1. Ah. I forgot, everyone's become so sensitive these days.
  2. "I'm the only non-white entity around"... WHAT?! I'm not white. Thought you'd know that by reading this thread by now. "Do you want to migrate to America?" LOL "What does your car do?" "It drives." LOL Best answer ever.
  3. Yeah, I did the same thing the first week it came on. Fortunately, I saw the first 2 episodes on youtube though so yeah.
  4. Young Justice is the latest series I'm into at the moment. Best looking animation I've seen so far coming from DC since Batman Under the Red Hood. I thought it would be like Teen Titans but it definately seems a lot more serious and I definately appreciate that.
  5. Yes. Kenshin in his glory days as an imperialist. As for the Samurai Champloo
Plot Summary: Mugen is a fierce animal-like warrior with a unique Bboying (break-dance) inspired fighting style. Jin has a more traditional style but donâ??t think of this as a weakness because his skills are amazing. The two contrasting samurai warriors are far from friends, yet their separate paths seem to cross anyways. Mugen is wandering aimlessly through the city when he stumbles upon a teahouse where he meets Jin and Fuu (A ditzy waitress, but donâ??t think she doesnâ??t have anything hidden up her sleeves). Fuu convinces them both to come with her in search of a mysterious samurai that smells like sunflowers and their journey begins. This modernized hip-hop tale breaks the barriers of the common, historical, samurai anime.
Mugen might be the reason why there's a lot of hip hop in it.
  6. So I beat that epic adventure. Now it's time for my review. Boy I don't even know where to begin. Guess I can start with the create a character part. My beef with it is that you only have 1 type of face you can use and just change the complexion. Sure you can alter the nose and eyes and whatnot but still, I would've liked to have been able to use different varieties. Heck, I would've liked to use the custom Shepard model and alter that a bit. Other than that, more RPGs (particularly JRPGs) needs to follow suit and let you create a character and choose how you react to things. When I say react to things I mean give different personalities to be. Gameplay took a while to get used to since I don't really play 3rd-person shooters. But I eventually got used to it and dominated when I could lol. I chose to be a vanguard and I still haven't tried out everything since it was my first playthrough and I practically kept using throw, lift, and Marksman. Got attached to warp a little near the end of the game so I'll experiment with that on my next playthrough. There was one side quest/mission that I thought I would be on forever because I'm terrible at "not" shooting civilians. My motto is to shoot whatever that moves, but I saved them all eventually, after 5-6 restarts. Speaking of restarts, my goodness it seems like it's been forever since I've seen a "game over" screen. I guess that's because I cheat and use a walkthrough with most of my games (I usually play just to feel like I'm dominating. I also play on the easiest level too. I don't need no challenge to have fun). Driving the Mako is not fun and I'll leave it at that since I've expressed my hate for that thing quite enough already. Graphically speaking, Mass Effect might be the best looking game I've seen on the 360 so far. Traversing from planet to planet never looked so good and the only time I actually enjoyed driving in the Mako was to admire the landscape. Imagine my face when I decided to land on Luna. But those graphics did have noticeable issues. Late appearances in textures don't bother me but you easy to notice. And while this is more of a technical issue but there were 2 instances when I had to reset the game because of Shepard got stuck and I couldn't move worth a lick. It only happened twice and the camera was way too close up on something. Characters personalities were great.
I've never had hard time choosing someone to sacrifice before
, mainly because I've yet to play another game that actually does it. In JRPGs
I'd love to sacrifice so many characters in them because they were so annoying. Hell, I'd sacrifice the main character if given the chance (Sora, Tidus, Fayt are all standouts that would be sacrificed in a heartbeat and I'd have no regrets). Anyway, I ended up sacrificing Kaiden. Here's where the problem with characterization (or rather conversation) kicks in at, and I'm assuming it would probably be the same if I were to sacrifice Ashley. After Kaiden's death it was like only 3 people actually spoke about his death. Everyone else kept on repeating the same stuff we spoke about at the beginning.
I know there was a lot of work put into this game but that seemed like laziness on the developers end. Then there's the audio. Voice acting was great. Then again I've played quite a few games where the voice talent really made the game great (Halo, Gears of War, God of War) and then we have the music. At first I didn't think much of it. Nothing really stood out, that was until I hit Virmire. It's like the music ramped up right then and there. Also, the music that was playing
while on the Normandy after Kaiden/Ashley's death
really fit the mood. It's just too bad that majority of the folks you can speak to had nothing to say about it. Oh yeah, I have the completionist achievement (do these achievements even matter? I don't play games for achievements) and my Shep's a paragon. I forgot what level everyone is at but I think it's in the late 40's. 4/5 from. The game is epic but it's not perfect. Edit: Just for haha's
what did everyone choose when deciding the Council's fate?
7.
There were a few things that I didn't like when I watched the first episode, though; I'm not much for their drawing style... I've seen that style before and never really cared for it, but it's not enough to turn me off of it. What's mainly unappealing is the insertion of random modern day pop culture such as the rap song in the intro, and the record scratch and messing with footage when switching between character scenes. I will say I enjoy the humor a bit, and I can see it progressing as you get to know the characters, so I will give it more of a chance by watching a few more episodes.
If the music is really going to bother you then I suggest you don't continue with the series since all you're gonna here is hip hop throughout the series. As for the artwork, I can understand that one, but at the same time it didn't bother me too much.
Rurouni Kenshin - It was good at the start. Then sometime after that pirate woman it started to go downhill. I forget. But either way, Kenshin himself and all the other characters as they developed kept it interesting. I can say right now characters are a big part of how I get into animes. Plus, a story about a guy who just kicks EVERYONE'S butt is always a good ride, right?
When you say it like that a couple of things popped into mind. Gungrave for one does a great job with characterization, not to mention you get to see a 1-man reckon army. And then there's Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. Since you thought Kenshin had a decent start, you might as well check out how he got started. One thing about I have to mention about RK though, is that while the anime does hold up to some degree the manga is far superior. Some characters in the anime don't have much of a role in the manga (the old man and the 2 little girls). So if you're able and willing, do give the manga a whirl.
  8. Goooo Steelers. I was actually worried there so I didn't watch the game lol.

Unfortunately, that's the only thing it comes down to.

  9.
till you go to Mass Effect 2... they dumb down the RPG aspect so much that its hard to even tell it apart from a generic action game.
Not saying it's different from other action games. I'm saying there's no button mashing in it. You're telling me there's button mashing in ME2? Not that I have a problem with it since I play a lot of hack n slashers (Devil May Cry anybody).
  10.
That's the rule for pretty much every action RPG out there, though, unfortunately.
Mass Effect begs to differ.
  11. I'm not really seeing anything different. All I'm seeing is either recommendations or stuff I subscribed to. Or is it the layout (which I hardly pay any attention to)?
  12.
did you ever try the pistol out much? honestly that weapon is pretty good... Its no assault rifle but a good substitute, especially if you level it up.
I switch between the shotgun and pistol quite often. And I have them fairly even, I think. Might have the shotgun up by 1 point.
  13. I've been playing Mass Effect. I did start my game over but at the same time I'm further than I was previously. Originally my Shep was a soldier but I changed him to a Vanguard, mainly because I kept hearing how good vangaurds can be. I'm not disappointed but at the same time I do think I should've stuck with being a soldier. I miss the assault rifle. I know I can still use it but I can't aim with it. Anyway, I'll save how far I got into the game for the Mass Effect thread, but I'm over 40 hours now and most of that was due to side missions. Usually when a game have so many side missions/quests and I attempt to do them the game begins to feel draggy *coughTalesoftheAbysscough* and I get bored of it. Here, while most of the side quests are fairly the same (searching for minerals or whatever) I don't feel tired of them yet. The one flaw is the Mako. Driving in that thing, while it's not as bad as I was making it out to be (anymore) but driving on rocky mountain's that are very tall, yes that is bad, or rather, tedious. Better yet, let me reverse that. Driving on a rocky mountain is actually the good part. It turns bad when a mountain to smoothing out. Anyway, I'll stop there before I end up posting my entire thoughts in this thread instead of the ME thread. (Kind of a mini-review in a sense) I'll post that when I'm done with Noveria.
  14. What was so great about Duke Nukem again?

unless you think someone describing the process of ripping off peoples heads and S***ing down their necks isn't something a PG game should say.

this is the best way to hear these great one liners

  15. Mass Effect is pretty epic.

  16.
I won't be one much for the next couple weeks. Not even to check some of the topics I have posted in like this one. I was in a I was in a nasty car accident last night. It was the other persons fault not mine and I totaled my car. If I hadn't been wearing my seat belt I probably would not be here right now. I'm lucky I have some extremely bad bruises and a few places where I was cut open by the seat belt. Sorry, for any grammar or spelling errors I can't really see because I lost my glasses in the crash.
Aww, hope you feel better.
  17. I finished Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan/Hekketsu-roku(sp?) recently. Awesome show even though it took about 6 episodes for it to get exciting, but once it picked up it got good. I think I said it once before that Hakuouki is character driven and I really liked the interactions between the characters, although I must admit that I was very skeptical at first considering there were only 1 or 2 (maybe 3) females throughout the series. I thought I would end up dropping it due to boy/boy stuff (that's just not my thing), especially because they're pretty boys too, and I've always had the impression that anything with pretty boys or targeting the female crowd there would always be some type of boy boy stuff going on, but much to my surprise there was none in it and I am glad. Anyway, Hakuouki ain't the best series out there and it's probably not for everyone, but if you're into samurai's do give it a whirl. I'm also watching Trigun again. Comcast finally put something good on demand for to watch and it's been forever since I've seen this series. I wish adult swim would re-run this as much as they're rerunning Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha. Heck, it even seem like Big O's 2nd season airs more than Trigun. And then I'm getting ready to shipped Hellsing Ultimate back to Blockbuster so Basilisk would come next.
  18. Yep, definately the wrong time to walk in on this thread.

  21. We have a trailer with more gameplay. Trailer You can definately see Kingdom Hearts in there.
  22. Need more games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden.

I've always wanted to play DMC. I almost bought the first three games for $20. But my mom wouldn't let me because it was rated M and I was 16 at the time. .__.

  23. Out of those teams I like the Steelers and am hoping they dominate the Jets. I cannot stand them (now). Blame all that trash talking. I know that's who they are but I just don't like loud mouths. And even after all the things the Bears did I'm still cautious of them because it just seem like they're gonna implode, so I'm choosing Packs over them. Steelers for the whole thing though.
  24. So I just recently rescued Liara and did about 2 other side missions involving these other planets (1 I did unintentionally since I didn't even meet the lady that called me). I'm still tackling side missions, so to speak. My Shephard, for the most part is Paragon with a splash of Renegade thrown in as well. I had to go the renegade route when it came to
Finch trying to blackmail me with that gang stuff. So I shot him
. I want to go "Jack Bauer" on a lot of these folks especially the ones that like to talk down to me, but for the most part I'm gonna be a goody-goody with a side a badboy. I did get used to the Mako, a little bit. I had no idea you could zoom in so until I saw a video. You can tell I don't read the manual (if that's actually in there) and then there's surveying. What's the point of it? Is it a long term effect thingy where I make money in the long run? Right now it just seem like a waste of time. Anyway, I think my level is between 12-14 and I'm trying to decide where to head next, between Noveria and Feros (Leaning towards Feros)
  25. Article It was just announced and a trailer is "suppose" to come out the 20th. With Versus and Agito (sp?) also being released (don't know when) all I can really ask is, is this really needed? Not that I mind but still. I was under the impression that XIII wasn't that great, with all the complaining I keep hearing about the game.
