known that they were developing a surplus in sector nine. The only thing Jared didn't know was what the secret was that would drive them to actually fight. They had been at peace for thousands of years, disputes between factions simply did not result in actual fighting on that scale. If Sandra had spoken to them and they had not told her why, it was clear that they had been told to trust no one. It suggested a division among the military that shouldn't exist, at least not at that level. And depending on the information that Crystal found, it would take something pretty damming to convince the rest of the crew serving on the ships to follow the order to attack another battle ship. Jared wrote up a report and sent it off to both Sandra and Stevens, detailing everything that he had found. Ideally, it would be best to replace everyone who was involved, though realistically, that wasn't possible. Instead it would be best to prepare the rest of the fleet or rather work out a plan of responding if necessary. Still, it made no sense, as far as Jared knew, there was no plans to release whatever Crystal found. So if it didn't get out, why was Erica claiming it would cause Civil War? As he closed down the terminal from his position on the bridge of the Creator, Jared also issued a few commands to the officers on duty before finally getting up and heading for his quarters. In the end, he got the feeling that Erica was toying with them, he knew perfectly well that her plans as the leader of the Resistance was to force the High Council to free the lesser races. He couldn't help but feel that on some level they were playing right into her plans. She had told Stevens that he was blind to the dangers of Civil War, but he wondered if she was actually making sure that war did occur. Frustrated Jared put it out of his mind as he entered his quarters and headed for the bathroom to get cleaned up. For now he would take a shower, have a little something for dinner and then, he would finally head over to Kerstin's quarters and find out what the hell was bothering her so much.
 8. Well, I like that line so I'd rather that it stay instead of being done away with. Though making it so it's a choice seems ideal, if not then this is the best solution in my opinion:
Edit: Or we could just get rid of the guestbook and friend links to make the line shorter. Those bits always seemed unnecessary to me since there's already a link to the person's main page, from which you can do both of those things.
That way those of us who like it still have it available and the removal of the other two links would shorten it up quite a bit. Since like Des said, visiting someone's myOtaku page means you have access to adding them as a friend or signing their guest book so those two are a bit redundant and unnecessary.
 9. Oh my. That ending is priceless. Trapping Sandy in a thread full of rabid fan girls no less. lol I'm kind of sorry it's over since that was fun from the beginning to the very end. And though I wanted Aaryanna to kick BKstyles in the shins and win... :p I do like how you made the ending fit with how you really did get kicked out of the Survivor rpg. Since you woke up before you found out what happened in the dream, that was a good way to end it in my opinion. As well as including the revenge that I'm assuming Rachmaninoff told you about when he whispered to you. Anyway, what a fun and wacky dream that was. :catgirl:
 10.
Do you want it to be in the style of an OtakuBoards parody type deal? You know Otaku City and all that.
As the instructions state: Be creative! In other words, that's entirely up to you. Your only real restrictions are the rating [E] due in one week, and the word count. The rest is however you wish to do it. ;)
 11. First of all, congratulations to those who found one of the missing items! Each of you have earned a point. Here's an update on the points list. Premonition - 3 SunfallE -3 Rachmaninoff - 3 Aaryanna_Mom - 3 Sakura -3 Gavin - 2 BKstyles - 2 Hitsuzen - 2 Sandy - 1 Treble - 1 Bloody Rose - 1 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 1 taperson - 1 Now as was stated at the beginning of this event:
At the end of three rounds, those with the most points will enter a final battle for the title OtakuBoards Bermuda Triangle Mystery Champion. Where a mysterious prize awaits you.
So it is now time for the final battle to commence to see just who will be the Champion. Now unlike the previous rounds you will not be hunting for clues but instead you will be hunting for an antidote. It is unfortunate but those of you who so diligently found the clues and gained the most points were also dangerously exposed to the phenomena that caused all the disappearances in the first place. As a result each one of you been changed into the opposite gender! Premonition, you have now become Priscilla! SunfallE, you have now become Sunny! Rachmaninoff, you have now become Romona! Aaryanna_Mom, you have now become Aaryanna_Dad! Sakura, you have now become Sasuke! Now, it took us a little time but Aaryanna and I have obtained an antidote that will turn you back to normal. However, once again the phenomena associated with the Bermuda Triangle has struck, scattering those antidotes across OtakuBoards! So each of you will need to find it within a week or the change will become permanent! The rules for the final battle are simple. Each one of you must post in rpg style about searching the boards and finding the antidote. But like any voyage into unknown waters there are rules one must follow in order to succeed.

You will only be posting once. From the beginning of your search to where at the very end you find the antidote and return to normal.
You must have between 500 to 1000 words, no more, no less.
Remember that the rating of the thread is [E]
You have approximately one week to post, if a week has gone by and someone has yet to post... We will post indicating that the time is almost up. We will also give a concrete deadline at that point.
Be creative! Remember you are competing against the other opponents.
And finally... Have fun!
Once all the posts are up we will be adding a poll to the thread that will give members a week to vote for the entry they like the best. The poll will close in one week. In the unlikely event that there is a tie then those of you who earned two points, will be asked to act as judges to pm either Aaryanna or myself with your choice out of the tie. Now if there are any questions feel free to address them here, otherwise, get working on that post and getting turned back to normal!
 12. Well, even though I know I need them, sometimes I find it annoying when one of my books for a class at school runs over a $100 and the damn thing is made like an cheap over sized paperback book that falls apart halfway during the semester. Like one I got earlier in the spring, $110 and it lasted all of two months even though I was careful with it. It's like the longer I'm in college, the more cheaply made the books become, and yet they just get more and more expensive. Pretty outrageous/ridiculous if you ask me.
 13.
So have any of you guys seen this? What do you think about it? After reading this post would you go and watch it?
I've seen it and to be frank I found it boring. It was interesting from the standpoint of what the overall story idea was about, but the execution was poor. I kept expecting a story but the truth is, there just wasn't much of a story at all. Sure it was about people and what motivates them but it never went much further. Also in my opinion, it ended cheaply with a quickly tossed in
sex scene instead of any real form of a conclusion.
I'm glad I only rented it though netfix instead of purchasing the show.
 14.
So no I have never been isolated because of my hobby. If I did become Isolated I would drop my hobby.
Well, it was a long time ago so I kind of figured it wasn't quite the same today nor do I think others got harassed to the same degree that I did, though I'm sure they do, just on different things besides anime. As for dropping my hobby? lol It'll never happen. If people are so narrow minded as to exclude someone for liking something different, I wouldn't want to be their friend anyway. But then the idea that you can't like certain things in order to get along with others has never appealed to me. But I don't have that problem anymore and haven't run across it for quite a while. Also, I've got plenty of friends who like it, both in real life and online. ;)
 15. It didn't take them long to get to the caves, even with the dense foliage it was a simple matter to simply transport around the parts that were impassible. But it didn't change how the place made Vanyel uneasy. She couldn't quite pinpoint it, but it made her extremely nervous to be in an area with no buildings anywhere. Even though she had been homeless for a long time, Vanyel had never been out in the middle of nowhere. It may have been pretty in it's own way, but already she hated it and wished that they were done. She was also a bit uncertain about entering the caves, Vanyel had never been in a cave before, but she vaguely recalled hearing about disasters and people becoming trapped. Not that being trapped concerned her, teleporting out would be simple just as... She stopped for a moment as it struck her what Liam had been telling her before about teleporting others against their will, that there would be times when it would be a good thing. Vanyel almost laughed out loud at the thought that the old fool had been right. Transporting someone out who couldn't do so themselves would be far kinder than leaving them to die would. She thrust the thought aside as they continued through the huge passageways, hunting for some sign of one of the missing people. She couldn't help but wonder though, if Liam really was dead or not. Vanyel had thought that he was but now, as she encountered more and more strange things she was no longer sure. They continued for what seemed like hours as the caves seemed to go on forever, some were nothing more than simple rocks where others were huge underground lakes with bizarre plants growing that gave off a tiny bit of a glow. If not for the seriousness of the situation, it would have been fascinating. Finally the ground began to slope back upwards, leading them to speculate among themselves that it was possible they were going to find another exit and sure enough they did, the caves emerged at a bit of a rise overlooking an enormous valley. They all stood there for a minute taking in the view when one of the others spoke up. "Look!" Amy cried as she pointed towards something not to far off. At first Vanyel didn't know what she was talking about, until Tasha spoke up as well. "So that's how we'll find them. I wasn't expecting them to be in that form." "What are you talking about?" Vanyel demanded, still unsure as to what they were looking at. "Lower your telepathic shield and you'll see what I mean." What? But... Vanyel did not want to lower it, she hated picking up on others thoughts. You're on a planet devoid of people idiot! She thought to herself. There won't be a horde of thoughts to worry about. Still she hesitated and then finally with a growl of irritation she did so. Wincing unconsciously as she waited to be slammed by others thoughts, but to her surprise, other than some calm and orderly stray thoughts she picked up nothing. What the? She turned as she heard Tasha laughing at her. It's because all of us can use telepathy, our thoughts are organized. Now look over there. Vanyel followed the direction her thoughts indicated and sure enough she could clearly feel or rather almost see what had to be a center of thoughts. It was the strangest thing she had ever seen or thought she could see. It was if whatever was there was hovering between different realities. "Are you sure it's one of the missing people?" Vanyel asked all of them. Tasha nodded, "Just wait, you'll see. I can clearly sense some of their thoughts from here, I probably would have found them sooner but their thoughts aren't traveling very far, even though we are close it's very faint. Anyway, lets go and see if your idea to isolate them inside a psychic shield works, I tried talking to them but they don't seem to hear my thoughts. Also, I told the others what we found and I'll update them once we've made contact." Vanyel nodded and started towards the cluster of thoughts. Now if only the strange feeling she was getting would stop, feeling like she needed to sneeze mentally was to be frank, annoying. She had already tried strengthening her psychic shield twice and though it helped, it didn't get rid of it.
 16. Just a heads up DB, I haven't lost interest, but I've got a sinus infection that has my head feeling like it's going to fall off as well as making it hard to think straight. I figure I'll be back at it once the meds the doctor gave me earlier today have had a chance to work. I figure that will take a couple of days. Anyway, just thought you'd like to know.
 17. Welcome to OtakuBoards kuramas_foxy_ro, When creating a thread, Quality and Content are important and threads that don't spark conversation should generally be avoided. Search threads, asking where to find something, are one example; simply use Google instead. OtakuBoards is not an Internet search engine. Please take a moment to famalirize yourself with the rules and sticky at the top of this section titled How to Post in Anime Lounge. 18. I see. That would be irritating. But then like I said, the only issue I've had is loss of interest by other players, or their schedule got too busy for them to have time to post, or the creator of the rpg disappearing. I've never had others outright step on my toes in that manner. I'm use to working with people who tend to work together pretty well and for those times when we are a bit off we just make use of the edit button. Sounds like god modding if you ask me, attempting to control the rp without regard to what the others have done. It's time consuming to write up a post, so doing whatever you want like that is rude. Unless someone accidentally contradicts what you did and even then that usually only requires an edit to fix it. Anyway, it's late for me so I'll get a post in after I've gotten some sleep. Oh yeah, I guess what you are talking about is the same as some of the tasteless kill everyone off posts that popped up in FQFG that violated the thread rating as well. But then the response to that was to simply delete the posts in question instead of letting the plot be altered so drastically. lol
 19. Brianna continued working with Mike on the language of the gate until the reasoning behind why something might mean this or this started to confuse her a tiny bit. Sure she knew a fair number of ancient languages in the CIF, but beyond that? Brianna was not versed in whatever language was on the gate, nor on modern techniques for deciphering new languages. She turned to Mike as he finished speculating about another possible meaning and spoke up. "Please continue with your translation Mike." Brianna stood up. "I need to talk to Colonel DeSouza." Mike just nodded and turned back to the screen. Brianna turned around to survey the bridge, she could have sworn she heard Colonel DeSouza's voice a little while ago, but she had been too caught up in talking with Mike to be sure. She surveyed the bridge from the communications terminal that was just to the right of the main doors, both Bishop and Kendra were still at the helm, talking among themselves over something displayed on the HULD. Teresa was nowhere to be seen, Brianna thought about talking to the others and changed her mind in favor of finding the Colonel. A brief glance at the main viewer revealing that they were already in hyper drive and then Brianna turned and left the bridge. To her surprise she didn't have to go far, Colonel DeSouza was right outside the bridge finishing up a conversation with Dr. Catherine Sanderson. Brianna caught the edge of Dr. Sanderson mentioning something related to health monitors and then with a polite nod to both of them she turned and left, heading back towards sickbay. Colonel DeSouza turned to see who had just left the bridge, "Did you need something Dr. Henderson?" He stood easily, but it was clear to Brianna that his thoughts were elsewhere, perhaps on the military's side of the upcoming mission? "Yes Colonel. We need to go over just what we plan on doing when we actually arrive at the gate. I've been going over the information provided by the Creid's government and," Brianna stopped and folded her arms across her chest. "Would you prefer we take this to the conference room?" "Very well Dr. Henderson," DeSouza replied. He turned and headed for the conference room at a brisk pace, forcing Brianna to nearly run to keep up. "Do you mind?" Brianna asked a bit irritated. But DeSouza just gave her a tiny shrug before entering the conference room and then giving her his full attention. Brianna just sighed a tiny bit. "In addition to going over how we approach the gate I was also wondering what your intentions were in regards to our stop at the Creid's capital city." Brianna watched his expression but so far Colonel DeSouza was not one for being forthcoming with her. "Colonel, I'll be blunt, I've never heard of this gate before now, which means that what ever the Creid's government was using it for likely involved their military and not just exploration and expansion of their territory." "That's certainly a possibility," DeSouza replied. Brianna started to speak but DeSouza was not finished. "There's still plenty of time before we arrive at the Creid's capital city to discuss all of this but first I have other things to attend to." He didn't give Brianna a chance to protest as he was around her and out the door within seconds. She just stood there staring at the door for a moment, not sure if she had been brushed off or if he really did have something that required his attention. With a tiny shake of her head Brianna finally left as well, heading for her own quarters to go over the excavation notes in regards to the gate. It was not unusual for the very placement of how things were found to have meaning, she just hoped whoever had found it had been smart enough to document everything. Brianna had not had the time to check to see what data they had been given in that respect yet.
 20. Perhaps the two of you could clarify what you mean by 'plot theft' I believe I understand what you two are getting at, but honestly, the only issue I've ever had with an rpg is loss of interest by the other players. Please give me a clear example of what you two are talking about here. I'm sure it's fairly obvious but I wish to be certain I understand what both of you mean. My thought is you're indicating another player shouldn't come up with a different theory to essentially take over or displace what's already been speculated about the nature of the strange world, but instead should add something different that works with what you already stated GuyYouMetOnline.
 21. Just a warning people, the quality in this thread is slipping. We expect more than a simple list of shows. Try to put more into your posts by explaining what it is you like about the type of anime you've listed. Miss Anonymous's post is a good example of what we like to see. You don't have to be that detailed, but simply listing shows is spam. So please put more effort into your posts. Thanks.
 22. Face to face is my preferred mode of communication. Primarily because I like being around other people. IM's, e-mail, pm's and places like OB are my next favorite methods. I like being able to talk with people I would never get to otherwise. As for text messages? I've never used that method, it just seems so tedious when there are better ones out there. And the phone? That's like a last resort. Other than for talking to my parents. They don't do the Internet deal so if I want to talk to them it's the phone or snail mail since they live on the east side of the US.
 23. How long did I believe in things like Santa? Not very long. My parents never made a big issue out of it. We still had fun on those holidays and such but other than when I was very little, I never really believed in it. The same with religion. My parents are not religious, don't attend church and never tried to make us believe anything. Well beyond basic concepts of right and wrong as far as the law goes and treating others how you would like to be treated. A couple of my older brothers have since found religion, but me? Not thanks. I don't believe in God. I did sort of believe in faeries for a while, even though I was pretty sure they didn't exist. That lasted until I was about eight. As for Aliens, I don't really believe in them, however, I do concede that the possibility is there.
 24. Welcome to OtakuBoards emmanuel_xavier, For future reference, if there already is a recent thread on a topic, there's no need to create another one. So I've merged your thread with this one which is asking the same question. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~ indifference
 25. Welcome to OtakuBoards Dragonmanm2, First of all, just to let you know we have a section here just for requests like you have posted so I've gone ahead and moved this thread there. Also, you might want to tell people what you would like. Did you want a set from a paticular anime? Or something else? Did you want sayings on the banner or the avatar? And finally, it's usually a good idea to provide links to pictures you would like to be used for the banner and avatar. Anyway, once again, welcome. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~indifference
