With my first manga, I started out with one of my favorite anime at the time. I picked up Yu Yu Hakusho volume # 2. Yeah I started began the manga out of number, ( oh well) I was a newbie, but YYH is still one of my favorites today.

GTO is very funny, and I second what Lindus said. Azumaga Daioh i hilarious.

FMA is a great anime. When I first began watching it, I underestimated it when I first began watching though. It seemed like your normal run of the mill anime, but somewhere around the 20th or so episode it just was something else. Yes people don't like the dubbing that much, but it's not [I]that[/I] bad. Yes, Al's voice may seem a tad strange at first, but you get used to it.Does FMA live up to all the hype it gets? Mmm not in my opinion. I'm not saying FMA is a bad anime. It's a great anime! FMA is one of my personal shonen favorites . Good storyline, nice art, beautiful music, but I don't think it people need to be calling it the best anime of all time.

Yes, it's a great movie. Miyazaki did a great job on this one. The animation is very nice, it has a great storyline, and the music insn't too shabby either. ^_^

The age old 4kids debate, at one point in time it will be seen on every anime forum. In a sense this discussion is almost inevitable. I'm not going to say what 4kids is doing is necessarily the best thing and condone them , but you can't condemn them and tell them they are pure evil either. Many people are angry and not happy with the way 4Kids treats anime, but you can not tell them not to do it. Like Dagger said some people do not have the option of cable and the go to Foxbox or KidsWb for their anime "fix". Going ballistic and saying you want to burn down 4kids productions will not accomplish anything. Instead of acting like " OmG 4kids SUX So BaD" do something about it. Write a petition .Get people who feel the same way about it to sign it. Be mature about it. Acting like newbie fanboys/fangirls will not stop 4kids from picking up anime , slapping on a bad dub, and airing it on Saturday morning tv.

Yes agreed Hatsumi should grow up. When I first began reading the manga , Hatsumi's character greatly annoyed me. I jusy always wondered why she couldn't stand up for herself, but as the manga progressed she did execute some character developement, but she still has a way to go in my opnion.

Anime. Why do I watch it? Unique storylines, beautiful art, and out of this world humor. Have you ever seen a countries history depicted well by an animated show? I've only seen it done well by anime. There are all types of anime, something for everybody. So it's nearly impossible to say you could not find a genre that intersted you. Animators in Japan take anime quite seriously. Animators in America are just doing the Saturday morning line up stuff (not to say that all American cartoons are bad) When was the last time you saw a psychological thriller like [I]Paranoi Agent[/I] made in America?

I just recently got into yaoi (via Gravitation, Tokyo Babylon, Legal Drug ect.) At first I was a tad put off by the whole thing, but then I read more and more yaoi (shounen-ai) titles. Then I slowly began to see the better side of yaoi. i'm not saying I love yaoi 110 %, but I accept it. I will take yaoi anyday over yuri or hentai. Yaoi unlike yuri or hentai actually has emotions and feelings to it. Hentai and yuri are all about the physical side of the relationship.

Yes I have read the manga. (I own it) The thing that I like better about the manga is that it has extra stories that are not included in the anime. ( Like the way Hiei and Kurama met), and it tells about Yusuke's escapades while he was still a ghost.

Hot Gimmick is a manga that can "jerk" you around in a sense. Hatsumi's feelings for Ryoki, Azusa and Shinogu are all different, but the same in a way. She loves her brother, but is she ready to really[I] love[/I] her brother. Incest is and always will be a hard topic, but maybe that is how the manga will end. She could end up with Ryoki. Even though he can be harsh at times it's obvious that he does care for Hatsumi, and then there is Azusa . Now he can't hate Hatsumi, her slate is clean. The possibilities of who Hatsumi will end up with are endless.( even though I do have a bias as to who she should end up with ^_^ heh)

I would suggest Full Metal Panic. It may be a tad lacking in the romamce department, but it's got plenty of action and comedy.

Finding out who Hatsumi chooses will be quite intersting, and as for the whole relationship situation with Shinogu, time will tell.

I would reccomend GTO or Getbackers.

It seems like most parents and anime never mix, but there are some parents that are just fine with it. Alot of the problem might be with the content, even thought it is reasonable. Most parents have a broad misconception of anime. The believe all anime is too violent or too sexual . Like many people have said before, some parents just find it to be childish (which I don't agree with)

Paranoia Agent is a truly unique series. Tthe art is nice and the storyline is something else. I haven't seen anything like it, maybe that's why it's so intersting.
