1.
I still have to get the third one... I got the second one a couple of months ago. I didn't get the first one, since I know everything that happens in it. Can any one tell me in which one does[SPOILER']Hughs die? Thats the one I want. Its so sad...I cried watching the anime of it.

That happens in volume 4. I know what happens up to chapter 53, still, I have the manga up to volume 4, since I believe it is worth purchasing. Viz's translation is quite accurate.
That part is sad indeed, I cried as well. The following is quoting straight from Viz's release of the manga in the United States: "Mama, why do they have to bury papa? Why are you guys burying my papa? No... No... If they do that, papa won't be able to go to work anymore... Papa said he had lotsa work to do! No. Please don't burry him... PAPA...!!"
By the way, a few posts ago, I mentioned about the edit and somebody (I am too lazy to check for names now) pointed out that the japanese release had the box as well, I checked on the MSN group and they have the box there as well. I have an scanlation somewhere that does not show the box, if I find it, am I allowed to post it?
 2. I will assume, by your description, you are using Windows XP (next time, please include your windows version). IF YOU ARE NOT USING WINDOWS XP, USE OPTIONS 2, 4, 5. First, you need to prevent your computer from shutting down while you are doing this operations, open a Command Prompt window
Start >> Run >> cmd
In the command prompt type (but do not execute!):
shutdown -a
If you see your computer is going to shutdown, switch task to the command prompt and execute the command. First, make sure your computer has all the latest security patches installed. To search for new security updates, point your browser to: http://update.microsoft.com/. NOTE that the online update system will only work in Internet Explorer, as it requires embedded ActiveX controls. In case your computer is properly updated or the problem was not solved: Option 1: Use System Restore:
Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore
and restore your computer to a day earlier than the problem started. Remember to install the latest security patches after this. Option 2: Update your antivirus software, reboot your computer in safe mode, and run a virus scan. If you do not have an antivirus software, get one. Option 3: Uninstall any skinning engines you have in windows. Reboot your computer in safe mode, locate the file winlogon.exe and delete it. This file will be automatically created by windows. Option 4: Call your computer's manufacturer tech support. Most likely, you will need to provide them with your computer's registration number. Have the model of your computer and full OS version handy at the moment. Option 5: Backup your data and reinstall Windows.
 3. Man that was great.
Hikari no Hoenheim seems to be pulling the strings in this homunculi business, but why would he create Wrath that way... and what did he mean "Will you be the one who accepts my wrath" does this means that my theory about him extracting the sins from his soul and implanting them into the homunculi are true?
4.
You?re saying that because that?s when you think the next chapter is coming out, right? Because that?s what I thought too, but the site that I get the manga from has a counter that says chapter 53 won?t be out until Friday. ?maybe that?s just when they think they?ll have it translated by?
True, that is why I said it. The manga is supposed to come out in Japan tomorow (Nov 12), so I think they will have the raws uploaded by monday... hopefully. In any case
I have a hunch Pride is somebody we have heard from before, maybe the Crymson Alchemist? He had a pannel for himself in Volume 4, but has not been heard of since then. Then again, that is just speculation...
5. I am proud to say I own all volumes of FMA released by VIZ in USA. However, I have to say there is an edit in volume 1 which I did not like one bit (pg 89 pannel 2, there is a black/grey box added).
Well, now, what is your opinion in this Hikari no Hoenheime fellow... Yes, there is an uncanny resamblance from the man in that basement to Ed and Al's father. There is this chapter when he refers to Greed "My son from which I share my soul...", do you think he extracted the Seven Sins from his soul? And Ed's father warned Pinako about something terrible that would happen. I can't wait till monday.
In the future, please remember to use spoiler tags when talking about important plot elements that others who want to read the series may not yet have come across, thanks. ^^ -Lady K
 6. Here are some jokes I have heard/read. You might need to have some technical knowledge of other subjects to understand them. If you have problems understanding them, let me know and I will explain them. =================== What is the shortest mathematical joke? Let epsilon be less than zero. =================== The composer Robert Schumann wrote at the beginning of one of his compositions: "To be played as fast as possible." A few measures later he wrote: "Faster." =================== An efficiency consultant gave his critique of Schubert's Unfinished Symphony: 1. All 12 violins played the same notes. This is unnecessary duplication, thus their number should be cut. 2. For a considerable period oboe players had nothing to do. Their number should be reduced and their work spread evenly among other staff. 3. No useful purpose is served by repeating with horns the passage that was already handled by the strings. If such redundancies were eliminated, the concert could be cut 20 minutes. 4. The symphony has two movements. Mr. Schubert should have been able to achieve his musical goals in one. Conclusion: If Mr. Schubert had paid attention to these matters, he would have had time to finish the symphony. ================== How they prove that all odd integers higher than 2 are prime? Mathematician: 3 is a prime, 5 is a prime, 7 is a prime, and by induction - every odd integer higher than 2 is a prime. Computer Software Salesperson: 3 is prime, 5 is prime, 7 is prime, 9 will be prime in the next release,... Statistician: Let's try several randomly chosen numbers: 17 is a prime, 23 is a prime, 11 is a prime... Professor: 3 is prime, 5 is prime, 7 is prime, and the rest are left as an exercise for the student. Computational linguist: 3 is an odd prime, 5 is an odd prime, 7 is an odd prime, 9 is a very odd prime,... Psychologist: 3 is a prime, 5 is a prime, 7 is a prime, 9 is a prime but tries to suppress it,...
 7. My username is fairly simple to pronounce. MangaFan007 Manga Fan (as a word) zero zero seven. It is actually a pun to a very famous character. Let us see if somebody gets it. Here is a clue: Cheers!
 8. Thanks for your comments, suggestions and for sharing your decks as well. Too bad the new ban list made the deck I posted illegal, so I will have to modify it. To Nomura: -There is a deck similar to yours called "Soul Control." They say is one of the strongest decks in the game and it won the Shonen Jump championship I do not remember when. It uses a card called "Soul Exchange" which enables you to tribute one of your opponent monsters instead of your own as long as you skip your battle phase the turn you do it. The deck then uses Zaborg the Thunder Monarch (lvl 6, 2400 atk, 1200 def) , a monster with the effect that once it is tribute-summoned can destroy a monster on the opponent's side of the field, making a good combo with Soul Exchange. To Angel: -Nice control deck you have in there, heavy on traps, just the way I like them ;). The issue with Dancing Fairy is that is not searchable, so I did not add it, but hopefully, your monsters will be well protected with all the Sakuretsu Armors, Gravity Binds and Level Limit - Area B. Yes, I am well aware of Bad Reaction To Simochi, I have a deck based around that card. Maybe I will post it later :D. Now, here is another deck for you to try: ============= Main Deck ============= Monsters ========= Thunder Dragon (x3) Shining Angel (x3) Hoshiningen (x3) X-Head Cannon (x3) Y-Dragon Head (x3) Z-Metal Tank (x3) Airknight Parshath (x2) -------------- Total: 20 Spell Cards ============ Frontline Base (x3) Fusion Gate (x3) Terraforming (x2) Nobleman of Crossout (x1) Mystical Space Typhoon (x1) ----------------- Total: 10 Trap Cards ============ Sakuretsu Armor (x3) Formation of Union (x3) Dust Tornado (x1) Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell (x1) Call of the Haunted (x1) Ring of Destruction (x1) ----------------- Total: 10 ----------------- Grand Total: 40 ============= Fusion Deck ============= Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (x3) XY-Dragon Cannon (x3) XYZ-Dragon Cannon (x3) XZ-Tank Cannon (x3) YZ-Tank Cannon (x3) ----------------- Total: 15 The strategy is simple. Use Shining Angel to get Hoshiningen or the Y,Z machines on the field as needed. This will help with deck thining as well. Once you have the X,Y,Z on the field, fuse them (remember you do not need Fusion Gate for this). Discard Thunder Dragon to fish the other two out of your deck. This will help you get Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon out on the field and thin your deck as well. Hoshiningen will power up all monsters (they are all light). Airkight will help with deck thining as well. Frontline Base will help you with swarming. Terraforming will make it easier to get Fusion Gate out. Use your traps wisely to defend yourself and your monsters. Note: This deck is extremely deadly when properly used. I have beaten people in two (2) turns using this deck. Be warned: they might hate you forever after that.
 9.
Even though i dont think there is a point to life, I am no slacker, I go out work hard in school and I am am active in my interest, but i just dont think there is a point to life. That makes me apathetic some what to somethings, but I am no lazy asss.
My good sir (or madame) you remind me of Voltaire's Candid, a book I read once every year to evaluate myself and how I have changed. Cela est bien dit, répondit Candide, maïs il faut cultiver nôtre jardin (all that is well said, Candid replied, but we still need to cultivate our garden)
 10. By analysing the composition of a human being, it can be seen that the common elements found in the Earth's litosphere are in our bodies as well. There is an expression that says "from earth we come and to earth we shall return," in that sense, this expression is very true. We humans are just a machine that needs survival. That is what all animals are designed to do: born, eat, reproduce, die. That is what life is all about. This is then what I think of life: Life is nothing useful. Why should there be such thing as DNA and RNA? Why should there exist a living being, a moving complex of organic chemical reactions and electric impulses? I see no point on being born, eating and reproducing just then to die, as if we never existed. For this not to be true, then there has to be a Higher Presence on this world, a presence that manipulates it all. Then I must live for this Presence. If there is no such presence, I might as well be dead, for there is no point in living at all. Also, this is why I called humans foolish a while back. Why do we bother in trying to know the answers to what we do not know? Here, I am sitting in front of my computer, writing a bunch of symbols that we interpret as text messages, while other species are either resting, trying to rest, trying not to be eaten, or being eaten, but not thinking about this issues. That is why I called us humans fools. But in any case, if it were not for God, existance will be useless.
 11.
Belive me I have tried to study alchemy. And I would have continued if #1 I could get the ores I would need like mercury and things like that. #2 I would still be trying to do the kind in Full Metel Alchemist but that involves magic (I know better than to mess with magic not because of religous reasons but for my safety since im inexpirenced I fear if I mess up a single detail I could end up dead) but I do find it very interesting and feel if you want to study it or practice it go ahead no one has the right to stop you.
Then [somebody] do the following for me one day: -Pick an element, sample it, and chemically test the properties it has. -Alchemise one sample into another element -Sample this new element and test its properties chemically to prove that it is indeed another element Once you [somebody] have done that, videotaped it, and release over a public domain, I will believe that alchemy is doable, that Faustus was taken by the devil and that modern science is all a big hoax that people invest millions in investigating new materials to replace the rare/expensive ones when it all can be done using alchemy. One more thing: I agree with Brazil: This thread should have died long ago.
 12. Well, since we are sharing our memories, here is mine. I have fallen in love twice in my lifetime. The first time I was not brave enough to tell to the girl I liked. This was when I was 8 years old. Until I left my country of birth, leaving this girl behind, I never told her the truth: She was my best friend in that place. Now, 12 years later I still have not told her, it is pointless now. We are very far from each other, and I do not think I feel the same way. After I left my country, I decided not to love again, only to break that promise and fall in love with a girl who reminded me of my friend. This time, I threw my cowardice away, and with 5 origami tulips I told her the truth. One letter per tulip, one tulip per day, all spelling "Te amo" (Spanish for I love you, Spanish is my first language). For some reason I decided to go out with her the night of November the 23 of 2002. This night she accepted my feelings for her and I was happy. We saw in school each other every day, and it was during the time when we had to decide which university we wanted to go to. We realised that the only chanse of being together was if we went to the University of Florida, so we both applied there (the only reason I applied to UF was because of her). With all modesty I dare say that I had no problems getting into any university I wanted to, I was top 7 of my class, had excellent exam scores, and a bunch of college credits already. The fact is that we both got accepted into UF and I was happy. Nevertheles, my hapiness was not to last, for I was in a relationship that only lasted 6 months. Never I disrespected her, never I treated her wrong, never I asked her to do anything for me, never I kissed her either, she never asked me for a kiss. Yet, she broke up with me. She told me at the time their parents would not let her. But I knew that was just a lie, her younger sister had a disrespecting boyfriend, and their parents approved. Long I wondered why, and then one day, I think by accident, she told me that I was nothing but one dissapointment after the other one. I was told that before an exam, she used the exam as an excuse to run away not telling me a reason why I was branded in such way. After, I asked, only to get denial from her as if she had never said that. This is what I think then: If I am one dissapointment after the other one, then it will be pointless for me to engage in a relationship again. After all, I am dissapointing, and let us face it, never has a dissapointment has been good. It is then, pointless for me to try. So I conclude: Love cannot be described with tulips, because tulips are frail. Love is better described with a rose. A rose might be beautiful, but roses have thorns that can wound, and wounds are painful. Love hurts. I did wrong on breaking the promise I did when I came to this country: I should have never loved again, and I will never love again either.
 13.
I gotta love the effort, but someone here is trying to sound intelligent. Unfortunately, anyone reasonably trained in even basic chemistry and physics have to smile at your parenthetical claim. The theory of relativity has almost nothing to do with nuclear chemistry; or thermonuclear reactions for that matter. The theory of relativity, specifically "special relativity" (In reference to the published works of Einstein in 1905) deals with the postulate that the speed of light is constant in a vacuum to every observer. This also carries with it, the idea that the Laws of Physics are the same for all observers. Quantum physics also has pretty much nothing to do with the claim "The power of a nuclear reaction is indeed in your fingertips". Quantum physics refers to electrochemistry and the movement of electrons. It also has a great deal to do with energy diagrams and energy potential of various atoms. This information is usually quantitative based upon wave mechanics and photochemistry because of the nature of wavelengths and light. I?m being incredibly brief on both theories, and leaving out several key bits of information. However, I?m trying to generalize these in order to reveal how grossly MangaFan007 misunderstands actual science.
I probably should not do this, however here goes my rebutal: -The theory of relativity (specifically, special relativity) dictates the total amount of energy contained by matter. I am sure you are familiar with the formula E=mc^2. This is how much energy you can actually obtain from any mass. -Radiation is nothing more than a beam of charged particles (except gamma radiation). Just like you said, quantum mechanics deals with the behavior of charged particles in a potential. If you are to control then a beam of particles, you must then need quantum mechanics to predict (or better yet, estimate) the effect of a magnetic/electric field in contolled radiation. -The expression "is at your fingertips" is a metaphor meaning it can be done by any human who has enough knowledge of the subject. Misunderstanding is the reason I do not write much, every time I use my style to write something, nothing comes out of it but confusion. If you want me to, I can keep on rambling about Schrödinger's Equation and the effects of gravitational fields in radiation (general releativity), but it will be a waste of both our time and it will also be unpleasant for the others. I will admit though, that my expression was very generic, and thus it might have caused confusion. In any case, cheers, MF007
 14.
Foolish humans? And what are you, some god? But that's not the point. All that nuclear bomb stuff was done in a lab. Knowing alchemy is like being a walking nuclear reaction. It's having the power of a nuclear reaction at your fingertips.
私 は 人間 です。 ( わたし は にんげん です。 ) I am human, and as a human, I possess the foolishness of the specie. The power of a nuclear reaction is indeed in your fingertips (check the theory of relativity and quantum physics for this).
 15. I do not even know why I wasted my time reading this thread. Foolish humans: YOU have dabbled into the science of transforming one element into another one before. Mere examples of this are the atomic bombs that were launched in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or that nuclar reactor that gives us power. It is called nuclear physics, humans, and radiation is your Phylosopher's Stone. If you wish to transform any element into another one you just need to change the number of protons in its nucleus. You do not need any magic, you just need a controlled nuclear reaction.
