Rena-Chan, why do you care what these people have to say about you? What do they know about you that makes their opinion so important? Honestly. I want to know. These people are not you. Only you can make yourself feel a certain way, and only you can allow them to bother you. I won't say ignore them, because I've found that it doesn't always work, and I won't say that you should try to be friends with those idiots. Just...only you can make your self feel a certain way. You've given them permission to bother you, so to speak. As for that...incident. It can't have necessarily been your fault. Did you ask the person to? No? Then you didn't do it. Crap happens to good people sometimes--I think I would know about that--and it takes a while to recover from some of the crap. I've also been teased, taunted, and had a less than pleasant childhood for the most part. The foster care system can get crazy at times, but I pulled through. You can pull through this mess as well. You seem to be a strong person to not have crashed yet. Let that strength work for you. Do something that you like, and boost that self confidence. It's true, people to flock toward those who are percieved as weak and torment them. Animals do it with sick members of their pack, and people are no different. Be strong. Be tough. If nothing else can help you, then think of all of the people in your life who do care about you. They'd be hurt if they knew some of these things, don't you think?

Let's see...next year I hit the legal voting age around here--18--, and I'll graduate high school and go to college full time. I'll also be on my second year at college by that time, so I intend on getting everything straight so I know what degree I'll be working on. I also plan on getting something down on my computer in it's complete form. I have a lot of half formed story ideas running through my head on a consistant basis, but I haven't had much time lately to take care of them. Come next week I'll be able to continue, but I need a lot of time to complete something. I also hope to come to terms with my issues in the head so I can continue on with a dear friend of mine who is hinting that he want's a romantic relationiship. You know who you are, so I won't name any names, even though he does hand out in the Arena a lot around here. Of course, with high school so soon to being over, I'll need something to do. And a huge paradigm shift. It will be interesting, to say the least, but I'm up for the challenge.

Here's a little scenario that happens quite frequently in different forms: I'm a seventeen year old going on twenty-one, apparently. That is reflected by the amount of times I am asked if I am part of my parents' order of a pitcher of beer. My little brother is ten, and rather small for his age. He's also a lot less street wise than some other ten year olds I've met in my life. My little brother can be a pest, and one day he convinced me to allow him to join me in walking my dog to the local park. We had gotten a new neighbor at the time--a nice man with a kid around my brother's age. The two kids had played together before, and he just wanted to introduce himself. "I see you around the neighborhood a lot," He said politely, "And I felt that I should introduce myself." He went on to introduce himself and saying that his child got along so well with my child... That's when it happened. "Excuse me," I interrupeted him in the middle of his sentence, "I'm not his mom; I'm his sister." "Oh! I'm so sorry! It's just that you look older than that!" "Yeah. Well, I'm seventeen, and it's unfortunate that I get that a lot." I smiled politely at the man, trying to hide my laughter, and went on to drag both brother and dog down the street to the park.

Name: Khiana Lee--known as 'Key' Age: 22 Time and Circumstances of Death: February 23, 3228. She was killed by customer at her place of work who happened to like both her drinks and her tunes. The name he was going by at the time was Damien Delacroix, her death lead to the conviction and imprisonment of this serial rapist and murderer. Appearance: Key She stands at about 5'4" and weighs 113 Lbs. Race: Angel Bio: Key led a well adjusted life; she graduated from High School with honors, but decided to forego the college route and go on to work in a little bar called The Dog Star. She was a barkeep there, but would occassionally step on to the stage and wow the crowd with her skill on the Saxophone. She was born and raised in the city of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and had a large family with many cousins. They all know her as Khiana, but respected the fact that she chose to go under a pseudonym as she played her sax and later became a barkeep at Dog Star. She was a smart, somewhat snarky young woman who tends to give everyone a bizzare pet name--she frequently refers to people as 'The Kitten', 'The Fox', or even 'The Pup'. Weapon: Key chooses to use a Hasta--a six foot long spear with a shaft made of ash and a head made of iron,a type that is typically used as a non-projectile weapon versus other types of spears. Magic: Water

Actually, I wouldn't mind having Millie Thompson and Nicholas D. Wolfwood as my parents. It would make for interesting times, that's for sure. A mother who is about as ditzy as I am--and has a passion for pudding. A father who has a motorcycle, a great sense of humor, and that Cross Punisher...life could get really wild. Besides, they both seem to be good with kids, and Wolfwood might make a surprisingly good dad.

My best friend....hm. Well, I haven't spoken with either of them for a while now because of distance, the two of them having boyfriends, and the fact that we're all swamped with school work. Yes, I have two. Is that a problem? The one is a girl named Brittany. We met in the third grade, and she was my first best friend. Around that time I had just transferred to that school from elsewhere, and I wasn't sure how long I'd be there. Wnen I was a kid I went to a lot of different schools--three in my first grade year. I really forget how we met, but I think it was at recess and a classmate of mine introduced me to her. We hit it off immediately, and her influence hasn't quite left me. The other one is named Kat. she's a year younger than me, and we used to live in the same neighborhood. I remember the time I met her very well, because she chased away the neighborhood bullies for me. When she was a kid she was always the type who wasn't afraid to beat up the boys. She's a tough cookie, and has since taken up Hapkido (A Korean style of Martial Arts) and has advanced quite a bit within the past couple of years. Gee, I miss these two now. I think I'll e-mail them.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Stark replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Pardon my bluntness, but how are they going to watch Inuyasha if they can't find it on before 2:00 AM? Besides, [adult swim] has made it a habit to place their comedies on during the ACTN line up, thus possibly causing some people to not want to bother with it and go to bed. That's what I do. If they switched the Boondocks with Inuyasha, then I'd stay up to watch Ghost in the Shelll the 2nd Gig, and Evangelion. Beyond that, have you ever noticed that [adult swim] sticks with series that have around 26 episodes. Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist are the exceptions, and the end of FMA is in sight. No one knows when Inuyasha will end. Again, pardon my bluntness, but have you ever considered that some of the viewers may be getting bored with Inuyasha? It's been on for...*counts on fingers* about three years now, with no end in sight. Maybe the series is near its end as well. Sometimes that happens. There is a long lapse between manga volumes coming out, and they don't know what to do with the anime. Thus, they take liberties and diverge from the manga, thus reaching a different end at a different rate. Maybe, just maybe, that's what's happening with Inuyasha. Pardon my rant. If I stepped on any toes, it was unintentional. -
I'd have to say that Skateboarding is harder. Since I was a kid I was always on Roller Skates and Roller Blades, and Figure Skating is similar on a fundamental level. I haven't done it much, but when I have I'm pretty decent at it. Besides, I grew up where it got pretty cold in the winter. I think I can handle the ice rink fairly well. I've tried Skate Boarding, to no avail. I can't figure out how to use that thing for the life of me, and I admire my classmates who can use it. Oh. MistressRoxie? Anything Pittsburg is the bomb.

I wouldn't mind living in one of the Gundam universes either--particularly the Cosmic Era or even the Universal Century. Talk about mass warfare with giant robots. That'd be a dream come true for me. Or Cowboy Bebop. That way I'd really fulfill my dreams of being a futuristic bounty hunter and carry around a nice gun. When it comes to living in a fantasy-ish world in anime, I'd have to say Saiyuki. Youkai AND Guns? You don't see that often. Plus, all of the hot men... :animenose Either that or the world in Vampire Hunter D; gotta love the big weapons and the elegant clothing. I really wouldn't mind living in an Anime Style universe--then my random episodes of mock violence would be more accepted, and it would be perfectly normal to pull a big paper fan out of nowhere and start whacking people with it. The sweat drop would be nice too, and my Jewish teacher wouldn't make fun of me for saying 'oi' as an exclamation as frequently as I do.

Name's Stark. That's all you really need to know right now. I'm a 17 year old female who lives in the Tampa Bay area in Florida, though I was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania (Yes, that is where the chocolate is made). I'm a short red head with light blue eyes and fair skin, so I constantly worry about getting burned down here. I have a younger brother whom I live with, and two half sisters (One older, one younger) who I don't contact much anymore. I may only be seventeen, but I'm taking college classes along side of my regular courses. So, if I seem swamped at times, that's the reason. I graduate in May, however. So, it won't be too much longer until I'm a full time college student!

I've never seen the Japanese version of Naruto, but I can easily say that the dubbing is better that most of what you see on Toonami. Kakashi in particular, I can't see how they could have done better. I've also read through Vol. 6 of the manga, and I can say that the anime follows the manga closely (from what I've seen so far) and that the scenes are almost perfectly transferred from manga format to an animated style. As for the editing--wasn't Naruto intended to be seen (by the American people) by the older children and younger teenagers? And, seeing as how nearly everything in the media is either too bloody to be scene or not violent at all, they tried to compromise. No moving blood--understandable. No swearing--given the time slot, understandable. Some dialogue editing--I don't think any ten year old wants to hear Sasuke say 'you make me sick' to Sakura, so they changed it to 'you're annoying'. Given the circumstances, mildly irritating. I just hope they don't edit Sasuke's condition after his fight the Haku.

There's a lot of things that could be changed about myself. Too many to be counted, in fact. But, at this point in time, I've come to recognize my flaws and accept them for what they are. On to the question. If I could change one thing, I'd change the way I handle unfamiliar situations. There are moments when I'm literally stuck in Limbo in what to do, and it's not a comfortable place to be. I'd like to know where I'm going and what I'm going to do when disaster strikes, instead of freezing and allowing someone else to take over. I don't like it. I really don't. And I would gove anything to change it.

Anime what is the first anime you watch? how does it impact on you?
Stark replied to domyoji's topic in Otaku Central
Anyone remember when Gundam Wing was showing on Cartoon Network? I do. That's what made me start watching anime. The first manga that I read, however, was Card Captor Sakura, partially because I was watching the dubbed version on the WB at the time. The first anime I decided to collect is also Gundam Wing. I missed a lot of episodes during it's TV run, and only now do I have to cash to by a DVD every now and again. So, I decided to collect this one. Conversely, the first manga I've decided to collect is Saiyuki, followed closely by Gundam SEED. Tokyo Babylon...I may get to finishing that one some time. I have the first 3 volumes, so I'm sorta lacking in that department. -

Whoa, whoa--no introductionary scene? No little tidbit on what's supposed to happen? We all wind up in the Village Hidden in the Leaves in some magical mist and a big whooshing sound? I know I'm not the best RPer around here, but I sometimes like to know what's going on. Are we following a similar plot as Kingdom Hearts? Or, is it similar with merely the keyblade and the jumping from world to world? Or, perhaps we'll end up like the world jumping in Tsubasa...? What are we protecting the world against, anyway? Sorry, but even video games have a little tidbit about the plot on the back cover. -
I am the resident cleaning girl!! :catgirl: It's really not as bad as it sounds. Yes, I do need to clean toilets of strangers (rich strangers who leave their lacey undergarments all over the closet :animesigh ), but the pay is better than at any other place i could have gotten a job at. $10 an hour. Straight into my pocket, with no income tax. Plus, I'm working with fun people, and I love feeding the rich lady's cats. Besides, on a good weekend I can earn about $120. Not bad, I think.

Name: Cheska Delgado Age: 21 Weapon: Daggers that she uses as projectile weapons, a little Alchemy, and small explosives that she makes on her own. Race: Human Personality: Cheska is the calm, quiet sort who is more observant than is necessary. She is the scholarly sort, and loves to solve riddles and puzzels when she gets the chance. Her emotional reactions seem rather off at times, but she is, overall, a sweet person who only wants to see those she cares about be happy. Appearance: Cheska Cheska is a slender young woman who stands around 5'4", with deep eyes and long black hair that she keeps braided or in a ponytail. She dresses in loose clothes so that she can stow away her daggers and explosives with greater ease, so that no one catches onto what she carries on her person. Biography: When she was 14 Cheska learned the basics of the Alchemic art from her father, the reason being that one day she may need that knowledge more than anything on earth. Whether her father genuinely knew anything of the future, Cheska would never know--he was killed not too long later by a group of renegade demons while she was in town buying precious supplies. When she returned to her home she searched through the carnage, searching for those articles that were of the utmost importance to her father. He was a researcher as well as an Alchemist, and had been studying various uses for Alchemy as a curative measure, not as a creator of various weapons that caused death and destruction. The papers were left as untouched, but her father's copy of The Alchemist-Adept Codex had disappeared. While the book was useful for learners, her father had used it for jotting down notes on everything he deemed worthy enough to study. Cheska knew that her father was an Alchemist, and that he genuinely wanted to help people, but she had a sneaking suspicion that he was doing more than he said he was. She set off in search for the book, as there was no doubt in her mind that the volume contained information that could prove disasterous if it landed in the wrong hands.

"What is up with this thing?" Ross demanded as she hid behind a counter, reloading her gun. It's weight in her hand was comforting, but that was all; the Eater could do anything, and even the bullets she was supplied weren't doing crap. She stood up again and fired at the creature once more, all the while knowing that her attempts were fruitless. "Beats me," Scott called as he slashed at the Eater, narrowly dodging it's claws in the close quarters that was the kitchen. Still, all attacks at it were useless against it's tough hide. There was a glimmer of an idea at the back of her head. The creature couldn't be completely solid, could it? She whipped out her other gun--she hated only working with one, and fired at it with both pistols as the idea made itself known. The creature had a specific way of moving, even if it was an atrocity. It fought like a wild beast, like a bear or a wolf, except she realized something she hadn't noticed before. Most animals use their teeth when fighting, and snarl a hell of a lot in the process. She had yet to see the teeth of this thing, and that was enough for her. She climbed onto the counter, intentionally rattling the kitchenware as she did so. She smiled as the creature turned to face her, and consciously kept her hands steady as she aimed for the creature's smoldering red eyes. "What are you doing?" Scott demanded. "You may want to step back," Ross warned, "This thing might flail like crazy in a little bit." With that said she fired both of her guns silmultaneously, and leapt off the counter as she heard the creature howl in pain.

I live...nowhere near any of you. Then again, if I say 'Tampa bay area, Florida' I'm sure some people will understand. It sucks, really. I live in Florida, where it never snows and rarely gets cold, but it's not too great for me. You see, I'm a red head, and I have fair skin. I burn easily, dangit, and no amount of sunscreen can save me from the sun's burning UV rays.

I'm a fan of peace, but I try to think realistically. In a time of peace the higher ups are bound to get bored, and therefore start a war just for the sake of it. To prevent needless conflicts from happening...well...either stay in the conflicts that need taken care of or eliminate all conflicts. True peace is impossible. It's a wishful dream, and the world would be lovely if it could happen, but I realize that true peace cannot be achieved though any realistic means. There are always going to be conflicts and wars, because people don't want to sit down and talk. There are always going to be uprisings and rebellions, so I try to pay attention to what is real rather than a dream.

(This has been sitting here for a while now, so I figured that I'd give it a shot. Hope that the sign ups are still open! Oh, and be glad that I didn't choose Canti.) Name: Genjyo Sanzo Age: 23 Gender: Male Abilities: Sanzo is one of the highest priests in all of Buddhism. As such, he posesses one of the Tenchi Kaigen sutras--the Maten Sutra, to be exact--and is talented in Buddhist magic and martial arts. Aside from these, he also posesses a Smith & Wesson M 10, his weapon of choice, and a large paper fan for idiots. Appearance:Sanzo Sanzo stands at around 5'10", is very slender, and normally dresses in the robes that go with his title. He is often noted for his good looks, to the point of being called feminine at times, and for his drooping violet eyes. Biography: (Not necessary, but I want to) Sanzo's quest is simple; he searches for the Seiten Sutra that is also a part of his title as Sanzo, one of the two Tenchi Kaigen sutras he was to inherite. It was taken on the very day he recieved his title--and the day his father figure, Koumyo Sanzo, was killed. Aside from this, he's a very wordly, at times brutal, and egoistic individual who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty when necessary. He smokes, drinks, and gambles, an image that is quite at odds with his status. In spite of all this, however, he has a deeper, philosophical side that occasionally comes out. -
what kind of animal/demon would you want to be
Stark replied to lone wolf rider's topic in General Discussion
It would be a kitsune for me. I have a weakness for fox boys, and Kurama really pushed me over the edge with it. Besides, who doesn't want a bunch of fluffy tails and be able to transform into other shapes? -
It's a tie between FMA and Samurai Champloo for me, currently. I'll always love Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and FLCL, but they're not on all the time. I can live with these two. I did like s-CRY-ed, but I was upset when they pushed it back an hour or so. It's on too late for me to catch now! :animecry: But that is definently up there on my list. I'll just have to get my hands on the DVDs because I've missed too much to catch up on now.

Adrenaline surged through her system as she caught a glimpse of the Eaters, and she found herself grasping her gun with both hands as the impending fight dawned on her. It was dark out, but she could make out the forms of the creatures in the moonlight, and pushed all misgivings aside as they drew near. Even while this was happening, she had seen the reason for Scott's trance-like fit. It seemed rather inocuous to her, pleading to her consciousness to be questioned. She pushed those thoughts aside as well, with the silent vow to consider it later. "On your cue," She said, glancing over her shoulder at Scott. She was surprised to find that they had gotten close, but blamed it on her subconscious. It was never good to let a comrade go without help, she knew. She probably made good on that thought without thinking. "Gotcha." Scott sounded tense, but that was understandable. Ross held her gun up, her hand steady in spite of the chemicals jumping from nerve to nerve at lightning speed. She adjusted her aim so that her shot would hit the Eater nearest her between the eyes. "Any tips?" "Yeah," Ross glanced up again, and saw Scott grin. "Don't let them get near you." "Gotcha." A moment of tense silence passed, and Ross took a deep breath. "Now!" Scott shouted. Any misgiving that may have been left was gone in an instant as her finger squeezed the trigger and she began shooting the creatures that were an abomination on this earth.

Graduation...I'm not to worried. It just means that I'll be getting out of the public education system and into an atmosphere where people actually want to learn. I graduate on May 18 next year, not too far away. Only...even though I try not to have any regrets, I do have a few; Never going to Home Coming, Never finding a few girls I can go to the mall with, Never been on a real date, and never finding a boyfriend. I think that last one was ammended recently, but I'm not sure. I personally think I'll have an edge over my classmates when we graduate because I, technically, am already in college. It's a program the schools in my county have with the local community college that allows the student to take college classes for credit both at the college and toward their graduation from high school. From this experience, I can only say one thing: Don't be afraid of college. There is my spiel. I'll stop before i get carried away.

No one's mentioned the Caster Gun yet? So sad... Anyway, I'd probably be a bounty huntery a la Cowboy Bebop, and I would, of course, use a gun. My name, if I could be someone else, would be Aubrey Hughes, and I wouldn't be afraid to use my feminine wiles to help me catch the bounty heads! Raya, I second you on the paper fan, but it's not my first choice. If I could have any weapon at all from an anime, it would be the Caster Gun.
