i still don't see why anyone would even go on jerry springer b/c they have to know they're about to get royally screwed on national tv...
-
it got pretty bad reviews by the richmond times dispatch's artsy-fartsy film critic, so it must be kick-a$s.

i have some jewish ancestry so i can relate to this stuff better than most. i'm glad we don't live in those times & are protected from that kind of thing here i america, for the most part. but if it's not one thing, it's another. let's face it, until all prejudice is erased from the world, none of us are truly safe...
Originally posted by Justin *Sigh* Don't we all, though? Ah well...Although, I'm going to try to do what I said in my first post in this topic, I'll probably just have one big, juicy party. Seeing as how I do live alone...my house is the spot for partying. And I'm throwing one this Friday night! :alcohol: -Justin
i told you to invite me to one of your parties. but you never did, you meanie. oh, well, i'm pretty burned out from all the ones i've been having, anyway. god, i love it when summer starts coming around.
Originally posted by ~Mystical Pan~ er, while we're on the subject, has anyone ever used the shampoo bottle as a microphone to sing? lol *looks around* I have..><
yeah, but i find that my brother's back-scrubbing brush works better. & don't even getr me started on when i'm sweeping the floors. the broom is the best fake-microphone of all.
Originally posted by James Even though we get a lot of people "spilling their guts" here...and others always say how bad it is, in some ways, it's a good sign. I mean, people feel that they can open up here without being judged. And when they can't talk to their own family or friends about something, it might help to talk to people in a situation where they're not going to judge you... So in some ways, the whole "subculture" thing isn't so bad. We're all different...we've all had different experiences and because the Internet is pretty anonymous, we can talk more openly here than we could in "real life". So for some it's a benefit.
yeah, i completely agree. i find it easier to talk about problems i'm having or situations i'm in on these boards b/c i don't know any of you in real life... it's kind of like having a bunch of therapists. & even if someone does judge me, it doesn't really bother me b/c no one is saying it straight to my face. plus, we come from all different types of backgrounds, so we can get different advice & perspectives than we normally would if we just talked to the people we usually hang with. i feel like i usually get better feedback here. thanks for everything, guys. maybe i'm just dense, but what the heck is a "skin"? excuse me if this has already been answered, i must have missed it.

i just can't wait to see hayden christiansen as anakin, he is so tasty... plus i'm all hyped b/c fox has been showing all the older ones on thursdays. -
true punk is dead, i think it happened when the misfits broke up or something... or maybe when the sex pistols put aside their differences for the sake of the money... btw, i am wearing a dead kennedys shirt right now, it says "give me convenience or give me death." how fitting for this thread. :p

i don't agree w/ censorship at all, but a lot of stuff coming out these days is just for shock value & has no real musical purpose at all. it's just meant to make money. but i guess if people want to flush their money down the toilet, it's their business. there's a lot of tasteless crap out there, though.
-
i'll probably see it, b/c i love ol' spidey & kirsten dunst is hot. :tasty:

he can be pretty amusing at times, but he annoys me when he makes fun of songs i like. if i was a musician with a famous song, that would really irritate me.

i think what it comes down to is that people these days are voyeurs. it's kind of sick & perverted, really. people love seeing other people fight & have conflicts. temptation island & jerry springer, etc., are perfect examples. it's just profiting off of other people's pain (when it isn't staged, that is).
-
i can tolerate them. i probably wouldn't buy their cd, but i won't change the channel if the video comes on. there has been some pretty decent music coming out lately. i'm just waiting to see if it will last.
-
yeah... all the time. i usually turn on the radio while i'm taking a shower. then i sing at the top of my lungs. you get great acoustics in the shower... with the tile & everything.

well... in was more interesting than regular pong at least. my dad laughed really hard when he saw it, so it must have been cheesy. :p

mostly, i've been called "punk" but i'm too much of a hippie to be punk. let's just say i'm in "transition" right now. i'm not anything, really. -
i'm not sure what i'm doing. i thought i was going to be partying a lot at the river, but a lot of weird stuff has been happening. i think i might just disappear for awhile, get the hell outta dodge. go to europe or something. i'm so stressed, i just need to relax & get my mind off of things.
Originally posted by WaruShadow Michael Crichton pointed out something very interesting in oneof his noevls. His characters were talking about science, and the mathematican said something along the lines of how in the future, people were going to laugh at us for believing in protons and electrons and stuff, just like we laughed at the people 50 years before us for believing what they did in science at the time.
i see your point, but i don't think this opinion encompasses all of science. many things discovered a hundred years ago still hold true today. but i'm sure some things will be disproven, & even seen as ridiculous or primitive. a good book to read if you want to get started on a new type of mythology is The First Love Stories (can't remember author right now). it basically has the "adam & eve" type tales from various religions & myths. off the top of my head, it has shiva & sati (hindu), layla & majnun (arabian), psyche & eros (greek), isis & osiris (egyptian), tristan & isolde (celtic), etc. it's very well written, w/ detailed accounts of the relationships. warning: most of them don't end up very well, unless you count being together in the afterlife.

Anyways, I am glad you had rockin 21st...I would have to say that my 21st was also the most fun and drawn out birthday I ever had...unfortunatly I cannot account for most of the events because I was ahem inebriated, annihilated, and totally sloshed...
yeah, i can totally relate, lol. i've spent a large portion of my time since turning 21 in a blackout. i'm kidding, you guys! jeeze. well, actually, not really, lol. vegitto4, any time you have leftover beer, you know who to call!:naughty:
Originally posted by BabyGirl I am a tailgater V_V The sad part is, I don't even realize that I'm following people too closely. I just think that I'm in a hurry and I kind of want them to speed up! Guess I should start paying attention to that...
yeah, you probably should... i did the same thing... until i rear ended a guy. it was raining & i hydroplaned. it was a big old steel truck that i hit... he had no damage at all, but my poor baby car was F*CKED! (sorry for the profanity, but it's the only way to describe how utterly messed up my car was). these days, i drive like an old lady. well, at least my insurance premiums won't be too high once i finally get a car.
