[b][size=1]It hasn't hit me yet. While my views has been changing about Nintendo, slowly, but it's changing, and with the $250 price tag sounding nice and all. It's just not sinking into my skull. (To be honest, I'm not motivated to get any of the next gen consoles.) With that being said, I haven't been keeping tabs on much either. So what exactly is Wii Sports? The maddens, Nba's, and whatnot? It's a 1st time for me hearing that type of talk. Because I don't hear people saying anything about sony sports, or microsoft sports...[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Couldn't really think of a name title for the thread, and I didn't want to use Elements of Anime, (Like in the play it forums) but I'll see if I can come up with one down the line. In any case, I'm sitting here watching my tapes that I recorded off of tv, and I'm watching IGPX at the very moment. And everytime I watch it I keep wondering to myself why many people didn't like this program. (You can answer that, but it's not really the question I'm asking here.) Which brings me to my question. What exactly do you look for when watching anime? What turns you away from watching certain shows? Unlike most people, I'd think of myself as a strange person because I look for action 1st and foremost, and then animation / artwork and then storyline, but half the times I don't really pay any attention to the stories. I know it's a bad thing and all, but I have a short attention span and my mind would block out a lot of things. I've Ghost in the Shell: SAC, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and many other animes (well, atleast the ones that I consider to me be favorites) atleast 5-7 times. But till this very moment, I still wouldn't be able to tell you much about the story. Character development is nice and all, but I don't pay much attention to it as well. (Told ya I'm a strange one :animesmil ) Certain animes, I'll just go with Naruto and Inuyasha seeing that they've gotten the most hype, but just never hit me. Like I said, I normally don't care about character development, but there are times when bad characters just turn me off of the show altogether. In this case, Naruto and Shippo. I've never been into characters that seeks attention through playing pranks or characters who spills others secrets and think that it's comical. (Maybe I'm just too serious) But those 2 characters alone turned me away from their shows. Speaking of comedy, that's another way to turn me away from animes. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good laugh every once in a while but some shows tend to have either too much comedy or corny things that're suppose to be funny; Eureka 7 at one point for me just seemed to focus on comedy quite a bit, and that just didn't cut it. (Honestly, I don't like comedy in animes, but I will watch if it has alot of action.) Naruto on the other hand is just downright corny. Nothing in it seems funny to me, and I've read the manga. All them perverted jokes... Really, that's suppose to be funny? But then again, as I've said before, I don't have a sense of humor. So yeah, annoying characters, bad comedy, too much comedy can turn me away from a lot of animes. Bah.... That was long. >_> [/size][/b]

[b][size=1]Yes!!! I am a hothead. Not to the point where I'd get pissed off at every little thing, but most of the times people do stupid things where it just sets me off. Nowdays, I try to avoid a lot of situations / conversations because I have one of those tempers where I would do something stupid. (If there is a nearby brick, I will launch it at someones forehead at full force.) At one point I use to be very calm and collected. But all that went downhill in 2004. It's too long to talk about so I won't bored anyone about it. Let's just say that that whole year was hell for me. Now I just don't care (and avoid a lot of situations) about much these days, but it is still easy to piss me off. Well, I won't say it's that easy, but it's definitely not hard to do.[/b][/size]

[quote name='BKstyles']Well first of all, to Venom. New york represent, good to see another resident on the boards. Though i gotta say when it comes to baseball i'm a Mets fan so i can't approve of your attire, :P. J/k man. [/quote] [b][size=1]Lol. I'm not a resident. (but I have been there, I wouldn't mind going back either.... Just money shy at the moment.) I just like to wear different teams in different cities / states. But around the time I took that picture, I was into a lot of white and black clothes. (I'm not even much of a baseball fan, I just like their jerseys.) As far as you being a mets fan. That's the 2nd time I've heard that comment XD. Someone even post a picture at this other site saying me vs them wearing a Mets jersey, but it was all fun and games though.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Heh, totally unexpected. I pictured a lot of you to look much older.... Judging from some of the way you all post / talk or whatever. Edit 3: Then again, I didn't expect some people to have facial hair either.... :animesmil Sadly, I'm not much of a picture freak so I'll just share this and be on my way. [U][url]http://img53.imageshack.us/my.php?image=baseball4zx.jpg[/url][/U] Excuse the blurry-ness. Edit: Stupid *** image tag don't ever want to work properly when I try to post pictures Edit 2: Old picture. About 4 years old now. Just picture a full grown goatee. And you can pretty much figure how I look.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Kon? In episode 1....? Exactly how many chapters of the manga are covered in 1 episode? Bah, I wished I could've seen it. >_>[/b][/size]

[quote name='Charles']So wait, is Nero supposed to be Virgil? I'm confused.[/quote] [b][size=1]The same guy who gave the information responded with "oh, Nero might not be Vergil".... So at this moment I'm just as confused as anybody else. But seeing that close-up on Nero, I'm willing to bet that's a new character instead of Vergil/Nelo Angelo. Look a bit on the younger side compared to Vergil and Dante, if the story is following DMC1 that is...[/b][/size]

[Quote=Vic Viper @ psfantasy.com]- Nero will be the main character not Dante. (LAME ) -Nero has devilish right arm. He can draw enemies toward himself and then throw them. He starts to realise his powers in DMC4. DMC4 portraits Nero when he earns his powers and hereafter. - They chose Nero because Dante was overused (3 games) & they wanted to put the new users and the old fans in the same starting line for DMC4. - Nero looks like Dante because the silver hair and red coat is more like a symbol to the DMC series/ - "Dante is grim and he can't settle down. As story progresses the situation changes, how's that?" says Kobayashi meaning that Dante might be playable. -They introduced the right arm draw-throw system because in DMC3 when you beat the enemies, combos brake. Besides expect the sword and weapons this system provides multiple choises and the fun expands, However depending on the enemy you can't draw and throw everyone of them. - The combo system has as base the one from DMC3 & they are revising/reworking details according to the fans' comment-remarks. -Nero's sword has a bar. The sword has somekind of a driving force in it. It's a new way/element to enjoy the sword handling. -In TGS there will be real time footage. all info are from famitsu mag [URL=http://xc5.xanga.com/0cbd13657073476454877/b51719623.jpg]Nero pics[/URL] [URL=http://x67.xanga.com/78ca86703333576454892/b51719636.jpg]Dante pics[/URL] [URL=http://x00.xanga.com/80fd13652103476454945/b51719678.jpg]more pics[/URL] [URL=http://x23.xanga.com/3c9a81652163576454924/b51719659.jpg]Nero's sword Red Queen[/URL] And apparently Nero is Nelo Angelo and the game suppose to take place after DMC 1.[/quote] [b][size=1]I'm interested to see how this one will turn out. I can't really say too much since I don't have much of an opinion on this one. Just gotta wait till TGS.[/b][/size]

And that action is what keeps me glued to my seat, but yeah, I think you're right. IGPX is pretty much action reliant. (But no complaints from me though.) But then again, I don't think anyone has made a decent story out of the racing genre. I've never seen Initial D so I can't really judge that, but I'm pretty certain most if not all racing animes, movies lacks in story. There's not really much to build one on IMO. [b][size=1]Edit: Couldn't resist not posting about this so I deleted and then copied and pasted. In any case, IGPX ended 2 weeks ago, and I am pleased with the series as a whole. Sure it had it's ups and downs, but it was still a great ride. (For me anyway.) It's just sad to it being booted off Toonami when there were like 4 episodes left. I hear it was due to ratings.... "shrugs" In some ways, I wish this had 52 episodes instead of 26 but oh well.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Heh, with the pass few episodes, you'd think people would still talk about this. I have started taking a liking to this program, but with that being said, I still have no idea what the story is suppose to be about. However, I am glad that they toned down on the humor side. (I have no sense of humor so one can only take so much, ya know.) In any case, I missed this pass episode (satellite is out, and probably won't be back until next week :cussing: ) and was wondering if someone can tell me what happened?[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Would I say I love anime? Probably not. I'm more of the casual anime fan. Meaning if someone were to trash talk anime, I wouldn't care because I don't support it as heavily as other people do. (I'm not easily motivated as we speak, let alone praise anything.) In any case, I'm drawn to anime mainly because I'm not satisfied with the movies that're being released. I haven't seen too many good action flicks within the past 2 years. So in my case, the action brings me to watch anime.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Hmm. Tough question. (even harder trying to put this into words.) I like both that's for sure. One thing I don't like about manga's, and this is only a minor set back because I'm not much of the reader type, is that whenever I get tired or sleepy it's hard to read them because my brain would go dead. But what I do like about them, (from what I read anyway) if they're action pack, they can easily suck me in. I guess you can say I like anime a little more because I like to see all of my action in motion. One thing I hate about anime though is that when they have fights that're really good in the manga, and you can kind of imagine / picture the impact of a fierce blow, but when you see it in motion, it's not as hard as it should be. (Ex. Naruto vs Kiba. That kick that Naruto landed should've been a lot more harder than what was shown. Atleast that's how I feel about it. "shrugs")[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]I see what you're saying. Main reason I asked is because I didn't know if CN or IFC would be available on basic. Most of the times they rarely put any good movies on so half the time I'm watching CN or G4, and Samurai 7 on saturdays on IFC. Thanks though.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]I didn't know where to ask this at, but I figured this would be the best place for it. In any case, my family or rather my mom is thnking about downgrading from total choice satellite (I think that's the name or you can just say DTV with extra channels) to basic satellite. (Whatever that means...) My question is to whoever has a satellite without the extra channels. (the ones where you don't call for or something like that.) What channels are available if we choose to downgrade?[/b][/size]

[QUOTE=Ikillion][COLOR=#99121c][SIZE=1][FONT=Comic Sans MS]Yeah I just watched that fight again, and it really was just pure awesome. AS far as the animation goes, I would say that it is rather high, I don't know if it does exactly match that of GitS but it does give it a run for its money. I don't know if this is just me but they really did pay a good attention to detail to the amount of blood that was lost, as well as how the blood just looked altogether. (Even though it seems witht he amount of blood that they loose that they should be dead). The first time I saw the animation seem to tweak up a notch is while [spoiler]Renji is fighting Ichigo and some of his hollow power sinks out, with out the mask and all for the first time[/spoiler]. The effects that they seemed to use were really top notch, as well as the same one they used for each of the petal of Senbonzakura. Its almost like they made it 3D while still having it in a 2D animation.[/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR][/QUOTE] [b][size=1]I see. And judging from what I've seen from the promo, and looked pretty good, but I can't really say until Sept 9 rolls around because it was like 30 seconds. Speaking of the promo, did anyone else happen to catch it? What were your thoughts about it? Was it me or did anyone else hear Steven Blum as a hallow? [spoiler]Inoue's brother to be exact?[/spoiler] I don't have any complaints about what I've heard. People are saying that Johnny should sound a little more rougher, and Rukia sounds either perfect or shouldn't sound too girly... "shrugs" And then you have those who can't stand the fact that Shinigami is replaced with Soul Reaper.... Go figure. Like I said, I have nothing negative to say about it thus far, but I'm curious to know what everyone else thought about it.[/size][/b]

[b][size=1]The 1st thing I look for in my games is gameplay / controls. If the game plays smoothly, you have caught my attention. That's why RPG's are last pick on my list to get because I don't like the "push the button and wait" type of controls. (I forgot what that type is called, but it'll come back to me eventually.) I know about the action-RPG's, but we'll get on that some other time. The next thing I look for is graphics. I am also a graphics whore, but unlike Charles most of the times I won't give a lot of chances to games without good graphics. (I know, I'm closed-minded, and I need to work on that.) It took me so long to play FFVII because of it's poor graphics. I just couldn't get over the fact that I was walking around as some tiny character with weird hands and feet. (Especially since I played FFVIII and X 1st.) But I got to it eventually because of boredom. Last but not least would be the story. But most of the time I really don't look for it because I rarely pay attention to the story. Till this day, I still wouldn't be able to tell you what's going on in the MGS storyline simply because I never paid any attention and I played it about 6-7 times. (You pretty much have no choice but to pay attention to the story in RPG's, with all the dialogue and whatnot.) If you have all 3 of those in one package, you just might have a perfect game, atleast for me anyway. Which is why I like Ninja Gaiden so much. Team Ninja was even nice enough to throw in a bit of extra's with the AI being no joke at all, and very nice cinema's. Next would be DMC3, and so on.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]That's quite nice. Thanks a lot. But out of curiousity, seeing that you mentioned a black background. And I'm liking the cube or square effect (Assuming that suppose to be that world crumbling...?) I'm wondering how would that look with a black background. I'm picturing that in my head, and the results are coming out quite nicely. BTW. Don't worry about the time length. I'm a patient guy.[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Assuming you're wating for my post ^^. What can I say.... take your time I guess. Don't want to take up your time on whatever it is that you're doing. [/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Didn't want the Urahara set anymore. Atleast not at the very moment anyway. Like the previous set though, I don't have much to say about this set. (A lot of my choices are going to say "your choice" or "have fun with it") I am on a Bleach kit right now. Theme - Bleach (I guess) Background - have fun with it, but please, no straight black backgrounds. I've seen enough wallpapers that was straight black dealing with Zangetsu. Text - N / A Size - Default Picture - [URL=http://www.animegalleries.net/img/125586]Zangetsu[/URL] Avy pic - [URL=http://www.animegalleries.net/img/125578]Zangetsu Avy pic[/URL] Size - Default Text - My name will do for now. If you have better pictures then by all means, use them. (if you want to)[/size][/b]

There's always Yu Yu Hakusho to cure your thirst for fighting anime. At 1st you would think it's like DBZ, but it's actually better IMO. (Actually, I think it's the best fighting type out there, but that's just my opinion.) As Black Rurouni mentioned, Street Fighter is another one, but I suggest you watch the movies instead of the series. (street fighter 2 V) Well, actually, if you're going to watch the series, I suggest you watch just the 1st half because after they arrive in I think Thailand (sp?) things go downhill from there. I haven't seen it yet, but you may want to check out Flame of Recca as well. I hear that's pretty good as well. (Atleast I think that's the name of it.)

[quote name='Gavin]Does anyone else here have big feet, like size 12 [13 US'] and find it hard to get comfortable shoes ?[/quote] [b][size=1]I too where a size 13, but the shoes I wear runs big so I never really had a problem finding comfortable shoes. Speaking of the type of shoes I wear, if you're wondering why I have a short stack in games and animes (hell, only anime I own is Samurai X, I recorded the rest I have thus far), it's because I spend most of my money on shoes and clothes. (I need to start saving up.) Most of the shoes I wear are the ever expensive Jordans, but like my games I wait till they go down to a decent price. (mainly $70-$80) Another shoe I wear a lot of are Air Force Ones. They're quite comfortable, and plain at the same time. What I hate about them is that most of the plain colors are hard to find while they're selling a bunch of flashy colors. Some looks nice, but when you put all those colors into one shoe..... ugh. And then there's the boots. I wear a lot of Timberlands. (Only in the fall and of course winter though) Again, they have the plain colors I look for, but I've been trying to get my hands on the two toned colors. I have quite a lot of shoes but only 4 pairs of boots. "shrugs"[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]Man, the stuff some of you say..... Is just random. Can turn a frown upside down anytime when you see stuff like "Root beer sucks pencils." or "I simply do not see why everyone loves it so much, it's disgusting and looks like mutated piss." That's some funny stuff. But in any case, I've lightened up on the sodas because they use to leave me with acid bumps out the wazoo. But I do still drink Dr. Pepper every once in a blue moon. Sprite is decent, but again not something I'll drink all the time. My preferred drink nowdays is Gatorade. When they're ice cold, they hit the spot. [/b][/size]

[b][size=1]So tell me how many of you were disappointed when you found out [spoiler]Urahara wasn't going to be going with Ichigo inc.[/spoiler] I thought I would finally get to see his ban kai, but perhaps it wasn't meant to be shown at the moment. Uhh.... I didn't finish reading it either because the quality was really poor. The last few chapters I've been reading were pretty poor. Were they even done by m7?[/b][/size] Edit: Oops. Just noticed (well not bold letters) that it said ; by Des and Low Quality......

[b][size=1]I have a question about the animation. Seeing that I've only read the manga thus far, patiently (impatiently) waiting for it to premiere on Sept 9. I tend to compare the artwork to the animation quite a bit. I've seen a couple of pictures of the anime, and it looks good and all, but I've never seen any pictures of the fights and whatnot. (pictures I saw was of solo characters) The reason I'm wondering this is because I use to read Naruto and the artwork for it was pretty good. Saw a couple of pictures of it in color, and it was ok, cool, whatever. Then I hear people talking about the animation in the anime. Saying it's top notch, superb and any other high praising words you can think of. But when it came on for the 1st time on Toonami, (I'll admit it now, the 1st episode's animation was pretty good.) I didn't think it was all that great. (It's good, but it's not great... put it like that.) Now mind you, when so many people speak highly of something I'm going to compare it with others that ranks good to spectacular in that same category. Meaning I was comparing it to Samurai X (T*B) and Ghost in the Shell: SAC. The same is happening for Bleach. I'm hearing a lot of high praising for Bleach's animation. It's not going to stop me from watching Bleach or anything, I just want to know (if I were comparing it to GitS and Samurai X) would I be getting my hopes up if I were expecting the animation to be on the level of those animes? (Kind of anxious to see the fight between Ichigo and Byakuya in motion ^_^)[/b][/size]

[b][size=1]I still watch every once in a while. My favorite games thus far are hats, irish drinking song, sound effects, and 3 headed broadway. The events thay normally have me in tears are; Irish Drinking Song, well not occasionally, but the one I crack up at the most is the one where Drew didn't finish his line, and Ryan just said some mumble jumble. (That's where it starts, no body didn't say anything for a good while because they were laughing, and I would start laughing) And Collin ended it with "MEOW" I only watch Whose Line to catch that specific episode now. (I have the episode almost memorized. I know Collin was wearing red while Ryan wore blue and Greg was on there and they did Film dub which started the whole "MEOW" thing.) Sound Effecst - I can barely explain this one. When they try to do sounds for Collin and Ryan, and just make random noises...... And I hear Drew cracking up in the background.... I'm cracking up. His laugh is contagious. 3 Headed Broadway - I don't laugh at everyone of them, but the one that brings me to tears is the one where David Hassellhoff (sp?) was on. Man, they're suppose to say 1 word, and David says 2-3 words, and have everyone looking stupid, and then Drew bust out laughing....... yeah, that's funny stuff.[/b][/size]
