1. rotfl! That reminds me of "work day" at my old high school. One day every year was devoted entirely to cleaning. If you didn't show up that day, you got an F test grade in your worst class. The worst thing I ever had to do was clean the boys bathroom by myself with no gloves & only paper towels & a spray bottle. When I wiped underneath the urinals, black chunks fell & there was this weird yellow goo. Also, if you got a demerit (which you could get for practically anything, like wearing a sweater inside even though the gun furnace had run out of oil in February) you had lunch detention, which was also cleaning or pulling weeds or raking leaves. You didn't get to eat. Once you got 6 demerits, you got after school detention (cleaning and/or pulling weeds and/or raking) for one hour. Now that school was majorly cheap. I'm not making this up. Another time, I was doing an english worksheet (I was a senior, by the way). This friend of mine, Ryan, told me to look at the bottom of the sheet. There, next to the copyright in very small letters was printed "Grammar Grade 7." Needless to say, we all got an A.
2. Hmmm... slackers wasting the educational system... Maybe we shouldn't be forced to go to school after a certain point. I don't mean everyone should be able to cut class or whatever, but you'd have a choice to enroll at the beginning of the year, learn a trade, get a job, etc. I think once teenagers work, then realize how broke they're going to be w/out an education, they'll wake up real quick. It is pretty stupid to make teenagers go who are just going to skip or slack off. So don't make them, they're just wasting everyone's time. If they change their minds, they could always come back. It's pretty unrealistic to expect all teenagers to be focused & motivated during this time. Many just need to mature. Courses for adults who want to get their diploma should be free of charge for this type of situation, I think. There's probably a million things wrong with this idea, since I just thought of it, so feel free to make suggestions or tell me I'm an idiot. It's the best thing I could come up with on short notice.
3. Mike was always commenting on hot chicks on TV & stuff, so I decided to make a comment on Legolas. He got all infuriated & said Legolas was gay & he could kick Legolas' ***. I was like, "Oh yeah? Can you shoot two arrows perfectly at the same time?" (Kinda like how Sephiroth brags about Mr. Satan -- it's just a friggin' joke.) He said, "Hell yeah, I'm a better archer than he is!" And he was dead serious. Then this huge argument happened about whether he'd actually be able to kick Legolas' ***. The whole time I was trying to make him understand that Legolas is just a made up character. That's like trying to argue that you could fight J.R.R. Tolkien's imagination.
4.
Originally posted by Blanko actualy it was not this thread it was what me and him were talking about through PRIVET MESSEGES
Good lord! How old are you, Lalaith Ril, anyway? I'm trying to make a point by that question. I think you should start reading your parents' e-mail, or something, just so they know how it feels. Jeez! How would you like that, Lalaith Ril's parents? Well, maybe that's not the greatest idea, but good god.
5. Harry said he doesn't think there is an edge. He didn't mention the expanding thing. I don't know if the universe is expanding or infinite or what. If it is finite, I have no clue what would be on the other side. If it were expanding, it would have to be, in a sense, wiping out whatever was on the other side of the "edge" to make room for its growth. It could be nothingness but I don't see how. & if it's infinite, that's not something the human mind can comprehend at this point. Like the nothingness thing. I suppose everything could be the center. Who knows?
6. Normally I'd say screw the wheelchair, but things have happened in my life lately that I want to be around for. I think I'm getting less selfish. I'd think about my loved ones.
7. Drew Barrymore Pink Christina Ricci Tommy Lee Snoop Dogg Eminem Long Beach Dub All-Stars Fiona Apple Selene Vigil Jimmy Fallon Sum 41 Madonna Sandra Bernhard (sp?) Others I can't think of right now. They all seem like they'd be really cool to party with or be friends with. That's the way I was looking at it. There's no one I particularly love/idolize. As for what I'd ask, nothing. I'd just have regular conversation. Maybe I'd ask to jam with a few of them.
8. I took Adam's "Who is your Anime Boyfriend" quiz & I ended up with a guy named Sanzo (I think that's how you spell it) but I have no idea who he is. He has blonde hair & looks kinda tough. Could anyone tell me, & perhaps provide pics or links? I'm just curious.
9. I love the 80's hair bands. And those chick groupies... think Kelly from Married with Children. Ah, hilarious times. & the poppy trendy stuff was great, too. "We can dance if you want to, We can leave your friends behind. Cause your friends don't dance & if they don't dance Well, they're no friends of mine!" Plus, you know, it was the end of the true punk era.
10. See my sig. It's the best Simpsons quote of all time.
11. Gokents, it sounds like you really feel for Joe. I mean, the poor guy. Rotfl! I caught the end of it before the news, so I guess the chick didn't care about the money after all, so, it's okay, Gokents, they lived happily ever after. "God bless us every one!"
12. My Guitar. No matter how I'm feeling, I can always think of the perfect song to play. Curling up in bed with my dog. He's a cuddle-baby & always knows when I need cheering up. A roof over my head, in a warm place. It's something I never take for granted anymore. I love to be able to wear shorts inside, too. Food. I've quit smoking, so yeah. Calm. When I listen & don't hear arguing, it's the best feeling in the world.
13. Actually, vegeta rocker, I've had gay pets before, too, but I didn't bring it up because I didn't think anybody would believe me! But I have witnessed gay behavior in animals many times, so I suppose it doesn't matter what species you are.
14. The hours they give you don't seem to leave much room for having any fun, unless you want to stay out til 4 AM or something. Then you'd have to readjust your biological clock constantly so you wouldn't be tired for your classes. It'd be better to find a job where the hours match your weekday schedule.
15.
Originally posted by Mnemolth ...on the other hand, one cannot say the same about your head... ;)
Actually, it didn't hurt at all, lol. :alcohol:
16. Once, when I was drunk, I tripped over the cat & knocked over the table with the TV & DVD player on it. Everything crashed to the floor. I tried to catch myself on the door frame but missed & busted a hole in the wall with my head. The TV & DVD player weren't broken, though, thank God. Luckily, I didn't remember it the next day. ;)
17.
That's "ignoramuses." How ironic, heheh. lol, I couldn't resist this one. Poor Harry... If only Jenni hadn't enflamed everyone with her idiotic attitude, he might have been able to make a valid point before everyone started snapping. Tsk, tsk. rotfl! And Jenni... If you're so bored that you feel the need to get people to *****, as you say, to amuse yourself, then this might not be the best place for you. Try antagonists.com or something. Just a suggestion. ;)
18.
Originally posted by Rick Hunter and umm Genkai? Is making sweet love your answer and solution to all of life's problems? :p
To most adolescent males? Yes. Yes it is. See also my sig.
19.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka My reasonable aspirations: Me and Ryan are going to get married in the Salt Lake Temple because it is my most favorite one.
Gah! She already has it planned! Run for the hills, man! Run!!! Tee-hee, just kidding. Don't kill me, Tori! I couldn't resist.
20. I think Genkai's plan is a good one. ROTFL! Seriously, though, she shouldn't be snapping off on the teachers. I'm guessing she's your age... what's she going to be acting like in a couple years, when people really start getting a chip on their shoulders? That kind of attitude can get you in more trouble than it's worth in the future. I would know. >_
21. I had the same problem with my mother a few months after I joined the boards. She was reading my PMs. I switched my options so that I had to log myself in with a password every time I got on. I also deleted it from the history, like Sara suggested. Haven't had a problem since. My parents have always loved doing things like reading my diary, e-mail, messages, spying on phone conversations, etc., etc. I have had numerous, sometimes heated, talks with them over this & they refused to budge. It's not nearly as bad these days, but it still happens & I'm 23 years old! Luckily I don't often stay with them. So, yeah, it's just something I learned to deal with. Which is kinda funny as well as counter-productive, because it made me 10 times as sneaky as I would have been! You might want to mention that to your dad. Or maybe he's trying to live vicariously though you. Who knows?
22. I kinda wish you wouldn't, for reasons of nostalgia, but if you think it would be better for the site, then I guess go ahead. :bawl: But I don't have to like it! p.s. I voted for "I don't care" even though I do. p.s.s. Maybe we should ask some newbies who don't have such emotional ties.
23. When I read your post, my jaw just dropped. I'd do anything to be giving you a hug right now! I knew about your brother but I had no idea something like this could happen. You are such a loving sister, I'm sure he was very happy & is watching over you right now, wrapping his little arms around you, making sure you'll be okay. I can imagine him running & playing with the other children, laughing, in a place where there is no illness. I hope you'll do the same. That's just what he would want you to do. I won't lie to you -- some moments will be unbearable, even years later. I'm almost tearing up as I write this thinking of the one I lost. But other times will fill you with joy as you remember him & what a wonderful gift he was (and still is) in your life. Things will pop into your head that you never realized meant so much. You'll gain a greater perspective into who he truly was than you ever would have before. Like I said, I hope you'll focus on these things. You need to grieve his death, but don't forget to celebrate his life. :)
24. Well, I was always considered nerdy because of my grades. The other stereotype about me is actually true. I'm a pale, red-haired Scot-Irish lassie who can drink any man under the table... heheh...
25. Yeah, I've pretty much always been the black sheep... of everything. You just have to put up with it while you're growing up. I don't really much care anymore, though. One day you'll realize that you don't have to fit a particular mold to please other people & that it doesn't matter what they think. There are plenty of people out there who are more open-minded, you just have to find them. They will come to be like a second family to you. Another thing -- your family might think you're just in a "phase" & are trying to discourage what they consider unusual behavior. But as you get older, they will learn to accept who you really are, because right now they probably have no idea.
