Well my ride is this: The light rail system that runs through parts of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah and south through a number of the other surrounding towns. But more importantly, in my case, just a few blocks from where I live. It also conveniently runs directly to the University of Utah where I'm a student. The service runs every fifteen minutes so you never have to wait very long, and unlike buses it gets the right of way over traffic lights so it's quicker. Eventually I want to get a car, but right now it just seems like a waste of money when this is so close and convenient. And the last couple of years the state of Utah has had a deal where having a student ID gets you a year pass to ride them for free. So no upkeep required, no being gouged by gas prices, getting caught in traffic, etc. Definitely a great deal if you ask me. Oh and that's not a joke with the name on it. Sandy is the end of the line as it's one of the towns south of Salt Lake City. ;)

Violation Detected?Rule Three Of Prohibited Actions Has Occurred? Dafine had barely uttered the words that the dart was poisoned when Alcuin nó Prideux vanished before her eyes, just as Serena had. But this time, no one took his place. With a hiss of anger she whirled to face Sastasha. Furious that the shape changer had struck already. I should have killed him when I had the chance! ?What did you do with him?? She hissed furiously, only holding back from attacking due to Etamet who was still keeping an eye on her. ?You don?t fool me. I know you did something, just as it was probably you who made sure it was I who was poisoned.? Just then Dafine was interrupted as if from everywhere the same distorted voice they had heard from the screen when they first arrived spoke: There will be penalties for those who act in a way that the CCC does not allow. Remember? we are always watching you. ?I knew it!? Dafine yelled. ?You?re the one behind everything!? She tossed the dart to the floor. No longer caring if the others didn?t believe her. She would not drop her guard around the shape changer. ***** Alcuin nó Prideux barely had time to register that Dafine had been poisoned when suddenly he was in another room all by himself. Easily over a hundred feet wide and long with a dome shaped ceiling. The walls made of a dark metal material. He was wondering just what had happened when a huge screen lit up on one of the walls and a voice spoke. ?Alcuin nó Prideux. You have acted in a manner that violates the Central Command Center?s rules. For your crime, you will face a punishment of the Panopticon.? ?Huh?? Alcuin said stupidly. ?I haven?t done anything.? ?Your punishment will last 12 hours by the CCC?s time. For your crime you will face trial thirteen.? Alcuin protested again that he hadn?t done anything; try as he might, he couldn?t think of a single thing. But the voice did not answer. The screen switching to a countdown of the time even as the sound of something mechanical starting came from behind him. Startled, Alcuin turned around and stumbled back fearfully. Slamming painfully into the wall behind him. ?Hell!? He exclaimed. ?You?ve got to be kidding me!? For in front of him were five mechanical spiders about the size of a small salad plate. Where had they come from? But more importantly, Alcuin shivered, he hated spiders as well as most insects. It was one of the things he had loved about exploring in the Antarctic and running dog sleds. He didn?t have to come face to face with his phobia for insects, especially spiders. Alcuin froze in place, his heart pounding wildly. Even if they were mechanical, just watching them creep around was making him sick with fear and loathing. Perhaps if I stay still they won?t notice me. He thought, even as he looked around the room for something to defend himself with. To the right in the far corner it looked like there was something lying on the floor. It looked like a metal bar of some kind. Slowly Alcuin started to shuffle sideways, doing his best to be quiet. He was halfway there when his shoe caught on the floor making a slight scuffing noise; Alcuin froze as the spiders instantly turned towards his direction. ?No,? He whispered to himself in horror. Hoping they would not realize that he was there. It was a hope that was in vain as all five immediately came after him. ?Fuck!? Alcuin screamed in frustration as he abandoned being stealthy and ran as fast as he could to grab the metal bar. It was a type of crow bar, but completely straight. He snatched it up and turned just as one of the spiders was jumping to attack him. With a scream of rage and fear he struck out, sending it flying into the wall when the bar struck it. The spider broke apart upon contact. He did his best to control the paralyzing fear as the others leapt for him as well, swinging the metal bar wildly, smashing them in a frenzy. His hands shaking as he did so. Three more were flung into the walls to break apart, but the fifth one landed on his right leg just above the knee. Before he could even register that it had landed the spider's metal stomach opened and a stinger shot out hitting him on the knee causing him to scream in pain when it electrocuted him. Alcuin?s fell to his knees as he frantically pulled the spider off and then smashed it with the metal bar. Slowly he got back up, tears running down his face as he took a tentative step. It still stung but it seemed like he would be alright. But then a panel in the ceiling opened and five more mechanical spiders dropped into the center of the room. Alcuin froze yet again. But it made no difference. As if they knew where he was they immediately headed for his position. No. He thought with despair. Not more of them! With a sob he readied the metal bar, his eyes catching the screen on the wall with the countdown, only thirty minutes of the twelve hours had passed. Why? Why does it have to be spiders? "Damn you! He screamed, resisting the urge to head over and smash the screen. Even as his heart began to pound painfully from the rush of fear as the spiders headed for him. He stood there trying to ready himself, trying to tell himself that he was not afraid. He broke out in a cold sweat as the first spider came into range. Jared was in the observation room on the Creator with Sandra. She along with Darren would be attending a type of ball at the university on Reflection later that evening. As a result they had been going over the security that would be in place for the evening as well as the details in regards to Kerstin as surprisingly she had not listed an escort when asked. Though that made things simpler since Jared wouldn't have to check anyone out. "Well, now that we've gone over all of that, how is your investigation coming along?" Sandra asked as she shut down the terminal in the desk she was sitting at. "It's coming along nicely. Several of Blaine Uratak's associates were only to happy to tell me what I wanted to know." Jared said with a wry grin. "They couldn't talk fast enough. As a result I've already secured confessions from both of them in regards to how Blaine shifted his fortune to save his own neck. As well as some other interesting details." "Oh? What would that be?" Jared laughed, "That fool was stupid enough to help Daedalus shipping with their profiteering, I now have the records showing that he deliberately lied about holding supplies for Daedalus in his own personal storehouses in sector five. The computer specialist on the Conqueror was able to find evidence that the records were tampered with. That when he claimed the storehouses were empty they were in fact full." Sandra leaned back and folded her arms before replying, a look of irritation on her face. "That was most unwise of him. Even if he were not guilty of conspiring to kill Darren, that alone is enough to arrest him for high treason." She shook her head, "Were you able to confirm anything else?" "I'm currently working on tracking down the people he inserted into the Internal Security Forces. Blaine's associates did not know who they were, but they did filter the money for Blaine to pay them. I also have the records for those transactions as well. The specialist on the Conqueror is also tracing where that money went to. If it runs into a dead end I'll simply arrest Blaine for the profiteering since that's more than enough. However, I'm also tracking down the channels he used to transfer his fortune since he bankrupted millions of his employees when he did so. Lying to them about the trust funds, claiming that they were lost when Daedalus shipping was exposed. But it looks like he had someone on the inside move the money and alter the records to match to make it look like it was Daedalus instead of him. I can only imagine that he did it since he knew that once the money was frozen it would have been seized and distributed first to the employees who were innocent and then the rest used to pay back those who were gouged by the profiteering." Sandra just sighed, "Some people just never learn do they? It never fails to amaze me at how many of the wealthy think they are above the law." Jared just laughed again, "I know, it is supremely ironic how arrogant some of them become. Which is why I am waiting on the other information since I'd rather bring him up on all the charges instead of just the one. He used Daedalus to keep the money for himself, helped them with the profiteering and plotted to kill Darren. I suspect that when the time comes even the Elite military who will be arresting him would rather slit his throat. And just to be sure I've already issued the order that if he attempts to leave sector one, Blaine is to be arrested immediately. I have no intention of letting him run and hide. Elite Commander Dakar even agreed to assign some of his men to keep an eye on Blaine at all times." Sandra stood up to leave, "Good. Now getting back to the ball later this evening, are you going to be able to escort Kerstin like you planned?" Jared stood up as well, "I've already made the arrangements, all I need to do is contact her." "I'll see you later then since I have some things to take care of before I can go." Sandra nodded and then left the observation room. A few minutes later Jared did as well, first he would need to contact Kerstin and then he too would need to take care of a few things before he could head out. Hopefully in a few days he would have the rest of the information on Blaine. If not, well it wouldn't matter. Either way Blaine would be taken care of.

Gaming 5 Worst Voiceovers In your Videogame history
Horendithas replied to Nomurah!'s topic in Noosphere
For the most part I'm pretty indifferent to voice overs in games. Probably because some of the ones people complain about the most I've never really played. That and since it's a game I usually don't have high expectations to begin with. Though I do not like high pitched squeaky voices. It's like every game has to have some high pitched voice somewhere. I think the only one that didn't get on my nerves was Lucia from Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. Or Ruby the red dragon in the same game. Her irritating squeaky voice actually fit her personality. lol
1. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean - Okay, all the VO in this game is absolutely terrible, but this game holds the single most reprehensible iteration in any game to ever be brought overseas and mangled by idiotic VOs. It's in one of the scenes where Kalas is remembering being picked on for having one wing. One kid keeps calling him 'one wing' or whatever and then the other opens his mouth and says in complete monotone... 'you should be in a circus. Nyah.' He actually verbally said the word 'nyah' in complete monotone!!! you really have to hear it to believe it.
Actually I don't really hate the voice over in this. It's the horrible odd sound mixing decisions which made the already stilted characters sound as if they're speaking underwater. Or metallic. I could have tolerated the voice overs just fine if they hadn't sounded funny to begin with. -

And i collected over 40% of the battle trophies but I need to get the rest! Isn't there another difficulty level after Universe? I got the trophy but I'll be damned!
There is, the 4D level, the hardest one. But you need 195 Battle Trophies (65%) to unlock 4D. If you only have 40% you've got a lot of trophies that you still need to earn since 40% only translates to about 120 of the 195 battle trophies that you need. What you got only unlocks the ability to use the first three different outfits on your characters during battle. Provided you collected the necessary trading card that is.

Before Jared was recruited to work as Sandra's second in command, he had been specializing in military investigations. Specifically in interrogation techniques. Working in tandem with those who specialized in gathering the necessary evidence to prove someone was guilty. After what Commander Alan had done to him when he was a kid, Jared had become driven in his desire to find and deliver punishment to those who were guilty of acts that were considered treason. What Alan had done was not considered treason, but that did not matter to Jared. Anyone who would rape and torture a child was in Jared's eyes, scum. And since he could not stop people in a position of power from doing to children what had been done to him, Jared instead would find other illegal activities that they were involved in as those who got pleasure from abusing children often had expensive habits, habits that required illegal activities to support them. Jared did not care that others were trying to get him dismissed or in trouble. He lived for each target, for gaining the information necessary to put an end to their excess, as well as for the enjoyment he got out of torturing them personally. Before long he had developed a reputation of being horrible, cruel and vicious. A rumor that was true, for if one was guilty, Jared had made sure that when he was done, they were practically begging to be executed, if only for the interrogations to end. Truthfully Jared had expected to eventually be framed by someone and then either imprisoned or executed. There were too many powerful corporations as well as people within the different military forces and political structures that ran the Empire. Jared had expected to end up dead instead of being recruited by Sandra and then eventually being the second in command for one of the fleets flagships. Just as Sandra was one of the youngest Commodore's ever, so was Jared one of the youngest to serve as the second in command of a flagship. And just like when Darren had been given the position of Shipping Expert, there were those who were furious when Jared had gotten his latest promotion. Though those who opposed him were smart enough to keep quiet about it. But those who disliked Darren were not so smart. When their formal complaints to the High Council were dismissed many of them had started plotting against Darren, enough that a few had already been caught and dealt with. But the High Council was sure that there were more and Jared agreed. When they had arrived in sector one and he had attended the meeting the next day, his part was but a formality. One where he was given the authorization codes to move against the more powerful politicians should the need arise, as well as authorization to use some of the Elite forces responsible for security on the home world. Jared wasted no time at all, he had read the information on those who were under suspicion as well as the preliminary reports done by those who were investigating things before it was handed over to him. It was Jared's belief that Blaine Uratak, a very wealthy and powerful politician from sector five was involved. When Darren had exposed Daedalus shipping, Blaine Uratak had nearly been ruined. And though he had managed to shift his fortune, at the expense of millions of employees who were ruined in the process, he had still lost a lot of money. But like so many who were greedy Blaine had stayed in sector one, intent on keeping his position of power, to continue representing sections of sector five, even though the people in that area wanted him to step down after what had happened. It was a move that would be his undoing since Jared, with the help of the computer specialist on the Conqueror had already gathered enough evidence to round up a number of his associates. As soon as he finished with their interrogations he would move in and arrest Blaine Uratak. The moment when Blaine realized that even his power would not protect him was a moment that Jared was looking forward to. With a smile, Jared continued sorting through the data the specialist had got him. Putting it in order to present to the High Council, proving without a doubt that not only was Blaine, Uratak guilty of plotting to assassinate Darren, but of so much more as well.

Another thing you might want to consider Beth is that in the final level of the
Urssa Cave Temple, level three, you will be facing Fayt who will be at level 160 and as a boss he will have one of Fayt's strongest battle skills. Etheral Blast.
You can go ahead and do the first two levels if you've already done the first bonus dungeon like you mentioned, the
Maze of Tribulations.
But you might want to save the last level of the
Urssa Cave Temple until you are about one-third of the way through the Sealed levels of the Sphere company.
It's an excellent place for leveling up your characters, since believe me, when you get to the top of those levels, the final bosses will make everything else look like child's play. Anyway, my point for recommending you do part of it before the final level in the
Urssa Cave Temple
is that on
level 114 you'll pick up the Huge Folio that will teach Fayt the Etheral Blast skill.
So you might want to do it that way to better prepare your party for the final fight in the
Urssa Cave Temple, otherwise, Fayt's a pain in the butt to kill.
Also the nice thing about the
Sealed Sphere levels
is that every time you go up a level, it is locked into the elevator's memory, allowing you to then take the elevator all the way back to the lobby to simply save the game, customize your characters, etc. And then when you're ready you can return to the level you visited instead of having to go through all of them again. Now as for the final boss in the
Maze ofTribulations
I agree, he was a pain in the butt. About the only good thing, well besides finally kicking his butt that is...if you don't get wiped out, all those KO's will start adding up to earn you two battle trophies. The first one where you are Incapacitated 20 times and then eventually the second one where you are Incapacitated 100 times. Sadly I've already earned those battle trophies. XP

Violation Detected?Rule Six Of Prohibited Actions Has Occurred? Nadia?s group didn?t even have a moment to register what had happened. Desmond whirled and launched himself at Julian. ?You MotherFucker!? He screamed as he slammed into him and started punching him wildly. ***** Nadia Dylenda was in darkness, lying flat on her back. What the? How did I get here? She thought as she started to get up. She had only made it to a sitting position when she was blinded by the light from a screen lighting up on a wall in front of her. ?Nadia Dylenda. You have acted in a manner that violates the Central Command Center?s rules. For your crime, you will face a punishment of the Panopticon.? Nadia froze, terrified. But I didn?t tell the others that I?m a Druid! She thought wildly. How did they find out? Did they read my mind? ?Your punishment will last 12 hours by the CCC?s time. For your crime you will face trial twenty one.? ?What?s wrong with you?? Nadia cried out even as she got up. ?I haven?t done anything wrong!? But there was no answer, only the sound of lights turning on and a rumbling sound as the floor she was on started to sink. Nadia whirled to look behind her. She was in another room altogether one of metal walls and floors. In addition to the section she was standing on other parts of the floor were sinking, leaving square columns about five feet apart. With a startled oath she quickly climbed up onto one of the columns. At five feet by five feet there wasn?t a lot of room to maneuver. Now what? She wondered even as she looked down. Nadia could no longer see the floor and the outer walls had moved further out as well. There were about twenty-five platforms in all, in an evenly spaced grid of five by five. Nadia didn?t need her skills as a ranger to tell her that something was going to happen. And sure enough several panels opened in the ceiling and two dark elves dropped down onto columns in front of her. Shocked at seeing them Nadia took a couple of steps back and nearly fell off the column she was on. Dark elves? My enemies? How did they get here? Nadia instantly reached for her weapons, but other than her short knives she had none. Hell! She pulled them out just the same, going into a defensive crouch as she watched the pair warily. There was something wrong with them. Even though they looked like her enemies they had a flat empty look to their eyes. ?Pretty elf,? one of them hissed at her. ?We?ll show you a good time before we slit your throat.? Stung Nadia stepped back. What is going on here? Have they been driven mad by this place? Surely she had heard wrong. The dark elves who were her enemies would have never threatened her they would have simply attacked her immediately. She didn?t have time to wonder what was wrong as they came at her, impossibly quick as they leaped from the platform they had landed on to where she was. Nadia dodged to the right when the first one landed on the platform she was on. With a swift blow she hit him on the back of the neck with the pommel of her short knife, knocking him head first over the edge, even as she slashed with the knife in her right hand forcing the other to dodge. But as she moved to force the remaining elf over the edge, the sound of another one landing on the column behind her caught her attention. Damn! She thought as she quickly moved and jumped to another column and turned to face them. Behind them she could see the screen on the far wall where she had first appeared. It was displaying the time she had left. Only fifteen minutes had passed. Even Nadia knew that she lacked the stamina to last for another eleven hours and forty-five minutes! Movement brought her back to her immediately situation as she focused on the Dark elves. Both of them rushed her attempting to pin her down but Nadia was too quick, swiftly sheathing her knives and moving to the left and nimbly jumping to the next column, twisting as she landed to immediately leap to another one. But as she landed one of the dark elves did as well, grabbing her right sleeve and throwing her off balance as she leaped for the next column. With a startled shriek she slipped and nearly fell into the darkness as she missed the column, her fingers barely catching the edge. Quickly she pulled herself up only to have both dark elves land on her back before she could do more than get onto the platform, knocking her flat on her stomach. She screamed in rage as they pinned her down and then grabbed her shirt and tried to tear it off of her, their hands searching for her short knives as they did so. Nadia struggled furiously and managed to twist free just enough to grab one of them by the arm and pull, throwing him off balance, giving her the leverage she needed to roll onto her back, pulling her short knife free as she did so, slashing the other one?s throat before he could react. Nadia ignored the blood that sprayed all over her as she kicked his body over the side along with the other one who got in the way. Breathing heavily she stood up as two more dark elves dropped down from an open panel in the ceiling. The screen behind them showing that she still had eleven hours and thirty minutes left. Violation Detected?Rule Four Of Prohibited Actions Has Occurred? Brittany Cossentine had not even taken more than a few steps when she vanished, leaving both Shilos and Desmond who had started following her standing there, wondering what had happened. ?Brittany?? Desmond looked around. How could she have vanished? ?Where are you?? As if from everywhere the same distorted voice they had heard from the screen when they first arrived spoke: There will be penalties for those who act in a way that the CCC does not allow. Remember? we are always watching you. Penalties? ?Wait! What are you talking about? Brittany didn?t do anything!? Desmond yelled, ignoring the rest of the group who had come back to see what had happened. ***** Just as Brittany had suddenly found herself in this strange place, she once again suddenly found herself in the middle of a huge square room with no exits, roughly fifty feet long and wide. She barely had time to register that she was no longer with the others when a powerful bright light from the ceiling turned on shining directly down on her. The same distorted voice she had heard on the screen when she arrived spoke as if from everywhere. ?Brittany Cossentine. You have acted in a manner that violates the Central Command Center?s rules. For your crime, you will face a punishment of the Panopticon.? Brittany tried to open her eyes against the harsh bright lights blinding her, tears streaming out of her eyes as she looked around to see who was there. ?What are you talking about? What rules?? ?Your punishment will last 12 hours by the CCC?s time. For your crime you will face trial thirty seven.? The bright floodlights turned off and a loud mechanical sound was heard as every other tile on the ceiling vanished and was replaced by what appeared to be sprinklers on a new section that came down about a foot from the ceiling in each spot. Nervous, Brittany started looking for a way out, wondering if they were going to fill the room with blood like they had before. But as a humming sound was heard and sparks started to fly from what she had thought was sprinklers, she was no longer sure what to expect. A moment later an arch of electricity flew from several of them and hit the floor, one of them close enough to brush her painfully. A moment later another set of electrical bolts was released from different points in the ceiling. I?m supposed to dodge these for twelve hours? She thought as yet another set of bolts was released. ?But... I didn?t do anything!? She said to herself, even as she tried to watch the ceiling in an attempt to predict where the next set would strike. But even as she did so, sections of the floor opened up throwing her off as she hastily shifted to avoid falling into the opening that had suddenly appeared in front of her. Brittany barely had time to register that the bottom was filled with snakes when the electrical bolt she had been trying to avoid hit the back of her left leg, causing her to scream in agony as the powerful current ran through her. Brittany fell to the floor hard, knocking the breath out of her, barely avoiding falling in another pit, one that appeared to be bottomless. Sobbing she got back up limping a bit from where she had already been hit on her left leg. As if to add to the horror, on one wall a huge screen lit up showing a count down of the time remaining. Only five minutes have passed? She thought with despair. How can they possibly expect me to last twelve hours? The thought occurred to her that the best path would be to stick close to the walls since the pits seemed to be towards the middle of the room. Dodging would be easier if she didn?t have to worry about falling into one of them. But even after she spent close to thirty minutes dodging the electrical strikes as well as avoiding the pits, when she finally make it to one of the walls... Brittany was immediately caught off guard when a set of razor sharp spikes shot out several feet out of the wall in front of her, nearly catching her in the chest, one of them grazing her left arm painfully as she dodged to the side, right into a bolt of electricity as it came down from the ceiling. This time it caught her left arm, right where she had been cut. Again she screamed in agony when it hit, causing her to collapse, unable to stop herself as she teetered halfway on the edge of yet another pit. Then when the pain began to recede she finally managed to move away from the pit, trying to catch her breath, as she desperately got back up. A moment later, clutching her left arm where she had been cut and electrocuted, Brittany stood there, tears running down her face from the pain as she looked over at the screen again. Time seemed to be moving in slow motion as only thirty-eight minutes had passed. I?m going die, she thought as she barely avoided another set of electrical bolts. I can?t possibly last another eleven hours and twenty two minutes! She looked at the walls, afraid to go near them, the pits just waiting for her to fall in, and the bolts of electricity as they struck the floor in what appeared to be random strikes. Am I in Hell? Brittany wondered. Manga What do you look for in a manga's story?

in this case, Ranma does a much better job of all elements. It's funnier, the romance is more realistic, and the action scenes aren't a completely boring waste of time, though that's all just my opinion.
Try saying this after you've read more than the first volume since forming an opinion on less than 10% of a series isn't really accurate. Saying Ranma does it better is meaningless since you yourself have already admitted that you only read the first volume of DNAngel. How can you say the romance and action scenes are boring when you haven't even read most of them? You've read volume one, well come back and talk after you've also read 2-10. Also...This applies to all of you. Leave out the direct attacks towards each other. I don't want to see any more of stuff like this:
We are not here to criticize what people like and enjoy doing in their spare time. Stevens was sitting in the command seat overlooking the bridge of the Conqueror. In just a few minutes they would arrive at the home world in sector one. Even if things had not gone as well as he would have liked, with the destruction of the three bases on Earth and the capture of Jason and Celestia, it did not matter. Even the message that a ship had approached within transport range of Earth shortly after they left, opened a transport door and immediately left did not matter. The fact that they had bothered to do so only told him that the Resistance's ability to work on Earth was over. As much as he would have loved to stick around and continue the hunt for Daniel, it just wasn't possible to keep the flagships tied up for that long when their presence was no longer necessary. And now he was certain that Daniel was no longer on Earth anyway. "Sir, we've re-emerged into real space." His second in command asserted, even as the view on the main screen switched to one of the home world, the surrounding moons and the fleet that was in the area. A moment later they were hailed. "Put it on screen." Stevens ordered. "Yes sir." The man replied even as his fingers flew over the controls. A moment later a representative of the High Council appeared. He wasted no time, immediately speaking up. "Welcome home Fleet Admiral Stevens. Commodore Sandra. In addition to sending you the vectors for your flight path and final orbit path around our home the High Council wishes for me to remind you that the briefing in regards to sector thirteen will be held first thing tomorrow morning at 0600. Both Jared and Darren are required to attend as well. Also, the requests for short leave for your crew for Reflection have been approved, you may start sending groups at 0700 tomorrow morning." He paused looking from side to side, just as Stevens did as the screen was split, showing both the representative as well as Sandra who was on board the Creator. A moment later the message received chime sounded, indicating that the flight vectors had been received, without a word Stevens and Sandra's second in command entered the information and both flagships began to head towards the home world, passing by Reflection as they did so. And then finally settled into orbit around the planet. "Understood, representative," Stevens said. "Any other information that we need to know?" "No." He said and then after a pause. "Again, welcome home." The transmission ended. Leaving Sandra still connected. "Well you heard him Sandra," Stevens said with a wink. "I'll see you tomorrow morning." He ended the transmission and then got up for a moment to address the crew. "Excellent work everyone. As you heard short leave for Reflection as well as the home world has been approved. I've already posted the list, if anyone wants to switch slots just take it up with my second here." Then with smile he turned and left the bridge heading for his quarters. It was a pity he wouldn't have time tonight for anything fun since he had far too much information to do a quick check on for tomorrow's briefing. Not only would they be covering what had happened in sector thirteen, but they would also be going over the plans for tracking down William as well as finding out how the explosives for the attack in sector seven had been obtained. Two Elite Specialists were already on part of the task and were off in both sectors four and five, tracking down leads. And when they had stopped briefly, the Council had informed him that Kiva was going to be sent to check out the facility where the explosives were made in sector seven. In fact she along with her crew Daego had already left for sector seven before they arrived. And now that they were here, he would be re-organizing the fleet as well as working on tracking down some potential information leaks within the fleet's own security. Even if they had caught Celestia and Jason, the Resistance was still using the program they had created to get into the updates. That would end soon, and as he walked towards his quarters he pulled out his hand held computer and made a note to make sure to check on the progress of their interrogations. Once Dakar got the program out of them he would need a copy of it. Stevens entered his quarters and immediately headed for his workstation. But before he did anything other than to turn it on, he went over and fixed himself a drink. Then he walked back and sat down, pulling up the information he needed. As he started reading it a thought crossed his mind. One that it was a pity that they didn't have more Elite Specialists like Kiva. The others were good, but she was better. And as he looked through the information and saw that both Kiva and Daego had been given a week off with pay he smiled, pleased that someone had made sure they had been rewarded for their hard work. Then he went back to reviewing the information, making sure everything was ready for tomorrow.

Manga What do you look for in a manga's story?
Horendithas replied to kaekara's topic in Otaku Central
I have really weird taste in manga.

how popular or how original something is has nothing to do with wether you like it or not. If you like nothing but CLAMP and Shounen Jump manga, for instance, that's your own perogitive (sp?) but at least admit that you aren't 'weird' for liking them. THAT's the part that set me off.
She was saying that her taste was weird and depending on what she normally likes that may be true you know. ;) I think you read to much into that statement. Since for all you know, her tastes may be completely different so for her those manga may be weird because it's not what she normally likes. There's also the factors of what's popular among one's friends or the area they live in, etc. So if you consistently like stuff that others don't it's going to seem weird to you even if it isn't. The question of whether or not it really is weird is irrelevant if you think about it. Where I live, there are quite a few people who think anyone who likes anime in any form is weird and a pervert, a sex offender as well as a delinquent who needs a life. It doesn't make it true though. lol -
Manga What do you look for in a manga's story?
Horendithas replied to kaekara's topic in Otaku Central

As for DNAngel, I will admit my only experience with it was volume one of the manga, which I bought around a year and a half ago. Everyone was giving it all these reccommendations, and I decided to check it out. I thought it was boring, not funny, the heist scenes sucked, the love story was unrealistic and cliche, the characters were uninteresting, and that it was all-around double plus ungood, plus it never really got anywhere. It had it's first plot twist before it had even become interesting, and I couldn't bring myself to care enough to look at volume two.
My experiance is from reading through volumes 1-10. And recommendations are only good if it's the type of series you like after all. lol There's plenty of well liked manga's that I find boring, like Naruto or Bleach. I hate action manga since I prefer to see it animated instead of reading it. But that's personal preference, not an indication that the manga is bad. And cliched? Again, it's pretty damn hard to find something that isn't cliched and even then, done before still doesn't mean boring or uninteresting. If you don't like it, it certainly isn't going to bother me any. Or rather it won't change my opinion of liking it. Since your take on it is still your opinion and not an indication of whether or not it really is as bad as you portray it to be. ;) -

Also, I seem to be the only woman alive that doesn't think Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom is hot.
No you are not alone. I think Depp's a good actor but hot? Meh, not even close. And yeah I agree about Shrek, two was more than enough. I guess I should have mentioned in my previous post that I have no intention of seeing that one either.

Manga What do you look for in a manga's story?
Horendithas replied to kaekara's topic in Otaku Central

DNAngel is VERY cliche. It is made up of four general plotpoints. 1.) a romance story, but you said it has nothing to do with it, so I'll leave that out. 2.) A kid who tranforms into an older guy, which has been done before (if you want, I could go find some examples) 3.) the whole 'master theif' thing, which I think was pulled off terribly since the heists are probably the most boring part of the story. and 4.) a love triangle/square/pantagon/whatever shape you feel describes it. I can't see anything unique about it.
Are you talking about the anime or the manga here? Since there's a world of difference between the two. The manga is quite a bit better than the show and has yet to even finish. If you're talking about cliched, in my opinion the actual show is far more into that role than the manga is. Which by the way is far from boring and does have some unique qualities to it. :p Even the romance as you put it is a bit different since in the anime only Diasuke
has a sacred maiden where in the manga both of them do.
How about you actually get those examples you are talking about? Since done before doesn't necessarily mean cliched. Also, the 'master thief' bit isn't the main story here, the issues due to Krad/Dark
being from the same dark art is.

I wasn't trying to insult you - yeah I was probably quite a bit condecending, but that's just me being an *** XD
If you don't want to insult people, quite being so abrasive and calling things 'boring' or 'cliched' based on your personal opinion. And stop being an *** as you put it. :p It's not necessary to respond to someone's post just to make assumptions about what they think that aren't correct. Nor is it necessary to announce, oh by the way, what you like is cliched and boring. Which is what you sounded like in that post of yours. -
Just a heads up everyone, when I put my next post up, either later tonight or tomorrow. At that point the two flagships will be arriving at the home world in sector one. I figure that would put their arrival about a week after Crystal's and probably around four to six days after Kiva and Daego have left for sector seven. If anyone has a problem with that timing just let me know and I'll work around whatever you have in mind.

Truthfully I'm not looking forward to any of them since nothing has really caught my interest lately. However, seeing that Rach and my other friends love movies, I'll probably end up seeing all of them since we usually go to one at least twice a month if not every weekend. Well other than Transformers. I never was a fan of that. So I have no intention of watching it.

Yes and no. I enjoyed the previous Die Hard movies, especially the first one. But I'm wondering if they should have ended it with the third one. However, having seen the trailer and that a number of the scenes look pretty cool I'll probably end up seeing it. And if it turns out to be stupid, I can always hope that at least the action will keep me entertained.

I just noticed this (because I'm so perceptive and all), but a lot of people on the 'boards have crushes on anime characters. I have never had one on an anime character and I'm incredibly interested in knowing why someone would find a 2-dimensional image of someone they've never met (and know doesn't exist) to be an object of desire. Its just odd to me. Have you ever had a crush on an anime character and why?
Well I've never had a crush on an anime character. But I can imagine why people would. Not only do they probably have characteristics that they admire, but they are safe. At least in the sense that they will never meet them and have their view of how they really are shattered. There's no danger of meeting them and finding out that they are a jerk instead of as cool as you thought they were. You can keep having the fantasy of what they are. Though one would hope they eventually outgrow the phase of crushing on anime characters. It seems silly to me since they aren't real and as others have mentioned I think it's more of a liking the author's skill type of deal than a true crush. You like how they created a character that seems so real that emotionally on some level you feel connected to them.

My name always gets messed up. It's Crystia. But in no time at all people change it to Crystal, dropping the i and adding an l. Enough that I've gotten use to being called both. Occasionally people even call me Ceresta, though how they manage to get that is beyond me since they aren't pronounced the same. But yeah, my name always gets slaughtered.

Long weekends: I love having a school schedule where I have four days in a row off. Especially after the previous semester was full time. Summer: Because after feeling cooped up from winter I love getting out again and going places. Places that before were inaccessible due to the snow. I love going hiking and spending those long weekends outdoors. Sex/Cuddling: Because both are great. Especially when it's someone you've grown fond of. And sitting together on the sofa just to cuddle and watch a movie is great. Video games: I love it when I actually have time to play them more often. Getting off into RPG's is great fun since often I don't have time to get into a game that requires more than an hour or two to play. Lots of other things too, but those are my current favorites for putting me in a good mood.

Anime Your "To Buy" list? (anime and manga edition)
Horendithas replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
My to buy list is pretty short actually since I haven't been collecting a lot of anime or manga lately. For anime about the only one's I'm collecting is the rest of Moon Phase and Scrapped Princess. What I really want to get is Banner of the Stars III (OAV) one of my favorite series. But it's only just been put out in Japan in the last year and I haven't heard of any plans for it to come to the US any time soon. Which sucks since I want to see how they resolve the growing relationship between Lafiel and Jinto. Oh and I do pick up the newest releases of Case Closed when they come out since I like the short mysteries in this series. As for manga, I'm only collecting two series at the moment, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pieces of a Spiral. Yu-Gi-Oh since I rather like the manga of this series since it's far darker and more interesting than the mutilated anime version and Pieces of a Spiral since even though the story line is a bit slow, I love the artwork for it. But other than that, I've been to poor lately since college is eating up a lot of my money. Even with scholarships that help pay for a good amount of it. Once I finish and get a paying job though, that list will probably change.
