Why the HELL does that mouse breathe fire?!! Same problem.. haven't had a chance to see the show. Yet... waiting for payday and lack of things to pay for first.

Wolfwood: Huh.. kinda looks like a squirrel... Vash: Are you kidding? It's too big... maybe a racoon or something. Too bad you squished it with your motorcycle, or else we'd be able to tell. Maryl: Um... guys? I don't think that was an animal... May: I think it was a baby... All: Eeeeewww....

Hey, Ol' Buddy Ol' Pal 1. Ginji Amano Getbackers : With the frequent power outages at my place, who wouldn't find it useful to have someone around who can generate electricity? 2. Nene Bubblegum Crisis 2040 : Besides being a good hacker and rather entertaining, she's also quite cute, especially with her "Nene-grams" :catgirl: 3. Akabane Getbackers : Just to watch Ginji squirm would make it worth putting up with a really creepy guy Here's your cardboard box. Get out. 1. Threadmaster Kazuki Getbackers : The guy looks like a friggin' chick! I would be making fun of him all the time, thus getting my a** kicked all the time! 2. Naruto Naruto : Everyone else from his cell, I could live with. Him, I would have to kill, especially since he loves his ramen just a little too much. 3. Zell Dincht Final Fantasy 8 : I know it's not an anime, but I have two words to describe why I can't live with him. LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. :animeangr

Well, I can definitely tell you that it is not Tekkeman. I have the series on DVD and none of what you posted matches up to any of the episodes that I have seen. I haven't had a chance to see Gatchaman or Eagle Riders, so it is a distinct possibility that it's either of those. Of course, it could be something completely different.

Nami: I told you guys that botox would freeze your faces like that, but did you listen?! NO! Other Guys: (unintelligible speech due to frozen features)

I wish I could claim to be the object of the swarm of fangirls desires, but sadly, I wouldn't make a good enough sephiroth... or cloud... or anyone else that they pretty much salivate over.

Bands You Love That None Of Your Friends Have Heard Of
Shaholl replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
Eh.. If you like funny music, anyone here could try The Gothsicles . They make some interesting songs, like the one about the Contra Code, or Devastator from Transformers. One word of warning: their lead singer, Brian, sings like the squeaky voiced teenager from the Simpsons. Good music-wise, I know of a band called Apocolyptica . They're known for performing Metallica's greatest hits. The only strange thing about them is that they don't have any electric instruments. They are a string quartet and a drummer. They play so well, that most of the time, I'm unable to tell that what I'm hearing is a violin or a standup bass instead of an electric guitar. -
Man, when I discovered Megatokyo, I grew addicted to it immediately. It just kept on getting better and better. Best of all, when I went to Acen '06, I got to meet Gallagher and co. They were signing pictures and selling merchandise. I didn't manage to get an autograph, but I did get a Miho blanket and a Ph33r the cute ones poster.

I picked Karas up at the Walmart that I work at (mostly because we were out of FF7: Advent Children) and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The story was a little vague (why the 'ell is he
in a coma
and what's with the
multiple Yurine's
?), but the action and the animation were both top notch. All in all, it was a pretty good anime.
I added spoiler tags to your post. Make sure to use them when talking about plot elements that are revealed throughout the story. -r2
Just wondering if anyone on the boards are planning on going to Anime Central 2007 this upcomin May. So far, I've been to 2 Acen's, but this year is the year to be there, since it is their tenth year running. It's gonna be one massive party!! It would be pretty kewl if I could meet up with some of the people who post on the otakuboards, maybe get a group picture or something. :catgirl:

Let me put this as lightly as possible, Dart. I've been to multiple anime conventions, and seen plenty of people who don't look a thing like the character they are cosplaying as. *shuddering at the memory of MORBIDLY OBESE Chi from Chobits* As long as the costume is good enough, people will recognize it and say nothing about whether or not you look enough like Kenshin. Trust me. Just don't try to go to any extremes, like plastic surgery or something :D

You guys are going to think I am completely insane, but I still play Pong. Not the new one with better graphics for the computer, just straight up Pong. I get slightly addicted to it and play for hours on end. That and the original Tetris Just to prove my nerdliness, I taught myself how to play the Tetris theme-song on the piano... I have no life, do I?

I know this girl who I swear looks exactly like Witch Hunter Robin. She even puts here hair up like Robins sometimes. Now if only she would get and wear the outfit, it would be perfect. Oh, she also likes to set things on fire sometimes.

Ack! Found another good one. Now, I'm not usually one for the serious animes, but I picked up the box set of Gunslinger Girl on a whim, and I have to say, it is great! Little girls that are cyborg assassins is a pretty great start, but make the story a sad one, where the girls are still just girls, even if they are cyborgs, just holds my attention so well. Also, Henrietta scared me a little when she first loses control in the first episode :animecry:

Yeah, I think everyone would mistake Integra as a guy. One of my buds has a real problem with the fact that she is "Sir" Integra Wingates Helsing. He yelled about the fact that if she were honored, it wouldn't be "Sir" Integra, but "Lady" Integra. :animeswea

I'm going to have to go with obesepanda. Kuroudo Akabane aka "Dr. Jackel" from Getbackers is a total B.A. The guy lives to kill! He has a total disregard for human life. Heck, he determines how much fun he has on a job from how good of a fight he can get in. And that whole thing with the scalpels?? Jeez. I don't like scalpels.. They remind me of doctors, which remind me of hypodermic needles, which reminds me of Saw 2, which makes me shudder... (I don't like needles....) :animecry:

I guess, because I'm a speed reader (GO! Speed Reader! Go, Speed Reader! Go, Speed Reader, GO!!), I have no problem with subbed. Also, there are some things in japanese that just can't be expressed properly in english, or might even be mistranslated, like the reason for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Oh, and if you don't know what I mean about the bombings, just send me a message.

I think it has to do with the fact that, beyond Avatar, there aren't any interesting or even good cartoons on american television. There just isn't any variety to the shows. You look at anime, and you see so much variety, almost anyone could find something that they like. I have a friend who got hooked on Excel Saga after he said that anime sucked and he would never watch it. I got the last laugh.

You know, it's kinda hard to choose a good anime when there are so many of them out there. One that I would recommend is Getbackers . It's about these two guys, Ban Midou and Ginji Amanou, who have a recovery service with an almost 100% recovery rate. To put it lightly, they usually get screwed over at the end of each mission because they have no luck with money. It also doesn't help that they have a massive tab at the Honky Tonk cafe. The fighting is well choreographed, the comedy is hilarious, and the story about two down-on-their-luck guys is something that a lot of people can relate to.

It's a great series. I love it. Oh, and just so you know, it's an " (almost) 100% guarantee"

Suddenly, Bubbles discovered her new superpower: she could turn into a Bubbles-sized electromagnet and shock the crap out of herself

One of the best vg moments i've had was when my friend and I were playing Soul Caliber3. I had made a monk character who used the foot blades (grieve edge?) and I had backed my friend to the edge of the stage. I made my character do a flying kick and what does my friend do? He sidesteps. That's all well and good except for the fact that my character when flying off the side of the stage! Another moment came while playing FF8. I had just got up to get a quick drink and came back to play some more. I wasn't all that far in the game, but it was farther than I had ever been. Anyway, I must have been scuffing feet across the floor a bunch because when I picked up the controller, I recieved a static shock. A large one at that. It shorted out my controller and also did some funky things to the memory card.. I had to replace both of them.

Gaming Video Game Picture Caption Game!!! YAY!!!
Shaholl replied to Tatsubei Yagyu's topic in Noosphere
Sora: "Hee hee hee... boobies..." Donald: "Giggity giggity giggity." Goofy: "Me so horny" Flounder (behind *wink wink* Ariel): "Too late boys. She's mine!" -
Holy wha! I should do that :animeknow ! Pre-register that is...once I get the ok from the perental unit :animecry:
Just so you know, even with pre-registration, you'll still be in a very long line. It just won't be as long as the non pre-registration line. :catgirl: On a stranger note, you will see many a strange cosplayers. For example, I saw Raven from Teen Titans. I also saw the African-American version of Rurouni Kenshin, who happened to be a pretty cool guy. He thought I was someone in an anime he had once seen (I was dressed like I usually am: Jeans, t-shirt, combat boots, and trenchcoat). I even saw someone in a full-size Chocobo costume! The head was on a pole so the guy inside it could make it "look" at people! However, this wasn't the strangest thing I saw at Acen 2005. While waiting in line, I saw someone dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. I even videotaped him on my camera. :animeswea
