1.
Also, doesn?t Nel?s voice sound familiar? She reminds me of the character from Outlaw Star who played the female assassin Twilight Suzuka that ends up joining Gene?s party in that anime. And the guy Norton, doesn?t he sound like Katsuhiko Jinnai from El Hazard? Hehe I just cracked up when I heard his voice as he?s so crazy in that anime! Wait, I just checked and it is the same guy! LOL! No wonder he sounded so familiar. Hmm, and it seems I was right about Nel, it is the same person from Outlaw star. ^_~ Some of the other voices sound familiar but I?ve yet to place them.
All this time and I never bothered to check it out. I guess I shouldn?t be surprised since many voice actors do far more than just anime. There?s a non-playable character later on disk two that does the same voice as Jim from outlaw star as well. He does the voice of Flad in Star Ocean. Pity he?s not a playable character as I?ve always thought he does a good job with voices. I believe he also does the child voice of Mithos in Tales of Symphonia as well. Anyway, it?s a pity this game is single player only. Sometimes I wish games like this were multiplayer. Just think of the fun you, Aaryanna and I would have playing it together. ;)
  2.
Does anyone else here have big feet, like size 12 [13 US'] and find it hard to get comfortable shoes ?
I have the exact opposite problem. I wear a either a 3 or 4 depending on the maker of the shoe and most stores tend to carry women?s shoes in sizes 5 up. And if they do carry the smaller ones, they get only a few and they disappear quickly. I?ve often had to get children?s shoes instead which sucks and the selection is of course for kids. I?ve had to rely on ordering online and hoping the size fits since many stores don?t carry what I want. Though most of them are pretty good about swapping sizes until you get what you want, it?s just annoying to wait for the next one to arrive in the mail. So ironically I have about ten pairs of shoes since they are so hard for me to find. I have three sets of sneakers, two sets of hiking boots, three sets of sandals and two sets of nicer looking dress type shoes. Hmmm?I guess I should say I have thirteen pairs, but my slippers tend to be the sock type as those are so much easier to find in the right size. As for the poster?s question as to what type of shoe I use to be, well seeing that I tend to take my shoes off the moment I walk in the door I?d have to say I?m a barefoot type of woman who never was a type of shoe as I hate wearing shoes for any longer than necessary. Except for sock slippers. I love wearing those, especially the ones that are fuzzy inside.
  3.
Though I would pay money to see Papa choke all the cosplayers as Darth Vader.
I was thinking the same thing. ;) Anyway, upon re-reading her article, even though she?s claiming to be upset with those who are more obsessed, it?s obvious that on some level she dislikes anyone who is fascinated with other cultures and she?s just using those who are more obsessed as a platform to launch her opinion. In all honesty right now she?s more scary than those people who are obsessed with another culture. At least they don?t come across as wanting to strangle you for not liking it as much as they do. Where she sounds like she would happily throttle you to death with out a second thought.
  4. That was quick. Not that I mind. I like how you changed this part:
?The thought had occurred to me, it would explain why her information is so detailed. I?ll make the interrogations my priority and with your permission I?ll send down several level one scout teams to check into this further.[/B']? He said.
Before you had Jared indicating that it hadn?t occurred to him that Celestia had been used by the resistance and it just seemed that if he really was second in command that he would have considered such a possibility regardless of whether or not he thought it was possible. So I like that as it flows a little better than the previous version where he didn?t think of it. Anyway, keep up the good work. ;)
  5.
My question is: what do you think about it? Do you think Jenn (the original poster) is overreacting? Do you feel attacked? Do you recognise that some people really are nuts for all things "exotically Japanese?" Does it kind of creep you out? Where do you think the line should be drawn (or is drawn) between appreciation and appropriation?
On some level I think she has a point as I?ve run into a few of those over obsessed fans of anything Japanese, and others obsessed with other cultures as well. However, the strength of her reaction is putting her in the same light as she is being just as obsessed with being irritated over it as they are with being obsessed with the Japanese culture. And in all honesty I?m not sure why it really bothers her as it just seems pointless to get so upset over something like that when your anger over it isn?t going to change their opinion however sad and misguided it may be. Do I feel attacked? No. She was referring to those who are obsessed with the culture, not those who find it interesting and enjoy aspects of it. There?s a big difference between liking Japanese stuff and being obsessed with it and since I?m not obsessed her rant was not directed at me. Does it creep me out? Not really, I don?t understand such obsession or getting so upset over someone else having an obsession, but I don?t find it creepy. As for drawing a line, if the obsession is interfering with your regular life, then yes a line needs to be drawn. I?ve known a few college students who attended school, got the loans, dropped out, but kept the money to buy tons of anime stuff to fuel their obsession with Japanese culture. So if their obsession has reached that level they definitely are taking it way to far.
  6. I took a look as well and if BlueEyedAngel was being rude, well his fellow race did a good job of nitpicking his grammar apart and closing the thread. So they might have even removed any posts that were derogatory towards us as well. Who knows? And quite honestly, who cares? No matter where you go, somewhere online you?re going to run into someone who?s a jerk, and to be fair, even though BlueEyedAngel?s views are quite different, they have been very polite and civil the entire time they were here in this thread. As for the topic, I?m only sorry I missed the special about them as it would have been interesting to watch.
  7. Welcome to OtakuBoards Fox Heart, You are correct in that this is not the correct place to post a fan fiction. The correct place would be here: OB Anthology However, since all threads in that section have rules that must be followed, which include giving your fan fiction a rating I am going to go ahead and close this as you will need to re-post it with the correct rating anyway. I suggest you take a moment to become more familiar with the Rules and FAQ located on the left side of the forum and any other rules pertaining to the section you wish to post in. So be sure to take a look at the sticky located in OB Anthology before you repost this thread. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~indifference Thread Closed
  8.
It?s interesting to hear you say that about the one character. So far everyone I?ve showed it to has said the same thing. I?ll tell you this much especially since this next chapter is going to make it clearer anyway, you are correct, he does enjoy tormenting others. But as for the details?just take a look. ^_~
Because even though Jared?s a bit predictable he?s still a fun character. In a mean sadistic kind of way that is. But then every story needs a good villain right? Though I?m getting ahead of myself. I don?t even remember what chapter it was when you made it quite clear that he?s one mean little shit. Anyway, once again good job on breaking up the conversation and paragraphs to make it more readable. Just don?t keep us waiting so long between chapters and we?ll be set. ;)
  9. I actually do not have a preference. I usually watch the dub version and then later I?ll go back and watch the subtitled version to see the difference. Sometimes I?ll end up liking one more that the other, but with how most DVD?s now have both when you buy them you don?t have to choose as you get both. And if you don?t like one then it doesn?t really matter as a simple change has the show playing in which every format you end up liking best for that show.
I was surprised to hear many people like the dubbed. Note that I'm not against anything, just want to hear people's opinion.
I?m often surprised by how people won?t give the dubs a chance. Many of the animes being translated have much better dubs than they use to have. And with DVD being the main format it?s so easy for companies to provide both on the disk when you buy it. Besides, stop and think about this. If you watch very much TV then you know that unless you are on a specific channel that provides subtitles, pretty much every channel is broadcast in the language that is common to that area. If subtitles really were popular, more channels would be broadcasting shows in the subtitled format instead of in the dubbed. And companies would not bother to pay voice actors to do the voiceovers if there wasn?t a demand for the service.
one reason that I don't like dubbed ones is that the new voices are too different from the original voices. There are a few exceptions but in most cases, it makes me feel weird to hear voices that don't really match the characters' atmospheres. Yeah, ofcourse one person is speaking Japanese & other person is speaking English, so I'm sure it sounds different, but coundn't they try to find a person with similar tone of voice?
I think r2vq covered this already, but there isn?t any comparison. The very nature of how the language is spoken makes using similar voice an unnecessary expense as they would have to find someone who sounds like that and even then it?s no guarantee that they can act. Trying to find someone who sounds similar would be like trying to get them to have a fake accent, like the fake British or Southern accent. Anyone who is familiar with it is going to cringe since it won?t sound natural. And another thing, unless you are fluent enough in Japanese and their culture, how would you even know if the voice actor they chose is any good? It?s easy to think the original is better but the reality is that they might not be any good and we lack the ability to even hear the difference.
  10.
I assume that my house exists. I can prove it in this or that way, by taking a picture of it or looking at the bill for the home sale or by touching it. I cannot prove that it exists ABSOLUTELY: the picture could be doctored, the bill a forgery, and the house I touch an elaborate fake (one thinks of the man who had all the things in his home replaced with exact duplicates).
I think it?s safe to say that pretty much everything can?t be proven absolutely, but proving your house exists is far easier and it exists on a much more believable scale than to say that God exists or that Heaven or Hell exists. Which is why I was arguing that compared to proving your home religion was more of a faith issue as many levels of religion are believed in because the person has faith that they are indeed real. It?s something that unlike the home is not provable on any level. At least at this point as I?ve yet to see anything that proved Heaven was actually a real place and not just one that people think exists. Or that God is real instead of people thinking He is real.
As for the cult thing, while there have been plenty of hucksters out there who started their own movements to hoodwink dupes for sex and money, your interpretation isn't exactly what I meant in that section. I can't completely clarify myself here, but I'd say this: I think understanding religion as "belief" (and that means as something cultural, subjective, etc.) puts us in the very real danger of thinking we've figured out the religion thing, don't need to worry about it, and can pick and choose the "values" we like versus the ones we don't... when in truth, religion in a more fundamental[/I'] sense has swallowed us whole.
Cults are very similar in my mind which is why I was using it as an example. Religion has in many ways been used through out history to control other people and I was trying to say that by claiming certainty over something that in all reality is not certain was simply another means of trying to make something that wasn?t real, or rather provable as being real, as something that is in fact real. When we don?t know for sure if it really is. I think the reason people say they believe is on some level they are desperate to be right and yet saying they believe is more accurate than saying religion is a certainty. Now if you are talking in the sense that because it is so prevalent and widespread that in that respect it is a certainty. Then I would agree as pretty much everywhere I go I am certain to run into some form of religion. ;)
  11.
So religion. Why do you believe what you believe. What faith or religion are you? Were you raised in that religion or did you decide to start following that tradition? If you started following a new religion when did you start and why? Do you feel that you identify with a certain religious group? Are there beliefs in your religion that you feel are out dated? [/color']
Right now I do not belong to any faith. My parents are Catholics, but they have always been rather indifferent and rarely attended church even when I was a child. In fact other than formal occasions we never attended anything. My mother and father both came from very religious families and once they were married they decided that since they both didn?t care for it that there was no need to attend. Something that rather frustrated their parents. So now even today I really don?t believe in any religion whatsoever, in fact most people consider me an atheist other than the fact that I don?t necessarily believe there isn?t a God but rather that there is nothing that proves there actually is one. I?m not certain that one doesn?t exist as my ability to determine that is not possible. So I guess I?m saying I?m open to being proven wrong since right now I think there is no God. The other questions don?t really apply since I never attended enough church to even know what being a Catholic is about. I know more about the religion where I live, which is LDS/Mormon than the religion that I was a member of as a child. So I don?t know if there are aspects of it that I would consider outdated. I do know of aspects I consider outdated in the LDS/Mormon church, but I was never a member of it.
I think ChibiHorseWoman and I has just lit one of the largest flame fields in forum history. :nervous:
Just do a forum search using the word religion as a key word and you?ll find that this topic has come up many times under many forms. ;)
I also have a problem with complacency. Just because there is a possibility in your belief system that, eventually, your deity of the moment will impose his will on the Earth and you will end up in some kind of a utopia (Heaven, a New Earth, whatever) doesn't mean that you should not do as much in your power now to make this world as good for us as it can be.
Same here, I run into people who are waiting for what they consider the promised days and I?m baffled as to why they just can?t work on making things better now instead of waiting for someone to do it for them.
Oh, and please don't flood my PMbox with attemps to "save me." That's the one thing I can't stand about most religious people... They seem to think that they're obligated to 'save' everyone even if 'saving' is the last thing we want. I attribute the whole thing to the original creators of religion wanting to spread their message as fast as possible to galvanize a group of people to one belief so they could be united under one banner for some war or another.
I?ll second that. It?s never been an issue here at OtakuBoards, but some of the previous forums I belonged to. Well, it did get kind of old. And ironically I believe exactly the same, I think it comes more from the original creators of a religion, who were most likely a human (mind you this is only my belief) trying to get everyone to follow them. Not necessarily out of any real desire to save you but to use you for their own purposes.
Religion is not about believing, it's about certainty.
I?m probably going to be taking you out of context, but if I?m understanding you correctly, I don?t agree. Taking your argument about believing aside, unlike the question of your name or your home, which are provable, by either a document showing your given name or by actually touching the said house. Religion though taken as a certainty is still something that is believed in by faith. The person has faith that God or Jesus exists. They have faith that Heaven and Hell are real. And though they may be certain, it is still in the realm of faith in the sense that they can?t physically prove it like you can prove that your house exists or that you were given the name you use by your parents.
The Latin word religare means to bind, to secure in place. We[/i'] are not the ones doing the binding; we do not choose our religion, and actually it's closer to say that our religion chooses us. We sophisticates think we've gotten rid of the gods, or at least made them into something we can "choose" to believe in or not, when truthfully they might be ruling over us now more than ever.
It makes sense that they would use such a word. If you were faced with something that was un provable you would want your followers to believe that it was already proven. In a sense it reminds me of a cult in that often the words chosen by their leaders and used to describe their religion are carefully selected to make it seem as if the leader is infallible and unquestionable in the sense that they already know the truth and therefore are certain and have no need to prove it. They make it seem as if our choices were already made and that regardless of our beliefs we are a part of the religion whether we want to or not. I hope I made sense with that statement. It?s just that often religions do the same thing, they are so certain that they are correct that they have lost the ability to even question.
  12. Welcome to OtakuBoards MasterYoda389, Just a friendly reminder that reading the Rules and FAQ located on the left side of the forum is a must for all new members. Upon re-reading such rules you will find that threads such as this which only advertise another site are strictly not allowed. So in addition to closing this thread I have removed the links you provided. 13.
There has to be some pleasure involved with you watching the series you choose to mention here, even if it means admitting that you have bad taste to the world. Or at least OB. You also have to recognize the fact that the anime in question (either completely or kind of) sucks. It's not a guilty pleasure if there's nothing to be guilty about.
Alright, time to admit my guilty pleasure, though since I?ve posted in the thread on it I suppose it?s not a new admission. Anyway, mine would have to be Wedding Peach. Although it doesn?t completely suck, it?s definitely lacking in some area?s as it?s a bit clichéd in that there are a number of anime?s out there that have a similar format, but are equally as sucky. So it lacks originality in that respect. And yet it spite of that I find that I enjoy watching the episodes and get a kick out of watching the corny love angels defending the love wave. Even the tacky British accent for some of the villains just can?t stop me from getting a kick out of this show. Or the cheesy voices for some of the main characters. Ironically the very last season or rather OVA is where the series actually starts to shine as the main battle is out of the way and the new transformation sequences and music is much better than the rest of the show. And the episodes are some of the funniest in the entire show. So naturally at that point it ends. Usually it?s the other way around, a show starts good and ends poorly, instead of starting poorly and ending good. Anyway, it?s enough of a guilty pleasure that I?ve collected the entire show on DVD and occasionally pull it out to watch again. And in spite of knowing it?s a bit sucky and corny I still like it the next time through.
  14. Being over weight has never been a problem for me. I?m not quite five feet tall and weight about 115lbs. My biggest problem is keeping weight on; primarily because I?ll get busy with school and work and completely forget to eat during the day. It?s not on purpose; I just don?t get hungry around lunchtime. My parents worry about my health so they often send me protein bars and snacks for me to carry around so that I?ll always have something to eat if I need it. Now if I can just remember that I have them in my backpack and I?ll be set. I usually do when I notice that my pants are getting on the loose side, so I make a point of eating them during the day since at that point it usually means I?ve dropped around ten pounds. I always hear how it?s hard to lose weight but for me it?s often hard to get those ten pounds back on since I dislike a lot of the more fattening foods and it?s harder to gain from the usual veggies, whole grains and lean meat that I prefer. So in short usually twice a year I have to force myself to eat more to put it back on and once the weight?s back on I end up going back to what I usually do and then four months down the road it starts all over again. I suppose I should really work on not missing lunch so I can quit having to do the gain the weight back thing. It?s probably not healthy that I?m losing it in the first place.
  15.
I can already tell that the section on inventing and such is going to be one of my most used sections of the guide. ^_^
It will definitely come in handy, especially once you beat the game and work on the bonus dungeons. Some of them are pretty unbeatable without the ability to customize your weapons and armor. And being able to make the best accessories and potions is pretty handy as well. I also like how you can make your own food once you?ve invented it that is. Especially since some of the items only have a limited number go on sale once they?ve been developed and once you buy them they never sell them again. So it?s nice that you can create them whenever you want, provided you have the money that is. Though once you?ve beaten the game, especially if you leveled up, you usually have plenty of money for that kind of stuff.
Anyway, as for where I was, I got back to Aquios with the copper and then boy did things change with the next section! I loved the cut scenes associated with it. ^_^ Since I make a point of never reading too far ahead in the guide or online it made a nice surprise as I didn?t know exactly what was going to happen.
I?m the same way, I like my games to be full of unexpected stuff so I rarely read further than I need to when playing a game. In fact unless I get horribly stuck I?ll often beat a game first and then play it a second time with either a guide I bought or an online one to catch everything I missed. There were several times where this game completely surprised me since other than to research how the game play went and the basic storyline, I avoided reading too much as I didn?t want to spoil it. It kind of takes the fun out of it if you already know what?s going to happen. At least that?s what I think. Just another reason to love spoiler tags, that?s for sure.
And those magician ones are downright annoying! I can kill them, but they sure are a pain in the neck, running around poking your characters and interrupting them when they are attacking or using symbology.
Just one of many irritating monsters, and once you get strong enough to outright clobber them, they just spring a new irritation on you in the form of an even more annoying monster.
Play it! Play it! Play it! You don?t want to be known as a chicken do you? :p
Well now that you put it that way?I have to play it! You?re a cruel kid...you know that right? ;)
  16. I?ve a quick question here, are we waiting on people to modify their posts so that they don?t meet the chancellor like you requested James? Or has this rpg pretty much died? I?ve been checking back but so far people haven?t edited their posts so I was holding back on it. I?ve even already got a partial post ready, but if the characters haven?t met the chancellor yet it kind of contradicts what?s currently going on. However, it?s been a month since then so I was wondering when it was going to get rolling again.
  17.
Not to interrupt your well written retort but that's a bit off. Hess had nothing to do with the genocide against the Jews as he was in British custody from Spring 1941 onward. He is an amusing side note to World War 2 where Hess, for some reason, simply got in a plane and flew over to Britain, parachuting out of his plane hoping to secure some kind of dramatic peace treaty between Britain and Germany, lol.
By all means if I'm getting my history a bit confused, do interrupt. I?d rather know that I got something mixed up than to continue thinking something is correct when it?s actually inaccurate. So thanks. ;) So I take that part back, but my dislike of the group still stands as that was not the only reason I felt that they are racist and not just a group that is for being proud to be white. And since I already explained that in my previous post?I?ll just leave it at that. Minus the correction of course.
  18.
I'm a huge fan of Japanese anime, and also a hardcore white nationalist. Yes, it is indeed possible to be both.
Since I am not a hardcore white nationalist perhaps you could explain why being one would mean you can?t like Japanese anime? Or is it a we will only watch entertainment created by other white nationalists like myself sort of thing?
1. I opposed the FORCED integration of people of other races AGAINST their will.
Then perhaps the whites should not have made black people slaves and therefore forcing them to be integrated with the slave trade run by whites. Part of that is their own fault, they choose to enslave another race, or rather other humans who simply looked different than they did, and if they had not done so it would have kept the forced integration of other races down. At least for a while. Those who had slaves lost the war and therefore any right to keep them separate and isolated from the rest of humanity. They are human beings not property to be cast aside and they have ever right to be here as you or I do. After all being dragged to America in the first place was against their will so it?s only fair.
2. I prefer the company of people of my own race. This does not mean that I have no friends of other races, it merely means that I am more comfortable amongst my own kinsmen.
Just think of all the fun you?re missing out on by sticking only to what you are familiar with. I shudder to think how long the dark ages would have lasted if we had kept up the idiotic idea that separation was better instead of open communication and sharing of ideas between all humans. Hopefully this is not news to you, but quite a few things in the world were not invented by whites. Think about that if you will.
3. I do not believe that inter-racial relationships are bad or wrong, however, they're not for me. I like white girls with blue eyes and blond hair, that's my preference.
You?re right they are not bad and for some people it really isn?t for them.
4. Let's face the truth, our country was established by whites. For those of you who disagree, would you care to explain who it was established by?
You?re right we should face the truth and that means you need some history lessons as others have already pointed out that though whites did come to America they used slaves to pretty much do most of the work. So in reality both established it. Slaves or not, they pretty much kept the country running with all their hard work. Just because someone comes up with an idea, unless they do it all by themselves they cannot take full credit since they didn?t personally do everything. So unless you can prove that blacks did nothing, it was not just established by whites.
5. The immigrants coming into our country today are not of the same stock as the people who founded this country and who have been the majority of the population for the last 230 years. Immigration is contributing to the balkanization of America.
How would you know? Have you actually met each and everyone of them? This is something that you really can?t prove since despite what is written in the history books you have no way to prove how much of it is true. In fact the ?stock? as you put it might even be far better than it was in the beginning.
6. When Indians have a sense of identity, it's called culture. When blacks have a sense of identity, it's called pride. When Jews have a sense of identity, it's called history. When whites have a sense of identity, it's called racism.
Only when you?re insisting that you are somehow better than other races. Other wise you can call it history, pride or culture.
7. It is the racist who will exploit people of other races for his own benefit; it is the nationalist who will sacrifice his own self for the rest of his people.
The problem here is you are describing how whites use to be, after all they enslaved black people for their own benefit. If they really want to be known as a nationalist then why are they for segregating the races? Why are they not sacrificing their time and money to make the world a better place for everyone?
I've been to their website, and according to what I read, there is no hatred for other races, merely a love of there own race. It's my opinion (I could be wrong) that you guys reley too much on what you get from the mainstream media. Try to be open minded. If you are to condem these girls, you should at least know what it is that you are condeming.
Then perhaps you should take your own advise and look further into the history of these girls? Right now you too are relying on mainstream media produced by them instead of trying to find out why others condemn them. It usually takes more than a simple misunderstanding to create such a strong dislike of a music group. Perhaps some examples would help. Take Songs like "Sacrifice" ? a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer ? clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing. The lyrics praise Hess as a "man of peace who wouldn't give up." I suppose you?re going to tell me that murdering Jews was peaceful? Or how about this information about their group?
Prussian Blue supporter Erich Gliebe, operator of one of the nation's most notorious hate music labels, Resistance Records, hopes younger performers like Lynx and Lamb will help expand the base of the White Nationalist cause. "Eleven and 12 years old," he said, "I think that's the perfect age to start grooming kids and instill in them a strong racial identity." Gliebe, who targets young, mainstream white rockers at music festivals like this past summer's "Ozzfest," says he uses music to get his message out. But with names like Blue-Eyed Devils and Angry Aryans, these tunes are far more extreme than the ones sung by Lamb and Lynx. "We give them a CD, we give them something as simple as a stick, they can go to our Web site and see other music and download some of our music," said Gliebe. "To me, that's the best propaganda tool for our youth." Gliebe says he hopes that as younger racist listeners mature, so will their tastes for harder, angrier music like that of Shawn Sugg of Max Resist. One of Sugg's songs is a fantasy piece about a possible future racial war that goes: "Let the cities burn, let the streets run red, if you ain't white you'll be dead." "I'd like to compare it to gangsta rap," explained Sugg, "where they glorify, you know, shooting n****** and pimping whores." Sugg shrugs off criticism that music like his should not be handed out to schoolyard children, arguing that "it's just music, it's not like you're handing out AK-47s."
They may preach love of their own race and there?s nothing wrong with that, but these type of messages is what gets them so heavily criticized as it?s obvious it's more about hating other races instead of being proud to be white. If they really are just about being proud to be white, then why even bother with such statements or messages in their music? Saying you don?t believe in being racist and then turning around and including such messages in your music isn?t exactly going to make you look very creditable. So I can understand why you feel the need to defend them as you said you feel the same in that you are proud to be white. But don?t be so quick to assume that our opinion that they are behaving more like racists is unfounded.
  19. Well my name is Crystia which is suppose to mean: Anointed, follower of Christ. Which is rather ironic as I?m an atheist who doesn?t believe in God or Christ for that matter. Though I?m not against the idea, I just don?t believe in it. My middle name is Bella which is suppose to mean beautiful in Italian. Nothing significant there other than I suppose all mothers think their babies are beautiful. And since I was a cute kid and I?ve been told I?m pretty, it fits. As for my last name, well that would be telling. :p
  20.
Anyway, I got the game guide in the mail today. (Finally!) And let me tell you! o_O That guide is freaking long and packed with details! I see what you meant indifference when you said finding an online guide for this game would be hard. I can?t even imagine trying to get this much detail into an online guide. It would take forever to get everything mentioned in. In fact I?m surprised by some of the things I missed! Though if I understand it correctly I?m not far enough into the game for it to be a problem.
Well if you want to avoid reading too far then I can tell you this much without spoiling anything for you. Even if you miss some things, you?ll have the chance to re-visit places before things get too hectic in the game. ;) It?s something you?ll realize is possible when the time comes.
Too bad I got it after getting the copper. It would have been handy to have to figure out the room where you had to turn off the dragon lights in order to get certain doors to open. I figured it out. But it took a while.
I hadn?t gotten the guide yet and I got so stuck as I couldn?t get one of the doors to stay open that I finally had to break down and go online and look. After that I went and picked up the guide. And boy was I glad I did. Especially when it came time to invent stuff and customize weapons. But then I already explained most of that to you over MSN the other day. ;) Now you?ve got me thinking of pulling it out and playing it again as it?s been a while. Perhaps I?ll try to get some of the battle trophies I?ve yet to get, or even be a bit brave and try the hardest level as though I unlocked it, I?ve been to chicken to actually play it.
  21. For me it?s RPG?s. Without a doubt I like that type of game format the best. I do like other types of games, like fighting, racing, strategy, but in the end I always end up going back to RPG?s.
I can't think of any reason why any large amount of people would be put off by stealth games, but such is life.
If they are anything like me, I absolutely suck at being stealthy. So though I do enjoy playing them from time to time, I end up getting frustrated by my inability to get past certain points in the game. Anyway, action and adventure would probably be the other types of games that I like the best after RPG?s that is. The one?s I play the least of is fighting. I really dislike having to spend hours mastering the buttons for pulling off different moves. Maybe I?m just lazy, but I like my techniques to just work instead of anywhere from two to ten steps to produce one finishing move. Or perhaps it?s just not my thing as even when I do manage to pull it off it?s no big deal. Now powering up weapons by customizing them or leveling up, that for what ever reason I find fun to do. Like Star Ocean Till The End of Time. I like the invention/customizing part of the game as you can really make some fun and powerful weapons for your characters. So even though it takes time and money I enjoy doing it. And all I have to do is swing the weapon and hit instead of the tedious push this and then this and don?t forget this, bit. So I guess I like RPG?s the best since there are games that along with the story line, which can be very diverse, give you a choice over the type of elements in the game and since I?m picky about the fighting techniques used, I tend to find what I like best in RPG games. 22. My current room is rather boring since I?m renting one in a basement apartment. It?s simply plain white walls with a blue type of business carpet. It does have a nice roomy full sized bed and then some old worn brown furniture. Basically just a couple of chests and a small mini one next to the bed that has a lamp on it. There?s also a small bookshelf in one of the corners. In the other corner is a small desk that houses my computer and other stuff for doing homework. Since I?m away from home the decorations are pretty simple. I have some art prints from Fruits Basket and other anime series up on the walls and that?s about it. Most of my stuff is at home. It does has a nice country rustic feel to it as I like the patchwork look of blankets and I picked up a couple of them from one of the stores a while back so I always have my bed nicely made with one of the quilts. The room is a little small so all that stuff just about fills it up. Especially since part of my desk has a small TV on it and I purchased a very small stand that holds my game systems, that way when study is all done with I can curl up on the bed or use my chair to relax and play games. Now at home I have a much bigger bedroom. I have a queen canopy bed along with matching furniture all in cherry wood that my great grandmother left to my mom, who in turn gave it to me. For it I have a combination of either the patchwork look or Victorian roses when it comes to blankets and decorations. The home is an older styled one and one wall has completely built in shelves that are full of my school books and the ones I read for fun. I also have an entire section loaded with all of my anime art books. And of course all of my manga and anime DVD?s as well as I only kept a small amount with me while I?m attending school. The walls were a bright pink when my parents first bought the house but we repainted them white. Fortunately the carpet was a simple gray color so it stayed. The ironic thing is that even though my room is pretty elaborate, it?s actually one of the smaller ones in the entire house. Though I have to admit I miss having my own bathroom all to myself. I have a roommate at the moment and although for the most part it?s not an issue, in the morning it kind of sucks when we both need the mirror when getting ready for work or school. I guess I should go and get myself some sort of portable mirror for my bedroom. Oh and I do miss having a huge bathtub for taking bubble baths. The apartment just has a shower. It gets you clean, but I miss being able to soak in a nice hot bath.

    Family Guy

I understand what Red 6 means when he says the humour gets old fast, but really it's a love it or hate it show, you either find Stewie's consistent attempts to commit matricide, only to be foiled at the last moment, hilarious or you find them silly.
Stewie's the only reason I even watch this show. It's definitely a love hate type of deal for me. I go back and forth between absolutely loving it and then back to finding it one of the dumbest shows on TV. Though for what ever reason the episodes that focus mainly on Stewie crack me up the most. It's kind of funny how he's easily taken in by kiddy things. I think my favorite episode was when he built a mind control device for his brother to get him to kill their mom and some appliance in the kitchen keep interfering with the signal. That one had me in stitches.
  24.
Well I finally finished the forest of thieves. I swear when you want a monster to drop something it takes forever! But when you already have what you need, then they drop them left and right! So now I have six regeneration symbols.
That?s how it always works, when you want it they take forever to drop it, when you don?t, they drop them left and right. Though later in the game you?ll be glad you have them, including the extra ones as well.
I still haven?t run into Albel again. I?m impatient to see how he ends up a member of my party. ^_^ Especially since it seems like helping me is the last thing he would ever want to do.
Don?t worry, you will. ;)
sooner than you think, at least the meeting part that is.

I also just found out that there are 300 battle trophies you can earn. o_O That?s a lot! Some of them are a bit weird, like I got one that said I had battled for five hours. I was thinking what the heck? Sure enough I looked at the clock and I had been playing for over five hours. That?s a first for me as I usually just play games for an hour or two and quit. I sincerely hope I?m not the only one to get so sucked into a game that they played for over five hours. I still can?t believe I played that long!
I?ve got a fair amount of the battle trophies myself. The hardest ones have been the beat a certain boss within one minute. They were pretty easy to get at first, but once they became harder, well some of them I have yet to get. As for playing for so long. I?ve done that myself. It?s easy to lose track of time when you?re having a good time playing the game.
  25.
After the slaughter the vice health minister came out and recommended that a better and more efficient solution to reduce rabies cases would be to simply vaccinate them instead of killing thousands of dogs. Maybe it's just my offbeat sense of humor but you do all realize how absurdly amusing your 'discussion' has turned out to be, don't you? Dog souls, society's imminent melodramatic destruction, how cost effective beating dogs to death is, choosing 'slaughter of thousands of dogs' as something to chastise China for over it's human rights abuses. Delightful.
And we all know how good China is at actually doing something to improve rights, whether it?s for a dog or a person. Saying there is a better way and actually doing it is another thing. This isn?t the first time they?ve slaughtered dogs, which is probably part of what has people so angry about it. Besides, as you already know the news often focuses on the point that will get the most attention and virtually glosses over the part where the health minister recommended a better solution. It still doesn?t change the fact that many people found it appalling that they even made such a choice to begin with. Or should I say made the choice yet again. As for amusing you?well we all come here to have fun so if our discussion has entertained you, all the better. ;) If anyone?s curious I pulled up a few more articles on the subject, just take a look. Outrage Offer of assistance Let?s do it again If they follow through like it says in the last article, then I?d say the statement by the minister is just that, a statement, and a rather empty one at that. Only time will tell.
