I watched the first and second season... I attempted to watch the third but I just found that they were all too similar for me... It got really old really fast ^^; ... Plus I think the end votes are rigged :animesigh Dunno why, just a thought.

"Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo" by the Bloodhound Gang bugged me for a while... But only because I couldn't figure out what foxtrot uniform charlie kilo meant ^^: At least I know now. Phew That and anything from Britney Spears; she can dance... But I'm sorry, SHE CAN'T SING... She sounds like a goat! :animesigh

My Chemical Romance is one of my favourite bands right now... Though the lead singer is a little creepy in the Helena music video o_O (He's so frick'n pale!). My favourite songs are Helena, To The End, and I'm Not Okay (I Promise).

Kenshin vs. Saitou is one of my favourite fights... The mood completely turns the series around and prepares it for the Kyoto arc. Edward vs. Roy was just hilarious... I love how Roy was exploiting all of Ed's weaknesses, yet Ed
won in the end
:D Any fight that can mix humor and action is good on my list :D (Dub ver.) Al: "So what's your strategy?" Ed: "I TOLD YOU: A FIST TO HIS FACE!" :catgirl:

Anime If you could be any anime character, who would you be?
maverickwarrior replied to Shadow Blade's topic in Otaku Central
If I could be any anime character I would be: Ban Midou (Getbackers), because: 1. I would have some great friends that I could rely on 2. I'd have the kickass hair/appearance :D 3. I'd have a v. beetle lol or I'd be: Tsuzuki Asato (Yami no Matsuei) because: 1. I wouldn't have to worry about dieing; I'd already be dead :P 2. Again with the appearance 3. I could eat so many sweets and not have to worry about my weight :D 4. I could have yaoi thoughts about Hisoka :animenose 5. I could summon the animal gods (forgot what they're actually called) 6. My job would take me to many different areas (er... of Japan :D ) -
I've seen the anime of Gravitation and read FAKE a couple of times, but Vol. 6 leaves me hanging since they don't sell the final volume of FAKE in bookstores..waa...
It took me FOREVER to find vol. 7 here... Almost 5 monthes ^^; Try looking on ebay or ordering it off of a website like Rightstuf.com On that note; Yami no Matsuei/Descendants of Darkness and Fake are my favourite shounen-ai's/yaoi's. YnM and Fake are absolutly hilarious and beautiful... Each has their own unique art styles suited for their story and period. I do hope that when YnM finishes there is some "progress" between Tsuzuki and Hisoka, if you know what I mean :animenose :D "I've seen whores with more shame than you, Dee!" -Ryo (Fake) :P

Manga What was your first manga?
maverickwarrior replied to Filipinorocker1's topic in Otaku Central
My very first manga was Ranma 1/2... I don't care very much for it now but at the time it was the only anime I knew of (I was... probably 9 years old when I bought it). Weird thing was the first volume I bought was volume 10... I was just so happy to see something Ranma 1/2 related I picked it up :animesmil At the time the humor sufficed, but now that I look back on the manga I really don't think it was all THAT amusing... After that I started collecting Fushigi Yuugi and then Tenchi Muyo... :catgirl: -
I'm not into a lot of J-pop... Mostly J-rock... But I do enjoy Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru... I'm not sure what catagory they would fall under but I also like L'arc En Ciel a LOT! :animenose
Oh yeah is HiHi Puffy Ami Yumi Considered rock or j-pop?
Personally... I would consider them J-pop :animeswea Just my opinion though

I am pretty computer illiterate... I've never really had to worry about the computer jargon since my parents paid for my computer and made all the decisions... But now that our household is getting a little bigger I'm thinking of getting a laptop for myself... I'm not sure what to look for (I know ---GB refers to the space, but that's about it).. Can anyone give me the definitions of like... What the speed of the comp is called and etc?
-
I *LOVE* L'arc En Ciel... They're my favourite j-band right now ^^ My favourite song is Lost Heaven... It's featured in the FullMetal Alchemist movie ^^ They've done lots of other good anime songs too. *cries* I wish they would come over to BC... I would pay so much to see them in concert ;_;

Anime What if you could have any Anime turned into a movie?
maverickwarrior replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Full Metal Alchemist would make a awesome live movie... Simply because the animation of Ed's transmutations and of Al's suit would kick butt!!! (it'd also be a cool challenge to pick a worthy actor to play Ed :D ) Could you imagine the detail of Ed's arm? (*drools*) -
Gwen Stefani- What was she thinking!?
maverickwarrior replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I used to love Gwen Stefani/No Doubt... Now I can't stand her... Every one of her songs is "Harajuku" this and has her japanese backup dancers... It's anoying after a while.. (We get it... You have a thing for the japanese, but... GIVE IT A REST) "Cool", her latest hit, pisses the hell out of me... >< The old band songs, like "Different People" and "Ex-girlfriend" are so much better than the stuff she's producing now... Apparently she's gonna create another solo-cd with the stuff that she didn't want to use on her first solo-cd... Great... So we're gonna get a cd of the stuff that she thinks weren't good enough for the first cd :animeangr -
I love Shinesman... To be honest it scared me at first but now I love it ^^ (It reminded me TOO much of Power Rangers ^^) It's a shame it was never truely completed... Even though it was a parody it still would have been nice to see an ending ^^: (I love Sheena :D ) "Ahhh, giant fish RIGHT in my face!" :animeswea

When
Tsuzuki wanted to kill himself at Muraki's lab
at the end of Yami no Matsuei, I'm almost cried (and I don't easily cry o_O ). That poor guy can't catch a break. I also thought that episode 8 of Fullmetal Alchemist was very sad... Poor
Nina... And Ed... I felt so bad for Ed when he started crying for her in the alleyway.
:animecry:

1. Kingdom Hearts 2: I want to play this soooooo badly!!! My poor Riku :animecry: I want to see the Mulan world ^^ I hope they get better voice actors this time around *shudders at the thought of Lance Bass* 2. FullMetal Alchemist 2: I wasn't too keen on the first game, but I'm a big FMA fan so I'll play whatever they bring out ^^ Plus I heard the second one has much more improvements. 3. Nothing else... Not much has really grabbed my attention this year. I guess I could always go for Zelda ^^

Real Name: Jessica... And the magically story of how I got this name? My mom looked it up in a baby book -_- Actually though my family has a tradition that all the kids' names have to start with J... So I guess that's a little interesting. Nicknames: I... Have... So.. Many... **Jess (shortened version of my name) **Jessie - same as above, only a few people call me this ^^; **Jisu - this is a shortened version of what we believe is my Japanese name (Jisushika). Only my oldest friend calls me this. **Kupo - my friend, whom I relcently got into Kingdom Hearts, is obsessed with the Moogles, so she calls me Kupo ^^ **Mavi - a shorter form of my most recent internet nickname... Anyone is free to call me this ^^ Some of my non-online friends call me this too ^^; **Maccy (pronounced Maw-key, like from BGCT 2040) - a shorter, more cute way of saying my last name. **Jolly Jess - this was a play off "Jolly Rancher" because when I was in grade 8 I had green hair... So they called me a jolly rancher ^^; Plus some others that I don't care to describe :animeshy:

My father is a spanish-scott and my mother is half scott half something else (actually she's not sure herself ^^: her father was adopted so I don't think he knows his bg). Really I just look like your everyday caucasian though. I have semi-pale skin and dark brown, wavy hair. My eyes are also a light blue :D Luckly I seem to have my dad's genes for the most part, which means that I'll have naturally colored hair even into my 70s :animesmil (my grandmother was almost 80 when she passed and barely had a grey hair on her head). I also have my dad's sun-tolerance (he grew up in Peru).. I can be out in the sun for HOURS and I'll barely tan. :animedepr

Downloading: For or against it?
maverickwarrior replied to kayutori_sama's topic in General Discussion
For music, I don't think it's right to download but I do it anyway... I mean... I only get paid $6 an hour, I can't afford to be buying $20 cd's with only 2 or 3 good songs on them o_O My personal rule is that if I download 4 songs from the same CD (or more) then I'll go buy the CD (like My Chemical Romance :D ) For movies, I don't download at all... I'm not sure why ^^; For anime, I use it as a form of preview system. For example; I downloaded the first 2 episodes of FullMetal Alchemist... I liked those episodes a LOT so I decided to buy the dvd, thus I deleted the files. If I don't like the anime then I delete the file and don't buy the anime. If I ever like a series I'll never download the whole thing (unless it's something that's not released yet, like Naruto) -
I think an adults perspective on anime is influenced based on what's on tv, unfortunatly. For example... When I was much younger, I was into Sailor Moon, and then Pokemon, and some other animes came along. Animes that were censored on tv drove my dad up the wall. He couldn't stand them and found them all very much alike. Then... In my early teen years... I got into the uncut stuff that isn't on tv... Cowboy Bebop, Sorcerer Hunters, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Ranma 1/2, etc. My dad didn't mind these animes at all, but of course every once in a while he'd be reminded of Sailor Moon or Pokemon and would turn away from it. I think if he had seen the CB movie or Spirited Away before Sailor Moon, he would like anime a lot more. I think anime is for adults and for children, but I also think first impressions on anime are very important for both age groups.
The Baldur's gate and Norath titles get really old really fast, slash slash slash spell, theres no real depth to them.
Unfortunatly that's kind of what Lord of the Rings: Return of the King feels like. It's only really worthwhile to the die-hard fans of the movies (I like the movies... but sometimes playing video games based on a movie seem exactly like the same thing... it's very irritating)[QUOTE']Go play "the hunter" =P
And what console is this for? (I tried it on google but too many games have "hunter" in it ^^; )

My friends and I are big RPG fans, so naturally when we found Lord of the Rings : The Third Age (a coop rpg) we were addicted to it. Unfortunatly I haven't been able to find a game similar to that since. Does anyone know of any decent 2-player RPGs / Coop games? :D

Well, technically I drink diet, caffeine free pepsi... But I'll put "pepsi" anyway ^^ Everyone says "oooh you can't taste a difference between Coke and Pepsi" but I can, I think Pepsi tastes a little less strong (if that makes any sense). Though if I'm going to a movie or something and all they have is coke then I'll drink it ^^: It doesn't bother me that much.

Anime What is your favorite anime character
maverickwarrior replied to sbrebaby's topic in Otaku Central
My favourite character is Ed from FullMetal Alchemist... He's funny, sweet, brave, and above all else; real. That's one of the things that bugs me in anime... When characters just look at death like it's nothing. But in FMA Ed reacts to death in a realistic fashion and actually shows some emotion. Underneath the tough exterior he's a little softy ^^ -
1) Pirates of the Caribbean -- God I love Johnny Depp! He's so frick'n funny! (Plus he's one of the few males who looks good in eyeliner :animenose ) 2) Ladder 49 -- This movie has everything: humor, romance, suspense... I just love when the goose leaps out of his locker ^^ 3) Titan AE -- I mostly love this movie because of the music. It has a GREAT soundtrack. I couldn't care less that Matt Damon and Drew Barrymore are in it though -_-

I don't believe in suicide... I've had friends who have attempted to (two succeeded) commit suicide in the past, plus I made an attempt myself on one occasion. Now that I really think things through I think it's ridiculous. If you commit suicide, your life is over. There's no second chance for happiness... It'd be better to live your life and try to make it better than to just simply end it. You only have one life so you may as well make it last. I especially don't care for suicide if it's just a means to get attention... That's just stuipid and incredibly self-centered. Suicide is so selfish... A lot of people think "oh, no one will miss me if I'm gone" but that's practically never true.
