*Final Fantasy X *Final Fantasy 7
Don't like em. Sold my copy of FFX 4 days ago. FF7...... um... no. Sorry. I'm already selling FF8. I just don't like / care for the FF series. Kingdom Hearts is one I've been debating about. I don't particularly care for Disney.... But I hear it's somewhat like Zelda: OoT Full Metal Alchemist...... Actually.... no I wouldn't like this either. (Lets just say I've seen the gameplay and don't really like it.) Soul Calibur 3 isn't cheap but I'll get it eventually ^_^. Drakengard... interesting choice... What's it about? Xenosaga..... I'll have to rent this out 1st. Now I know I said I'll try Rpg's out when the new year start but good god.... Didn't say I'll try all of them out lol.
-
When the new year starts I'll probably buy a whole load of cheap games.... (Not at once) Because I'm like a year or 2 behind. But before I do, I'd like a few opinions. The games I have... Metal Gear Solid 1 - 3 Devil May Cry 1 & 3 Halo 1 & 2 Ninja Gaiden Onimusha 3 Gungrave: Overdose Hyper Streetfigher Anniversary Final Fantasy 8 Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore Dead or Alive 3 Gran Turismo 3 X-Men Legends Soul Calibur 1 & 2 Tekken Tag Tournament Edit: Virtua Fighter 4 Shenmue 1 & 2 Jade Empire Ok... So maybe I'm way behind. Anyways.... Most of the games I'm into are Action / Adventure or fighting games. A few things I don't care for.... Gamecube, DS, GBA, PSP.... I don't own any of these and don't plan to buy one either. Gran Theft Auto series.... "shrugs" Don't care for it. So no recommendations on these. And last but not least.... Let's stay away from the Final Fantasy series. I'll kick the new year off by playing a few RPG's but I still don't care for them either.
-
we all like our video games right? but how do you choose which games to buy...do you stay loyal to a certain series and buy every sequel they make? you uses EGM or IGN as your reference? ask other people for recommends? post on other forums like 1up? you rent em before you buy em? wait for morgan webb and adam sessler to review em on xplay?
I sort of do all of those. Series I know that'll be a hit, that I've actually liked. I'll go buy those right away. (MGS series) If I'm not certain about a certain game, I'd go to IGN or Gamespot, or ask for recommendations at forums. If I'm still not sure I'd rent the game out and if I like it I'll pick it up.

I like it. It looks like you had fun with it ^_^ Thanks again.

To those that're wondering.... no I don't make banners..... I wish I had the talent for to do so though. (I have a friend who makes my banners for me but I haven't seen him in a good month or so...) So now I have to bother all the banner / avatar makers here. (If you all don't mind) Character - Byakuya Theme / Design - I'll let you decide. Something light though. Txt - Silence Size - regular size. (Is it 500/100 or 400/100?) Thanks in advance. Oh.... here's the picture. http://www.bleachportal.net/gallery/?v=b&id=Bleach%2017&i=95 And for the avatar http://www.bleachportal.net/gallery/?v=b&id=Bleach%2016&i=154

After the 3 or 4 episodes I've seen of this, it's surprisingly happens to be one of my favorites. (Top 10 favs) I was really impressed with the animation and action it has in it. Sorry that I can't really say much about anything else though.... It's just a catchy anime for me.
-
Don't get what I'm saying twisted. It's just something I question everytime I watch it. I didn't say anything about taking his sword away from him. He's a master swordsman.... o....k..... I know about all of that. /sarcasm >_> (They're just thoughts that goes through my head....) It's nothing to really blow your load over.

Anime What anime do you wish you never saw in the first place?
Magus replied to serenayasha's topic in Otaku Central
One piece I love its hilirious, cant figure out why its not liked :(
I probably didn't explain why I didn't like this show good enough the 1st time. I regretted watching this show (granted I only seen the dub and don't plan on downloading the sub or manga) because: 1) I don't care for too much comedy when it comes to animes... cheesy comedy at that. (1 of the reasons I don't care for Naruto anymore.... "shrugs") There are only a few animes I will watch that have comedy in. And it has to have tons of action... (i'll get to that in a moment.) Vandread is one.... and that one caught me by surprise. 2) Other than Pirates of the Carribean I don't care for the whole pirate type story..... Yes, I grew up hating Peter Pan... >_< And then the kids fantasy type thing doesn't quite cut it for me.... A boy trying to be the #1 pirate..... uh.. yea.... >_> 3) The action...... Don't have much to say about it..... It doesn't do anything for me.... It doesn't glue me to the screen. It doesn't make me say wow.
You Dont like Evangelion? :animestun I dont think you should judge an anime by its looks....just because the graphics are a bit out dated doesnt mean a thing....some of the best RPGs ever have low graphics compared to today. It should be the story that interest you...not how pretty it looks. Yeah I guess Shinji is a bad character but only because he represents our indiscisive side of us that we try to deny or cant except. ;) thats MHO.
Let's face it.... some people wants the whole package. They want an anime that tells a good story and looks good. I don't mind the looks though. I'll leave the RPG comment alone because I don't play them ^_^. Yeah I guess Shinji is a bad character but only because he represents our indiscisive side of us that we try to deny or cant except. ;) thats MHO I'm assuming this one is directed towards me? As I've said before. I have low tolerance for such things. I can't stand cowardice, over dramatization...(Naruto) It's just petty things. I guess you can say it's not much.... but that's just my attitude towards things. And with Shinji being that bad..... It's enough to make me dislike the show. (Yes, for me 1 character can blow the entire show..... again... Naruto) Speaking of which..... I'm starting to regret watching Naruto. I do download the manga and find it better..... but I'm growing tired of the whole thing. As I said about Shinji, Naruto (the character) is blowing the whole thing for me. I do not find him funny. He is way too dramatic. The words "believe it" put together in a sentence pisses me off now. I do like the fighting I've seen thus far but...... "shrugs". I won't go into deep details about the whole voice acting thing but I'll say this much about it. They sound far too dull. (I've never seen the sub) How can I explain this.... Ok.... Kakashi. I think it was this past episode. Kakashi had a surprise look on his face. But his voice didn't match the expression. He just said whatever he said with no emotion.... (petty thing but that'll put me to sleep) Other than that.... it's all Naruto. Edit: I will say this about Evangelion now that Asuka (the orange head?) came into play... Things have gotten a bit interesting. Perhaps I'll have a different opinion about it when I see the next episode. -
Lets see here. I've seen the 1st 2 arcs and from what I've seen I was impressed... Actually I'll say I was addicted so to speak. The swordplay caught my eye and I. To be more precise, it was Kenshing vs Kurogasa. I do feel some episodes could've been cut though. (I.e. The sumo episode) Everytime I look at the show I do tend to question Kenshin's concept of not killing. It sort of urks me too because he's trying not to kill people yet he's still using a sword. Even if the blade is on the other side it can still kill. (Hell, a wooden sword can kill) It's nothing major, I just think about it everytime I watch it. This show is a favorite of mine but it's constantly dropping with all the animes I'm looking at now. I do have a question though. I have not seen the other arc yet. The one that people say is bogus. My question is what makes it so bogus? Is it the fact that you're expecting to see the Revenge arc and you get that (I guess it's suppose to be a filler arc) or is it just not that great? Oh yea... Forgot to give my favorite character. 2 people tie in for this spot. Makoto Shishio and Seijuro Hiko. Shishio because he took down what was suppose to be the greatest fighters in Japan in a little less than 15 minutes. Hiko because he is full of himself yet he is still laid back and made alot of sense.

I'll start off by saying.... My favorite rapper / rappers are Bone Thugs N Harmony... I mainly like fast rappers, but they take it... "shrugs" With that being said. I listen to Eminem, Tupac, DMX, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Outkast, Fabolous, Pitbull, Twista (for freestyle) and Nelly every once in a blue moon. Some of y'all may know where I'm getting ready to take this. In this day in age..... I don't really listen to the new generation of rappers simply because all I'm hearing is the same thing I've heard back in the day. Just much more of it. This is why I listen to or prefer the older rappers. (Run DMC, LL Cool J and Tupac.... If you want, Bone could be thrown up in there as well) While I will admit. I use to listen to a few of the middle age - newer rappers. Some of them have slipped off completely. Ludacris.... His 1st album was nice as well as Word of Mouf. I didn't care for Chicken and Beer at all. I only got it because of Stand Up. And his latest album, I heard it was bogus.... (That Austin Powers kind of theme speaks for itself..... ) Lil Jon - I just find him funny.... other than that. I don't really listen to him. That was just to name a couple.... One of the main reasons I don't listen to the newer generation of rappers... The jewelry in the mouth gotta go. Yin(g) Yang Twins, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and whoever else got that stuff in their mouth needs to get rid of it. You... well I can barely understand any of the words that's being said. Which is really a shame because I listen to mainly fast rappers... (fabolous, eminem, and dmx excluded) or people that have rapped fast on a song. And I could understand what they would say before any of these people with the jewelry in their mouth. Now that I'm done ranting..... I'll answer the question... ^_^
Now, I am asking. What are your comments on this whole movement?
I haven't really paid much attention to it. (I'm more of an R&B and gospel [shup, it's soothing XD] type of guy) Although I have noticed that ATL has takin over the hip hop industry though. I don't really have anything to say about it though. How long do you think it'll last is the true question? If none of that made any sense at all let me know.... It's late right now (4:36 a.m) and I'll reword it.

My favorite genre in movies is action although most of my favorite movies are comedies..... (ironic because I don't care for the comedy genre in animes) To name a few of my favorites... Pulp Fiction - Some people find this boring or don't understand the plot. I'm one of those people that don't understand it myself. I mainly look it this for the comedy it has to offer. (At the beginning where Sam Jackson and John Travolta met up with them guys in the apartment / hotel and then when
John Travolta shot that guy in the face.....
Don't know why.... but I was cracking up. Friday After Next - What can I say about this..... Money Mike, Damon, Day Day... I was cracking up at all of them. Bad Boys 1 & 2, Hitch, Be Cool, Bruce Almighty, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, (I like all of the Madea plays) Money Talks, Rush Hour 1 & 2. All comedies.... yet action is "suppose" to be my favorite genre.
-
Hmm... The only reason I watch anime is because I find them more exciting than most movies. (Kind of sad because I've only enjoyed about maybe 3-5 movies that came out this year... and the only tv shows I watch are Friends, Joey, and Whose Line is it Anyway... so yea) Also the animes I watch makes up for the action in movies I don't get. About American cartoons.... "shrugs" If it's not Spider-Man or X-Men (90's version) I won't watch it. I do believe anime is better than regular cartoons... (I've grown out of Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny... but every once in a while I may watch em.) Never cared for Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy..... About American comics.... IMO comics are better than mangas... I grew up on Marvel comics so maybe this is a little bias but "shrugs" They have all that I'm looking for. (Action) Sure they may lack in the storyline department but I couldn't careless.

I'm looking forward to the Ps3 but I'm not in a rush to get it. So far the only games I want on it is MGS4 and DMC4. Other than that "shrugs" Meh, I've never cared about what console comes out on top. Just produces more fanboyism. (which I really can't stand) However I do agree with whoever said Xbox 360 came out too fast. I'm already hearing people returning it because of error's and glitches. But that won't stop me from getting it in 3 years. I never did care about playing games online. As far as Nintendo goes..... I gave up on it a long time ago. To be more precise... I gave up on them after getting Majora's Mask for N64. And I only have about 5-7 games on there. I don't own a gamecube and I've grown out of portables.... So I don't look forward to seeing Revolution's release. (you don't want to hear my reasoning.... I'm sure you've heard it before)

No Cowboy Bebop? Meh, oh well. Guess I have to move onward. The only shows I really look at on adult swin are Samurai Champloo and Ghost in the Shell. I watch Full Metal Alchemist every now and then. Which leads me to this:
How can somebody not like an anime about a runt and a big peice of armor?
Never ask this again. Atleast not when I'm around because I could disappoint you. InuYasha - "sighs" I'll skip this one. I've ranted about this one enough. Scryed - I caught this one near the middle of the series I guess, but from what I've seen. I want to say it's cheesy, but it also had my interest as well. I won't judge this one because I have to check this one out from the beginning. Ghost in the Shell - One of the only reasons why I watch Adult Swim. Maybe it's just me, but I tend to do the "what if" thing with this show. (You know, what if we had a future that turned out like that) The animation is way above average IMO. I enjoy the music. (I won't say I enjoy the 2nd intro theme as much as the 1s though) Action is nice... I don't really have any negatives about this show. Samurai Champloo - I'm a sucker for samurai animes. I'll say this now. I'm not fond of comedy in animes.(Other than Vandread) But this one had me crackin up. Anyways, just like GitS, this is the same.... nice animation, music, VA such a such.... Full Metal Alchemist - I started out liking this until 1 episode. (1st episode dealing with chimera's) And then another episode with animals dying..... That's not exactly my cup of tea. Evangelion - Shinji messes everything up for me in this show. I guess if I had to choose between Ghost in the Shell and Samurai Champloo.... It would probably be Ghost in the Shell.

Anime What anime do you wish you never saw in the first place?
Magus replied to serenayasha's topic in Otaku Central
Street Fighter II: That got nearly every aspect of the games world wrong, save Guile's hair style. I mean, honstly. Ken had red hair, Ryu had Gohan's due, and Sagat was in prison! Hello!? Plus, Ken and Ryu are possibly the most ambigously gay duo in anime.
LOL. Agreed. But not because of the looks. I didn't really mind the looks too much. I was more disappointed in how it turned out when they arrived in India. Animation was okay until this part and the rest. Because they kept on using images from previous fights. The suspense pissed me off greatly. I mean, I like suspense animes and movies just as much as the other. (Especially the show 24) But in this one... Bison would laugh for like 10 minutes and then the show goes off. WHAT THE HELL??? Or in this one episode where Cammy was staring at the back of Chun Li's dad's head for umpteen minutes and then it would go off. I agree on the whole gay thing as well. Especially when they were fighting each other near the end of the series. The proof is there too. The little soft music theme during there fight. >_< This show started out great, but deterred down the line...... Big disappointment. I could go on and on, but I'll lay off. Hate to say it, but I'm starting to regret watching Naruto. The dub version anyway. I find myself cringing at the tv everytime I hear Naruto say "Believe it" It maybe a silly reason, but I have low tolerance for such things. Which brings me to my next choice. Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm still watching this anime till this day because I'm trying to catch the story of it and I hear great things coming from other people, but Shinji (I think that's his name) is pissing me off to the point where I can't stand to watch another episode. Constant whining.... cowardice.... I cannot stand it. -
I probably have a better chance asking this question elsewhere seeing that there's hardly any sport game topics. (As far as I can tell) But to anyone who has played / mastered this game, how in the world do you do an alley-hoop? And then I need to know how do I do different types of dunks. To anyone wondering how does the game stack up against others.... I can't really answer that question because I haven't played any sports games since 2001. But I can say this much. (if anyones interested in getting the game) It's a pretty decent game. Probably one of the best out there. One major flaw of the game is the talking. Let's say I just scored with Lebron James. Sometimes the announcers or the commentators would say someone else scored. Or they would do something like Lebron just scored a 3 pointer when I went for a dunk. It's nothing major, but you would probably look at the screen like it's stupid or something. I haven't figured everything out as of yet, but I know most of the crossovers, spins, and such is done with the left toggle. If you're trying to get use to the controls you will find yourself traveling for a bit because of the L1 button. (hop step) That's pretty much it. Like I said, the game is fairly decent. (above average for a B-ball game) Oh yea, I would still like the answer to those questions if you know them. Thanks in advance ^_^
Hmm... anime released/completed just this year? As an avid GITS fan, I'd advise you to get Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig. Even if the plot doesn't get you (took some time for me to figure it out), surely you will appreciate the aesthetics. It's chockful of lovely 2D and 3D animation (bleded seamlessly into each other) and action-packed sequences. I lovesss it to pieces. Bleach is another recent anime that I highly recommend otakus to watch. The plot's fathomable, the characters are interesting (well, 'tleast in the way they're presented) and it's a good mixture of comedy, action and (a bit of) drama.
Not just this year. I just seen the 1st episode of Gits: 2nd gig this past Saturday. I do plan on going after it. It's a must buy for me ^_^. As far as Bleach goes. I only read the manga. (that is until it the anime comes to US shores) My time is very limited, and my computer is too crappy to download the animes.

Anime Which Toonami Anime Cartoon Is Your Fave?
Magus replied to Coolskittles821's topic in Otaku Central
(old man voice) Youngsters these days... don't remember the good ol' days. Hold on, I have an old parchment... Ahem... Outlaw Star was possibly the best show Toonami aired as a whole. It actually finished a series that wasn't Dragon Ball related in two seasons! The art style was beautiful, the characters where awesome, the Caster Gun was the f'ing shizznit, and the premise was very original aswell. Tenchi Muyo/Universe/In Tokyo... that kinda speaks for itself. If you missed out on the Tenchi Era, then you missed out on the Golden Age of Toonami. Ruroini Kenshin is a good anime in any form. I own the first season DVDs, so I'm not really missing out on anything. Mobile Suit Gundam: 008th MS Team was a classic aswell. But it should have been on [adult swim]. But still, it was great. Currently, Naruto and IGPX have me tooning in, but other than that, I have no reason to watch old episodes of DBZ and Yu Gi Oh GX....
I agree with half of that. Outlaw Star, Tenchi, and Gundam are the ones I haven't seen. I had a craving for just fighting type animes back then so I was just watching DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin. Now.... Naruto has my attention for the moment, but it's not meeting my expectations and such. I'm a little disappointed in it. As far as IGPX goes... I've only seen the episode that came on this past Saturday. It does show potential. Alot of potential. I found myself wondering what's going to happen next. So I'll be tuning in this Saturday for it. As far as favorite goes.... can I count old or does it have to be now? If I can mention old then it would be either Rurouni Kenshin or Yu Yu Hakusho. Now..... IGPX to me is more interesting than Naruto so I'll say that. I won't even speak on DBZ uncut.... (they sound far too dull after watching the other version....) -
Alright, around 1 year ago I picked up a PS2 controller, played Sly Cooper, and before I knew it I was completely uninterested in anime and had around 100 video games. In the meantime, anime has been booming and I've been missing out. Now here I am, one year and 100 games later and I want to get back into anime again. So... where should I start? I like anything with a good story and charachters. The charachters are most important for me. I like all genres.
You don't mind if I ask as well? Wouldn't make sense to clutter the forum with recommendation threads... I'm an action-holic. I favor swordsplay (Rurouni Kenshin) and martial arts animes, but I also like gunplay as well. I don't really care much for the romantic type animes (maybe because I'm cold-hearted ^_^) I'm not into the kiddish shows. I don't particularly care for comedy, but if it's in there with the action (something like Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop) I'll watch it. Anyways.... These are the animes I've seen and enjoyed. Cowboy Bebop *** Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X, all the movies)*** Yu Yu Hakusho*** Samurai Champloo Vandread (where'd that come from)*** Ghost in the Shell: SAC*** Hellsing*** RahXephon Gungrave Ninja Scroll Trigun*** Current shows that're being watched: Evangelion (I'm somewhat disappointed in this) Naruto (I can't really say that I'm enjoying it right now... seems more like inuyasha in a better form to me.) Scryed (every now and then) Inuyasha (..... I'm on the verge to stop following this show) Full Metal Alchemist (every now and then.... I have urges to get pissed off at this show) That's pretty much it. As you can see, I haven't seen many animes. My resources are very limited. As I don't have the time to download anime off the internet. I can only buy them or watch what's on tv. The shows with the stars are the ones I've enjoyed the most, and hoping to see shows on a similar basis. The shows don't have to have the same concept or anything. (Mainly just great action and I can be hooked) Edit: I'll update this seeing that some of you are suggesting mangas. The only mangas I've been reading are Naruto (I just read 284 yesterday) and Bleach. (204 day before yesterday) So I'm up-to-date on those.... ^_^
-
Sadly enough. I only know Yoko Kanno. I like any and everything done by her. (If you can tell me all the songs she did, I'd go get try to locate them right now ^_^) In any case. I haven't heard all of it. But I've heard majority of Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack. I must say it is the best that I've heard thus far. It calms me down so to speak. Then again, all the anime songs I have calms me down. I can also say this about most of the songs in Ghost in the Shell: SAC. Now I may not care much for Inuyasha, but I will give credit where it is due. I found the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ending themes very catchy. Very relaxing. For some odd reason I've also found myself liking the intro and outro themes to Vandread. (1st Stage) I can't give an explanatioin about this one..... Just catchy I guess.
-
Heh..... I don't really have an opinion about guys getting sensitive or not. That's on them. Instead of crying I tend to get irritated. (in my language... pissed off) So would that be considered sensitive? In Full Metal Alchemist.... I found myself getting the urge to throw something across the room in the episode where they 1st showed the chimera and such.

Anime What anime do you wish you never saw in the first place?
Magus replied to serenayasha's topic in Otaku Central
"Sighs" Wolf's Reign - I wanted to like this. I'm pretty sure this was a great show. But when I saw the 1st episode. I nearly found myself pissed off at the world. I hate seeing shows where animals (especially wolf, dog related) getting shot, hurt, killed. Inuyasha - As I've said before. I'm not that big of a fan about this show. The constant "Inuyasha" and "Sit Boys" are very tedious. More so to the point where they just pop up in my head. I also found myself annoyed by Shippo. Meh, he / she alone brought this show down to mediocre. (I know, I'm contradicting myself, but still I wish I've never seen it.) I found more annoyances in this show than greatness. One Piece - Outside of Pirates of the Carribbean (sp?) I don't care for pirate movies / shows. Let alone kids fantasy type stories. Then there's the voices...... meh. Full Metal Alchemist O_O - Great show indeed. But I can't get over 1 episode.
The one with the dad turning the girl into a chimera
Everytime I watch it or try to watch it. I find myself getting pissed off at it. -
Dubbing. I've never seen subtitled. Don't plan to either. Maybe it's because I don't care for originals. I just want to understand what I'm looking at without having to read the bottom of the screen.
-
we are Otakus
Heh, I wouldn't really call myself an otaku. (I'm not that dedicated) lol.
I agree! it just grates on me when I see my favorite animes being thrown under the bus by complainers. just about every anime I watch has been put under fire(no joke) and I know it isn't my taste thats the problem.
We'd probably cross paths later on down the line. I mean, the way you sound makes it seem like all the animes you like, everybody else gotta like it. So just about every anime you like has been put down.... Big deal. I've said it before. It's probably because those that down your anime don't have the same taste as you.
-
I'm more of a R&B person. I can't really say that it's soothing on my ears... It's just one of the genres I can put up with these days. Alicia Keys, Usher... just to name a couple are a few of my favorites. I grew up on Rap and Hip Hop back then, but I don't really care about it in this day in age. I'm more of an old school type. (Run DMC and LL Cool J) I also listen to Gospel. (Kirk Franklin, Donnie Maclurikin, Patty Ce Ce Winans... probably spelled a few names wrong) Now this is something I listen to because it's soothing on my ears. (along with a few anime music)
