Many underage girls, from what I hear. They did a fake music video for him on Mad TV about it & I nearly died laughing!

"Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckburg..." I still watch that show. I know the song by heart. Tee-hee. ::Swipes Heaven's Cloud's cd & runs:: "River of Deceit" is one of my favorite songs to play on guitar. It just sounds so sweet.

Why is it such a big deal if someone drinks or smokes on occasion?

I'm more into mythology, & how it was colored by the history of the culture it existed in, mainly Celtic, Greek, & Hindu. I go through phases. I also focus on interesting phenomena & the history behind it, such as the Bermuda Triangle, etc. However, my favorite in purely historical study is the history of slavery in the United States. My great-grandmother gave me a big set of Time Life books on the Civil War & the parts about slavery held a horrific sort of fascination for me. I read it when I was really young, & have tried to find out everything I can about the African-American culture & civil rights ever since. I credit this intense study for my "color-blindness." It really opened my eyes to racism & it's stupidity. The actions of over a hundred years ago still oppress the modern culture. Oppressed cultures still have to essentially "catch-up" even though we are supposed to be equal -- and this applies to more that just race. If you think about it, most of the horrible things in history as well as today are the result of hate & greed. It's sad.

Think about this, though... out of the billions of people in the world, the odds of finding that "one perfect person" are pretty slim. They could be on the other side of the world & you'd never meet. I guess it's good that I like all kinds of guys, & don't really have an ideal.

There's just no getting by it.
Also, I was recently asked who I respected. I do not respect very many people, I hate respect, so those that I do respect, are very special to me. I named three people. Two, were from Otaku.
One wouldn't be meeeeee, would it? I agree with some of this, though. I'm pretty much a hermit lately, so, besides my two RL friends, I wouldn't have anyone to talk to without the boards. As for the question... The best thing in my life is the baby I'm going to have soon (less than 7 months & counting), it's pretty much the only thing I focus on these days...

I guess I'd just refuse to answer.
I don't know if this gives anything away, but the options don't match. Three roads, only two options as answers.

Removal of Expectations is the key to contentment
Lady Macaiodh replied to Harry's topic in General Discussion
I thought of this after I read Ravenstorture's post. Occasionally, I get a sick satisfaction when I know something's going to get really screwed up, and it does -- even though I've done everything in my power to stop it from happening that way. That's why I don't get as disappointed as others would. I feel somewhat vindicated -- I know I did the right thing, & I recognize that I can't be in control of the world. Then there are times when I'm so frustrated that I want to scream my head off, even with my vindication. It's like, "What did I put all that effort into it for? What a waste of time." So here's the question: Should we always try to do the right thing, even though it's a waste of time? If you know it's not going to make a difference, that is. -
What are you waiting for? Go! Go! If they're your true friends, they won't just drop you, for godssakes. My best friend Jessica was sent to a boarding school because of bad behavior for a year and a half. It was the type of school where she couldn't visit, write letters, or have any correspondence whatsoever with the outside world. So I didn't speak to her or hear from her once that whole time. But I never forgot or stopped loving her. We're closer now than ever (I was 18 when she got sent away and now I'm 23). Besides, you have a huge opportunity here. Have you checked the place out? Is there a set amount of time you have to stay once you get there, or can you leave if you absolutely hate it? I mean, you've got to at least try it. Once you get older, there will be huge gaps of time where you don't see a certain friend or two, I guarantee. And what if you grow apart from your friends even if you don't go? Then you'd really hate yourself. If you don't go... I'm gonna smack you on the head. I'll do it, too, just ask anybody around here. ;)

Yeah, he does. I've been watching the last few days, which prompted the questions. It's like he's dead but Goku isn't. Weird. Seems like it'd be hard to fuse.

Let me also clarify something. Just because I don't have expectations for others doesn't mean I don't have them for myself (goals & standards, you might say). I can't control others but I do control myself. ~Deb -
All the people who don't go to Church....

Anime_gurl, what kind of interview did your mom have & how did it go? What did she, or other people, think of our answers? I'm very curious about that last part.
Originally posted by Braidless Baka And to top it all off, as I was leaving the reverend shook my hand and said "it was nice to have seen you again" - now I have never seen this man before or since... Removal of Expectations is the key to contentment

Medra... ::sigh:: Nevermind, it's not worth it. I'm inclined to agree with some of this. I know way too many people who sit around depressed about every little thing. "**** happens." That statement was invented for a reason. I'm not saying that, for example, if someone you love dies you should just brush it off & do a dance. What I mean is that wallowing in self-pity is one of the most counterproductive things a person can do. What does it acomplish? As for the expectations thing, I pretty much have none. It's not like I choose to have none, it's just the way I am. Nothing surprises me. In this world, nothing should surprise anyone. I expect the sun to rise & set, gravity, death & taxes... that sort of stuff. But with human nature? Nada. It's not a pessimistic thing. I'm not a bitter person. It's like on Seinfeld: "Well, that's a shame." It does suck, but it's also kind of funny, too. I do have a good bit of confusion about things. But the fact that I experience the level of contentment that I do proves that I don't sweat the small stuff. It's pointless. -
I don't actually walk around, but I do sit up, open my eyes, & have conversations with people that aren't there.
Originally posted by Mnemolth What the heck is a straight-edger? And just saying 'you' doesn't count! ;)
What, that expression not used anymore? You know, no drinking, smoking, pre-marital sex... I mean, it's a personal choice, but I hate the ones who go around preaching at me. I went out with one of those types once & it was a really bad idea. He was always bossing me around. PS: Happy anniversary, Tori & Ryan!
Originally posted by gokents Yemma took action by bringing vegeta back to life and sending him to earth, and gokou also received life.
Wait a second. Then how come Vegeta has a halo back on earth & not Goku? Also, I knew Veggie was dead, I wanted to know if he went to hell or what. Usually people go to King Kai's to train if they've been good. I was kind of curious as to whether or not Vegeta's final act made up for anything.

I'm actually glad they'll be giving more attention to Rogue. She was utterly useless in the first movie. The only thing she did was heal herself after Wolverine stabbed her. That was it. I'd like to see some heavy absorption next time.
Originally posted by Jenni What's the point of any thread?
What I was asking there, which you would realize if you had any brains whatsoever, was a rhetorical question designed to get the attention of the mods so they will do something about this. And I don't mean just this thread. I, quite frankly, am sick and tired of the threads being created as of late for the sole purpose of enflaming and insulting the members, and causing pointless arguments that can't be resolved. I don't know why people feel the need to do this, other than intense boredom or lack of a life, but go somewhere else to do it. And I guess after you read this, you and your little friend will rejoice that you've served your intended purpose quite well. Thought-provoking debate is one thing; blatant stupidity is another.

It's easier to tell what my turn-offs are, because I don't have a type at all. 1) Nasty teeth 2) A lot of flab 3) Atheist 4) High school dropout 5) Unmotivated 6) Scrawny rat-looking "mustaches" 7) Doesn't read 8) Disrespectful to women/minorities 9) Bad temper 10)Egomaniac 11)Judgmental straight-edger (regular straight-edgers are fine) As long as they don't have those things, I'll give almost anybody a chance. I find a wide range of guys attractive. I don't care about hair color, eye color, height, race, blah blah. Looking back on the guys I've dated or liked, I found them all pretty much equally attractive, & they come in all varieties. I find guys either hot or not. It's the personality that makes the difference. I think most guys are physically hot in their own way. I have that eye for beauty. ;)

Every organization & religion has abused their power or committed atrocious acts at some point. That's just human nature. The only reason everyone is focusing on Muslims now is because of the current fear of terrorism. As soon as the next crisis happens, the attention will shift to the next group of people who will be shunned as a whole for the stupidity of a few. What is the point of this thread, anyway?

Now that we're talking about the last part of DBZ, I have a question or two. How in the heck did Vegeta & Goku end up fusing? They're both dead, so someone tell me the story, please. & how do they both get wished back if they've already died twice? & where on earth was Vegeta all this time? You'd think he'd've been hanging around with Gohan, Goku & the Kais or something, but he was just off somewhere. Don't blame me for missing these past few weeks, I've been sleeping a lot due to pregnancy exhaustion. ;)

I like that goofy, humorous sorta rap, like that Ludacris song "My business" (I get such a big bang out of that one). But I think I got over gangsta rap a long time ago. I used to listen to Warren G and Da Brat and old Dre & Snoop Dogg duets. Remember that song "Regulate"? I still know the words. Yeesh, kill me. The cheese flows on and on.
