1. Most annoying enemies.... I give it to those black ninjas on Ninja Gaiden. (I think they were called spider clan ninjas or something of that sort) I think Team Ninja was doing a little drinking when they decided to put them into the game. They're not hard, (just bit my tongue) they're just so damn annoying. If I'm not mistaken, they move faster than you do. When they gang-up on you, blocking won't help. When they throw the explosive shirukens (sp?), it's murder she wrote. Them alone is enough to piss one of for a little bit.
  2.
One of my favorite genres is Hardcore, the good kind. Really, if you don't like hardcore, you've either not found the right band, or you get headaches too easily to enjoy them.
Or they're just not into it. Now I'm not trying to start anything, but come on.... No point in being judmental if someone don't listen to a certain type of music. In any case. I haven't been listening anything lately. But whenever I do listen to music, I'm either listening to gospel, R&B, or very little rap. (Eminem or old school) Oh yea, I can't forget about anime / japanese music. The main reason I listen to this one is because I don't understand what's being said. The music this day in age... Has become very tiresome. Rap - *shrugs* Money, girls, cars... mumble jumble..... Half the time I barely understand what's being said now because of all that so-called gold, platinum, grillz that are in their mouth. It's sad too because I understand rappers that rap fast (Twista, Busta Rhymes, Bone Thugs n Harmony) moreso than these slow rappers.. with this stuff in their mouth. But nevertheless, I still listen to just very little of it though. Gospel - I have no problems with this genre of music. I find it very soothing. R&B - Same as rap. They're singing about the same thing over and over. But I can stand this more than rap. Main R&Ber's I listen to is Alicia Keys, Usher, and Sean Paul... (raggae or r&b?) I don't listen to any form of rock, metal, country, polka.... or whatever.
  3.
I'm with you on the single player campaign. While the story is interesting, it does get extremely repetitive. I think the real pull of Halo comes from its multiplayer, especially when Halo 2 is thrown in with Xbox Live. There's something about how the multiplayer games are set up that is just incredibly fun. It's hard to explain but I am one of many who have spent way too much time playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live in the past.[/color']
I don't think it's fair to base a judgment on repetitiveness, but I guess that's just me. I understand that all you're doing is going around shooting things and such and it becomes boring and such, but if that's the case ALL games IMO would be consider repetitive. I guess that's why repetitions doesn't bother me.
I think that if you play Final Fantasy VII today for the first time, it's probably less impressive because of all that has come after it. But if you were to play it when it was first released, I think the praise would make more sense. It's like that with Super Mario 64; play it now and it feels limited and clunky compared to games like Jak & Daxter or even Super Mario Sunshine. A lot of it is about context, I think.
I think you nailed it perfectly. And I think I mentioned it in another thread that maybe if I've played FFVII back when it 1st came out I probably could've had a different opinion. Not to mention I started out playing FFVIII before it. And then with all the praise and glory I heard about it, and still hear about it. It was misleading for me in a big way. As far as what I think is overrated.... *shrugs* FFVII, VIII, X - Honestly, this one can be ignored because I am biased against RPG's, especially those turn based games. Even though I was addicted to FFVIII for a little bit, it still didn't change my views about RPG's. God of War - I'm a big action fan. But I found games such as Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden to be better than this. But this one ended up getting the most hyped. It was a good game though, but it never kept me interested like DMC 3 and NG. Tekken 5 - To be honest.... Soul Calibur 2 is right here with it. I don't know why, but I'm not feeling these two games. In Tekken 5, I liked the idea of adding new styles to the characters.... (outside of Jin.... he sucks now) But there was nothing that blew me away. After getting alot of recommendations.... I was highly disappointed with T5. SC 2.... on the other hand.... It's good and all, but I just find SC 1 to be much better for some odd reason. That's pretty much it though. I don't play many games anymore outside of the Metal Gear series, DMC and Ninja Gaiden. And then there's DoA and Shenmue on a occasional basis. Outside of that.... I've had a lack of interest in games lately.
  4.
I think s-CRY-ed ,Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Fullmetal Alchemist should have sequels. Since the end of s-CRY-ed just sucked. We didnt know what happened to Kanami or Mimori. Ryuuho Kazuma or anybody!!! Cowboy Bebop had a ending that sucked and should have a sequel. Rourouni Kenshin a anime that needs a sequel!! Thay need to make one!!!
And exactly how did Cowboy Bebop's ending suck?
Because the leading character died at the end?
That's probably one of the greatest endings to a series ever. In any case, I don't want to take this to an off-topic debate so.... "shrugs"
  5. Instead of saying that they need to make a sequel to Cowboy Bebop, I'm going to say they need to do a prequel or a little OVA/OAV. Mainly because I want to see what happened during the times Spike was in Red Dragon. They could also show how / why he became a bounty hunter, met up with Jet and whatnot as well as explain Len and Shen's role. Showing a little bit of Vicious past wouldn't hurt either (mainly his time on Titan with Gren) I also agree on the Rurouni Kenshin sequel... except I'd rather have them do another prequel. Showing Aoshi's past during the revolution. I would say Hellsing, but there's no point in saying that now.
  6. Yea, they are the same person.
Other alias: Daniel Andrews / Steven J. Blum / Steven Blum / Steve Blum / Roger Canfield / Richard Cardona / Steven Jay / Brandon Jeremy / David Lucas / Andrew Watton
And there you have it. Kind of makes you wonder which is his real name.
  7. No Inuyasha for me. I don't watch it. As far as IGPX goes. I do think it's a good show. At 1st I was a little skeptical, mainly because I'm not into those sports type or mecha type animes. But the creators of GitS did this so I had to check it out. And to my surprise I found myself getting hooked.
  8. Actually r2vq, I believe that's another alias that Steven Blum goes under. There's a different site that says Steven Jay Blum is voice acting as Mugen.
  9. Meh, I need some spoilers... Detroit is under a snow storm warning and it's killing my satelitte (sp?) signal. Been under this warning since 8 pm and it's said that it's not going to end till 12 pm (tomorrow) I hoping that it'll clear up for just an hour so I can see Full Metal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell:SAC. I need to know what happened in IGPX. (a little summary) I really wanted to see that fight.... And from the way it's looking, I'm going to need to know what's happening in FMA and GitS. Thanks in advance. Edit: Turns out that the storm has toned down a bit. I caught the 3-3:30 episodes. (eastern time)
  10. That's a toughy. I guess I'd say my favorite would be Mugen. For some reason I find him alot different all the other hot heads. Anytime I need a comic relief I could always depend on Mugen because of his actions. But to be honest, I like Jin and Fuu just as much as Mugen but enough about that. I just saw the episode that came on about 45 minutes ago and I have to say that was probably my favorite episode throughout the entire series. Don't get me wrong. Each episode was entertaining but this one had everything I'd look for in an anime. Question. I may have to rewatch it though.
Did that blind lady die at the end because I didn't see any blood on her at all, nor did I see Mugen complete that swing?
Again, I may have to rewatch that part.
  11. So now that I have my copy of the special edition. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. (Just a tiny bit.) Mainly because when playing as Vergil they're not revealing any part of his story. No cutscenes outside of what they show at the beginning. And I'm on level 14. (A different intro for Vergil) Other than that. You're playing through the exact same levels as Dante. (I guess this was expected though.) Now that the bad parts are out of the way. I do still like the game although it's alot easier especially playing as Vergil since he's much more powerful than Dante. Vergil doesn't have that fancy style like Dante does. He's more cutthroat. Which is a plus. I'd say it's alot easier getting S ranks with him more so than Dante. One thing Vergil should've had is Air Hike. It feels funny not being able to double jump. Another thing.... I think Vergil is a little cheap because Force Edge is just entirely too good. Fights don't even last long with it. ^_^
  12. Hmm... At 1st I had high hopes for this game but when I actually rented it, it was a complete let down from Budokai 3. One person mentioned the camera was horrible or something of that sort. And I have to agree with that. I do not like fighting games where the camera is behind you. Especially by the rocks. Another problem I had with the game is the cheap tactic with the guard breaking. (I think it was the O button where you'd hold it or something like that) Kid Buu abused it like crazy. (And I know it was to make him the final boss but damn.) I don't like how they changed the control setup either. They were very sluggish. The timing after a button was pressed is slow. (similar to Final Bout) What else? The characters. I like, but I don't like the wide variety of characters. If you're going to include characters make sure to include every character instead of adding upgraded versions of a character. (The idea of playing as 5 different Goku's........) I was also disappointed in the story mode of this one. Budokai 3 went all the way to that Shenron thing, but skipped a few stories, while this one went through little bits of GT's story (don't get me wrong, I don't like GT either) but left Shenron out completely. I did like the intro to this though. I guess that's plus. Graphics were okay, but I was expecting a little bit of an upgrade after watching the intro. *Sighs* I was disappointed at that as well. Oh well. Outside of the intro, there was nothing I really liked about this one.
  13.
i just wanted to know some on your favorite anime and some that you recommend lol thanks alot
You'd probably want to give a list of animes you've seen as well as stating what type of animes you prefer and whatnot. As far as my favorite anime goes. It's Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Smooth animation. Nice music. Great storyline. (If you can pick up on it. I had to watch twice so.... *shrugs*) The characters are enjoyable.... well, I'll take that back. (I'd say that's more of an opinionate thing) I particularly don't hate any of them though. (I find none of them annoying though so it's a great cast in my book.) I haven't seen the subtitled version but the dubbed version is nicely done.
  14.
An anime is a japnese animation, since the boondocks are made in america and originated from a american comic strip, its not a anime, its a cartoon... a good cartoon
I agree with that. (And it is indeed a good cartoon) What made me question whether it was an anime or not is that the animation or art style is very similar to Samurai Champloo's style. I heard it (Boondocks) was inspired from SC or something like that. (I also heard that the creators favorite anime series were FLCL and Samurai Champloo) Is any of this true?
  15.
Just wondering... what episode is the Adult Swim broadcast up to?
The last episode that was played was titled Fake Food. Which, now that I think about it with all the fake food in it and then I thought about how
Section 1 was being lead to false bait.
I know, I'm slow..... Don't tell nobody though ^_^.
  16. I watch Hellsing just as much as the next. Matter fact, I'm watching it right now. Favorite character is Alucard. (no doubt) My truest opinion. If there was no Alucard, there's no Hellsing. He made the show for me. Animation is nicely done. I don't really pay much attention to the music. (Outside of the opening and ending themes) I do have a question though. What exactly is Walter? It's obvious that he's not a human. ^_^
Unfortunately I don't feel the same enthusiasm everyone else feels. The first episode wasn't all that good in my view, but sometimes the first episode isn't the one to grab me. The animation was great and the characters meshed well, but things just didn't feel right.
Sadly.... I agree with this post. Even though I actually liked the 1st episode.... Honestly, I caught this series somewhere in the middle. I think
Ryuhou
had lost his memory or something like that. I was interested from that point on but when those last 2 - 3 episodes came around...... I just stopped liking it. So I tried to look at the series from the beginning. This time, I was looking at it to catch the story. I'd say after the 4th (maybe the 5th) episode, I don't know why.... I just lost interest in it completely. Edit: Nevertheless. I do think it's worth checking out on AS. ^_^ The animation is nice but I wouldn't boast on it too much. If I had to say a character that interested me the most. It would be Cougar. (Assuming he was the comedy relief?) Question. The artists/animators for this. Did they also work on the animation for Gundam Seed? (happened to watch it one day...... I regret doing that too.) The characters look similar (in terms of style)
  18. I guess you can say I like both but I do prefer anime over manga. I like to see things in motion over imagining what's going on. Another thing I don't really care for about the manga is that all of them are in black and white. Sometimes the black in some pictures can be way too dark to see all the details. (Mainly speaking about Bleach.... Maybe it's because of the quality???) Anyways... I'd like to see some mangas be done in color.
  19.
3.some anime people are hot and anime is a great thing to watch i just love anime and people who don't like anime have no imagination
No imagination..... That's a pretty bold assumption. Really, I watch anime (not all) and I have no imagination. (I'm as dull as they come) Just because people don't like animes doesn't mean they don't have an imagination. If they choose not to like it, then let it be.
  20. I don't know if I'd want to be in a samurai anime. Mainly after watching Samurai Champloo (I know none of it is real) I don't like the idea of giving up / selling your wife because you're in a tight bind or have to pay off some debts. There are some other reasons but that's the main one for them. I couldn't be in any animes such as Bleach or Yu Yu Hakusho because I wouldn't like the idea of having demons / hollows haunting me. (You know how hard it would be to sleep?) I guess the only animes I'd probably want to live in would be Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: SAC. For CB, I'd want to see what it's like to live your life on other planets and such. And as far as GitS. I like the idea of hacking eyes, brains, etc etc. But to be perfectly honest. I'd really prefer to live in a game world moreso than an anime world. Specifically speaking of Shenmue.
  21. I'll just do the list of animes that I've seen all or most of because I've recorded most of my animes off cartoon network or some other channel ^^ Too bad the list will be very short Ghost in the Shell:SAC - Like Raya said. It's a brain racker. But I don't spend my time trying to figure out what literature is being used / thrown into the mix. (but it can't be helped because the dialogue draws you in as well.) I mainly look at this because of it's animation. Cowboy Bebop - I think there was only one episode I didn't really care for because I didn't really find any meaning to it. (Simply of the Devil... I think that's the eppy) But other than that, I didn't see any reason for me to not enjoy it. Rurouni Kenshin - Even though I'm still missing the whole ending arc. This is the anime that started it all for me. It had everything I was looking for. (mainly action) A few annoying characters but "shrugs" Yu Yu Hakusho- I don't think I should list this one because I missed the whole Dark Tournament saga. Anyways..... It's another little action anime for my taste. Vandread - A fun anime. (Me..... liking a fun anime......) I like how they used the men and women meeting for the 1st time. You can tell I'm getting lazy can't you? It's 2 a.m. so I'll just list the rest Hellsing G Gundam Trigun Samurai Champloo That's about it. Most of these I have seen all or most of and enjoyed.
  22. ^ LOL.
Begging your pardon, but most guys ARE either arrogant pricks or sissy pansies afraid to talk to women. (Or gay. You didn't mention that option.) I thought everyone knew that.
Low Blow. Well, atleast you said most guys. Anyways.... I don't really find this to be much of a big deal. The big breast, women dressing the way they do, sissy / arrogant boys..... none of it really matters to me. Really.. it's all old news to me. I see it everyday. (Perhaps the older you get, less things phase you.)
I'll reiterate what has been said in previous threads of this nature: Clean does not equal kiddy. If you think just because a game doesn't have blood in it, you can't have any fun, you really need to get over yourself. Plus, to call an entire company kiddy (especially one that secured the best versions of 6 survival horror games) is, well, kiddy.
Maybe I should reword what I said altogether. That is, if this is targeting me. Nintendo as a whole wore off on me because..... (I'm trying not to use the same excuse over and over but it seems I'm going to have to keep doing so.) I grew out of it. (That's all I can really say lol. Unless you want me to use a different way in saying that?) And if I said anything about Nintendo as a whole being a kiddy company. I apologize for that. I meant the games they were coming out with is too family oriented. (I like privacy.... I rarely play any 2 player games.... Maybe you can see where I'm getting at with the whole me not liking family titles)
If you think just because a game doesn't have blood in it, you can't have any fun, you really need to get over yourself.
Misinterpretation. I don't care whether a game has blood or not. It has to catch my attetion and sadly none of the games for Nintendo has done any of this whatsoever. Outside of the new Zelda. Maybe I'm being narrow minded but then again that's just me. (I'm not curious about much. And I'm not willing to give many chances either.) And then you mentioned "the best" version of the survival horrors. I haven't played it and personally..... I don't plan to either. Not a fan of that genre lol. But even so, if I wanted to play it I'd get it for the ps2. I'm a very hard person to please which is why I have a short stack of games. I agree with you on all aspects of the controller though but what I think people don't like about it is the fact they fear it may be uncomfortable to use. I for one didn't like gamecubes controllers because it looked and felt a bit awkward. (The controllers are all the same {ps2, xbox, gc} so to speak... With the layout and such) Don't get me wrong though.... I'm not feeling the ps3's controller either. I'm hoping you can use the ps2 controller for that. If none of that was too me...... Just skip over it.

He might be talking about what I said. Don't take it the wrong way but I find all mario games in general to be kiddy.... Even though they're family titles. (I find them one in the same) But then again... I'll use the term family titles instead from this point on.
  25. I just heard about this recently from a friend. I was wondering if I could get a brief summary of what this is about? (He told me it was better than Bleach and so..... I'm curious now.)
