This isn't so much a bug per se as it's a problem getting a new member set up. My little sister in law is visiting and when she tried to sign up, she accidentally typed in part of her e-mail wrong. She put aol.com instead of aim.com. The system let her change it but when she tries to get it to resend the validation e-mail The system just hangs and does nothing. I can pull up her account myself, but we haven't really gone over the mod tools so I'd rather not play with it just yet since it's obvious that it's quite different. That and I'm not even sure if what I can access will even let me get that validation thing sorted out. So Des or James, if you could take a look, I'd appreciate it. User name: Selene Shri Oh and she'd ask herself, but since she's not validated, she can't post yet so, I'm doing it for her.

And I miss the OB blue. Indigo was nice but slightly too dark for me. Either way I'm sure it will be fun to see the new colors once they have time to get around to it. Oh and James. Don't forget to have a catgirl emote in there somewhere. lol

I prefer the landscape sizing and have voted to that effect. I don't see a problem with increasing the size a little bit since the signatures did get a bump in size already. I'd probably go with 175 x 100 or 200 x 110. Or rather something that is an increase, but not too much of one.
So, what? You decided to take away even the last bit of Art Studio activity by making a Desktop thread in the lounge while they've been in the Art Studio for years? Pfft. Still using Vista? I'm on XP here. Also, I don't have enough powers to move this over. :^D
I have the power so... moved.

I figured it out. lol I was changing it back before I logged in. I left it alone and simply logged in this time and poof, it changed right to basic. So I'm good.
Already did that Gome. Problem was when I reopened my browser, it defaulted back to the Orange one, which I don't like.
You can change skins with the little drop-down menu in the lower left corner of pages, just like before. And you no longer need to set a default in your options. The drop-down selection will be saved until you change it, even if you log out. I like XL Basic. The bright orange of Wet Paint is too much for me.
Sounds like I'll have to change my default loading url for firefox since it clears everything when I close it. Otherwise I'll get that orange every time and I'd rather not. =p EDIT: or not, the URL is identical. =/ Which means I'll have to switch it every time. That bites.
-
Okay, where do I set it to basic. It's defaulting to the other when I come to log in. I looked but I'm not seeing where to set it. I don't really like the Orange look to be honest, so I'd rather not need to switch it every time I log in.

There's News and then there's 'News'.

tl;dr Or in other words I was doing the same as Sangome. Snerking over Rach's name being mangled is far more entertaining. But to be slightly on topic... I'd like to say I care, but I don't drink soda so I don't, plain and simple. That and I already know not to take a source like this too seriously. I already expect it to be slanted to a certain extent. :p -

I decided to hold out on that break and try to finish things. I just recently reached the Sky dungeon. While I've yet to really get into this dungeon I am starting to think this is a bit excessive in a sense. Honestly, it feels like it could've been wrapped up after beating the Temple of Time dungeon.[/font']
Once you get a bit further into the dungeon, you might change your mind. It's quite different for even a zelda game, won't take you long to see why. The boss fight is a bit anti climatic, but getting through the dungeon itself is wicked fun. You'll see what I mean once you get a certain item. :D

I had a N64 but it died on me. Nathan has one though so at least I can still play the games if I want. He also has the SNES, which still works. Then there is the Gamecube, PS2, the PS1 died as well but since the other plays the old stuff it doesn't matter. And then last but not least, my computer. I want to get a 360 but right now I'm looking into getting a car so that will have to come first.

Some exceedingly polite young lady or gentleman at my school just texted me to helpfully inform me that I have the appearance of a homosexual and am obligated to trim my facial hair. Why is there no block option on my phone and why can I run a search, but the results cost me?
I wouldn't call that polite. lol Simple solution, text them back and tell them there's no need to be embarrassed over being turned on by your sexy appearance. Be sure to follow it up with a smile like this: ;D

Anime The state of anime in the U.S. and abroad
Horendithas replied to Dragonboym2's topic in Otaku Central

Sellout. :flaming:
Says the one who sold his soul to Gavin. :p stararnold, your point about having the means to rent anime is a good one. But Sabrina was pointing out how customers are used to being able to watch something for free. Sure they pay for the TV or for perhaps a cable service. But there are no rental fees involved after the initial investment. So that's good for someone who is really into anime, but for the casual viewer who just catches whatever is on and follows what they like, they're unlikely to ever bother with a service like that. Though I suppose that is why Funimation has a certain amount on their website you can watch for free. And with it being streamed it means you pick a time that's best for you. And that's probably why they're still one of the companies around. They may have not liked it, but they have tried to meet the change in how people get their anime fix as it were. -

It wasn't over yet, no matter how much Kendra wished it was. There seemed to be some new arrivals who were helping the civilian groups escape. At least she assumed they were newly arrived since unlike the others, it was obvious that they weren't exhausted from fighting. She couldn't imagine Morty holding trainers back if they could have been keeping the city from being overrun in the first place. So they had to be reinforcements. It made sense, to her, that help would have been requested as soon as possible. It was comforting to know that assistance had arrived, however, the urgent clamor of more air raids behind them made it clear that the invaders had no intention of letting them slip away, reinforcements or not. She didn't need to turn and look to know that more of the trainers were being taken down. Nor did she need a breeze to clear the smoke enough to show her that they were moving swiftly around the fallen tower to cut off their retreat. It was only a matter of time before they did just that. Kendra was exhausted. She had been on her feet and running about all morning. Smoke was making her cough and getting into her eyes, making her even wearier, and with every step it seemed like the weight of the pokeballs she was carrying in the bags increased. If she was this tired then those who had been fighting all this time had to be worse off than she was. She spared a brief glance behind her, but smoke made it impossible to see the store. She decided it was better that way; she didn't want to see what had become of it. Tears threatened to spill forth and she shoved them back. It wasn't easy, Kendra still didn't know if her parents were okay or not. She had looked when she could, but had seen nothing. She took a couple of deep breathes when they halted briefly, though it did little to ease her weariness. When they started up again she spotted a familiar face among the trainers holding the escape path open for the evacuees. She didn't know him personally, but she had seen Terry many times at the store. He was always making sure the squad he worked with had everything they needed to take good care of their Pokemon. She felt oddly comforted to know they were doing their best to get them out of there, and at the same time it made her anxious for all of the trainers who were risking their lives so they could get clear. Once again she pushed the feelings aside as best she could. Tired or not, she couldn't stop now. She held the straps to the bags she was carrying tightly and hurried as best she could.

It's really quite simple. It's called casual dating. You go out to have a good time without expecting to fall in love or to have any 'fringe' benefits as a result. You're simply looking to get to know people and make friends and if something else comes of it, you take it from there.

So... I talked to Ace and Korey and I was going to post when I finally finished my Thesis (which I did). But I got hit with a serious case of the 'do not want to do anything' mood and couldn't find myself motivated for nothing. However that is fading and I will get my post up so Korey can follow on what I do. I'm mainly posting here so you all know that, yes I am alive and, yes I will post. :p

I prefer mindless violence that can be found in video games to drinking. Works great for stress, but not so great if one is feeling down. I actually tried it a few times because I was curious... nothing really strong just a glass of wine. But, I have no tolerance for alcohol, and the so called 'lighter' stuff was more than enough to get me wasted. So I don't drink, I'd rather not find out what something stronger would do. Haven't touched the stuff in over five years and don't plan on it.

Anime The state of anime in the U.S. and abroad
Horendithas replied to Dragonboym2's topic in Otaku Central
I have just the video for this:
If we stop bootlegging, and fansubbing we could save anime from dying. If we don't, by next year there be no anime at all. Please try to spread the word. We can save anime from dying. If we ban together, we can make a difference.
Only one problem with this, it goes on the faulty assumption that bootlegging and fansubbing are the only factors in the decline of anime. The problem is far more complex than that. It's a combination of those issues and people moving on to other stuff and no longer watching shows and therefore no longer purchasing them. Plus the economy and job stability has been up in the air and prices for everyday common goods like food have skyrocketed in the past couple of years (probably more than just a few), while pay rates have been slashed and raises outright dropped. It's impossible to spend money to support an industry when your own needs come first. Food, medicine, a place to live, those needs will always come before purchasing luxury goods like anime that aren't necessary for living. The only thing in danger of dying out is the old system of distribution and the harsh reality that things change. Anime had a huge boon and now that boon is facing a complete change in how entertainment is obtained and spread. And it's not at all unusual for one type of entertainment to have it's ups and downs or to outright die when something else takes it's place. Anyway, some groups, like Funimation, were smart enough to start moving to accommodate those needs by providing episodes online and making it easier for the fans to access things that way in a legal manner. Others however, would rather whine and moan and blame all of the fansubbers instead of looking to meet the change. So is it dying? It's possible. Does it matter? To be honest, I don't think so. Anytime a paticular form of entertainment declines or drops off, something else always shows up to take it's place. -
If this story is realistic in any sense of the word, I would imagine that battling Pokemon on the level required to be one of the elite, would be much like the Olympics. Only those with the best understanding, training, experience and skills would ever get that far. Everyone else would be doing it as either a hobby or pastime and the other vast majority of the population would be living their everyday normal lives. Which most of the time wouldn't include any form of fighting whatsoever.
