GAME SHOWS: Wheel of Fortune- Honestly this show is just boring, especially after about 15 or 20 years. Watching a spinning wheel and some sort of scrabble and hangman variation is NOT FUN. PAX shows- Yeah you are right, my dad leaves these on sometimes and they are just reeking of sponsorship due to the fact that they have that stupid shooping show where they constantly say every ad slogan in existence.

OK, it is your own fault EA got this power. You bought thier badly made American games, and crappy movie translations. I hate American games, 95% are terrible, so obviously I don't like EA. I am not a big fan of sports games either, so really the only other reason I hate EA is because they take money away from companies like Nippon Ichi and Suda 51, who make good games.

Vash decides not to kill anyone due to the fact he is blinded by his power. He is so strong he tries to take the world's problems on his shoulders and thinks he can completely deal with them. Personally I do feel his logic is completely broken, and the show points it out. He has killed many people due to the fact that he cannot see the effects of his actions. If he was smart he would realize that killing one person early on, instead of letting him rampage until you could knock him out, would result in less deaths overall.

It is just the fact that thier is a character like Mei in every anime, the person with the rough childhood who is now very quiet and self-centered. Honestly, most of the characters are a little overused, but Dita still is funny, just because she is completely over-the-top. Anyway I was talking about the scene before that for the nudity, the 2nd scene with Jura. I am not perverted or anything, I just need to know if it was only me for a review.

Yeah I am looking forward to Gankutsuou too. It looks like it is going to be really good, even though I never really loved the book. I saw the box art for the Japanese dvd, and it is really cool, hopefully it stays like that throughout the show. Of course I probably won't wait for the American release of the whole series ;) .

Personally I like both of them, The Killers being my favorite band along with Franz Ferdiand, and The Bravery being in my top ten. Both of them have some pretty interesting pop-rock-synth songs that are really good. In my opinion, The Killers definitely have a future, all of the songs on thier cd are fun to listen to, and they are pretty popular. They were even on Rolling Stones a little while ago. The Bravery on the other hand, might not have that good of a chance. They are definitely pretty much a one-hit wonder in the publics eyes, with only the decent recieval of Honest Mistake to fall on. Even though their other two music videos are entertaining enough, they have gotten a lukewarm reception

L'arc en ciel is currently my favorite jpop band (ready, steady, go). Personally I like jrock because it is different from all the genric rock we get in America, and has a sort of mystical quality to it.

Bobobo is one of those shows where you have to leave your mind open. If you don't then you will just see through it's paper-thin plot andcomrdy, and be disappointed. If you go in openminded, you will end up chuckling a few times, and not mind it at all.

Anime Who do you think is the better zoid pilot, Bit Cloud or Van Flihyte
Killer7 replied to panzerzanaku's topic in Otaku Central
I remember when I used to wake up at around 600 A.M. to watch this show, that must of been 4 or 5 years ago.... how time flies. Anyway I must concur with you opinion. Van defintely has much harder battles, and it looks like he is just an all around better pilot. Also his zoid is much stronger due to that thing that goes inside the core (man I wish I could remember the name). -
Is it just me, or is there nudity during the ending? I am pretty sure thier is, but the show itself never has any nudity, as far as I have seen. Also, who else thinks Mei is a little too cliched?

OK ya got me, I honestly don't know what I meant when I said smoother movement transition ( I had just finished watching Adevnt Children, so that might be why). You also have to think that many animes have many different styles of art. A good example would be Trigun. In episode 2 thier is a scene where he dodges bullets and his body basically just appears in a different place (DBZ is also another example of this). But then you could get to episode 24
and the seen where Vash is forced to save the citizens Legato is controlling from the guy with the saxophone ( I forget his name). The horns effect on Vash is very strongly shown, clothes moving and his body showing the damage.
This style is apposed to the the more constant American style, which will obviously confuse you at times.

I don't know what you are talking about, every aspect of the anime you metioned were better then Avatar ( I will give you Lupin). Better character design, smoother movement transtion, and better at showing emotion are qualities pretty much every anime on your list posess. I have seen alot of hics in shows like Teen Titans and Avatar just from seeing around 2 episodes.
I love the game Gundam---Mobile Suit Gundam:Federation vs. Zeon. Its arcade styling and great gameplay keep bring me back daily.
I can't really say the gameplay is great, but recently they came out with a semi-sequel. Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam came out a few months and it is alot better. More mobile suits (around 70 I think), more missions, more unlockables, and better gameplay, make it a big YES for fans of FvsZ.

Well I watched the first 3 episodes and this show is hilarious( as everyone said). They really make good use of the women and men never seeing each other. The informational video in the beginning showing the girls as some sort of reptiles was funny as hell. Another pleasent suprise was that the doctor was voiced by Stephen Jay Blum (Spike Speigel), the women who did Mizuho Kazami in Onegai teacher voices one of the women, and the women who did B.T. in .Hack//Sign does a character named B.C. in Vandread ( :animesigh ).

Anime Is there such a thing as TOO obsessed?
Killer7 replied to Yoru4Kakashi's topic in Otaku Central
I guess I would consider myself obsessed. I spend about 75% of my free time doing something anime related, whether it be on the computer looking it up, on forums, buying it, or watching it. 20% more is used up for other stuff I like to do like playing guitar, watching tv, or playing video games. The last 5% is homework, and the funny thing is I am getting A's in basically all my classes (freshmen year in high school is easy). I have spent all my money for about the last 5 months doing anime related things, buying dvd's, manga, and models. Oh yeah and I have been to a convention and plan to go to 3 in the following year, and cosplay for my first time. PLus the fact that every day to school I wear anime shirts, and you could defintely call me obssesed. -
Wow this brings back memories, it has been at least 4 years since I played this game. Anyway, from what I remember the two main later series mobile suits (that you don't start out with) are kampfer and hygogg. I really just got them by accident doing alot of the extra missions, but I never got more then a few S's, so it shouldn't be to hard to get them. If you still need them go to gamefaqs.

:animeswea , anyway what are the mecha designs like in this show? I am still waiting to recieve the complete series so I need somethin to waste my time. Are the mechs slow and meandering like Gundam 0079 or are they faster like a ZOE type of thing?

I just got home from seeing the movie at my friends house and it's amazing. The CG is the best I have ever seen everything moves so realistically is was like they were real. Also the fight scenes were incredible, we're talking John Woo meets DBZ, I was just so incredibly cool I wanted to piss myself. The music is a mix of old FF7 songs and some new opera/rock music. THe story is a little confusing but it is up there with the best of them. As for the academy award, I have one word, NO.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Killer7 replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I only hope they do not cancel Inuyasha! I will be seriously steamed!
That won't happen, at least not until they finish the series. It is way to popular, and from what I have seen, the merchandise is selling very well. -
I pity the fool who thinks that Beyblade has better animation than Avatar and that Totoro isn't anime because it doesn't involve robots, long and drawn-out plots, magical girls, lots of gore and sex, and/or big-breasted babes.
Their is always exceptions, as with pretty much everything, but can you name ten good animes that have worse animation then Avatar? Also by themes I meant underlying Japanese culture not anime cliches.
-
That is very true. Longer story arcs like so tend to lead more filler, especially when the series was only mediocre in the first place (the whole ninja thing is the most original thing ever  ). Yu Yu Hakusho is the only exception I have ever seen, it's action is so fast paced and non-stop but it manages to last 100+ epsiodes anyway.
-
I do have to say any series that creates a huge universe like Outlaw star or .Hack (even though the story was more based around Tsukasa then the game) could definitely go fro 50 episodes or more. The problem is, these series are usually set up pretty linearly so it doesn't work out to well. Shows like Inuyasha and One Piece swerve off of the beaten path more whichs leads better to a longer series.

I saw this in a packed room at Otakon and it was really good, and extremely funny. Everyone in the theater cracked up at least 30 times. The idea behind the series is really original though, and so are some of the wierd characters.

My dream is to be a reviewer of anime, and actually make some sort of money off of it(or at least get the anime I have to review for free :animesmil ). I really like to review things (for some reason, I have no clue why) and I have wrote hundreds of reviews broken between games and anime. For me it is fun to break down anime, and examine it to it's core.

What do you think is the right length for an anime. Personally I prefer 26 episode, mostly because it allows good story development and not alot of filler. Anything higher then that usually ends up having too many pointless episodes (anyone remember the episode where Goku tried to get his driver's license in DBZ?) Anything lower then that sometimes ends up feeling incomplete and like it could be so much better.
