Final Fantasy X

Heh, I think Des cleared that up pretty much. I would merge this thread with the original, but it wouldn't matter since you didn't discuss anything about FFX. Oh yeah, welcome.. In the meantime, I encourage you to read the rules as well as stickies. One in particular, Hardwired Thread Directory Boom Boom. Haha. -- Bombers
  2.
AGREED ZOMG! Why is there all this hatred for Evangelion! Phenom, for shame, basing your opinion on the CN showing which cut out a ton of stuff (including the entire last episode!). My god! And anyway, the show had plenty of lightheartedness thrown in! :animecry: Oh well. No sense doing something to get me yelled at for trying to change peoples' opinions :animesigh
"Re-reads my post." I didn't base my opinion on what was shown on CN. Heck, from what I saw of it, I wouldn't even believe there was anything taken out of it. I have low tolerance for alot of things, and people with no backbone is one of them. But I'm going to be real with you. Even though Ghost in the Shell: SAC is my favorite anime, I am not a deep thinker. (I bring GitS in this because it's the only anime that I can think of outside of NGE that requires alot of thinking.) That mixed with Shinji and depression just don't spark anything with me. Heh, sorry.
-Lupin, which I can say absolutely nothing about. It's Lupin for god's sake. It's absurd to criticize this series; it's like passing judgment on Space Invaders.
It's taking me quite a bit to get use to the oldies type animation, but I do get drawn into it everytime they decide to air it or adult swim. "shrugs" I guess I can add G Gundam as well. It's the only Gundam show I've seen so far. While I look it now, it can be on the corny side (This hand of mine is burning red....), but "shrugs" I'd almost settle for anything if the action is atleast decent lol.
  3. I didn't start watching anime till 1999 - 2000 so, "shrugs". And also DBZ, seeing that I didn't even know of the word "anime" back in 97-98. In any case, I don't really do too much research on animes, so, unfortunately, I don't know the years of which these animes came out. DBZ - This was what got me started on watching nothing but action. I don't watch it as much as I use to, but it'll still be one of my favorite oldies. Yu Yu Hakusho - I did see a few of the earlier episodes on Toonami when it first started on there, but I quickly threw it aside when I saw that the action wasn't that great. (At that time I was comparing everything to DBZ... action wise) And when I came back to it, I believe Chapter Black was starting, and from there I was pretty much hooked. I still haven't seen much of the Dark Tournament saga yet. Ronin Warriors - It's been a long time since I've seen it so I barely remember much of it. But I did know I liked it for it's action.
Oh and I saw Evangelion, or however you spell it and I was not impressed. So I can't say that's a favorite. In fact I'm glad I rented it instead of wasting my money on buying it.
Agreed. Although I saw it on Adult Swim. So I didn't even have to waste the time renting it. :) Like Allanmorph, Shinji killed it for me. That and there was just too much depression in it for me to even care about it.
And Pokemon, of course. Anyone who denies watching the show when they were kids are just lying.
Except for those who started watching anime in the late teens :). I was watching things like Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men [strike]Power Rangers[/strike] TMNT as a kid, but we'll save that for another day.
  4. No doubt, it's a problem, but unfortunately, I just don't really care about storylines when it comes to games. Majority of the games I look for deals with things that's good for taking out aggression on. (That's the main reason why I look for beat em ups and hack n slashers.) But I guess I could give your suggestion a try. (It wouldn't hurt) And we're in luck seeing how I'm playing KH2 at the moment, but again, for the wrong reason. :) (Pure hack n slash and decent villains.) Thanks for the suggestion though. But lets not stray too far off topic with me and my short span of attention for stories. :)
  5. Last bad game I've played was Shadow the Hedgehog. Called myself trying to get into the platformer type games, but that died out quickly with me playing this game. But that was a long time ago, and the only game I can remember off the top of my head. (Now I just play games that I think are worth my time... mainly action/adventure type games.) In any case, what really killed this game is the camera. Most of the time I found myself battling the camera instead of the enemies because I would always end up over the edge. I like the idea of giving Shadow weapons, but I didn't like the idea of him driving especially with the messed up camera. Isn't he suppose to be as fast as Sonic, or maybe I was just assuming he was. But if he was suppose to be as fast as Sonic then I don't see the need for vehicles when he can skate with his shoes (or is he skating on air?) That's just a nitpick though so it was nothing major. Like most of the other games I play, I don't pay attention to the story. I have a short attention span as is, so I don't even bother trying to piece together things, unless it really intrigues me. That's about it for now. Most of the other games that I've played (and sold back) aren't really bad, but I just found them uninteresting or grew tired of the genre before attempting to get to the 1st boss. (Dragon Quest VIII and Chrono Cross.... Yep, I have a bad taste in games.)
  6. I've never been too good in debating so majority of the times I don't really voice my opinions. (Most of the times I don't care about the topic anyway.) Anyways, I don't really have much to say about the hentai forum suggestion since I don't really care whether we get one or not. And since I don't have an interest in it, like many other forums on this board, I won't go to them. So, poo on that issue. As far as a banner and avatar size increase. It depends on the size we're talking. I saw a post from The Boss saying something along the size of 600x1000. Now hopefully he was just joking. (I'm a serious guy and don't really find too many things amusing. I know, I need to live a little.) I'm a 56k/dial-up user and don't really have too many issues with loading/lagging problems, but I also don't want to have to stare at pictures that'll stretch my screen. While I could use the option to turn off signatures, I don't want to because I like to look at signatures. In any case, I'm all for an increase in sigs and avatars, but atleast be reasonable with it. Edit: My bad Sakura, and everyone else who said what I said, or something similar to it. I just read more of the posts that were in it. Heh.
  7.
you know what? Shut the hell up. You can say what everyone's said a thousand times about the One Piece theme song, but I don't know a single mutha ****er who can honestly say they hate the Pokemon original opening. And if i were to cross someone saying so, I'd whap them upsode the head.
Calm yourself. You have no right to lash out at anyone for having an opinion about a song they dislike. In any case, I don't really pay much attention to the theme songs these days unless they're really catchy. (And besides, I haven't been watching too much anime these days) But if I had to choose, I guess it would be that 2nd opening to Naruto. (Wait.. Is CN on the 2nd or 3rd opening? I know it's the opening that has crappy animation) It's hard to explain, but it just don't sound right for the show itself.
  8. Rogue Galaxy. I haven't played that much of it because, like you, I'm also in the middle of playing Kingdom Hearts 2. (yet again) Took a break from Star Ocean. In any case, from my little 10 minute experience with the game, it sort of feels like a Kingdom Hearts game with the hack n slash gameplay. (It's my type of game so I'm not really disappointed) I've also been looking into the .hack series, but I keep getting mixed views about it. I keep hearing that it's an action rpg type of game, but it play's like a MMO, and I'm not into MMO's. Perhaps someone can sum up what the gameplay is like because I've been a little too curious about this series.
  9. So I take it that there is no word about an U.S release? I don't think I can really say much that hasn't been stated by Kazuwa. I've also played 1 and 3, and despite what others have told me, I'm thinking about checking out 2 as well. As far as "Patty" goes. I can only assume that she's a made up character. Judging from this walkthrough, the only characters (main characters) in DMC2 are Dante (of course),
Lucia, Matier, and Arius.
And it's already been said that there is no Patty in DMC 1 and 3. I'm curious to see the animation in this as well.
  10.
Anyway, onto the discussion: 1) What grade are you going into after this year? Are you graduating? Or did you already graduate? If so, what year? 2) Are you, or were you, worried? What do you plan to do with your life or are you just as confused, (and in some cases, scared) about the future as I am? 3) Did everything work out in the end? Or was there some sort of hinderance that kept you from going or doing what you wanted to? 4) What sort of advice can you give to someone like me? (Someone in high school who is freaked out of his mind)
1.) I already graduated. 02. Heh, I can see my classmates shouting "02". I almost didn't graduate though because at this point I didn't care. (from the 11th grade to the 12th, I stopped caring.) (2, 3, and 4) Because I didn't care, I decided to take a year off, (bad move) but was job searching so I could start saving up (helping out to pay for college). And that's where things went wrong because I haven't been able to get a job, or I should say that nobody would call. (To this day, I still don't have a job because of this low job thing that's going on in Michigan) Year after that (all the way up to 2006) I was going to go to Michigan State University or University of Michigan, but I was being held back because of financial issues. Now I'm just going to go to a community college (which I should done from the get go) for computers. (Not my major but I'm undecided.) My advice to you would be, if you're thinking about taking a year off and you have a chance to get into college. Go to college 1st then take a year off. (or just don't take that year off at all)
  11.
1. How are you feeling right now? 2. What's going on in your life right now? what's 'driving you' I might say.
Hungry and still sleepy. Trying to find food in an empty fridge is a killer. Especially when it's either too hot to put on the oven, or when you're too lazy to do any cooking. Nothing's driving me. I'm one of those types that're not easily motivated so it's very rare to see me get excited over much. In any case, I'm just applying for jobs and waiting on this college to send me my information so I can get to gettin.
  12. All I can really say is oh my. Quite a few things happening at once. Kind of hard to say what I want to see first. I want to see where our little twist at the end of this chapter leads, but I also want to see that fight. Speaking of that little twist... Before I read the last page, I was thinking,
while Kabuto was telling somewhat of a life story, what if he is Sai's brother.
No evidence, but it was just a thought that was floating through the head. In any case, this was quite an interesting chapter.
  13. Worst animes eh. If I consider them bad I normally stop watching them after the third or forth episode. I know it's a bit harsh/unfair to judge like that, but can't help it. If something doesn't spark my interest by the 3rd or 4th episode, I'm done with it. (But I won't call them the worst since I know there may be others out there far worst than what I've seen, which isn't much.) In that case, One Piece. So I've heard that Funimation is going to be taking over this series or something like that. I don't really think that's going to change much for me since I don't like anything about the series. I don't like any of the characters. Luffy isn't exactly the type of character that I'd really like to see succeed in whatever his goal is. (I'll be honest. I can put up with him alot more than I can with Naruto) Who knows though, when Funimation take over I may check it out once again. Witch Hunter Robin - I was put to sleep during the 1st 7 minutes. To me this is one of those series where the previews is better than the series itself. If only they just had something to keep me interested because the animation looked good, but there was nothing to fall back on. I need my action. Inuyasha and Naruto - Well, they're decent animes, but what made me not really care much for them is some of the fans. They've been overhyped so much till the point that I was expecting to be blown away. (Ghost in the Shell: SAC type good.) But I was disappointed when I started watching these programs. Shippo and Naruto are anime killers. If a series is mediocre or decent I can actually stick around a bit for it, but Shippo and Naruto pisses me off to the point to where I just can't watch another episode or the rest of that current episode. (Why am I still watching it... >_>) That's about it I guess.
  14.
Or maybe there are some other things you like when reading a manga?
Naughty, naughty :) In any case, I only read one type of manga and it's the action types. I think they're called shonen...? "shrugs" Like anime, I haven't read much. I don't ever feel up to buying them or I've been too impatient to wait for anything to download. (anything that's really long anyway.) So far the only manga's I've read / am currently reading are Bleach, Naruto, Tenjho Tenge (too long to wait for downloading) and Rurouni Kenshin. Everyone once in a while I may browse through Hellsing and Samurai Deeper Kyo. So, like my animes, I only look for action.
  15. Not much these days because I'm a moody old fart. Sleep - I'm always in a good mood if I can get a good night of sleep, but most of the time I don't because my bed is umcomfortable (and my pillow is flat). So I sleep during the day. (I'm a blood sucker.) Solitude - I love my family dearly, but I get pestered almost around the clock. Folks just don't know when [strike]to shutup[/strike] I'm not in the mood for conversing with them. So every time I'm alone I cherish it. That's about all I can think of at the moment.
  16. I see. Thanks for the tips.
There's also a charm of insight, blackberries, falchion, Aquaberries and an Earth Pixie, though the Earth pixie is a pain to get since you need the Whimsical hauler to get it. And later you can invent one anyway, so it's not necessary to get it.
Good thing you said that because I also missed out on the charm of insight, falchion, as well as that Earth Pixie. The Hauler I was using (Whimiscal?) took me to the exit (unexpectedly).
And yeah, the guide is pretty damn useful. Not only does it have maps showing where everything is it has great tips on all that you need to do to get everything. In fact it's where I'm getting my information from. ^_~ The one by BradyGames is 268 pages thick. I've used mine a lot since I'm about half way through on the Universe level. I've only got a few more battle trophies to earn in order to unlock the hardest level. The 4D level. Though I'm wondering how in the world I'll manage to survive the first fight. I died the first time I tried to get past it on the harder Universe level. o_O
Good luck with that. By the way, don't you want to let me borrow that guide? "coughs" ^_^
  17. I'll eventually read those comments sooner or later ;). I just got this game yesterday, and, well, it's definately a breath of fresh air to play a rpg without the turn based combat. I just beat Norton, and I'm on my way back to Wipple/Whipple? (Whatever the name of that town is called.) So far there hasn't been anything that's really been impressing, but nothing annoying (outside of Meena. Her voice is.... argh) Cliff is a cool character. I like him better than Fayt so far. He reminds me of Yuri (Shadow Hearts: Covenant) with the whole black outfit and fighting style. Too bad his voice don't seem to match him too well. Fayt seems like another Sora. A bit on the naive side. Sohpia's a... [strike]freak. I don't normally see girls walking around with their pants unbuttoned and unzipped :) (Trying to seduce Fayt)[/strike] I don't really have much of an opinion about her just yet. ;) Peppita. More than likely I'll end up hating her more than any character in this game. That's about it for now. Edit: I just made it pass the caverns, (Kirsla, I believe that's the name) but I think I missed out on quite a few items while riding those Maulers. (Mainly the Earth thingy) Is that item a necessity or can I get by without it? If it is necessary, is there another place to get it, and will I need it for any upcoming battles? Bah, I need to get my hands on that guide >_>
  18. Oh... Don't know which one I want to choose. I like them all. At 1st I didn't know what you meant by JPEG compression, but now that I've changed it from PNG to JPEG, I see what you mean now. Now if only I can get the avy to show up. Thanks alot btw. ==================== I've been on an Alucard spree as of late. Again, just an avatar (if you want to include a banner, feel free ;)) Nothing fancy but nothing plain either. I have quite a few pictures of Alucard, and still searching as well. It's easy to find some good pics of him. If you need better pictures, (or have better pictures) feel free to ask. (feel free to use them)
  19. I'm just going to use ANN's description seeing how bad I am in describing things. Plot Summary: It is the year 2100, and on the colonised Moon, a project is under way to explore new aspects of energy. Amami Kurau is the daughter of the chief scientist on the project, and on her 12th birthday, she accompanies her father to the lab to observe the experiments. Then something goes awry, and Kurau is struck by twin bolts of light. In the aftermath, her father is dismayed to find that his daughter is no longer his daughter. Rather, her body is now home to two energy entities with fantastic powers. I managed to come across this while searching "on demand". And I got a bit curious and decided to check it out. While it was only the 1st episode that was on there, it was nothing breath-taking as far as story goes, but it did manage to get me interested. Animation wise, it's prettiful, but then again, it's done by BONES, and most, if not, all of there work borders between great and fantastic. At 1st i thought it was going to be another one of these stories that focuses on kids being the protagonist and whatnot, but
they fast forward quite a bit where Kurau is 22 years old and is working for some agency
or something. What made her interesting (to me) is that she seems to have an attitude that resembles Spike (Cowboy Bebop) in a way, and fights somewhat like the Major Kusanagi (GITS). Previews of the 2nd episode seems like it's going to be a slow down though.... In any case, anybody else watching this?
  20. So I've finally beaten this game. After putting it off for a year or two, hell, even after selling it at one point, I finally beat this game, in a matter of 4 to 5 days at that. Good game. I can probably tell what the story was about, but seeing that it's one of those romantic types, I stopped paying attention somewhere on the 3rd disc. :) Holy Wars and Hero's are a cheap tactic to win, but hey, I got tired after fighting Gargantua, so I said forget it (actually, I couldn't find some key that was suppose to be by some water fountain in Ultimecia's castle.), and just went straight for Ultimecia herself. (she's a slut I tell ya.) I missed out on some of the side quests, but I did manage to do that Deep Research facility. (I think that's what it's called.) It wasn't as bad as I thought it would turn out. Mainly because I was following a no level-up guide (which I happened to level up a couple of times because of Odin.... I can't stand that thing. Popping up when I don't want him to, and no showing up when I need him at desperate times.) I had all of the GF's, but I still need to see Bahumut, (sp?) Eden, Tonberry, and Cactuar's summoning. My party Squall (of course): Lvl 9 Zell: lvl 9 Irvine: Lvl 13 (maybe 14) I haven't fault Omega Weapon just yet. Probably won't for a while either because I'm a little tired of the game at the moment. (It might even be a while before I start playing Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne because I'm tired of turn based combat now.) All in all, it was definately a good game. Playing that card game takes it's toll as well. Plus and Random rules are stupid. >_>
Seeing Zell throw a hotdog into the camera was pretty funny :D

  21. I was thinking about my 1st 10-20 minute playthrough, and it got me wondering. When catching demons, can you catch more than one of the same type? Every time I went to talk to a, let's say a fairy, it would say something about her comrade (or something) and leave. Does that mean I have to get a specific item to get multiples of the same demons?
  22. Oh dear. Something being blown way out of proportion. Thought I'd never see the day where mario turns evil. [strike]The last few posts are about to / will be deleted.[/strike] Any further bursts will be deleted and warnings will be handed out. In the mean time. Hylian, um. Welcome, it's good to see you like this game and whatnot, but to go as far as to down grade someone because they don't play at a tourney base level... It's not called for, and we don't need it. All it does is lead to wars and crap. ~Phenom~
  23. Last game I brought was Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I haven't played it too much because I've been trying to finish up with Final Fantasy 8. I'm following this no level-up guide, and I should beat it within a day or two as I'm currently on the 3rd disc. As long as I've had this game, I still haven't beaten it. In any case, I'm thinking about going on another game spree. (because I can't decide if I want to buy a movie, anime, show) My eyes are currently set on Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time. Judging from it's thread, it sounds pretty good. (And it's $8 :)) Hopefully, the voice acting won't be as bad as I've heard it was. And I'm also curious about this "real time" gameplay. I don't think I've ever played an RPG with that type of battle system. Unless X-Men Legends, Kingdom Hearts, and Zelda (OoT) has that style of gameplay? (I always thought they were action games.) Anyways, Valkyrie Profile 2 [strike]as well as Rogue Galaxy[/strike] is another game I'm thinking about as well. I was hoping there was a thread about the 2 games, but seeing as there isn't, I need to know if they're worth checking out? Rogue Galaxy is on the way. Now I'm thinking about Tales of the Abyss and Radiata Stories.
  24. I love how people make it seems like $50 is easy to come across these days. (Maybe people should just go plant a money tree in their backyard and make life that much easier.) Some people do not have jobs, and some folks don't rely on their parents to buy movies and whatnot. Plain and simple. If people want to dwell about watching past shows, then let them dwell. As far as bringing old shows back and whatnot. It doesn't really bother me. As long as it's better than Zatch Bell, Bobobo bo Bobobo.. or something. (One Piece can go as well.) New or old, they gotta interest me 1st though. Only thing I really watch on AS is Bleach. I can't get into Blood+ for some reason, and I don't stay up to see Eureka 7. (Trinity Blood is going to replace it, according to their schedule anyway.)
  25. Welcome Snake'sLover18. I will be closing this thread because threads like this generally don't develop any means of discussion. Meaning, they normally lead onto one word posts, posts that don't give reasons for their choices, or some type of fanboy/girlish comment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or any other staff member. Boom.
