Dysfunctional. This word used to be used by psycologists to describe people/familes/situations that had major problems. Now, the way you figure it, everybody is dysfunctional. You know what I'm saying? I know it's a phrase, but it's worth mentioning. Where I come from, certain people use it in every sentence. It's taken the place of saying "like" every five seconds. I always feel like hollering, "If I knew what you were saying, you wouldn't have to tell me!"

Ahh, If only I could suck the life out of Dragonball. It will always be my anime idol. Yes, I have watched the series all the way through. It is genius. Nothing can compare to the break threakthrough of the inner truth that is explains the mysteries of the universe.l Dragonball Z conntains the answers to the key to life. No none should dismiss them so easily.

Obviously, Vegeta and Goku live much longer than humans. I would like to see what happens to them. After all, they will outlive everyone they know and love. Will the Saya-jins live on, or will the race die out?

I know, I've been away for awhile. I had to find myself. Now that I am close, I need you, my friends from the boards. You are all in my heart, especially Ryan, James, Alice, Moe, Jenna, Charlie, Mitch, Adam, Tori, Harlequin, Raven and countless others. I have reached a new plateau. I am living something I never dreamed possible. To all those I love: speak to me now. I am nothing without you. You are the sunrise after the darkness of my despair. I beg you not to abandon me now. I love you all more than I can say. Tori and Jenna... we will always be the Angels, no matter what trials await us. You will always be my sisters. Take this, my heart and love, forever and ever. To the grave, I will always hold you dear. James (ha, the illustrious Mr. Burns), You will always be my love. I could never fathom someone like you. Your existance is enough, and I have hope. Ryan (Vegitto4): Our friendship has overwhelmed me. I vow to see you soon, to kiss your face, and to tell you of how I appreciate you for believing in me. Mitch: You are part of the dark half of me, the part I always supressed... but now I welcome that part of me with open arms. My friends: Be with me now. I need the encouragement of your words. All my love I give to you. You have always had it, and always will.

*Do you think that things are labeled 'vices' because society shapes them to be 'wrong', or are they born vices out of human nature? Why can't they be both? Logically, they had to have been born of human nature at some point, but have become societal (especially with teenagers). *Do you have any personal vices, or any that you believe are destructive to yourself or others? [Vices aren't necessarily all morally 'wrong', but are sometimes simply bad habits [ex. smoking] that someone finds pleasure in.] I smoke too much, I drink too much, I smoke too much weed. I'm too self-centered *What certain vices do you find to be the most destructive in today's society? Is that vice considered 'morally wrong'? Are there any vices that you believe to be fairly harmless? The love of money. Yes, it's the root of all evil, so they say. I wouldn't say that any vice is totally harmless, but some are obviously worse than others.

I was not allowed to watch the Smurfs. Or Scooby-Doo. Or Masters of the Universe. Or the Count on Sesamee Street. Or The Land Before Time movie. And about a million other things. To this day, I have not seen a single Smurf episode. It's a long story. Let's just say, those programs were "evil".

I've always loved Metallica's "Dyer's Eve". It's on the "...And Justice For All" CD, I believe, though I couldn't swear to it. It's one of the few songs that describes my relationship with my parents perfectly. God! If only I had my Metallica and Pantera CDs back again. Oh, if you want to hear something really crazy, you should watch the live Slayer home video with "213" on it. You're just like "Whoa, that guy is really sick." Slayer is another kick-*** metal band. I don't know if y'all would consider this metal, but Guns n' Roses kills me every time. I die when I hear them, and then they bring me back to life. That Axl. What a dumb little punk. He sure can belt out the tones, though. Many people say that the beginning of metal was due to Led Zepplin. Though I would not categorize them as metal these days, they are worth a listen. I think I have their whole first CD memorized. After that, it's kind of a blur. Zepplin does that to ya. If DK mentions Cradle of Filth while I'm gone, somebody smack him for me. When I downloaded and listened to the song he suggested, I felt like I was being possessed by demons. I ran to my room and hid under the covers.

I would love to be a guy for a little while. I wouldn't want to make a permanent switch, but I'd make a temporary one a true adventure. I would be such a dog. I'd be just like Christian Troy from "Nip/Tuck". I'd be picking up hot chicks left and right. I'd be really macho. I'd work out and get a tan. I'd be really narcissistic. Then, I'd go around all James-Dean-like, you know, a black leather biker jacket, white t-shirt, tight jeans, and black biker boots. I'd always have a cigarette in my mouth. I'd drive a sweet Harley. I'd be just like James Dean, I tell you. But I'd probably have some of that Humfrey Bogart from "Casablanca" thing going on too, where you don't care about anything because there's this one horible pain that always eats away at you. I'd be tragic, and since I'm a woman, I'd know just how to play it right if I were switched. Oh, would I have fun with the ladies. And I'd be really wild, wilder than I am now, which is a little scary. But, like I said, it wouldn't be permanent. Woman have too much power. I wouldn't want to give it up.

"#1 Crush" by Garbage always does it for me. It's that passionate love, than once-in-a-lifetime affair, that perfect sex. That's what the song's all about. The feeling rages inside you all the time. It's a rush of adrenaline. You feel as if you would actually blow away a bunch of cops to get him out of jail and run off to Mexico, that sort of thing. You'd kill anybody. It's a love so powerful, it's violent. So you can just imagine the sex. That song reminds me of all that. That's true love right there, Holy Communion.

Best songs of the Misfits (off the top of my head). "She" is definitely number one. It's my fantasy, my life, and the first time I ever heard Glen's voice. Last Caress, Cough/Cool (the Collection 2 version), Die, Die My Darling, Nike-A-Go-Go, 20 Eyes, Mommy Can I go Out and Kill Tonight... God, there are just too many to name. But if I could have just one Misfits CD back, it would be Collection 2. And what I wouldn't give for the boxed set, the one that looks like a coffin.

I'm not going to include any anime or adult cartoons in this. I'm only going to judge it by the shows I watched as a kid. The thing that sticks out the most in my mind in "Looney Tunes" or "Merrie Melodies". Daffy Duck was always my favorite character. And I was obsessed with the show "Ducktales", with Scrooge McDuck and his money bin. I can still sing the theme song, and have every episode memorized, to this day. I was also enamored with "Voltron" althought I can't remember a damn thing about it except that it was produced by Saban and reminds me of "Power Rangers".

Well, it also hits me like a ton of bricks whenever Vegeta has an emotional scene on "Dragonball Z", if that makes you feel any better. "The End of Vegeta", when he makes that speech about Saiya-jin pride as he's dying, I just wanted to bust into the TV and save him. "Final Atonement", when he has his last talk with Chibi Trunks and hugs him for the first time. And earlier in the series when Trunks defeats Goten, and Vegeta is smiling like that, it made me so proud, I almost started crying. "Transformed at Last" (which had nothing to do with Vegeta), was so utterly moving to me, because we'd all watched Goku for years, and he finally did it. I get choked up every time. And when Furiza finally apprears, and sends the red dot into Piccolo, and the dust is flying away from it, it gives me chills every time. It's ****ing amazing. Also, I cried at age 5 when Bambi's mother died, but don't tell anyone. And don't even get me started on "Cowboy Bebop". The sob sessions are too many to count.

It's funny how seriously people are taking this idea with their answers.... Our pets are dumb. They don't even know what the concept of "god" is. There.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie I have been getting into a lot of older music lately outside the whole punk genre (as Lady M has listed; Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Sex Pistols, etc.)
It's so good that you're doing that. There was a time when all I listened to was punk, and I think it effected my attitude in a negative way. Then there were the metal years. I spent most of the time ready to kill and thinking I was god. It's better to not limit yourself to one form of music. That way, you always have something to listen to, whatever mood you are in, or want to be in. Music is much more powerful than people give it credit for. "When it's my turn to march up to Glory/ I'm gonna have one hell of a story/ that's if He forgives me./ Oh Lord, please forgive me!" (not metal, I know)
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Then there's Pantera. I'm not into them as much as I used to be, but they're quite good. Anything other than Reinventing the Steel is worth checking out. Down is another band, which has some of the same members. I actually prefer them to Pantera as they're a bit more melodic. They have a Black Sabbath style about their sound.
"Official Live: 101 Proof" is their best album, in my opinion. That live version of "Becoming" is probably one of my favorite songs of all time.

Pantera & Metallica (old). That's all I have to say.

"Love Bites" by DL was the song of a couple I used to be in... fabulous to make love to, and it's not about what people think. "Patience" by Guns n' Roses was also as special song, for Josh and me, the sexy rock star drummer, the only guy who ever dogged me, really. I still can't listen to Guns n' Roses because of him. The song "You Shook Me" by AC/DC always sends me through the roof. Also, "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" by Pink Floyd. That basically describes my school years. PS: If all these people are IM-ing me at one time, I can't answer properly.

Your accent is perfectly American. It's like you memorize the pronunciations in the dictionary and practice them, like my mom does. You should be a dee-jay, or a news anchor. PS: James -- An australian accent can never be regular or boring. It's sexy X's 12. That's why I love you so damn much. I can just imagine it now.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka So how bad is my Southern accent? You have commented on it on a few occassions. ^_^;
You sounded like (and no offense by this whatsoever) an innocent little girl just waiting to be corrupted. You sneaky thing. You're bad inside... and you know it.

When I listen to "modern rock", with rare exceptions, I want to throw my radio out the window. Maybe that's why I've been listening to more country lately. My list of classic rock bands is far too long to mention or remember, but at the moment it's: Creedence Clearwater Revival Blue Oyster Cult Charlie Daniels Band Lynyrd Skynyrd Can't think of any more. And of course let's all salute the first gods of punk: The Misfists Sex Pistols Dead Kennedys The Ramones I'm brain dead at the moment, I know there's more.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Everyone has accents. Even people who have been in America and have totally American parents. I'm in Chicago. If I go to some other state, or even southern Illinois... people can tell. I apparently have a Chicago accent, even though I can't notice it at all.
I think we talked about this. You had such a proper accent that I thought you must be younger than you claimed. But then you said I had an accent, and I was surprised. I'm still trying to figure out the "phone" thing. I'm saying it to myself right now. Nope, it's not weird. Now the way you say it... now that's weird. It's twilight zone perfectly phonetic. It's strange... of the people here than I've actually spoken to, none of them sounded anything like I thought, except for treton_noir (but he wasn't as goofy as on OB).

Well. I never used to cry. It used to be almost a motto for me... never cry. You can imagine that it's all down the crapper now. Practically anything will do it. For example, in my developmental psych class, we had this lecture on prenatal development, and I had to leave the room about 5 times to puke and then cry, especially when the statistics were brought up. I'm more likely to go into rages, though. It's like I have a permanent case of PMS. And then there's the cancer remission treatment. Not fun. Everyone keeps saying it'll get better, but it's only gotten worse. I can't even watch a diaper commercial withough hurling things at the TV. The pain better decrease soon, or I'm seriously going to off myself. This is no joke. I can't take it.
