Now that I've finished episode six, I've come to adore Risa. The show just wouldn't be the same without her. I've even gotten use to all her wacky facial expressions since she does them so well. She's so good at being the unusually tall girl that as you put it Fasteriskhead is trying to be a girl, just a girl, and trying to get others to treat her that way. Anyway as if finding out that Seiko is
a guy
wasn't wacky enough. Risa realizing that everyone already figured out that she liked
Otani
was fun. That whole episode with all of them trying to get her to
confess to Otani that she liked him and how he was so clueless and thought she liked someone else
cracked me up to no end. I swear, how a guy could be that clueless is beyond me, but now that it ended on the
cliff hanger of her telling him but ending without a reaction from Otani...
I really need to watch episode seven. Heh.

In unhealthy relationships, rape, abuse, other circumstances than that then it's either not applicable to have a father's consent or probably not done..
In cases that involve rape, many states already have laws that give the father no rights whatsoever.
When a child is conceived and born as the result of an unlawful sexual intercourse as defined in the code, the biological father shall not be permitted visitation. This does not violate constitutional principles. “No court has held that the mere fact of biological fatherhood that was the result of a conception during a criminal act and that is unaccompanied by a relationship with the child, creates an interest that the United States Constitution protects in the name of liberty.”
This mainly applies to the woman actually having the child of course, but in the end, even if she choose abortion, the rapist has no say whatsoever in regards to the kid. Whether she aborts it, keeps it, puts it up for adoption, etc. And in my opinion, in that situation the only thing he has a right to, is to remain silent. -
Something seemed to have distracted the bizarre robotic creatures that were pursing them. Crystia didn't know what but still in the end they were too far away from civilization to out run them. But then to her utter shock Agent Fluff let out a shrill whistle. "What are you doing? Do you want to attract their attention?" Crystia said in a harsh whisper. But what she was doing was made clear seconds later when Aaryanna shot out of the darkness and ran straight to her mistress. "Well I'll be." Webster exclaimed. "I thought she took off for good." Fluff shot him an irritated glance. "Of course not silly. Bichon's are very smart. She was waiting for me to call her back." She turned back and whispered something to Aaryanna while scratching her ears. A moment later Aaryanna took off in front of them. Easily avoiding anything in her path as she dodged between rocks and outright leaped over other things with ease. Moments later she was gone. Crystia just shook her head. "Lets get going, whatever distracted them won't last long." Fluff smiled. "If Aaryanna gets back first it won't matter. I sent her to get something for us." The three continued on their way, both Crystia and Webster wondering just what in the world Aaryanna could get that would possibly make a difference. After all she was too tiny to really carry anything, wasn't she? Crystia glanced back to see that some of the OtakuBots were starting to give chase. If what Aaryanna was after took too long, it wouldn't do them any good. But then to her surprise Fluff let out another shrill whistle. Shocked she looked back to see Aaryanna returning, a small type of rod in her mouth. "How did she manage to retrieve that so quickly?" She gasped even as she ran. Agent Fluff just laughed. "I told you Bichon's are smart. Besides they're great agility dogs as well. They're known for their speed and ability to run obstacle courses." She smiled as Aaryanna reached them with a burst of speed. Stopping to give Fluff what she was carrying. Fluff didn't waste a single moment, instantly she activated the strange rod, only for beams of darkness to fly out in all directions. "What in the world?" Webster exclaimed. Bands of total darkness were strewn all over the place, randomly covering things in huge strips. Fluff grabbed both of them and dragged them into one of the strips. "There," she said even as she let go once they were inside the band of darkness. "I don't know what those robots are, but even their sensors won't be able to penetrate spoiler tags." She laughed. 'They'll have to check each and every one to find us. Now lets get going!" Determined to make it to civilization the three took off in the general direction they had been going, careful to stay under the narrow band of darkness.

Indeed, but just for the sake of clarity, that quote was presented by the deceased family in their lawsuit, so it may or may not be genuine. That said however I do agree that if officers begin to show a loss in their objectivity in favour of sensationalism then they should obviously be removed from that assigment.
If I wasn't clear enough, that is what I was getting at. It's the police's job to take care of this type of deal and whether it would make good TV or not should be irrelevant. If that comment by that officer was indeed correct then as far as I'm concerned it's either a case of his judgment has been compromised, or he's just an idiot who doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. In the end, for the most part I've never been a fan of this type of show or the operations done to catch these predators. It's one thing if they actually arrange to meet a kid and actually show up, but to go to their home and confront them with a chat log? That's a little too invasive in my opinion. Though I suppose that would depend on the content of said discussion. Not that what they are doing isn't sick, but talking about it online isn't the same as those who are willing to actually go and meet the kid in person. Those who are willing to go that far are more dangerous in my opinion. Not that the others are any better mind you. But we have to draw the line some where. Which brings it back the point that the police should be the one's making the call not the stations who are looking for stuff that'll get them good ratings and such.

Writing The Challenge: A Survivor Story [PG

That was just as much fun as the first chapter. Heh, I love how eeevil Sandy is as he puts it and Aaryanna's temper tantrum was hilarious. But what I love best was how both BKstyles and Rachmaninoff were being gentlemen. lol First BKstyles by helping Aaryanna and Rach by running back to distract the security instead of simply snatching Aaryanna and leaving BKstyles out to dry. I mean that's what I would have done. Instead of helping out. But Rach? Even in her dreams Beth has you down pat. lol -

Didn't you find one already?
That's correct, only one answer per round is allowed. I've removed your post Sakura and edited yours BKstyles to remove the answer that was found. Remember people, you can only find one per round. ;)

I just need to finish clarifying something with indifference and we'll be set. Regardless, I'll have that to you and everyone else by tomorrow evening at the very latest. Also, I swear Rachmaninoff and Aaryanna, you two are beyond nosy. lol
Sorry about that, I thought I already sent you the information you wanted. I've now done that so we can get things going. Jared is eager for that to happen, I assure you. Well at least until other things come to light that is. lol Also... you are correct. Rachmaninoff is very nosy. :p

Good work everyone, but there are still five more to be found. ;) We've located some additional clues to help you locate the remaining items: 1 - I was official you see, pity no one seems to remember me. 2 - Am I a legend? Or am I empty? 4 - Who’s counting? 7 - Mine approve, do yours? 10 - In spite of being game, I still came in last. 1 - Located in the Art Studio. 2 - Located in the OB Anthology. 4 - Located in the Otaku Lounge. 7 - Located in the Anime Lounge. 10- Located in Hardwired. Just a reminder, this is also about how you find the information and not just keywords. To give you an example I'll explain this clue from the first round: Clue 8: Depending on your point of view. This army stands at the top. By choosing to have the Adventure Square show all threads since the forum began and then clicking on the button to sort it based on how many views each thread has had... Depending on your point of view [times it's been viewed] it stands at the top. So it's time to think outside the box since the clues are a mix of more obvious keywords and methods of how one would find the thread itself. Now as to which clue is which, that is still a mystery. ;)

I'm in agreement with Rach on this one when it comes to why America's Most Wanted isn't the same as the to Catch a Predator shows. And these quotes Gavin provided show why:
NBC was about to confront Mr Conradt with evidence that he had took part in a sexually explicit online chat with an adult posing as a 13-year-old boy.
The catching predators is sensationalism where America's most wanted isn't about catching the criminal in the act, it's about catching people who are guilty and running lose. There's a big difference between catching someone who has already been proven to be guilty vs someone who has yet to be convicted or arrested. The psychological twist of seeing someone brought to justice isn't the same at all. One is simply catching someone who is already being pursued by the law, the other is making a circus out of the process of catching them so they can be tried for their crimes.
According to the lawsuit, a police officer at the scene of the shooting told a Dateline NBC producer: ?That?ll make good TV".
That just seals it right there, the moment this type of nonsense has even the police looking at it form the standpoint of it making good tv, is the moment that officer loses his objectivity and shouldn't be assigned to that task anymore. Because he'll be biased towards cases that are more 'sensational' and that's not a good thing. It should be about catching them whether it's good tv or not.

I don't know, Premonition...I've been thinking about changing our name to FanBoards for quite a while. Then we'd have a truly fun site! :blulaugh:
For the record James... that is one retarded looking smile/icon. lol Anyway... although I am familiar with what Otaku means, I've never really considered it a serious issue as far as being used here in America. Most of the time it's used in a context that doesn't have the same meaning as it does in Japan. I think the diversity of OtakuBoards really proves that. There's so much here that has absolutely nothing to do with anime. And though I do consider myself Otaku in the sense that I like anime and such, it's far from being an obsession. And my friends who are Japanese, they know perfectly well that I'm not really an Otaku as they understand it. It's kind of a mixed reaction. Some of them think the western adaptation of the word is funny and others just politely accept that we misuse the word.

Writing The Challenge: A Survivor Story [PG

Heh, that must have been quite a wacky dream. How I manged to creep in there as the one who sent all of you to the 'real world' I'll never know. I'd rather stuff Sandy there since I got 'Evicted' over the time issue back in the beginning of the survivor rpg. It is a funny concept though. And if that were to happen... ten to one says that Rachmaninoff gets caught first. :p Oh and it's a given... Aaryanna needs to kick BKstyles in the shins. I'll be back looking for that in one of the next chapters. Heh. -
Oh the fun. Watching the two of you speculate as to what's going to happen that is. Heh. So here's a new one for you... Start wondering over just what Erica is referring to in my post. As to why those remaining factions are refusing to cooperate. It's certainly going to be fun when that paticular tidbit comes to light. And no I won't tell you... If I did... SunfallE'd probably hunt me down and smack me. lol Still the Versilan Empire is in for an interesting ride, that's for sure. And that's on top of everything else no less.

Stevens wasted no time in heading over to the Creator to where Erica was being held. Originally he had planned on waiting a little longer before talking to her, but it was obvious that if he didn't come to her, Erica was going to make sure certain information was released. Even locked up she still wielded considerable influence, in spite of what she had been doing. Many Versilans looked up to her, he had already received several petitions for her release. All of them along the tangent that she was already dying and that executing her would be pointless. And ironically he agreed. Not about freeing her of course, only that execution would be pointless. If her disease continued to progress at it's current rate, Crystal had already told him that she only had about six to eight months left. And speaking of Crystal, as he passed the last security checkpoint before getting to Erica's cell, he ran into her coming from the other direction. "Cyrstal," He nodded as she came to a stop. "I take it that you just finished with a treatment?" "Correct. Erica asked for you again, though she didn't give me any information beyond that." Stevens grinned. "Then I won't keep her waiting any longer." With a slight bow he continued on his way. Pausing only briefly in front of her cell to enter the access code. When the door opened to admit him, he entered immediately, taking note how Erica was situated on a reclining chair that must have been brought in from her personal estate on Reflection. "It's about time you finally showed up Stevens. If I didn't know that you were understandably busy, I would wonder about your ability to handle an interrogation." Erica raised her chair up to put herself into a sitting position. Noting how Stevens carefully took a seat on the edge of the bed, facing her. "Now, now Erica. You have kept everyone quite busy you know." He grinned impishly. "If anything you've only yourself to blame for the delay." Stevens leaned forward a bit. "But that's not why you've been asking for me now, is it?" "Indeed, it is not. Now that you've dealt with one of the traitors as well as Sandra's father, it's time to start looking at returning control to the High Council." She gave him a knowing look. "Once you finish investigating the remaining twenty since their faction leaders have refused to hand over their master code." Stevens just raised an eyebrow at that statement, "I can see that I need to change the crew who is seeing to your care." Erica just laughed. "Honestly Stevens, I don't need to talk to anyone to know what's happening. About the only thing I could not know for certain is whether or not the High Council would have been successful in suppressing the information. But seriously, just as you have used the others to maintain control I have made sure to use others to undermind that control." "And why would you do that? Things are being investigated, two members of the High Council have been executed for their crimes. Isn't that what you wanted?" Stevens shook his head a bit. "If you really think this is going to end in the lesser races being freed you are mistaken. The changes you were working on in regards to families will still happen, but that's it." "On the contrary, I am talking about preventing Civil War among the factions. Freeing the lesser races is something that even I know would require phasing out, but if you don't see the dangers of war breaking out then everything I've done here will be pointless." Erica stopped for a minute to shift in her seat. "I know which faction members have not given up their codes." Erica rattled off the names, smiling at Stevens tiny look of surprise. "Now, what I'm telling you is there is a reason why those four, in spite of the threat of being handed over to Jared have still refused to cooperate." "And that would be?" Stevens asked her. Erica smiled, "I think it will be more fun for you to discover that for yourself. Though I will give you a hint. Have Crystal test the genetics of all of their relatives, the answer is there." Stevens stood up to leave. "Very well, I'll do that. Now if you'll..." "One other thing Stevens," Erica interrupted him. "I'd like to meet Celestia and Jason, if you could arrange that please." "Whatever for?" "Consider it a last request if you will. Whether or not you choose to honor it is up to you." Erica leaned back tiredly. "Its a curiosity really, nothing more." Stevens just stared at her. Why in the world would she even care about that? He tried to gauge what she was thinking but her expression was guarded. "I'll think about it." He finally said. "Fair enough." Erica turned a bit to the side, pulling up a blanket to cover herself, clearly done talking. With a shake of his head Stevens left. He would have liked to ask her more but it was clear that she was not going to deviate beyond what she wished to talk about. And it was unfortunate but he really didn't have the time to discuss things at length with her. And just what in the world was she referring to in regards to the family and relatives of the remaining factions? Having Crystal test all of them would take time. Not all of them would even have their genetics in the main data banks for the Council's close family. After all once the relation reached a certain point as far as how closely related they were, other than to be connected they were too distanced to even be considered as a potential candidate for becoming a member of the High Council. Just what is Erica hinting at?

Do you just post to disagree with me Crystia ? I'd have thought a mod would have better things to do. :p I'm just kidding.
You mean you only just now realized this? :p [I kid]
Seriously though I agree with everything you'd said about The Wind Waker, it was an utterly awesome game, but if we're to look past graphics at pure gameplay, because, to quote Kill Bill's Bill, I am all about the old school, then Ocarina of Time is the superior game. That said, people should just buy both and get a double helping to LoZ goodness.
Besides, in case you forgot, I did say I like OOT better. I was simply pointing out that people bash TWW and yet fail to realize what a great game it is. I've beaten it three times since I got that much fun out of playing it. And in a while I'm sure I'll beat it a forth time. Since I like the option to replay with certain features available that weren't the first time around. Like
having all those conversations in the ancient language acutally make sense. That was a fun little bit to add in my opinion
And yes I definately recommend both games since as you put it, it's a double helping of LOZ goodness. In fact I need to actually finish the Master Quest since I got stuck and never went back to playing it.

I can't imagine not having easy access to some sort of beach or coastline. Having lived in one suburb that was quite far from any water (in Queensland), I really had a feeling of isolation almost. I'm not sure how to describe it, but there is something almost liberating about being able to see the ocean. *shrug*
Well, not having easy access to an ocean is just the norm for a lot of Americans. And I really don't remember the beach all that well. Sure I've seen one a few times, but I've never really gotten to go to one and spend time there. I certainly want to. However, since I've lived around mountains all my life, being in an area that is for all intents and purposes flat, has a similar effect. It feels like you're in the twilight zone after a while without those huge peaks in view. And just seeing them, especially when you have time to go hiking and such, has a very calming and soothing effect. ;)

I won't argue, it is nice, even if I did have to remake my banner from scratch. lol Still it was fun to do so and having that extra space did make doing more of what I wanted to do originally possible. So you have my thanks as well Des.

I would have sooner, but some of those clues you've come up with are wicked hard Aaryanna... or maybe I'm just a little dense. :animesmil
It was deliberate actually, both of us tried to make clues where at least some of them weren't totally obvious. And since people seem to miss it, it's not just about keywords but also about what method one uses to search. I would imagine that most people just use keywords to search and yet there are many other ways to sort information here at OB. So some of those clues have nothing to do with the actual thread but rather how one would find that thread. ;)

Can we drop the argument about generalizations and turn the discussion back to the original topic, please? Thank you.
As well as not backseat modding either. Thank you. Also, generalizations are part and parcel of the misunderstanding about drugs in the first place, so to ask people to drop part of the whole argument around them is a bit unrealistic. Especially when people's opinion about them stem from those generalizations running around. -
Let's talk about drug addiction(very serious discussion)
Horendithas replied to FLCLrules's topic in General Discussion
Well... In the interest of being fair to those who think only losers do drugs... It is how a lot of schools and parents portray it. So it is understandable that they would think that. Though one would hope that once people get a little older they'll decide for themselves just what they really think. And I'm not saying you guys don't think for yourselves, I'm just saying I can see how kids get that idea in the first place. lol That and some of them just might have seen someone self destruct from using drugs so it just might not be as naive as you're thinking TherapySessions, that too is an assumption. -
Well first of all I like the sketchy feel to her braid and hair and facial features like her eyes. The colors are nice and have a good feel to them. The one thing that does seem off is that blue background, it does bring out her eyes, but at the same time it does seem a bit too strong and seems to clash with the other colors. Perhaps if you lightened it a little? Regardless, nice job on that.
-

That said, I agree with Blue Jihad, OOT pwns TWW. Haven't played TP yet so I can't give an opinion there.
Only if you're blind. :p Even though I like OOT better than TWW... Tww in it's own way, especially with the more cartoonish graphics, it's quite epic. The graphics were engaging, all the funny expressions were fantastic, the quests to not only find the maps for the tri-force as well as the other aspects of the game, was a lot of fun. Toss in good music and fun new characters and it was more than worthy to be a part of the Zelda series. That and I loved all the fun new equipment you got to play with. So regardless of what anyone says, if you do get a gamecube, Tww is definately one of the games you'll want to get.

And not that I support the guys, but I kind of feel sorry for them because those Decoys are really leading them on... I understand the purpose but seriously, some of those men wouldn't ever be tempted if it weren't for that damn show
Not that I think they got what they deserved, but no. The idea that the show tempts these people to become sexual predators is complete and utter BS. About the only good that show does is perhaps a few of the less sick ones might change their mind for fear of being caught publicly on the show. Besides, it's just as you say, those who really are predators eventually do get noticed, though I assure you I'm not at all surprised at how many there are out there. Kind of sad really. As for the show itself? It's sensationalism garbage in my opinion. I have no problem with the police handling such stings to catch predators, but that sort of thing has no business being handled by people who really aren't trained. NBC is after viewers and ratings instead of any true form of justice. Was the guy a victim? If he really was trying to meet a minor for the stated reasons, no. And you can't say the show tempted him because the harsh truth is he still choose to take part in the conversations, had he not done so the show would have never even known who he was. It still shouldn't be handled by people who's only interest is in getting ratings for their station though.

For the most part I don't really remember my dreams, sure I do when I first wake up, but later in the day I've forgotten and moved on. And only occasionally do I even remember what the dream was about. Of the ones that I do remember, there is one that I keep having every so often and that is me finding a hidden room in the home I grew up in. Every so often I have that dream and find the same room. The only problem is that where the room is in the dream is outside of where the house ends, in order for it to be real at all, my parents house would have to have another section added on to it. And for whatever reason I always find the funniest stuff in that hidden room in my dream as well as the same furniture and such. And the location of this hidden room is always in the same spot in each dream.
