1. Welcome to OtakuBoards UchihaNinjaGirl I will be closing this thread for several reasons. First of all threads like this are rarely allowed since like your opening post they often end up being nothing more than simple statements without any reasons or explanations of why you think the character would never say certain things. The other reason is expected post quality. Not only does post quality involve the concept of having clear, easy to read posts, along with correct use of spelling, grammar and punctuation, but it involves just how much a poster?s reply contributes, and expands to any given discussion. Something your opening post does not do. This is something that is greatly valued here at OtakuBoards, and we encourage members to exceed with their writing skills. Please take a moment to review the Rules and FAQ that is locate on the left sidebar and also read through the IMPORTANT: How to Post in Anime Lounge sticky located at the top of the Anime Lounge. 2.
Recently an online friend of mine was in a car accident.
I assume you are referring to Darren? After seeing the damage done to the car I am convinced that if the other driver had been going slower Darren would not have been hurt, or at least not as bad as he was. Well even if you aren?t referring to the accident he was in, I completely agree. Especially in area?s where there are public schools. I?ve seen a few studies done on the effectiveness of using speed cameras in a city and although all of them seemed to show no change in the amount of accidents. They did show that the lower speeds ended up in less fatalities and serious injuries. So for that reason alone I think it would be worth having them installed. I agree with Retribution about the highways and interstates though. Other than problem areas, like the one last year in Utah where the truck driver went to fast around a corner while carrying dynamite. Yeah that was interesting, blowing up the road. Anyway, other than places where accidents are an issue I think it won?t really help on the highways or freeways. The only way you are going to effective control highway and freeway speeding is using something to keep the car from going over a certain speed. Which I?m sure most people would object to.
3. I know that #xxxxxx works for what you're trying to do. It seems to only work if you use that value for Site Border Color, Inner Background Color, and Menu Color though.
4. I?ll second that. I?m a terrible speller and my grammar is atrocious. I type up everything in word and then once I?m done I copy and paste it into my post. And when I?m at a different computer I use hotmail to check my spelling. If it were possible I would love to see this feature. I know I would be using it every time I post.
5. Ezekiel: I must say your piece is really well done. I love the bright red balloons and how the blue of the sky goes from light with clouds all the way up to dark with stars. It?s just cute and whimsical. The only thing I don?t like is the little stars since on my screen they don?t look like stars unless you look closely. Sara: What I love best about your piece is the font and how the colors vary though the words themselves. The overall piece reminds me of general purpose stationary cards you get that are blank inside. And in that respect I think it?s perfectly done as I could easily imagine finding this at a store. The only thing I would do different is perhaps to darken it a bit as the top layer is a little to light. For this round I vote for Ezekiel.
6. jigglyness: I think you did a great job with your piece, the color, border and overall messy/grungy look is nicely done. I too like how the red color makes the frame with the words damaged people show up. My biggest problem with your piece is that it?s far too busy. When I look at it I don?t know where to focus. r2vq: I think your piece is amazing. It looks more like a professional advertisement than a simple piece. The animation is nicely done and the words and picture are perfectly placed. The font is nice though I agree that the o in without is just a little off. It's just a little too big compared to the other letters in the word. I vote for r2vq.
7. sakurasuka: Well first of all I think you did a great job with the grayscale effect. I also like how it appears like there are lyrics from a song running along the side of the piece. The ^ also adds a nice effect to the overall piece. What I do not like is the words at the top. They are very distracting and in my opinion way too big. Kune: For your piece I like the overall grungy feeling. The blue color really makes the piece stand out. I also like how the background is blurred as it makes the blue flower the focus of the piece. What I do not care for is the font for the saying. It?s hard to read and I find it distracting. Both of these are very nice. For this round I vote for Kune.
8. Keyblade Wielder: What I like best about your piece is the choice of font for the word strength. The blue looks nice and it makes a nice contrast with the black. What I don?t like is the word revenge, it doesn?t stand out and I have to look closer to see what it says. White: What I like best about your piece is the subtle animation with the leaf. I also like the striped background and the font you used for the word Broadway. Overall it?s a great piece. The only flaw I see is the spelling error. For this round I vote for White
9. I have never really encountered much in the way of racism. At least not directed at me. I have seen others who were treated the way you were, but not very often. In all honesty where I live you are more likely to run into prejudice based on whether or not you are religious. In which case you get looked down on because you are not religious. But that?s another topic. As for your questions:
Do you think racism will ever stop? Do YOU have a racial prejudice, if so explain. Have you ever been attacked because of your race?
In all honesty I do not think that racism will ever be completely eliminated. The idea of no racism would indicate that people would have gained the ability to see beyond concepts of skin color, background or any other type of difference. I would hope that as time goes by it becomes less of a problem but to get rid of it completely? I just don?t see that ever happening. As far as I know I do not have any prejudice based on a person?s race. I cannot with all confidence say I have none when there are races I have yet to actually meet. So far all of my experiences have been a case of disliking personality traits like arrogance, disrespect or backstabbing. Since all of these are behaviors and not because of their race I would say that I do not have a racial prejudice. I have never been attacked just because I was a white girl so to speak. I have been attacked, but like I mentioned before, it was a behavior problem and not some vendetta on their part against white people.
10. Hmmm... No new riddle? Very well. I'll start with another riddle. If it's been done before... Meh..I did at least look. Anyway... I come twice a week but only once a year. What am I?

12.
Interesting, most interesting. Maybe I'll give it a try, though I think it proves my point as well. Any food that requires that much effort to make it taste nice shouldn't be a food!
I meant to respond to this earlier honest! ;) Anyway, it's actually not that much work since it takes less than 15 minutes to wash; cut and place in a container with water to go in the fridge. Since I usually don't eat more than a few stalks at a time that lasts for a week at least. I usually prepare my carrots in advance at the same time, though I don't leave them in water. Though I admit if presented with a choice I'll get baby carrots since all you have to do is rinse them instead of peeling them too. Anyway, another food I really enjoy but forgot to mention is green olives and mushrooms. I like to slice them and add them to sandwiches, salads and store bought frozen pizza's. Though with the pizza I'll add another layer of shredded mozzarella cheese as well. Anyway, the green olives add a nice tasty zing to the dishes.
13. Name: Darren Henderson Age: 25 Gender: Male Place of Origin: Salt Lake City, Utah USA (or former if it no longer existed when my character was born) Known History: Although given the best education possible, Darren was never really interested in reading or learning anything. As a result he barely managed to graduate from High School, once done with what he saw as the tedious chore of education he started working as a construction worker. For a couple of years Darren was content to just be a simple construction worker, but when he noticed that he was always passed over when any promotions were due he decided to go to college so he could learn how to run his own construction company. He has yet to earn a degree in business management, but his efforts to learn finally got him the promotion he desired. Being a little on the shy side where girls are concerned Darren usually spends his free time struggling with the homework from his college classes since he rarely dates. Darren does not mind too much as the rest of his spare time is usually spent with his younger sister Bethany. Personality: Darren is on the simple side in that he is very straightforward and always says what he thinks. He knows he?s not very bright and for the most part does not care that others are smarter than he is. For the most part he?s very easy going and nice, but if provoked he can and does lose his temper. He?s already been arrested twice for beating guys severely enough to put them in the hospital. Though he considers it justice since they were harassing his little sister Bethany when he had already told them to leave her alone. Appearance: Darren is six feet tall, medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes. He?s easily overlooked as he?s so plain, but when he smiles he?s almost charming. The only exception to this is when he climbs walls if you look closely you can see tiny little appendages (think Spiderman here) on his hands and other parts of his body. But once he?s done climbing they retract leaving him looking completely normal again. Animal Genes: Common house spider. Hybrid Abilities: Darren?s most obvious ability is that like a spider he can climb walls. He is also quite strong and occasionally can produce webbing like a spider. (again think Spiderman here) Though the ability to produce webbing is very unreliable and rarely happens. Most of the time it has been cases of extreme stress where being able to produce the webbing saved his or someone else?s life.
14. Right now I have good neighbors and even a good roommate. But last year the house next to the landlady (I live in a basement apartment) had this guy living there that was in all honesty an absolute pig. When he wasn?t drunk and throwing parties at three am, he would be outside chucking trash and empty beer bottles into the street. One of the neighbors across the street has a tiny little miniature poodle and naturally it would bark like mad at him when he was throwing trash into the street. So then he would take the bottles in the street and chuck them at the dog. Fortunately it was behind a fence so he never did actually manage to hit the dog. Over all I lost count of the times the police had to be called since any attempt to talk to him resulted in vulgar language and him threatening to harm you. And when the police did show up he was very good at immediately running into his home and hiding for days and refusing to answer the door. But then once things calmed down for a few days he?d go right back to being a jackass. Last summer was the worse since suddenly he had people over every single night all the time. They would stay anywhere from five to thirty minutes and then leave. And if they blocked someone trying to get out of their driveway, they were very ugly and nasty to the person asking them to move. At this point I began to suspect he was up to something illegal and apparently so did the police. After about a month of people showing up all the time they came and broke into the home and arrested him for selling illegal drugs. The house has since been sold and fortunately the new people are nice and friendly.
15. For the most part I?m definitely addicted to anime. I usually watch some every single day. Even if it?s just pulling out shows I?ve already seen and re-watching them. I would rather not take the challenge, but I have on occasion put away all my anime during finals. It?s just too easy to keep watching when I really need to be studying. So every couple of months I end up living a couple of weeks with out any anime.
16. If you don?t mind something being a little older and focusing more on ninja abilities vs being able to throw fireballs, you might enjoy the OAV of Gatchaman. The plot line is this: A.D. 2066 - Shortly after a small country separates itself from the United Nations, members of the International Science Organization mysteriously disappear without a trace. Renowned scientist Kouzaburou Nanbu realizes that the secret organization known as the "Gallactor" is making its move to conquer the world. To counter this terrorist group, he prepares his ultimate weapon: five brave heroes that comprise the Science Ninja Team - Gatchaman. The disk comes with all three of the 45 minute long episodes so It?s the same as getting a single movie disk. Also for being a bit of a remake of an older anime it?s got a nice clean look and fairly decent action scenes.
17.
The person you are describing is not badass. He's misunderstood. So why dont you go and make a "most misunderstood cahracter" thread?
Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to deciding who they think is a ?Badass? character. If more posts go off topic like this I will close this thread. On topic: One of my favorite badass characters is Muraki from Yami no Matsuei. He is very determined and downright ruthless in the pursuit of his goals. He does not care who he
kills or who?s lives he destroys
so long as he gets what he wants. The way he enjoys
tormenting others
is a bit chilling to watch. My only regret is that he was not in the series as much as I would have liked.
18. Welcome to OtakuBoards Inuyashachick13 I will be closing this thread for several reasons. 19. My plans for the summer are to do a lot of hiking with my friends. Playing games watching anime; going to the movies and basically taking it easy. Usually I take a lot of classes and work extra hours at my job. But this time I decided I wanted my summer to actually be a little more restful or at least be filled with more of the activities I enjoy doing. So I set my schedule up so that I only have classes twice a week and since my job is really working as a volunteer at the Women?s Crisis Center it was pretty easy to get a schedule of only coming in three times a week. In the past few years it?s been rare to get a four-day weekend so I?m really looking forward to having an entire summer of them. :)
20. I don?t believe in either demons or angels. But for the sake of this thread I will pretend that I do. To be contrary my first thought would be to take the path of being a demon. However if you believe in the typical stereotype surrounding such beings I think being a demon would get very boring very quickly. So in the end I will choose being an angel. Though if I can?t have the ability to fight for justice or do battle as Retribution suggests then I?ll have to find a demon and ask it to kill me and put me out of my misery. Just sitting around all day playing a harp or doing nothing would drive me nuts after a while.
21.
I don?t know if I would actually go to a meeting where other OtakuBoards members were. But Adam mentioned on his site that it would be a neat idea to attend an anime convention where the members from myOtaku and OtakuBoards all wore matching T-Shirts with something like OtakuBoards on it. Now I could see attending something like that. Not only would you get to meet fellow members but enjoying the convention together would be lots of fun. Not to mention the stir we would create by wearing the t-shirts. :p
For the most part I?m not really interesting in meeting fellow OB members. Nothing personal against anyone but I?m not a fan of meeting online friends at all. But at an anime convention, well that would be another story. I know Panda attended one recently and I was wishing I could have gone and not only met her but a couple other members who attended. The T-shirt would have been pretty corny and funny. And since I?m not really into Coplay an OB T-shirt would be perfect. :p
22. Welcome to OtakuBoards yari91 I will be closing this thread for several reasons. First Otakuboards places an emphasis on post quality. This is especially important when creating a thread as it sets an example of what is expected. That means proper grammar, spelling, and having content in your posts. Something your post does not do. For example you could have answered your own question by explaining which anime you want to be in and which character you wanted to be and why you made your choice. Once you re-read the rules this will make more sense. Also before creating a thread it?s a good idea to do a forum search or look through the first few pages of threads to see if there is already a thread similar to what you wish to discuss. In this case you will see that there already is a thread: If you could be any anime character, who would you be? Instead of having lots of threads with similar topics it?s less confusing to stick with just one. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~indifference Thread Closed
23. Well for starters you really need to clarify just what type of help you are looking for. For example what type of series are you looking to create? An action based series, comedy or magical? There is also the question of whether or not you want help developing the storyline or if you want artists to assist you with drawing the characters. Are you starting from scratch or have you already created the storyline and started on the characters and are mostly looking for others to review your work and give you pointers or tips on what you could improve. It helps if members know what you are looking for. You already have some simple basics listed in your signature; I suggest you expand on that a little. It would help others to see if it was something that interested them.
24. I end up having an anime marathon almost every time I get a new box set. The moment I have a free evening I end up watching the whole thing from start to finish, or pretty close. I also end up watching lots of anime every time I am sick. Like this weekend I spent most of Saturday and today watching anime since I've been sick all weekend. It's one of the best ways to pass the time while you recover since I usually lack the attention span to play a game or to do other things while I am recuperating. So it's perfect. It's just enough to distract me from how rotten I feel while I am getting better. Occasionally I do have a marathon with friends, but those are few and far between since all of us have very different schedules, so it?s rare for us to have a marathon.
25. I don?t have an opinion either way. I don?t buy designer clothing because as Panda said being a college student usually means you don?t have the money for clothes that cost a lot more. I don?t buy at second hand shops for the simple reason that there aren?t any close to where I live. I don?t have a car so my ability to get around is limited. Most of my clothing comes from places like Wal-Mart and other thrift stores. They aren?t the trendiest but they certainly are easy on the budget.
