....I guess not that many people are as interested in Silent Hill as I thought. I'm sure that more people here have an opinion upon this matter, but I guess they spend more of their time in the Otaku Lounge, and I guess this thread was not as idea-sparking as originally intended. Well, I hope that some more people will express their opinion sometime. I shall continue to wait. Anyway, here are some thoughts on the movie: I was thinking they could use that atmospheric feel from the first game. That feeling was left out of all the following sequels. It's hard to explain, but I hope others know what I'm talking about. More ideas to come.
That IS about genetic mutation, not demons and the ilk. Pay attention next time, please.
I did, and it was you who did not pay attention to how my phrase was worded. Please notice that I stated the "unlike the movie" at the end which clearly described the comparison between the game's "heck" on mars and the genetic mutations of the movie. I dislike it when a person responds without reading carefully.

As I previously stated, I had low expectations for the movie, and now that I have seen it I can say it met them. You know what? I'm sorry, but it did not meet even those miniscule expectations I had set out for it. That movie was a complete atrocity and I regret having spent those 1 1/2 hours and $4.50 on that movie. I mean, the whole reason I went to see it was the fact that I wanted to see the first-person-shooter view incorporated into a decent movie, however, the acting was bad, there were only 5 minutes of FPS view, and it didn't even try to follow the game's story line. The problem was not a genetic mutation, but it was literally "heck" on mars, unlike the movie. Those who watch this are truly "Doomed" to waste hours of their life and money far beyond the worth of this movie.

I've been waiting for someone in Konami to release a movie about Silent Hill that sums up all games so far. However, now that I've seen FFVII: Advent Children I think Konami should use the same style if they were to release Silent Hill as a movie. Just think about it for a moment. It would indeed make for possibly the greatest horror movie to date (in my opinion), doesn't anyone agree?

I'm going to watch Doom this weekend, so I thought I might post on this. I wasn't too amused about the concept at first, but after seeing the screenshots of the first-person-shooter view I thought it was an interesting idea and finally decided to go watch it. Anyhow, on the subject of horror game movies and the like: I have wanted to see a Silent Hill movie for some time now, and after watching FFVII: Advent Children I think Konami should try and utilize the same method to make the movie. That would make an awesome movie, doesn't anyone agree?

If only I could find a regular girl that likes me, then I would be happy. Continuing this discussion. I would have to say that I agree with those out there that say that "perfection" is not what they want. I want to find a girl out there who will at least give me a chance, I mean, just because I am slightly a nerd doesn't mean you should stereotype me. A girl that doesn't go for the "athelete" with a muscular build, but rather sees people for who they are. I want to meet a girl who can kick someone's butt, so to speak, but would rather help people out. A kind heart, and a virtuous one at that, would be ideal.

That night- Signals were coming in from every direction indicating a fallback of various mechs from every gang, and even the Devils began retreating. However, Felix stayed behind to locate his fellow Devil comrade, as he still received no reply from the comm line. "Do you suppose the SAF caught up with him?" Thanatos asked. "Not likely." Felix replied. "He was personally chosen by me as second in command. If they did, I trust he has helped ease their suffering." Four mech signals become clear on the scanner. "These SAF bastards keep wiping their feet off on my ground..." Felix stated, "...they don't deserve to continue walking on my ground." "Looks like our search will have to wait." Thanatos said. Just then, a fifth mech becomes visible. "Hmm. This mech appears to have an anti-matter particle cannon. This will be interesting." Thanatos says to Felix. The four grunt mechs open fire with their energy chain guns. As soon as they find their shots deflected, they switch over to their armor-piercing rounds. Felix thrusts into the air with his antigravity boosters. He then takes aim with his shoulder-mounted chain gun as he reaches the peak of his jump. With the moonlight looming over his enemies he easily took down three with his ion rounds. Then, the fourth soldier fires a round which grazes Felix's scanner. As Felix comes down, he drives his energy spear through the mech and into the ground. Then he grabs the mech from both sides, and tears it in two. The explosion lights the surrounding area, yet the fifth mech is nowhere to be seen. Just then, Felix's scanner recovers and picks up a distant signal. He looks towards the origin, and in the distance he could see a bright light starting to form, a light which could rival the sun. "He could level your territory with that shot." Thanatos stated. "Damn. He's going to open fire!....AAARRGGHH!!!" Felix activates Outbreak mode. He then rockets off towards the mech. Activating his shield, he armed and fired several ion-charged rounds, but found his shots deflected by an anti-matter shield. "DAMN YOU!!" He then charged his spear to max output, maxed out his boosters, and charged at full speed towards the mech. "YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT IN TIME! FELIX!!!!" Thanatos shouted at him. Felix replies,"THIS IS MY HOME, AND NOTHING WILL THREATEN IT!!!" The sky is lit in an overpowering flash of radiance. The cannon fired into the sky as Felix stood there with his energy spear flaring through the back of the mech. The shot dies off in a ghostly brilliance, and the mech collapses. Felix then tore open the cockpit, only to find nothing more than an empty control board and a shorted-out AI interface. "What is this?" Felix asks. "That appears to be their next move," Thanatos replied. "How about finding your comrade?" "Let's go."

I honestly believe that due to the fact that the human race is overpopulating the earth that nature has sent feedback in the form of genetic variations and mutations of viruses and diseases in order to control the "problem." I know that this may sound absurd to many of you, but I really do think this is a possibility.
I watch Furi Kuri with my mates and we loved the whole soundtrack and we found out it was a japanese band called the pilliows! I advise everyone to listen to them especially Crazy sunshine and ride on shooting star :D
Ah, yes, The Pillows. They are seemingly my favorite band, and I don't really know why. It's something about their style that's just so much better than the bands here in the U.S. For me, they place me in a FLCL state of mind, where everything about the world seems fine. I wonder if anyone else out there is like that.

In regards to Attimus331's statements over my grades earlier: Sorry, I forgot to clarify. By grades slipping, I meant from an A+ down to a B, and in worst cases a C+. Anyways, although I have made a decision on how to live my life, I am still interested in hearing your theory on why we're here and what you think our purpose might be. Please keep posting, everyone, and thanks for everything.

I myself am a catholic. However, I'm not one of those catholics who is overly enthusiastic about worship. I just don't see how praying is going to do me any good. I mean if god has a "plan" set out for someone (as many of you out there still play into it) then obviously praying is not going to save you from an oncoming train if god says, "It's your time." Also, as I stated before on my thread "Existence Theories," I hate the thought of anyone or anything, be it a divine being or not, creating me just to use in their grand scheme.( I shall also state this: any christians out there who feel like criticizing my views, you can just bite me. I am my own being. I love others out of my own soul, not anything acting through it.) I also find that I don't like the way that it's foretold that the human race will eventually die out. I find that I like this phisical "realm," if you please, and I believe anything and anyone can be saved. I have helped out others in my life, and I find it soothing to know that I helped ease another's burden. I see how many of you could hate me for my beliefs, but I care for others more than myself, and I hate to see someone suffer due to something that was "meant to be." Defiance is my thing.
Im not trying to get too religious here, but I belive that God has a great plan for everyone. Think about it if you live a bad life but still remain faithful to christ after you die every day will be great.
I understand where you're coming from, however, that exact statement is what I receive from everyone that is even partially religious. I shall state this: I hate the concept of being someone's pawn, regardless of whether they are a divine being or not. If I help someone, I want it to be from my own soul, not someone else acting through it. This way I have proof that I am my own being and that I have control over my fate. As for Attimus331's opening statement: It's kind of hard to work towards anything when you know it'll all be for naught in the end. (However, good point.)
When you know God is there for you, as a saviour and friend, rather than some despotic overlord out to ruin your life, life seems just that much brighter.
I thank you for your concern, after all, I am catholic. However, I still do not like the concept of someone over you deciding when it is "your time." I like to think that I am living for myself and those I care about, not for someone else's plans against an evil that he allows to exist (assuming that you read some parts of the Bible). I am starting to form a possible purpose for myself. Please keep the theories coming.
-
...why am I here? Is there some purpose to my existence? Is there a purpose to anything in the universe? Why was it created? I am not sure of anything anymore. Before, when I didn't know any of this, I had such a peaceful life. In 6th grade I was the top student in my cluster, but now my grades are slipping, I have no goals, and it's all because I found no point to my life. Sure, to ensure the survival of the species. Yeah, right. The human race will die out soon enough due to its own actions (i.e. overpopulation, exhausting resources, pollution, nuclear weapons, etc.). I also hate to think of my life as part of someone's recruiting plan (i.e. holy war - to those who are religious out there). Plus, I keep thinking of new theories although in the end I find some flaw. (Now you see the meaning of my title.) Could someone out there please give me some theories? (Also, do not assume that I am an unstable, suicidal person. Because I am not. I still enjoy life.)

Here we go. 1) Uncontrolled procreation - I understand that some people do it for love, however, those who do it for the heck of it just keep leaving behind more and more helpless children to suffer.(Plus, I know this is a bit cold, but we truly are overpopulating at too fast a rate, and one solution would be to...God, I hate saying this.....cut down the human population worldwide by 2/3, then control that 1/3 to let the earth heal. This way the human race will last longer and hopefully, although not likely, worldwide suffering will ease. 2) When people fear things, such as insects, spiders, reptiles, etc., and just kill them. Just because you don't like things doesn't mean you have kill them. Live with them, try to understand them. I mean, I don't really like cats or dogs, but I don't kill them when their friggin' owners let them out to bombard my lawn with feces. Which brings up the next one. 3) I really do not like having to clean up after other people's pets. I have about three or four neighbors which have dogs and cats. Now, these people don't want their pets messing up their yards, so they just let them out to roam all over my yard....at times, I feel like bringing out my bow, and just waste one of those demonic crap machines. All they ever do is come over to my yard and crap, then they search out lizards, snakes, frogs, and just eat them. 4) I hate people who are indecisive. (That includes myself to some degree.) Seriously, people who can't set their minds to something and just do it are truly bothersome. There are people out there who just can't decide on anything, mainly because they are unsure of themselves or the situation. We, as humans, learn from our mistakes and thus improve ourselves as an individual and as a whole. 5) I hate dial-up modems. I have one myself, and I have one because my family is in a financial bind, and we can't afford one of those other internet services because of their ridiculous reasons for raising their prices. Dial-up is the reason I can't enjoy internet music sites, or video sites. Dial-up, however, is the reason I can post this. 6) I hate not remembering what else I hate. Stay posted for more to come.

Okay. If you all truly think "creepy crawlers" are scary, then I have a nightmare newsflash for you all. I'm sure someone here has heard of mites, yes? They are small arthropods related to spiders and ticks. They are tiny little creatures of which many are dwarfed by a pinhead. If no one here is "freaked out" yet, listen to this. There are several species of mites worldwide, and they inhabit mostly any form of habitat. There is a species of mite that is used in cheeses to give it some "flavor," there are species of mites that even inhabit the lungs of some animals. Yes, the lungs of animals. There are mites that live at the roots of human eyelashes. They are everywhere, many microscopic, and if you are freaked out by spiders and insects, I suggest you start living in a bubble, because mites could be anywhere.

That evening- "...elix...zzztt..r...zzzt..ca...tion.." "There's something jamming your ally's signal," Thanatos said to Felix. Felix remained silent. Out of nowhere, three SAF mechs deactivate their active camoflauge. "These soldiers seem to be a couple notches above the rest," stated Thanatos,"I believe the SAF is becoming impatient." "More souls in need of judgement," said Felix quietly. "I shall end your suffering." The three mechs immediately fire their automatic energy rifles. The ground around Felix is pulverized and he fades into the dust. "Did we get him?" "Not sure." "Hey, you, go over there and check." "Why me?" "Because you're the noob. Now GO." One of the mechs walks over to the smoldering city block. He checks the area with his scanner, but finds no trace of Felix. He looks back to signal the others that nothing's there, but he sees no one. "Hey, you there? Come in. You guys there?" "AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!" The soldier turns to the side. There he sees one of his fellow soldiers on the cold asphalt with a scorched gash through the cockpit. He then hears the sound of an energy rifle being discharged repeatedly. He follows the sound to find his other comrade but a smoldering pile of scrap melded to the ground. Then his scanner picks up movement behind him. He turns and immediately fires his rifle to find his shot deflected by an energy shield. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!!" the soldier screamed. The soldier flared up his leg boosters and started to flee. Felix took aim and fired an armor-piercing, ion-charged round through the mech's leg. The soldier crashed into the ground. As the mech turned itself over, it could hear Felix's mech coming towards him, and quickly turned over and tried to fire a round. Felix grabbed the mech's arm, smashed his foot into the mech's torso, and tore the arm off. There, as the soldier lay there looking up, he could see a bright light growing above him. "Is this light...heaven?" the soldier coarsely whispered. "No." Felix drove his energy spear into the cockpit. "The enemy seems to be upgrading their forces." Thanatos stated, "I have never seen those types of mechs before, or those beam rifles." "You think your companion is doing well?" "Let's go see, shall we?" Felix responds. The dark mech fades into the black veil of night.

Back in Devil Territory.... "Why should I listen to you?" Thanatos questioned, "You think a lowly human such as yourself can just use me for your own bebefit...." "There's someone behind us," Felix stated quietly. "It's a sniper," Thanatos replied. The SAF sniper let out two armor-piercing rounds. He looked back at his target, yet no one stood at the tips of his crosshairs.... The head of an energy spear thrust out through the mech's torso. Felix raised the impaled sniper off the ground with the energy spear, and as the pilot of the SAF sniper looked towards the pitch-black mech, Felix raised his mech's left hand to face the sniper's cockpit. "May you find comfort in hell." Felix fired an armor-piercing round right through the mech. Then, silence. "Yet, you and I have much in common," Thanatos says to Felix. Then, the black mech faded into the city.
I love praying mantis's! They're so cute, they actually have normal eyes rather than those horrible compound eyes. I don't mind the way they cling at all, I'm personally more creeped out the the light touch of smallers bugs, that feels way more icky. At least you kow this bug wont get smushed if you hold it.
Actually, the praying mantis has three simple eyes on its forehead and two compound eyes (the ones you thought were normal) on the sides of the head. Anyways, I find it amusing how people are "freaked out" by arthropods. (If you haven't guessed yet, although I'm only 16, I have quite an interest in entomology). I don't really find any arthropod disturbing at all. I have let tarantulas crawl on my head, I have let various insects crawl on my face, and I go out at night with a net, flashlight, and capture container to find various spiders and insects. By the time I get back inside, I usually have more creatures crawling on me than I have in my capture container.

Have you ever wondered what role you play in the world? Have you ever wondered if everything was pre-destined? I have, and I sometimes fear that if this is true, then all I have worked for in the world makes no difference in the outcome. I truly fear and hate the thought of a life already set out for you, where everything you do went "according to plan." Because of this, I start to wonder, "Do I really have control over my own destiny? Or is this all part of someone's big chess game?" I hate to think about it, but it always crosses my mind every once in a while. I must continue to seek the meaning of life, so that I may someday have my answer, and finally rest.

Due to the fact that I have gone all around the country, and even into Mexico and Canada, I must say that I have a pretty good idea of how seasons are in all regions in the US. Persoally, I find something serene about winter (when I lived up in NY). I mean, do you know how it feels to be going through a white forest? Where there is nothing but stillness (and the occasional giant clump of snow that falls on you), making you feel as if you were in a whole other dimension, where any dream could come true... Then there, as you walk up on a hill and look back towards the forest, you see a ghostly forest of white and gray, stretching off into eternity... But now, here I am in Victoria, TX, and the weather couldn't be worse. Which brings up my most loathed season: summer. The intolerable, merciless, and murderous heat. It is unbearable, and I even had the 'opportunity' to feel the wrath of summer when my air conditioner broke. I had to live through a whole two weeks of temperatures exceeding 97 degrees (not including humidity!) when I still had not gotten used to the weather in TX! Not to mention that there is NO SNOW during winter. The most there is in winter is rain and mud. In NY, the summers hardly ever exceeded 85 degrees with no humidity. Now I must live in constant suffering, cooped up in my house nearly all year long. I miss those white dreams.....
