1. People shouldn't be posting that many attachments, anyway, like James said. It takes up space on OB. The obvious solution is to put all their pics on one page, that way it only takes one attachment to get them up there (I hope I'm explaining it right). You can do that with freaking MS Word, for godsake (though it wouldn't be ideal, it would work). The point is, it's not hard. It seems like it would save more time for the poster, anyway, because you have to wait 60 or so seconds between each post as it is. A bunch of attachments just wastes space.
2. This is a question I've actually stuggled with from time to time. My family has very strong Republican ties. Needless to say, I was raised hearing Rush Limbaugh, blocking abortion clinics, going to rallies, hearing all about how horrible liberals are, etc. It's funny how even to this day, my mom can make the most absurd conservative policy seem justifiable, & vice versa about liberals. I don't really see much difference in either party, concerning corruption & want for power (& not just political). I don't have time right now to explain myself b/c my ride just got here. I don't vote often, but when I do, it's Libertarian. I'll come back tonight & explain what I mean.
3. Apparently, i have the hugest, most fragile ego in here. Hmm. That's probably pretty accurate.
4. I couldn't imagine joining any branch with what's going on right now. Just don't get yourself killed.
5. 1.) What thoughts or words come to mind when someone says, "Church"? Boredom. Trying to sleep during the service & having my dad wake me up. A chore, like school. Trying to fake sick every Sunday. People who despise me. Two-faced hypocrites. (These memories come from earlier in childhood, like ages 5-14 or so.) 2.) Give two reasons why you don't go to church See above. I don't know, I'd much rather be doing something else. I have to make myself go when I do (which is not often), & once I get there I can't wait for it to be over. I just don't see the point, a lot of times. 3.) What qualities do you think a church needs to be a "good" church? Alcohol. No preaching or singing. No God stuff. A live rock band. Wait, that's a club. Seriously, though, I couldn't even begin to imagine. I know many people out there find church to be fun, exciting, informative, social, spiritual, etc. But I honestly don't see how I personally could ever find it anything but tedious. & don't tell me to try different churches, either, because no matter what kind of church anybody could describe, I've been to one exactly like it.
6. He wore cool sweaters. ::wanders off to find sweater for tomorrow:: EDIT: I just noticed, treton did the same thing. We should all wear sweaters tomorrow.
7. What... the... hell... is that...
8. I really want to know what this is supposed to tell me... hint, hint...
9. Yeah, I know. I nearly collapsed. I hope he'll still be my love slave. Uh, yeah... two girls are better than one. ::successfully dodges modrod::
10. I thought you were just joking when you said you having trouble sorting it out! lol I was wondering, how old are you, what kind of thoughts/experiences have you been having, & what makes you think you might be bi? Transtic explains the difference better than anyone I've heard so far here, second post down. Just substitute "bi" for "gay." It would also help if you explained a little further so I can give you proper advice. Transtic, I suppose you've become the guru on this subject around here, whether you like it or not. lol
11. I don't get bored here, despite depressing threads, because I've had to leave the Boards for extended periods of time, & I missed many people a lot. It wasn't until I didn't have a way to come here that I realized how important the friends I've made here are to me. I almost feel protective of this place, in a way. If somebody were to disrespect the boards or any of its members, I'd probably snap off on them hard. It becomes like a society to those who have been here awhile.
12. It went downhill after they started censoring the baby, though. I quit watching after that, but the early episodes were good.
13. I don't think there's anyone alive who thinks this isn't a disaster waiting to happen. I personally am hoping that the viewers will be so disgusted or bored that they'll vote for the worst, least compatible couple possible. That is actually something I might flip to once in awhile. You know, morbid curiosity, like a car crash.
14. I didn't hear this band til late last night, and, let me tell you, I could have very well died much happier without hearing that crap.
15. Maybe it was the mutating pesticides, like in the move Ticks. Attack of the Killer Artichokes.
16. I, quite frankly, am sick of the snow. It has snowed all winter. This has never happened before as far as I can remember. It's snowing right now, in fact. It sucks because where I live it takes about thirty years for the snow-plows to come through, & when they do, they create a huge barricade of snow at the foot of my driveway.
17.
Originally posted by Forest_Pixie Think of a desert... Now think of a cube in the desert. How big is it? What is it made of? What color? Is it floating in the air or flat in the sand? Not think of a ladder in the desert. What is it made of? Where is it in relationship to the cube?(on top of it. leaning againrt it.) Not think of a horse. What kind of horse is it? Where is the horse in relationship to the cube?
Uhhh... okay. The cube is as big is a house & made of light blue translucent glass. It's flat on the sand. The ladder is made of shimmering gold & is hanging in the sky above the cube. The horse is reddish brown with a black mane & tail, & white markings on the bottoms of its legs & on the front of it's face. It's a Tennesee Walker. It's running all over the place, like the horses in the Black Stallion Returns.
18. Charles took the words right out of my mouth. Winter is generally a more depressing time of year that makes people sit back & speculate about things, because in general people are more cooped up. It's also slam in the middle of the school year, which would depress anybody. Those type of threads will probably clear up in a few months. I also agree that the rules keep things from going haywire around here with spam, pointless threads, etc. Some people complain about them, but I for one have never really had a problem following them. The rules don't really ask much of the members. I mean, everyone slips up sometimes, but the mods at least examine the context before they come down on someone. On the whole, the rules make this a much more mature place. I've tried other forums with virtually no rules, & the spam was outrageous, as was the flaming, which I see as utterly pointless. I joined this board to discuss things, not to read "YAY!!!" as a post or ""**** you *****, you don't know what the **** you're talking about, *******!" I mean, that's just a waste of time. Also, everyone is growing up. Those members who have been around awhile have gotten used to the boards & are more comfortable expressing their opinions. I know the quality of my own posts has gone up since I first joined. Lalaith Ril, I've noticed that you've matured a lot. So have many others. Besides, the whole, shall I say, "screening process" weeds out the ones who won't be quality posters. I can usually tell by a newbie's first posts if they're going to last around here or not.
19. But the surgeon admitted that he didn't check the info on the organs. He just assumed they were the right type. He could have at least looked at it. Plus the family specifically said not to pull the plug until they got a second opinion. The hospital could have at least waited that long, so it seems suspicious.
20. I like Carlos Santana, though. I was glad he won something. (I didn't watch the Grammys, though, I never do.) He's a genius with the guitar. I heard him say some things recently that I thought were great. 1) A true musical experience makes you want to "dance, laugh, & cry all at the same time. It's like a spiritual orgasm." 2) (This is the best one.) "You must be one with your guitar before you even begin to play." He compared his guitar to a woman & playing it to "making love." I really admire someone who is that passionate about their music. I haven't reached that stage yet, but I hope I do.
21. I really don't see the point in any scenario, because if they ask you to lie, they know you're lying. What's the point of that? You can tell the truth in a way that won't hurt anyone's feelings. Once, I had to tell one of my best friends that her husband had tried to kiss me & get me to have sex with him. I guess she could tell what I was about to say from how I was leading up to it, because she started acting like she didn't want to hear it. But I said it anyway. The next day, she said she had wanted me to lie to her at the time, but looking back on it she was really glad I didn't. In those serious situations, it depends on the circumstance. For the cancer thing, I'd just say "I don't know. I hope so. But God is watching over her" or something comforting along those lines.
22. I'm sure you've all heard about this. A girl was given the wrong heart & lungs in her transplant. Apparently, the blood type was wrong. The surgeon claimed that the donation society (or whatever it's called) should have made sure everything was straight, so he didn't bother to double-check the blood type (or anything, I'm assuming). PLEASE! What kind of an excuse is that? Then, to add insult to injury, after the hospital scrambled around to find a new set of organs, they gave her a new transplant. But soon after, the doctors claimed she was brain damaged & would die. The parents asked for a second opinion from an outside consultant, but before they could get it, the hospital pulled the plug! The family was very upset. I don't know about you but this is very disturbing to me. Putting organs in with the wrong blood type is like putting kerosene into your gas tank! You'd think the doctors would be not ignorant enough, having gone to medical school, to at least get that easy part right. Also, the wrong organs could have gone to someone else (or two or three people) & saved their lives, which basically means they had a hand in killing more people. And the fact that they pulled the plug after the family said to wait says to me that they're covering up something.
23. I haven't read the whole thread, but... First of all, it's really lame that they had to use pyrotechnics in an intimate setting like that to make their show good. Jeez. Their music must suck. Secondly, I saw the footage of what it looked like inside the club: 1) Low ceilings 2) Tight space 3) Way crowded 4) Wood building/wood everywhere 5) All the flames shot pretty much the same distance in the air, so it's not like the products malfunctioned or anything, & they were way too tall for point number 1. Whoever thought of using pyrotechnics of any kind in there was a complete idiot. The families should sue the f*ck out of everybody involved.
24. Back when I was in school I would not have commited to either so I could date both, but, hey, that's just me.
25. I've been using liquid. I like to change things aroung a lot though (except my beautiful ava). So I'll probably switch it soon.
