Pardon the assumption, but you're Catholic, aren't you? O_o I'm sorry, but Catholic principles kind of frighten me. My friend used to go to a catholic school and some guy came in to talk to them. He gave her a list of "evil" bands. Among the list were bands like AC/DC... Her response to the list: "Kurt Cobain is not 'evil'! He IS GOD!" :animeangr Anyway... anything that provides joy in life is "sin" to the Catholic church. Pride is a sin. Lust (masturbation, or just having a pyshical crush on someone, etc.) is a sin. Fiction is a sin. I don't mean to offend because I know that not all Catholics follow these ridiculous principles... but... it's just frustrating. And yes, I'm not surprised that a 'Christian' principle is "OMG that japanese animation is screwing with your head!" I think that's where so many kids these days get the idea that anime is stupid and that they must make fun of otaku for expressing even remote interest in it. (My friends are sometimes even told, "OMG u need to liek stopp watchin them japnes cartoonz they messin wit yo head makin u turn lessbo...") I think I'm getting carried away with this... better quit while I'm ahead. :animesmil I'll just say, I have enough problems with the Christian faith without having to listen to "STOP THAT'S EVIL" or "THAT IS A SIN GET ON YOUR KNEES AND REPENT" for anything enjoyable that you do. Oh, and please, no one get offended. I'm really not trying to offend anyone.

^You might want to brush up on your spelling and grammar... it will grate on the members' nerves pretty quickly. And I happen to think that while Britney Spears has let herself go from her earlier (I mean WAY earlier) days, Kelly Clarkson is a brilliant singer who deserves some credit. The girl writes her own material and has a beautiful voice. (She's hot, too ^.~) Let's see... "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent is #1 on my list of annoying songs. Not only does it sound exactly like a previous song of his, "The Magic Stick", but then all the little 4th graders hear it and run around singing, "I'll take you to the candy shop, I'll let you lick the lollipop, oh no girl don't you stop, you go until you hit the spot--WHOA!" :animeangr The don't even have an idea about what they're REALLY singing about. Then there's "Lonely" by A-kon. I hate the song. It's extremely obnoxious. I mean, the opening is a little chipmunk-y voice singing "lonely, I'm so lonely... etc." Ugh. I loathe the song, and my friends and I make fun of it all the time. I'll add more if I think of anything else.

Good grief, that was an awesome show. Invader Zim is probably the only American animation that I would seriously watch (minus Family Guy and Futurama) and I can't believe it got canceled. I wonder why it did get canceled anyway... O_o EDIT: I stand corrected; perhaps it was, indeed, originally a Japanese animation. I'm not sure if somebody in this thread already mentioned this, but lots of sources tell me that Invader Zim was inspired by that anime we all (most of us) know and love: FLCL / Fooly Cooly. Or maybe it was the other way around... but yes, I'm pretty sure that IZ was inspired by FLCL. I find it quite exciting that my favorite American cartoon was bred from one of my favorite anime. ^_^' I've no idea why such a show would be canceled, I mean nothing that I can remember was that offensive, even for the children's channel Nickelodeon... but maybe I could find DVD's of it somewhere. ♪ [Insert "The Doom Song" Here] ♪

Question: what is "BL"? ^^; And, thanks for your opinion on things as well. They're dually noted.

I love this band! O_O They're pretty much my current favorite. After I got their most recent CD, "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge", I could listen to the CD for 4+ weeks without changing it out for any other CD, without getting tired of it. The melodies are perfect, in my opinion, and the lyrics are beautiful. (Personal favorites from the album: "Thank You for the Venom", "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison", "To the End", "Helena", and "It's Not a Fashion Statement, it's a Deathwish." *) I was bummed that Green Day beat them in the "Rock Video" category this year at the VMA's. No offense to Green Day fans, because I like Green Day alright and all... but the concept, choreography, the make-up, and just the SONG itself, was so beautiful and haunting. Then we have "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", the same lines over and over, with the guys of Green Day walking around, acting all mopey and singing about how lonely they are. (I thought MCR had that one in the bag. -_-) Oh, and I'm not going to comment about MCR's image. I'm not one to say that someone 'needs to go for a unique look' or the like, you know? I think their music is quite unique, but I still know a great deal of people who disagree with me... the way I see it, either you hate them or you love them. *Problem with MCR tracks: the titles are extremely long.

^ I disagree, personally. I mean, I really can't think of what much else could have been added. I think six episodes summed the anime up quite fine. (But if you just mean that you wished the series wasn't over because you loved it so much... ain't that what we think of all anime? ^.^) FLCL's probably one of my favorite anime. Everything about it was ingenious... the music, the animation, the characters (hilarious), the plot... all very original and interesting. I love it. Lots of people abandon this anime right off the bat because they watch the first episode or two and say, "WTH, I don't get it" and give up on it. It's just one of those anime that isn't supposed to make sense. I mean, if the other million viewers of FLCL don't understand the series, then chances are, neither will you. But like I said, one of my favorites.

Slight thread revival... You can probably guess this from my avatar, but I am a yaoi-FREAK. A yaoi-holic... yaoi is my sun, my moon, my sky, my--yes, I layed the craze on a little heavy there. Let's just say, it's my drug, and it's my anti-drug. Only actual shounen-ai series I've seen was Gravitation. The manga was absolutely brilliant, if you're into continuous angst and drama (which I am). I was extremely satisfied with the ending, and thank the lord that Murakami's technique improved as time went on. ^_^; (The anime of Gravitation was 100% attrocious, in my opinion. Won't even go into that.) I also want to see Fake, Only the Ring Finger Knows, La Esperanca, Beyond my Touch, Eerie Queerie, and Yami no Matsuei. (Unfortunately I'm not made of money whatsoever.)
