1. My dream band already exists, & they are the immortal Sublime. But I can't make a dream band, either, because my favorites of all the instruments don't even match each others' styles. I'll tell you my favorites, though (due to uniqueness). To make it easier for myself, I made my people all alive. Vocals: Selene Vigil, Rob Zombie, Fiona Apple Guitar: Eddie Van Halen, Allison Robertson Bass: Elizabeth Davis (hands down) Drums: Vinnie Paul, Rick Allen I suppose you could come up with a band somewhere in there.
2.
Originally posted by wrist cutter Why don't women wear watches? Here's my beloved joke of lameness: Why did the chicken cross the playground?
To get to the other slide.
You may all kill me now, too, & bury me with wrist cutter.
3. Kirsten Dunst! I should have thought of her. She can pass for a redhead. Red_Kirsten & here's one for Tori: Blonde_Kirsten
4. All I know about them is Kurt Cobain like them a lot, but I've heard a few of their songs. They're one of those bands I've always respected & meant to investigate but never did, like the Grateful Dead (yes, I know mostly nothing of the Grateful Dead).

Pantera?

::smacks him on the head:: I like country, especially Charlie Daniels. Pantera is so kick ***. I once has this 36 hour bus ride on Greyhound, & I listened to Pantera the whole time. I was sitting next to a Rabbi who kept giving me weird looks because of the sounds coming from my headphones. & I wasn't so dead tired by the time I got off the bus (from the adrenaline). When I listen to "Becoming" (from CD below) I feel like I'm God. Their best album is "Official Live: 101 Proof" in my opinion. By the way, Vinnie Paul (real name Vincent Paul Abbott) is the greatest drummer ever! I'll have to remember that for Hybrid's thread.
6. Asuka took the words right out of my mouth. I've had this exact same thing happen to me so many times. The more a guy I like seems to be not interested, the more infatuated I become. When they eventually ask me out, I'm all in the thrill of victory for about a day, then totally bored & ready to move on. It sounds horrible, but that's the way it is. And don't ask me why people do it, either, because I have no conceivable idea. Or maybe she mistook her friendship feelings for romantic. You're going to need to talk to her about that.
7. People whose Cds I would steal... Hybrid Mitch Treton_noir Queen Asuka
8. Let's just hope they don't have weapons we're unaware of.
9.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Exactly why he should join them.
Was that a joke, or what? Hostility, maybe?
10. That's the problem with deals. People buy more of the product, so the company runs out of it. The deal was 2 for $1 and he only bought 1, so he's pretty much **** outta luck. Though, if it was me at the register (God forbid), I would have just given him the stupid thing.
11. I do most of my acting in real life, not on stage. lol
12. I think jealousy, when it arises, is not something that can really be helped, because it's a feeling, not a decision. Rather, being not jealous is a decision. It's a natural emotion to have & not wrong, but it's how you decide to handle it that makes the difference. I'm not usually the jealous type with whoever I'm dating. But I've had incidents where the guy got mad or offended because I wasn't jealous. They took it as a sign that I didn't care, & even flirted with other girls to try to get a rise out of me. So I had to sort of pretend to give them peace of mind! I also think that if your partner has been unfaithful, you have the right to be more jealous than usual (but that's more of a trust issue).
13. Actually, if you think about it, it's a pretty good point. Think about how many bands went straight downhill after they got off drugs & went into therapy & stuff. Some of the greatest albums ever made were written on drugs. Like Aerosmith.. they're the first one that pops in my mind. They had so many kick *** songs. Then they get sober & come out with "Don't want to miss a thing" & "pink" which are wussy & crappy. Coincidence? Not that I'm telling anyone to do drugs or anything... ::hides::
14. Damn, I had such a hard time narrowing this down. Sublime: Romeo What Happened? Boss DJ Creedence Clearwater Revival: Grapevine Long as I Can See the Light Nirvana: Milk It Polly (Unplugged) 7 Year B*tch: Knot (live) Pantera: Becoming (live) Cemetery Gates (live) Metallica: ?And Justice For All Damage, Inc. The Misfits (old): She Fiona Apple: Never Is a Promise Okay, so that's 14 songs, but I couldn't help it. I had to leave bands out as it is. And I forced myself to only put 3 Sublime songs, because you have to have classic rock & metal & piano & chick rock & punk, too... gah! EDIT: I forgot Charlie Daniels Band & Lynryd Skynyrd. Damn.
15. You have to try to understand your dad right now. It's not quite like Harry said, but that's probably the way your dad feels. He feels hurt. You just need to give him time to cope with it, & be sure to let him know over & over that you love him, don't love your mom more, you'd just be happier living in the US & will see him soon. Though I don't think the cat thing should have been mentioned as a factor. Parents do that stuff. Make sure your motives are pure & well thought-out in this decision. You're going to have to get used to that kind of thing, as a teenager. Just wait til they start restricting your dating, clothes, car use, etc. You can't just switch to another parent because you don't like what the other one did. I'm not saying you did that, but make sure a normal fight wasn't the cause of your leaving.
16. I don't consider myself a liberal. That's why I had a hard time answering the question of the thread. I'm neither. I just believe what I believe. Why label myself? Any label I give myself will not be accurate anyway. I try not to be very political. I'm just tired of it, & I don't think anything's going to change anytime soon.
17. The reason there aren't nearly as many pro-war rallies as anti-war is because they don't need to do that. What's there to protest? The government is doing exactly what they want. Anti-war ralliers (or whatever they're called) are the only ones who need to protest. So I really don't think it's a good example. And about killing tons of Iraqis... Saddam does a good job of killing & torturing them on his own. Either we can sit back & let it go on forever, or we can try to make a difference. War is never an easy or clean solution.
18. I honestly don't know what the problem is. Forget about this guy. If she's cheating on him, then it's just his own actions coming back to him, since he did the same thing to you. Look, you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet a guy who will respect you & never cheat on you in the first place. If you get back with him, you'll always wonder if he's going to cheat on you again, especially since you go to different schools, making it easier for him to do. Do you really think you can trust him? He already screwed you once... he's a dog, he doesn't deserve you, girl! You're about to graduate, & high school relationships rarely last. You will meet so many smart, mature, respectable guys (& yeah, jerks, too) & the point is you absolutely do not need him. He doesn't even seem to be capable of a long-term relationship, anyway. As for telling him about his girl, that's up to you. I guess there would be some fun in springing the news, if only to ask him how he likes being cheated on. I seriously doubt you'd be telling him for his own good, as a friend or whatever. You have your own agenda in it, whether you admit it to yourself or not. And he's going to realize that eventually. But don't expect anything out of it, & don't even think about taking him back! Like I said, you deserve someone you can really trust who will cherish you like the priceless treasure you are!
19. I was never too crazy about them. "Tomorrow" was okay because of the variations in the music. But all the others were kinda like... they sounded okay, but you got sick of them really easily. They're just too alike. Silverchair simply doesn't have much substance.
20. Me: Claire Danes (I really admire her & everyone compares me to her anyway. And she can pass for a redhead.) Okay, I modified this part slightly... nothing's ever just happy or sad in my life. Happy (Comical) Music: Sublime "What Happened?" The story of my life. Sad (Mad) Music: 7 Year B*tch "Knot" When life sucks & you want to put your cigarettes out on people's arms. Love Music: Grace Slick "Knock Me Out" One of the sexiest songs ever. It's kinda also about being saved from yourself. Ending: I die tragically in a really screwed up & unfair scenario that changes everybody's perspective on life. Length:Average I'll probably change my mind about the songs.
21. Yeah, physically I've always been behind. But when I do catch up, I make up for lost time. ;) People still can't believe I'm 23, though. I think it's pretty sweet, since when I'm old I won't look as bad as I would have. Mentally, I feel like I've mostly been ahead. & the fact that I look young takes people by surprise when I start talking. I love doing that to people. It only sucks while you're in school. I don't think people would care as much about being a late bloomer if it wasn't for the whole teenage societal standard of attractiveness. Everyone will get there eventually, & it won't make a bit of difference after that.
22.
Originally posted by {SITH} Change I would say that the threat should be determined by your personal philosophy. If you belive is conservatism, you are afraid of change, you wish to hold back society from the brink of rapid progress and slow things down. If you are a liberal, you look ahead and take the plunge, you go for the gold.
Now that is just straight-up ridiculous. Another word for Conserve is Preserve, which means to keep safe from harm. You make it sound like conservatives still want to keep blacks & women from voting or something. If what you're saying is true, then a liberal must have been the one to initiate any positive change whatsoever in America. You actually think that conservatives want to and try to prevent progress? That has got to be one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on these boards! & you have to admit, liberals sometimes have really dumb ideas! It's a necessary balance, & without it the liberals would be running wild & possibly jeopardizing things for us right now. For example: The liberals are very apprehensive & hesitant about taking any sort of stand in the world-wide arena concerning national defense. If it wasn't for the conservatives of the past, we'd be sitting ducks. Yeah, liberals want us to downsize the military & have peace & all, which is ideally a pretty picture, but not at all realistic or forseeable. Luckily Reagan bulked all that stuff up, or we wouldn't be in as nearly as good of a position for all that's going on right now. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a conservative. But for an outrageous statement like that, I had to say something. I still can't even believe I read that. I'll have to keep going back to this page to make sure I wasn't going crazy.
23. I took a test once that said I was a penguin. I don't know why. I don't really know. It would have to be some kind of loner animal that wonders from place to place, never becoming close to the others of its kind. Intelligent but unscrupulous -- like when it comes down to it, it'd do anything to survive. I can't think of an animal that fits that, but I know there must be one.
24. Actually, I do get inspired. When I'm sick, I feel bad, & the best stuff I write is depressing. When I really feel bad, I tend to wallow in it. It's weird, I was going through my poetry & I noticd there are big time gaps from when I was happily in a relationship (I have about 10 years' worth of poems). Or happy, period. It's like I have no idea what to write about. But when I feel depressed, confused, etc., it's like a floodgate opening.
25. I don't really sleep like you mean. Rather, I take 2 or 3 hour naps (which is why I'm frequently here at odd hours -- now, for instance). But when I'm getting ready to lie down, & it's dark, I start having all these thoughts. Sometimes they run rampant, wake me up, & I end up sitting staring angrily at the wall for an hour. Or I'll worry. Or get sad. Then I say my prayers, & there's always sooo much to pray for. When I'm about to say "Amen" I'll always think of something else that seems imperative to pray for. I wish there was a universal prayer like "God please read my mind. I pray for all that stuff." So going to sleep is a pain. Getting up is a pain, too, because there's never a good enough reason, except that I'm lying there bored. So I guess my answer is that they both suck equally.
