I don't know if I'd say that the media "rallied" against Clinton, but there's also no question that the media in general have artificially elevated Obama's campaign.
Haha, yeah. Pre-primary season, though, Hillary Clinton was the presumed winner before the contentious atmosphere between her campaign and Obama's solidified. The spotlight always shifts.
I'm not entirely sure why everyone thinks that Obama inherently represents change. Is it simply because he's black? Or because he is considered to be a political outsider?
For the campaign? A good slogan. For me, as a supporter? I don't know what other supporters think of his aim to bring "change", but I supported Obama starting from last November due to his anti-lobbyist standpoint. I have viewed lobbyists in Washington, both liberal and conservative, very negatively. I hope, though he is a politician with aims for power, that he will, to some level, make efforts to curtail lobbying in Washington. Additionally, a somewhat bipartisan president would be very refreshing for a few years.
Apparently so. I heard about the reference, but only briefly, so I assumed it wasn't that big of a deal. And since she said nothing about Obama being assassinated, I just assumed it was the media having a field day by twisting her words. And I guess I was right.
It was a big deal, lol. If Obama had said something like that, I would have been utterly flabbergasted by his big mouth. RFK's assassination is not something you bring up so casually when referencing the "unknown" aspect of the primary season, especially when there has been speculation regarding the potential assassination of Obama throughout this primary season due to his race, candor, and the specter of the other Kennedy's death as anyone who is young, a good orator, and so capable of gathering supporters seems to draw the comparison inevitably.
Anyway, If she doesn't stay in the race, I think it would be in Obama's best interest to take her as V.P. Think about it: For the past six months, these two have been breathing down each others necks. They have practically divided the party down the middle. (Even though Hillary claims she's winning in popular vote, statistics that were posted on CNN.com suggest that she only barely winning. Think of it 51% to 49%) That means half of the democratic party has been rallying for one of these two as their future president for six months... And with the way that both of them have been talking about the democratic party uniting when the final decision is made, it seems that the best way for Obama to do that would be to take Clinton as a V.P. But that's all speculation anyway. I still hope she stays in it.
Hillary Clinton lost. She should not go on until Denver. She should have exited earlier in this race, her loss is inevitable for the past few weeks. No one screwed her over. The media did not rally against her. Florida and Michigan were LEGALLY PUNISHED through the rules of the DNC a long, long time before it was some kind of antidemocratic "issue" like Clinton supporters paint it to be. Clinton herself, before breaking an unwritten agreement between herself, Edwards, and Obama not to campaign there, supported the punishment. Voters have chosen who they want to be the Democratic candidate for president. Clinton should NOT be vice president. She has done nothing to "earn" the slot by fighting fruitlessly and giving the Republicans ammunition against him. Obama has campaigned for change and the Clintons have little to do with change. If Clinton supporters are so naive and simpleminded that they will vote for John McCain in November, then they deserve the repercussions of their shortsightedness as McCain does four more years of Bush-esque policy. The Democrats will heal much better if Hillary Clinton takes some basic actions of support towards Obama instead of suggesting continually that the outcome can shift dramatically given several more months of her dragging it out.

Eh, I eat dead cows, pigs, chickens, and fish. Few bugs can't hurt. My girlfriend hates all these wonderful things that she thinks are gross: Okra (not even in jambalaya), Shellfish (including CRAWDAD :(), and Mushrooms (!). Man, fried okra is the ****. Add a few crickets and I am sure it is that much better!
-
Do you have a link to that quote? I'm not saying she didn't say it, but since it seems that I'm the only Clinton supporter, I would just like to see for myself.
Are you oblivious to your own candidate? lol. She brought up RFK a couple of weeks ago to widespread question marks. Thank God this primary season is waning. Hopefully Obama does the right thing, denies her a V.P. slot, and marches straight on to November.

Cultural Cuisine Preferences?
DeathKnight replied to The Spectacular Professor's topic in General Discussion
Gyros are the ****, but the most delicious food I have ever had is Indian food. San Antonio has this awesome first generation Indian buffet called India Palace that is my favorite place in town to eat. Aside from that, tex-mex is a staple around here - none of that awful Taco Bell stuff either. Caldo, chile relleno, enchiladas verdes, mmm. Man, that makes me hungry. -
Having a record of how you acted when you were thirteen is pretty ******. Similar to 'breko I'm turning twenty this year so some things have changed. For instance, now I have a deep, sexy voice that was absent back in those days. :smooch:

Mousetrap ?Romeo y Julieta, eh? Not too bad.? I stand outside a large iron door with my associate. He adjusts his suit before he reaching into an inner pocket for a lighter. He lights my cigar and I enjoy the fine taste of tobacco. ?Wonderful. Thank you very much, Victor.? ?This guy in here, this.. individual, where'd you pick him up?? Victor asks me while lighting his own cigar. ?He's a detective. He asked some questions that arose the suspicions of some people on my payroll. Fed him a false lead. Lambs to slaughter, you know?? I grin. ?He woke up around an hour ago and I suppose I have to talk to him.? ?What did you do to him?? Victor arches his eyebrow at me, oozing with curiosity. I chuckle and look down at the cigar. ?You know I do not like to go into details, Victor.? - The room is dark, barring one harsh light upon my prisoner. ?Detective Albert Richtoff.? I look at the handcuffed, tied-down figure in the chair who has a long black hood over his head. ?You were very cooperative earlier in the day and gave us a great deal of information regarding your investigation. Your nails should grow back eventually and the wounds across your body will heal, however, I suppose you've noticed, but you have lost your tongue sometime in the last five hours.? I smile at the detective's muffled exclamations. ?Yes, I know, we failed to mention that to you as you divulged all you could to us regarding the police's interest our organization's activities. I am very sorry that you were the one to come stumbling into the lion's den, but, unfortunately, times are very harsh, as you know ? the economy is sour, illicit activities are rife throughout the city, and only the rich still have the means to play more than work. They need my product, you understand? The people I sell end up as servants, mistresses, or whatever my clientèle want. Pre-teens, teens, adults ? all categories are available at the proper price.? I pause and rub my chin, watching the figure of the detective. I approach him and pat him on the shoulder which makes him jump. ?You were a problem. I solved that problem. Now you won't be asking many questions, hm?? He is sobbing now; he is alone and scared in a pitch black reality with only my soft voice lilting into his ear. ?Well Mr. Richtoff, that's all I wanted to you, really. A mere update on your situation, you know?? I turn and grip the door handle before a let out a soft 'ah!?. I turn back to the detective. ?Mr. Richtoff, amongst the many things you write down during the police investigation into this incident, do remind the department that some elements in Otaku City have the means to do a great deal more than illicit business if pushed so far.? I put out my cigar and nod to the detective. ?That's all. Good night, Mr. Richtoff. You'll find yourself in much friendlier hands by morning.? I exit the room and, as I close the door, I hear his muffled sobs behind me. A tall, dark gentleman greets me as I walk down the hallway. I nod to him and gesture back to the metal door. ?Drop him off. Give him back his personal items.? The gentleman nods at me and starts to walk by, but I grab his shoulder. ?Oh, one more thing.? I reach into my suit pocket and take out a small rectangular box held together by a yellow ribbon. ?This is a gift for him.? ~ I jog down the white corridors, past a nurses station, and towards the navy blue uniform I see down the hall. The police officer looks up at me and nods. ?John.? I shake his hand and look into the hospital room. ?Fuck, I can't believe it.? ?Yeah. He was picked up about an hour ago in front of the women's shelter.? Albert Richtoff, best man at my wedding, drinking buddy, and good friend is laying on a hospital bed in the room. I stare at his sleeping figure and shake my head. ?How bad is it? What did they do to him?? John shook his head. ?Too much. Tore out his toe nails and thumb nails. Chunks of his flesh are gouged out. Numerous bruises.? He rubbed his forehead. ?They cut off his fucking tongue.? A look of horror flashes over my face. ?What? Are you serious?? ?Yeah. Yeah, his tongue is gone. It was clean though, I mean, it was like they did surgery on it. Closed up the wound and everything.? He swallows hard. ?Fuck, David, they fucking cut his tongue off and that isn't even the worst part of it.? I stare at John. ?When they picked him up, he was holding a little box, wrapped like a present or something.? He looks at me straight in the eye. ?Pieces, just pieces. Pieces of it.? ?Of what? Pieces of what?? ?His tongue, David.? My mouth goes agape. ?Jesus fucking Christ.? - I sip my orange juice and look up as my butler enters the room. ?Sir, I thought you would like to see this.? He sets down the newspaper and I smile at the headline ? POLICEMAN TORTURED, ASSAILANTS AT LARGE. ?All the city is talking about Mr. Richtoff, but do you know what the funniest part of that is?? ?Sir?? ?He can't talk back.?

Careful guys. If he's played Torment he can argue you out of existence. FF7 was a positive experience for me as a kid and, having replayed it recently, now. I have played the full list of Final Fantasy games released in America, barring 10-2, and have to say that it is among the cream of the crop of the franchise. However, I don't feel much towards the idea of a remake. It was a complete experience, for me, on the PlayStation 1. Final Fantasy 7 would not be the same with the Cloud I watched in Advent Children and Crisis Core, or any of the other characters as they appear in the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7. That's not part of the nostalgia for me - certainly it is pretty neat to watch, but I am not sure I'd enjoy seeing the Compilation-Cid cussing at a similar looking Shera or watching Barret stare down Dyne in the same way. A remake would probably be alright, but my mind already reflects well on FF7. Nothing can really boost it up - I had a great time experiencing Final Fantasy 7 with its characters, setting, and story, but I do not feel any positive emotions watching Square Enix build on to it. The rest of the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7 does not do anything for me and most of it seems mediocre or tacky at best.

What would you say is the common issue we have in the U.S.?
DeathKnight replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
Haha, of course the fact that the United States holds the greatest nuclear arsenal technologically and has limited defense measures against nuclear weapons falls by the wayside - everyone else is dangerous as ****! If only we were in another war, that'd help our domestic and international situation out greatly! The United States greatest problem is the fact that its methodology of approaching and fixing problems is purposefully careful, slow, and somewhat democratic. The bureaucracy that bloats out each level you go up (municipal, state, national) is unfathomable. The dim response to Katrina (especially when compared to the effort the PRC is making in wake of the Sichuan earthquake) is a good example of bureaucracy in motion, especially when placed under poor leadership. The kicker for that is that, well, trimming bureaucracy or streamlining the decision making or leadership process in the United States could possibly be best served by curtailing aspects that are democratic. That is not an ideal most Americans would outwardly support and I would imagine most are content with believing that switching out the dominant party at local, state, and national levels of governance is somehow an ideal solution. -
If someone was born on the 30th of february
Then they would be using a different calendar than the one we use since February goes from 28 > 29 in a leap year, but is normally limited to 28 days. My name is Kenneth. I live in San Antonio, Texas and go to St Mary's University. I major in English and hold aspirations to be a published novelists. With that, however, I have a more realistic view that I need to make money in my postgraduate years barring rapid and wonderful success so I also plan to make money doing some form of journalistic work. I have been here for seven years, having joined as an overactive thirteen year old, and do not see myself disappearing anytime soon. I enjoy politics and currently support Barack Obama having voted for him twice in the Texas Two-Step. I support the Democrats as they are the the most agreeable to me, but I am actually a socialist. I would support a Socialist Party but most have little realistic chance to do much and the foremost of America's socialist parties, the Socialist Party USA, holds some rather dim views regarding the death penalty and national defense. From this awkward position I find myself supporting the Democrats as being the most agreeable to my sense between them and the idiotic, fumbling Republicans that dominate my state's legislature and political culture outside of the intelligentsia of the cities. I like to read and write. I have been obsessing over H.P. Lovecraft as of late and now am the proud owner of three compilations of his short stories and novellas. The last non-Lovecraft story I completed was Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk which was excellent and worth a read for those interested in his work beyond Fight Club. Poe, Hawthorne, and Gaiman are all good authors as well. I'm not religious. I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed their company until I was around fourteen or fifteen. I am now an agnostic. I flirt with being antireligious but, as long as it is not too hypocritical or annoying, I do not confront people regarding their beliefs. America's moralistic culture, however, can shove it as it is nothing but a bunch of fear mongering and censorship wrapped in a thin veil of religion. I play games. I do CoD4 on Live every couple of days, but right now I am kind of feeling out what I want to beat next having cleared CoD4's Single Player pretty quickly. Recent favorites have been Persona 3 (PS2), Darwinia (PC), Penny Arcade Adventures: On the blablabla of bla (PC), Grand Theft Auto IV (360), Tsukihime (PC), and Shadows of the Colossus (PS2). My top three would be 1. Ever 17: The Out of Infinity (probably the most engrossing narrative I have ever engaged in), 2. Grim Fandango, and 3. the Civilization Series. I love to listen to music. I listen to anything. My current obsessions are two distinctly different groups. The first is Capsule, a shibuya-kei group out of Japan who has a ton of songs that I love to listen to. ****, as I write this I am listening to 5ive Star by them. The second is a band that I have adored since I heard them five or six years ago - PIG DESTROYER. I bought their first album, with its cover of a guy sawing people into pieces, when I was around fourteen and never gave them up. That's about it. Anyone ever hop to S.A., we'll smoke some hookah together.* ;) * unless you are a fan of the Lakers in which case we will never be BFFs.

Does anyone believe in love at first sight???
DeathKnight replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
But couldn't one argue that this is only semantics? Curious interest / curiosity being another way of saying "falling in love at first sight?" (btw, did you see the short film "Struck?" It didn't win, but I really liked it...)
Certainly could be semantics, but in no way did I immediately feel the way I do now about my girlfriend, you know? -

DeathKnight replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
If it happens to others, it happens to others. I don't think it is any kind of threat to myself if either cynics trample the idea of love at first sight or idealists laud the concept. I don't really find much drive to associate with either option. I fell into curious interest at first sight with my current girlfriend of going-on-two-years. We both worked at Wendy's and she was cute and, through conversation, intelligent so I asked her out and things went along as they did to a point of continued happiness and romance. Follow your curiosity, the ones that make you curious are the ones that you might find yourself wanting to explore more and more. -

Capsule and Mint Royale are my electronica of choice right now. Capsule - shibuya-kei outfit from Japan who have produced a great amount of material that is excellent in substance, style, and quality. Some of their **** smacks of Daft Punk, especially their later stuff, but it remains pretty atypical because of its shibuya-kei genre. Sugarless Girl 5iVE STAR Haha, people remix them excellently too - here's some Daft PunkxCapsulexBeastie Boys that is a pretty awesome match up between Ch-Check it Out and Starry Sky with a bit of Technologic thrown in. Mint Royale - Straight out of England, Mint Royale has a bit of a bigger following mainly because of their remix of Singing in the Rain that has popped up on a few advertisements, television shows, and YouTube stuff. They have produced a great deal of audio greatness as well and have released a compilation album of 10 years of material entitled "Pop is..." that is both orgasmic and hard to find in the United States. Also worth a listen and a watch is Blue Song.

I already have voted for Barack Obama twice (Texas two-step) and will vote for him in November. The Republican Party, with John McCain, do not offer any sort of benefitive plan for an America that is experiencing a profound downturn in our status both domestically and internationally. America does not need hawkish, aggressive foreign policy positions when, because of that mindset, thousands of lives, billions of dollars, and opportunities have been lost in Iraq and, increasingly, in Afghanistan. The Republican Party has NOT executed, by any means, any sort of a strengthening of America in the world stage or increase our nations security by their policies. How much have we spent in Iraq and the War on Terror? How is does that tie into the Republican Party's dribble about "cutting government spending"? Do ill-advised Wars fall into that? I guess not! America does not need the hypocritical "family values" ******** of the Republican Party. Jesus Christ did not accumulate wealth, Jesus Christ did not support warfare, Jesus Christ did not forget the poor and forsaken of Israel, Jesus Christ did not preach of ostracizing and punishing, through human means, individuals who did not listen to his teachings. None of that has anything in the least to do with Christianity, but rather with the bastardized, warped form of religion that the delusional majority of Americas follow. America does not need Republican naivety over health care or social security. America does not need another Republican round of deficit increases due to their idiotic dedication to tax cuts while continually assuring a gullible Republican voter base that, oh, trust me, we'll cut some spending here and everything will be alright. Barack Obama is a politician, has problems with Reverend Wright in the popular media, and is an imperfect man - but ideologically the Democratic Party does not have its head as far up its *** as the Republican Party does.

I picked up Fes, but I have about a month to go before I do the dirty deed against the
Nyx Avatar
. I want to crawl through the last bit of the game before I restart the original game on Fes, and then do Fes' extra story. By the way, Yuko is a terrible girl to date. She is available only on two days of the week and events/school holidays always seem to take up one or both of those days. I spent half the game getting her social link up, lol.

I've worked at pretty laid back places on the night shift so people PDAing and goofing off only mattered to me when rushes hit. What really bugs me is when, out of three workers on a shift, the other two guys go and smoke marijuana with four or five hours left for them to be **** out of their mind, haha. I think, in a blanket way, relationships at the workplace should be regulated simply because too many awkward and negative situations can arise, especially outside of the services industry and in the corporate world.

Here Raiha, as you requested over AIM, lol, an item from me. Famed Interpol operative Gavin is sent with a team comprised of Chaos, Indifference, and Retribution to investigate a possible human trafficking ring within Eastern Europe. The camp, hidden in the dense, remote forests of Belarus, is actually the site for a New Age religious movement dedicated to the worship of the Beast, Raiha, a darkly red, lupine creature with a single horn in the center of her head who is seated upon an altar in the center of the camp locked in a deep sleep. Dozens of pens are spread throughout the camp, all of them holding young women. DeathKnight, leader of the cult, is nonchalant as he shows the team around. He says that they are for The Awakening, which is due that evening during the new moon. The Awakening will shake the beast from her slumber and she shall begin her domination of the world with a feast of humans in her honor. Perturbed by the strange creature and the illegal activities going on, Gavin manages to send word to headquarters about the situation but he and his team are captured by the cultists as additional sacrifices, even if "the men shall make a meager offering" for the Beast. Night falls and Gavin's report has apparently struck a deep fear inside one of his superiors, as, far outside normal operating procedures, a mixed contingent arrives containing Belorussian troops and Russian SPETNAZ operatives. The cultists hunker down as a siege develops that is more of a slow slaughter of ill-trained cultists and hostages trapped in their cages in the middle of the firefight. Gavin and his team are secured by the advancing Belorussians and Russians as the cultists form a perimeter around the the altar upon which the Beast still slumbers. Desperate, DeathKnight seizes his daughter, MistressRoxie, and kills her before the beast recanting aloud the ritualistic prayer to awaken the beast. Under the starry sky, where no moon can be found, the Beast does awaken, right as the troops break through the perimeter and swarm towards the handful of cultists directly next to the altar. She looks down upon the scene around her with disgust. Her reign begins by feasting upon a shocked DeathKnight, the body of MistressRoxie, and the remaining, terrified cultists. Her reign continues by laying waste to the camp with fire and vile spells as the Belorussian and Russian troops desperately withdraw with heavy casualties, Gavin and his team with them. A confused convoy of military trucks races from the area as the firestorm behind them shines as a beacon to the beginning of a new era.
